SURPRISE BIRTHDAY

joseph quinn x fem!reader

summary: reader is throwing a surprise birthday party for her boyfriend joseph of 3 years. because she’s being so secretive, joseph finds it sus and becomes upset with her until he gets surprised.

warnings: none! just fluff & a little hint of smut <3

a/n: i haven’t written books or fics since around 2016 so please bare with me :’) but i hope you all like it.

“balloons? check. food? check. alcohol? cheeeck. guests? check. cake?…. shit” you say to yourself as you’re going through the list of things for Joseph’s 29th birthday. you’ve been together for 3 years and have always done something super special and fun for each other’s special days. this was your first time planning a surprise birthday party and you usually aren’t so great at keeping secrets but this is so special, you wanted it to be perfect and it was already… aside from not having the cake. you woke him up with breakfast in bed and gave him one simple tiny present, a new rolex. something that would go great with his outfit tonight. just the thought of his beautiful face and bubbly personality reacting to the surprise you’ve been planning for months, made you excited and smile to yourself. “love, who are you talking to?” you jump as you hear Joseph pulling you out of your thoughts. “huh?.. nobody. just uh, thinking out loud.” you say. “..are you alright?” he says concerned. “lately you’ve been so distracted and talking to yourself more than usual and i’m a bit worried. you know you can talk to me right?” he walks over to you, wrapping his arms around your body and setting his head on top of yours. you got slightly offended that he called you out on your habit of talking to yourself but you couldn’t help but thinking less of that snuggled into him more, melting his arms feeling comforted that he’d be so worried and also just love to be in his arms. “i’m fine. don’t worry about anything it’s just been… a lot of things i’ve had to get done. but it’s your birthday and today is about you so i will finish all i have to do and tonight i will be dedicated to you only.” you turned around so your arms are now wrapped around his waist, rubbing your thumb slightly on his back and him staring down at you, still holding you in his arms. you see he seems slightly annoyed but instead he slightly rubs his nose against yours “dedicated to me? i love the sound of that,” he says as you leaves a light but sweet kiss on your cheek. “you know, i know exactly how we can start off the night of dedication.” you laugh pushing him back and grabbing your jacket and purse, remembering you have to get the cake before everyone shows up. “you are sooo freaky you know that?,” you both laugh. “you still have to go meet Jamie at exactly- *you look down at your watch* 5 minutes ago. yeah you should go” he eyes widened knowing he was going to be late and would have to deal with Jamie’s sassiness that was exactly pretty funny a lot of the times. “shit!-“ he yelled and quickly grabbed his wallet and phone and ran over back to you and pecked you on the lips. “i’ll see you tonight. i love you & can’t wait for a full night of dedication and spending it in your arms” he says smirking and leaving a kiss on your neck, heading toward the door. “i love you. see you tonight and don’t forget your new shirt for tonight either!” you yell as he quickly ran out, waving his hand and shutting the door already knowing he’ll be at least 30 minutes late to hang with Jamie. you had no idea how you’d get Joseph out of the house for a few hours until Jamie told you he’d be home for a few weeks before going back to Canada to film a new movie and knew he would be the perfect person for the job. Joseph and Jamie became close friends long before you and joe had met. when you had auditioned for a minor role in a movie, you met Jamie and he ended up introducing you to Joseph, saying you’d be perfect for one another and the rest was history.

You head for the door, hoping to find a really good cake on such short notice. you head to a bakery called ‘Bros Bakery’, you and Joe’s favorite place to go and have little date mornings. you walk in and are greeted by Sal, one of the owners, “hey y/n! how’s it going? i haven’t seen you here in a while” he says. which is true, with all the interviews you’ve been doing to promote your new film and Joseph traveling back and forth to the UK for work and seeing his family, you haven’t had the time to really see Sal and his brother Andy, the co-owner. “hey Sal! i know it’s been so super crazy with work and Joe just in and out of the UK. we’ve really missed you guys honestly.” he smiled warmly. “we’ve missed you guys too. now what can i do for you? Teresa just baked some fresh pumpkin bread.” you contemplated but you knew you still had 2 1/2 more hours until Jamie came back to house with Joe to surprise him. “you know what? i might take you up on that but you know it’s joseph’s birthdaaay and of course..” he stops you mid sentence, “you forgot the cake? no worries. we already had the cake made.” you both laugh “i knew i could count on you guys. i have to move quick and set up everything before everyone comes tonight” you say tiredly. “it’s no problem. you’ve been planning this for months so Teresa whipped up a nice vanilla cake with butter cream for you” he says enthusiastically. “ugh thank you so much Sal i really appreciate it. are you guys still able to come tonight?” you ask. “oh yeah definitely! me and Andy will be there but Teresa can’t, she has her kids tonight. but hey, how about we bring over the pumpkin bread. it’ll be on the house for the sake of the party. i know how much you kids like it!” Sal says. they’ve always been so genuine treating you and Joe like one of their own. “hell yeah of course. cant say no to that. i’ll see you guys tonight.” he wraps up the cake for you in a box, adding a little bow on top for a little razzle dazzle and you rush quickly home to set up for the party.

