Here I am with the ask!!! I was wondering if I could request headcanons for Adam, Alastor, Lucifer, Vox and Lute with how they would be with a sloth like S/o. I saw someone ask this on a blog I follow and I was stoked, I love this concept so much it's so funny I decided it's my favorite. INSANELY sleepy s/o, they sleep ALL the time and still manage to be super sleepy, they'd be walking down the street? They randomly fall asleep while walking, needless to say that's very dangerous in hell. In heaven a bit less, but let's say falling asleep while flying is definetely dangerous too. They're talking to someone? They might be trying to pay attention but still can't help help falling asleep, characters like Adam and Luci would definetely have no problem with that tho. They are incredibly slow, and also have the sloth tendency to climb(for the tall ones) and cling to said partner and hang onto them like ragdolls. They can stay awake if they replenish the energy they use immediately or by being monitored, but they're very concerning. I imagine warm milk would probably knock them out cold, coffee probably does little to nothing, maybe a huge amount would keep them on the brink of consciousness lol. (Sorry this got long, that's how much I find this concept hilarious, you don't actually have to include all everything I said if you don't wanna I was just rambling)

Honestly, Adam is pretty tall, and he’s got a bit of muscle under his fit, so he doesn’t mind a bit if you climb about him and all that

Alastor

Honestly, Alastor doesn’t mind your sleepy antics, it gives him an opportunity to get whatever he needs done for that time until you awake again

Although, he probably won’t let you climb him though, due to his dislike of physical touch, but dw he’ll let you cling to him a bit

If you start to daze off while he’s talking he won’t mind, his smile will soften, and he’ll tug you to his chest, talking you to sleep

Lucifer

You guys don’t go out much, so it’s not often you fall asleep on the streets, but if you do, he’ll pick you up bridal style, he won’t make a big fuss about it, at least until you get home

Like Alastor, if you fall asleep mid convo, he won’t mind, he’ll just bring you to his chest and talk you to sleep

Although he is on the shorter side, if you wanna climb him, he’ll certainly let you! He thinks it’s the cutest thing!

Lute

Honestly, Lute hates it when you sleep a lot, as because of her job, she’s busy most of the time and can’t see you, so when she does see you, and you’re asleep, it’s eh…

If you climb on her, she’ll tense up a bit, but she won’t deny it, but there’s a chance she will the first few times. Affection is new to her.

Vox

He’s another tall one, so you could climb on him, but he’s a bit of a twig tbh, so he might not be able to hold you 😭

If you fall asleep during conversation, he’ll be all pissy, but if you fall asleep ON him, bro glitches so bad

Tried to make sure you don’t fall alseep on the streets in the first place, but if you do, bitch is waking you up, ain’t no way he’s carrying you

-and that only happened because you didn’t know to respond with “i love you too” or “aww thanks” so whateves but you’re pretty notorious for being clumsy with relationships and avoiding getting into them

-so he walks up to you and is like “hey” w rizz and he finds your awkwardness both endearing and refreshing

-the crowd he hangs around with are familiar with sucking up to people or being charming, being automatically magnetic, and in the nicest way possible you weren’t really like that

-maybe it’s the virgo in him but he likes teaching you things or at least helping you through them

AITA For telling my friend we talked behind her back?

Okay so this was a while ago know and everything’s resolved but honestly I still feel rlly bad abt the situation and am wondering how other ppl would view it

So I (15NB at the time) and my other friend, “Lizzie”(15F) were complaining abt some other ppl in our friend group. From my memory it was mostly stuff abt how some of our friends made weird comments about weight that made me and her uncomfortable (I’m on the curvier side and Lizzie used to have an ED) and some venting abt how focused some ppl were abt talking about boys (I’m aro and she’s lesbian). Obviously we could’ve talked to our friends abt this but I didn’t feel like the problems were that big of a deal and mostly just wanted to vent about it, albeit in a really bitchy and petty way. It was a pretty benign conversation I think the most harmful thing said was probably that we implied that one of the girls, Taylor(15F), wasn’t actually bi (a sentimient that was gross then and I no longer agree with)

Honestly the convo wasn’t that big of a deal in my head so when it ended I figured that was that. However the next day at school Lizzie told me she decided to bring our conversation up to 3 other of our friends without telling me and now their convo was focused specifically on Taylor. They were also complaining about things me and Lizzie had not talked about nor did I agree with. Stuff like that Taylor was bragging because she posted pictures of her with money on instagram and that she shouldn’t post such revealing pictures of her self (pretty slut shamy stuff the photos were literally just normal photos but she was wearing like a crop top or smth). I was pretty upset that Taylor had talked to other ppl about our private convo and I now felt involved with these opinions which I didn’t agree with (guess that’s just my karma for gossiping tho). But I figured this would just die down so whatever.

