new horizons challenge: day 5
Who’s your favourite Special Character? And if you could bring one from previous games, who would it be?
EEP ok i almost forgot i still hadn’t made my post today lol and i am about to pass out so i don’t have screenshots to share unfortunately. but… im pretty neutral abt the special characters honestly? i wish i felt more connected to them than i did. but i think my favorites are these delightful creatures:
Tumblr media
label(le) because a) she is a trans icon (i might’ve rbed the theory abt her backstory idk. but im so obsessed w it), b) she is so generous and always gives me like 2 pieces of clothing + a ticket, and c) i love just how like… straightforward she is when she talks. her way of speaking is just really endearing and clear and sort of measured and i really love it
Tumblr media
k.k. slider because… he’s literally k.k. slider. what more is there to say
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
… and pascal, gulliver, and wilbur because they all say funny things and they make me laugh! :D
as for a special character i would bring in from previous games…
Tumblr media
this is serena from city folk which i have never played. i only learned she existed like a week ago but i am deeply deeply enamored with this wretched and wonderful beast and i need her in my life immediately. i love the concept of how she appears in the game and also i love how she looks. i mean look at her

Accident II
Kyra Cooney-Cross x Gorry!Reader
Summary: Lunch with your sister
Tumblr media
It wasn't often that Kyra got scared of Mini. Sure, Mini got annoyed at her sometimes but it was never like this.
Kyra ducked to hide behind her menu, unwilling to make eye contact as you chattered away to your sister.
Mini nodded along with whatever you were saying but it was clear she wasn't fully focussed on you. All of her attention was firmly on the hand of yours that Kyra was currently death gripping.
She thought, briefly, about dropping it but then she realised that it was the only thing keeping her in even the same country as the awkward interaction that was brewing. If she let go now, she would be out the door sprinting back to Australia the first chance that she got.
Kyra tightened her grip.
You noticed, smiling at her before you refocused on your sister.
"So," Mini said, her first words since you all settled down at the table," How did you two meet?"
"At the pub. We-"
"No," Mini laughed fondly at you," I want to hear it from Kyra."
You didn't seem to find the malice in her tone so you just nodded, pivoting so you were facing Kyra.
Her throat bobbed, suddenly feeling parched. She cleared her throat. "Well...Katie and Caitlin took me to a pub after one of our matches. I tripped..." Kyra pointedly left out that she had tripped and landed her lips upon yours. "And we just started talking."
Mini nodded. "Hmm, okay." Her eyes narrowed briefly as she stared at Kyra before turning back to you. "And you," She said," All it took to get you into football was dating one of my teammates?"
You grinned. "I wouldn't go that far. I just like supporting Kyra."
Mini's gaze returned to Kyra again as you slipped off into the bathroom. Kyra wondered briefly if she should have gotten up to go with you because being alone with Mini right now felt like a nightmare come to life.
She shrunk under Mini's gaze and busied herself with sipping her drink.
"That's my baby sister, Kyra," Mini said, her tone firm like the one she used to tell off Harper.
"I didn't know at the time," Kyra replied," Honest! I would have told you if I knew!"
"Would you?"
Kyra winced. Now that she thought about it, no, she probably wouldn't have told Mini that she was dating you. "I would!" She lied.
"You would have what?" You chose that moment to return to the table, drying off your hands as you slipped into your seat.
"Kyra was just telling me that she would have happily told me that you two were dating if she'd known we were related."
You scrunched up your nose. "I wouldn't have," You said," You're scary sometimes, Kat. If I'd known you two already knew each other then I would have hidden this for longer."
Mini scoffed. "Yeah? And why's that?"
You shrugged. "You're scary," You repeated," You scared off people I wasn't even dating. I don't want you to run off Kyra too. I love her."
Mini rolled her eyes and Kyra grabbed your hand again.
She was worried, you knew this but you'd had years of practice with Katrina to know when to stand your ground. To Katrina, you'd always been (and probably always would be) her immature little sister. You'd always had to stand your ground to get her to take you seriously.
