Okokok this is going to be very unstructured but sh

Ok so despite their name, they're not actually squid, infact they're probably closer to octopuses are in. And well, they were initially (and wrongly) classified as cirrate octopuses (like the flapjack octopus). And you can sorta see why really

So they're not squid, they're not octopuses but they are cephalopods, their own group of cephalopod of which they are the only known member. Their classification was rectified about the 1940s or 1950s. And this was in a German expedition whose purpose was to prove there was life below whatever number of metres, I can't remember how deep it was.

Anyway, they get about 30cm and live at depths around 600m-1200m (sorry idk how much that is in the imperial system). And they live in practically any the oceans in oxygen minimal zones/the oxygen minimal layer. In the OML there's very very little oxygen, like 5% oxygen or smth. That can be bc of circulation in the oceans and that water just isn't moved around as much (there's a name for those little pockets of ocean but I can't remember it). But they have blue blood that is copper based (?) and it binds oxygen really well. I don't know much about that bc I'm not much of a chemistry guy. But they also just use very little energy and have lots of surface area on their gills to absorb as much oxygen as they can.

They have remained largely unchanged for like 300 million years which is cool. In captivity they have been recorded to live for about 2 months but it's estimated they live for almost a decade in the wild.

Now they're called "the vampire squid from hell" (that's what their scientific name translates to) bc of their appearance. The red colour, the large red eyes (that are actually clear but appear blue or red in certain lighting) and the fleshy cirri (little spike things) that lines their webbing. When they are threatened they pull their webbing over their head and it makes them look scary and pointy but really the cirri is soft and squishy.

I'm gonna go back to the eyes for a second bc they are huge compared to the 'squids' body. Like pretty sure they're the biggest eyes compared to body size in any animal or smth. Really cool.

Oh and btw they do have suckers as well but only small ones on the furthest half of the arms from the body. Argh I want to talk about the arms but I want to finish talking about defence mechanisms first. ILL GET BACK TO THE ARMS!!

Ok so they have really weak muscles so their ass is not going anywhere fast, which is a problem when things are trying to eat you (things like sharks, larger cephalopods, fish, and even some diving whales). Their top speed is like 2 body lengths per second. So apart from the spines, they also have some bioluminesence up their sleeves. They have two large light organs on top of their head that kinda look like eyes and one on each end of their arm. So when they pull up their webbing around them and you look at them from the 'top' BAM suddenly you've got lots of scary eyes looking at you. Also they don't squirt ink but do squirt a sticky bioluminesent goo that either distracts the predator, or sticks to the predator so and even bigger predator comes along and eats them. I think this goo can stay glowing for about 10 minutes? I'm not sure. Im pretty sure that this is symbiotic bioluminescene tho, which is where the animal cultivates glowing bacteria to use rather that mixing all the chemicals for bioluminecense in their body themselves.

Ok ok ok arms and 'tentacles'. So they have 8 arms yeah but no tentacles. Instead they have two looonnngggg filaments that they store in little pockets in their body

You can see one there. These are like 8 times their body length and they connect directly to the 'squids' brain.

FOOD!! Unlike pretty much every other cephalopod ever, they are detrivores, which means they eat essentially garbage. Rotting organic matter known as marine snow and literal shit. They way they eat this is they catch the detritus with sticky cells on their filaments and use mucus to make it into something more easy to pass into their beak.

We don't know a whole lot about their breeding and stuff but the males pass a sperm packet to the female for storage so she can fertilise her eggs when she likes. When the babies hatch they are very teeny and don't have their webbing yet. The parents don't tend to their children at all and until they can feed themselves, they eat their egg sacs. They grow pretty slow bc there's not many nutrients and stuff available for them in the deep.

A cool thing about the babies is that when they hatch, they have one pair of swimming fins, then as they grow they develop a second pair, and then eventually they loose (its absorbed into their body, cant waste it) the first pair and just have their second pair. Sorta like we have adult and baby teeth

Another thing that sets them apart from other cephalopods is that they reproduce multiple (up to 20) times in their life, until they die. Other cephalopods usually die after the first time. This makes them iteraparous, while other cephalopods are semelparous.

