Quick question. What would happen if someone came up on one of dipper's old graves and decided to resurrect him during one of his reincarnations? Would his soul leave the current vessel and get sucked back into the old one, or would his corpse just be filled with a whole lotta nothing?

That's an excellent question!

My first impulse is to say that resurrecting Dipper's old body wouldn't have an effect. Whoever did it would end up with a zombie, or the shell of a body with nothing in it.

My second impulse is: What if Dipper did get sucked out of his current body, and popped right back into his old one? Now you've got one very confused Dipper, and one extremely distressed demon who just saw the love of his life get his soul sucked out, going limp and dead right in front of his eye!

Overall, I guess it depends on exactly what kind of resurrection was pulled off. A body alone type thing will get you no brain or soul to go with it, but if it specifically targeted the soul itself? Then you better have enough oomph behind it to yank it out of someone who's currently alive.

Not finishing this is one of my biggest heartaches of the year tbh 😭 most of my unfinished wips are bobadin related, but this was one of the very first sketches I made as I was giving in to my new and horrible life choices of getting hopelessly entangled with the mandalorian and related shows (if you couldn’t tell its age for the messiness of it, there is also the noisy brush I’d been using for sketching still back then) - I’m not sure if I will ever get back to it, since I’ve lost interest months and months ago, but this one is very dear to my heart, it’s just so soft, okay? there's a reason why we have poetry, and not just prose. there's a reason why prose has many genres, why it can be romantic, horrifying, or silly.

there's a reason why we have both television and film. and why genres of those are so varied as well. there's a reason we keep inventing new types of media to tell stories.

there's a reason why some books are turned into movies and others are turned into television. why some books achieve both. there's a reason why Batman started out in comics, then television, then films, then animated television, then video games, and why they keep making more.

there's a reason why a movie adaptation of a book is never exactly the same. why a character wears one color in one, and a different color in the other. there's a reason why the canon of stories gets "confused", because the different forms of media don't line up perfectly.

people have figured out millions of ways to tell stories, and with reboots and sequels and adaptations galore, i think we tend to assume anything that isn't a completely original creation/franchise/IP is a grab for money and attention. and maybe sometimes it is. but we have all these mediums to tell new stories and old stories, and new stories in old ways and old stories in new ways, and it's very much like our different ways of learning.

visual learners vs. hands-on vs. audio learners. we all need different input to learn, and different forms of media can teach us new things about what we like, what we love, who we are, just because it looks a little different. just because we prefer one thing over the other, doesn't mean that either one is less important, especially if someone learns something beautiful about themself or life from one of them.

i'm not sure if this makes a lot of sense, but i find it wonderful that even with recycled plot lines and clichés and too many seasons of whatever tv show, we're always trying to tell something new. always trying to learn something new. and even if nobody likes it, the creator felt compelled to make something because their thoughts were too big for their head.

human creation is wonderful, and i'm even learning to appreciate the existence of stuff that isn't really my cup of tea 💜🌈

i just don't understand how and why taylor reacted the way she did to BL like Lucy was not doing anything wrong. She was just standing there and telling Buck that Bobby was gonna be okay and then Buck said he's glad she was with him. Like nothing romantic there. The audience knows nothing is going on with BL they're just co-workers. Literally that's it, so IDK why Taylor had to go psycho and why is she ignoring the whole Eddie of it all. I just don't understand it. I feel like Lucy's a fake-out

i think we were meant to see taylor’s reaction as a little extreme or out of proportion. for one, taylor’s been known to lash out in ways that don’t necessarily fit the circumstances (the double date) when she feels threatened or embarrassed. and while there’s no rational reason for taylor to be threatened or embarrassed by lucy, when we’ve seen all season long that lucy and buck are just friendly coworkers and that the scene taylor witnessed in particular was pretty innocuous (they were talking about bobby, at work, while in full uniform, in the middle of an emergency, even with context there’s no reason for that to be a major red flag), i think it’s very indicative of where taylor is right now.

taylor is insecure in her relationship with buck, even though she said she didn’t need to know about the kiss it’s clear it’s bothered her and has planted that seed of doubt. buck and taylor have never truly trusted each other, but now there’s a clear tangible crack in whatever flimsy trust they had. and taylor is clearly not someone who trusts much at all. so for taylor? seeing buck standing next to a woman (“i kissed someone else. another woman.”) is all she needs to feel threatened. and there’s two ways i see the eddie of it all playing in here: one, taylor knows eddie’s the bigger threat but she also knows she doesn’t stand a chance against the foundation eddie and buck have built together, so she doesn’t bother, and she knows buck doesn’t even see eddie as an option; or taylor’s under the same heteronormative impression a lot of straight people are, she doesn’t understand that eddie’s a threat because he’s a guy.

but here’s the thing for taylor: her lil speech was specifically about the 118 and how they’re buck’s family. this season has spelled out quite clearly for us that taylor doesn’t have any. all taylor has is buck. that’s why she forgave the cheating and that’s why she’s clinging onto buck almost more than he’s clinging onto her, because he’s all she has. but she doesn’t include herself when she talks about the 118 (outside of that one bobby interaction and her few interactions with eddie, she hasn’t really talked to the 118 since dosed). she knows that, at the end of the day, buck is going to choose the 118 over her every time, but she can do what she can to delay that and that means mean girl threatening lucy, who very clearly does not care (“do you want a comment” legend). lucy is ultimately just the unfortunate proxy for all of buck taylor’s problems, who buck can self destruct with and who taylor can project onto.
