3. What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

Oo, excellent question!

Of course Midnights is my baby and always will be, but I will admit, "Fall Where They May" is probably the piece I'm the most proud of. It wasn't originally supposed to happen, and it deals with a topic I'm very passionate about, so I'm so happy it was so well received by so many people. Plus, it was the first OFFICIAL fanfic I ever published (we don't talk about that one Twilight fic I wrote in the 12th grade), and it will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.

11. Do you have specific playlists for writing fics?

Normally, if I'm going to do some serious writing, I'll pop on one of Dan Gibson's Solitudes albums. My go-tos are "Canoe Country," "Forest Cello," and "Rocky Mountain Retreat."

But as for inspiration? I have my "I Love It" playlist that is literally EVERY single song I can think of that I love. Everything from Disciple to REO Speedwagon to Papa Roach to The Eastpointers is on that list. It's about as eclectic as it gets.

i have a few things, but one of my most favorites is a cross-stitch my grandmother made for me back in 2015 for my birthday! it's of a gold butterfly, and i have it hanging up in my room. my grandmother used to cross-stitch a LOT when i was growing up, and we have gifts from her all over the house, it was kind her main gift to everyone in my family for birthdays/holidays/special occasions. she's not able to do it as much anymore due to health reasons, so the ones that i have are very special to me.

Seems like a no risk move for Benintendi. He’s basically a rental so it didn’t seem like they gave up too prospects. He’s played in the American League east before in a pennant race, so pressures not gonna get to him. And let’s be honest, replacing Joey Gallo? The bar isn’t set to high! 😶😂😂 it’s just emerging via all the reputable baseball sources that the Padres are deep in discussions to acquire Soto. Wow, wonder what that trade package would look like?! 🤔 What a blockbuster it would be if they swapped Soto for Tatis Jr!!! 🤯 Nationals could get 13 years of service time, while SD could use his money to sign Soto to Record extension! It will never happen! Lol! I think Josh Bell would be a good fit for you guys. Switch hitter with power, who serves as cover in lineup if Brantley doesn’t come back and 1st base if Gurriel continues to struggle. Could see a couple good fits for you guys. Brian Reynolds to play CF. Maybe Contreras to boost offensive production at Catcher, DH and play 1st when not catching. Your pens pretty good, especially if Javier moves back for postseason, but could always add an arm there. Maybe Gregory Soto from Detroit to pitch the 8th. Yanks Avoid Sweep and Being No-Hit, Win Via Walk-Off

NYY vs. MIL

Game 1

RHP Luis Severino got the nod for the New York Yankees against RHP Colin Rea and the Milwaukee Brewers.

The scoring started in the bottom of the third inning with CF Jasson Domínguez hitting a two-run home run off Rea.

DH Aaron Judge and The Martian himself scored, giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead against the Brewers.

In the top of the fourth inning, SS Willy Adames hit a two-run home run off Severino, tying the score at 2-2.

In the top of the fifth inning, Severino would exit the game in significant pain after just pitching four-plus innings. 

After being placed on the injured list the next day, it would be revealed during the last game of this series that Severino suffered a high-grade left oblique strain in that game one start.

Fast forward to the top of the seventh inning, C William Contreras hit an RBI single off reliever Jonathan Loáisiga, scoring 3B Andruw Monasterio.

The Brewers led 3-2.

Later in that inning, 1B Carlos Santana hit an RBI single off Loáisiga, scoring Contreras. The Brewers extended their lead to 4-2.

Next, Adames hit an RBI double off Loáisiga, scoring Santana.

Another insurance run was added to the scoreboard and it was now 5-2 Brewers.

In the top of the eighth inning, Monasterio hit a two-run RBI double off reliever Greg Weissert, scoring PR-CF Joey Wiemer and 2B Brice Turang.

It was now 7-2 Brewers.

In the same inning, Santana hit an RBI single off Weissert, scoring Monasterio. The Brewers extended their lead to 8-2 and won by that score.

