How about both if you want? If not you can choose.
Emotional questionnnnn: What if a superhero died (including Batman and Superman cause why not >:))?
Uhmm...I'm going to talk mostly about if they just witnessed the death of the others since I don't think I'm ready to unpack the emotional baggage of killing a friend. ( But if you also about a specific kill with specific details on how it happened you can bet I'll give you a specific answer.)
It's clear in the aftermath of Superman vs Barman that Superman's death would take a toll on the civilians. He's iconic that way, I think it would be especially hard on Kara. And it would be terrible for Gotham morale and Batgirl especially, if Batman dies while being a hero.
It'd be terrible if either hero died. Both are incredibly strong and intelligent. If either died it would mean a villain strong enough and reckless enough to simply murder any adversary.
It would be pretty scary to all if Superman died....after all Cryptonien's are supposed to be indestructible, no?
Kara would take the death pretty hard. In denial, probably. Insisting that there is a way to bring him back.
If one of the Invincibro's (yo bros) died then it'll hit hard.
It'll hit differently depending on the counterpart. And the situation.
For example, if Hal died both sides will mourn. And the Invicibros will be a mess (I suspect that Steve and Hal were co-captains, if anything Steve is a bit of a figurehead). Speaking of 'captain' the school, whoever knew the confident brunet will be in shock because Hal always seemed a little invincible. Many would mourn him since he grows on you....like fungi. Jess will be wrecked and she'd blame herself because of course she would. She was his partner, she should have been there. 'And oh gosh she was alone now, she'd have to defend the space sector alone. And even if she's assigned a new partner it wouldn't matter because they weren't an obnoxious, confident, self-centered Hal'. And yes, there will be a certain dampness in the atmosphere for both teams.
If Barry died both teams (the whole city even) would mourn. Barry was beloved as both Barry the dessert slinger and the Flash, superhero speedster. Barry was kind of the kindness of the group. The one who did good for no other motive than the fact that he loved deeply and wanted to keep everyone safe. The team would keep chugging along with this mindset...but I don't think they'd be able to eat at Sweet Justice anymore. It would hit Babs' hard because he was her best (guy) friend and they swore to have each other's backs (in my AU) and she didn't have his and now he's dead. I think the girls would prefer to just move their headquarters since Sweet Justice was painful enough to just think about.
If Carter died I'm afraid no one will notice. Hawkman's death will be acknowledged but not Carter's. Carter's death if given any attention at school would be a mystery much like he was. Same with Hawkman, his death will be mourned but he'd be considered a mystery death because of his quiet nature. This will drive the boys mad because Carter Hall was DEAD and no one seemed to care. How can they not realize that everything has changed? Carter was more or less the level-headed one of the group. It would be particularly terrible for Karen since Carter was big and strong and knowing he's dead? Yes...she wouldn't take it well. She'd most likely try to avenge him.
If Oliver died it would be a bit of a scandal. I'm sure he has quite the fan base as both an aspiring actor and the charismatic Green Arrow. He was always the *cue dramatic gasp* dramatic one of the bunch. His death will be, you guessed it, terrible. Since happy, confident, loyal Green Arrow was killed. The atmosphere around the team would tune quiet, if a little hollow but they'd keep chugging through since Oliver wasn't friends with quitters. And it would hit Zee differently because the last thing they did was fight (of course they did) and now he's dead and she realized that she had fun arguing with him and their rivalry made acting so much more fun and now how is she supposed to perform when her co-star was dead? When the idiot who would make rude faces behind the curtains and then grudgingly admit she did 'decently' was dead?!? It would hit hard because Oliver and Zee shared a passion and they both left a stain there. She'd forever associate her love for the stage to her complicated friendship with a dead actor. (I think she'd hate when in the future people forget Oliver Queen's name). The whole girl said would mourn but they didn't know Oliver as well as Zee and Zee's a wreck so they'd channel their grief into comforting her.
God help the idiot who murders Steve. If Diana hasn't already killed you, the team will. The Invincibro's, I mean. Steve is a bit of a figurehead so kill the queen and they will make it their life mission to avenge him. That is all after the grieving, of course. Steve will be mourned heavily by both teams, especially by Diana and the Invicibros. Diana will be confused at first because she never even thought that Steve could die. Never crossed her mind. She never asked for anything, wanted for anything, but she wanted him. Him to be alive. How is that even possible??! Jeez, I don't see much of him so that's all I can really say.
If Garth is killed well... Both teams will be horrified and heartbroken. It's just that Garth is so innocent and sweet. And he was killed. The whole school I think would notice because the football team will mourn (in my AU) him. The city might be a bit indifferent because despite his confidence he never demanded as much attention as his team. But the team will never be indifferent to it. The Invincibro's will be furious to hide the fact that they are wrecked because yes, Garth can handle himself in a fight but he was only fourteen. He had plans and he was their friend, goddamit. (I really want to go in depth about how the girls and guys would react but I'll resist.) Kara will react similarly because how dare they take her little brother away?? One thing is letting him handle himself when he's getting bullied but killing him?
Okay...this is a quick peek at how the team and counterpart will react to their death....now for the girls!!
(they are all killed, okay? No different or accidental deaths)
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
If Jess were killed the team would be a wreck, of course. Jess, I like to think, was the mom friend and medic of the group. The girls will mourn and healing will be hard. Very hard. They'll remember all the things she holds dear. I have no doubt they'll participate in protests like Jess has been bugging them to do when she was alive. The Invincibro's will be sad too, of course. Initially, then they'll be pissed. Won't rest untill they help the SHG defeat the killer. And Hal? He'll be feral, of course he would. He is very possessive and very loyal. He'd be in denial at first (they all would) because how can Jessica Fricking Cruz, passionate kind selfless Jess be dead?? That's not possible. She cared too much, had too much to do- she can't be dead. But I feel like halfway through his revenge rampant he'll remember that Jess was a pacifist and he'll...I dunno.
If Babs died the team will be swinging from horrified, to unbelieving, to furious. They'd be sad because Babs loved being a superhero and she loved helping people and now she was dead and- they'd be a mess. And don't even get me started on how Barry would take it. Wanna know how he'd take it? Very badly. Why? Because Babs is his best friend and his counterpart and he's supposed to watch her back and she's gone for real and this is terrible and he's so sensitive and everything is fallings apart it seems. He'll definitely be a little more jaded, a lot more protective and burst into tears when anyone orders a candy cake triple ripple tower with rainbow sprinkles. But then overtime it'll turn into a sad smile. Man, the Invincibro's will also be horrified since Babs was close to pretty much everyone.
