AKIRA au based on the biohazard fish jacket because the brainworms demanded it to exist.
If Grimmer is Kaneda in this AU I can only imagine that Roberto is Tetsuo...watching his old friend from the orphanage deteriorate into someone consumed by power
I guess Lunge would be Kei? Feels like the most likely candidate to have the power to channel psychic abilities as a medium.

Considering the frequency with which Flum Apricot is Not recognized in public, despite her fame as a member of the Hero's Party, even after saying her full name multiple times, it is not a stretch to compare her unique celebrity status to that of famous skateboarder Tony Hawk

Born For This by The Score - in Mando'a
Ahaha, here's another one.
Technically, this is the one I started first, but let me tell you, trying to fit Mando'a into the verses of this song? Absolute Hell. It took me forever, and I'm still not 100% pleased with it, tbh.
I'll try to put together a little glossary of made up words for this one, but I genuinely can't remember all of them. I did most of the work on the chorus-y bits… uh… a year ago? Give or take a couple of months.
But here, at fucking last, is the song:
Rugot* Par'bic (Born For This)
Aalar ner brok* (Feeling my pulse) Gaanader kyrbej (Picking the battlefield) Slanar akaan tugyc (Going to war again)
Aalar kaab o'r (Feeling the sound inside) Ner haalas meg (My chest that is) An ni lini (All I need)
Kar'mir… ni rugot par'bic (Knowing… I was born for this) Kar'mir… ni rugot par'bic (Knowing… I was born for this)
Atiniir grat* (Enduring the punishment) Ner jorad kotyc (My voice is strong) Nu lise kyrdir jii (I can't stop now)
Val nu suvari (They don't understand) Ni ven nu kyrdi (I won't stop) Kay ni parji (Until I win)
Kar'mir… ni rugot par'bic (Knowing… I was born for this) Kar'mir… ni rugot par'bic (Knowing… I was born for this)
K'urmankala (Believe) Mhi lise gotal ruyot (We can make history) K'urmankala (Believe) Mhi lise mandokar (We can be mandokar)
Mhi verde meg (We are warriors who) Hibira 'muur aaray (Learn to enjoy the pain) Mhi teh birov traate (We're from many teams) A'mhi solus droten (But we are one people)
Jorc'mhi- (Cause we-) Jorc'mhi- (Cause we-) Jorc'mhi- (Cause we-) Jorc'mhi rugot par'bic (Cause we were born for this) Mhi rugot par'bic (We were born for this)
Mhi shukla adate (We are broken people) Meg nau'u tracyn (Who light up a fire) Haa'tayl tracyn a'den (To see the fire rage) Cuun runise draar pel (Our souls will never be softened)
Jorc'mhi- (Cause we-) Jorc'mhi- (Cause we-) Jorc'mhi- (Cause we-) Jorc'mhi rugot par'bic (Cause we were born for this) Mhi rugot par'bic (We were born for this)
Par simire (For years) Adol an aaray (Through all the pain) Ni akaani dha (I fight the darkness)
Ni ven parji (I will win) Aru ner chaab (Against my fear) Ti kot be narser (With strength of will)
Kar'mir… ni rugot par'bic (Knowing… I was born for this) Kar'mir… ni rugot par'bic (Knowing… I was born for this)

A name joke
I did some work on swl names recently because I want to differentiate the nAkkanswl more. I already knew that in the third Akkanswl, where Derik and Wylie are from, it's common for people to have longer names in the native language and go by nicknames. So:
Dayirkitomopp -> Derik
Wanlihandomopp -> Wylie
where -mopp is a suffix that denotes their place in the sibling order. There are six vowels in Kamnswl writing, so people who have more than six kids sometimes skip the suffixes after that instead of making ones with diphthongs.
Similarly, it's tradition for the firstborn to have a particularly long name, made from some pool of significant syllables. The unspoken result of this is that the amount of syllables in a name tends to decrease with every child:
Sanistrezkimatolenandomapp (Snap) Kanakaeneleximipp (Lexie) Wanlihandomopp (Wylie) Dayirkitomopp (Derik)
Which means that in third at least there is a person who commonly shows up in idioms:
My seventh son,

ok i am still thinking about when i saw great comet and like the translation was pretty good (dust and ashes in particular) but one thing that still makes me go ??? is that for whatever reason that part in pierre where the ensemble sings 'he's charming he has no sex' is translated as 'so charmant! er hat kein geschlecht' which literally translates to 'so charming! he has no gender'. nonbinary pierre confirmed in the german translation i guess
