#i'd honestly like to know a little more about squad 7

To follow up on my earlier Iba-posting, I remembered my rationale for why I think Iba can't have been a lieutenant for very long: namely the fact that Renji was the Sixth Seat of Squad 11 prior to transferring to the Sixth.

We know Yumichika doesn't want to be Fourth Seat, which is why Squad 11 doesn't have one around the time of the Soul Society Arc/Winter War, but I think one would still have to challenge him to get Fourth Seat. I assume that ranking in Squad 11 is based, at least partially, on beating the current occupant of the seat in a fight. It seems to me that Renji could have pretty easily gotten that Fourth Seat if he wanted it, and my best explanation for why he wouldn't is if he already had his eyes out the door. That is to say that I think he was already in the later stages of preparing for his Vice-Captain's Exam (or going in for his twelfth round of Squad Six vice-captain interviews, or whatever you headcanon that process looking like) at the time that Iba left.

Renji may have also not wanted to challenge Yumichika out of respect (or whatever passes for respect in Squad 11) for him. I do not think he would do this if it were say, years, but again, if he's already planning on leaving, I can see him just letting it go. I don't think this was intentional, but I think it worked to further enhance the mystique of the empty Fourth Seat Position, and explains why it stays open for years. If Renji, who goes on to become a vice-captain (and gets bankai a month later, no less), was hesitant to challenge Yumichika, I think the idea might give serious pause to the seats below. That seems like a big jump, considering the personalities that filled the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth seats.

- As a result of being overprotective, they'd be clingy and never far from you.

- Also, as they're a soldier caste, they'd fight often with each other in an attempt to gain your attention.

- They can work together, yes, but they still get jealous.

- Rubies would want attention and praise from their darling.

- They want to know if they're doing a good job.

- If you were a Gem, they'd definitely want to try fusing once they know about it on Earth.

7. A quote of them that you remember

This is a hard one because Vanessa has so many amazing moments, but I think I'll go with the two that came to mind immediately. (1) I love the moment where she tells the Queen of Witches, "You and I have no bonds." Recognizing that the Black Bulls are the family she always wanted and that she doesn't need Her Majesty's "love" to be happy is such a pivotal moment in her character development, and it honestly still gives me chills every time I watch or read it. (2) An anime addition, but I love that encouraging little speech she gives Finral before he faces Langris in the Royal Knight's Exam (I won't type out the whole thing but it ends with something like "You're not going to lose to him so easily anymore. Go show him how awesome you are--and I don't just mean the hair!"). Vanessa just has such a gift in building up her friends and encouraging them, and she believes in them even when they don't believe in themselves. I love that scene because it is a real reflection of that.

24. What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone?

In general, I think a lot of what happened to her in her childhood is a big secret for Vanessa. Vanessa is the type of person who really tries to bury her pain and focus on the positive and/or on other people's problems even when she, herself, is hurting. She had told very few of her friends about her childhood in the Forest of Witches, prior to the arc that took place there, and even then, I think she only told them bits and pieces of the story.

Since she doesn't want her squad family to worry about her, she's never told them that her past still comes back to haunt her, mainly in her nightmares and fears of enclosed, crammed spaces. Though they had gotten less frequent, she does have still nightmares about her childhood and also about the events in the Forest of Witches arc/losing her friends, and when they get particularly bad, she will sleep by candlelight because she is afraid of waking up back in that cage and her tower.

30. The funniest scene they had?

Vanessa has such a great sense of humor, and I loved any time she affectionately teased her friends. There are some great moments between her, Noelle, and Asta on their first outing to the castle town of Kikka for instance, and her friendship with Magna especially has always made me laugh from their first appearance where they're poking fun at each other's vices. The scene that came to mind immediately read this prompt is also from Episode 80 in the Royal Knight's Exam (can you tell that's my one of my favorite episodes?) though. There's a moment where Magna asks if she'll do his hair too, and Vanessa teases him that there's no way. It's all in good fun, and Luck gets some great lines where he chimes in and teases Magna too. It's cute and makes me laugh every time.

7. A quote of them that you remember

Poor Altan. I've barely written about him, so he hasn't gotten to say much yet. He has appeared in some of my wips though, and there's an exchange between him and his Papa that I really like so I'll share that here:

Langris had to admit, he was happy for the temporarily distraction from poor Finesse and her failing health. His palms started to sweat again at the thought, and he began to wring his hands before Altan’s tiny fingers curled around one of them.

“Is Mama alright?” he asked.

“She’s just not feeling well,” Langris explained—trying to shake the worst-case-scenarios out of his own head.

“Should we go pick some flowers for her?” he asked with a kindness that brought a smile to Langris’ face. No words could describe how relieved he was that his son took after his gentle, kindhearted mother rather than a disagreeable misanthrope like him. The hard-lines in Langris’ face softened, and he even managed a slight smile.

24. What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone?

Altan is shy, but he's not particularly secretive on purpose. If asked about himself, he will share and actually answer instead of deflecting questions and playing 3D chess, smoke and mirrors mind-games like his dad used to do. It just isn't easy for him to freely offer such information without being asked about himself since he doesn't particularly like the spotlight. He tends to be pretty open with his family and closest friends though so he doesn't have too many secrets from them.

