January Angel Fish Awards

Every month all of you fantastic writers work your asses off to post some truly incredible stories. Our Angel Fish Awards are the way for all of us, as a community of writers and readers, to lift each other up and give praise to those who have captured our attention and deserve a few kind words.

The monthly Angel Fish Awards are peer-nominated, meaning ANYONE IN THE POND CAN NOMINATE ANY POND MEMBER’S FIC. While the Pond was founded to support the Guppies, everyone in this community deserves to be showered with love and feedback, and we hope that by opening this up as a Pond wide system, we’ll be able to share the love as far as it can go.

Jen’s fics are always so well written and detailed to a point where it feels like it could actually happen. Not to mention her characterization is on point. This fic in particular is different from what I’ve read before and everyone should give it a chance.

How You & I Will Be (series) by @katehuntington

I’m nominating this fic, which (fair disclosure) I beta’d becuase it does a really really really really great job of fulfilling the brief it set out to achieve: making you cry.

It’s a story of unrequited love between Dean and the reader and it’s doomed, from the outset. Kate unpacks nearly every angle and moment and hold them up for you as they burn away, right in from of your eyes. Ruby-level patience. Nice at brutal.

So if you like your angst and tears, have at it friends. Cheers, Ali.

I'm not afraid of thunder, but I definitely felt the fear. I'd totally pretend to be if it meant Dean would distract me this way! I loved the addition of Dean telling the reader what his own biggest fear is! Hot!

The First Bite (oneshot) by @shy-violet-soul

Firstly, can I just say that I am absolutely in love with their work? The writer is so sure of what they want to say and know exactly how to say it. And that is a rare thing, when no word is unnecessary. I absolutely fell in love with the characterization of young Dean and Sam. And the OCs are enchanting. Don’t remember the last time I fell in love with an OC so quickly! And the husband-wife duo in the fic are simply adorable. The context and background of the story paint a lovely picture. And Dean… damn that boy breaks your heart. All in all would recommend it 100% Go check the author out!

The Babysitter (series) @mrswhozeewhatsis

I never thought I would ever commit to a 65 chapter series, but damn! this one felt like a couple of pages, and even after it ended, I was running around my room, screaming like a zombie with “MOREEEEEEEEEEEE.” This could have very well been a parallel world in itself. Like another reality that Jack could create a rift to, where the Winchesters are happy. They have this sister/mother/friend figure in their lives who is absolutely awe-inspiring. She is tender, good and badass but oh so realistic with her feelings. I go back and read the timestamps a lot and my fav chapter where they are in the hotel room at the very end and prank the hell out of everyone else. I was in splits the first time and still am. This doesn’t white wash John, but brings out the best in him. JUST. GO. READ IT. You are fucking welcome!

Living With Regrets (series) by @thing-you-do-with-that-thing

The pain!! OH GOD THE PAIN!! The author can personally attest to how I hounded her over this series in her IMs. The timing of each chapter is so perfect that it just leave you with the right amount of angst and desperation for the next chapter. I wanted to push both the characters together and close the door behind them so they could just fucking TALK!! I am emotional about this okay? Also while I wanted to hug and cuddle the little OC, I wanted to strangle and murder the other one!! This series brought out quite a lot of passion in me, one that I didn’t know I had the capacity of feeling over a fictional work, still does. It is an adorable little world that you all should definitely be a part of! Go…go….go!!

Silk and Rough Velvet (series) by @blacktithe7

SARV was the first long series I attempted to read. Also the first AU. It altered my life. Rockstar!Jensen suddenly became a real thing. Y'all have no clue how much this series had awed me. Even now when I mention the series to a third party, my first reaction is - “You haven’t read it? What are you doing with your life?” It has the perfect amount of love, angst and fluff. Gosh! It is the freaking best! Most days there are no words. Today is one of them!