Ok almost done I promise. A few more things:

-adults use their fins to swim while juveniles use propulsion

-the ICUN has not evaluated them

-they have very good balancing organs like the ones in our ears

-they can not change colour like other cephalopods bc their cromataphores are underdeveloped

THATS PRETTY MUCH ALL I KNOW SO FAR ABOUT THEM!! When I research, I like to try to exhaust every single reliable site with information about them and write it down so I dont think I missed anything too important when I first was researching them :)

Wait wait, for real? You actually WANNA hear me go wild over my blorbo?? For serious?????????????????

But yeah, ok, sure, some Rinz hc! YEAH, let's do this!! I'll start with some serious ones & then go fluffy, cuz why not? :P I'll only drop a few items here so I don't bore you tho lol. & I'll keep my oc Flint out of it as best I can, it's just time to prattle on about Rinz for now!

Now... FOR SERIOUS:

As a part of his fun adventure in being rectified, Tron was never afraid to talk back or verbally lash out at Clu & his old, fallen comrades. After some very choice comments were made tho, Clu felt Tron went TOO far & so he took delight in personally mangling Rinzler's vocal synth capabilities. It's not that he can't talk... it just really REALLY fucking hurts to speak, which is why it sounds all staticky & distorted too...

Rinz also hates his face. Seeing his own appearance makes him physically ill. It has to be something with remembering bits & pieces of who he was before he awoke as Rinzler... but he has no idea why. Otherwise, his helmet is almost always engaged, keeping himself & others from seeing the disturbing creature he's hiding inside.

Rinzler is naturally competitive thanks to his start as Tron & he truly enjoys participating in the games. But whatever savage monstrous thing that kept Tron surviving in the MCP's reign took over in full as Rinzler. He doesn't necessarily enjoy ending the games through derezzing... but some vicious, horrible part of him craves the bloodbath. He doesn't care about the audience cheers or Clu's praise. Destroying others, watching those who oppose him crumble into voxels at his hands... it's purely addicting to him. The more Rinz feeds the beast, the more Clu throws him into battles, the more Rinzler needs to derezz & kill or risk turning into some sort of nightmare that won't stop until the entire Grid is reduced to rubble.

Now then, FOR FUN:

Part of Clu's rectifying of Tron also wound up giving Rinzler fangs & brutal glowing claws. It wasn't intentional, but makes the masked program that much more threatening, so Clu left it be lol.

LIKEWISE, Clu also found it as a special chance to try & take away some other minorly threatening aspects of Tron. From reducing Rinz's height to attempting - key word here is that he "tried" - to minimize Tron's absurd strength [if anything, this one totally backfired on Clu lol], which turned Rinzler into a fiesty small chihuahua of a program then xD

Despite hating his own appearance, he is a pathetic lovesick fool & if another he cares about manages to get him to lower his guard, he'll shamefully reveal his own face, just as long as you'll exchange his misery for kisses & all lol. He is a sucker for being fawned over lmaooo

Since the Grid isn't really big on food besides basic energy items, flavors are not something Rinz ever cared about. After getting to try some user foods, he found himself utterly obsessed with sour skittles & really spicy hot ramen noodles. He needs his user food on EXTREMES & flavorless blandness is all he ever knew until being introduced to the wide world of reality in the year 2000 lol.

Rinz doesn't really feel like he belongs in the Grid, but the user world is overwhelming, loud, bright & too much. Being stuck in his state as a not-Tron Tron, he feels like he's sort of in limbo, poor guy...

Rinzler also carries doubles of near everything on his person at all times. He's so used to having Clu's resources at hand that he never hesitates to use everything & every weapon in his arsenal, even if it means destroying his lightcycle just to get ahead. When he abandons Clu's regime, he realizes VERY quickly the batons don't just grow on trees & he has to be more mindful of that lol.