He does have one big secret, however which is that, by the time he's in his teens, Altan actually knows a lot about what went on between his father and uncle and how strained their relationship was in the past. Finral and Langris had long ago agreed to let bygones be bygones and decided not to tell their children about how much bad blood used to exist between them. Altan, however, kind of put a lot of pieces together and knows that his father made a lot of mistakes when he was younger, especially in regards to his relationship with his brother. He doesn't ever really bring it up, however, because he knows that his father has a lot of fear that learning all of that would change the way his son saw him, and he doesn't want to open those old wounds for his dad. However, the realization doesn't change much for Altan--he has forgiven his father and thinks what is important is that his dad learned from his mistakes and tried to better going forward, and in fact, he thinks that is a very admirable thing. Someday when Altan is a grown man, his father sits him down to tell him the truth, and it is such a moving moment for Langris when Altan just smiles at him and says he has known for a long time and it doesn't change anything.

30. The funniest scene they had?

Altan gets roped into all kinds of shenanigans thanks to his much more rambunctious cousins and friends, but he himself doesn't usually cause too much trouble or chaos on his own. However, he did participate in a prank of his dad once. When Altan wanted to get his hair cut by his aunt, the extended family decided to pull a bit of a prank on him and sent Altan home wearing a wig of a ridiculously awful haircut. Langris was so relieved when it was revealed just to be a wig, and they actually got him to laugh which made Altan very happy.

1. How many fics do you have on ao3?

Technically 40 but actually 39 lmao. When I first started posting my wwdits october prompts last year, I posted the first two as chapters on the same fic before reposting them (and all the others) as individual works in a series. But I refuse to delete the original because I got some nice comments on it ^.^

2. What is your ao3 word count?

3. How many fandoms do you write for and what are they?

Well I've only ever posted for A Series of Unfortunate Events, What We Do in the Shadows and Harlots, but I've got WIPs for Hunger Games, Why Women Kill, and School for Good and Evil as well (some of which will hopefully also get posted... at some point lmao)

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Disclaimer: I have not read these fics in ages and I have no idea what the writing quality is like lmao

That's Not The Point (wwdits) — Nandor gets defensive of Guillermo when Nadja and Laszlo start insulting him. I honestly didn't really like this at all when I was writing it and I cannot believe that it is overwhelmingly my most popular fic with almost a 100 kudos lead on second place

His Good Lady Wife (wwdits) — set in the aftermath of the gang's attempt to capture the Sire, it focuses on Nadja/Laszlo with a strong emphasis on Nadja and how she's feeling. This one is also actually my oldest fic! It's really nice to see that it's doing so well, especially since it's the only fic to make the top five that isn't tagged with Nandor/Guillermo (a feat in and of itself lmao) ^.^

What A Way To Spend The Evening (wwdits) — Guillermo being jealous of Nadja and Laszlo being cute... what more is there to say?

An Eternity With You (wwdits) — a classic "the squad gets drunk" fic wherein Guillermo has to take care of a sad-drunk Nandor while Nadja and Laszlo are, once again, cute. Is anyone else sensing a theme here?

A Wish, Unfulfilled (wwdits) — now this one I do still like the concept of; Guillermo makes a wish that accidentally turns him into a vampire and the vampires into his familiars. However, because it was written for one of the october prompts, it is rather rushed, and I did actually start work on a multichapter version of it. Hopefully someday I'll get around to finishing that

I knew none of my asoue fics even came close to my wwdits ones in terms of stats, but I was not prepared to see the numbers because like... woah. That's a lot of kudos. Thank you!! There's also an (admittedly quite funny) trend of my Nandermo-adjacent fics doing way better than anything else, despite the fact that I wrote far more Nadja-centric content, and haven't posted anything at all for wwdits in almost a year

(giving a lil bonus as a treat: my top asoue fic is Figuratively Speaking, and it's the only asoue fic I've written that managed to beat any of my wwdits fics in terms of kudos)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why / why not?

Yes, absolutely! I love getting comments so so much, they always brighten my day and I think about them like... all the time. So I just want to leave a little acknowledgement and let people know that I really appreciate them taking the time to say that they enjoyed my writing! I spend a lot of time on my fics, and hearing that someone out there liked one of them enough to tell me that is... so so lovely, and I love being able to thank people for that!!

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Oooh okay this is a hard one because I don't tend to really write happy things. I think I'd have to say Insistent (asoue), because the ending of that one is probably the most overtly angsty one (I think, although there are a couple other contenders). This was also the one where someone commented that I owe them for their therapy bills so I feel like that's a good indictor lmao

7. Do you write crossovers?

I don't write crossovers in terms of having characters from different universes meet up (unless you count the one time Mina showed up in a wwdits fic but I feel like that's just canon from the lore the show's given us so far about fictional vampires) and I've certainly never posted an actual crossover... but I do have an AU in the works where the characters from asoue are living in the Hunger Games universe (replacing all of the characters from THG instead of coexisting with them) and that might get posted someday?

8. Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?

Nope! To be fair, I don't think enough people see my fics to get someone hating on them, especially since I write for smaller fandoms where, as far as I've seen, the people are all very nice and encouraging!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I certainly don't post smut. I've tried my hand at it once or twice (on a couple of asoue pairings actually), but I'm not sure I ever really hit the mark so I probably won't ever post them. They are still sitting in my WIP folders though

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I know. Again, not being super popular and writing for smaller fandoms certainly reduces the risk, along with the fact that the fandoms I do write for are very lovely

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Again, not to my knowledge. It'd be SO cool if someone ever wanted to, though

12. Have you ever co-written a fic?

Nope! Honestly, I'm not really sure how that works for people?? I think I'm too unreliable with schedules and going off-plan for anyone to put up with me lmao

13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Oh god that's a hard one. I have a lot that I really adore (like, a lot), some of which I've never even had the chance to write for. As much as I love Esmé/Georgina (and they may be my favourite to read), I think Beatrice/Esmé is my favourite to write, purely because you can do so much with their dynamic and it's very interesting to me. Also they're both chaotic and problematic and that is my JAM

14. What’s a wip that you want to finish but you don’t think you ever will?

Possibly the extended version of A Wish, Unfulfilled that I mentioned earlier, or my entire rewrite of wwdits season 4. I've been super uninspired for wwdits in months because I'm honestly really disappointed in the show's writing, and there are so many other fandoms that I still adore writing for that I'm not sure I'll ever get the inspiration to go back and finish either of them

15. What are your writing strengths?

Okay this is kinda hard for me because I know I'm very critical of my writing (it's something I'm working on but we're not there yet lmao). I've been told my dialogue is a strong point, and I do enjoy and spend a lot of time on trying to capture how different characters would speak, so I'm going to say that!