Series Rewrite (series) @torn-and-frayed

A true masterpiece! I don’t know how do you even begin to attempt something like this. The reader is inserted in the rewrite SO FLAWLESSLY!!! SO EFFORTLESSLY that it is crazy! Like what even??? I mean she has a personality of her own. And as strong a presence as Sam or Dean. More importantly, she does not undermine the relationship of the brothers. Does not take away from their moments, all the while creating her own bonds. I love that she is in love with Dean. But damn, I love what she has with Sam, too. The author manages to perfectly capture the essence of the rewrite in the best way possible. Excellent job!

Fresh Start (series) by @like-a-bag-of-potatoes

This one is unique in it’s uncomplicatedness (that isn’t a word, but deal with it) Like whoa, the reader is so fucking relatable! I am sure all authors can relate when they make a reader super-strong, super-understanding, super-witty. This one is just super-relatable. And that is the hardest fucking thing to do! The OC is charming AF, and the underlying pain of a dead lover is significant. It is not in your face, it is not too underplayed, but it’s subtle and THERE. Kudos at having achieved the perfect balance of everything. It is rare and awesome! Read this ONE!

Close Every Door (series) by @jotink78

I have never known the sort of pain and angst that this series inflicted on me, I kid you not. I wanted to steamroll everyone,and everybody. If you caught me reading a chapter, there was a good chance that I was either feeling extremely murderous and was sobbing incessantly in the corner. I’ve said it before, despite being one of the kindest people, the author sure knows how to be cruel when it comes to writing. This series is sure to rip your freaking heart part, stomp all over it and out it back. BUT SO WORTH IT!!

More Than You Bargained For (series) by @luci-in-trenchcoats

Best bodyguard!AU I have ever read. It was fun and exciting without getting too palpitating, which is good because the chase and suspense were fantastically written. And the twist at the end, you’d never fucking see that coming. I bet!! I love how they slowly fall for each other even through all their differences. This one I couldn’t put down, it was so good. If you are looking for something to curl up with on a cozy and comfortable Saturday, this is your THING!! Don’t forget to curl in with a blanket and hot mug of coffee before you get started!

Five years of Christmas (oneshot) by @deanssweetheart23

This is a life worth’s contentment packed in a single fic, neatly wrapped and gifted to you. The words have the softness of petals and the harshness of shards of ice that pierce you and then you die! But then come back later. The author doesn’t only make fiction out the words…. she makes poetry. It flows, straight into your heart. Now, you might think I am being cheesy, but read the fic and then come back. We’ll see who is cheesy then! But seriously, y'all need to get behind this. It is the freaking best. I am in love <3

Wishverse (series) by @crashdevlin

This series is a sequel to another series, A Hard Ten. After what happens in Hard Ten, the reader gets her wish and goes back in time, getting the chance to metaphorically turn left instead of right. It’s got sweetness and smutty smut and angst and everything you could ever want! Seeing how everything plays out is fascinating as hell, and I can’t wait to see where this ends up!

Evie’s advice for feeling better! (submitted so I don’t send a bajillion asks)

I can’t make you feel better, but I can tell you how I got on the path to a better mental health!

First of all, in general, leave your judgement at the door. Both for yourself and my advice. Tumblr is infamous for responses to advice that consist of “what kind of neurotypical bullshit is this?” The thing is, saying that is ultimately proving my point that people on tumblr do not want to heal. Every bit of advice in those posts are valid.

The band-aid analogy:

It is so easy to wallow in self pity and receive cheap validation from people online, but in the end, it isn’t helping. Think about it like this: you fell on the playground and scraped up your knee really bad. In this analogy, scraping your knee will be the stand in for mental health. You have two options now. You can either let it sit there and fester and *maybe* eventually it will heal, but it will take longer, heal up all icky, and maybe even get infected. This is the equivalent of using tumblr and just letting your problems sit there and never do anything about it. Best case scenario, the problems will slowly fade away, but you never learned how to properly handle them and in the long run it only hurts you. If you don’t take care of your problems, you run the risk of them getting worse (like an infection), coming back again later (picking at a scab), or just letting them sit there forever and leave a big ugly scar that you could have prevented with hard work and perseverance.

