He let out a small whine, his body squirming around trying to free himself. “Had enough?” A voice asked as he huffed and puffed. “Who?” He stuttered out, confusion filling him. The mystery being tutted, head cocking to the side. “You don’t remember your best friend?” (Name) wracked his brain but couldn’t come up with an answer, his mind still hazy due to alcohol.

(Name) finally clicked and his jaw dropped. He swore it was his imaginary childhood friend, except he didn’t feel so imaginary now. Hands came up to rest on his cheeks, lightly swaying his head side to side as a mask filled his vision, looking him up and down. (Name) desperately looked at the other, the one person who had always accepted him as he was, until he disappeared.

All he could do was watch as the masked being got extremely close, their noses touching. “You forgot about me didn’t you?” (Name) bit his lip and hung his head in shame. “It’s okay, we just can’t have that happening again.” He looked up, a huge jagged smirk across his mask.

(Name) should've know it was him, the one who had looked after him when he was younger, who let him confide in them. (Name) didn't fight back when their lips met, he was quick to kiss back. He let Kage take control, the taller easily lifting him onto the table and making his way between (Names) thighs.

(Name) pressed his body as close to Kage's as he could, hands holding onto Kage's arms as his hands ran all over (Names) body. Their tongues twisted together, one of Kage's hand coming up to rest on (Names) neck.

I'm sad that we didn't get to see Momo returning... I'm hoping that the special chapter that's coming out next year will address this... is it too much to ask???

For the most part, I am satisfied with this ending. There are some hinted tie-ins with TRC (the tattoo, the wand), prob a bit more than I expected, so I wonder if TRC will uhhh get a little jumpstart, or if we can see what's been going on over at the other side of things... Clear Card arc's end leaves things very hopeful. Even though the way they talked about how Kaito's time being "stopped" makes me think about Yuuko, there seems to be so much more hope that Akiho & Kaito will be able to find a solution to this, whereas with Yuuko, there seemed to be so much regret and problems as a result.

Speaking of Akiho & Kaito (I'll still call them as such LOL, their true names can be just for the ones they shared with... like how TRC SyaoSaku will always be SyaoSaku to me even after their name revelation), I'm glad they were able to have that talk in the end. With Kaito apologizing for his actions, and knowing WHAT he did wrong. As sad as I feel about the two of them leaving their friends, the fact that they will be together makes me feel very happy. I found it so cute at the end where Akiho shares her true name with Sakura and not Kaito yet bc she's still a bit upset with him XD oh Akiho~

This is so surreal because back then, it felt like such a far-fetched dream for there to be a CCS sequel. I still remember when TRC was FIRST announced ~2003 (wow 20 yrs ago), I thought it was a sequel since it's featuring Syaoran and Sakura. And when it was addressed that it's not the SAME two, I was hoping we will at least find out what happens after end of CCS bc of CLAMPverse (what I called CLAMP's version of multiverse). Seeing an ACTUAL CCS sequel just made me so so happy (although a part of me feared: but at what cost??!!--I think this was slight TRC/Holic trauma speaking). There definitely were some dark moments, especially involving Akiho, but I'm glad it had a good end. The anime adaptation was great as well, so I really look forward to the continuation.

CCS was the first anime series that I watched (USA dub) that got me into anime; in fact, it's still my favorite anime series of all time! But I was a very immature fan back then and it's kinda embarassing to admit LOL. I used to really dislike Meiling back then and wondered why they had to create her at all when I found out she was anime-only character (I saw her as a threat to SyaoSaku relationship). I also did not like the idea of Eriol x Kaho because I liked Eriol x Tomoyo more (ET still has a very special place in my heart... being one of my earliest uhh... fanon ships)... it was also to the point that I kinda disliked Kaho, until I rewatched CCS series in it's entirety. I love both Meiling and Kaho A LOT now btw. But gosh, I was such a silly child then... cuz I literally was XD I guess my point is that I'm glad that as an older fan, I am still able to follow Sakura's journey and the "essence" of the series/characters has not changed even after all this time.

The uncertainty of Asahi's family background caused by the strategy book

Mmm, is that right? I decided to remake a past post addressing this to avoid misunderstandings since it's likely this info isn't actually compatible with SMT4A's setting for fair reasons ↓

Confusion is apparent among JPN fans:

"I read the strategy book but is it true that Asahi was also an orphan? Isn't that just a mistake on the part of the editors? Maybe Asahi and Nanashi were orphans living together and Asahi remembered her name? And they were both picked up and raised by Boss, so Asahi became very attached to Nanashi?"