Oh & as he is a program of very few words, he's also one of very few items of ownership too. But as Rinz breaks out of Clu's control, he starts collecting all sorts of things, slowly making his small personal living quarters filled with tchotkes & momentos of his adventures too♡

& finally, since coming from the Grid, when Rinz is introduced to normal clothing irl, he finds he either has to have near skintight layers underneath whatever he's wearing to replicate the feeling of his exosuit, or wear things so baggy & loose that it's almost falling off of him lmaooo

you said you were looking for asks so i thought i'd jump in with: 3 (or 5, whichever you'd prefer) favourite comics ever? if you're feeling fancy, two lists, one in terms of quality of the actual comic, and one in terms of character moments etc

Ok so i'll make a list of my top 10 and say why (i'm also not exclusively doing DC comics but they are the majority):

Batgirl (2000): do i even have to explain this one? the art and visual storytelling makes me ill, the way it explores cass's character through her relationship with established characters like bruce and babs, the way cass is so fucking unhinged, the mother-daughter comparisons with shiva&babs vs the father-daughter comparisons between cain&bruce AASSFHFKSDF. ILL.

The New Teen Titans: this one holds a lot of nostalgia for me because it was one of the first comics I read! They were the first team i really latched onto and by extension the first characters i really felt strongly about. Rereading it as an adult and seeing how it still holds up is soooo incredibly satisfying (dickkory was baby's first otp)

Spinning by Tillie Walden: technically cheating because this is a graphic novel but I'm counting it because it's included under the umbrella of sequential art. it's a autobiographical graphic novel about tillie walden's experience growing up a lesbian in the south (of the US) through their relationship with figure skating. i really relate to it and it's a massive inspiration for me and i think everyone should read it

Impulse (1995): ...i'm audhd...it hits a very special and specific place in my heart...but in all seriousness i love the shape language and the character dynamics. god the cast is soooo fun

Robin & Batman: i love introspection and this whole comic is just Dick Grayson introspection. The way it covers Dick's emotional state post his parents death and how Bruce didn't really know how to help Dick outside of guiding him in channeling his grief into being a vigilante makes me insane...also the alfred characterization in this...the implication that he thinks he made the wrong choice by enabling Bruce and wanting to rectify that by not enabling Dick...

Spider-Gwen (2015): The art and concept is what drew me into this comic. I've been a spiderman fan since I was a little kid and the idea of gwen stacy being the spider person...AND SHE WAS A DANCER.. i was hooked. I love gwen as a character on a meta level and in general; she's my girl

Convergence Batgirl: listen...the implications this comic has about steph and cass's relationship...the "what do my eye's say" scene...lovers. teeny tiny baby run but im still counting it as a comic

...Is it cheating to say Young Justice 98? Imma say Young Justice 98: it was a gateway to me finding a bunch of characters that are now my faves. It shines a spotlight on characters we don't see all that often (like Cissie, Cassie, Anita--girl i miss you) I think about this comic constantly

Tea Dragon Society: another graphic novel! this is a comfort read for me! it's cozy it's sapphic it's a low-stakes

Batman/Huntress Cry for Blood: again this feels like kind of cheating BUT its my list so this is what I'm going with. This was my introduction to Helena and omg the feelings i have about her because of this comic...she makes me bonkers...the things i'd do for this woman

Bonus: JLI (i have not ever finished this one but i've started it many times and i love it i just need to actually finish it)

So um I'm trying to make lore for Ang'el (my OC) and possibly some of Dina's (my gf's OC) too haha so I made one chapter (warning: cliffhanger ahead)

"Angel! Go clean the dishes then help you brother with his upcoming Vlozert exam!" Mother shouted from her bedroom before slamming the door.

Ang'el had just woken up from her twenty-four hour sleep. The only reason she had slept for so long was because she had been busy with her vice president angel duties at her so-called 'job', the Angel Community, in a floating country in the sky– Heaven. You may think, 'Wow, a Vice-president angel? How lucky?' Wrong. You have to work SUPER long hours, and Ang'el is really tired of always being the nice girl. This year, she is fifteen years old. It is well known that human teenagers rebel a lot, but there has never been a time in Heaven where an actual angel had rebelled against the community.

"Sissy, please help me!!" Aris, Ang'el's little brother, pleaded as he pouted.

"Okay, fine. But help me wash the dishes." Ang'el groaned.

After they finished washing the dishes, Ang'el assisted Aris in revising for his Vlozert assessment. There isn't much to say here, really.