How you actually need to care for an open wound like that is a long and boring process, but the results will show up faster and be much better in the long run. The first step is washing it off. This can be the equivalent of simply realizing there is a problem and deciding to take action. Then after that, you want to disinfect the wound. This is finding the source of your problems and removing it if at all possible. In my case, my parents are emotionally and physically abusive. How I ‘disinfect’ is I’m working really hard to move out on my own. But maybe not all of us have a way to get the icky nasty “germs” of our problems out of our lives right now, and that’s okay! It’s totally possible to heal if you don’t, it’s just a little bit harder. After that, you want to get some neosporin and a band-aid. These are your friends, families, therapists, your support group. These might help keep more icky stuff out of the wound, and can help reverse damage. After that, you need to remember to change the band-aid sometimes. This is the equivalent of seeing your therapist, talking to a friend or adult you trust, and making sure you keep lots of love around you so that the nastiness can’t get to you. Maybe sometimes you may even need to take medications to make extra sure you don’t get sick. This is totally ok!!! The medicine is always going to be to help you. It is just another layer of help for your scrape. Don’t demonize pills. They’re here to help too.

But wait, there’s more!

So you’ve started healing, but you still feel bad. That’s ok, it happens to the best of us. Here are 100% real and helpful tips to help feel better, tested and trusted by me!

Get active! I’m being serious. Being active gets your blood moving and makes your brain release happy juices that will make you feel better. Go for a jog, ride a bike, swim, play a sport, anything that gets you up and moving! You can always find something to do. And as a bonus, you might even lose a little weight. This can really help for people who don’t like how they look. I know it can be really really hard sometimes, but if you make yourself do it, you will feel better. Reward yourself if you have to! But you have to get up and get going, even if you really, really, really don’t want to. (It is okay if some days you just can’t. You just have to make sure that it doesn’t happen often. I give myself one “can’t do it” day a month, and most of the time now, I don’t even use them.)

Drink lots of water! Yes, I know soft drinks and juices are yummy, but they’re really not good for you in more ways than one. Your body needs normal water. That’s what makes it work. There is water in juices and soft drinks of course, but your body will take in normal water so much better. If you absolutely have to, they make sugar free water flavorings (Crystal light, for example) that come in lots of flavors and aren’t quite as bad. Start off with one whole 16 oz bottle of water a day, and build up over time. I drink between 2 and 3 bottles a day, and the recommended amount is 4 bottles. You can have juice and soft drinks sometimes, but it should be a rare treat! Milk is also good, but you have to drink water. Stay hydrated, and I promise you will feel a difference.

Hygiene! I know some days it feels so good to just lay in bed and do nothing, but you have to take care of yourself. Showers are my absolute best friend for my depression days. I even have a waterproof speaker that I take in the shower with me and play music on, and sometimes I even sing along, hairbrush microphone and all. You can even dance if you want to, but be careful and don’t slip. If all you can do is take a shower, be sure to wash your hair and body. If that’s all you can do today, that’s good! But you have to at least do that. I even recommend opting for a shower over a bath, since standing up means you have to use your muscles a little bit. Baths are for my good days, and usually I will take a bath with the most sparkly bath bomb I can find! The more you can do to take care of yourself, the better you will feel. My routine, for example, is to wash my hair, then my body, then shave, then do a sugar scrub, then shave again, then dry off and put on lotion. It’s a lot, but my legs feel soft and smooth and that makes me really really really happy! Sometimes I don’t make it all the way through my routine, but I go as far as I can. Of course, your routine is yours to make, but that one is mine.

Meditate. This one is good for any time you’re stressing out and also really good before bed to help sleep. Guided meditations are super easy to find for free online. Of you like ASMR, you can even just close your eyes and listen. I personally don’t like ASMR, so I listen to ambiance. They’re all over YouTube and have all kinds of themes like city noises, thunderstorms, the forest, the ocean, white noise, gentle music, and even some specific themed ones like riding in a horse-drawn carriage down a cobblestone road. I also really like gregorian chants.