"SMT4A's strategy guide says that Asahi was an orphan who was adopted by Boss, but isn't Nanashi the only one who is an orphan and Asahi is Boss's real child??"

"What I don't quite understand from SMT4&A's setting is concerning Boss's fiancee and Asahi's birth; Boss is overly worried about Asahi and whenever he appeared, Nanashi and Asahi seemed to be in different positions. But then the strategy guide says Asahi was also an orphan and I was like huuuuh"

A plausible explanation is that it could be a dated aspect from the concept stage that doesn't apply to the final product. In any case, we lack hard evidence for whatever angle you look at them from.

The only stated facts are: 1) Nanashi was rescued as a baby (who rescued him is not specified) 2) Boss retired from being a Hunter due to his wife's death when Nanashi and Asahi were 5 3) Nanashi and Asahi knew each other as early as they remember 4) Boss being Asahi's father is strongly reiterated more through the game

[...Do you also feel that she saying "he's like family" would put more weight than "he's my best friend" in this context? Although a dog would love to be seen as their human's best friend too]

With this much up in the air, is it possible to, let's say, build a scenario where the unequal treatment regarding Nanashi and Asahi makes sense while still under the perspective that Boss tried the best he could with both? Welllll... to each fan their own interpretation.

Ok so I have still seen some... stuff let's say being shared about the Pact ring. So allow me to reinterate.

In the JPN version as well, the Pact Ring/Ring of promise is NOT necessarily a proof of romantic feelings.

In the JPN version of the Paralogue where you get it, Marth explained that it's a gift that Divine dragon can offer to friend or family member and that the one wearing this ring is called a partner.

However the JPN version use the word partner in as such :パートナー

In JPN this means either someone you work with, either a friend or your spouse/lover.

You can check this post for more info but as I explained in the OG japanese version, Anna, Jean and Veyle are also platonic options, in fact it's one of Alear's line in the Anna S support that confirms partner is not necessarliy a synonynom for lover.

And I know people try to pull the fact it is name the ring of promise in JPN as some sort of evidence it was an engagement ring but it's really not.

It's called the ring of the promise because each time Alear gave it to someone they make a promise or an oath with that person. In Veyle's case, it's a promise between siblings. And frankly it's not weird at all given that promise is a major theme in Engage : Alear and Lumera makes several time a pinky swear promise, Alear and Nel too, Alear and Veyle, Rafal to Nil and then Rafal to Alear at the end of the Xenologue etc.

So yeah, that's literaly just to keep with that it's called the Ring of Promise. I remember even some japanese fans pointed out that Engage is an item where confession displays differently and the nature of partnership depends of the character you give it to. I know we aren't used to have platonic S support but along with 3H, Engage is the one game where it affects the least the gameplay safe for the "Engage beam" bonus and that was a celebratory game, so really there is nothing that weird in them deciding to make platonic S srank so that some fans could give something to their fav characters without it being necessarily romantic. Especially when so many character in their A support will look at the camera and says "look we are the best friends ever" or "look we are now as close as siblings"

Personality:

The very definition of a “social butterfly” and a picture perfect example of networking, Juro is almost never seen by themself. He thrives in social environments, flitting from one conversation to the next in her tireless search for gossip at Night Raven College. They don’t mind small talk, but can get visibly antsy if a meaningless conversation drags on for too long. He’s one of the central hubs for controversy, after all, if she’s not doing something useful with her time then it’s all just a waste.

And although they were born blind, Juro seems to have a heightened spatial awareness due to the sea bunny blood running through their veins. So while she still has some trouble navigating new environments, she has a general sense of whatever’s within 5 feet (or less) of her, so he doesn’t bump into or fumble around with things as often as some people would assume he would. He also takes a tremendous amount of care into their appearance, as they were often the test subject of their parents’ (a photographer and a journalist respectively) photographs and exorbitant praise. So although they can’t see themselves, it always fills Juro with delight at being told that they look cute today. It wouldn’t be too far off to describe them as vain, as Juro is often seen enlisting the help of her peers or siblings when it comes to things like outfit coordination or making sure no accessory is out of place.

Background:

Juro was adopted at five years old by his fathers. They don’t remember much of what happened before then. One of his dads is a professional photographer while his other dad is a journalist. Juro remembers having to travel a lot during his younger years while his parents were still both relatively new in their professions, trying to break into their fields as quickly as they could by seizing any opportunity they could find. Most of his siblings (all of whom are younger than him) were adopted a little bit later, once their family became more financially stable.