She stared at you, eyes narrowing in an attempt to get you to submit to her will. You had to admit, ever since having Harper, Katrina had perfected the mum look - having practised on you for years.
You stared back, unwilling to even blink.
Kyra looked between you both, a chill running up her spine at the battle of wills you were locked into.
"Er..."
"If she hurts you, I'll kill her," Mini promised you. It seemed like a threat that was meant to go to Kyra but she said it to you instead.
You shrugged. "As if I'd let you find her."
"Good."
"Good."
You picked up your menu. "I'm thinking gammon."
Mini picked up her menu too. "Funny, I was leaning more towards the eggs."
Kyra sat there in shock as she stared, eyes wide. "Wait, is that it?"
You frowned. "Sorry, I should have asked. Kyra, what did you want? I assumed we were going to share. Did you want something else?"
Your words didn't solve Kyra's shock at all and she was left to scramble for what she wanted on the menu.

Pretzel Chocolate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi guys!
This is a request I add some days ago, I know it kind of the same background as @alessiasfreckles current story. But I asked her before and she kindly accepted it. So thanks to her too ♥ (Go check her work, it really is amazing)
It's a little less sweet that what I usually write with Wally, but I hope you will like it.
TW : Accident, Loss memory, Angst but happy ending
______________________________________________________________
Clearly, you didn’t expect that when you innocently get in your team’s bus back to London. Like your girlfriend Lia, you’re a footballer and that’s how you got to know each other. You quickly fell in love with the Swiss girl and after some very disturbing flirting attempts on your part, Lia saved you from humiliation by asking yourself for a date. You agreed and the rest is history.
You were sleeping peacefully in the front of the bus when the accident happened. Most of your teammates had gathered in the back for a wild game cards, allowing you to catch up on your sleep peacefully. Over time, you get used to falling asleep with Mackenzie’s Australian-sounding curses when she loses, Kristie’s happy exclamations, or Katrina’s laugh.
You have no memory of the accident, you don't know why and how the driver ran straight into a pole, throwing you out of your seat under the violence of the shock and putting you at the top of the list of wounded with a vital emergency when help arrived.
Lia was at a team bonding and will remember perfectly when Mackenzie called Caitlin shortly after the accident, in shock of what had just happened. She will remember the blood that suddenly left her ex-girlfriend’s face and the horrified look she gave her. She will also remember that she needed to be told things three times so that the information was anchored in her brain and that Leah was more reactive than her, taking her to the London hospital where you were having your operation at that moment.
She will also remember the relief of learning that you are alive, but the distress of not knowing when and if you will wake up. Nor in what state. But she will also remember the unfailing support of Leah and Lotte who kept her company in the waiting room for hours.
********
When you regain consciousness, the first thing you face is a blinding light that make you close your eyes again quickly. You hear different beeps around you, whispers of voices and the sound of a chair being dragged on the floor that makes you open your eyes instinctively.
You are this time facing the faces of several people, who look at you attentively. One of them is dressed all in white, a man of about fifty years certainly who slowly approaches you by looking at you carefully.
"Can you hear me?"
You nod, bitterly regretting your gesture when your vision is blurred and a pain awakens in your skull. You wince and moan in pain, your eyes flickering when one of the two women in the room takes your hand in hers. She seems to be on the verge of a panic attack or passing out.
"Where am I?" you ask, difficulty articulating.
"At the hospital in London. You had a traffic accident two weeks ago. Do you remember?"
"No…" you frown, searching your mind for any information.
"It’s normal" the doctor assures you with a smile, noting a few words on his notepad "Can you tell me today’s date?"
As he looks up at you, he must feel the fear that begins to take hold of you. The hand on yours tightens around yours, but you are quickly diverted from this by the professional who talks again.
"What year are we?"
This time, you're way more scared. You know nothing about it. You are unable to be even close to the reality.
"It doesn’t matter, everything is fine. Tell me the closest memory of today that you have.”
"I…"
It’s the nothingness in your memory. You turn your brain upside down, without being able to get anything out of it.