If Karen died? Absolute pandemonium. The team will be equal parts blaming themselves and torn with guilt and sorrow. They will tear the world apart looking for a way to fix it somehow. Fix it the way Karen would have. The boy team, because despite all their teasing, will be in uproar because no one messed with Karen but them!! And Carter? He'll be at war with himself, because he should have protected her, the pipsqueak was too young and small and fragile to be able to hold off evil by herself and how dare she put herself in that situation? How dare she just leave them like that?? I feel like he'll be in denial for a long time, working through everything to avoid processing his grief but when it does it'll hit hard. Probably because of something small but subtle. Like getting electrocuted because Karen had quite a few fractal scars from her experimenting and super heroing. Or when he realizes he got stung by a bee- it's the little moments when it strikes deep.
If Zee died it would be a bit absolutely scandalous of course. Not only will the girls be horrified and heartbroken but so will Zee's fanbase as an actor and her father's assistant. The girls will have quite some time to even begin to adjust but soon enough they will jump straight into plotting their revenge. The boys will be livid of course but none more that her counterpart Oliver Queen. Oliver won't quite believe it, I don't think, he'll just think that Zee will just magically resurrect herself because the annoying actress who liked hogging his showtime couldn't possibly be dead. She was like a cockroach! No matter how many times squashed beneath your shoe those wretched little things will just come back. All the time...she couldn't be gone. And truly he didn't hate her, he just liked having a goal. To outshine Zee Zatara. So...how could she be dead? This will hit especially hard when he doesn't have a counterpart to fight with. Or when the leading lady role goes to someone new. Clear to say that Zee Zatara's death will be every bit heart wrenching.
If Diana dies be prepared for hell. The girls will fall apart with grief after avenging their leader. I feel that Babs would try to keep everyone together at least. The boy team will be furious because Diana was their battle plan leader too! And how- they'd be confused because how can the immortal Diana Prince die? The school would definitely have a service for the mystery top student. How would Steve react? He'd be horrified and lost, and confused but then he'd help the girls avenge W.W and live the rest of his life upholding Diana's values. (I'm not quite sure how he'd handle the grief.)
If Kara dies then there will of course first be the mourning (at least according to the show). Then the shock. Then the doubt because hasn't Kara 'died' before? And that would lead to hope which will make the moment of confirmation the most painful. For both teams. Garth will be completely blindsided with grief and anger because how dare they take his big sister? How dare they hurt moody, cold, rude at times, big softie at heart, Kara? And well I guess we'll discover that rage is also a prominent feature if the ocean, is it not? So yes, this will be an emotional rollercoaster no doubt about it.
✨✨✨EXTRA EXTRA✨✨✨
This extra will be non-super hero's who will also mourn and attempt to avenge the lost one.
Diana- she is the princess of an island of immortal warrior woman. Her mom is 'a final boss'. She will have plenty of people to avenger her (not that she would want that, per say). I kind of have a suspicion that Queen of Amazon's will either be overly sympathetic ('my daughter has chosen her path, now we can only honor her') or furiously because they were part of her daughters dream that got Diana killed (may you pray we never cross paths again or I will curse you as you have cursed me).
Karen- not sure... but maybe her parents??? They can make a suit too??
Kara- Her cousin because family is family and that's period and she's like the only survivor who doesn't want him (genuinely) dead. And Alex, her step-sister- maybe.
Jess- Green Lantern Corp.? Dexstarr?
Zee- her DAD, remember they are super close and he's super powerful and yeah....
Babs- Her dad- who's like a cop and even though he shown to be extremely lazy I have no doubt that he'd drop the donuts to find out what happened to his precious pumpkin pants. Might even call I'm Batman. Harleen, yes Harleen who tried to murder Robin because he embarrassed Babs will definitely go after her best friends murderer (even after finding out Vans secret identity)
Okay for Steve and Carter I genuinely don't know.
Garth, I'm not sure but if he's actually underwater royalty than you can expect a whole lot of flooding, earthquakes and sea monsters.
Hal- starfire is coming for your but
Oliver- Mortimer Drake, maybe? They are sort of bro's
Barry- DA WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD
Well...this was fun, wasn't it? Thanks for the beautiful ask, as usual @thedevilsmusicbox and I look forward to hearing from you. 😁🙋

The River of the Giant Alligator
A bunch of Italians pretending they’re not Italian in a movie about a guy who chose the wrong place to build a hotel… it’s like Avalanche by way of Devil Fish, with an alligator.  And racism.  You can’t have a 70’s Italian jungle movie without the racism, and this one layers it on real thick.  I think The River of the Giant Alligator has its MST3K bases covered.
Rich Asshole Joshua has opened Paradise House, a resort in the middle of the ‘virgin jungle’.  He proudly tells visitors that not only has he left the surrounding ecosystem undamaged, but he’s helping the local people by giving them jobs and improving their standard of living.  Naturally it’s not as simple as that.  Trouble begins when Sheena, the model they brought for their advertising photographs (just for a dash of Killer Fish), vanishes overnight.  Photographer Daniel and hotel manager Ally go to the locals looking for her, and are told that the River God has awakened and intends to drive the white people away by assuming the form of a giant crocodile and eating them all.  Considering how mind-bogglingly stupid the tourists in this movie are, that should take all of twenty minutes.
Tumblr media
The locals, who call themselves the Kuma, have a name for their River God but it’s pronounced five different ways and I won’t guess how to spell it.  Because of the deep breathing sounds that presage its first appearance, I shall call the creature Darth Gator.
Let’s get the basics out of the way first.  The whole movie is dubbed and the voice actors are bad. The Darth Gator prop is completely immobile but they mostly keep it in the dark or in really tight shots so we don’t notice… it’s only the occasional ill-advised wide shot where it’s obviously fake enough to be funny.  There’s a spiky fence that exists mostly so that people can get impaled on it and a cloying little kid for no reason whatsoever.  The ‘wildlife’ is a stock footage smorgasbord that includes orangutans and hippos on the same river.  The worst effect in the film is a terrible miniature shot of the hotel on fire, which would have looked just fine if the people involved hadn’t forgotten that flames don’t scale.