She loves her family dearly, and her family loves her, often shown in the amount of praise she received when she was younger, especially when it came to her appearance. Although she couldn’t see it for herself, she adored the attention that came with it and continues to take great care of her looks to the present day. Their siblings sometimes get tired of being used as a “magic mirror” everyday by Juro (and sometimes mess with him by occasionally lying about him looking ok; they get their asses handed to them as soon as Juro finds out lol), but they depend on him a lot. He gets told that he shouldn’t stress too much over them, but with how free-spirited his parents are, he can’t help but be a little concerned.

Her penchant for sticking her nose into other people’s businesses may have stemmed from her parents as well. She never became too intrusive though. He always makes sure to take care of both his physical image as well as his figurative one. It would be a shame if everybody stopped paying attention to him because of a tarnished reputation, so he always does thorough research and makes sure to build up/fortify his social standing before spreading word of some of the more weightier scandals around campus. And even if the information given to her wasn’t entirely true, Juro might be able to work her way around it, either through the use of her unique magic or by leaning heavily into half truths that make things appear worse than they actually are. As long as everything continues to work out in their favor, Juro doesn’t really mind who they have to tear down to get what they want.

Powers:

Toxic Glamour (Unique Magic): Allows Juro to verbally or subconsciously “push” a thought into people’s heads, forcing them to believe it’s true. Those more deeply rooted in their convictions are harder to ensnare, but not impossible. Can be used on multiple people at once.

Mild Toxins from Touch: Allows Juro to temporarily numb a body part through direct touch; can try to numb more body parts or the whole body but the victim may experience major bouts of nausea if Juro chooses to do so. This ability provides a protection against toxins as well, but only for Juro.

Trivia

They’re a part of the light music club but only drops by once and while. If begged to, Juro normally joins in on the keyboard or as vocals. They know some guitar due to being taught by Cater and Lilia, but this is less frequented by them.

Her dislike of experimentally prepared food stems from Jade feeding her some strange dishes without telling her what it was beforehand. It was only halfway through her meal did he reveal that he slipped in some poisonous herbs + mushrooms in order to test her immunity to certain toxins. Juro was fine afterwards, but now she refuses to eat anything prepared by Jade.

They also really don’t like Floyd on that matter, still resenting the time he shifted everything in their dorm room slightly to the right without telling them. Juro temporarily numbed Floyd out of anger but became even more upset upon seeing him become delighted at the weird feeling their ability brought him.

Juro likes Azul slightly more than the tweels but knows not to enter into any contracts with him. They often exchange pleasantries as they pass by each other in the hallways or during slow days in the lounge. Their quid pro quo views on life are pretty similar, so it’s not uncommon for them to do small favors for one another as well.

As reference to the sea sponges sea bunnies typically eat, Juro “absorbs” information almost obsessively. Whether it be what he’s learning in class or whatever he can glean from the people around him, he can’t go one day without learning something new. The sponges sea bunnies eat are also toxic which alludes to his “toxic” personality as well.

I do have a vague concept of one of her siblings in my head! He’s gonna be a 1st year Octavinelle student (my… 3rd… octavinelle… oc… oh god) who often checks in on Juro. He helps run Juro’s social media accounts as well, acting as Juro’s personal photographer.

Juro’s never seen without their bunny eared headbands. To draw Juro without one is sacrilegious idk what else to tell you :/

As for pronouns, Juro doesn’t really care which ones you use for them. They themselves tend to change the way they refer to themselves depending on the situation (cycling between “boku (僕)”, “watashi(私)”, “atashi(私)”; rarely uses “ore (俺)” unless they become angry/upset, but even then Juro tries to keep up their facade as best they can.

Juro’s blindness is also due to irl sea bunnies not having any eyes or visual systems to rely on (or maybe they do idk some sources say otherwise), so their fur and ears are used to navigate their surroundings instead. I could’ve gone for the full “no eyes” route, but (*´-`) coloring in the eyes is my favorite part of drawing, even if they’re faded.

When I heard this was gonna be a full album i was sooo hyped. Since we have JPN versions of all the Titles now, we could expect at least a handful of original tracks right? No we just got one :/ I have yet to listen to the whole album, and who knows, it might be an enjoyable listen front-to-back, but im still disappointed.

here the marketing is confusing me. They announced it as a "comeback", and are clearly treating it as such. Did Jun have to go caramel for a collab track? I dont remember making this much noise for Valley of Lies.

