i know they underutilized the frankenstein aspect in the movie but it really does feel like the creature was perfectly created for lisa regardless. from what we saw, he spent his whole life lonely; dead parents, isolating social life, failed romantic prospects, the whole shebang, but he never gets to do anything about it because he dies, suddenly and unstoppably. until he’s suddenly alive again and the whole world is different but there’s this girl who tended to his grave when nobody else would have given him that respect, who’s experiencing the same things he did who actually has the chance to get back at the people who didn’t care for her, one tiny bit of familiarity to him… of course he’s going to kill for her just to see her happy.

john sees you gaping at him and he coughs awkwardly, apologizing about the indecency, and you’re quick to reassure him that “no, no oh my god you look good! sorry i just- i just didn’t expect that!”
clearly that doesn’t save you from further mortification so you stutter out a goodbye and hightail out of there. it’d be weeks later (the gap days full of you remembering john’s body… sometimes even dreaming about it. dreaming about being pressed against his softness and being cradled and being taken by him against the wall and-…!!) when john shows you his muscles—ripped in a way that you also didn’t expect from him but, you realize, of fucking course he’s ripped!
the daydreams just spiral even more after that :((
જ thinking about the opposite for soap—how you first saw his toned pecs before his tummy. thinking about seeing soap in that white cunty ripped-sleeves turtleneck as he fixes up something in his garage, sweat making his adonis-like muscles glisten and you honest to god whimper.
johnny looks up from where he’s got his head bowed to see something in his car and waves at you, shooting you that toothy smile that makes your breath hitch. the stretch of his arm makes his muscles flex and you could not stop the dreamy sigh that slithers out of your lips.
“hey neighbour!” johnny calls out, before his brows furrow in confusion as you, and you realize this in horror, proceed to just stare at him, all dopey and unblinkingly.
“oh!” you squeak. “bye!”
you’d try to ignore him as best as you could and you tell yourself that johnny’s sad puppy look isn’t getting to you but, well, you’re a liar and a weakling.
so, naturally, you see yourself knocking on his door a week later with a tupperware full of cookies. johnny swings the door open, wide smile only faltering a bit to make way for his confusion, but you bulldoze through whatever he must have wanted to say because you could honestly feel yourself getting faint—of course your handsome neighbour is even more handsome up close. of course.
“i, uh, got you cookies,” you say, cringing at the rasp of your voice. “well i say i ‘got’ you cookies but actually i baked them. for you. as apology. because i’m sorry.”
why, in god’s name, are you talking like that!?
“and you probably don’t wanna eat them because, duh, muscle man right here—” jesus christ, shut up! “so feel free to chuck ‘em out, i honestly wouldn’t feel offended and-”
johnny laughs, so bright and joyful that it makes him throw his head back. he even wipes his eyes because he’s laughing so hard, he teared up.
“easy there, chipmunk,” he says, mid-chuckles.

“i’d love to eat these—” he takes the tupperware from you. “y’kiddin’?”
then he does the unthinkable—he lifts his shirt up to show you his, surprisingly, soft belly. you expected muscles and sculpted abs but this? god, this is better.
johnny pats his stomach. “this baby needs ‘em sweets.”
“uh huh,” you rasp out because what else can you say when adonis shows you his stomach?
“that’s great,” you add, your eyes still trained to his belly. “really, really great.”
“…you okay there?”
you fumble another ‘uh huh’ because, again, what else can you say?

I feel like Night Terrors is just old and odd. Friends or partners, his show of affection could be old fashioned sometimes,, ex. draping his jacket around you when you shiver or opening doors for you. I have a feeling he’d be a “ladies first” type of gentleman. (if you could even call him one).
I also feel that he always has a unreadable grumpy expression on his face, like, all the time, no matter the situation. I’ve been starting to think that that’s just his relaxed face. And as someone who really pays attention to people’s facial expressions, I would probably mistake him and think that he’s upset with me or something—especially if he’s very silent.
Like you said, about him not really socializing and knowing how to talk or act with people, i feel like he’d be quite hard to understand what he means with his words, i feel that he would be very enigmatic with the people he does talk to—always with the side stepping replies, if you ask him; “Do you like being/hanging out with me?” he would probably reply with; “I don’t mind your company.” or; “Maybe I do maybe I don’t.” I feel like he would be THAT person, or if he asks you to go somewhere with him, since he probably rarely does this, you’d be a little teasing with him, “and would this be a date you are asking me out on?” I feel like he’d reply with, “if you want it to be.”
But i ALSOO feel like he’d be a really like, serious person. hmm very straight forward too. and always meaning exactly what he says. like if he asks you to sleep with him, he’s not leading on to sex, he literally just wants you to sleep next to him 😭.
Last one I promise 😔..do you think he’d be either purposely or accidentally demanding? i mean with his past and stuff, i feel like he could come off as harsh with a lot of things he says. meaning it or not.