it’s now 7:30pm and everyone is here. Joe K, Maya, Charlie and Natalia, of course Jamie’s girlfriend Jess, Gaten, Caleb, and a lot of you and his closest friends. Jamie and Joseph would be here 8pm so everyone just sat and talked, eating some of the food your best friend b/f/n made and brought over. you were grateful that everyone cared so much and would help you at anytime. you walk over to your best friend sitting next to them on the couch and sighed tiredly. “what’s wrong y/n?” she says turning to you, raising an eyebrow. “just tired is all. i’ve planned and worked consistently for this night and i’m just hoping Joe loves it. lately we’ve just had small fights because he feels like i’m hiding something and i didn’t want to tell him about the surprise so i said it’s just work. i feel like he doesn’t really believe it. you said calmly but annoyed.” you and Joseph never liked to have fights especially with something a little as a distraction. when you both discussed the situation a couple weeks ago, it didn’t go too well. he had been ignoring you most of the day and when you finally confronted him, he asked if you were cheating. you were flabbergasted that he could even think you would do that but understood at the same time since you were consistently on your phone making plans with b/f/n. you told him that you would never cheat on him and that should never be a thought in his mind. you said it’s just been work, filming all hours of the night and it’s been taking a mental toll on you. you didn’t actually lie per say, it was true but you just wanted this birthday to be so fun, you just decided to make him worry… probably wasn’t the best thing to do but hey! anything for a good party. “he’s gonna love it. he’s gonna forget all about the tiny little arguments you’ve had once you buss it down on him when we leave.” b/f/n says and you scream laughing with her. “omfg you’re wild.” you say even though she’s not technically wrong. you look at the time and see that it’s 8pm and notice a text from Jamie saying they’re coming up the elevator now. you and b/f/n head to the kitchen/sitting area of your home and get ready to surprise him. “okay guys!!- you yell, grabbing everyone’s attention. “Jamie said they’re coming up now so everyone hide! i’m turning out the lights.” everyone heads to a different part of the kitchen, a few hide behind the love seats and weirdly enough but not surprising, Gaten and Caleb hide in the closet. you all hear the keys jiggle and the door sqeaks open. “y/n!” Joseph says. “hm i wonder where she is, we have go to dinner soon.” Jamie walks past him toward the kitchen, searching for the light. “text her and find out.” he says going along with the plan and as Joseph is walking into the kitchen, Jamie cuts on the light and you all jump out and yell “SURPRISEEEEE!!”. the reaction Joseph has is unbelievable. he’s so dramatic so he screams as loud as possible, in the funniest way and has the biggest smile on his face, eyes popping out of his head like a little kid. “NO WAAAY!” he yells. he starts hugging and greeting all of your friends and runs over to you, hugs you and slightly lifts you up kissing your lips. “is this what you’ve been working on for the past 3 months y/n?” he says, eyes still wide with the biggest smile. “yes-“ you say matching his energy, “i could barely keep the secret even through all the little tantrums and arguments but i’m so glad you love it” you say giving him 2 pecks on the lips. he grabs ahold of your face giving you a longer, deeper kiss that just feels like love. “of course i love it. although i do feel a tad bit bad that i was so upset with you and accusing you of things when in reality you were planning the most amazing thing ever for me and i love you so much and i’m sorry.” he hugs you tightly, both of you rocking side to side “don’t apologize my love. you weren’t wrong to feel the way you did but forget about all that. this is your party and everyone’s here so let’s just enjoy it.” you kiss him again and you both go to enjoy the party.