I suppose Jonas Brothers is a much bigger name, but they haven't done anything relevant since their comeback in 2019 either.

Idk the hype around this is very high and it can very easily fall through. It can very easily end up sounding like a pop song from 2015, no txt-ness in sight. Ryan Tedder is the producer i think which puts me even more at edge.

Another thing is the timing. Placing both the JPN album and this Collab so close to each other doesnt seem like a good idea to me. How do we get the time to properly promote both? I thought they were shooting for a proper comeback later in the year (it still might happen, which furthers my point.) The US leg just ended, there is Lolapalooza...

I just think there is too much going on surrounding txt. Its been one thing after another for years at this point. I would rather have them properly rest for a reasonable stretch of time, and have more complete projects, rather than rushing one-song-releases.

To be fair i did want there to be a One Dream Season 2, a full-circle moment. bc One Dream was about their first time taking on the U.S as txt, and after three years its their first world tour. But without Mnet's involvement.

I hope this can be introspective and delve into the persepectives and experiences of each member and kind of like round up their career until now (i basically want a doc about txt as a whole not just that summer). Instead of just "here's some tour footage". Honestly id take that too bc ive been hungry for high-quality tour footage. The whole thing on streaming would be the ideal but. I'll take anything 🤲🤲

I have to say! working on the ita dub tag has showed me that indeed, this show has more differences in adaptation than I expected, even if I still find most stuff is the same. it's really fun for me to find and compare.

I was reading up on other internet posts about changes in keroro, and someone mentioned a clip in episode 23. I had no idea there was a change here!

Since gundam and its lore are pretty much unknown in italy, it's... fairly understandable they'd try to omit them. But the way they went about changing this scene is interesting to me because it still works in the context, even if it's like... flat out wrong in the context of gundam.

dialogue is as follows

"what are you saying? I'm the original!"

"decide who stays, the rest goes!"

"it's incredible, unheard of, a true heresy!! do you see the red star on the helm and this yellow star? they don't have it, and I do! the original (authentic) robot has the pointy helmet, but the imitation that's a knockoff doesn't have it! have I been sufficiently clear??"

"who cares about this stupid stuff?" "yeah, and the pointy helmet is useless anyway!" "QUIET, YOU DON'T HAVE THE STARS!!!"

So obviously that's not a knockoff, he's specifically referencing Char's model against the other common one. But speaking as someone who just watched four eps of the OG gundam after not knowing anything about it for my whole life... I wouldn't have gotten that. So? I mean... obviously it sucks they removed the references to gundam this way, but I understand why.

And they do start mentioning gundam by name from s2... which, I think I've never seen on tv, actually, because a post mentioned that they reintegrated the eyecatch from s2, with a dubbed phrase by keroro, but I don't remember that. Fascinating, I'm gonna post the eyecatch in a sec.

And like. I don't know, I think it's kinda smart to turn it into a "real vs knockoff" scene, because those are indeed fake copies of keroro he's battling against anyway, so it still works? and when the average quality of adaptation truly has me finding scenes that LOSE ALL SENSE because the people in charge didn't care... I can appreciate this for what it did. I guess it is similar to them removing the mention to Amuro and Tem (look at me knowing their names now...) and substituting it with another joke that works in context. I appreciate the effort to... put SOMETHING there, you know??

Other stuff... apparently the jpn dub doesn't call her Angol Mois all the time... just Mois. And it seems thankfully the crush Tamama has for Keroro is mostly untouched... so they say. I'll see about that. Though I must admit it's really obvious so far.

WAIT ONE LAST DETAIL I READ ABOUT. APPARENTLY!!! in one episode that's an homage to magical girls, keroro says a magic formula that in the original is a series of mobile suit model names. obviously, that wouldn't have made sense to an italian audience, and you wanna know what it was changed to? guess. take ANY guess.

wrong. you guessed wrong, because they referenced Ojamajo Doremi instead. Well, the italian version of her magic formula. (she usually says "Magi Magia Doremi!" instead of "pirika pirilala popolina peperuto" and according to this post he says "Magi Magia Magi!". I'm honestly dead... the adaptations... they're communicating...) And I'm not even surprised because doremi at that time was quite popular to the audience that would've watched keroro (kids). And honestly fuck everyone and everything, this was done for me... that's my top 3 favorite anime. Damn. Ok that's all.

akira toriyama saying he had never seen a black person before designing his black characters is sus. like he'd never seen an international baseball game (baseball is popular in jpn) or basketball or the olympics at least. what about a famous artist like michael jackson? he did redesign some like staff officer black (yeah, he named one of his black characters black).

