Heard “Something Just Like This”on the radio
And sadly my brain refuses to leave me alone until I post this so sadly you guys are forced to scroll by this...
:edited because I was finally able to add a read more:
*Warning for Negapad script to song lyrics, it’s not even a story lol*
**************
I’ve been reading books of old
*Launchpad with a bunch of comic books*
The legends and the myths
Achilles and his gold
Hercules and his gifts
Spiderman’s control
And Batman with his fists
And clearly I don’t see myself upon that list
Launchpad: Shrugs, eh, I’m a normal enough kind of guy. I’m more sidekick to be honest, you know?
*NegaDuck appears and grins at Launchpad*
But she said, where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
*Launchpad giving Negs a dubious look as the smaller duck is encouraging him to do things that aren’t exactly heroic*
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
*Because Launchpad doesn’t specifically look for Superheroes and Those Society feels are special, everyone has something that makes them unique and wonderful and Launchpad would be happy calling everyone friend*
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
*Launchpad blushes when touching hands with Jim*
Just something I can turn to
*Launchpad sees Jim looking depressed and holds out his hand*
Somebody I can kiss
I want something just like this
*Launchpad and Jim talk out the issues the episode left off with*
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
Jim attends therapy with Launchpad where they discuss his issues with a trained professional.
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
*It’s Jim’s turn*
I want something just like this
*Jim is staring at Launchpad*
I’ve been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
The testaments they told
He’s been talking with therapists and looking into morality and what he was missing that led to his original fall and how to never make that mistake again.
The moon and its eclipse
*appearance of himself as both Negaduck and Darkwing duck*
And Superman unrolls
A suit before he lifts
But I’m not the kind of person that it fits
Wearing the mantle of hero isn’t quite his forte. He has a massive ego and could never be as selfless as superman. He’s was never as popular as Supes either.
She said, where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
Launchpad is trying to get him to think beyond the situation. How far will he go to get what he wants.
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Launchpad is telling him how Darkwing Duck is beyond the suit. Its the person inside it that really counts.
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Jim is watching him talk and feeling inspired by him.
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can miss
Jim is a very lonely man. Being a washed up star has not left him with many friends.
I want something just like this
I want something just like this
I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
The two are Dancing.
Where’d you wanna go?
Launchpad talking to Jim. They don’t have to stay in their roles as villain and sidekick they can be whatever they want to be.
How much you wanna risk?
Jim talking to Launchpad. Are you sure you want to be tied with someone like me?
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Launchpad wants to be with him and thinks the two will be happy together.
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Jim asks him if he’s sure he wouldn’t rather be with someone more positive and upbeat, someone who embodies the role of hero far better than he does.
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can kiss
I want something just like this
He’s confirms that he’s sure he wants Jim Starling as a partner.
Oh, I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this
Both are getting closer, singing together before embracing.
