Summary: bonfires on the beach.

The journey to the beach was slow and long. Ignis didn't mind, though. He enjoyed every moment that he could with you. You had booked a hotel in advance, and Ignis had started planning the vacation. He worked too much and just needed to enjoy his time. You packed your things a few days prior before Ignis was even given a few days off of work. You knew that he would be worrying about if everything had been packed. You knew everything that you would be needing was packed. He was good at keeping up on things and making sure they went according to plan. However, it was all a part of life to make mistakes, to laugh, and enjoy the errors that came along. Nothing was ever perfect, and that was okay. He had been working for the castle for years before you had ever met him. You met him while he was on one of Noctis' adventures. Wherever they decided to go and had things to do. You liked him the first time that you met him and he liked you. However, he always seemed to be busy, and he wasn't very good at talking to people like Gladiolus was. He eventually warmed up, and things were fine. It was a few months before you and Ignis became a couple.

Ignis had offered to drive once the car was loaded, and you were fine with that. You knew he was a safe driver. He was the primary one who took the prince around. You knew where you were headed, but you were unsure of how to get there exactly. Which was another reason why Ignis drove. He was good at following directions, and he would get you there on time. When you arrived at the hotel, you checked in while Ignis began to unpack the bags. You should have had him check in, but it slipped your mind. You knew Ignis was going to try to do all the work. You grabbed the key and headed back out, helping Ignis with the bags before heading back in and to your room. You and Ignis started unpacking and then sat down to rest.

"What do you want to do?" You asked him.

"I think we should wait until later. The sun is up, and you would need to wear sunscreen to prevent sunburns. Of course, with the weather being as hot as it is, you wouldn't want to overheat either." He said, and he adjusted his glasses.

You smiled. "Yes, but what do you want to do?"

"I think we should head to the beach."

Despite the sun beginning to go down, Ignis put sunscreen on you both, and then you headed out. You carried your towel, as did Ignis. With the sun going down, there was no reason to bring anything else. You arrived at the beach and you saw a small lit fire. You pointed it out to Ignis.

"Hey, let's head over there."

"I don't think that would be a good idea. I do believe that it is someone's camping site."

"I don't see anyone around." You said as you took his hand.

It wasn't anyone's camping site, and the fire had been lit and then abandoned. You laid your towel down and sat. Ignis sat down next to you. You laid your head on his shoulder, and after a moment, he wrapped his arm around you.

so be prepared to constantly remind him about it

will get annoyed if you ask him to get your medicine

but will then show up with the medication with a bunch more extra

will even get special stuff you didnt even know if knew about

randomly remembers you need to take your medicine

but like 5 minuets after you already took it

Ravus

ravus talks to you a lot about your medicine

how it effect you

does it actually help

any negative side effects

why you take it

if really interested in how it effects you

doesn’t keep track of when you take it

but always seems to know

he’ll show up with your medicine and a glass of water just when you need it

yet when you jokingly ask him if he’s keeping track

he’ll shrug

deep down it does check the time to make sure you take it

Ffxv headcanons whatever type you want just share with the class

Noctis: When he was a kid, he used to lift up rocks to see what critters lived underneath them. He stopped around nine or ten when he accidentally pissed off a snake and got bit. It spooked him so bad that he didn't do anything like that again until he went on the frog side quest. Now that he's over his fear, Noctis is always flipping over rocks and ushering Prompto to come over and take photos of the animals and bugs he finds.

Gladio: There's a saying among the kingsguard that, "if you give Gladiolus a beer and a mic, you're gonna have a GREAT time!" He's quite good at karaoke, and despite the gruff voice, he can hit high notes. Singing was something Gladio and his sister did together while growing up. While Gladio didn't like her taste in music, being the big brother, he still sang her favs to and with her. He tried to keep this hobby a secret until he had one too many drinks with his comrades. He's since embraced his reputation over the years, and isn't as embarrassed about it.

Ignis: There are a few things in this world that can make this man mentally break, but Feng Shui nearly destroyed him. Ignis got into the practice initially in an attempt to get Noctis to have better organization in his apartment. Per usual, Noctis didn't appreciate the principles, but it rubbed off on Ignis to the point where he became obsessed with Feng Shui. He did it to all the rooms in the palace, much to King Regis's chagrin. It all backfired when Ignis attempted to Feng Shui his own residence. Nothing satisfied him, and after he didn't come out for almost 10 hrs rearranging furniture, Noctis had to give him an intervention. After that, he swore off the practice. Sometimes, he'll get irritated if he hears about it in passing.

Prompto: In his spare time when he's not with a camera, Prompto is on a computer learning to code. While he's not the best at it, Prompto enjoys the process cause it satisfies a mental itch (he gets that from his father...haha). It's his dream to one day make a game like Kings Knight. He has pages of concept sketches for apps, and other social media ideas he'd like to try creating one day. He seldom shares his passion with the boys, assuming they'll think it's too nerdy.