From the corner of your eye, you see the two women exchanging a look, without you being able to understand what it's about. And, when you realize that you cannot give your own identity, it's panic that takes hold of you.
A few hours later, you finally come to yourself again. After your panic attack, the doctor gave you a sedative that sent you into the clouds. You come back to yourself, but your memory is still lacking, despite all the different stimuli tried by the doctors. Aside from getting annoyed and tired, it doesn’t change anything. And it's finally when one of the two unknowns women asks them dryly to leave you alone that it stops. You are grateful to her, you hope that the look you cast at her speaks for you.
You have no memory of your love life, your past, your present or your family. The doctors warned your parents who came immediately, apparently not living very far from London. You learned in the meantime that the two young women in the room are respectively called Lia and Leah, the pronunciation being the same, it confused you a few seconds. But when the brunette mumbled that she was nicknamed Wally, you decided to go for it too. You found out you were friends, Leah showed you some pictures to prove it.
Other friends came to visit you, including Mackenzie who came with a photo album so you could list the people who mattered to you. Lia is very often at your side, discreet, almost mute. You’ve noticed that her eyes get wet sometimes and then she apologizes before leaving your room in hurry.
"She cares about you and is worried" Mackenzie answered kindly at your questions.
"I think I care about her too, even if I don't remember. Seeing her sad make me sad" you mumble.
Mackenzie smiles at you, squeezing your hand in hers. She was in the accident as well and only got out with a slight concussion. Most of the players (you learned that you were a professional footballer) got away without serious injuries. There's only you.
You learned that you play football, like most people who come to see you at the hospital. And you’re playing pretty well. You play for West Ham but also in the England national team and you even won the Euro in 2022. Unfortunately, you are without a screen for many more weeks. So, Lia came back to see you once with photos of the event. You pose there beside Leah and other people who also came to see you. Beth, Alessia, Lotte and many others.
But you don’t remember that either.
********
Staring at the clock on the walls of your room, you wait for time to pass. Leah and Wally are supposed to come see you and you can’t help but feel some excitement at the thought. You appreciate when Lia comes to see you, she is calm, gentle and always very attentive to your needs. You seemed close before your accident and it’s probably stupid since she’s in a relationship with Leah, but you want to find back the bond you had.
"Hi there!" cheers Leah, entering your room soon after.
She carries Swiss chocolate and some flowers. She put the old ones in the trash to put the new ones on the table. You look at her, lying in your bed, a little bit tired. You had exercises to try to have your memories back all the afternoon, but it didn't go well.
"Thank you, Leah" you answer, slightly smiling. "Are you alone? Where is your girlfriend?"
"My girlfriend?"
Leah frown, looking at you. You frown too, you know you have a bad memory, but you saw both interact together.
"Well... Wally?"
"Wally? She's not my girlfriend" Leah laughs. "She's one of my best friends though."
"Oh... I thought... You look close."
You shrug your shoulders and you see Leah sitting on the chair next to your bed, tilting her head on the side while looking at you.
"We are. But in a friendly way"
She smiles at you and you smile back. You feel like she want to ask you something but didn't. You don't have anything to remember, so you try to work on your intuition to guess things. And you usually are very good at this. But you didn't insist, something else coming in your head anyway.
"We... We only were friends, you and me right?"
"Yes" laughs Leah "Don't get me wrong, you're very cute but..."
There is no but, because Wally is entering the room at this moment. She looks at Leah with a special gaze, making the blonde looking a little bit uneasy.
"Hi" you say, trying to dismiss the tension you don't understand.
Lia's eyes are coming on you and her face softened, giving you a small smile.
"Hi Y/N"
Her accent is special, you asked her where she's from the other day and learn that she's from Switzerland. After that, you asked one nurse what Switzerland looks like and she came back with a travel-themed magazine, the principal subject being Switzerland this month. You didn't ask Lia if you already went there, sometimes she looks so sad about your situation that you want to cry too.
She comes to kiss your cheek, before giving you the chocolate Leah was caring.
"Swiss chocolate. It's your favorite."