After they completed rectifying for the examination, Ang'el was called by her accomplice, Lysia, who is also formally known as the president of the Angel Community.

"Ang'el, have you heard?"

"Heard what?"

"Duh, the Angelic Leaders? They're sending out a few Angels to Hell tomorrow. Do you even read the news?"

"No. But, the Devil is okay with this?"

"Yeah. Odd, isn't it?"

"Sure is. Thanks for the information, gal." the gossiped on.

Ang'el was in doubt. This was close to impossible, since Heaven and Hell had never been on good terms. Then, she got a message on her Angel Mobile* by the Angelic Leaders that she had been chosen as a candidate to go to Hell. Wow, how great!

*the Angel Mobile is a Mobile Phone but in Heaven.

A day later, as Ang'el got ready her personal belongings to go to Hell, her older brother, Linson, patted her on her shoulder.

"Hey. Don't be so tense. I know Hell sounds like a horrible place, but it won't be so bad. Trust me. I've been there before. Well, just don't be so stressed out, okay? I worry for you." Linson advised Ang'el, with a worried look.

"Hah, you're the one who looks tense." Ang'el teased.

"W-What? No I don't!!! I'm just worried, that's all!!" Linson stuttered.

Ang'el giggled as she walked away. Linson watched her walk away, worried as usual.

Ang'el and some other angels were in line to the portal of Hell. Ang'el wasn't too happy, but she wasn't too sad either. Then, one of the Angelic Leaders put a spell on her. She walked into the portal, but her vision started to blank out.

The next thing you know, she was already in Hell. It wasn't what she thought how it would look, though. It was more... Peaceful and deserted.

Chapter 1 completed.

Erm achually I have been meaning to post abt my ocs, so here’s a post abt probably the most important of MY OCS (Gadget is in oc purgatory because at this point my Gadget interp is just an oc in a skin suit), Hans

the rest is gonna be under the cut but this post goes out to @infififi stay silly out there soldiers

Erm (I need to stop starting trains of thought like that) ok Hans is Infinite’s older brother in my universe, he’s well into his adult years (late 20s) while infinite is 16-17 in my universe, not very stand out in appearance, unless you count his beautiful highlighter green eyes /j

The real meat and potatoes comes with the lore: “uhm so I may have made Infinite and Hans a parallel for Shadow and Maria sorry” -me

What that means is I gave my man The Illness and he is going through it. In my universe, they’re kinda like Shadow and Maria if Shadow died and Maria lived 😐 not my fault sorry (absolutely my fault and not sorry at all). 

During childhood, Hans and Infinite’s were very much alone, especially considering their parents were fucking dead, both dying shortly before and after Infinite’s birth (horrific circumstances, bros unlucky as hell 💀<— Hans and Infinite’s parents emoji). Hans and Infinite however did manage to work past it, Hans getting a medical degree, becoming a doctor, and Infinite forming a group of friends (JACKAL SQUAD REFERENCE!)

A few years into their happy lives, Hans’ condition medically worsened over time, not knowing it was a terminal condition, he brushed it off until he literally could not. Both brothers tried to remain positive, but with Hans being out of a job due to his. everything. and money running short, Infinite’s friend group quickly becomes Infinite’s mercenary squad (JACKAL SQUAD IS FINALLY REAL!)

Shortly before the events of episode Shadow, Infinite and Hans speak for the last time. It’s not even very important, it’s a completely normal meeting, Infinite having expected to be back by the morning. He gives Hans his medicine, makes some food to put in the fridge and goes off on his latest mission. Obviously, we know how that turns out. I’ll spare the details.

After the events of forces, Infinite sorta dies (it’s hard to explain, for the sake of simplicity he’s just dead but he gets better) leaving Hans completely alone for a long while. He almost dies on his own, stressing over not only his brother being “missing” (he has no idea about the events of forces rn) but his own mortality.

But because of some Shadow Black Arms dna bullshit I can explain later and Sonic’s regular “communing with the dead” sessions, Shadow takes it upon himself to rectify the pain he’s caused by at least helping this one person. 