Turns out the new ppl Lizzie had talked to decided to go to the counselor and tell them that Taylor was being “unsafe online” which was crazy she definitely wasn’t. Both Lizzie and I were upset by this and now I was really worried because not only did I feel like I started this but Taylor has a really strict mom and I was worried that the counselor would contact her and Taylor would get in trouble for smth that wasn’t her fault and she wasn’t prepared for. So I told Lizzie that we should just tell Taylor we had talked behind her back and that we should warn her that the counselors might contact her mom and apologize. Lizzie got really mad at me and told me not to contact her.

So now I’m home from school and I’m really stressed out and then Lizzie and the three other girls contact me and told me they’ve told two other girls in our friend group what’s going on INSTEAD of Taylor. The two new girls disagree with what Lizzie and the others have done and are now mad at them. So now the friend group is divided and Taylor still doesn’t even know this is happening so at this point I tell Lizzie we should tell her but Lizzie says we should wait to tell her as a group in person the next day, but I think that would be really overwhelming for Taylor and I’m not sure if the counselor will have already told her mom by then, but Lizzie still says no.

So at this point I know I’m the asshole for talking behind my friends back, but here’s where I don’t know if I’m the asshole. I decide to call Taylor by myself and tell her what happened. I tell her me and Lizzie had talked behind her back and that had spread to other people and the counselor had gotten contacted. I told her that everyone else was just looking out for her in their own way, but that I couldn’t provide their perspectives so she should also talk to them to get their side of things, and I apologized for ever talking behind her back in the first place.

Obviously she was rlly upset and she cried but she thanked me for telling her. I told Lizzie and “her group” that I had told Taylor and they were all really mad at me for it saying that I made them look bad and that I thought they were stupid because I went behind their backs to tell Taylor what happened. I really tried to emphasize in my convo with Taylor that I didn’t know everyone else’s side and that they were all just worried abt her, but I guess it’s fair that either way I went behind their back to tell her.

Anyway the fight lasted way longer and developed into a kind of two sides thing where it was “ppl who thought I did the right thing” (me, Taylor, and the two girls who were mad at Lizzie’s group) and Lizzie’s group (Lizzie and the three girls who reported Taylor to the counselor). Everything’s resolved now and we’re all still friends but I’m still wondering if it was bad to go behind everyone’s back and tell Taylor what was happening.

So, AITA for telling my friend we talked behind her back?

sorry this was such an unhinged commentary about what could potentially happen with the eris & reader dynamic 😭 i just couldn't help but notice that eris in CBMTHY part 4 reminded me so much of the older brother/cousins in my life.

jokes aside tho, i'm really curious how eris will react to seeing az being an asshole to reader and reader not really knowing how to defend herself against him (something alike to the convo the two had when az was flying reader... the girl really is fully vulnerable when it comes to him. she hands her heart to him on a silver platter and az proves time and time that he is not bothering to be careful with it). will eris get oddly protective of reader? will he just mock her for being such a doormat?? both outcomes seem equally possible in his depiction in the fic so far 🤷‍♀️

I’m a big fan of that dynamic, I have to admit 😭 the whole being mean to one another, and at first it was completely genuine and sincere but at some point the line blurs and it gets progressively more and more difficult to keep up the insults🫣🥰 >>>>

I’d quite like to explore that older-brother-Eris side at some point (maybe not in this, I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew). I feel like we get to see a small sliver of it in acosf in that scene where Cass goes down to the human lands and Eris lets slip that he’s feeling out Vassa and Jurian but doesn’t mention Lucien, as if he already trusts him. Then obviously we also have the whole conflict of what happened between Lu and Jesminda (pretty sure when Tam is telling Feyre of Lu’s backstory he says Lu’s oldest brother held him down or something to that degree—while Eris claims he wasn’t there and it’s the only time he’s disobeyed his father)

ANYWAY, I’d love to explore that in more depth because he’s such an interesting character :)

I still haven’t decided if Eris and Az are actually going to clash in such an outright way? Part of me would like it so it’s the Reader who manages to stand up for herself instead of having to watch someone else do it for her?