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

In the interest of not spiralling tonight, I'm going to say either using dashes too much - because I really do use them all the time - or my tendency to italicise words far too often. (haha, see what I did there? I'm so funny) Oh! Or my habit of accidentally having a favourite word, that I realise upon re-reading I used wayyyyy too often for the relatively short length of my fics

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I'm not necessarily opposed to it, but also I think that I'd be too scared to try it unless I knew someone who spoke that language that could help me out. It's also not a problem I've ever come across though, and since my preferred style of narration is 'intimate third person', I'd probably just write "they said something in spanish" or something to that effect if my chosen character can't understand what's being said

18. What is the first fandom you ever wrote for?

The first fandom I wrote for is harder to answer, because I write a lot of stuff that I don't post, but the first one I posted was for wwdits

Not including the couple of things I posted on my old ao3 account that I do not, have not, and will not ever attach to myself in any way shape or form

19. What’s your favourite fic that you have ever written?

Okay, I don't really have a favourite, but there's a few that I'm quite proud of for one reason or another (note: I'm not re-reading these before listing them here so if the quality is questionable... please don't blame me I did my best):

Under the Moonlight (asoue) — Beatrice/Esmé. This is my most recent fic, and my longest by a relatively significant significant margin, and I actually really like it

Don't You Miss How We Were? (asoue) — Esmé-centric (because of course). This is an older one, and I believe it's the only one I've ever written that is explicitly TV-verse. Still, I do like it, even if it's sad

The Dream (wwdits) — Nadja-centric, where the whole thing is literally just her having a nightmare that explains a little bit of how I see her transition going after she was bitten

The Incident (wwdits) — Now I absolutely have not read this in ages, but the concept of it is; 'the others are forced to realise that Guillermo is actually dangerous and they don't handle it well.' It's another one that I kind of wish I'd dragged out a little more, but I'm also glad that I didn't because if I had, it probably wouldn't have ever been finished/posted

That's gonna be so predictable but James. James. He's so freakish and relatable to me I can't explain maybe its a red flag

2 - What I like most and least about it

Ohhhh my god. Ok so what I like the most is how fucked up and vile it all is, the story is so raw and it all feels like the rat bucket medieval torture and its SO GOOD for that it's so horrible that you as a reader have to witness Kaijis downward spiral into hell living through horrible things its wonderful the pacing does get a bit long at some moments but it really adds to the TENSION of it all and its so briliant. The art in itself too is very good super expressive and the composition and imagery and symbolism in the manga is soooo interesting to me I love to take things apart. Idk what I like the least besides the direction it may be going towards in the latest part that I haven't read yet but I need Kaiji to lose one last time and die its controversial I know but hes not supposed to win sorry

14 - The character/story arc I find the most compelling

Devoted body and soul to The Bog arc from part 3. It's all about the machine every blow and conflict goes through the machine and the machine receives the blame and is only personified to bear it and its so so so so so interesting to me I love inanimate objects . I have way too much to say about it

88 was my favourite number when I was in like elementary school (it had FOUR circles and I thought that was SO cool when I was a kid) and man it sure was a shock to learn it had certain connotations that I didn't know about much later in life lmao

My first impression of them

I...didn't care about Ethan, which I know is very common in the fandom. I was absolutely here for Lady D. If RE8 DIDN'T sell itself on its gothic aesthetic and hot vampire MILF villain, I'd have never been invested. Honestly, I was more interested in the Maiden as a protagonist before...well. RIP.

I will say that I was always...willing to defend Ethan back in the early days (like, the literal day the game launched), when people were really PISSED that he killed Alcina, and that's been an ongoing process where I'm here like "Lads....he's trying to get his daughter back." (I do have a lot of Opinions on how he's written and how the game doesn't always seem to be...aware of what it's doing with its own writing, but, on a broad level, I still agree with that, which is always interesting as an admitted and confessed Wintersberg shipper because I'll get people commenting on my fic talking about how MEAN Ethan's being to Heisenberg and I'm here like "Given that he's trying to get his daughter back and was just IMPALED by this man...and not in a fun, sexy way...I think he's allowed to deck him at least once.") I watched the ending first, just to see how things went, and was absolutely devastated, and since then, I've definitely developed a lot of affection for him on his own.

I think that Ethan's outfits look...fine? For the function they do, even though I'd have loved it if they'd made him customizable like Leon and Ashley in the RE4 remake. They're...there, but I'd have loved Ethan running around in gothic finery or as an emo.

One potentially unpopular opinion is that I've never been fond of Lady D's gown, namely because I think that...it's iconic, it works, as a WLW I'm not immune to it, and I think that it was kind of designed to deliberately subvert a lot of stereotypes around vampires and what we think of when we think of a classic Gothic vampire, but also....I've always felt like the in-game timeline doesn't make sense. We're supposed to believe that Miranda took control about a century or so ago, sometime after the Spanish Flu, that Alcina came later, possibly after Moreau, seemingly being the first experiment to be successful by Miranda's standards...presumably around the 30s from the styling, and then the rest came later? When we have portraits of Alcina in Victorian dress in the mansion?