Listen I love both Candy AND Terrors and I am more than happy to ramble about them any fucking time. Any characters that aren't popular I love giving extra attention. But you're right!
Starting from the top, he probably is pretty gentlemanly, even is he's gruff about it. He holds open doors for you, if you're cold he'll give you his jacket, he'll order for you at restaurants, he'll pay for you. Part of it is because he's a bit gentlemanly, but also I feel like he just views himself as the one in charge between the two of you, and since you're so important to Candy he does his best to take care of you for him.
He totally has resting bitch face. It's not intentional, but he's just naturally a frowner, even if he's in a relatively good mood he doesn't really smile all that often, if anything he just frowns slightly less. Get super duper close to him over time though, and he'll spare you a few small smiles every now and then.
Also, you're very correct with his replies. He doesn't want to seem too excited about things or appear more enthusiastic than he is, but he also has no idea what a normal reply would be. "Do you like this food?" "It's alright." He says, meaning that he actually really DOES like it, but he doesn't know how to express that. Ask him a "Does this outfit look good on me?" though and he ends up standing there for a few moments trying to think of what to do. He answers you with a "I think it's nice." said quite softly, meaning he thinks you look lovely.
And he also totally does mean things literally. He would absolutely just mean for you to share a bed with him and sleep if he asks "Would you like to sleep together/would you like to share a bed with me" he does not mean anything nefarious, and he'd probably be much more obvious if he actually wanted to do something more adult.
When it comes to being demanding... I think it's usually accidental. Like with him not knowing how to be polite and sociable he ends up making demands when he means a request. "Get me a soda." "Come sit over here." "Stop what you are doing and come here." "Bring me that." He's not even trying to be demanding but the man has never had to say the word please a single time in his life before so everything comes out as a statement instead of a request. If he is being intentionally demanding though, you can tell the difference in his tone of voice. Also, you could train him to say please, but he'll only do it for you and it's very begrudgingly at first.

i’m not so big on pregnancy-related things etc. but. . . i really was just having some deep thoughts about an idea with heian era sukuna & a concubine of his. she’s the first of all concubines he’s been with to actually end up pregnant — meaning she’s the one bearing the king of curses’ firstborn.
and she probably wasn’t even with him as long as the others — maybe only for a couple months, at the least. but it’s her body that was special enough, strong enough to carry his seed. i’d take it’s unexpected for her too, with the context that she became his concubine out of the sheer conclusion she had nothing else to live for.
so this baby changes everything but it’s also horrifying because pregnancy means this concubine is being hit with something that she’s never learned to bear before. (as if putting up with sukuna was easy as is.) she’s probably a person who keeps to herself a lot, still hasn’t adjusted well to this life!
i imagine sukuna is just sukuna about it. i think he’d be more possessive over this concubine — keep her to himself more, have her sleep with him in his bed, etc etc. (maybe just maybe the both of them feel that attachment towards one another, perhaps more so the concubine because sukuna’s all she has now. and let’s say she wants to help raise this child too—) on top of it he’s expectant and so sure of having a son to be a rightful heir. but instead when the concubine gives birth — the king of curses’ firstborn is a daughter. (fate is just kinda funny that way idk!)
also bonus for dad!kuna. im so sorry im jus rambling atp LOLLL
nonnie!! I am squealing over this! this is generally my thought process when I write out anything for dad sukuna regarding him and his concubine, especially because his concubine is capable enough to carry his child. I alluded to that in the most recent part of my dad sukuna story - but honestly? I always pictured sukuna as a boy dad that I never thought of his first born as a daughter!!
his daughter may look like you, but her attitude is all sukuna and he falls in love with her instantly! and of course an attachment forms (it was already starting before his fiery little girl came into this world) but more so now whenever sukuna sees the two of you together 🥺 he wasn't even sure if he was capable of feeling any type of softness until he started witnessing these moments of domestic bliss.
can you imagine him coming home after a night of terrorizing humans and sorcerers alike, only to find you and his girl snuggled up in his bed?
oh, how that man would melt instantly!! 😭