i remember soul eater had a few black characters. they gave the black nurse blue eyes for some reason, and the black teacher became a zombie when the series started so he stayed blue for the rest of the series. i remember they were promoting this anime made by a black man and his main female protagonist had dark skin but blonde hair and blue eyes. I dont know the obssesion with doing that, specially to brown and black female characters, but it's specially bizarre when it comes from a black person themselves.

i also recall eyeshield 21 also had a black character nicknamed black panther (or just panther), he appeared when an american team came to play with a japanese one and the white coach didnt let him play even though he was the best player because he was black and the coach wanted an all-white team because he was racist (to everyone who wasn't white, as he also looked down the japanese team). he was drawn quite differently to the rest, but so were the white characters, so i don't know if he'd be considered a caricature...

also, papi, have you noticed how characters in anime are getting like paper white, specially female ones? I'm talking they seem to be using the almost literal white color to color their skins, it's so uncanny. the other day I was watching azumanga daioh and the characters had darker tones even though they were still pale, and they actually had different tones between each other. then I watched lucky star and the characters started having that extremely pale skin, but you still had characters with darker tones like konata herself. then there's k-on and literally every single character has the same skin tone except mugi, whos paler since shes supposedly of european descent, and finally I checked bocchi the rock and EVERY single character had that same pale skin color, literally no variation. I think it's interesting how you can see this change with slice of life anime so clearly

this is stupid but something that has always bothered me its when anime and manga authors decide to make a foreign character, they always choose europeans or americans or any other white country, if not they choose a brown country and make them the lightest brown they can manage. like when pretty cure featured international cures, the only ones that werent european or northamerican were the indian ones, and the designed them SO fucking pale like they were applying too much whitening cream, what were they thinking??? then they had cure soleil, a spanish pretty cure, whose skin is literally orange. she looks like she spent too much time at the solareum more than actually being from spain. i think it's kinda funny how pretty cure has featured a boy cure now before a brown or black female cure but whatever.

but yeah, japan doesn't have the best history when it comes to black and brown characters, I guess western animation is better in that regard? i'm guessing french cartoons are better too due to france's multicultural background.

I grew up watching "Fushigi no Umi no Nadia", and as much it was nice to see a character looking like me, homegirl had blue eyes with non textured hair... The original storyline is she believing she was from AFRICA (when she's actually the king of some Atlantis king but whatever) so it was weird Hideaki Anno thought designing Nadia like that was conclusive in assuming she *might* come from Africa🤔

It doesn't stop me from applauding when Black characters are being done justice

I think the biggest glo up was in Street Fighter : from Elena (SF3) who's supposed to come from KENYA (???) and is a light skinned blue eyed white haired woman

I also checked her in game and I was relieved she was absolutely cute and feminine, and not brash, masculine or aggressive like most Black characters are depicted in pop media.

sooooo, in lieu of the kny x oishii milk collab that's happening now, seeing kyo posing with the familiar packaging sparked a milky memory from a few years back ( ´ ▿ ` )

i was visiting jpn for the first time near the end of winter and the early beginnings of spring 2018 (so around late jan to early feb), and i've heard good things about japanese milk right

so first thing i did after landing in japan and checking into the hotel, i went to buy some milk from the konbini—first one i went to was family mart.

i got the oishii brand milk (true to its name, it's super tasty and i miss it every time i want to drink milk)

and you'd think that i would drink it immediately after buying it bc i was so excited to try it—but i had the brightest idea of drinking it after i took a shower. yknow, like how i saw them do in some animes (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

so i popped the milk in the fridge and went to take a hot bath

now, i'm a very forgetful person, and if it's out of sight, it's literally out of my mind (⇀ ↼‶) truly gone like my mans who left to buy milk from the milkstore and never came back jkjk

after my shower, i decided to look up places to go the next day and started making some plans with my family. then i went to sleep bc the eight hour flight had me tuckered out—man, it was lights out as soon as my head hit the pillow xDDDDD

i had a great night of sleep, all while my milk sat forgotten in the fridge 😅😅

and so you might think, okay well, surely you drank it when you remembered it the next day after another hot shower, right?