after 3 fun hours of alcohol, loud music, presents, and singing happy birthday everyone heads home and you start cleaning up everything as Joseph walks out of the bathroom. “oh you’re still up, drunky?” you ask him. you’re both pretty drunk but alert enough to clean and carry a conversation. “i feel like i’m missing a birthday present” he walks over to you slowly and takes a few paper plates from you and throwing them in the trash. “what do you mean?” you start looking around, thinking you genuinely forgot a present but apparently not alert enough to realize what he means. “i mean the dedication- he wraps his arms around your waist and starts kissing down your neck. “i still have 2 more hours of my birthday and i think this is the perfect way to end it” you grin a bit and lift up his head from your neck and start kissing him. “ohhh-“ you hold his face looking lustfully, in his eyes as he is to you “well i guess i have to keep my promises” you both smirk and start kissing again, making out at this point and walking toward your bedroom. he pushes you down on the bed and you both start taking each other’s clothes off. a bunch of ‘i love yous’ and plenty of names being called, you and Joseph ended his birthday in the most electrifying way possible.

“so, joseph you & y/n are both currently working on different projects. tell me, how are you guys finding time for each other with your busy schedules?” an interviewer sat up in his seat. the cameras were everywhere & the lights were bright and hot. joseph answered with articulation, “it’s not hard, we stay in touch & see each other frequently. she’s actually here now!” joseph pointed through the cameras directly at you & blew a kiss towards you. “that’s awesome, it’s gotta be a struggle to find that balance though right?” the interviewer eased in, “what’s the secret?” joseph laughed & made eye contact with you, “unconditional love,” he panned back to the man, “and patience of course… it doesn’t always work out perfectly but we’re both patient.” the man smiled at joseph, “you two are lovely!”

6 months had passed & you & joseph have only seen eachother a handful of times. you were talking/texting regularly but it’s turned into shorter, stagnant responses over time. you had just filmed the final take for this scene & was ready to see joseph. you two had planned this dinner two weeks ago after he cancelled the other one. after the long week you had you desperately needed this time with him. your car was waiting for you once you finished talking & grabbing your things. as soon as you got into the car you decided to text joe. *hey still on for tonight? xx* a bit of time passed before he replied, *of course love, see you soon :) x* you put your phone away for the rest of the ride. as soon as you got home you decided to shower & get ready. it’s been almost a month since you actually seen & get to have more than 10 minutes of time with joseph so you wanted to wear something that he couldn’t wait to rip off. "little black dress of course." you held the revealing piece up to your body in front of the mirror & smirked. once you got your hair and makeup done you slipped on the strapless dress that hugged your figure. your red bottom louis vuitton’s seemed to call out your name. your car was arriving soon so you took it upon yourself to give joseph a call, to check in. it rung all the way through to voicemail so you texted. *about to leave here in 5, i’ll see you at dinner!* a black suburban was buzzed through your gate so you put your phone in your purse, grabbed your jacket & made your way out of the house. knowing how busy joseph is you decided not to blow his phone up, didn’t want to ruin the night before it started. your security, dillon, was in the front seat next to the driver. “how’re you doing today miss y/l/n? excited for dinner with joe?” he beamed, dillon was always so sweet and supportive. you thought of him more as a best friend than your body guard. “i’m good! very excited. it’s been way too long.” the excitement oozed as the driver pulled off.

the vehicle pulled up in front of the elegant restaurant. the sun was starting to set, it looked gorgeous. the sight made you even more excited for tonight. paparazzi seen the tinted windows & automatically knew someone important was in there. dillon turned around in his seat to face you, “they’re like roaches, everywhere all the time.” he rolled his eyes, “are you ready miss?” you put your blacked out shades on, “ready!” dillon got out of the vehicle holding his arm in front of the paps to make room for your door to open. as soon as it opened the flashing & yelling started. “y/n! how’s filming for Point Blank going?” one yelled while being shoved to the side by another pap, “hey y/n! where’s joseph at? haven’t seen you two together in awhile.” another interrupts him, “yeah! did you guys break up, finally?” your ears perked up when he said 'finally' & you rolled your eyes. dillon got you out of the car & pushed through the paparazzi to eventually get you inside of the restaurant. a waiter asked for the reservation name & you quickly said “Quinn.” he pulled two menus out & motioned towards the seating area. “if you can just follow me.” he lead you through the perfectly lit dining room to a secluded booth. your stomach dropped when you didn’t see joseph already seated. “can i interest you in a glass of sauvignon blanc?” he asked while holding a big bottle & a wine glass. you sat down, “of course! thank you.” you flashed a nice smile to try & hide the fact that you were a bit hurt. the waiter poured you a glass of the wine & took a step back, “your server will be with you soon. enjoy!” you nodded back in assurance before he walked away. you grabbed your phone & called joseph, no answer. again, voicemail. you figured he’s running late so you left him a text. *just got seated. call me when you’re on your way! excited to see you, hun xx* you set your phone down & took a sip of your wine, waiting.