Another note to add about this game is that due to the severity of Severino’s injury, he won’t pitch again this season and this offseason would be his walk year.

Game 2

RHP Michael King started for the Yankees versus LHP Wade Miley for the Brewers.

The scoring began in the top of the fourth inning with Adames hitting an RBI triple off King, initially scoring RF Mark Canha.

With 1B DJ LeMahieu making a rare throwing error, Adames scored, too. It was 2-0 Brewers.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, SS Anthony Volpe hit an RBI single off Miley, scoring 2B Gleyber Torres.

The Yankees trailed the Brewers by 2-1.

Later in that inning, 3B Oswald Peraza reached on a fielder’s choice handled by Adames, scoring RF Giancarlo Stanton.

The Yankees tied the score at 2-2.

Fast forward to the top of the eighth inning, LF Tyrone Taylor hit a solo home run off Loáisiga. The Brewers now led by 3-2.

In the same inning, Canha hit an RBI single off Loáisiga, scoring CF-RF Sal Frelick. The Brewers extended their lead to 4-2.

Next, DH Victor Caratini hit a sacrifice fly off Loáisiga, scoring Santana. It was now 5-2 Brewers.

In the top of the ninth inning, Contreras hit a two-run single off a recent call-up and reliever Matt Krook.

The Brewers extended their lead further to 7-2.

Later in that inning, Caratini walked on ball four via reliever Ron Marinaccio with the bases loaded.

This forced a run to cross home plate, scoring Frelick and it was now 8-2 Brewers.

Next, Monasterio received a bases-loaded walk via Marinaccio and it became even more of a laugher at 9-2 Brewers.

This would be the score the Brewers would win by, securing a series win against the Yankees.

Game 3

Ace RHP Gerrit Cole would get a chance to be the losing streak-stopper for the Yankees against RHP Corbin Burnes of the Brewers.

There was virtually no offense in the nine innings of regulation Major League Baseball as well as the 10th inning of this game. 

The Yankees were being no-hit by Burnes as well as the Brewers bullpen and Cole on the Yankee side brought his game, pitching seven full innings despite not having his best stuff in his repertoire.

Volpe had a chance to break up the no-hitter and win the game for the Yankees in the bottom of the 10th inning, but Frelick in right field had other plans when he made a game-saving catch for the third out.

It took the Brewers until the top of the 11th inning to push a run – a ghost runner (Caratini) from second base – across home plate. 

Taylor hit an RBI single off reliever Nick Ramirez, scoring Caratini. The Brewers were on top by 1-0.

In the bottom of the 11th inning, the Brewers’ combined no-hitter was finally broken up by 3B Oswaldo Cabrera with an RBI double off reliever Joel Payamps, scoring Volpe as the ghost runner from second.

The score was knotted at 1-1.

In the top of the 12th inning, Wiemer hit an RBI double, scoring Santana as the ghost runner. The Brewers once again took the lead at 2-1.

In the same inning, Monasterio hit a sac fly off Ramirez, scoring Wiemer from third base. The Brewers extended their lead to 3-1.

In the bottom of the 12th inning, with Torres at second as the ghost runner, Stanton hit a game-tying two-run home run off reliever Andrew Chafin.

The score was knotted at 3-3.

In the bottom of the 13th inning, C Kyle Higashioka – who came in as a defense replacement for C Ben Rortvedt when Jake Bauers pinch-hit for him earlier in this game – hit a game-winning RBI double off reliever Hoby Milner that scored LF Everson Pereira.

The Yankees won this game in walk-off fashion by the score of 4-3, salvaging the last game of this series and avoiding a Brewers sweep.

A side note about this game: Domínguez was benched in this game due to right elbow inflammation.

However, as I would find out once the game ended, this inflammation turned out to be a torn UCL in his right elbow.

The rookie CF will not play for the rest of this season and it will be nine to ten months before he is good to go. 

As quickly as The Martian invaded MLB, he was humbled and in one sense came back down to Earth.

Maybe the Yankees will see him again in September but in the following year.