You look at the package with curiosity, turning it in your hands. Milk chocolate with pretzel in it.
Your loved ones have been instructed to give you secondary information about your tastes, preferences or things you like. But they must not give you information that you have not looked for yourself before. That’s why you don’t know anything about your love life, some of your past too.
You remembered some things, like how you hate artichokes so much or what your bedroom looked like when you were a teenager. Maybe you should have left this information behind when you think about the number of posters of all kinds that covered your wallpaper.
After hesitating, you open the tablet to take a square and eat it. It's not surprising that it's your favorite, the flavor is exceptional. As you enjoy your chocolate, a picture dances before your eyes. A living room with a fireplace located right next to a TV. The wooden floor is light and there is a coffee table between the sofa and the TV.
"Do I have a fireplace in my house?"
Leah and Lia exchange a look, and it's finally Leah who answers you with a little sorry smile.
"No, you live in an apartment.”
"Oh…"
You sigh softly, a little disappointed. You don’t realize that in Lia’s eyes looking at you, there’s hope for the first time since your accident. You strive to engrave this vision in your mind to forget as little as possible.
Lia sitting next to you, you instinctively seek her hand, mixing your fingers with hers. You realized a few days ago that the feeling soothes you and since Lia doesn't seem disturbed by this kind of gestures, you don't deprive yourself of it.
********
"Did Lia come to see you?"
You look up at Alessia, who has come to keep you company for the day. Her eyes are placed on the chocolate bar opened on your bedside table and a smile decorates her lips. Apparently, your chocolate tastes seem to be known to everyone.
"Yeah, she was here earlier with Leah."
You repost the crossword book that Alessia brought you, as well as some Spanish specialties received by Lucy, with whom you also play in the national team. You are apparently close to her too, but since she plays in another country and you aren't allowed to use electronic devices now, you haven't been able to exchange much. She wrote you several letters though, telling you about her dog, her love life and her life in Barcelona. That’s probably what you’re talking about when you call. It took you several days to answer something in writing, your concentration being still difficult sometimes. But you managed to do it.
"I thought they were together. Lia and Leah"
Alessia looks at you with an expression that mixes surprise, tenderness and fun.
"Many fans thought they were together before they denied the rumors. You remembered Leah’s ACL, right?" asks Alessia before continuing when you answer positively "Lia was very present for Leah at that time. I guess it brought them closer."
You nod thoughtfully, playing mechanically with the pen you always have in your fingers. You did remember Leah’s injury, which kept her away from the World Cup you apparently competed in last summer. You have a few images in mind, like kangaroos you saw with Ella or a laugh when Mary showed you a video of Alessia traumatized by a turkey.
You miss those moments we stole from you, and you can’t remember them. It’s frustrating and it makes you very sad sometimes. You wish you could get your life back, but it’s not working right now. Your parents come to see you regularly and show you photo albums of you as a child, with your brother and cousins. You seem to be numerous and you seem to be in the youngest of this generation.
"You’ll remember, Y/N" Alessia says gently, putting a hand on your knee.
You give her a little smile before you nod. Yes, you will remember. You have no choice.
********
Several things have been put in place to help you regain your memory. You have a medical treatment to take every day, you have psychotherapy and hypnosis sessions and you also have a sports routine to respect. This last thing isn't a bad idea since you are a professional footballer and if you want to get your life back, you must stay fit enough.
Sometimes you are accompanied by one of your friends, and today it is Mackenzie who helps you to return to your room. No release date has been given to you, but according to your doctors it will not be long. You don't know where you will go however, it has been highly recommended to you not to live alone for the moment. You didn’t have the guts to ask anyone. You would like to ask Lia if she would accept to host you for a while, but for a reason that you cannot determine you retreat every time you are about to ask her the question. And it’s been a few days now.
So, you are fucked up when the doctor comes back to see you in the room after your shower while you and Mackenzie watch a game on television.
"Did you find someone to have you when you left the hospital?" asks the doctor.
You feel yourself blushed and you see Macca’s face turning in your direction.