Tumblr media
So all that sucks, but is fairly harmless.  Now let’s talk about the racism.
We’ll start with the movie’s treatment of its two ‘love stories’, and I use the floating commas because neither of them quite qualifies. Daniel and Ally are the main ‘couple’ of the movie.  The camera lingers on each of them to show that he thinks she’s beautiful and she thinks he’s rugged, and they spend the whole movie hanging out on balconies and boats together and discussing whether the resort is good or bad for the local people… but they never get so much as a kiss.  This is kind of nice, actually, because there’s very little time to stop and make out when you’re being chased by a large carnivorous reptile.  It does, however, make for a hell of a contrast between them and the other ‘couple’ we see.
This is the model, Sheena, and her Kuma boyfriend. I am unclear on where this movie is set (the closest we get to a clue is Ally referring to the area as ‘the Orient’, which could honestly mean anything) but it’s perfectly clear that the reason they hired a black woman for their publicity photos is to make the place look ‘exotic’.  There’s a weird moment when Joshua attempts to flirt with Sheena by telling her, “it occurs to me that Eve herself may have been black”, which… yes, that is how human evolution worked, what about it?  All that aside, at the end of the day, Sheena runs off for a romantic evening with one of the tribesmen.  We never see her talk to this guy or have any clue what made her pick him over any of the others.  They just go fuck on a beach and then get eaten by an alligator.
So… we have blonde, blue-eyed white people having a perfectly chaste, wait-for-marriage love affair in which they actually get to know each other… and black people who run off with a stranger and screw out in the open like animals.  Holy shit.  I want to say I hope this wasn’t something the film-makers actively thought about, but it might be worse if they didn’t.  Naturally, this is also a version of the ‘people who have premarital sex must die’ trope from slasher movies, and the movie makes doubly sure we know this is Bad Behaviour by having Ally remark that the Kuma are forbidden from visiting ‘the Island of Love’ on the full moon.
The deaths of Sheena and Nameless Kuma Guy also begin a pattern that lasts almost the entire movie.  Even though we’re told, repeatedly, that Darth Gator wants to drive the white people out of his jungle, for the vast majority of the running time it’s the brown people who are getting chomped.  We’re told that twelve white missionaries came here years ago and Darth Gator ate all but one of them, who then became a crazy jungle man (not gonna lie, Father Jonathan was my favourite character and I wish we’d seen more of him).  We see Sheena, her boyfriend, and the boyfriend’s brother get eaten alive.  Furthermore, most of the white deaths in the movie are at the hands of the Kuma, who run in and kill the tourists with spears and fire arrows in the belief that they’re doing their god’s bidding, and much of this happens offscreen. Those hit by the arrows quickly fall into the water and vanish from sight.  The only time the camera lingers on a white person dying is Joshua, who I guess they think deserved it.  The impression one gets is that white death is a horror better implied than shown, while brown death is a spectacle.  Again… holy shit.
Tumblr media
The River of the Giant Alligator can’t seem to decide what we’re supposed to think about the Kuma people.  Early in the film they’re portrayed as victims.  These foreigners have invaded their land and built this giant hotel, and claimed to be helping them by giving them ‘work’. Ally notes that they’ll be able to live longer, healthier lives, but Daniel wonders if it’s worth it when they’ve basically become Joshua’s slaves.  The movie leaves this question hanging there without exploring it any further. When Daniel and Ally come looking for information about the alligator attacks, the Kuma direct them to Father Jonathan, knowing they’re more likely to believe a white man, even one who’s obviously not quite all there.  The movie really wants to be about the exploitation of indigenous peoples, treated as decorations and curiosities by white tourists.
The problem is, it wants to eat that cake, too.  By the end of the story, the Kuma have devolved into stock savages.  They attack the hotel and kill everybody, and kidnap Ally so they can tie her to a horizontal King Kong contraption as a sacrifice. The ending just makes it all the more confusing, as they turn up to discover that their god has been blown to bloody chunks after biting into a van full of explosives, and they cheer and they just leave.  Is it really that easy to kill a god?  Won’t a dead god demand vengeance anyway?  Does this mean they actually like the white people after all, and were only angry because Darth Gator was eating them?
The ending also muddles the movie’s other point, about the nature of eco-tourism.  One of the selling points of Paradise House is that it’s in the middle of virgin jungle.  Joshua brags about how he’s left the surrounding ecosystem untouched – but then we cut straight to trees being cleared using dynamite, and later we see live piglets being thrown into the river to keep the crocodiles hanging around so people can gawk at them.  You can’t build a hotel in the middle of a place and then call it ‘virgin jungle’.  You’re the one who violated it!
Tumblr media
The script is a little unclear on whether Darth Gator is a natural or supernatural threat.  Ally and Daniel insist that it’s no mere alligator (I don’t think this movie knows the difference between crocodiles and alligators any better than I do) and Father Jonathan seems to believe it’s the Devil Himself, but it certainly dies like a flesh-and-blood creature.  Whatever its nature, it’s clear enough that Darth Gator represents the jungle striking back at these intruders to drive them out.  The Kuma literally say as much.  So what are we to take from the fact that it dies at the end?  Have we won the right to destroy the forest by killing its guardian?  I don’t believe the people who make these movies think this stuff through.
I can tell that we’re supposed to hate the tourists, and we do, although not always for the reasons the movie wants us to. Minnow, the red-haired little girl who ‘only likes to play with boys’, tries so hard to be Adorable that you want to punt her across the room.  Her mother leaves her to wander around the hotel alone, because Mummy’s got a smarmy mustached boyfriend to bang (even this relationship gets more attention than Sheena and Unnamed Kuma Guy, by the way… we are told that Mummy and Mustache have met before, and are here mostly to see each other rather than the jungle).  Other notable annoyances include a lady who seems perfectly sane until she starts talking about the aliens, and a guy who loves to complain about Youth These Days and will seize any opportunity to do so.
I kinda wanna gripe about these obnoxious characters, but I don’t feel like I can.  You may recall that I spent a month stuck on a cruise ship earlier this year.  I can tell you definitively that these people do exist, and I hate them even more in real life.