how do you think the series is going to end? obviously jonsa ;) but do you think it'll be similar to the show?
I go backwards and forwards tbh. I do feel like where most of the characters ended up in the show is probably a good indicator for their book ending (I think D&D got told the broad strokes of GRRMs ending but they just got too turned around w what they wanted/thought would make good TV).
More under the cut bc I rambled on for longer than I thought I would 😵💫
I do think Jonsa will be canon in some capacity and to me there’s only really two realistic routes;
1. Tragic star-crossed lovers who are tortured by their forbidden feelings (a la the original outline). Honestly if it goes this way I can see their romance being a subplot that isn’t entirely focussed on tbh. GRRM is a romantic but it’s usually subtle - look at Ned/Cat, Jaimie/Brienne. Even with Robb/Jeyne, it was bare bones. These are definitely love stories, but the love is so truthfully woven into the workings of the narrative that it’s barely a plot point itself. Jon and Sansa will have the same, where it’s there and unspoken and painful and probably motivates some of their decisions, but it’s not some epic Romeo and Juliet thing that consumes them. If they do have this plot where they have feelings, I doubt they’ll end up together (I don’t think we can have both). It’ll probably end like the show with everything unspoken/unresolved with Jon exiled or dead and Sansa on the throne.
2. Ned/Cat 2.0 political marriage. I generally lean more in this direction. Jon and Sansa are both political characters and their plots/desires are leading them to Winterfell. They are both positioned to be leaders of the North - it makes sense that it would be together. I think there will be Northern conspiracies that will lead to a politically fractured North with the various Starks becoming figureheads for the different remaining houses vying for power (Manderly wanting Rickon on the Northern throne, Petyr/the Vale wanting Sansa, and miscellaneous others wanting the newly resurrected Jon). Rickon will probably die (I hate it but I can’t see another way for him 😭), his followers split between Jon and Sansa’s camps. Targ reveal will happen, which will lessen Jon’s claim. But he’s a god-like figure after his resurrection so he’ll still have followers and he’ll know he needs the power of the entire united North to fight the WW. Makes sense that some advisors would suggest a marriage instead of tearing the North apart, especially with Jon wanting to go off to face the WW threat immediately. Sansa will want peace and she’ll see sense in marrying a man she knows (who I’m sure LF (if he’s alive atp) will imply that Jon will accidentally die in the war anyway and leave it all to Sansa). So they get married to unite the North, despite being essentially strangers atp. As above, I don’t think we’ll get much of an actual love story, but they are suited to each other and I think by the end of the series we’ll come very full circle with Ned/Cat ‘love didn’t just happen, we built it’. And ofc with the final book being A Dream of Spring (i.e rebirth, new life, hope) I’m betting on a Stark baby.
Idk about the other characters ngl I don’t spend half as much time theorising on them 🙃
Jon will likely seek out Dany to face the WWs. I think it’ll be pretty similar to the show where she’ll be split between wanting to help and wanting to take KL. Maybe a bit of the politcal!Jon theory here to convince her (we do need that betrayal for love, which I 100% believe is Jon - maybe with him knowing the war/their plan will likely be her doom but he goes through with it to protect the North). Ultimately, I think she’ll die fighting the WWs in like an epic sacrifice. BUT while she dies, at least one of her dragons will survive. Which means that while Dany saved the world, she also doomed them to another terrible fate - having a grown, enraged, untamed dragon loose upon the world with the only woman able to control them gone. So, even though the WW will be defeated, in the remaining/following book there’s still a Big Bad to cause drama. I like the idea of Dany’s end being conflicting - she dies a true hero but also her great act is her worst act and has long lasting consequences for the survivors.
Cersei will probably try to capture Drogon in her greed for power and in doing so causes KL to burn (Drogon’s fire + all that hidden wildfire). This is actually based on nothing but vibes haha but I like her end being caused by her own hand and greed, reaching for more when she could have lived with the power she already had. I’m choosing to ignore the Valonquar bc idc I’m not GRRM.
Bran King of Westeros bc why not.
Arya’s ending has me lost. I think she def meets Lady Stoneheart and it will make her question her own pursuit for revenge. I don’t think Arya’s story is meant to end with her becoming a heartless professional assassin dedicating her life to killing the enemies of her family; she is so much more than that. Seeing LSH will make her witness the horror of being entirely consumed by hate and bloodshed. She’ll kill LSH out of mercy and it will also symbolise her putting to rest her own anger and desire for revenge. Idk where she’ll finally end up tho so she gets a wildcard and can do whatever she wants.
Andddd all of this is subject to change on any given day. I’m just rocking w whatever feels right atp bc god knows we’re never seeing Winds.

