A surprise update from me! Nine came back home for a 2 week holiday, and where he’s been very quiet and we don’t know much about where he has been in these last 10 days, Ou and Pentor posted two clips from last night. Thai BL Actors I Don’t Mind Singing *updated 8/19/22*

So, some time ago I made this list. Since I love making lists, I'm back again with an updated version of this. I'm actually going to make it more of a ranking of some of the strongest voices I've heard. Some of the usual suspects will be here but I wanted to add some newer voices I've heard this year to the list.

5. War Wanarat. He has a serviceable voice with a cute tone. Very different from most of the deeper tones you hear a lot in Thai BL. And he even sounds okay live. Would like to hear him more practiced and singing something more upbeat to get a better gauge.

4. PP Krit. Like War, he has a soft, pretty voice. Difference is, he seems to know how to accent it well with his music. I would definitely never mind hearing PP Krit sing.

3. Nine Kornchid. Now we're getting into the more seasoned singers. When Nine is good, he's great. But I definitely feel like I need to consistently hear him sing a song without there being a part where I feel like he struggles to hit his note. That said, I obviously wouldn't mind hearing his voice in a BL/on an OST.

2. Billkin Putthipong. This man can sing and sing live at that. Technically speaking, I think Billkin is the best singer on this list (and, by consequence, the best singer to act in BLs for me). His tone is gorgeous and clear. The only reason he's not higher is because I simply prefer the two I have ranked higher honestly.

1a. Nunew Chawarin. At this point, we are on to the actors whose voices either I adore or who can sing circles around the industry. Nunew has one such voice I really enjoy. While not the most technically proficient or even consistent, when he is on, he is ON. His tone is so sultry, he sings in an appropriate key, his high notes sound strong and clear, he's got a cute little vibrato in his voice and an R&B style. He's literally got EVERYTHING. I don't know why the girls are sleeping on him. Yes he needs some work here and there but it's nothing alarming and he has such a command of his voice it's just wild to see honestly.

1a. Jeff Satur. Not even gonna front, I don't know why Jeff is higher than Nunew for me. I just know I am in love with "Why Don't You Stay" and Jeff sounds heavenly singing it. Obviously it helps that he has a very old-school sounding soulful voice. He's got a rasp, an attitude, and a perfect heaviness going on. You can just tell he feels every word he sings. I am so soothed hearing him.

I read the manga and watched all seasons of the anime. The best shōnen manga ever published - even without the obvious BL ships 😅

ReLife

A mysterious pill that gives its recipient a second chance at (high school) life? Count me in! I am just in love with its concept and plot. Like Haikyuu, I have read (and re-read) the manga and watched the anime and live-action. Though both the anime and live-action are somewhat lacking (probably because they were aired before the manga was finished), it is still my go-to show whenever I feel life is extra sh*tty.

To My Star and To My Star 2

My fellow BL fans would understand why this series managed to tug at my heartstrings. I would always see puppy Kang Seo Joon and his reluctant "owner" Han Ji Woo whenever I re-watch the episodes.

2 Moons 2

I prefer this version to the previous one. Mainly because of JoongNine, although it is a shame that they were not able to give this series a proper ending due to controversies surrounding the production company.

A Tale of Thousand Stars

I love the plot. I love the acting. I love the location. I love the director. What more would I want?

The Gifted (Seasons 1 and 2)

The series that solidified my love for Nanon. Whenever people ask me for a recommendation for "good" TV, I always start with this series.

What can I say? I am a sucker for Japanese manga - especially if it involves something awesome like murder mystery and time-travelling. Like ReLife, I have read the manga during publication and also watched the anime and the live-action on Netflix.

My School President

This combines my two loves - BL and music. It also does not hurt that the leads are adorable and they actually know how to sing (unlike some BLs I know that have a musical number for no apparent good reason. Yes, looking at you, Between Us 😅). It is also the only Thai series that I almost have a complete collection of merch.

what's the deal? is it a sequel or a reboot or some kind of anthology series? can i just watch 2moons2 without watching the other howevermanymoons?

ok so technically 2Moons2 was SUPPOSED to be the sequel to the original 2Moons. But I think since so much negativity was surround gxxd (the dude that originally played Pha) that they just went ahead and re-did the entire series. Gxxd admitted that he didn't want to kiss Bas so they only had one forced kiss wayyyy at the end of the series. KimCopter was A+ as MingKit tho and I loved Bas as Wayo.

The original 2Moons showed Pha and Wayo getting together as they worked on the Campus Star and Moon competition. The original touched base with Ming and Kit so you could see them beginning to fall in love but not get established.

The original didn't touch on Forth and Beam at all though. The only reason why I'd suggest watching the original is because Kimmon Varodom, Copter Panawut, and Bas Suradej are all in it and I love them...but you could also watch Gen Y for them because they're practically playing the same characters just in a different universe (I'll explain more about that if you want lol)...like they're the ONLY reason I wouldn't COMPLETEY discard the original, but you don't have to watch it to watch 2Moons2.

So 2Moons2 is really a reboot of the original but better in my opinion.

They cover the same story in 2Moons2 but the only exception is that they compacted what was shown in the original series to just a few eps so they could move forward with everyone's storylines.

I really liked 2Moons2 overall because Ben and Earth had better chemistry as Wayo and Pha. Joong and Nine were just as amazing as KimCopter for MingKit. And Pavel and Dome were just *chef's kiss* as ForthBeam. You get to see all THREE couples get together and overall the series gives off a better vibe than the original.

If you'd like I could explain more about the plot and also about an alternative to the original 2Moons if you want to see the same actors but not watch 2Moons(aka gen y)