Breathing exercises! Just like meditation, but faster and you can do it anywhere!

Stim toys! I shouldn’t have to explain this one.

Crying! Seriously, a nice long sob after a bad day releases all kinds of happy brain juices and it honestly just feels so good sometimes. It is 100% okay to cry.

Get offline! Read a book, put together a puzzle, color, just get away from a screen for a while.

There is all kinds of stuff you can do, but this is just a few examples of some of the ones I use. This is heavily geared towards depression/anxiety, since those are my biggest issues, but these are also the most common problems that people with mental illnesses have. Find things that are productive and make you feel better and suit your needs, but you absolutely have to keep going. Even when you really, really, really don’t want to. It is hard work, but it is so worth it and it gets easier. Just like fighting addiction, it gets easier with time. We’re all addicted to.our own misery, and that’s bad.

It also helps to avoid anything that might trigger you. However, if you do see it, don’t panic. Don’t talk about it, just take a deep breath and move on. Block the tag or blog if you have to. Ultimately, it is up to you to take care of that yourself.

Behind the Scenes: POLYSWAP EDITION

Polyswap, despite its cutesy nautical theme and multitude of party snail snolyamory (snail polyamory), takes a lot of work to run. We're going to give you guys a quick summary of some of what goes into making this whole thing possible! Check under the cut for a summary of what we do and how we do it.

Pre-May 10th: POLYSWAP HYPE! Our goal here is to get the word out, and get as many people interested as possible. Reblogs are SUPER HELPFUL, and we appreciate each and everyone of them. Behind the Scenes: We're checking on the tags, comments, and additions made to EVERY SINGLE REBLOG. If people post questions, or seem confused, we'll send them a message or ask to offer clarification or further help. We also make the collections, and have to set the rules + challenge info + basic settings for what you guys do and don't need to fill out. One wrong button click might mean a "Collection Oops"...which means everyone who signed up might just have to sign up all over again.

May 10th to May 25th: SIGNUPS! We get ours done, and make sure you guys do so too! Again, a CRAP TON of reblogging and posting about signups happens here. Behind the Scenes: We check every single sign up, and make sure they're Derse/Prospit appropriate. If they’re not, we contact the Swapper with suggestions and questions. We're still checking the reblogs for questions and concerns that might pop up, and helping people with signups if they need any assistance. This is also a point where we're generally fielding a TON of questions about what to do and how to do it and what is or isn't okay.

May 26th to June 4th: MATCHING TIME. Behind the Scenes: Literally EVERYTHING is behind the scenes. Here's how it works:

AO3 generates matches. There will usually be some kind of an issue.

The original matches are copy + pasted into a spreadsheet, and every single match is rated for compatibility.

Certain signups have been done inaccurately—for example, someone might have said "I can do everyone, but there are only 20 character signups, so I listed my favorites", or "The ten I put down are the ten I CAN'T do". These signups are edited to more accurately reflect the real offer.

The matches are generated again!

We go back in, and rate ALL of the new matches. Old ratings carry over from the first sheet.

If any new matches are good, they get to stay! If formerly good matches get broken up, they might be re-matched at this point.

Every match that isn't "Good" or "Amazing" is broken. We're generally at four spreadsheets by now—Trial One, Trial Two, Finals, and Edits.

The unmatched people are put into the Edits Page, while the matched pairs are left on the Finals Page.

From here, we go through and check which prompts are compatible with which offers. GENERALLY we try to find at least one to two prompts that would work for an offer.

In a worst case scenario, where matching someone might be impossible without reshifting the whole sheet, we'll message someone and ask if they're willing to expand their offer.

We also work with people who might have questions or concerns about who they're paired with or who's paired with them, to make sure they're matched to the best of our abilities

Most of us mods will already have our assignments, which means we usually start working on them a little bit early, so that when push comes to shove, we'll be able to take on Very Last Minute Shit.

From May 25th to July 10th, we're also trying to recruit pinch hitters!