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore it when someone who’s normally so nonchalant gets pissed over the maltreatment of someone they care about. I just think for this one it needs to be reader to make that first step forward, even if she stumbles a few times :)

Small vent piece I did a few days ago that kinda spiraled when I drew it at like 3 in the morning. This is a DnD character of mine named Pandora Bell Dreamsong! She was one of my first PCs I really bloomed into DnD with.

More info under the cut! Me rambling and infodumping about her mostly + a gif version of this as a prize at the bottom

She’s a Satyr from the feywilds who is a college of lore bard. To sum things up in the homebrew game she’s from, all realms are pretty firm and locked with very few people to pass between. Pandora however was restless and much too eager to explore, she persuaded her way to gain favor with an Archfey who held domain over water. Said favor allowed her to become an ambassador for the Fey realm to see if relations could be made in the prime realm/if the Fey should even consider it.

She really hasn’t been taking the ambassador thing seriously though. She joined a party who briefly skirted by the Fey realm, and decided to disguise herself! The golden laurels she wears is effectively a hat of disguise, another favor she won from the Archfey who let her through. With said laurels she kept herself disguised as an elf! I was able to keep it from everyone in the party for literally two of three years that we played. The only reason she was found out was because we ran into a dragon who called her out in front of everyone. A deep convo later and then she showed everyone who she really was? No big hoot or holler about it, just party wanting to make sure they can rely on her.

All in all though she’s been through a lot, even technically an Insta-kill but was barely brought back by the cleric of the party. She’s warm, bubbly, easily excitable, a little stubborn, a bit too optimistic, and enjoys herself whenever she goes and wherever she can perform.

But some out of game things happened including a huge split/rift which has caused the game to go on indefinite hiatus and… it’s not looking like it’s ever gonna come back or be the same.

So, a small mourning piece in honor of my gal here! If I can find a DM who accepts Fey PC races I’m going to try to bring her in to give her love again but we’ll see if that’ll happen.

Oh also! She’s an avid collector of trinkets and baubles. One of the odd things she’s bought was a card that initially was a mirror but changed into a tarot card of her and so she was a little freaked out but bought it? I made art of said card a week after starting the game (three years ago!) and after her buying said card but I think my new one works better.

I'm just gonna talk a bit about the use of "showmance" (1.01 & 3.02) in regards to both instances above (which happen to refer to b/ girls’ relationship w/ EJ).

Nini and EJ both played the leads last summer, and eventually started dating. She calls it a "showmance" because I think it highlights how far the relationship was supposed to go. It wasn't really meant to last beyond their perfect summer at camp. Their relationship was just a showmance for the most part, and a rebound, for Nini b/c she was trying to get over Ricky. Though EJ may have felt that Nini was "real" unlike the other girls he dated (1.02), unfortunately, the relationship itself wasn't very real and genuine because it was only ever meant to be a showmance. EJ telling Nini he was "just trying to hold on to what they had over the summer" (1.04) perfectly highlights just how long the relationship was meant to last. Don't get me wrong, she had every right to end it when she did given EJ's actions, but Nini was also kinda looking for any excuse to break up with him once summer was over. Ejini was just a showmance, not a genuine connection (or at least wasn't meant to last). BTW, Gina was present for Ricky and Nini's fight in the hallway in 1.01 (you can peep her in the background). Nini also sorta abruptly ends things with Ricky in the 1.01 scene (which I'll get back to.) She basically officially breaks up with Ricky and doesn't leave room for a conversation. I'll get back to this point in the next part.