we had to check out of the hotel the next morning bc the actual hotel we were gonna stay at was further from the airport and closer to town

my milk was left behind in the fridge, unopened and forgotten 🥲🥲 (sometimes i wonder if the hotel staff found my milk and drank it themselves, but i doubt they would—bc common sense tells you it's extremely dumb and reckless to be drinking something that someone else left behind even though it looks like it's never been opened, bc there's always a chance that it's been tampered with)

anyway, sentiments for my forgotten milk aside, of course i have brilliant memory and remembered it only after we had checked out of the hotel and were halfway on the train to the next hotel (눈_눈)

i cursed myself for letting my milk slip away from me—but no matter, i can always get more today, or so i thought

so, when my parents were busy checking us into the second hotel, i went off to get another oishii milk packet from another konbini—this time i went to lawsons

and this time, i was determined to remember to drink it, but i was also stubborn and still wanted to drink it after i took a hot bath

obviously, i could've just bought two so i could just drink one now, and then the other after my bath later, right?

leafie is dumb and stubborn (not a great combi, let's be honest), so please keep that in mind as you enjoy the rest of this silly memory xD

and it was around noon, i think? or early afternoon when we got our rooms—and it was the perfect time for exploring town, so i tossed the milk into the fridge and left to akiba

believe it or not, all the excitement i had for the milk was gone bc i was busy being even more excited (ง ื▿ ื)ว about getting to explore akiba and harajuku (but regrettably, i was travelling with family, so i could only glance at the entire troves of bl mangas and doujins longingly for a whole 1.5 seconds bc it would be suspicious if i stared too long (ノ_<。)ヾ(´▽` )

but i digress, anyway—the sun sets so early in japan, like woah, it got dark so soon and most of the restaurants were closed when we were finally to eat (and while i am a foodie at heart, i somehow don't get hungry at all while i'm travelling ( ´ ▿ ` )), so we just grabbed a quick bento from the konbini and passed out on our beds soon after we got back to the hotel

side note: the orange juice from family mart is so so so so so so fresh and good omg, i miss it almost as much as i miss the milk tbh

so day 2 passed just like that, with a day well spent and feet well walked, and wallet slightly lighter than when i left the hotel that day (my coin purse grew heavier though, as i collected the loose change from breaking 1000 yen bills)

then come day 3—i was going to be in japan for slightly over a week, 9 days; so you might think, oh c'mon leafie, surely that's plenty of days for you to drink your goddamn milk!

again, no

day 3 was harajuku day, and boy was it raining when we got there

wearing two fuzzy jackets and two shirts were, understandably, quite a lot of layers when you're gonna be walking around a lot, plus the humidity from the rain and my tendency to sweat buckets—you can imagine that i looked like a wet rat that had just crawled out from the sewers x'DDD

my bangs were plastered across my forehead, i looked like a mess, and i wasn't used to the weather (i live in a tropical country where its either sun or rain xD), sweaty inside but cold outside :(((

but then it snowed a little at night!! though it wasn't like big big snowfall where you had fluffy snow everywhere, it was my first snow!! and it was fun just watching little ❄️ snowflakes ❄️ drifting down from the skies under the dim streetlamp

i'm sure you can already guess—i was too engrossed with the snow to remember my milk, all alone in the fridge

but i went to bed happy that night ☺️☺️

and then day 4 was... well, we don't talk about day 4, my family had a little argument bc some wanted to go back to harajuku for more shopping and some wanted to see new places

in the end, we went to the aquariums to see the fishies! took a few pics with the uhhh, bug looking creature that lives at the bottom of the ocean

it's a bit unsettling, but it was cute nonetheless

i sort of wish that i bought the stuffed toy version from the gift store tbh—i got a seal instead

this is starting to be more about the trip than the story about me forgetting my milk, so let's reel it back in and skip to day 9, the final day of my trip

note that i STILL haven't drank my milk despite having had 8 other days to do so 🤦🤦🤦

the return flight was in the evening, but we had to check out of the hotel at noon, so basically we spent the rest of the day at haneda airport

i had just reached the airport when i realised that yet again!!! i had forgotten my milk, left it in the fridge of the hotel and then checked out _:(´ཀ`」 ∠):_

knowing that this was really my final chance to taste the milk, i ran to the konbini and bought the milk for the third time now, and this time! this time!!! i drank it straight away

andit was so good!!! so tasty, ive never had a milk so good before in my life—really made me regret not drinking it earlier—i could've had one for each day i was there!!!!! but nooooo, i just had to be stubborn and forgetful hahahahhahaha (눈_눈)

and that's the end of my little milky story

so guys, if you want to drink the milk, just do it! (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b

