Gems in MLP Magic Princess Analysis

I've been tracking my gem accumulation for the past 2 weeks and putting them into a spreadsheet. This includes things that can be reasonably considered dailies or things that refresh. I did not include things like pony level-up gems or minecart gems because those are dependent on active rather than passive gameplay.

Here is my pie chart:

Gem shops accounted for the bulk of my gems, giving me 354 of them over the two weeks I tracked. This, of course, would vary according to how many gem shops you actually have. I have put money into acquiring some of these shops, but events have been known to give them out for free. Even if you're a F2P player, you can still benefit from these, and even getting one with a very poor output rate contributes to your daily gem count.

It could also be argued that Critters are a type of Gem shop. This feature tends to net me about six gems per day with a fully upgraded fleet. This feature definitely feels a little later game, as you have to spend quite a while initially upgrading the critters to make them produce gems at all, but I would definitely advise investing as soon as possible to people who don't have these yet. Even just having the pigs and sheep can provide a good steady trickle of gems. Where I'm at with the game, I currently only feed the pigs and cows, but the cows can be much more difficult to acquire.

Events are the next biggest slice here, and this is definitely variable according to which events are going on. We can also count the rewarding fun (monthly ad watches) here. I was tracking during a month of which I already had the monthly ad pony (which nets me 50 gems after watching 81 ads) and the Crowns & Chaos event started to rerun, which is an event I've already completed in its entirety in its very first run. If you have an event that you have none of the prizes for, you will not get as many gems as I have been getting, as you will get characters and shops instead. Characters are arguably worth more than 20/30 gems, so it's worthwhile!

While I believe there is worth in playing the siege/blitz events again even if you already have all of the ponies/shops, I can't say the same for social or special events. I often find that the work you put into these events outweighs the benefits of 12/15 gems, especially seeing as how my gem shops easily make that amount in less than a day. If you're early on or don't mind playing any particular event, though, it doesn't hurt to try. I know I don't mind playing Clear The Skies for a few days every week.

Let's remove those two sections for a moment and focus on the others. Events and Gem Shops are pretty variable depending on where you are in the game and "get gem shops!" is not the most helpful advice when you have no choice but to wait for an event that actually rewards one.

Yowza! This tells me what I already knew, which was that the Group Quests are incredibly lucrative if you have the pro ponies for it. In my opinion, if a pro pony is on sale, it is always worthwhile to purchase them because the sooner you have them, the sooner you will start earning gems back on that pony. Doubly so if the pony is a fixed pro. Pro ponies are actually identified in the shop now with the golden icon, but you can find lists online of which ponies are fixed and which are random. Gem chances for these are random, but with enough pro ponies, you're bound to make some gems.

Also interesting to me is that Klugetown Pop is more lucrative than the daily gems or the pests (parasprites, bats, changelings). This is subject to randomness, too, but Klugetown Pop tokens are given out fairly freely in the group quests. If you can get a helper to gather those tokens, it's best to send them on their task as much as possible. Interesting that the Crystal Balloon Pop didn't even make it on the list, but that balloon pop sucks point blank. Equestria balloon pop likely ranks higher than royal simply because you are able to tap it more often even if the chances for gems are lower.

I'm not going to track my gem count as intensely anymore unless I think something dramatically changes, but it's cool to see a pie chart. I love a pie chart. I also averaged about 50 gems per day according to my tracking, but if you put more active play hours in (really in Minecart is the only thing I can think of as being something where you can get gems by actively playing) you could probably increase your count.