"Um… Mackenzie, I haven’t asked you this yet, but if you’re okay, I thought about you?"
Just a beautiful liar.
"Oh… yes, of course. I thought… whatever. Of course, my guest room is at your disposal."
"Thank you" you answer with a slight smile.
The next day, when Lia comes to see you and you tell her that you are going to settle for a while with Mackenzie, it would be hard not to see her face fall. You don’t understand the pinch in the heart that it makes you, but she recovers quickly, making sure that she is very happy to learn that you are better.
"Will you keep coming to see me? At Macca's?" you ask, almost timidly.
A few seconds pass during which she looks at you intensely, before nodding.
"Of course. If you feel like it"
"It would make me very happy."
She smiles at you, but with that sad smile that doesn't reach her eyes, before diverting your attention to the newspaper she brought you. You listen to her read you the latest news and you decide to offer yourself a new square of chocolate that Lia brought you, that you save with precious care. Barely in your mouth, you feel a new image coming before your eyes, pushing Lia’s voice in the background.
You’re in the same living room with the fireplace and the TV is on this time. There is a presence beside you and you hear a laugh, a laugh that gives you a strange sensation in the hollow of your belly. When you open your eyes, Lia doesn’t seem to have noticed anything. But these images caused a question in your mind and you interrupt the reading of the Swiss.
"Lia?"
"Yes?"
The brunette raises the nose of the newspaper with a curious air, looking at you attentively.
"I just… don’t take this question for what it isn’t, but I’ve never heard you laugh since you came to see me."
"It’s not really a question" ended up answering Lia after long seconds of silence.
She’s not wrong and you bite your lip, looking for the best way to put your point of view in a better light.
"I just don’t want you to feel obligated to come here, if it weighs on you. I love your presence here, but if it’s too heavy for you…"
"No. It’s important for me to come and see you."
Your eyes cross for a few moments and you only see sincerity in the green eyes of your interlocutor. You end up smiling and holding out a hand that she doesn’t hesitate to grasp. Only then do you notice the ring she’s wearing on her finger. It’s not an engagement ring, but the kind of ring you get for duck fishing at the fair. You find it strange that Lia is wearing something that is quite suitable for children.
"What is this ring?" you ask curiously.
It reminds you something, but you feel like you’re looking for a needle in a fog. Lia seems to have understood, since she looks at you briefly before answering you.
"What do you think?"
You bite your lip, searching again and again. Lia gives you time and unlike the exercises you do for your memory, you feel no pressure. Lia exudes kindness and the way her thumb caresses the back of your hand helps you a lot.
"I gave it to you."
You leave the ring colored rainbow to focus your eyes on Lia whose face is suddenly radiant. You don’t remember all the details, but you do remember the decor around you when you take out this plastic ring from its paper packaging. And of your insistence on putting it on Lia’s finger, the latter accepting not without rolling her eyes.
"Yes, it’s you" confirms Lia in a soft voice despite the excitement that seems to have gripped her.
"I don’t remember when it was" you mumble in an apology tone.
Meanwhile, Lia got up from her chair to sit on the mattress of your bed, on which you are sitting too. She always have her smile, a real smile this time. And when she affectionately passes her hand through your hair, you feel like butterflies in the hollow of your belly.
"It doesn’t matter" Lia gently says "It will come back. I know it."
You want to kiss her suddenly. You wonder what sensations her lips might give you. But, before you can answer this urge, knocks are made at the door of your room, letting in Katrina, Clara and Harper.
"I’ll leave you with your new guests" decides Lia.
You’re having a hard time covering up your disappointment, even though you’re happy to see Harper.
"I’ll see you tomorrow before we leave for Manchester." Lia informs you before putting a kiss on your head.
********
"Why does Lia looked sad when I told her I was going to live with Mackenzie?"
You are walking Leah Mom's dog with Leah, during a rather cloudly afternoon. You doctor asked you to stay in shape and because you're not ready to go back to training, you do as much as you can to move. You go to the stores walking and your coach sent you bodybuilding and endurance exercises to do every day.