Man, this could have been a fun monster movie.  I’ve seen movies about man-eating crocodiles (or alligators… does it honestly matter that much?) that I really enjoyed.  Primeval wasn’t even that bad – it was about how humans are more monstrous than anything nature can produce.  Lake Placid had that immortal bit where Betty White says if I had a dick, this is where I’d tell you to suck it.  The River of the Great Alligator is just boring bullshit and things that seem kinda racist on the surface but then you think about them a little longer and realize they’re incredibly racist.  I went into this one hoping to like it, but it absolutely pissed on the last shreds of my optimism... like a lot of other things in 2020.

Day 13 to 15: Saturday 28th of March to Monday 30th of March
Alright, here’s the summary post as I promise. Let’s start by the beginning should we? Ok, I’m not really sure about when everything happened so, it may not be in this order but nevermind, right?
Day 13: Saturday 28th of March
I bet you all asking what happened after this all blowing mind adventure that I got on my own. As I told you, I spend the night with Bucky and it was so peaceful. I woke up curled up in his arm. It was smelling good and I felt great. No nightmares, no headaches, no anxiety attack. And cutest thing ever, Bucky was awake (since probably a moment) but he didn’t move for me not to wake up.
We had one of the greatest day I think. Basically, it was cold outside so we decided to take the Breakfast inside all together of course. My fathers seemed relief to saw me better and more peaceful. After that, I decided to showto Bucky some cartoons because the guy doesn’t have any pop culture. We watch Frozen. He kind of like it (probably because he never saw cartoons before) so he thought it was beautiful, well animated, funny, dramatic, sad, and pretty. So I thought if he likes it, he has to love the second one. (No matter what you all haters say, I love this movie with all my soul. Even if there is way too much songs. It’s still really much better than the first one. And Elsa? God damn it! She’s amazing! The way she finally gets herself free (with the metaphor of her hair getting less and less tight that so clever) and the way she finally takes her place in the world, she understands who she is, what’s her role. This is great.) ANYWAY !
Tumblr media
Bucky loved it. Of course he loved it, he’s smart. Haha! I just love the fact that he still discovers simple things you know? He could be so impressed by normal day life things. Cartoons, Smartphone, 3D movies, or even video games and musics. I just have the feeling is a bit like Tarzan you know? I mean, he never had the occasion to watch that much movies or listen to musics and he got the chance to discover it now like I wish I could forget some things just to rediscover it once again. Don’t you?
Alright, after Frozen and frozen 2, we decided to go do another pictionnary and we ended up drawing again. That was awesome. Bucky is really talented to do stickfigures !  🤣
Anyway, it was another great day, and nothing that much excited happened this day. Maybe the fact that Bucky came to sleep with me again. I love this big tall warm pillow....
Day 14: Sunday 29th of March
Get help ! Bucky got a Smartphone !
Alright, why do I say get help? My fathers got the incredible idea to offer a smartphone to Bucky. It’s not a problem so far right? Wait for it. We were lazily laying down on the couch with Bucky while I was explaining to him all the amazing thing he could do with his brand new phone you know? Guess what happened? He opened google to do a research on me. Not that much embarassing so far. I mean, I got beautiful pictures on magazine, I’m the youngest genius on the planet and the smartest actually so... It’s kind of great to try to impress him a bit. But the guy just dig even more in the internet and instead of impressing him with my amazing brain because I made a robot when I was six and all this shit. No, the guy just find out about my tentative of being an actor and fall on that:
Tumblr media
I...
Tumblr media
WANT ...
Tumblr media
TO...
Tumblr media
DIE.
Like, look at me ! What’s wrong with... Everything?!! In case you didn’t knew I try to be an actor as much as I want to take back my father’s Company. I even picked an actor name: Robert Downey Jr. Kind of cool right? This movie is named “Johnny Be Good” and trust me, you don’t wanna watch that. My character’s name is Leo and he doesn’t make any fucking sense! Like what the hell? It gets really embarassing when I watched the movie the first time but could it get more embarassing that right now?  Bucky insisted so much to watch this movie that we finally did. And my fathers were so happy to watch it once again that they came with us. They were basically three fucking idiots who were laughing so much about me and my nonsense in this movie. I never felt so humiliated. I never felt so ashamed.
And I guess I never laughed so much about myself. Like never. I mean at the beginning I was so embarassed that I didn’t say nothing and just looked at them laughed about me. But after all, it’s funny right? I mean, why do I have to be this stupid asshole who can’t laugh about himself? Even Steve laugh at his own behaviour sometimes. This was one of the funniest and happiest moment that we spend in containement for now. We laughed so much. Bucky couldn’t stop crying. He was turning red, hiding behind a pillow to avoid us to see his face. It was adorable. Once again, how this guy he’s doing to be so cute? He’s a super soldier. Super soldiers are not suppose to be cute. They’re supposed to be hot fucking barbarian. And the guy he’s just a fucking puppy! 😍 God, I’m so happy that we adopted this guy.  ... .... Wait a minute...  ... He’s not going to be my adopted brother, right? No way. I will not accept that. It can’t be. But actually, I don’t want him to go back to the Orphan house, you know? Bucky belongs here. With us. I want him to stay.
Day 15: Monday 30th of March
This day was a bit less funny. Maybe because my fathers decided it was the good moment to talk. Actually, they were right. I needeed to spit everything out.
How it happened? Well, I woke up in my bed with Bucky who was playing Sims next to me. God damn it he’s building a Mansion for my Sims, I can’t wait to put them inside. We get up and go take breakfast in the garden. A beautiful, warm day. After that, I wanted to work on the arm again. Howard was in his lab already, I mean, nothing weird right? But Steve was there too. I understood quickly that my Dad was  picking a bit of blood to my other dad. They explain to me that Howard was doing research on the serum to try to find an antidote to the Virus that was running out there. I asked Howard if I could help him later. He told me maybe so I don’t know if it’s going to happen.  Anyway, I worked on the arm for 30 minutes before I noticed that my fathers were looking at  me with insistance.
“Anthony, are you ok?” Howard asked before getting closer.  So, it was the moment right? They were both staring at me with patience.