I cant help but slap my palm against my forehead whenever Colby makes suggestive comments like this because a. We already know who hes talking about plus he likes to act like he doesnt like the attention but he obviously does, why else would he throw that little tidbit to keep people guessing?

b.this person makes it too obvious because the little relevancy they have is due to him so whenever they’re going to meet up all these fan accts reappear and they post suggestive stuff non stop (as if we are not aware they are buying followers),

and c. Its all temporary until he forgets them and finds another person to drag along til winter rolls around again and she reminds its cold in her mountain top.

i mean, as of rn, it seems like the "special someone" was brennen. it's possible he's gonna go see someone else, like mlp. but i'll hold out my annoyance until then.

but i'm also annoyed that he's hanging with brennen so…. 🤷🏻‍♀️

as for what you said about colby and mlp, i agree for the most part. i think sometimes colby likes to stir the pot, but at the same time i think he just says shit and doesn't realize how much drama it could and can cause. this situation feels like a 50/50 thing.

and mlp does have a tendency to give clues that her and him are gonna hang out, especially when she posted that butterfly and the word "soon…" so, it ain't much more obvious than that. and i truly believe she contacts her fans in these gcs and let's them know that they're gonna hang out. bc otherwise, her fans are psychic and they can just feel a shift in the matrix when those two are gonna hang lol

but as i mentioned in another ask, i'm kinda done with all of this. part of me just wants to ignore when they hang out anymore and find anything else to talk about. bc at this point, unless the content they plan to put out on her channel is about the history of their friendship and give us an in depth idea as to wtf happens between them two, idc. and even then, idc. my interest was peaked and has long past.

this was fun and interesting and ~tea~ back when colby was hanging out with girls every other week and then mlp would come in and sprinkle in some bs to her fans about how her and colby were still dating. it was kinda fun back then, but now……… i can't be bothered to give a fuck about their weird ass "will they won't they" shit. we ain't in high school.

girl, you already won the guy. it ain't my fault he doesn't want you like that. either talk your shit out like adults or shut up at this point. like, you're almost 30. stop playing coy lmaoooo

Tell me more about autistic Kaoru

OF COURSE. his biggest special interest is Cinderella. Absolutley adores that movie and watches it constantly. Was mostly into it as a child/in middle school but he still loves it and talks abt it. Watched it so much I think Hikaru is able to recite the whole thing word for word.

He also had an mlp phase that he's very embrassed abt (also bc Hikaru routinely made fun of him for it) (but Hikaru also watched it with him so what does that say about him...). His fave was always Rarity. Didn't watch the later seasons as he kinda forgot to. G5 was announced when he was in college and it brought all the memories back and somehow he and Hikaru convinced the whole Host Club to watch it with them. Hani loves it, Haruhi thought it was cute, Tamaki cried (hes emotional), Kyoya doesn't give a shit, and Takashi liked it but you wouldnt know that bc he never talks lol.

Since his autism isn't severe, it wasn't really recognized and he didn't get diagnosed until after highschool. He and Hikaru never really thought about it much, they just figured that's how Kaoru was. Like, that he just loved certain things a whole lot and was compelled to talk abt them for hours, that he got really fidgety when excited (I would think pacing/moving around a lot), and that he just hated certain textures with a passions (when he was a little kid he cried if people tried to make him wear socks normally. He hated the feeling so bad he Must wear them inside-out) (no im not projecting what are you saying haha) and that he could be overwhelmed and unable to do certain tasks (executive dysfunction) for "no reason"

It was actually Haruhi who, after being Kaoru's friend for all of highschool, suggested he get tested because she thinks he MIGHT be autistic. So he did, and well what would you know. At least it explained a lot of things he couldn't adequately explain before.

Side note I think Hikaru has ADHD. He moves on from topics/ideas at the speed of light and gets bored very, very easily. Its a known thing that the twins will stop doing something if it gets boring, but I like to think 90% of the time it was Hikaru who decided those things were boring and Kaoru just followed along bc he didn't care one way or the other. He's always looking for something to keep himself occupied so that's why he comes up with so many crazy ideas. The introduction of the Host Club actually helped improve his quality of life bc 1. it gave him something to do and someplace where he could excersizes his ideas and 2. it was able to teach him some patience since he DID have to be still and slow occasionally just chatting with people. I also think it helped both twins with getting used to routines, since they never cared much for school (Hikaru struggled to pay attention and Kaoru did as well because he thought it was boring).

Hikaru got his diagnosis the same time as Kaoru since they figured they should both get tested just in case (and because he didn't want Kaoru to feel singled out). He didn't expect anything to come from it but surprise!