Imagine his surprise when he meets basically Maria the Jackal because I LOVE me some parallels! Shadow has a “BY JOVE THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING” moment while Hans is like “excuse me what the fuck are you doing in my house”. Shadow briefs Hans on what’s happened over the last 7 months and Hans has his very own “BY JOVE THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING” moment

Why Do People Think Comics!Zuko Is Becoming Ozai 2.0

A common criticism of the ATLA comics is the fact that several characters, like Aang and Mai, think that Zuko is behaving like, or is on the road to becoming, his old man. 

For yes, it is true that Zuko makes lots of mistakes in the comics, mistakes like failing to talk to Kuei and Aang before unilaterally ending support for the Harmony Restoration Movement, thus almost restarting the Hundred Year War, or failing to ask Mai and Ty Lee how they felt about him releasing Azula from the asylum into his custody. Not to mention all the mistakes he made in the TV show like siding with Azula in Ba Sing Se or hiring Combustion Man to kill the Gaang.

But is it not equally true that Zuko was not only instrumental in taking down Ozai’s regime, but also enabled, albeit indirectly, Mai and Ty Lee to escape their toxic/abusive friendship with Azula? 

Did they not spend quality time with him and learn that, beneath the social awkwardness, anger, and hot-headedness, he is someone who wants to do the right thing, is willing to admit his mistakes, and is willing to rectify the harms he caused to the best of his abilities, even when he thinks there is no forgiveness or reward in store?

So why are his friends and allies so quick to label him Ozai 2.0 instead of trying to give him support and help him work through his problems, especially when they know he has the mountential task of reforming the Fire Nation essentially by himself, and especially when they know he is the only viable long-term claimant to the throne who is on their side?

Well, despite the comics never clearly stating the reason, I think the answer is quite obvious once you take into account what his nuclear family members are like, or more specifically, their mental states. This is because with Azula's fall to madness plus Ozai's mad plan to burn the Earth Kingdom becoming public knowledge, people know that mental illness runs in his bloodline, and so they fear that he too may fall into madness.

Hence why everyone keeps saying he is turning into Ozai, even though Zuko's actions are driven by a mix of selfishness, naivety, inexperience, and stress, and not the over the top sadistic maliciousness and ambitiousness that drove Ozai.

“Ok, that makes sense. But how come then they don’t insist on taking measures or offer him resources to help him stay clear of that path to begin with? For yeah they know that Zuko is susceptible to mental illness, but did they not see him fight against his upbringing, indoctrination, and abuse to do the right thing with no expectation he would get anything out of it other than a clear conscience?”

“So why don’t they help him establish a healthy support system instead of, for example, agreeing to end his life when it seems like he is going off the deep end?”

While I agree a hundred percent with the above opinion, the problem is four fold in my opinion. First, they aren't always going to be there for him most of the time due to living in other parts of the world, or in Mai’s case, wanting to spend time away from him and pressures associated with royal life. 

Second, he isn't just their friend, or (potential) lover in Mai’s case, but also the Fire Lord. So matter how hard they try, they won't always be successful at separating Zuko, their hot-headed, socially awkward friend/lover who risked life and limb to help end the war, from Zuko, Fire Lord of the reforming Fire Nation, and someone who has intimate ties to the old regime.

Third, apparently Aang's era lacked knowledge in regards to mental health. For even though "Nightmares and Daydreams" suggested otherwise, they have no concept of therapy. In fact, the Fire Nation's idea of mental health services are asylums that share more in common with torture-like 19th Century western asylums than our modern conception of therapy considering the usage of straightjackets.

(Even though they really had no other real way to restraint Azula, or the other Fire Warriors, that would not be equally tortious, if not worse, as long as she kept her bending, it does not change the fact that using a straightjacket on someone is torture.) 

Finally, the Gaang, despite their feats and power, are all teenagers who are still growing up and dealing with their own issues and trauma. So I don't think it is fair to expect them to be the emotional support system that Zuko, who is the oldest one in their peer group outside of Sokka, needs. Especially when the older and wiser Iroh struggled to support Zuko.

“Ok, so the Gaang can’t take an active role in ensuring that Zuko does succumb to his inner darkness. Nor should they since they are too young and ill-qualified to play such a role in his life. But why do they treat Zuko at times like an irrational actor, or fail to treat him like one of their most important political allies?”