Leah looked at you for some seconds, before answering you. You know you were friends before your accident, but you don't know if you talked to the other a lot. Still, you feel safe with her. You know you can talk to her.
"I feel like you already know the answer for this question."
You bite your lip, looking at Bella running after ducks. And Leah running after Bella soon after, trying to protect those poor ducks. When the blonde come back next to you like nothing happened, she pats your arm.
"Talk to her. Wally really cares about you and I'm sure she misses you"
"She said she will still come to see me. But she never came" you mumble, without looking at Leah.
You don't understand. You thought you were close and Lia's absence made you realize that you maybe have like a crush on her. Which is stupid, why in the world would she have interest in someone broken like you are? But you still miss her.
"She's going to kill me for saying that" Leah sighs, pinching the base of her nose, before looking at you "She thinks you are developing feelings for Macca. Like romantic feelings"
"What?! That's the stupidest thing I ever heard since my accident."
Well of course Mackenzie is sweet and you understand why she was your best friend before and you really like the idea that you can still have that after all that. Of course, you don't know her like Caitlin or Alanna does, but of all your teammates, she's the one you’re closest to.
Leah shrugs and call Bella to going back home.
"Like I said, talk to her."
You hum for any answer, your hands stuck in the pockets of your jogging and the brain turning a thousand an hour. It’s only after saying goodbye to Leah on her doorstep that you realize that it doesn’t explain why Lia would stop seeing you if you were really in love with Mackenzie.
She’s watching a movie with her own girlfriend when you come back home. Since they have been waiting for you to eat, you sit at the table with them and try to stay focused on the discussion, but your mind is elsewhere. You are relieved to have the opportunity to find the calm of the guest room, in which you decide to offer yourself a new piece of chocolate offered by Lia.
You were disappointed to find that no other square allowed you to remember other things as the first two times. This is the last squares you have left; you will have at worst the excuse to want extra chocolateif you need excuse to contact Lia.
Lying on your back, on your bed, you swallow the last chocolate crumbs you have left, your eyes fixed on the ceiling.
But, while you don’t expected more, a new flash comes dancing before your eyes.
The same living room, the same television, the same fireplace and the same laugh. Except this time when you turn your head, Lia is sitting next to you. She looks much happier than you’ve seen her since you opened your eyes. And the way she looks at you… Like you’re the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen.
When the image dissipates, you blink several times.
You remember.
Not necessarily in every detail and in order, but you remember.
You remember Lia, how much you hate that nickname of Wally that others give her, your relationship, your first kiss and the long weekend she took you to Switzerland.
You remember.
Your hands shaking, you’re getting out of bed. You’re as wrinkled as if you’d been running a whole game. Other memories are jostling in your head, but the only thing you want now is to go see Lia.
"I’m going to Lia's!" you shout at Mackenzie down the stairs.
You barely take the time to throw your coat on your shoulders before going out and slamming the door. When you see the rain falling on London, you congratulate yourself.
********
It’s with frowns that Lia picks up her phone some time later. There’s basically no reason for Caitlin to call her so late.
"Hello?"
"Lia? It’s Caitlin… Listen, I’m calling you from Mackenzie, she doesn’t have your phone number and uh… Did Y/N make it to your house?"
"Y/N? No? Why would she be at my house?"
Other voices are audible behind Caitlin and there are different noises before Mackenzie’s voice sounds in the phone.
"She left my house almost two hours ago, without her phone, telling me she was coming to your house."
"She’s not here" Lia replies, standing abruptly on her couch, feeling panic take hold of her. "Why did you let her go by herself?"
"I thought she ordered an Uber or something. But without her phone…"
"Do we call the police?" asks Lia.
"They will laugh in our faces" replies Katie’s voice, which is apparently there too.
It’s not surprising if Mackenzie went to see Caitlin. But this is probably not the time to ask these questions.
"I’ll go get my car and do some research in the neighborhood" Lia decides.
After deciding to do the same and giving herself directions not to turn in the same places, Caitlin and Lia hang up their phones before starting to look for you.