It’s canon that the MLPverse is a multiverse, so there’s nothing stopping us from saying there is!That just has me imagining though. If Drake is a pony… what does Best Jester look like as one????

So, I couldn't help but try my hand at that idea since I did have something in mind and didn't want to shove my QuackerJack fangirling onto someone else's MLP post, but anyway, what is it the kids used to say..? My hand slipped? :P At first, I considered just making a white stallion pony and slapping the QuackerJack costume on him, but that's the easy way out, and if there's one thing I know about in my limited knowledge of MLP, it's that the ponies can be wacky colors without it immediately meaning you got a Mary Sue/Gary Stu. Some ponies have bright colors, some have interesting markings, some have multi-colored hair, and the manes and tails can be straight, curly, wavy, long, short, spiky, bouncy... it can be whatever you feel fits the aesthetic you want. So I thought I'd adapt my style of how I draw the fool's cap into the hair instead. Curvy, springy, and split color. The tail has a bell tied to the end so that he still jingles when he moves around, and the tail merges both halves of the hat in a swirl. The hair is puffy, to give a fun appearance, either to bring to mind colorful entertainers or perhaps cotton candy or the fluffy stuffing in a plushie. The eyes were chosen to have heterochromia because that's just a fun choice, and I noticed the MLP versions of Drake and Gosalyn both had purple eyes, so it's clear that they weren't restrained to the established green eyes average in the cartoon and comics (QuackerJack was also given green eyes in some of the comic panels, and with the amount of Duck characters that seem to have that, I can only assume that green is actually the dominant eye color of the Duck characters). Obviously, I went with the same colors as the fools cap.

I also made him an Earth Pony because canon QuackerJack doesn't have superpowers, so an Earth Pony seems like a more reasonable choice than a Pegasus or Unicorn.

Beak colors were adapted into freckles. The shoes were turned into markings, the sleeves became the colors of the front hooves. Big nose because big beak.

The cutie mark is a "buncha bananas". Because, well, Mr. Banana Brain has to be put into this somehow. In terms of cutie mark reasoning, I suppose it's because bananas are pretty funny, and a common source of slapstick comedy, so bananas could mean that his special talent is entertaining people... and also, he's just plain bananas. In fact, if I was to come up with a copyright friendly name for this variant, I'd probably call him "Buncha Bananas".

I also made a QAAU!Jacky variant because why not? :P

Again, I should say that I barely know anything about MLP:Fim, so this is all based on observations

MLP x WC crossover (????)

Hi! I decided to come here and share some concepts I've been playing with in my brain

When I was a kid I loved the idea of a MLP and Warrior Cats crossover, both being important parts of my childhood, never went too far with it though! These days I've been thinking about how it could go however, and I think I had some interesting ideas I'd like to share, on read more there's some sketches too ehhehe (just sketches though!)

Ok to avoid going too much into negative stereotypes I think its a good call to make them a tad more like farmers, they don't farm much other than what they need (they still hunt and eat meat) and in general oppose the princesses, their ruling, the cozy pony life and capitalism. I suppose they would be also a bit more similar to mafias maybe but uh without any money. Unsure what they'd call non-clan ponies, city-slickers? Boot-lickers? Monarch-pets? I don't know!

They all believe firmly in Starclan, who here, are responsible for making leaders into Alicorns. They have 9 lives too I think? I want the ceremony where the dead ponies come and give gifts to the leader to still be a thing, but in general you come out of there an alicorn! Only leaders are alicorns.

They also believe Cutie Marks are granted by Starclan (if they are or not idk hah) to an apprentice when they're ready to be a warrior! Apprentices who achieve a cutie mark too early in training are expected to pass a few tests first, and rarely a pony won't get their cutie mark but when that happens they will discuss with their mentor and leader about the possibility of not being a warrior, ponies sometimes will leave the clans searching for their destiny or start training as medicine cats or nursery keepers, stuff like that. Of course they're not called queens hagshaha they hate the monarchy!