Lunafreya: It isn't considered "proper" by an means for someone of her status, but Luna enjoys watching duels on TV or in person. Ravus from a young age was always taught how to be a warrior, and she felt left out on numerous occasions when he'd be sent off to learn sparring lessons among other trainings. As a kid, she used to sneak away from her home in Tenebrae to watch people battle for fun. Observing others helped her hone in her own skills, and she's memorized different stances and techniques over the years. She also used to place bets on people who fought, and did get into trouble at one point because of it.

Ardyn: He's very aloof and no one knows what the hell he does in his spare time when not running a country. He has the craziest of rumors made up about him, and he ravishes in how it all scares and fascinates people. What people don't know is that he often sneaks around Niflheim and observes others for his sketchbook. When he was a healer, he had a book of medicinal plants that he'd catalog and sketch out himself. It's one of the few things that soothes his mind anymore with the daemons he has in his head. For a few hours, Ardyn can silence them by focusing on capturing the details from another person or thing in his work. It's also his only means of connecting with humans given how far he's gone. His style is kind of like Da Vinci's, very detailed with lots of notes here and there. When he's sketching its also the time where he'll snack on something sweet like candy from his pocket. In general he'll always have candy on his person, but he likes savoring it without an audience.

FFXV DRIVING HEADCANONS:

Noctis is the most relaxed driver. That doesn't necessarily mean he's the safest though. He's prone to being distracted by small things. I,e: passing cars listening to music he knows, a nice car model, the perfect fishing spots. He plays with the seat positioning so he can feel laid back, ALWAYS leaving a hand draped over the door when the Regalia's convertible is down.

Ignis is obviously the safest driver. He doesn't risk driving at night, being careful to read every road sign twice to be sure he's going the right way. In traffic he has a nervous reaction of tapping the wheel in rhythm to the music Prompto always demands is on.

Prompto is the worst driver. He breaks too hard, oversteers every corner slightly. Being the shortest he always positions the seat SOO close to the wheel. He always has to pull the sun visor down because his short ass is always directly in the sun's path. As previously mentioned, he ALWAYS has the music on. He also has a bad habit of fiddling with various switches and dials which Ignis has to correct later. He is too nervous to drive at night.

Gladiolus is the most reckless driver. An opportunity to drift the Regalia is always a corner away. He is more then happy to drive at night and is often having to use his charm to talk himself out of speeding tickets. He has to re-angle the rear view mirror due to being the tallest. His hair almost always brushes against the roof of the Regalia when it's up, and for that reason, he will only drive in good weather.

Doesn’t care if you fall asleep on him, because he’s passed out.

Prince of naps

Gives you the death stare when you volunteer him for early morning training with Gladio

Doesn’t snore

Second heaviest sleeper in the group

Bed head? That’s just how his hair is, it defies the laws of physics

Will teach you to fish if interested, bonus points if you already know what you’re doing

Will absolutely tease the shit out of you if you don’t like touching the bait or the fish

Prompto

He’s just living his best life

Sometimes you’re aware that you’re modeling for his photos, other times you don’t know until he shows you later on

Those hands are rated E for everyone

Seriously, enjoy waking up with random bruises or from the people’s elbow to the face

Other than that he is literally a ray of sunshine and you will do anything to protect him

Unhealthy obsession with Cup Noodle, which is weird because he’s so into fitness (fitness cup noodle in his mouth) and working out and staying healthy

HUMAN FURNANCE, which is fantastic during cold nights but is what you imagine hellfire feels like when it’s hot. Especially when it’s hot, and you got that morning sweat(death) box tent heat.

Will absolutely recommend you books if you ask, we love an avid reader

Will personalize you training to your needs, you dont even have to ask he just knows what you need

SNORES THE LOUDEST

Ignis

Def the mom of the group, makes sure you eat, drink your fluids, bandage your wounds, mends your clothes, etc

Hands down best food you will ever eat in your life, even just a plain slice of cheese pizza has never tasted so good

Bonus points if you show interest in cooking, he’s definitely the most patient teacher

Perfect tent buddy, doesn’t snore, isn’t a human furnace, in fact he just stays in one position all night

Is absolutely the lightest sleeper. You got up to pee one time and all you heard was “where are you going?” and you turned around to see him sitting upright and wide awake

You know you’ve become closer when he drops his formal way of addressing you, and instead adopts your nickname

DAD PUNS!! COME ON DOWN GET YOUR DAD PUNS FIIIIIIVE DOLLARS!!!!!!!!