One of the reasons I love your stories so much is because you write relationships, romantic or otherwise, so beautifully. I loved your depiction of Aoba and Anko’s friendship in On a Distant Star - their bond transcends the usual human connection. That’s very rare to find, especially in a male-female friendship in writing.
It’s glorious to read about the messiness and complexity of interpersonal relationships in all their twisty beauty - especially when done by an author who knows the ins and outs of humanity. You can make a reader love even the most random background character who’s appeared for, what, a page? Their idiosyncrasies, their flaws, and their passions all shine through in your writing.
Not to mention that I LOVE your rarepairs. As for Raidō and Kurenai??? Hoooo boi I never thought I’d ship it more than her and Asuma 😂 (seeing the three of them and how they interacted in Storms, being so beautifully in character, was a treat. I wanna ramble more because there is SO MUCH). I didn’t even know sai/tenten existed until I discovered one of your fics and that sent me down a rabbit hole asw ahshshshs.
I’m so sorry for the long-winded essay I just wrote you 😂 I’m running on three hours of sleep and am jet-lagged as fuck. Not to mention I had to sit at my laptop for the better part of a day and hammer out two assignments due on the same day. So I apologise for any lack of clarity herein.

Ah, it's not spam! I have Tumblr because I know readers sometimes feel more comfortable connecting here rather than leaving a kudos or comment.
I think I'm kind of a boring writer. My best stories don't have a lot in terms of plot, and mostly I just write what I want to read because I like so many rare pairs. I think we all want to feel a deep connection, platonic or romantic, and for some characters, like Aoba and Anko, I think them being very close friends makes more sense than a traditional romantic entanglement.
I think you're giving me too much credit lol I have just read a lot of books and seen messy people in action. I feel like I abuse the man versus self trope all the time, but that's what I'm really interested in, is how we lie to ourselves and betray ourselves to our own detriment. And the background characters are easier because there's more room to play around with them, and potential readers aren't invested in them the same was as they are with popular characters. Writing Kakashi puts my stomach in knots, but characters like Asuma and Raidou are easy peasy, because I know enough to make guesses and can be creative.
LOL Raidou and Kurenai only started because I thought it was lame for Kakashi and Asuma to be her two options. Raidou was just cute enough and you could see the leap between him to Asuma. LOL I'm never getting away from Storms. It's a mess in a lot of ways and there are things I would change, but from some of the comments I also feel like the people who needed to read it found it, so it stays. I just think that Lovesickness will be better, and a fuller picture of what could've happened.
I will maintain, until my dying day, that Sai and Tenten aren't a huge leap at all lol.
I don't mind the essays! And I definitely know what it means to be jetlagged and a student. I most certainly do not miss either. Thank you so much for reading and leaving such a sweet comment, take care!