When I was imagining what they were going to do with Alcina when all we had were little clips, I was absolutely imagining her to be at least 16th-17th century, especially since they were clearly going with the pop culture idea of Erzsébet Báthory, with her having a long tenure at the castle, and instead it turns out that she's just...hanging there because Miranda gave it to her? And her vampirism is less than a century old? (The Doylist argument for the portraits is probably "they didn't care"; my Watsonian explanation is "Alcina likes to cosplay in old clothing and pay terrified village artists to paint her so that she can pretend to be older than she is.") But, either way -- her canon costuming is great, and I can see her updating her style over time, but I wish we could have seen her chasing Ethan around in older finery, and I wish, when we saw her wardrobe, we could have seen some other dresses besides identical copies of the same white dress.

Why you should watch Ookiku Furikabutte aka Oofuri

A little history!

• Ookiku Furikabutte- popularly shortened to Oofuri and translated as Big Windup- is a manga created by Higuchi Asa, a female mangaka from Urawa, Saitama. She first published Oofuri in Afternoon, in 2004. The manga is still ongoing.

• She graduated from university with a major in sports psychology, which shows in her work!

• She has won both the 10th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize for best creative work and the 31st Kodansha Manga Award for general manga for Oofuri

The plot!

Oofuri follows main character and pitcher Mihashi as he enters a new high school. Scarred by his traumatic experience at his middle school, where his team despised him and refused to cooperate with him, he swears off playing baseball ever again. However, he can’t resist taking a peek at the fields of his new school, where he’s dragged into the team by the coach, Momoe Maria. This baseball club is only just starting out, with ten players, and Mihashi realizes that there he can still be a pitcher.

The characters

The main character, Mihashi, is bit much at the beginning. He has no self-confidence and speaks haltingly, so it’s hard to understand him at times. As someone with social anxiety, I see Mihashi as very similar (although a bit more extreme) to me. I’ve also seen him headcanoned as autistic, although as a non-autistic person I can’t say how accurate that is.

Abe, the catcher to Mihashi’s pitcher, and his partner in most things. Despite them being partners, Abe has a hard time understanding Mihashi. He has a short temper and a mysterious disdain towards pitchers, due to a bad past experience in middle school, which left an impact on him that shows, even later in the series.

The coach, Momoe Maria! That’s right- the coach is a woman! And she’s a really good character on top of that! She restarts the club as a hardball club and rebuilds it from the ground up. When she was a student, she was the manager of the team, with one other member. But who was this mystery member, and why haven’t they come back to visit?

Shino’oka, the manager! Another female character that contributes a lot to the team. She does most of the data collecting, food prep, etc. the team would truly be lost without her.

Other notable players on the team-

• Tajima, the team’s genius cleanup. Despite being great at everything, he lacks the height and strength needed to be a cleanup. He’s a very fun character, and someone who can understand Mihashi. I’ve seen him headcanoned as having ADHD, but again I don’t have ADHD so I can’t verify that.

• Hanai, who has the height and strength that Tajima lacks. He has a rocky start at the beginning of the show, but he’s a character that I genuinely like. You can see his growth as a character and a player throughout the series.

Here I’d gush about the other members of the team, but honestly that’s too much information for a post trying to get people to watch the show, so I’ll just tell you that the rest of the characters are amazing. Outside of the baseball team, there’s a cheering squad, led by Mihashi’s childhood friend, that supports the team later on in the series.

Other reasons why you should watch!

The characters all care for each other a lot

They are all so close that you could ship anyone on the team and I wouldn’t even bat an eyelash. They are all friends and have very close relationships.

The art style is really cute! Although it’s an older show, the animation isn’t that bad and I really enjoy watching it. (four times)

Sports psychology plays a large part in the show! They talk about training specifics, caloric intake and meals, meditation, how stress can impact plays, etc

Tired of sports anime parents being dead or missing? Look no further! Oofuri has /plenty/ of parents, which all have names, different personalities, and interests. The mothers (and some of the fathers!) show up to the games to cheer. They also become friends with each other, and seeing their interactions is always fun and interesting.

Mihashi makes a bunch of really fun facial expressions, and he’s not the only one! Nearly every character has a moment where they get chibi-fied or have an otherwise funny face.

The humor (in my opinion) is really funny! The characters all interact very well with each other and bounce off each other in funny ways.

There are a lot of great fan artists! @arunneronthird , @jeremy-pakhitou, @watmels , and @queenoftheantz are all really good artists who have drawn for Oofuri, although they aren’t the only ones!

Genuine boys being boys!

The female characters aren’t overly sexualized! The coach has large boobs, but the camera never focuses on them unless the other characters themselves do (this only happens once or twice because. They’re teenage boys. It’s also a character on another team, and he’s not ogling them) they’re also never put in revealing outfits, and there’s no fan service!

The other teams are actual people! They all get names and focus, which is something similar to Haikyuu. The players all joke around with each other and have nicknames for each other, and you can tell there’s a story beyond the one Higuchi-sensei is telling.

Characters are reoccurring. It’s almost guaranteed that you’ll see another character or at least their team again.