“are you ready to order ma’am?” the waiter circled back around a few moments later. “i’d like to wait please, if that’s okay?” you said while swirling your wine in the glass & taking the last drink. the server quickly filled it again as you nodded in appreciation. about 45 minutes passed. text after text & phone call after phone call. still no answer. at this point you felt like you were being stood up. you had a few more glasses of wine than you’d have liked so you decided it’s time to go home. you called dillon and told him you were ready & he was already waiting by the entrance for you. there weren’t any paps outside thankfully, it’s gotten pretty late so you’re hoping they found someone else to berate or just went home, doubtful on that one though. you paid the tab & dillon ran in front of you to open the door. as you two walked outside another black suburban pulled up in behind your vehicle. of course, out hopped joseph. he looked so unfazed it was disrespectful. “hi my darling, i’m so sorry i’m late. filming went past time a bit and-” he stopped as you interrupted him, “save it, joe. i texted & called plenty of times. you could’ve had SOMEONE call me, instead i looked stupid sitting in that fancy place all dressed up by myself.” joseph’s whole demeanor changed when he seen you visibly upset. “it’s been a whole month joseph, we had this planned for weeks after you cancelled the last date.” joseph took a few stops closer to you & grabbed your waist to pull you closer, “from the bottom of my heart, im sorry my love. production was having errors, i should’ve texted you.” you almost believed him until the smell of liquor rolled off his tongue along with those words & your stomach turned. “you have to be fucking kidding me. your breath reeks of liquor & you’re gonna tell me you were stuck filming?” you pushed joe off of you & he stood back & rubbed his forehead, “it was only a few drinks, y/n. don’t worry i’ll be fine.” your jaw dropped in amazement, “you think i give a damn how many drinks you had? you lied about what you were doing when WE had plans. or did you just forget about your own girlfriend?” you were visibly getting angry with joseph. “so what i had a couple drinks, y/n! these hours are stressful.” joseph whined. it really set you off how he pulled the stressful hours card, knowing you have the exact same job & bad hours as well. “you’re an asshole dude.” the argument went on for a bit longer, getting heated at times. finally, you put your hand up to his face & walked away towards your car that was waiting. dillon had the door open & shut in seconds. “drive, please.” you pushed your words out, trying to hold back the tears. it was a quiet drive home. once you finally arrived, you kicked your heels off & got into bed, full face, dress on and all. you honestly just wanted to go to bed & forget tonight even happened. you opened twitter just to mindlessly scroll but instead found your notifications blown up. the first notification you see is headlined “y/f/n stood up by joe quinn tonight” with photos attached. in the first couple of photos it was you walking into the restaurant & sitting at the table by yourself. the next few were long distance shots of you & joseph mid arguement. you didn’t realize how heated it actually got until you seen it from an outside point of view. you sighed & locked your phone, throwing it next to you. your eyes began to water so you shut them tight & rolled over to force yourself to go to sleep.

8:32am, you woke up to your doorbell being spammed & 10 missed calls from joseph. you decided to be petty & make him wait longer, just like he made you wait. you changed out of your dress into a large t-shirt & threw your hair up. you made your way downstairs to open the door. joseph stood tall over you, “look, i’m sorry for lying to you. i shouldn’t have. i did go have a few drinks after texting you back that i’d see you soon. i lost track of time. please forgive me.” he pretty much begged. “honestly i have nothing to say to you at the moment, i’m mad. i’m pissed & hurt. we barely speak & seeing you is getting harder & harder. i get that we’re both busy with our projects but i’m putting more of an effort than you are joseph & it sucks.” your eyes watered, you felt like you guys were slowly growing apart. “don’t you think you’re overreacting? it was one dinner.” he sighed. you were taken back that he had the nerve to say that. “one dinner? one fucking dinner? what about the other dates you cancelled last minute. were you drinking then too? what about our conversations? you act like you couldn’t be bothered to message me back joseph. i’m always the one calling first to ask you how your day was. the past 4 months have been nothing but paparazzi & interviewers asking if we’re still together or not,” you fully reamed him not giving him a chance to speak, “they must be seeing something i wasn’t but now i see it. leave me alone until you figure out whether you want to be with me or not.” joseph couldn’t even get a word out before you slammed the door in his face.