“For example, why did Aang agree to The Promise when anyone with any common sense would know Zuko was speaking out of fear? How come no one ever checked up on him outside of diplomatic meetings in the year between the start of The Promise and the start of the Yu Dao Crisis? How come Aang was so quick to kill Zuko the moment it seemed like Zuko was starting to slip?”

“If Zuko expects Aang to be able to drop everything to murder him, is he wrong to also expect Aang to drop everything to have honest conversations with him before he becomes an Ozai-tier monster?”

Well, my response is that friendship is a two-way street. Moreover, Zuko is a ruler and a legal adult, so it is not too much to expect him to not fall apart just because he does not have his friends by his side all the time. 

So just like the Gaang were being bad friends and politicians by indulging in his fears and letting him languish until he became liable to go to Ozai for advice and actual use it, Zuko was a bad friend and ruler, not to mention arguably a manchild, for letting it get to that point.

For Zuko should have never asked Aang, his best friend and someone with a no kill rule for deeply held religious and cultural reasons, to kill him if he ever started to slip.

Zuko, despite having Mai, and later the Kyoshi Warriors, by his side, decides to secretly seek advice from Ozai.

Zuko is the one who unilaterally ended the Harmony Restoration Movement and assaulted Katara when Katara and Aang tried to ask him why he suddenly changed course.

Zuko, despite getting shown mercy by Aang and convincing Aang that it was right to stop the Harmony Restoration Movement in regards to the oldest colonies, thinks that it is wise to have Aang set up a conference with Kuei to discuss the change in plans instead of making a beeline to the Earth Kingdom Royal Palace.

In fact, Zuko decides to go to Ozai for more advice and decides to bring an army to Yu Dao knowing damn well it is liable to restart the Hundred Year War, and only gets bailed out by Aang coming with the radical (in ATLA) solution of self-determination in the nick of time.

But to conclude since I I think I have rambled on long enough, the reason why people think comics!Zuko is becoming Ozai 2.0 because they know madness runs in his nuclear family, and so that, combined with their era’s limited knowledge on mental health, causes them to think that Zuko is one bad day from succumbing to his inner darkness. 

Especially since they are too young, busy, and ill-equipped to serve as the support unit Zuko needs as he attempts to reform the Fire Nation, and Zuko himself has not done the best job of avoiding situations where he is liable to succumb to his inner darkness.

So is there anything anyone can do to help him?

Well, outside of the Gaang checking up on Zuko more frequently, Zuko needs to continue working on himself, and in the process come up with healthy coping mechanisms both in his professional and personal life, so he can not only become the ruler the Fire Nation and the world needs, but also the healthy, happy, and (relatively) well-adjusted person he wants to be as well.

i guess i want a little advice or clarity. is it wrong that things are actually going ok in my family right now, like relationships are pretty quiet and the assholes of the family are being mostly quiet and its not bad at all and i still don't like it at all? like i'm still upset no one's apologized for anything that's happened (like ppl excessively bullying me, or yelling at me until im in tears, or picking on my sister even when she's clearly saying her feelings are being hurt and shit) and that no one's actually changed, they're just being kinda quiet rn.

i know i should be grateful bc things are good right now, in the grand scheme of things. things aren't as stressful as usual. but we go through cycles like this over the years, where things are "ok" and then everything goes bad and i know it's not gonna last so i can't even ENJOY it bc i'm still pissed over what happened before (mostly bc i'm used to it happening to me but it went so far this time and i'm not used to my little sibling being brought into it! and im so pissed she was! and i don't think ill even forgive them for picking on her.) and i'm tense bc i know shit is still going to happen once the "ok" cycle ends. is that wrong? that im still angry, that i don't like it even though its "ok" rn, that im not letting it go? like, it's not like i'm getting physically hurt or something, it's just, picking and bullying and like. yelling. not hitting or something. but it still sucks and i just can't get it out of my head.

It makes perfect sense to be frustrated and tense when you start to recognize the cycle of abuse, and knowing that good moments will happen right before bad moments. It sounds like there's a temporary calm, but you're still carrying the weight of past experiences and unresolved issues.