“I’m sorry, dads. I didn’t mean to make you worried. To be honest, I did something bad. And I’m so sorry about it.  - Tony, we talked about it. What happened with Stane was not your fault... (Did I forgot to mention that I had a conversation with Steve about Afghanistan? I really need to do this post about it...) - I’m not talking about Obadiah. I said by cuting Steve. Dad H., I know you always forbid me to hack your files and before you get pissed off please, let me explain. Few days ago, I had those crazy nightmares about someone called the Winter Soldier. I didn’t knew where I heard that before I actually remembered that you two talked about it when I was 12 maybe. I get curious, I know it’s bad, I’m so sorry. But I was so sure there was a link between the Winter soldier and Bucky... And I was right, wasn’t I? Bucky is the kid, the first one. The Winter Soldier. Right? I looked at everything in your computer. I know the Truth now. It’s so awful... The things they did to him.”
At this point, I started shaking. I didn’t wanted my fathers to be pissed off against me. But I did some crap, so it was obvious they were about to kick my ass or worst forbid me to go in the lab for months.
But, to my complete surprise, they stare at me without a word like nothing at all.
“Howard, he succeed to hack your Winter Soldier’s files?” Asked Steve under his breathe.  “I heard that, Steve!” Mumbled Howard in answer.  ”Didn’t you tell me you put your best defense on it? Like you couldn’t even hacked it yourself if you wanted to?”  ”Yes, I did, Stevie. Yes, I did....” They were looking so fucking confused  like:
Tumblr media
I thought I broke them for a second until Howard get to me by clearing his throat. He was still looking confused. But he managed to say: “Hum... Tony, listen... What you did was really bad. ... Wait, how the hell did you do that? ... No, Nevermind, I just wanted to say... I mean, holy shit! - What’s your father wants to say is... We are so proud of you, Tony.  - Steve ! - What? It’s true. We never imagine we could have the chance to have a son so incredibly clever and determinate. And everyday, you keep surprising us. Even if it was not the good thing to do. We asked you not to dig too deeply in this story, didn’t we? “  He sighed before taking me in his arms with Howard.
“We didn’t wanted you to have more nightmares. It’s not a story for a kid, son. “ He said to me.  “I am not a kid anymore” I mumbled in the arms of my two dads.
This moment was so sweet and relaxing. I felt so much better after that.  Really much better. I guess I just needeed to be a bit cheared up by my dads. They were not that much pissed off. They were actually a bit lost I guess. Howard couldn’t stop asking me how did I do that. I will maybe tell him one day. Who knows? Oh, and good new by the way !I finally finished the arm of Bucky. I can’t wait to give it to him tomorrow. Anyway, it’s late again. The time pass crazily fast when I’m writing. SO I give you the rest of the summary tomorrow, right? history3 ep10 summary - POOR SHAO FEI AND TANG YI BB, this is what heartbreak looks like
I JUST ABOUT DIED. I DID. THE LAST PART WAS MAD - just this 30 seconds alone carried the entire fucking episode
We are at the halfway mark - Part of me doesn’t want it to end at all but I need to see the birthday cake and domestic scenes ASAP!! Currently I’m just enjoying the ride and so glad we get to see Chris and Jake and Andy and Kenny and everyone of those other hot and excellent actors in this show. I’ve never done a GIF or subtitled in all my years on tumblr before History3 - life changing this is what this show is and I’m so happy we’re all doing this together! Let’s make it through the halfway mark together omgosh excited guys!!!!!
Shopping scene with Shao Fei + Hong Ye: Hong Ye is telling SF to walk faster they go into a department store and she keeps changing clothes OMG LOL THEY ARE SO CUTE TGT!!! She wears smth with ruffles and then asks SF how it looks and then he’s like ‘why do u look like a seaweed’ and she’s like ‘who’s a seaweed you’re a seaweed’ and then she dances LOL and then LOL HE FELL ASLEEP WHILE SHOPPING WITH HER AND LOST HER omg Shao Fei seriously
They’re playing a game on the escalator this is the funniest shit and OF COURSE she brings him to a lingerie shop and omg Shao Fei so poor thing just sits there and OMG YAS HONG YE SISTER-BROTHER RIVALRY and she buys him UNDERWEAR and she’s like “hang on a second, this is too big for you, you need a smaller one” LOL BURN
Carpark/shooting scene: They’re almost like friends or something, although later after we see the hong ye and bodyguard ah de scene you’ll realise why she was speaking to shao fei like that (because she knew smth was going to happen and she thought everything was going to go to plan but who knew they were coming with guns) and anw, then the bullets start going off and shao fei protects her with all of his body like OH MY GOD - And wow the angle of the shot and how it struck SF is totally wrong and omggg this scene was faster than I thought JESUS CHRIST - is it just me or did Shao Fei get hit on the wrong side? Either they missed a scene or the bullet came from elsewhere
and then we get the scene of tang yi storming into the hospital and he goes straight for hong ye first, hugs her as she cries etc. and then hot doctor is there and when hot doctor is NOT SMILING  YOU KNOW SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN - anyway, the nurse tells hot doctor that the surgery has been prepped, and then hot doctor nods and says ‘let’s go’ - and that’s when tang yi REMEMBERS AND LOOKS UP - “is that for meng shao fei?” And his look of absolute regret is ridiculous
and hot doctor just somberly nods
Police chief STILL DOESNT KNOW THAT SHAO FEI HAS BEEN SHOT omg he’s going around doing his usual shit and everyone is clearing shit with him and fuck he misses shao fei so much I like that they finally show that shao fei is useful in the office and everyone is dependent on him and then suddenly Yu Qi turns up because she somehow got the call that shao fei is in the hospital
Oh goddddd Tang Yi’s face as he sits there AND LOL Dao yi (glasses guy) knows police chief quite well he called him Brother Bao, and tells him to calm down and they will take care of everything but POLICE CHIEF AINT HAVING NONE OF THAT BULLSHIT he pushes dao yi aside and this is one of the only times he can legit grab a mob boss by the neck and not get shot at after - police chief loves Shao Fei so much you can tell he totally lost it and Hong Ye genuinely feels bad and she’s saying sorry over and over to him as tang yi sits there catatonic - tang yi is totally quiet
also not sure if you guys caught it but the older guy in the investigative team, the one who always kind of says smth subtly bad about shao fei, he shot a look to bodyguard ah de when police chief was confronting tang yi in the hospital - they are totally up to something, corrupt police!!!!