Other changed terminology is that instead of -kit and -paw apprentices and kits are called -filly and -hoof. Also every cat with the -fur suffix now has the mane suffix, -claw isn't a very common suffix either, common options are -horn, -shoe, along with stuff the ponies live with that the cats don't like fruits, grains, metals and the like! Ah and the names can be together or separate doesn't matter.

To species, unsure on that either it makes sense for the Riverclan ponies to be mostly Sea Ponies as expected but I don't know about the other clans as much. I haven't watched the show in years knowing more about it would probably help this crossover a lot! So far I've sketched mostly riverclan cats and added wings to a few with names that seemed fitting, they're just sketches though

BUT I do know one thing

Bloodclan is located in the Canterlot(?) corners no one dares look. Is there a sewage system?? I'd put them there maybe. They wear metallic spiked hoof shoes and uh horse gear in general and backpacks but emo and spiked and full of weapons. Fake horns or horn add ons to make them dangerous, same to wings. Scourge replaced his feathers with knives.

Ah and they all have fangs, it's one of their definitive traits as warriors, Firestar grew fangs.

Year, ML is a pretty frustrating show since the concept is the interesting but the execution leaves a lot to be desired (doesn't help that the creator has an ego the size of a moon). Honestly I don't even bother watching full episodes of the show anymore or avoid spoilers.

MLP definitely had its highs and lows but the final three episodes are incredibly solid abd the final episode with the last song had me bawling 😭. Though now it's actually a great time to get back into MLP since the G5 movie will be coming out in two weeks in Netflix. The premise is that it takes place centuries after G4 in which somehow the pony tribes all ended up separating from each other. I'm really interested to discover how all of Twilight and co hardwork ended up being undone.

Yess ML has such wasted potential! I mean, look at everything the fandom has been coming up with since the beginning for arts and fics and headcanons! Honestly, the love i feel for ML now is 99% due to fan content dshgk. I stopped watching when it got too obvious it was becoming a show more to sell toys than anything, watching the scarce amount of character development going down the drain was painful too [talking about u chloe i was rooting for u :') ] MLP is another show that will always have a special place in my heart because it was what motivated me to go online to post art, so it's another cartoon that goes into the "wouldn't be where i am today if it wasn't for it" list. I heard a just few things about the movie when some screenshots were released a good while ago. Maybe ill watch it if i feel up to it one day,, and now that i'm thinking about it, I'm also kinda curious to see if i still know how to draw ponies sdlgj it has been entire 5 years since the last time i did it

Woah, I finally got off my butt and posted this

So, anyway! For a while now, I've been meaning to start post my MLP Next Gens bios, but I didn't really have the motivation to do so. Today, I came across them, just sitting in my phone, so here's the very first of, I hope, many.

Name: Prince Sunshine Galaxa Gleam

"What's the big deal? Ghosts talk to me. Ponies don't."

Parents: Clever Experiment and Mud Fish

Species: Alicorn/male

Occupation: royal student/spiritual counsellor

Nicknames: Sunny, Shine Boy, Gleamer, Foal 14, Sunshine, Pansy

Born: Ponyville

Residing: Canterlot Castle

Personality/Background:

In a dark and dingy bar, somewhere in the very depths of Appleloosa, a failed scientist named Clever Experiment and a poor fisherpony named Mud Fish, ended up side by side at the bar.

After a few minutes of drunken conversation, Clever realised that Mud Fish is the answer to all her of her problems. If she could just get him to move things along...

After a couple more drinks, and a few drunken confessions, one thing lead to another and Clever was soon pregnant. Mud Fish was very excited by this, as he'd fallen hopelessly in love with Clever.

But Clever wasn't interested in love.

She had all she needed to begin her best experiment yet. An experiment to see whether she could create a serum which could transform ponies into Alicorns, no good deeds required.

She kidnapped several other foals, even hooking up with several ponies, just like Mud Fish.