literally chapter 12 made my day. i love reading yamqn regardless of the situation but chap. 12 nearly made me cry bc it was so good and so detailed. honestly idk where to begin. So at the wedding, oc says smth abt her needing to shove her rational thoughts down and just go through w tge wedding bc she knows that her feelings will always lead her to gyu. even though i’m a tyun supporter through and through, atp it’s just wishful thinking for me, so it was kinda weird reading how she felt like her logical thoughts needed to help her complete the actions that her emotions were coercing her into doing, honestly it felt like she was pushing down every thought of tyun which was made obvious when she was bouncing her leg and actively pushed down the thoughts of tyun. next, that scene w the man who was introduced to oc as ryujin, when i first started reading that scene, i fully expected her to see tyun looking back at her w some escape plan but ig once again, wishful thinking. In the smut scene when OC had the dagger, i fully expected her to carve her name into gyu’s skin or the opposite, but that scene really showed the audience how similar their methods became. like oc literally going crazy trying to hurt gyu the same way he hurt her, and even going so far as to call him her fallen angel and the devil. even though biblically those two terms are the same, i feel like it really shows her thought process because on one hand, he’s her fallen angel and he loves her so much that he’d do anything for her. on the other hand, he’s the devil and he has pushed her to become a monster just like him, but she is accepting it with open arms because at the end of the day, she believes that almost everything is her fault. it’s so crazy how literally every single thing that drove oc crazy made itself so evident in that scene, i bet it took ages to get it sorted out. compliments to you for that this must have been a nightmare to complete. honestly i feel like since tyun is watching everything as it’s coming to him in the media, i imagine he just gets more and more disappointed at how low oc has been sinking, and i can’t wait for his reaction to her being pregnant. as for gyu, i really feel like he’s mellowing out now that they’ve been married, maybe he might mess up for once? idk if this has been mentioned before but part of the reason that gyu is so scary to oc is the fact that for him, almost everything has gone according to plan. it really seems like everything is going to work and sort itself out right in front of him while he marries the woman love of his life and greets his newborn child. if i was tyun i’d be pulling my hairs out from the root, it would absolutely drive me crazy. gyu is honestly so interesting this chapter, with the way that since he’s married oc, he really has nothing to be scared of, other than the war but this chapter he really didn’t seem focused on it. wow i’ve been rambling. okay good luck to you on the next chapter!
it's honestly much better for tyun to stay away from oc :') she'll always love gyu more and there is nothing but heartbreak in it for him.
actually i was thinking of making her carve tyun's name onto her belly but then I was afraid of what gyu might do so i decided against it 😬
yes oc is becoming more and more like gyu and that is his plan. he wants to ruin her to the point that only he can have her. it's a tactic a lot of abusers use to keep their victims attached to them
being on tyun's side must be so demoralizing, seeing this insane man just do whatever he wants and get away with it... that's tough. but yeah maybe gyu will mess us, or maybe he will keep winning just like all corrupt kings before him :')

hi hii requesting for a twisted wonderland match up!!^^
i’m an enfj scorpio though i believe i lean a bit more to the ambivert side. i do know how to socialize especially when needed (like in events and stuff) but i don’t necessarily love it. i just get overwhelmed easily so i prefer keeping things lowkey
which i find a bit contradicting because i have the tendency to present myself in a way that would give most people a good impression of me so i get to their good side😭. cause of that, i appear reliable which i don’t mind cause i do love helping them but it could get pretty tiring sometimes. overall, in every friend group i am in, i’m always the “mom of the group”. a bit weird but rather than craving academic validation, i crave people’s dependability on me. i always get chosen to lead groups, activities, and events so at times when i’m not, i feel like i no longer am a reliable person. though i guess because of the pandemic, my will to help and guide has slowly disappeared so now i’m just really quiet☠️
i tend to be cautious of how i act towards others especially if i’m not close with them, i wouldn’t want my image to be stained. though i find that a bit hard due to my short-temper. i don’t like repeating myself thrice, i hate when i feel like my authority isn’t being put to good use if people don’t listen, i dislike when things don’t go the way i wanted and planned them to be.
as i’m writing this, i have made a realization just how easily i get swayed by my emotions. when provoked, i say or do things absentmindedly and cry out of frustration . otherwise, i prefer thinking first before i act (because… image..☹️). it’s a bit hypocrite of me to dislike huge reactions from others because it tends to be awkward for me but then i, myself, could and would cause such fuss when upset.
idek if this would help i feel like i’m just rambling atp im so sorry but since i’ve been into a relationship already, i have realized a few things about me: i live for reassurance 🥲. like, i understand if my s/o would be gone for a few hours— DAYS even but please do reassure me AND make sure to make up to the time they were gone because i’d seriously be so upset😭. i love a perfect balance between exchanging of romantic words and then some playful banters and teasings. just not too much cause again, i dislike when huge reactions/emotions are stirred (but i suppose the sudden urge to just shower each other with love isn’t bad. i would love it in fact. i guess it can get a little overboard if done too much). i also love giving and/or receiving even the little things as a gift cause it shows that they’re thinking about me randomly throughout the day (that’s so… cheesy oh my god—)
i’m the type of person who’d go in a state of panic if i don’t have major plans about my future so i would love someone who also set goals. it’s okay for me to change some minor things along the way as long as the major goal is achieved. as for hobbies, i switch interests quite a lot and the only person who can keep up with me is my bsf☠️. so someone who doesn’t judge and also show interests towards the things i like would be mwaaah (and i’d do the same for them too, of course!)