In 3.02, Gina expresses some disappointment at not being able to play leads together with EJ at camp. She was hoping to "continue the romance into the showmance," which I'm actually glad is not the case. Unlike his rela w/ Nini, which was established thru playing romantic leads in the show, thus only being a showmance, what Gina has with EJ is more genuine than that (and established prior to the start of summer camp). Nini declared “summer’s over” during her break up with EJ in 1.04 after he said he was “just trying to hold on to what we had over the summer,” which she was totally right to do given the whole egg situation. Tho Gina may want to have her romance with EJ continue onto a showmance, I’m glad that’s not the case b/c their relationship goes beyond putting on a show on stage. An/o thing, Gina takes the initiative to clear the air with Ricky in 3.02 by suggesting they “start over” b/c she knows how tense and awkward things have been b/t them given the events of last season. Unlike Nini, who didn’t leave a lot of space for Ricky to talk during their convo in 1.01, Gina wants to be on good terms with Ricky given the past. She just had her “Balance” dream sequence, where she sings about having the balance b/t her past and present self, then has the run in w/ Ricky. She wants to “start fresh,” and Ricky is able to be his goofy self, which reminded me of their S1 dynamic. He agrees that he wants this summer to be fun. Gina is trying to find this balance b/t her past w/ Ricky, and her present w/ EJ. Instead of leaving things unspoken b/t them, she makes the effort to be on good terms w/ Ricky and not hold the past against him. I think this is crucial to the rebuilding of their friendship this season, and so will playing the leads in the musical.

Now, I’ve had this thought for a while, so I’ll share it now. Tim, being the showrunner, could realistically make both sides of the fandom (Ricky/Gina shippers and EJ/Gina shippers) feel pretty satisfied this season by giving plenty of content to both. With Ricky/Gina being romantic leads in the musical, and as two ppl wanting to rebuild their friendship, they’ll share plenty of scenes together thruout S3. They could actually have a showmance within the confines of the musical as Anna and Kristoff/Hans. I’m sure their shippers would love to see them in this context, esp after S2. At the same time, Tim could also give Portwells a satisfying story this season by continuing to have EJ and Gina grow together, even when they’ll inevitably (slightly) regress in S3. I don’t understand why some PWs see EJ and Gina dealing with conflict this season as a bad thing. They are a couple, and no couple is perfect. As wholesome as Redlyn and Seblos are, even they dealt with issues in their relationship in S2. Conflict oftentimes gives rise to great development and resolutions, and it’s totally possible for Portwell to deal with real conflict this season and still make it out in the end stronger, together.

TL;DR- Gina could have a “showmance” with Ricky as her romantic lead in the musical, while still maintaining a real romance with EJ as her boyfriend. I believe she can and will find the balance b/t the two this season.

Alert 1x03 “Zoey” Review

my thoughts on the lastest episode, episode 3 “Zoey”

- i liked it as much as, if not a bit more, than the first two episodes… still some obvious questions and hiccups. idk why but this episode seemed a bit more structured… maybe it was because C wasn’t there lol!

- i still want to find out more about Keith, like i know they’re gonna drag his whole storyline out but how do we still not know anything about where he’s been the past 6 years?! or better yet how does no one else question him harder on where he was. i get that jason tried to talk to him in the beginning but i want to see a full on convo, not just a few minutes. i want to see more scenes with the whole family together, interacting. idk that’s probably just me tho.

- i totally understand why Sydney wanted a lock on her door, but I didn’t understand why Nikki thought it was weird. I’m happy Jason wanted her to have one if she felt safer, but it made no sense for Nikki to say no since it’s her daughter and she hasn’t seen her supposed brother in six years. it still confuses me why they haven’t taken Keith to a hospital or a therapist to get checked out, especially because they’re law enforcement officers and they deal with missing persons and it’s consequences every day.  Also, I get that they want Keith to be back in school to get back o normal but I’m still not sure how long has it been since he’s been found. If it’s been a couple of weeks or even a month or two, then I understand but if it’s only been a week or two, I don’t know why they want him to rush into school that quickly. It’s just crazy to me that the parents are already back at work and I assume Keith is left home alone? I also really liked the use of Beowulf in the underlined narrative of that story between Sydney and Keith. it added another interesting layer.

- I’m sorry but the whole scene between Nikki and Mike doing a quickie in the supply closet was just so weird to me. Like why was there a need to put that into the episode, like I get that it’ll add characterization for Nikki and Mike and it’s a good way for them to reconnect, but not at work in the middle of a missing persons case where the girl could very well either be dead, or about to die. No law-enforcement officials would ever ever do that on a workday. It doesn’t matter if Nikki is the head of the missing persons unit, Zoey’s parents put their trust in her and even if there was a few extra minutes they could’ve been doing other things to progress the case besides that. Also, they only had 10 minutes! Really really odd writing choice. save that for the end or beginning of the episode when there’s no life or death situation.