For your part, it’s not very glorious. Persuaded to find the way back to Lia’s house now that your memory has returned, you have dug into the streets without thinking too much. Except that you suddenly had a hesitation, then another and a third, which eventually led you to no longer know where you are. Or where you’re from.
To top it off, it’s still raining and you haven’t taken your medication to fight your chronic headaches since the accident.
Long story short, you are now in tears, sitting on a sidewalk of an unknown street, in the rain.
Finally, while she had lost hope, Lia sees your silhouette sitting out in the light of a lamppost. Her cry asking Leah, who came to the rescue, to stop, gives her a start of cardiac arrest. But the blonde obeys and Lia hurries out of the car, running in your direction.
You jump suddenly when someone sits next to you, your first reaction being to get as far away from that person as possible. But you realize quite quickly that it’s Lia and anyway she doesn’t leave you much choice by squeezing you suddenly in her arms. Hard.
“God, are you ok? What happened?” Lia asks, taking your face between her hands to look at you.
“I thought I can remember where you live, I needed to see you but then I got lost and I didn’t have my phone with me.”
“Why didn’t you call me?!”
Lia raised her voice a little and you flinch, but the Swiss woman seems to regret it as soon as it happened. She takes you once again against her, her arms firmly tightened around your body. It makes you feel safe. You’re tired, exhausted to be honest. But you know you still owe her an explanation.
“I wasn’t sure you will take my call. You said you will come to see me, and you didn’t even if I’m at Macca’s since almost two weeks now, and…”
“I’m so sorry” Lia cut you, looking at you with tears in her eyes. “But I just… I couldn’t.”
“It’s ok” you breath before staring deep into her eyes “I remember.”
A silence passes. Lia is looking at you, too.
“What?”
“I remember. My past, my childhood memories. It’s you who have a fireplace in your living room. I remember you, mein Schatz. I remember us.”
After that, it went a little chaotic. When Lia starts to cry for good, Leah almost gets out of her car, but then she see you both kiss and she understands. She takes her phone to ring Caitlin and let you some minutes before taking you both back in her car. She drops you at Lia’s, giving you one big hug before leaving you.
********
Hours later, you’re in Lia’s bed after a good hot shower. Lia gave you some fresh clothes and you can’t stop smelling them. They smell like her, like your girlfriend.
Your girlfriend who is actually looking at you like you will disappear at any moment. You can’t blame her though, so you just grab her hand and take her against you to kiss her.
“Why didn’t you tell me everything?” you mumble after the kiss.
“They didn’t want me to. They said it would be too much for you or that you won’t remember everything if we told you the truth. Your brother fights with the doctors against it, but he didn’t have the last word. I should have fight against it too, but I wanted what was the best for you, and they were the doctors, so…”
Lia shrugs, her head on the cushion, still looking at you. You can’t imagine what she went through.
“It must have been so hard for you” you whisper, stroking lightly at her face
“It was. But I knew I had to do if I wanted to have you back at some point. But then after you choose to go to Mackenzie’s and I kind of freak out. What if, even if you remember in some days, you realize that you’re in love with her and not me anymore?”
“I don’t. She always had been my friend, nothing more. It has always been you, since we crash your team” you add with a smirk.
You met Lia during a friendly game between Switzerland and England in 2022. Leah Williamson had made the presentation between you and since then you never stop talking. She asked you on a date after two weeks of texting, you said yes and everything went great since then. Even if you’re a West Ham player dating an Arsenal one.
“I thought you were with Leah, the first days after the accident” you confess at your girlfriend.
Lia frown, looking at you oddly.
“Why did you?”
“Dunno. You were like always together, but I understand now. I’m glad Leah was there for you.”
You are confident in your relationship. Even if the fans seems to like Lia and Leah together, you trust your girlfriend and your friend deeply. Plus, you’re kind of a fan of their friendship. Maybe people would find strange that your girlfriend went to live with another girl like Lia have done when Leah was injured, but you didn’t. You know how good Lia’s heart is.