At the start of the trip you loved his puns, and now you just groan along with the rest of the boys(you still love hearing them but you’re not about to stroke his ego)

Headcanon that Ignis sometimes goes into full-length essay mode and just talks about something he's been thinking about with arguments and different topics. And the rest of the boys just sit and listen like 'hmhm yeah yeah'.

Sometimes they might not even fully understand what he's talking about but they love him so it's all supportive 'you go girl' mode.

It's just full-on 'shower argument' mode but out loud to the others. Sometimes it's about "ACTUALLY this argument this guy made is so stupid and HERE'S WHY', and sometimes it's 'This movie was actually really good here's why', and other times 'Let me tell you why this rebranding of Ebony is the worst decision in the last decade'.

(Noctis loves to sometimes just throw in a counter-argument, even if it's bad, just to set him off)

So, I'm falling back into the FFXV kick, and I have decided that I disapprove of how little complex character development Square Enix has given the guys?? Like where is the emotional depth beyond surface-level cutscene angst?? So I took matters into my own hands and have compiled a handy little list of headcanons / expanded canons that I think make sense.

Noctis: Has clinical insomnia and frequent lucid dreams (sorta a given, but bear w me bear w me)

Feels the weight of having to take so much on from such a young age much, much more than he lets on

Loves to argue

Would've been happier if he and Luna stayed as childhood best-buds rather than betrothed fiancés (controversial, ik, but it just didn't seem like he cared that much for her romantically to me?? Like he obviously cared about her, but it seemed like a really strong penpal vibe rather than a "We're-gonna-get-married-and-be-the-next-hotshot-couple" vibe. If you disagree, coolio, I'm not gonna debate w you on this one)

Has a natural sadness to his eyes regardless of what he's feeling

Went through an anime phase (possibly still in his anime phase, idk)

Social anxiety for the win

Severe RBF

Prefers tea over coffee (black tea is best---particularly lavender earl grey)

Can play the cello (practicing tho?? Don't know her)

Writes the most beautiful poetry when The Motivation™ strikes him (usually when he's home sick and half-delirious)

Prompto: Has ADHD and clinical anxiety, but is undiagnosed and doesn't take any meds for either of them.

Is legit like SO SMART, but can never focus, so not many people take any notice

Wears contact lenses (he had glasses as a child and I refuse to believe he had some high-tech corrective surgery to eliminate the need for them when lenses are cheaper and less risky)

Doesn't drink caffeine because it makes him jittery

Doesn't drive the Regalia when the guys are around because having other people in the car distracts him from the road. Also he tends to drive like a speed demon, which worries Ignis to no end.

Sunburns insanely easily

Could legit become a hitman if he wanted to with the amount of gun-knowledge he has. It doesn't matter what firearm you put in this boy's hand---pistol, SMG, sniper, rocket launcher, you name it. He can and will hit the target every single time.

Addicted to adrenaline

Pansexual

Has a lot of self-loathing (we see a bit of this in Ep. Prompto) and talks with an online therapist about it via text whenever his lows hit him. He's making great progress in learning how to heal and how to accept himself for who he is beyond the mask he wears for others

Ignis: More than a little bit of a control freak, and works very hard not to be too overbearing or critical about his friends' misgivings

Hypochondriac

Wants to protect everyone all the time and mentally kicks himself when he doesn't get there fast enough

Is SO PROUD of Noctis's journey and felt a stronger hatred towards Ardyn than anyone else in the group for what he forced Noct to go through (he stayed up at night sick to his stomach with hollow rage and baked nonstop to take his mind off of it)

Can verbally obliterate a man, but only rarely chooses to do so bc he's classy like that

After losing his eyes, he notices so much more beauty in the world than he used to (the sound of rain on the Regalia's roof, the specific gait of each of his friends, the smell of salt on the wind in Galdin Quay, the flawless feel of one specific silk tie he has in his repertoire, etc)

His internal compass is never wrong

Regularly takes antacids for his stomach

Has the straightest teeth you've ever seen

Demiromantic

Gladio: Hates being wrong: it's his way or the highway

Actually so much smarter than the musclehead jock front he puts up

A little vain and easily jealous (this man has a Jealous Face like no other)

Thunderstorms are his favorite; his ideal place to be is at a campsite, during a storm, with a well-worn book and a mug of Irish coffee in hand

Would throw himself in front of a bus for any one of his friends

Would beat up kids for the folks he cared about in middle school and spent the time he wasn't training to be a Crownsguard sitting in detention with the most unrepentant, smug, and-I'd-do-it-again look scrawled across his face

Can make a better smoothie than anyone (except maybe Iggy)

Spotify junkie

Had a dinosaur phase as a kid and can still name random facts about them whenever the opportunity presents itself

Avid technology-hater and only has a phone to make calls and join the others in playing King's Knight since they begged him so profoundly (he's sure the thing's going to be his downfall)

Gets most of Prompto's pop culture references

The Chocobro's reaction on becoming a father

Noctis

Wouldn’t talk for at least 5 minutes because his brain has to process the fact that your not fooling around with him.