The openings and endings are really, really good

It deals with things like injuries in sports, bullying, anxiety, etc

Hand holding is a major plot point

@liberolover24- I'd say honestly an 8/10 since it really is underrated in regards to popularity and other big sports anime. It's also very wholesome and digs into the feelings of the main character who goes through a lot of self deprecation but despite all that hes still wants to try his best and train himself to get better throughout the series. It's also comedic and family friendly

@stylinbreeze60- Oofuri belongs in the category of coming-of-age stories. A good swath of the manga’s drama and appeal rests in futile attempts to communicate as individuals, letting Higuchi display her understanding of communication and inner conflict. Higuchi’s skill as a writer emerges in her handling of exposition- the two talents Asa Higuchi most excels in are complex characters and an intricate understanding of human behavior. A 7/10 if I’m being harsh like an ice skating judge. 9/10 if I’m being biased.

@certified-catboy- 10/10. The character development is immaculate. I don't know what else to add but if you're into character development then consider putting Oofuri on your watchlist.

My mom- 8/10. Didn’t like it at first but would definitely watch a third season if it came out. Enjoys the characters.

Me: 10/10. I’ve watched the anime four times and reread the manga twice, and if that doesn’t convince you that it’s a good show, I don’t know what else will. Also Momoe (the coach) crushes an entire orange in her hands in the first episode.

A critique of the magic knight captain's outfits because that's the kind of mood I'm in.

1. Charlotte

I've decided that she has the best outfit of anyone here.

She's got several colors going on, but most of them are neutral so It's ok

Blue and silver with gold accents isn't really a color scheme you can go wrong with

Could use a little more armor, but overall a rather practical look

Could stand to loose the helmet but overall not bad

10/10 something I would wear

2. Dorothy

I'm loving the energy of the pink in this one.

Honestly very pretty aesthetic

Not a lot going on, pretty much only pink w/ some black and white accents (There are two different shades of pink but that's ok because they're in separate pieces and nothing else is going on)

The green on her hat really helps make the pink less overwhelming, a great choice

Minus points because those shorts look a little bit like underwear and her boots should probably be black.

9/10 wouldn't wear it but I'd recommend a friend

3. The Vermilions:

It's pretty much the exact same outfit but Mereoleona wears it so much better.

The red and orange is kind of a bad combo, and I thought it was basic knowledge that redheads should avoid wearing red

The blue does work to cut this a bit though, so it's not as overwhelming as it could be

Kinda iffy on the pink sash. It really should match the cape by outfit laws, but I think that would put too much red in the entire thing

Fuegoleon you're pretty but that outfit really isn't doing it for you. Minus points for the lack of titty window. In the future show more skin. 6/10

Like I said, it's basically the same outfit, but Mereoleona wears it with a very different energy and manages to make it look good. I get pirate queen vibes. 8.5/10

Overall 7/10; I might wear elements of it.

4. Rill

The clothing needs a different style/cut but the colors are decent.

His cape doesn't class with his hair, and he's got the light colors well balanced with the dark

He looks like he's outgrown his pants though

They're a bit too short to be wearing without boots

And at least wear some socks to cover it up

Gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and say he hit a growth spirt and Walter hasn't had time to let out the hems

Shoes make me think of Tinker belle

Surprisingly not the worst but I am not without criticism.

He's got an aesthetic going that allows him to get away with a bit

As an outfit it's ok, but there's a distinct lack of professionalism going on

Sir are you really going to wear nothing but a tank top 24/7?

Also the over pant thingies make it look like he's wet himself

I like the creativity with the squad robe. No one else wears it like that

His outfit was better when he was with the Grey Deer

Can' figure out what's up with those boots

5/10. I'd never recommend wearing it but it's got a practicality to it.

My dude you're rich enough to afford a stylist.

We're not even talking about the hair at this point, there are so many things that need straightened out

The ocean/teal blue he's got going on does not work with the periwinkle.

Also what's up with the pant leg cut outs. I really fail to understand the practicality of them

I don't have a lot to say. It's pretty bland.

Aside from the buttons + gloves and squad robe, there's not much going on

I don't have many critiques of the squad robe. It's purple and yellow. Nothing too horrible.

5/10. Very generic and boring. Don't like at all but it's hard to come up with concrete bad things

Mass Effect Trilogy Tag

I actually got into the game just after ME2 came out in 2010, when I'd bought a 360 for a much anticipated G1-based Transformers game I'd preordered. I wanted a game to play while I waited and a friend recommended Mass Effect. From that point on, I was hooked.

Favorite game of the series: Mass Effect 2. It's more character driven, sure, but I really like being able to build up relationships and the focus on learning more about the truth of what happened to the Protheans.

MaleShep or FemShep?: I've always played with femShep, and I'll always play femShep in the future.

Earthborn, Colonist or Spacer?: My two main Shepards are Spacer and Colonist respectively, and I like them both for entirely different reasons, and for entirely different levels of angst.

Paragon or Renegade?: I am physically incapable of being intentionally mean to a character in a video game, so most of my playthroughs are overwhelmingly Paragon. Desi leans a little more Paragade but still overall pretty blue.

Biotics or Tech?: Hilariously, for my main Shepard, neither. She's a soldier and she is totally fine with shooting and/or punching a problem she can't talk down until it stops being a problem. But if I had to personally pick, biotics.

Favorite class: Soldier. I know it's the stock Basic Bitch class but it's honestly really fun, and it's just hilarious that this Just A Guy soldier would become the savior of the galaxy when surrounded by space wizards and tech geniuses.

Favorite companion: Garrus is definitely top of the list, followed immediately after by Tali and Kasumi, depending on the mission. They all had some of the best dialogue, and I am terrible at balancing a party.

Least favorite companion: Vega. I love him as a character, but I really was just generally frustrated that he took up the tank slot normally filled by a krogan, and we were denied Baby Boy Grunt. Still love him though.