June 29th: DEFAULT DEADLINE! On the surface, we're checking in with people and making sure things are running smoothly. Prior to June 29th, we're also working with Swappers who might be worried about their assignments, or are unsure of how to fill them. Behind the Scenes: Once people start defaulting, we're posting to the Pinch Hitter page. The goal here is to coordinate with people, to give them as much time as possible, while also making sure their work's been finished. For this reason, we generally ask pinch hitters not to take on an assignment until their own is complete. This year, both collections are moderated. This means that works can't be posted unless they're approved—so from the moment that assignments start coming in, we're going to be hand-checking each and every one of them. If an assignment is improperly tagged, or completely goes against the prompt request (for example, if someone wanted erifefsol, nepjaderox, or davesolkat, but their gifter did a fefnepkat fill), we'll work with the gifter to make sure that all guidelines are met.

July 10th to July 15th: DUE DATES AND EXTENSIONS! Everything is Officially due on the 10th, but Life Happens—which is why we may grant a few extra days (anywhere from one to five) if we deem it necessary. Behind the Scenes: FILL ALL THE THINGS. This is where we're doing the last minute vetting, and, on occasion, writing 5k words in less than 24 hours to make sure the last five requests don’t go unfilled. We're also checking in with everyone who's overdue, and trying to encourage them or help them finish up what they're working on. Last year, extensions went right up until the collection opened. Due to the large size of the collection, and its moderated status, extensions will go no farther than midnight (or 11:59 PM) on the 15th.

July 15th to July 17th: ANXIOUS WAITING, COLLECTION OPENS! OH SHIT WHADDUP that's your gift!! It'll show up on the 17th, all bright and shiny. Behind the Scenes: OH MY GOD IT'S LAST MINUTE FILLS TIME. Generally, this falls to your mods! On occasion, we have VERY KIND FRIENDS who will help us out with this most stressful and strenuous part of Polyswap.

July 17th to July 25th: TREATS COLLECTION TIME! All prompts are revealed on the 17th, and the Polyswap Presents Collection will be open to submit to. The goal here is to get your stuff in by the 25th! Behind the Scenes: Mod Sky sneakily submits all the THANK YOU SO MUCH gifts they've been writing as soon as it opens. This collection will also be moderated, so while you're all enjoying your gifts (and we're enjoying ours!!), we'll be checking over the submissions that get sent here!

July 25th: AUTHORS REVEALED. Bask in the glory, y'all. Behind the Scenes: FINALLY, TIME TO RELAX. (But also, we'll still be checking on the Polyswap Presents Collection, and approving submissions to it.) (And planning for next year.) (And working on prompts to queue.) (And thinking about Other Events we could do.) (And–)

My showmance Ashley Sarah is gone and I'm SO SAD but I'm more sad that Francie and Amanda didn't tell me how they were voting, but I'm just so excited that for at least a little while no one knew we were best friends and we got to play together, she was ROBBED and should have been the first member of the jury but it was fun playing with her and i hope she wins the record for the most votes casted against her in the season hehe. Going forward I'm going to be loyal to Will and probably only Will, everyone else is a RAT and I can't wait to get rid of Gwen still for swiping RIGHT on me.

It's merge time and the INFP's are reunited once more! I'm so happy to have us back together again. We might have to do some recruiting, though. Holy SHIT I found the idol???? I just spent so much time doing all of that and I actually found it I am so proud of myself oh my god this is beautiful this is amazing I feel blessed I feel incredible. This could easily be what carries me through these next few votes if anything starts to look fishy... and I'm loving it.

I'M SO MAD!!!! I wanted another idol and someone else got it :(. I do have my Espiriro idol, though, which is beneficial to my game. I'm really nervous about the next tribal council because my team won the competition, but that sent Emily to tribal council. I hope the can make amends with the majority and be able to survive.