You mentioned that no one has apologized for the past incidents of bullying, yelling, and mistreatment, and that no real changes have taken place. It's understandable to feel upset and frustrated when there's no accountability or genuine effort to address and rectify the hurtful behavior. Just because things are quieter at the moment doesn't erase the impact of those negative experiences or the valid emotions associated with them.

The fact that you're anticipating the cycle of things going bad again shows that you have a realistic understanding of the patterns within your family dynamics. It's not wrong to be on guard or to have reservations about fully embracing the temporary calm. Your experiences have shaped your perspective, and it's natural to be cautious given the history of recurring issues.

I think it's important to remember that comparing yourself to others you feel have gone through worse doesn't help you process or heal from your own experiences. Additionally, verbal and emotional abuse can be just as damaging if not more so than physical abuse. Even though emotional abuse doesn't necessarily leave a physical mark, it still matters and can still be severe.

- she decides on a lie with him, he pays off a lesser known family to claim the child as their late son’s, they swear he had every intention of maeve marrying before he fell ill and passed. maeve puts on a sorrow act for a man she never knew, and grieves the loss of the man she thought she did. she avoids her father’s eyes in the halls and at dinners. 

- emmon is born and maeve feels nothing but immense love and tenderness for him, he may look like his father but to her, he is perfect and as he grows she begins to see that he has his grandmother’s smile, it warms her.

haha wow doin stuff with Tavi really took like two hours huh. is she training me to finally get my sleep schedule back on track???

ok ok i probably got like an hour before she calls me back so I gotta get as much writing done in my diary as I can before... oh god.

I, Vinyl Scratch, am not turning into a nerd, am I?

no. no im not. no im just writing in my about what I'm doing because Tavi gave me the advice and I like it and it helps me realize more what im doing.

Ok ill write about the days that led up to me being in Canterlot, in Octavia's old bedroom (or in her bathroom right now), rebelling against her parents in the best! way!! POSSIBLE!!!!!!!

22th: i slept all day through this one bc even though a ton of the ponies from Pinkie's party left before 2 am like a buncha normies, and despite everything that can be going wrong and lame be happening doing, Pinkie, Berry, and a cool new mare I met called Derpy raved quite successfully with me until Berry's filly and Derpy's foals hadda go to school and we decided to just end the party. i woulda liked to have a party go on from night till noon though...

though considering the fact that I only barely woke up in time for me and Tavi to make our train to Canterlot, maybe it was for the best. not how i wanted to spend Luna's glorious night, packing feverishly so i could get on a train to get closer to the Jealous Sun, but it was inevitable.

tbh dont tell Tavi but I totally forgot that we were even going to Canterlot and meeting up with Lyra and Bon Bon. train ride was fine, but strangely (not in a bad way) Tavi was a lot more affectionate, which was weird at the time but makes a lot more sense what with what was gonna happen later on.

23th: we finally met Lyra and Bon Bon in Canterlot. feel pretty bad for Lyra, gottin to have to go back and forth and back and forth between Ponyville and Canterlot and tons of other places just to do her concerts or whatever. I guess I can relate since Tavi usually has to go to Canterlot a ton. while Im stuck in ponyville. gets lonely a lot. luckily we both somehow get the energy to send letters to each other every day were apart, but i live in fear of a day when that might stop. i mean, are we fillyfriends because of some temporary physical attraction or because of who we are?

anyway we were goin around out. I was chattin with Bon Bon bout liquor candies. I told her id hook her up with a nice mare if she'd attempt to make some. (Spoiler alert: she and nope im not going to spoil it, I'll just talk about it on the 24th day section). I noticed that Tavi and Lyra weren't talkin much and were acting all aloof and uptight and not at all affectionate and like the snooty Canterlotians but I chalked it up to them being natives.

that was until Bon Bon saw my face and told me that theres like....... a whole thing in Canterlot about being a fillyfooler. Apparently they still think that Celestia only wants couples of one mare and one stallion, for making more foals for her glory or something. well what the buck does that make me then???????????? what's so wrong about me being with Octavia, and then adopting a couple dozen fillies that need the love and attention instead of making some that didnt ask to be made?????? whatever. more proof that Luna is based and C celestia is cringe.