The rest of the investigative team - LOL Zhao zi: “wow I’ve never seen police boss chief grab someone so much larger than him by the neck” - Yu Qi really likes Shao Fei, she’s crying by herself at the stairs and police chief is the one who’s standing by Shao fei’s door the moment he’s out of surgery and he scoffs “what ‘they’ll take care of everything’? the moment they heard shao fei was going to pull through they all left’- he tells zhao zi that they’ll start investigating who the fuck was behind the shooting and reminds them all to be careful
Captain Shi: “those who dare to touch any one from the investigative team, I’ll bring them all back to the police station!!!!”
OMG WE GET THE SCENE WHERE TANG YI IS HOTLY WALKING AND RIPPING OFF HIS JACKET AND OH JESUS CHRIST BRASS KNUCKLES?!!! Anw here’s the gem oh my god: Tang yi comes in where the culprit is already seated and he tells everyone to get the fuck out (OMG YOU KNOW HE MEANS BUSINESS)
Ah De is like ‘boss, this is a small thing, let me do it’ - and he’s so damn insistent on interrogating the culprit himself even though tang yi is literally ready to set fire on the bitch you know and i’m like AH DE THAT IS SO NOT SMART YOU WANNA DIE?!
and well, we all called it - tang yi hears that and he’s like wtf and he gets mad, hauls bodyguard ah de off his feet and slams him against the wall and yells: “SMALL THING?! HE TOUCHED MY PEOPLE, AND YOU CALL IT A SMALL THING?!”
and bodyguard is like fuckkkk: “yes i’m sorry boss, i said the wrong thing, i’ll leave now”
and then he goes out and hovers by the door while tang yi puts on his brass knuckles and starts punching the dude who is yelling a bit like... not realistically HAHAHAHA - and omg Jack hit it right on the nail, he asked Brother De why he looks so worried and ‘jokingly’ asks, “why, do u know the person inside?” And Brother De is so angry and defensive - jack totally knows what is up
Brother de and Hong Ye meet up and here we find out that they ordered the hit on shao fei in a sense to get rid of him - they wanted to show tang yi that shao fei can’t protect anyone and then chase him away, but they were supposed to come teach shao fei a lesson with like wooden sticks and not guns - hong ye was a bit stunned by that as well and she asked ah de like wtf did you really want to kill me?! and ah de is like confused also, he doesn’t really know how the plan went wrong?! and hong ye is like, whatever, i will cooperate with you only up to here, if tang yi manages to get any answers, it’s all on you (like not cool hong ye, tang yi would totes forgive you if you just admitted it i think)
anyway, switch to the balcony scene with tang yi and jack, where jack asks who it was that ordered the hit, and tang yi says: “chen wen hao”
okay so my theory is that maybe chen wen hao really has smth to do with this - he kind of derailed the plan and changed it to legitly wanting to kil hong ye and shao fei (more hong ye than shao fei more likely) - but right now they dont know it they just think that they’re safe and their story checks out
Okay so Hong Ye and Dao Yi - Gosh she’s kind of a brat but I get where she’s coming from. anyway she leaves brother de and then dao yi is waiting for her in the carpark - the man knows he way better than she knows herself, and i think he knows that she had something to do with the shooting, but he didn’t say anything except to hint that she better leave shao fei up to tang yi and stop trying to interfere. hong ye is adamant that shao fei is a different kind of person from them, and dao yi is like: “that’s for the boss to decide. the way he treats him... shao fei is different to him”
OH MY GOD THANK YOU SOMEONE SAYING IT AS IT IS FINALLY NO MORE SUBTLE LOOKS AND SMILES SOMEONE SAID IT
and anw, hong ye manages to make this entire thing about her and how dao yi doesn’t love her - sister, i really get you and dao yi really needs to get his shit together, but srsly, a man just got shot for you because you were unhappy with his presence - and gosh unrequited (actually requited) love, but i get her in this part
but seriously, i get that she want shao fei out of the way but they way she did it was totally wrong, does she not know that tang yi is soft for him and cares for him like he has no one else before? she was willing to hurt him to make a point, and then ah de is - gosh dude get a grip
AND OMGGGGGG TANG YI’S FACE AS HE IS BY SHAO FEI’S BEDSIDE - this is what heartbreak looks like guys, he looks like he’s saying goodbye and his fucking expression - wow Chris did a fucking good job he totally looks heartbroken and as if shao fei died or smth, he’s holding his hand and air-tracing his nose and he looks like he’s going to cry - HE REALLY LOVES HIM GUYS - the emotion was really right on point
(and lol the chinese audience - they were scolding tang yi during the first part of the ep because he didn’t seem to have much of a reaction to shao fei’s injury and then when the last part came everyone went BATSHIT CRAZY)
what the fuck is going to happen next episode? i ask, but i know already - tang yi is getting ready to say goodbye to shao fei and push him away because he realised how dangerous it is for shao fei to be around him BUT OUR FAVE CHARACTERS WILL FIND SOME WAY TO BE TOGETHER AGAIN NO WORRIES I DOUBT THEIR BREAKUP WILL LAST MORE THAN AN EP

you make loving fun | travlyn
title: you make loving fun
summary: love is a complex feeling, but when it comes to her, only poetry seems to flow. Travlyn. Starlight.
a/n: AAAAAA. About time I write a fic based off the fake dating duo—man I’m so excited for their romantic plot line as I am about Travis’s entire set up for whatever role he might take. I had to indulge in the good feelings okay.
warning(s): travis being lovestruck, confession, spoilers (sort’ve), smooch smooch
.
.
.
.
.
.
He isn’t much of a waxing poet, despite her reflections about him would insist otherwise.
When in comfort and thoughtful, he always has the right thing to say—and she would laugh, sweetly, genuinely, admitting to him with a softer tone “Sometimes it makes me almost nervous how convincing you are. Are you sure you don’t want to be an actor?”
He huffs a breath, batting at her and she laughs again, tipping her chair against the railing of open air balcony; the darkness sea met with the inky abyss of the sky, a bright and white moon large in the sky as more stars than he could even comprehend populating the atmosphere. And she, existing against this backdrop, looks like what his love for her feels.
.
.
She never lets her playfulness die down, narrowing when she teases and growing wide momentarily when she finds something of interest. How she fits comfortably against him, wiggling as she doesn’t think twice with invading his space to show him some nice photos she takes of their recent excursion or something funny she seen online. She hums in acknowledgement as he complains about long lines and she berates when he skimps on lotion when they laze. Attentive and busying, she would sometimes excuse her forwardness: I told you I nag. She advises and critiques, pushing but in the right direction, sometimes him resulting in childishly sticking his tongue, a sign of defeat because… she is right, again.