another month passed. you focused hard on your movie & it was finally finished. joseph was in the last stretch of finishing his. he tried texting and calling here & there but it felt so strained you didn’t have the energy to reply. tonight you had your big movie premiere & it was gonna be the first time you seen joseph since everything happened, if he even decides to show up. “i love him so much but he lied straight to my face. lied about something he didn’t even need to lie about. he made me feel like shit the entire course of those months.” you vented to your friend olivia, who was also your makeup artist, as she did your foundation. “babe, you two are movie stars. it’s going to happen where you two get busy & barely talk. it’s up to you two to figure out whether you want to keep fighting about it or if you want to get through it.” she said softly as you played with your rings. “i want to, i don’t want this to ruin us.” your eyes began to water. “aht aht! no crying,” olivia grabbed a qtip to soak up the tears before the dripped, “i did too good for you to go and wash it all away!” she turned you towards the mirror to show you your finished face. “ya look gorgeous my friend. you two will figure it out.” olivia kissed the side of your head & you smiled. once you were completely ready & got some pictures for social media out of the way it was time to walk the carpet. you & joseph always walked the carpets together for your premiers/award shows. you felt extremely lonely. standing at the beginning of the carpet everyone was faced towards you already, cameras & lights pointed. you nervously took a step but before you could go any farther you felt a hand gently pressed to your lower back. you turned in surprise to see joseph’s dimpled cheeks & brown eyes. “you came?” your voice broke. “of course, i would never miss any of your moments.” you took a deep breath in & out nervously, “thank you joe, so much. i needed you here.” he leaned in to kiss you on the cheek & you felt your face burn up. “let’s get you on this carpet, love.” once everyone seen you two on the carpet together they went crazy. they asked questions about whether you two were broken up or not, still friends, etc. it only just made you think more of the conversation you & joseph needed to have. “we need to talk.” you whispered to joe as you reached the end of the carpet. he nodded in agreement. before you two even took the last step off of the carpet he grabbed your hand & made you follow him to a secluded area. “look joe-” you hesitated as joe interrupted, “no don’t say anything. i am so sorry for hurting you, for making you feel unimportant. i genuinely don’t know what got into me. i was being an asshole to you & you didn’t deserve that.” joseph paused, “god, y/n. i’m so madly in love with you. i can’t lose you over this.” your eyes began to water. “you’re the love of my life. we will figure out something to make it work. all of this shit wouldn’t be worth it if you weren’t doing it with me.” by the time he finished you had tears streaming down your face, not even caring about your makeup. “i love you so much joe. i couldn’t possibly do this without having you by my side. we will figure this out.” joe’s eyes were watery, “don’t be a crybaby now, quinn.” his laugh filled the air, “shush look at you! you better call olivia.” he wiped a black mascara tear from dripping off of your chin onto your dress. in the same motion he tilted your chin up to make your eyes meet his. without missing a beat your lips met for the first time in months, feeling like no time has passed since you last kissed him. the kiss lasted for a few long seconds. you pulled away remembering you still needed to get your makeup fixed before you two went out there. “i have to find olivia, can i meet you at the table?” you ran your fingers through his curly hair as he still held onto you, “of course, love. i’ll be waiting for you.” he snuck another kiss in before letting go of you. your heart felt so full again, beating out of your chest as you walked away from him.

you found olivia & got everything fixed before you went back to the main area to find joseph. his face lit up as soon as he seen you & waved you his way. everything felt so perfect & good. you sat down beside joe & he leaned in to peck you on the lips, leaving you with a blushed smile. the premier was great, so many friends & people you considered family. you & joseph had your stuff figured out & you couldn’t be happier. once the director of the movie started speaking joseph grabbed your hand and squeezed it 3 times, meaning ‘i love you’. so you did the same back.