“Wow… and you’re sure?”

It’s not that he doesn’t believe you. It’s just that he doesn’t know what else to say because he can’t handle all of those feelings at once.

He feels happiness because he would love to have his own little family but on the other hand he feels guilty because he know how much of a burden it can be to be part of the royal family.

“I hope I’ll be able to teach the baby everything I know… I want it to be prepared for that life…and I want it to live their life at its fullest..”

Prompto

He’d be completely overwhelmed about it at first. Walking from one side of the room to the other.

“Holy..and you’re sure?!.. I mean you wouldn’t joke about that. Would you??”

When he finally realizes that you’re not joking he'd definitely tear up because he realizes he’ll have his own family for the first time in his life.

“You know.. i don’t have that much to offer but I promise that I’ll try my best to be a good dad…”

Ignis

He wouldn’t say anything.

Instead he gives you a long hug that says more than 1000 words.

After a view moments of silence he whispers in your ear.

“These…are the best news ever..”

He’d hug you even tighter afterwards.

Gladiolus

Let’s not fool around.

Being a Dad runs through his veins since he was born.

He would be ecstatic if he found out he’d become a father.

“You’re not bullshitting me…are you?”

He’s so full of joy and immediately tells you what he’s about to teach the little sprog. It’s mainly about how to fight with a sword thats twice your own weight.

I don’t know why they turned out being so sad except for Gladio. Anyways I hope you enjoy ;-;

Summary: games on the beach with ignis

Ignis wasn't much of a vacation person. It's not that he didn't want to take one. It's just that he never had the time to take one. He would have loved to take vacation, but he also enjoyed working at his job. Being the cook for Prince Noctis. They would have allowed him a vacation if he wanted one. He deserved it, but he refused to take one. He didn't want to travel alone, but he wasn't going to admit that. When he met you, he was nervous. He wasn't very good at talking to people like Gladiolus was. He was at a loss for words. Which was surprising, considering he was often the one to help others out with words that they had forgotten. It was you who had spoken first and through the days and months of talking. He did eventually warm up and talk to you more.

When you eventually became a couple, you were the one to suggest a vacation. He was hesitant, as he had a job to do. He had never once asked them for time off. He didn't want to bother them or inconvenience them with his request. So you were the one to talk to the royal family, who agreed with you on giving Ignis time off. You weren't surprised that they agreed. He worked too hard and deserved a break. You would be surprised by Ignis' reaction. You didn't tell him that he had the day off. It was unlikely that he would believe you. He trusted you completely, but why would they give him a day off? Especially since he never asked them for one. He left for the day, and it wasn't long before he returned home. You pretended as if it were any other day.

"How did your day go?" You said, smiling as you wrapped your arms around him.

"They gave me the week off for some reason." He said as he returned your hug, but remained emotionless. He was still lost in thought, trying to figure it out.

"I asked them to give you the week off. You've been working too hard and deserve a break. We're also going to go on vacation."

He nodded and looked happy as he realized why he had been given the day off, and then his smile was gone. Of course, you would ask them to give him time off.

"Thank you, Y/N." He said with a slight smile. "Next time, you should have asked me."

You knew asking him last time went nowhere. Otherwise, you would have.

"When do we leave?"

"Today, I already packed up my luggage and started on yours."

"Alright." He said as he stood up and headed upstairs to look through his things and pack them up.

He double and triple checked everything to make sure that nothing was left behind that might be needed, and together, you both headed out with your luggage. You put them in the trunk of the car as he drove to the hotel you told him about. You arrived on time and headed inside to check in. Then, you headed up to your hotel and waited until it was closer to nighttime. You didn't want it to be too hot and for Ignis to mention sunscreen. He liked to keep everybody protected. You wanted him to enjoy his vacation without worrying about things.

When it was closer to sundown, you mentioned going to the beach to Ignis, who agreed to go with you.

You headed out, and it was a short walk to the beach. You mentioned playing a game, and he agreed. He wasn't very athletic and didn't know many games. You told him the rules to play, and the games began. He wasn't bad at sports, despite never really playing any.

irrelevant headcanon: ignis doesn't read in the car like gladio does because he gets carsick very easily. he prefers to drive because when he's actively at the wheel, it's much easier to focus on the road and not the vertigo. every time noctis break checks him he loses his mind a little bit more. prompto isn't allowed to drive because one time he got them pulled over and when they did the drunk checks, ignis failed the straight line test so badly they made him do a breathalyzer. do with this what you will