We had a """""""""reward""""""""" challenge that had me and amanda on a team together and we won and it turned out to not be reward and were immune! but emily and francie are not but they seem to be on lock so it should be okay. Will has been a little shady and im like 75% sure he found the merge idol BECAUSE amanda and I went on a spree and finished the hunt and it was gone so :\\\ very disappointing but ive never won a game where ive had an advantage and i did win when i had no advantages so its all fine and dandy we still good! Well, after a long night of idol hunting, we have realized that the idol, in fact, has already been found. Iconic? I love flopping. But my favorite part of this was being on call with the INFPs!!! I love them. I feel like the bad decisions made by the cracked INFPs sprung from Toph and Raffy... I'm hoping that Amanda G, Bryce, and I can make some smart moves and not flop? Amanda Lyn: I thought I wasn't gonna like her when I first started, but I've actually grown to like her but like girlll she does the most when it comes to the immunities. Emily, myself and her are playing the bet games I feel right now but tbh they've probably done a better job at hiding their tracks then I have, and put more effort than I do. Bryce/Will ( because they are literally the same person in this game playing the same game): honestly Bryce is my pick to be in the final 3 but I wouldn't be surprised if will was there too. So I'm one of the 6 going to tribal today and I'm a tad nervous. I'm happy that I have Francie, Ruthie and Emily with me but when there's half of the players going to tribal and then another half of us watching our decisions whilst still in the game. The consequences could be really bad.

This would be a great confessional to have recorded because I just have so much to say but I look absolutely horrendous so I'm not going to make you suffer through that.

So the gist of this round, I hate it. I'm going to tribal tonight and I knew for a fact I wanted to vote with Francie. Francie did not seem to want to vote with the original Salao tribe members even though they were more than willing to do so. I was unsure about how Francie was planning on voting which was why I didn't want to make plans with Gwen and Michael last night. Now, that has come to bite me in the ass because now that I ACTUALLY want to vote out Ruthie and vote with Gwen and Michael, MICHAEL WANTS TO TARGET ME! And honestly, the last thing I want to do is scramble right now! I don't know what to do! I feel like I can't message him because then he'll know I'm getting word from everyone that he's spreading things around that I'm dangerous and all this stuff. And like, smart of him for figuring it out. I don't think many other people have. But if I can just get Francie, Amanda Lynn, and Ali to get my name out of Michael's head, I think I'll be fine. Francie won't vote against me and I know that like 90%. Michael, Gwen, Ruthie, and Mo, however: wildcards! I haven't talked to Ruthie at all and Mo and I have talked no game. I have wanted to vote with Gwen and Michael from the moment they messaged us last night but I was unsure because of FRANCIE! I think I might be safe tonight, but I'm truly not sure. I think the pros and cons of voting out all of these different people are like all over the place, but I'll try to figure them out.

Voting out Michael pros: one less person targeting me. Voting out Michael cons: he could expose me in his last words, Ali is close to him and I get information from Ali, it would further confirm his theory about me being a mastermind. (HONESTLY, THIS BOY IS NEVER ACTIVE BUT NOW THAT HE IS HE DECIDES TO TARGET ME? NOT CUTE!) Voting out Ruthie pros: I prove to Michael that I'm loyal, I get out someone I have not spoken to at all. Voting out Ruthie cons: Voting with Michael could result in me getting voted out. I just got out of a call with Francie and we discussed a plan. I am going to get her to suggest to Michael that this tribal be a test of my loyalties. I told her to tell Michael that she thinks I'm going to vote with them. If the votes end up being 4-2, then I voted with them and I can be trusted. If the votes are 3-3, then they can vote me out in a revote. I'm hoping Michael agrees to this plan, votes out Ruthie, and I can prove a bit of my allegiance to him. Even though I have none. I just don't want him throwing my name around like this is some baseball game??? PLEASE leave me alone, dearest Michael! I am probably going to stress cry over this tribal. I don't want to leave. And then I won't be able to talk to Amanda G or Bryce and I DON'T WANT THAT! I'm like severely in danger because of this stupid twist (Just to clarify, it's not stupid, I'm just sad about how it's affecting me.).