My squad selection: ME1 - Garrus and Wrex or Garrus and Tali, sometimes Wrex and Tali, ME2 - Garrus and Tali, usually, but occasionally Zaeed and Kasumi for shits and giggles, ME3 - I weirdly never had a set squad but I did usually have Garrus with me.

Favorite in-game romance: Garrus, with Thane a close second despite his treatment by Bioware.

Other pairings I like: Tali/Kal, Sam/Gabby, Joker/Edi

Favorite NPC: Nyreen, Kal'Reegar, Zaal'Koris, and Niftu Cal

Favorite antagonist: I am again a basic bitch and really like Saren. His history fascinates me, and he's honestly a great mirror to hold up of what Shepard could become if they aren't careful.

Favorite mission: Priority: Rannoch. There's just something really heartbreaking but at the same time really sweet about it, depending on how you play it, though I always make peace between the quarians and the geth... which I think lends to the poignancy I feel. Their war ends in peace in the very place it began.

Favorite loyalty mission: Easily Tali's loyalty mission. My heart breaks for her every single time I play through it, especially when she breaks down after finding her father's body. And being able to rally the crowd if you helped Veetor and save Kal is easily my favorite way to solve that mission... unorthodox AND fun.

Favorite DLC: Lair of the Shadow Broker. It has some of the best dialogue in the entire game, including my favorite exchange between Liara and Shepard (see below).

Control, Synthesis or Destroy?: Destroy. The whole twist "but the Reapers aren't really bad they really just want to prove organics and synthetics will never get along" bs never sits well with me when I just made peace between the quarians and the geth and taught an AI to love. I usually use one of the happy ending mods just to clear it out further.

Favorite weapon: M-7 Lancer and M-5 Phalanx, my beloveds.

Favorite place: The Migrant Fleet, for what little time we get to spend there. But part of that is a wish of what could have been- I'd have loved to have seen more of it.

ANARCHY BERYL

Moebius' precious gemstone

Anarchy Beryl is the Moebius equivalent of Chaos Emeralds, both gems giving the user an immense surge of power, and both opposites. Chaos Emeralds only come in 7, however, Anarchy Beryl is the opposite, there's tons of it, 100s, thousands, maybe millions of pieces of the gem around Moebius.

But yet, Anarchy Beryl is only seen once, and in that one Apprearnce, the design is just bad. Officially in Archie, Anarchy Beryl just looks like the green Chaos Emerald, nothing special about it design wise, and I'm here to change that.

The official design of Anarchy Beryl is the green Chaos Emeralds, but just alot of them, and to me? That's pretty uncreative! So, what did I do to it?

I flipped it. I've made the colour purple instead of green, and created 2 forms of Anarchy Beryl, Refined and Unrefined. So, let's get into the Unrefined Anarchy Beryl first.

Unrefined Anarchy Beryl

This is Anarchy Beryl in its unrefined form, less powerful then the Refined version but far more common, this is his you would find the gem just out in the world. In this state Anarchy Beryl is pretty dangerous, sure it looks nice and would make for a neat decoration, but actually using it would be very, insanely dangerous. The gem like this is pretty unstable, and actually absorbing and using its power could give the user tons of side effects, tons of possible issues to face later in life.

Scourge actually used it, when he went Super, this is what he had stashed in his throne, completely unrefined Anarchy Beryl. The only reason it hasn't ruined his life is thanks to his previous exposure to the Master Emeralds power, it helped null the affects of the Anarchy Beryls issue's. However, if you do survive using the gem, and by the end of your Super transformation, you will lose all your energy, strength and overall just become really weak for a little while.

Refined Anarchy Beryl

This is Anarchy Beryl after it has been refined. In this state Anarchy Beryl is useful, not just for world takeover, but for every day use. Anarchy Beryl like this is what you want to use, because now it works like Chaos Emeralds, Strong and Powerful, while not hurting the user, however it is stronger than the Chaos Emeralds, significantly so. You can teleport farther, Super forms last longer, etc, but because of its increased strength it still causes you to feel weaker per use, and once you come out of your Super form you will be completely worn out, unlike the Chaos Emeralds.

The shape of the Gem matters, it can come in many different shapes, and depending on that changes how strong the gem is in that field. The Anarchy Beryl is great at everything no matter the shape, but the shape makes one area amazing. For example, sharp Anarchy Beryl increases the gem's power, how strong you get from the gem, sharp Anarchy Beryl allows the user to tap into its Super Strength easier. Then there are the Oval ones, these allow easier and stronger access into Anarchy Beryl's Anarchy Force, E.G the equivalent of Shadow's abilities, like teleportation, time manipulation, magical attacks. The next form is the Marquise Anarchy Beryl leans towards the Speed aspect of the Gem, allowing you to react and move significantly faster than before, and for Speedsters (Such as Scourge) it can make them go far beyond their limit. Then the last one I'll talk about here is the Radient Anarchy Beryl, this version of the Gem is best if you're looking for one that focuses on all areas of Anarchy, it's Great in everything, but not amazing in anything, basically it's what you want to start learning how to use Anarchy Beryl with.

Now, there are more types, each different Shape you make Anarchy Beryl into can change the outcome. There's Round, Emerald, Asscher, Princess, Pear and heart left, and I'll leave that up to your guys.

Monarchy Beryl

The Monarchy Beryl, Moebius' Master Emerald. This artifact, this powerful gem, the ruler of Anarchy, hasn't been seen in 100's of years. Why? It was destroyed, in a war, centuries ago.