(Which is why he savors the moments when he catches her off kilter, because though her reactions weren’t over the top, she never got away with it. Arms raising in defeat, she snorts with an affectionate eye roll and pursing her lips as she watches him cheers in the small victory.)
.
.
“You know,” she stretches, letting her chair fall forward to its proper position with a clunk against the floor. Some of her hair falls forward, the temptation to tuck it back as she grins, her blue eyes watching him with delight of the words she will say next. “Us dating since high school is a rather… long time.”
He clicks his tongue, groaning immediately as he sinks down in his seat and taking a pouty sip from his fruity tropic drink. “Katelyn. Please.” He feels his face flushing hot with his mumble, but he can’t even bring himself to mockingly glare. She’s taking it better now than before, coming down from the stressed plane she tends to visit—and mainly, he adds to this fact guiltily, because of him.
Now it’s a topic within her arsenal to fluster Travis, the smooth talker, into stuttering mess and jamming his system.
“Please what, love of my life?” she leans forward, “Am I testing your patience, darling?”
“…maybe. Makes me question if I’m really the annoying one of the couple.”
“I humbly accept the title if it means you become the responsible one.”
He makes a face, after taking a thought sip. “You barely trust me with the suite key.”
“You nearly lost it twice—and locked yourself out once already.”
“And then you bought me this oh so fashionable lanyard, so I won’t lose it,” he hums, patting his chest—and sits up straighter, patting his pockets. She gestures to the floral-patterned lanyard on the table. He grabs it, returning to its trusty place, “I’m fully ready to be the Responsible one.”
She laughs, a small snort as she pushes back her hair.
A smile grows… warm but he frowns at the twinge of sadness to it, as her fingers lock together and she taps her thumbs, looking down in thought. “Hey Travis…” she looks up then, still smiling though he feels her guard starts to be let down. “Can I be honest?”
“Of course. What’s on your mind, Katie?”
“Well,” Katelyn says, “You.”
.
.
He admits it hurts, the barriers she sets. After every hurdle, another wall seems to erect and leaves him always with two options: to trek on or to give up.
He can sing until the sunset that his feelings weren’t superficial, but others, especially Katelyn herself, were still skeptical of them.
The resident flirt, skirt chaser and dude-mancer (clever nickname, brought to him by Laurance), Travis isn’t the type one would look at and think “Oh, he’s the settling sort.”
But maybe it’s because his standards set to one bar, he never felt the will to really think about it until she gives him the chance.
The irony, though, is as he scales her walls of blocks after blocks, surpassing what her friends know, then close friends, then what KC and Aphmau knows, closer and closer, she opens—she’s doing the same to him. And he doesn’t notice, until he catches her studying gaze, laying on her side as he slowly rises from their nap on the pull-out couch in their suite.
She notices.
Soon enough, it almost scares him how she quickly and accurately deciphers his fleeting expressions between masks. “You’re an open book,” she comments, sliding over and resting her head on his shoulder, after bout of loneliness overcomes him and she quickly supplies him with her own, quiet form of comfort. She pauses, her nose wrinkling in thought, “I wanted to say, ‘you’re lucky I love reading so much.’ I hate that. Irene.”
Of course, he laughs, people don’t understand how no-nonsense Katelyn, distant and cold Katelyn, could make him but in their quieter moments, he melts—but what hurts is she’s only starting to. She isn’t there yet.
Terrifying to think, as he lets his guards down quicker and quicker, he can’t blame her for not whole-heartedly trusting him with the situation he places them in… and helpless not knowing, as his love only dips deeper for her, where she lies in feelings. His guess is as good as anybody’s.
(But nobody knows the truth of their arrangement. This is a struggle he takes on alone, not even able to confide in the one person he should be able to.)
.
.
Me? He thinks, trying hard to school his surprise but her expression only saddens, she must’ve notice his worry and guilt.
A pause settles in between them, she bites her lip as she ponders—her ‘Give me a moment, I’m trying to see if I can phrase this right’. So, he keeps his mouth shut, both out of knowing the habit she possesses and knowing it’s quicker if he lets her speak.
And when she finally breaks the silence, she begins slowly, looking away from him. “You… are really something special.”
…What.
“No, really,” she glances at him, already losing steam as she… blushes, “I’m serious. Not just special, Travis, you’re something else entirely. And you know, I always think to myself ‘Well I got him figured out’, that you’re this or you’re that. But…” she makes a gesture he doesn’t understand, “You always throw a curve ball, and I just don’t get you, as much I want to.” She almost sounds frustrated but… there’s something else to her voice. She pushes her bangs back, letting out a dragged-out sigh, “Believe me. I want to.”
“To be a better pretend girlfriend?” He says lightly but that earns him a glare.
“No,” she chides, “to be a better friend. To… be… Irene, why can’t I be you? Just say the right thing in an emotional way.”
He blinks.
.
.
They have a game, over the course of their pretend dating career, to sometimes quiz each other about each other.
He thought he would ace this game—but she soon proves to be some sort of savant at memorizing facts and quirks of Travis Valkrum.
Not to say, he isn’t as good or even better; but he had years of an undying high school crush turn into neighbor into close friends under his belt. Maybe she’s just perceptive. Maybe, with his hopefulness shining through, she feels the same and over the years notice him like how he notices her.
(She hasn’t beat his score yet.)
.
.
“I… what?” he laughs, almost incredulously, “Katelyn… Katie, I don’t… You don’t wanna be me. Maybe you’re overthinking it—I’m not that complex.”
She points her finger at him, squinting with condemning look, “No. No modesty, no lies.” She continues to assert, “You hide way too damn much. You zone out, you don’t always say what you want to say, and…. You know, I’m the first to let somebody’s business be their business. Travis, I’m being honest right now—“she leans from her seat, putting her elbow on the table, and her expression still serious, “this long since stopped being about the stuff.”
.
.
For the first time, in a long time, he sees her completely drop her guard.
While she doesn’t press her face against the window, she intensely stares at the puppy in the window—white and puffy, it tilts its head at her and she whispers, almost reverently, “Oh my Irene.”
He never seen her care for pets before; neither hate or dislike, ironically enough, she always seems indifferent to animals. Aphmau and KC were wild enough, and they always brought in strays when they can. She always shrugs, Dogs, cats, parrots— they never stay for long.