But the experiments did not go well. Each of Sunshine's 'siblings' ended up being horrifically mutilated and killed by the serum. The only one who survived was Sunshine, who was successfully transformed into an alicorn.

Soon after, Celestia and the Day Guard stormed Clever's lab. Clever fled, leaving Sunshine and her three assistants to face them. The assistants were killed, instantly, and the serum prototypes were destroyed.

Sunshine, terrified by the blood and loud noises, raced into Clever's office and hid underneath the desk. Celestia, who came to investigate the sound of sobs, discovered not a ravenous monster, but instead a tearful, alicorn foal.

Celestia felt immensely sorry for the tiny foal, and took it upon herself to find him a safe home.

Turns out that home was her home, because he never ended up leaving Canterlot Castle.

Sunshine is an extremely quiet and sensitive colt. While he may seem antisocial to those who don't know him, he's actually just very reserved, due to the bullying he suffered as a child. He finds it hard to trust ponies, unsure whether they'll hurt him too, or not. Despite this, Sunshine is exceedingly kind and will forgo all fear to stand up for those he cares about.

Relationships:

Sunshine has developed a severe case of Stockholm syndrome towards his mother. She was one of the only mother's he ever knew, and so he feels obligated to care about her. Celestia has tried many times to cure his Stockholm, but has so far been unsuccessful. Sunshine does fear Clever, exceptionally so, but cannot help caring about her.

Sunshine does care greatly for his adopted mother, Celestia, though. He idolizes her, and adores her. The two often go out on mother-in-law outings, which Sunshine greatly enjoys. He's a total mamas colt and isn't ashamed of it one bit. He's, if anything, confused why other ponies make fun of him for loving his mother.

Due to his quiet personality, he doesn't have many friends. Because of this, he tends to spend most of his time in the company of spirits. His closest friend, in fact, is a ghost by the name of Mia, a young mare who died in her teens. Mia is sarcastic, brave and outgoing. She often makes jokes about being dead, but is secretly enraged by the fact that her life was cut so short. Sunshine is also good friends with Luna's adopted son, Blank Blather. The two often take nighttime runs, where they race or fly through tow, just goofing off.

Sunshine is not on good terms with either Lone Wolf, the son of Tantabus and Nightmare Rarity, or Medusa, the daughter of Trixie and Mane-iac. Lone Wolf was a bully as a child, and made it his personal mission to make Sunshine miserable. In fact, Wolfie was the one who gave Sunshine his scar. Sunshine is in fact very afraid of Lone Wolf, and he is a prominent feature in Sunshine's nightmares. Medusa and Sunshine were close friends, as foals, as both of them were bullied severely by Lone Wolf as foals. But, as the two grew older, and Medusa developed feelings towards the handsome Lone Wolf, Medusa turned on Sunshine. She believed that the only way to get Wolfie to notice her was to start punching Wolfie's favourite punching bag. This hurt Sunshine more than he'd like to let on.

As teenagers, Sunshine and Talon, Luna's adopted daughter, dated. During this time, Sunshine was still severely closeted, and believes that having a marefriend would 'fix him.' Talon believed she was completely in love with Sunshine. In fact, it was only a childhood crush, and when Sunshine admitted that he was gay, Talon was perfectly happy to just stay friends. The two are now close friends and Talon will often surprise Sunshine with very elaborate gifts.

Special:

-Sunshine posses the ability to see and interact with ghosts. This ability is kept a secret from Celestia, as Sunshine is very self-conscious, and believes that she will find him freakish if he tells her.

-Sunshine owns a patchwork doll that looks just like Clever. He finds it comforting, even though he wishes he didn't.

-Sunshine suffers from severe social anxiety and finds it very difficult to leave the palace and interact with others.

-Sunshine's 'siblings' names were Foal 77, Foal 12(brothers), Foal 68, Foal 74 and Foal 99(sisters)

-Sunshine is very talented at spiritual counselling. He uses his gift to counsel those who have recently lost ones that they love.

-Sunshine once had a crush on Wolfie.

Sexuality: gay af

Cutie Mark: a sun, with a beaker residing within it.