Back in the old days of Moebius, long before any of the Suppression Squad were born, there was a tribe of Echidna, isolated on Angel Island, the floating Island above the ocean. The tribe were peaceful, looking out for eachother, sworn to pacifism and always willing to help a stranger, they were the guardians, the protectors of the Monarchy Beryl, and it was their God.

Then, the "Land Dwellers" as the Echidna's called them, they were selfish, in it for themselves and wanted power, and there was a race guarding the most powerful thing on the planet, so what did they do? They attacked, they raided Angel Island, they went to war with the Tribes. This war went of the weeks, ending with alot of lives lost, but the Echidna's victory. But...the Land Dweller's were not having this loss. If they can't have the Monarchy Beryl, no-one can.

One last time the Land Dweller's went to Angel Island, but not for a fight, but a terrorist attack. Using new technology they sent a handful of bombers, and sent them straight to the Gem, and, they blew it up, into tiny pieces to broken to ever put the Gem back together. And...we all know what happens when Angel Island's Gem is destroyed...the Island fell, straight into the ocean, the force of the fall, the force of the landing, the tidal waves and all the rubble and destruction caused by this wiped out the majority of the Echidna race. This was a mass extinction event, and, a couple 100 years later, only one Echidna Remains. O'Knux, Sunken Island's protector. And all he wants is to uncover his extinct race's history before he dies, taking the Echidna's with him.

The Monarchy Beryl no longer exists by the time of the Suppression Squad, it's lost to time, only in what little remaining artwork and writing survived the Echidna Extinction. No Chaos, no Tikal, Just Moebians fighting over power.

The history of Anarchy Beryl

Anarchy was Discovered early in Moebius' documented history, thanks to it being naturally stronger in some Moebians, and this lead early philosophicers to believe there was more to it, eventually finding the the rock underground, in mountains, cliffs, even boulders, it was everywhere. They learnt the 2 were connected because the Beryl glowed when In contact with a Moebian strong with the Anarchy Force, and this led to test after test, all culminating with Anarchy Beryl becoming one of Moebius' most expensive gemstones, if not one of the most expensive things, even though it's high in quantity. Anarchy Beryl was tested on lots, and only a couple hundred years after its discovery was it learnt that the gem acts differently when in different shapes, this being used to the advantage of the people. Anarchy Beryl was quickly integrated into every day life, and it still is to this very day.

Before the days of the Suppression Squad, Anarchy Beryl was used as tool for any everyday folk, it being useful for any task, and anyone could use it because it was so easy to get. However, once the Suppression Squad came into the picture, Anarchy Beryl was one of their favourite tools. So, they took it. They took almost all of the world's Anarchy Beryl for themselves and if someone didn't give theirs to them? They'd hurt, maim and make a message out of them, showing they won't have people say no. The Suppression Squad took it for themselves because it allows them to have easy access to Power. However, Once Scourge started going too far, making himself ruler instead of Alicia, taking Actual lives, attacking peaceful people and overall being awful, the Suppression Squad hid the Anarchy Beryl across the globe, and made sure Scourge had no idea where it was, unfortunately for them, he had a stash in his throne.

What actually is "Anarchy" on Moebius?

Anarchy on Moebius is just like Chaos on Mobius, but to the 2 universes, they're looked at differently. Anarchy and Chaos is the mystical energy that allows both universes to exist, it's the all-encompasing energy of the universe. Everyone has it. Scourge has it, Miles has it, even Boomer has it, you could have that power too. These forces are in everyone, stronger in others, it's more or less every magical ability we see in Sonic, for Example, Shadows abilities are Chaos, he has them from his strong connection to the Chaos Force. Same all goes for Moebius, Anarchy and Chaos are the same, just named differently.

Whelp. That's my take on Anarchy Beryl, what did you think? Is it an improvement? Is it a downgrade? What about design wise, do you prefer the official or my designs?

Honestly, I kinda wish we saw it more (wow shocker), but in all seriousness I think it did deserve more time to shine. The idea of an Anti/opposite Chaos Emerald is neat in my opinion, but like most of Moebius, it was underused and then the lawsuit happened, causing it to be forgotten.

Mingi as a demigod (and your boyfriend)

Mingi was always a lazy person who found it difficult to be punctual and maintain an orderly lifestyle. However, he always did things well even if he had no idea what he was doing.

And things didn't change when he arrived at Camp Half-Blood, after trying to be killed by a minotaur as he walked back home.

After being claimed by his father, the God of war, Mingi continued with his same attitude as always and, unintentionally, quickly climbed into the hierarchy of his cabin. He was just good at fighting, he was honestly the best, even though he never had any training in the art of war.

He only had fun with Apollo's sons and daughters and yet no one was able to beat him in a battle. The laurel crown was his over a year ago and no one could take it away from him.

But everything changed when you arrived.

"Who is he?" Mingi asked one of his sisters who was observing all the commotion that was forming in the camp due to the arrival of a squad commanded by you.

"He is a roman demigod, one of the leaders of Camp Jupiter, the only child of Bellona the goddess of war, destruction and devastation"

"Uff, it's a very long and intimidating name for a boy. I bet he's not that good"

With determined and somewhat haughty steps, Mingi came towards you with his chin up to ask you to a duel. The warriors under your command looked at each others scared when they heard Mingi challenging you. What did you do? You laughed at him and then completely ignored him.

Or at least that's what Mingi believed because even though it didn't seem like it, you really paid attention to him. At a glance you realized that, after being rejected, that son of Ares made vibrate some swords while walking back to his cabin.

You had a slight suspicion of why that happened but there was only one way to check it.