So, this is a surprise.
“He’s… so small,” she whispers to him, tugging on his sleeve to get him to look closer, “I bet you he’s really soft.”
He shoots her a glance. But… seeing the look of awe, he can’t help the smile to come on. “We could go inside and see?”
“…Isn’t Dante waiting for you though?” she glances away for a moment, before her eyes return to the white pup, “We should get going, shouldn’t we?”
“Don’t want to get attached?”
She doesn’t answer.
He starts to pull her towards the door of the pet shop. Her whispered protests die the moment the shop keep lets her hold the wiggling ball of fur.
(She doesn’t take the dog home. But the way she smiles at him, her arm looping his as they walk out of the store, he wonders if he should call back later and ask about the dog—maybe the breed at least. He might’ve found his birthday present to her.)
.
.
Her eyes soften, and she scoots her chair closer, grabbing at his hand. “Travis. Tell me what we are, what you think we are.”
.
.
He wants to ask her often if there is anybody who catches her fancy. Or if she has a type.
She avoids the question smoother than she does the moon walk—though she could honestly just hyper focus on the game at hand.
(She ends up beating Laurance’s score. She never ends up answering his throwaway question.)
.
.
Travis feels his mouth dries, his heart thudding in his chest—he couldn’t just avoid her gaze, it’s too obvious but he does. Silence is uncomfortable.
“Do you want to know what I think we are?”
He nods.
“We’re two people,” she starts, her chair scoots closer as she leans forward and squeezes his hand, “who come off across as selfish but it’s really them having terrible luck and always doubting themselves. Hearts in the right place at the wrong time. Jumping at the wrong chances…” he could feel the small smile in her voice, she continuing as she takes his hand and runs her thumb over his knuckles, “but unlike me, you know how to make the best of it.”
He looks up her, his face is burning. His mouth is sealed and she takes it as a sign to continue.
“We’re remarkable idiots.”
He snorts at this. And she chuckles, shaking her head.
“Maybe that’s why I like you so much,” she quietly says.
.
.
She cradles the green package in her hands, her face flushing from ear to ear. She all but shoves the present into his arms, stuffing her hands into her pocket.
It isn’t his birthday, nor a holiday that celebrates gift giving.
Frankly, he’s expecting the pizza man to be at his door, not a flustered Katelyn who shoves whatever it is in this box and now bolting across the street back to her home.
“…Thank you?” He calls out questioningly but the door is slammed from across the street, so he just shrugs.
He rips open the present, letting the letter drop to the ground—and nearly the box, but luckily, he caught it in his surprise fumble.
The letter read:
You have pretty expensive taste. Please don’t break it— but there’s a warranty to it if you do. I know this is nothing to the places you and Terry take me to.
Thanks for being a pretty cool dude,
Katelyn.
(The present is a graphic tablet—the very same one he put on his wishlist and slowly saving up for on the side. He wonders when she saw it—or if she asks Dante to snoop for her. He remembers wishing he could run over to give her a kiss—he settle with a hug the next time he did.)
.
.
He opens his mouth. Then shuts it. Then stares at their hands, before looking at her face again.
“You… mean that in a…”
“Yes.”
“So you…”
“Yes.”
“Romantically?”
“And in a friend sort of a way too, but yes.”
“….no,” he says in disbelief, “you… like me… For how long?”
She grins. “I’m still trying to figure out when I started.”
He grows quiet, but as reassurance, he interlock their fingers, their knees touching as he leans forward. His heart races, she is glowing in this light; a grin on her face, conveying relief but also excitement.
Oh boy. “So you like me… but…”
Her falls a little, softness stop as her breath hitches. Panic.
“You know I don’t just like you?” he asks quietly. Her eyes is wide. “Katie—nobody keeps up a lie like you being my girlfriend for over ten years just for a like.”
“I…”
He licks his lips nervously, cracking a sheepish smile, though in his ears his heart is now thundering. “Maybe a love?”
.
.
She stands at the shoreline, dusk has already came and went and it’s just the two of them right now at this particular part of the beach.
“Ah,” she says, stretching her arms out and feel the breeze—her hair is pull into a low ponytail, and with her swim suit, she looks… He flushes, looking away as if the scene he’s witnessing is private. He looks up when she turns to him, grabbing his hand as she pulls into the tide with her.
“You’re sulking way too much,” she says with a grin, “enjoy this with me. Not every day you get to go on an expensive trip like this.”
Especially just the two of us… and my dad.
“Hey.” She stands in the waves, her face dropping into something touch concern, as she studies his face and she reaches up to pinch his cheek, “Travis, it’s just the two of us. No pretending, okay? So don’t feel guilty—I came to help you out, I’m completely fine with this. Now show me that doofus smile.”
He smiles a little.
“Nah—I know you can do better, Travis.” She laughs a little and he laughs as well, shaking his head.
“You’re so pushy.”
“I’m a demanding fake girlfriend as well as a bossy friend,” she pats his shoulder, “Now that we have our feet wet, you up for a night swim?”
He shrugs, “We might as well put our suits to use.”
“Exactly my thoughts.”
(She ends up winning. He doesn’t mind.)
.
.
He kissed her before—or rather, she kissed him before.
But this… is different.
Though her shoulders are tense, the kiss is light and nervous, soft and warm. She relaxes the grip on his hand, as if she expects him to pull away despite he just confess his love for her. It’s cute how her eyes are squeezed shut and she didn’t take a breath or release one.
Their kisses before were always a heat in the moment type thing, like her, it’s a flash of warmth then her running off before they could do anything about what happened.
His hands slide up her arms, and he shuts his eyes, returning the kiss with a soft hum. She lets out a content sigh, relaxing her shoulders as she reaches up and wrapping her arms around.
Their kiss is fruity, like the drinks they had, delightful and refreshing as they deepen it for a moment before pulling away.
“…Heh.”
He flushes, beaming brightly as he leans his forehead against hers. “What’s so funny?”
“Pineapples. Doesn’t taste as bad as I thought.”
“Is that so?” he chuckles, “I’m willing to give you another taste.”
“Terrible line,” she gives him a small peck, slowly closing her eyes again as she lets herself be pulled onto his lap, “But yes, please.”
He isn’t a waxing poet—because poets could go on and on how magical a kiss like this is.
Only thought that came to his mind? Hot damn.