Im. Trying to do a cover of vulgar by utsu p and im doing it with vances voice(synth v ryo) hehehe uhm but im not sure how im gonna be able to replicate the shouting? I have some ideas but idk if they will work :0 synth v is not my first choice vsynth only bc its /too/ human, and its a lot harder to get non human sounds out of it imo.

i like vocaloid(i use vocaloid 6) bc it can be v robotic, has lots of variety in vocals(and vocal effects yay), has miku, and the ui is v v kino *chefs kiss* howeverrrr synth v /is/ my second choice haha, like if i have a specific style vocal in mind(for example: i want a soft and mature feminine voice, i choose avanna) or a gender, bc i dont have any masculine vocaloids, but ive got a buncha masculine synth v voicebanks haha

Now im gonna blabber abt vocal synths bc im v autistic and v posic for them lolll

I also have voisona/cevio and ACEstudio but only bc voisona has chis-a's jpn voicebank, and ACEstudio has luo tianyi ai lmao but i rarely use chis-a(she can read english but she has an accent and the ai tuning doesnt account for english so she is so hard to make sound good, but her japanese is fine imo, other than i dont generally like ai tuning) and ive never used luo tianyi >< i want to but ive literally never used ACEstudio either lol(now i wonder if utaformatix supports their file format? I could do a luo cover of one of my songs haha)

Utau is my nemesis, before you ask... afaik and as far as i have experienced, to use an english vb u gotta type in the phonemes, and im so so bad at remembering all of every programs phoneme symbols bc they are all different... thankfully synth v has v beginner friendly phonemes, for example: why= w ay, the=dh ax, it=ih t

Obvi its still a lot to get used to, but at least its not like vocaloid lmaooo >< i think that synth v uses arpabet phoneme symbols, but idk the name of vocaloids phoneme symbols but im also not that educated so!

Tuning is also easier and more fun in vocaloid, like cutting the notes and spreading them around in v6 yields much better results than it does in synth v, and i use a lot of note bending rather than pitch line bending bc to me its more controlled and not as loosey goosey im-just-guessing as pitch line bending >< at least for my own abilities, i know there are many very talented and famous (and indie) vsynth tuners who pitch line bend and it literally sounds like a human o.o its insane but im not there yet personally haha

important note when interacting with my edelgard originally posted : 2020 on @/rotscheme / eaglegard (now deleted blogs)

i always debated making a reset theory edelgard canon on this blog or not because whilst i have discussed it with my partners, i’ve always been hesitant about it because 1) the awareness of the meta can come off like godmod and 2) it’s so overdone at this point that a lot of the impact is lost. however, the most recent interview that shed light to edelgard’s crest is giving me a lot of confidence to confirm this theory and actualize it onto my blog. ( 2023 gany interjecting, this is the interview in question!)

so what does this mean? it means that every cycle of white clouds, edelgard will have some sort of awareness. she’s not fully aware but she does have nightmares about the events in the routes where she doesn’t live. she remembers the pains of becoming hegemon edelgard, she remembers byleth mercy killing her, she remembers them in the shape of hazy dreams. as the invasion of the holy tomb draws near, her memory becomes more and more vivid and by the end of the throne room confrontation, her memories will return to her fully.

of course, this won’t exactly be forced onto muses in the white clouds phase because it could lie anywhere on the timeline. however, post-time skip i have a very specific order i like to deal with this.  i know fe3h’s jpn name is 風花雪月, which translates into wind, flower, snow, moon. however, i’m not going by that order. instead i’m doing a SS, AM, VW, CF (or a CF/VW merge depending on the claude) order. this order makes the most sense to me and i have discussed this at length with a friend, just to make it clear. ( 2023 gany: i'm pretty sure the friends i've discussed at length with were cass, nox, and lily haha)

i choose SS first, simply because it sets up a foundation for el’s hesitation to trust her classmates, knowing that a bulk of them ran away with byleth. it deepens her isolation and the unhealthy codependent relationship she builds with hubert. the last map of silver snow is called “chasing a dream” which you will later see why this is relevant. anyways, this is why azure moon she notes that facing byleth she’s weak because of the memories of byleth being her teacher and the cherished memories. each path byleth takes, it takes a toll on her mentally as if she’s trapped in this endless cycle of nightmares. 

come crimson flower, it genuinely takes her aback. she’s shocked that people decided to follow her this time, but her trust is still wonky for the first half of the time byleth goes missing because she’s starting to remember them defecting and she doesn’t want to hold onto them too tightly. but by the end of the time skip she lets herself trust them again and the black eagles become the family that she had lost all those years ago. the title of the crimson flower “to the end of the dream” is very poetic, if you think about it. for edelgard, she’s not only going to have her dream become reality but also this endless cycle of nightmares is finally coming to an end. 