Michael honestly was not on my radar at all before this round. But BOY he is now. I know I can't vote him out this round because that would probably put a bigger target on my back. And I know I can't call him out. I'm not messy like that. And that would ruin my allies' games too. But the moment I get the chance to vote him out, he's gone. My biggest fear is that Michael and Gwen sway Ruthie and Mo to their side and vote me out like that. That would suck for me. That would suck for Francie too. Especially because she's planning on voting for someone who was close-ish with.

Also, Michael claimed to Francie that I was in a pre-made alliance with Toph which is bullshit! If I had known how cracked that boy was BEFORE the game I would've voted him out first. How rude of Michael to assume I'm silly like that. I still love Toph, don't get me wrong. But :0

I'm trying to get more information from Ali. I think Michael will tell Ali his final plans for this tribal and Ali can then tell me. If Michael wants to vote with me, then good. If Michael decides to get Mo and Ruthie on his side and vote me out, then I will have to beg Amanda G for her idol. If she gives it to me and I play it, I'll claim that's what I won in the auction. That'll be my lame excuse. But it'll keep me a bit safer for another round? Who knows I DON'T KNOW! That's a bad plan. I won't do that. But I just DON'T WANT TO GO HOME!!!!

I'm just waiting for Amanda G to come online so I can talk to her about this whole situation. I'm very worried and her idol would very much come in handy right now? But I also don't think I'll have to use it if Ali and Francie can protect me enough. AHHHHH! I also feel shitty making Francie low key blindside Ruthie but like... Oopsie. She and Michael are totally right about me orchestrating Nayeli's tribal. And they totally found me out. But I have ties with the right people, I suppose, and I think I have the votes to stay this round. AHHHH???????

I think my favorite part about this is that Gwen and Michael are, in fact, correct in their assuming I orchestrated stuff and that I have a good social game. And I recognize that this is going to probably make my target even bigger, but I need Michael or Gwen out. And soon. I don't think Gwen is going to end up going after Amanda Lynn until I'm gone. So I'm going to make sure Gwen leaves before I do? And Michael has been talking the most shit to Francie, Ali, and Amanda Lynn about me. Mo told me he thinks Michael will go next. Okay so I forgot to send in a confessional this round so I'm using speech to text to make sure that I get in all my thoughts before the deadline. Hopefully autocorrect loves me today. Anyway we merged! I'm so excited to be back with Emily and Abby and Ali! So we did a reward challenge which wound up being not a reward Challenge and half the tribe is immune and I'm part of the half that is immune so woo! Unfortunately Francie and Emily are part of the tribe that has to go to tribal. Boo. I'm hoping that everything turns out okay and that both my girls make it out alive. I promise hosts I will make a more detailed confessional later tonight. It's just been a really short round and I have not had too much time. :-)

As tribal looms closer, I'm getting more and more nervous. I want to help Emily out and give her the idol, but it's the Espirito idol. I think she's going to be safe so I wouldn't give it to her this round. I would give it to her in a round where I knew she would go home, but she was never on Espirito. If I feel in danger and don't want to use my idol, I'm giving my idol to Bryce because he's been on Espirito pre-swap and post-swap.

I can't wait for this idol maneuver. I have a real merge idol (1), a fake idol from the auction that I've re-labeled "merge idol" (2), and a fake idol that's a picture of a feather from google labeled "auction idol" (3). So the plan is to give someone the "merge idol" which is really just #2, get them to trust me with that and possibly watch them crash and burn if they try to use it, then later on have someone (probably Abbey) fake a betrayal of me by giving them #3 saying "Will trusted me with this, but use it to get him out" or something like that making them feel comfortable while actually just setting them up to be voted out a la Randy in Gabon. And of course, I'll save the real idol for myself when I need it most. But oh boy this is gonna be a good one if I can pull it off. And if y'all are reading this and I got voted out before I could do any of this, I'm just a big fool but hey at least I'm going for the gold here. And Amanda G's idol? We'll do something about that soon enough :)