- okay so I’m really confused on Kemi. She literally offered to rub eggs on Zoe’s parents to catch all the vibes/feelings? I’m still confused what happened like I just don’t understand. I saw her purpose on the team a little bit more in this episode, she’s really good at breaking down pictures and finding where they are located. I just don’t understand some of her references, like who is she? haha! Apparently she’s been married 12 times? Sometimes some of the things she says are just so out of pocket it’s insane and it doesn’t relate to the case whatsoever.

- I thought the structure was better this episode with a few blips but overall a bit of an improvement from the first two. That being said, I thought this weeks missing persons case was very dark, creepy and low-key disturbing. I get it stuff like this can happen, but it was pretty surprising for that subject matter to be on a network television show. Overall, I think the case made sense in terms of storytelling maybe a few improvements on the shallow dialogue at the end and throughout, but that’s it.

- now that i know the parents had keith’s baby hair in the baby book, they should’ve had a DNA test right when he got home. i get that they don’t want keith to think they don’t trust him but they just have to do it, especially when they’re daughter is repeatedly telling them she doesn’t feel safe. they are law enforcement, they know the importance of a DNA test. it’s weird that they’re avoiding it.

- I thought Scott Caan was really good this week, per usual, i liked his literal leap into action to tackle the creepy guy away from Zoey. dania ramirez was good too, i like her catchphrase of ‘finding our babies’ but i hope nikki doesn’t overuse it because it can become old very fast. i liked adeola role, her character continues to confuse me but she’s great, as well as ryan broussard!

anyways that’s just my opinion for the week! i’m excited for the next episode, the promo looks good! still happy that scott’s back on the screen! what did you guys think? let me know, i luv talking!!

I just read Nor Shouts O’ War again (it’s so amazing, I don’t even have the words to describe how much I love your writing style)

Anyway, assuming that what happens in that fic is canon in your worldstate, how does the hawke/Anders first meeting differ? Is the recognition instant or does it come later like “oh shit, that was YOU?!” Im sure you have Thoughts about it and I’d love to hear them

this got a little long

yknow, in its first iteration NSoW was only the first chapter and it was going to be the opening of my longfic. hawke fights the templar, anders escapes into the night, cut to lothering and the rest of the story.

so in Draft 1, they don’t recognize each other right off, and it only really dawns on hawke during the chantry fight, when the templars doing their smite thing jogs her memory. i was going to post that bit, but rereading it, aside from all the general first draft issues...the payoff isn’t great

i went back later and added the back half of NSoW where they properly meet, so it could stand on its own a little better (since i liked the battle scene a lot and didn’t want it to just rot in my WIPs for eternity lol.) but having done that, it’s less plausible they wouldn’t recognize each other right off. i’m still figuring out how that goes tbh!

what makes it interesting/tricky is it’s a pretty big emotional beat to drop into a sequence that already has a lot going on. figure anders has to be pretty keyed up anticipating breaking karl out that night, and while hawke is some rando in canon and he rolls with it, i’d think having the rando who killed a templar for him a year ago suddenly reappear would throw him a lot more.

like i was trying to gesture at in the last bit of NSoW, he’s repressed that memory a fair bit. it occupies a delicate space in the back of his mind. having someone come to his rescue so dramatically is so far outside the run of his (or most mages’) experience, right, the kind of fortune that won’t strike twice, he’s kind of walled it off so it won’t hurt too much, yknow? something to draw comfort from without letting it be too real or color his expectations going forward

so having the memory he’s turned into this sort of talismanic figure walk back into his life in the flesh, when he’s already Big Stressed, probably leaves him pretty vulnerable! thinking about which of anders’ demonstrated ways of Not Being Great at vulnerable situations i want to go with (’:

as far as hawke’s concerned, it’s just a relief to see he made it. she’s spent the last year selling her soul over piece by piece, watching bethany harden and her mother fall apart, it’s like thank the maker at least one of her bad decisions worked out. doesn’t really change much for her tho, as she would have agreed to whatever he wanted for the maps anyway. if anything, it makes her a little quicker to look past the possession thing since she’s already marked him down as one of her people

so long story short, it pretty much gets them where they were already going, but faster!