the dream she had chased since silver snow? it’s finally coming to an end. 

so in short, how does this affect interactions?

not much, really. edelgard is still socially isolated for most of white clouds, she keeps a respectful distance and plans her interactions strategically. 

she has chronic fatigue, she’s always aware, always tired, there’s no room for respite. 

she only trusts hubert for a huge bulk of the time during AM and VW, in CF she doubts byleth’s loyalty and allegiances to her for most part but in CF she grows to trust her fellow classmates and learns to let them in because she now know them a little better, and they now also know her a little better too. 

i say CF and VW merge as an option too because i do think if series of events in white clouds changed that claude and edelgard could talk about their ambitions, a CF/VW merge is very likely (2023 gany here: crying over my ede/lcl/aude i wrote with lily sobs)

Maybe Ryo meant that now he's no longer a JA idol, so he's not hunted down as much by tabloids... he's living a more peaceful life now. Ice Cream... I think this is the first time they gave us #IGLIVE for the whole song. It's amazing when you can listen to what used to be group songs (Tokyoholic & Traffic) and unit songs (Banana Juice & Ice Cream) being performed by only Ryo and not feel like the solo songs lose in entertainment value at all. Fujo money is one hell of a drug !

Nanamin is definitely the national bbg for girls and women . He's literally impossible to hate and he's nice to kids. but isn't it imperialist mindset when translated to real life actions? jp has wrecked havoc in sea which left a good number of countries there bleeding and the people today are still suffering the economic consequences, while japanese salaries and welfare are good. i personally know a guy who quit the company once he hit 65 (pension age) and moved to the philippines "because it's cheap and stress free". there's a lot of japanese people in thailand and vietnam living off their pensions or working remotely with jpn salaries who get a way better life than the locals. so aren't the tiktok girlies right in a way? i mean obviously cancelling a cartoon guy over this is kind of silly, but the mindset behind the character's actions/thoughts speaks of a deeper issue, in a way.

i never watched bungou dogs but from my superficial observations it seems to virtually have no female characters, and everyone is a slender androgynous bishounen. from the get go this series will target fujos exclusively, while jjk is a shounen jump manga, thus by default meant for teenage boy consumption (with fujos being the safety net demographic).

idk about one piss, i think the green hair guy and the other ugly guy are popular? as a series it's deeply beloved and extremely popular in japan so it literally needs none of the extra fanservice to keep it going, unlike literally anything else. op is unrivaled. bleach might ge an outlier because i legit cannot name a single yaoi from it i know by osmosis, i just remember that there was blood shed between the shippers of mc x titty orange hair girl and mc x black hair girl. but gintama yaoi has always been popular... g*ntoki is shipped with anyone and everyone and they all hate each other. though him x h*j*k*ta has always been SO popular even the anime poked jokes at it.

I was bored so I tried to translate the Engage opening and ending a bit more faithfully. It's closer to a literal translation compared to the Eng version of the opening but I still tried to put the words in an elegant manner.

Commentary.

*The songs seems to be sang from Marth's pov and the ending seems to be an answer song to this one. The narrator is speaking to Alear/the player. The first verse refers to the Royals/their kingdom : the flower refering to Alfred/Firene, the black steel to Diamant/Brodia, the hot sand to Timerra/Solm, the snow to Ivy/Elusia. The 12 light refers to the Emblem, the part refering to the dawn/dusk and red memory are foreshadowing Alear's real identity. Both the first and final chorus are refering to the moment where Alear will become the Emblem of Connection (never gonna call them the Fire emblem). The second part of the song is dedicated to the story of the Fell Xenologue, still speaking to Alear, while refering to Nel's love for Altlear, her feelings for Alear and their Divine heritage. It also seems to be refering to the gradual evolution of Nel's feelings towards Alear : someone with the appearance of her love (the renewed love and borrowed shadown) her own suffering (the ancient scars) and how she came to view Alear as their own person (going from the praised blueness refering to Altlear and the umistakable ruby refering to Alear). The wings are refering to the 4 Winds whose JPN name is "4 Wings" . In the last part, Ryo read the word moushou as "Emblem" in the japanese version. Just like for the English version, the japanese version uses the "incantation" chant in the verse ie Celica "protective", Micaiah "heal", Lyn "blow across/sweep across"