*sneezes* “love, could you grab me another box of tissues please?” you hear Joseph say from the kitchen. he’s been sick for the past couple of weeks and let’s just say he’s been a big baby. honestly it’s pretty cute when he pouts for you to rub his back to help with the pain from coughing so much and the little voice he makes when he doesn’t want to bother you but needs something. but boys can be dramatic sometimes. Joseph was recently in Toronto filming for a new movie and it was pretty cold there and coming back home with all the weather change, he got a cold. you didn’t mind taking care of him since you work from home. you were making him chicken soup from scratch, along with some ginger tea to sooth his throat. you also add a little eucalyptus which helps with nasal congestion.

you add everything onto the tray, including a new box of tissues and head to your guest bedroom. Joseph wanted to be super precautious not to get you sick, which you found sweet. “here you go, darlin’” you set the tray of everything he needed over his legs and helping him sit up straight. he gives you a half smile then frowns “what’s wrong?” you ask. the answer is pretty obvious but with Joe you never know. he sighs “nothing. thank you y/n. if i could give you a kiss i would” he starts drinking his tea while you sit down at the edge of the bed, watching ‘Peaky Blinders’ one of his favorite shows.

you hear him start eating and hear him huff heavily, making you turn around. “what’s wronnng?” you say again with a flat face, you knew by his tone it was something more. “well it’s just i hate being sick. my throat is really sore, my nose is running uncontrollably, my eyes are itchy. i could have pink eye, do i have pink eye?” he rambles on and on leaning closer to you and you laugh “babe, you are so dramatic. you don’t have pink eye, your eyes are fine. drink your tea, it’ll help your throat” he pouts which you find cute and sips his tea again “do you think you could grab me some halls, please?” he says in a low, sweet raspy voice. you mumbled a mhm in a peppy way and made your way into the kitchen to grab some and you hear, yet again, Joseph calling for you. “y/nnnn” you leaned back, looking at him on the bed. “yes my lovely sick little man” you say. “could you turn the AC down please? i’m a bit hot” you nod your head and turn it down to 70°f. you walk back into the room and set the halls drops by the nightstand.

you turn to walk away when Joseph grabs onto your arm “i just want you to know that i appreciate everything you’ve done for me the past couple of weeks-“ you turn to look back at him “i know i’ve been a bit of a nag but i just love the way you care for me” you smile warmly at his words. even though he can be dramatic, you love that he knows how much you care for him. “a bit???” you both laugh. “thank you my love and i do care for you a lot. i’ll always take care of you but sometimmmes” you make a face raising your brows which causes him to laugh uncontrollably and cough. “i love you. and i promise when you’re sick, i’ll give you a bell and you can ring it until it falls off.” he says smiling. you lean in, giving him the biggest kiss on his forehead. “i love you more. just please hurry up and get better because i miss you in the bed with me.” he goes back, picking up his food, “i would eat 5 bowls of this if it helps me get back in bed with you” and with that he starts eating but quickly spits it out “a bit cold” he said and you laugh taking it, popping it in the microwave and giving it back for him to eat. you couldn’t help but smile over how much you love him and walked out of the room to shower and rest yourself.