It was a normal day after a chat with the director of the Greek camp, you were on the banks of the great lake meditating when you felt a familiar sensation in your stomach. Someone was watching you. With a single movement, you unsheathed your sword and threw it towards where your instincts told you.

"If this were a real fight you would already be dead" Your sword was pointed at his forehead as it floated in midair. With a single wave of your hand, your sword turned towards you and came back to its place.

"What... Ho-how did you do that? You... how did you manage to stop it before... and..."

"I didn't stop it, you did" Mingi's eyes widened, looking at you in surprise. "The weapons obey you, they will do whatever you tell them to do. You can even fight with them even if you don't have them in your hands"

"But my brothers cannot do that"

"That is because only a few are blessed with the gifts of their parents. Some children of Apollo can heal, others cannot. They are gifts that have to be used and I am willing to help you, son of Ares, even if it goes against my principles as a descendant of a Roman Goddess "

And that was how Mingi, dumbfounded by the way your tan skin shone in the sun's rays, agreed to train with you.

Things were going well, too well. Mingi was more powerful than you imagined and could follow your strict training without problems.

As the days passed, your stomach felt strange sensations and it wasn't your sixth sense. It was something else.

"Am I in love with a Greek demigod? Oh my Jupiter"

On the other hand, Mingi was totally in love with you. Every cell in his body went into ecstasy every morning when he saw you, he seemed to be flying through the clouds every time he saw you smile and the mere fact of listening to your compliments when he did something right blushed his cheeks.

"He is very cute"

"I think you are the only person in the world who thinks that he is cute. Brother, every time I look at him I feel like a deer being analyzed by its predator. He's scary"

"Yeah, that's one of his many charms. Ahh, he's magnificent"

Your swords collided, they withdrew and returned to find ways to outdo each other and catch up with their opponent. A slight whistle accompanied the movement of both, indicating the speed of your movements and your location.

"I'm sorry to inform you that this fight will be won by me" Mingi said as his eyes closely followed you.

"Don't sing victory yet, redhead"

Your swords collided again and both of you continued to dance across the training ground in a fight that never seemed likely to end because neither was ready to lose.

You, who at the time were leading the initiative, attacked while Mingi defended himself. He leaped back, accurately moved his hand, and one of his two swords, which he had previously lost in a counterattack against you, shot out at top speed. You barely had enough time to turn around and dodge the attack, consequently your opponent's weapon cut a piece of your purple cloak that was part of your armor.

"Well if this was a real fight you would already be dead" The cold metal of his weapon was leaning against your neck while a silly little smile was drawn on his lips as you stood up slowly. "Can I sing victory now?"

"I don't think so" The smile on his face faded when he saw out of the corner of his eye your great sword, pointed at him in midair. "I think you are dead"

"Yeah, but dead of love for you"

Your eyes widened like saucers and Mingi's hand that didn't hold the sword opened, letting it drop to the ground. His cheeks started to turn deep red like his hair as he tried to look anywhere but you.

Hell, he had screwed up. Surely you were going to reject him, surely you would laugh at...

"In that case... I guess I'm dead too" Before Mingi could understand your answer, your strong arms were around his waist, drawing him towards you. You were so close that you could smell the sweet scent of his cologne, your noses were rubbing against each other and your lips were only a few millimeters apart. "I... I also like you, too much for my liking but I couldn't help it"

Mingi leaned his head forward and kissed you, softly at first, and then with immense passion causing you to cling to him as if there was no tomorrow. His lips were caressing your trembling lips, sending shocks of electricity along your back, causing emotions that you had never thought you were capable of feeling.

Mingi almost went crazy when you confessed with a blush on your cheeks that he was your first boyfriend. For that reason, you weren't quite sure how to act in certain situations.

Despite being stoic, strict and not very good with words, Mingi knew that you loved him because your actions showed it. For example: the time you were training and it started to rain, without thinking twice you took off your cape to cover Mingi so he wouldn't catch a cold.

HE LOVES PLAYING WITH YOUR LONG HAIR. He could be brushing, stroking, or just playing with it all day.

"Just relax, I'll wash your hair for you"

He is capable of sending a sword flying to anyone who dares to speak ill of you.

"I'd fight the whole world for you and I don't care how cheesy that sounds"

Mingi says and does things on purpose to embarrass you for his own amusement such as calling you by cute nicknames in front of your legion or dancing while he was wearing your golden armor.

You haven't tell the others about your relationship but all the demigods in both camps know that your are a couple.

Gets giggle because of your existence and blushes when you kiss him.

The biggest cuddle bear ever.

When you had to leave Camp Half-Blood to return to Camp Jupiter Mingi did his best to keep you from leaving but, unfortunately, it was your duty and you had to leave. The first night without you he cried because he missed you.

Now, Mingi is only in Camp Half-Blood the summers, the rest of the days he lives in Camp Jupiter with you.

He sleeps on your chest because he says your skin is very soft and warm, he feels calm and protected in your arms.

"You're ridiculously comfortable"

His cellphone password is the date of your birthday and as a wallpaper he has a photo of you smiling after the daughters of Venus combed your hair in a large braid decorated with flowers.

Every summer at Camp Half-Blood, Mingi tells the new demigods how magnificent his boyfriend is, telling them that he is the most powerful person ever born, that perhaps you were the reincarnation of a hero like Hercules. Sometimes just to bother you, he tells you to go to the camp to sign autographs because everyone admires you but not as much as he does.

Worries about your safety 24/7.

"Zeus, I was very worried"

"It was just a reconnaissance mission, baby. There's nothing to worry about"

You never fight, you have a healthy and prosperous relationship, but sometimes when you have had a stressful day you ignore each other unintentionally.