Also apparently Bon Bon didnt know that Lyra was a fillyfooler, which was something I was going to soon rectify. we had donuts at Donut Joe's yknow and then we went to a few fancy bistros for their bars. I got Lyra drunk enough to tell me that old story that she was only able to get into her place on the orchestra because she 'befriended' the mom of the old conductor Allegro Accelerando and threatened to become his second mom if he didnt put her on. Bon Bon was real impressed with all the graphic detail and I was laughing my flank off at both Lyra's funny as buck story and Bon Bon's honest reaction but Octavia was mortified that someone might overhear us and throw us out, not to mention our reputations and careers.

Well not that us Ponyville mares had anything to be afraid of but in the interest of making Tavi feel comfortable I felt that I should take Tavi back to her hotel room while stealthily suggesting Lyra's drunk flank take Bon Bon to her own >:)

but when we got to the room Octavia broke down in tears. it was frankly disturbing for myy marefriend who didnt even cry that much when i was in danger of being overdose on cocaine. shes just... usually so calm and reserved.

i asked what was wrong but she just told me to love her and keep loving her, she begged me to keep loving her and being with her for all time, but most of all, she begged me to never stop being me. So i just hugged her and put her on the couchbed andtold her that she needs some of the Berry Punch/Pinkie Pie Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster to giver her some rest and she just laughed and shook her head goodnaturedly and it looks like that calmed her down. the weed brownie i also got her to eat probably helped too

i was really concerned for her and i didnt really know what to do. i remember having a lot of trouble with why she was so sad, since it seemed to be something more than just the dislike of fillyfoolers in Canterlot. of course, i know now that it was because we had to meet her parents the next day.

24th: yeah so we woke up pretty early in the day (noon) and we had a couple hours before the necessary dinner date with Tavi's parents that she finally told me about and I convicned her to take me with her. We were gonna hang out with Lyra and Bon Bon more since the 23thrd was a blast and tons of fun but unfortuantely they were a little preoccupied at the moment.

Lyra was having some trouble with her record player in her room (;<

and Bon Bon was having to make some liquor candies for me >:)

so we just went to a Barns & Nobles a little bit and then hung out at a ma and pa book store/coffee place for a few hours. Octavia seemed much better, much less uptight and even willing to hug me in public. I still could read her like one of the books and I knew she was conflicted about something but I wanted to give her some time to get through it. well imagine my surprise when she leans over and kisses me right in front of a passing old mare!!!!!!! an old mare who blushed and ran away from the two of us.

I was immediately freaking out since she coudl like lose her job right?? but she puts a comforting hoof on my shoulder and says somethign that I cant remember at the moment because sweet loving Luna did I go to sleep at a horrible time last night (8. BUCKING. P.M.) But it was probably something about not wanting to hide who we are, especially to her parents.

Then we met her parents.

25th: lol haha today (or I guess last night?????????) was a blast. we just basically, y'know went on a sUPER CUTE FILLYFOOLER DOUBLE DATE AND GJKASVJSLKFJDC

People will say Scott has "abusive tendencies" then turn around and admit to jumping for joy when Stiles body slammed a wounded Scott, laughing when he pelted Scott with lacrosse balls under the guise of helping him in punishment over Sheriff throwing himself in front of a car because Scott saved Allison from being hit by a car that was barreling toward her, justify Stiles dehumanizing Scott and treating him like a literal dog using what might very well have been Roxy (Scott's dead dog)'s water bowl because Scott got kissed by Lydia, forget about the time Stiles got Scott jumped by older boys again because Sheriff fell over onto a car while Scott was in the same general vicinity and of course ignore that he has mocked Scott's sports dreams because he had asthma, Isaac's child abuse, and Liam's mental illness.

That being said I also hate that scene in season 3a and I wish it never happened and have trouble rectifying it with the character of Scott McCall as well as the fact Melissa is portrayed to be like... ok with it? Despite being a nurse and basically treating Isaac as a foster son. The scene is just badly written and OOC all around (except Isaac who you could argue would absolutely expect to be physically punished and would be insistent that it happen because he was so used to it) and I hate that it's part of the show forever.