"are you okay ma’am?" his husky but comforting voice raised. getting into a vehicle with another unknown man seemed absolutely batshit giving what happened the night before but you had to take your chances & get home. "i need to get home…. how far are we from range view?" your voice shakily asked the man. "not far at all, about 30-45 minutes but i can get you there in 20… she’s a speeder!" he giggled as he patted his dashboard. his softness made you a bit more comfortable & you found yourself climbing up into the semi & buckling up. the man nodded his head & looked forward as he began to drive. not long passed until your stomach started hurting again. you wiggled around in your seat trying to find some comfort. "what’s your name? & may i ask if you’re okay?" the man broke silence. "y/n… and i think so. just partied too hard last night i guess." you tried laugh it off & seem okay but your stomach was feeling worse. "how about you? what’s your name?" you questioned. "vincent. vincent hardy. you seem young, are you sure you’re okay?" he looked over at you with a face of concern. "nice to meet you vincent, thank you for helping but i’m okay. just really need to get home." he nodded & didn’t bother you anymore. at this point your stomach was in absolute knots & you definitely needed to eat something. vincent turned up the radio & tapped to the tune on his steering wheel. suddenly you smelled something so sweet & you felt heat radiating towards you. vincent looked over at you & smiled softly, turning his eyes back to the road. suddenly your mouth began to water immensely & something inside you changed. "i just wanted to thank you again, vince." you leaned over towards him & put your hand on his thigh, staring into his eyes with pouted lips. "ahem, uh yea of course y/n, always glad to help someone in need. about 10 more minutes until we hit range view!" he nervously nodded towards you and put his eyes back on the road. you squeezed his thigh a bit, "can you pull over? i need to pee very bad & can’t hold it. please?" you slightly whined & he quickly did so. you hopped out of the truck & walked a bit into the trees where you couldn’t be seen. you knew exactly what you were doing, just didn’t know why. you couldn’t stop yourself either. you clenched to your stomach as it shot pains & growled and you suddenly screamed. very, very loud. your knees felt weak & you dropped to your knees. not long after did you hear leaves cracking under footsteps. vincent found & ran over to you, quickly picking you up to your feet. "what happened?!" vince’s voice was shaken with concern. "i-i don’t know… my stomach is killing me i don’t know what’s wrong, please help me, please." you cried & pleaded. vince frowned & threw your arm over his shoulder, "you're fine sweetheart, everything will be okay." those words replayed in your head a few times until it snapped. everything that happened the night before flashed before your eyes in an instant & within seconds you black out.

once you regain consciousness you once again, find yourself covered in blood that’s not yours. "vince?" you called out to the trees, "vince are you out there?" you pleaded as you began to turn around. once your eyes locked you froze. "why did they do this to me?" a few steps in front of you laid vince, cold and completely lifeless. his eyes were wide open still & he looked so terrified. his entire abdomen was ripped apart, gone. your attention shot to the keys shimmering on the ground & you shuffled quickly to grab them. before making your way back to the semi you turned around to face vince, "i’m so sorry, i’m so sooo sorry." as you were walking you realized you weren’t sore anymore. hell, you felt like you could run the rest of the way home barefoot if you really wanted to. you unlocked the door & climbed up into the huge truck. seeing your bloody reflection in the rear view mirror made you realize you cannot be seen like that. looking deeper into the mirror you see a suitcase in the back of the cab. you hopped into the back & started digging through a mountain of clothes, eventually finding an old beat up grey 2xl hoodie. it would be big enough to cover up the important parts at least. once you were cleaned & settled you jumped out of the cab & threw the keys into the forest. 10 minutes from town wasn’t bad so you happily walked the rest of the way, you felt so good. your skin was soft & glowing, you hair didn’t feel dry & damaged. you didn’t realize how close to the town you got until you heard a car pull up beside you, "y/n? is that you? partied hard i guess, huh?" a familiar voice bantered from his always clean, grey 1970 chevrolet camaro. you squint to see & realize quickly, "joseph quinn," you smiled, "it’s nice to see a friendly face." joseph graduated from uni two years ago, when you were a sophomore. you met him your freshmen year & seen him here & there on campus or in class. sometimes at parties but it was more of a mutual friendship. "get in, i’ll take you to your dorm… i mean if you’d like me to?" he softly smiles as you made your way to get into the car. he is always so polite & sweet. a bit of time passed before joseph broke the silence, "so how’s senior year going for ya?" nudging you with his elbow. "absolute hell, i’m so glad i’m done in two months." you ranted, "but i’m also scared as hell of what’s to come after. time to really grow up." you glanced over at joseph & he was smiling. "you’ll be fine, don’t stress it. if i got it handled, you forsure do." he spoke confidently & so smoothly. "thank you, how’s being an old man going for you?" joseph laughed as he pulled into the dorm’s parking lot, "it’s pretty awesome." he tried to enthuse & you furrowed your brow at him, "yea i hate it & my knees are starting to pop." you giggled & stepped out of the car, shut the door & came down to the window. "yea you couldn’t fool me, joe. nice try though. thank you for the ride!" you stared into his eyes for a few seconds longer & he got visibly flustered. "yea of course, anytime!" joseph cleared his throat trying to seem less awkward. "you’re cute when you blush." you teased before walking away toward your dorm. "god i need to shower." you grabbed everything for your trip to the shower & went to rinse off the last 24 hours off of your body.