(althoo....it’s occurring to me now it opens up a possibility space wherein he just gives her the maps out of gratitude & she wouldn’t find out about the possession until later....not sure if that goes anywhere interesting)

regardless, the templar fight is def part of lisi’s canon, gotta seal off her escape hatch back to ferelden after the blight. as far as the longer convo with anders afterward...still thinking abt whether it really adds enough to the story going forward yknow!

Oooh, what's the Lindworm Special about?

Lindworm Special is the first story of what I call my Lindworm AU. It’s got a basic outline for where I want the story to go and then a good chunk of a first chapter written. I actually haven’t touched this one since before Ectober. My Ectober stuff was originally suppose to give me a ‘standard Vlad’ backstory for me to contrast this one to. And then the Fae happened and it became it’s own AU. I still use the non-fae plot points in other stuff tho.

This Vlad ended up getting rushed to a different hospital than that one, so without Spectra trying to keep him there, he managed to get out earlier and less traumatized. Without Spectra running interference though, this Vlad ended up getting coerced into deals with the GIW where they got ectoacne samples in exchange for paying off some of his hospital bills. So he’s less desperate for cash, but the GIW are a bigger issue later. Without the desperation, he tries going for regular work at first and, when that fails, he manages to find a temporary portal to the ghost zone and starts stealing ghost items for cash.

This particular story starts in media res with Vlad trying to steal a staff when interference from another thief causes both of them to fail. She drags him off, intending to scare him off, but ends up telling him about an Ancient called Lindworm—that convo under the cut.

“You, uh, gave up pretty quick kid,” she said almost hesitantly as she eyed his slumped form.

“What’s the point,” he sighed, “it’s not like anyone’s going to miss me. I didn’t even get the stupid staff.”

“….well. Um,” Vlad tipped his head to the side to watch as the spider woman played with the bottle in in her hands. She sighed heavily, putting the cup back down with a heavy thump, “I was originally going to try to scare you off, but…” She eyed him again, “What did you want the bounty for anyway? It’s not like gold does much around here— maybe if you head down towards Olympus, but even then that’s not worth much.”

“I owe some people,” Vlad muttered vaguely into his arm. She squinted at him for a moment before closing her eyes with a groan.

“Planning to leave it for someone back on Earth,” she stated more than asked. Vlad nodded into his arms. It wasn’t like she was wrong. Just… probably thinking of a closer relationship than patient to hospital. She chewed on her lip, staring off across the room, while Vlad slumped a little more firmly into his pity party. He was so pathetic. He should have just stuck with—

“I… may know a way for you to get something valuable to humans quick,” she said finally, each word slow and measured as she continued to stare straight forward. “It’s not the worst thing ever, but…” she shrugged, finally turning to look Vlad in the eyes once more, “it’s uncomfortable. There’s this old ghost, goes by Lindworm, who gives away magic items if you hang around with her for three days. I’m pretty sure some of them are made of actual gems and shit.” Vlad blinked, sitting up a bit.

“And she just gives them away?” His eyes narrowed, “what’s the catch. You said it was uncomfortable. Do you mean mentally? Physically?” he hesitated a moment, “Sexually?”

“No! No no no no. Ancients no,” she burst out, “physically uncomfortable. She’s got this weird aura— You’re basically an infant no matter how old you were when you died. I would never—” she cut herself off with a twitchy shiver. Vlad blinked rapidly with wide eyes.

“Oh. Um. Weird aura?” Vlad asked, not quite sure how to respond to the infant comment. It wasn’t like he was a stranger to sex— stealing from ghosts wasn't the first thing he had tried in order to pay off his bills, it was just the most lucrative when it paid off (and honestly a bit safer considering the number of times he’d started the day in a ditch or behind a dumster).

“Yes! I mean,” the spider coughed, eyes twitching away as her face turned a darker shade of green, “it’s not really painful per say, but it kind of feels like how nails on a chalkboard sounds, you know? It feels wrong, so she has a hard time finding people willing to spend time with her.”

“So let’s say I go along with this, how would I even find this Lindworm? I don’t even know where we are now.” The spider smirked.

“Well—”