“I love you” Lia whispers, before kissing you.
You smile against her lips and she doesn’t let you the time to answer before kissing you once again, hard this time. You let her. You still can tell her how much you love her later.

Missing - KCC x reader (ish)
Tumblr media
KCC’s pov -
“I cant find Harper!”Katrina shouts from across the pitch, I look up to see her running straight for me.
“What do you mean?” Leah puts her hands on Katrina’s shoulders to calm her down.
“I’ve looked everywhere, she’s gone.” I start to panic, my eyes scanning the almost empty stadium, hoping she’s just somewhere hiding like usual.
“Okay, deep breaths, we’ll find her. I’ll go tell security.” Leah being the reasonable one, calms Katrina with stern and determined eyes and jogs off to the nearest security.
“Kyra, what did we do?” Katrina looks at me with teary eyes. “We find her.” I reply, my teammates all split up into small groups with Katrina’s teammates and they all go off around the stadium shouting Harper’s name.
Y/n’s pov -
“No mate seriously, it’s a bad idea. She’ll be so mad.” I say to my best friend as we leave the cafe we work at. Bumping her shoulder playfully as she laughs at her ‘ingenious’ plan to prank her girlfriend.
“You think so? I don’t know, I think she’ll love it.” she shrugs with a smirk and I shake my head at her antics.
“Don’t be surprised when you’re sleeping on the so-” I pause the sound of a child crying hits me. I look around, sharing a confused and concerned look with my best friend.
“Can you tell where that’s coming from?” I shake my head at her question and we quietly look around, trying to find the source of the crying. I round a corner into a dark and damp alleyway and see a child curled up against wall. I slowly approach and her head shoots up when she hears me approaching.
“Hey pumpkin, are you okay?” I ask cautiously, not wanting to frighten her. Her bottom lip quivers as she shakes her head.
“Wan’ Kywa” she mumbles before sobbing into her knees again. I sit down next to her and wait patiently for her to calm down.
“Do you know where Kyra is?” She nods and wipes her face with her hands. “Stadum.” she says, I scurnch my eyebrows together in thought, the word not registering in my head until I spot the shirt she’s wearing.
“She’s at the Emirates?” The kid nods happily and I stand up. “Would you like me to take you there?” She nods again and stands up clumsily, stretching her arms up to me. “You want me to carry you?” Again, she nods. I pick her up and settle her on my hip, looking to my best friend who waited a little further away.
“This is Rayna, shes my best friend. Shes gonna walk with us, is that okay?” The kid whispers a small ‘okay’ and hides her face against my neck shyly. We start walking to the stadium, Rayna staying a few steps behind us.
“What’s your name pumpkin?” I ask her, she mumbles something against my neck. I smile, only just being able to make out what she said. “Harper, that’s a pretty name.” she giggles slightly and nods.
“Who’s Kyra? Is that your sister?” She shakes her head. “No, I don’ think so.” I look at Rayna with a confused look who just shrugs and smiles softly at the girl who had quickly popped her head up to look at her before hiding against my neck again.
I see the stadium and I tap Harper’s back gently. “Is that where you came from?” She looks up and nods excitedly. “Mummy and Kywa in there.” I smile as her face lights up the closer we get to the stadium.
We see a few girls frantically looking around the front of the stadium and I ask Harper if she knows them. “Kywa’s fwends.” One of the girls looks up and sees us walking towards them, she hits the girl next to her on the shoulder and points us out.
“They’ve been looking for you huh pumpkin?” I smile down at her as she waves to them. One of the girls comes running over to us and scoops Harper into her arms.
“Harper. Where have you been? You scared us.” The tone of her voice is relieved, holding Harper tight against her. “got lost.” She mumbles against the woman’s neck.
She looks up at me “She help.” She says to the woman, the woman looks at me and smiles. “Thank you so much for bringing her back, I’m Steph.”
“Y/n and Rayna. We didn’t want her getting even more scared and well the police can sometimes be a bit overwhelming.” She nods in understanding.
“Harper!!” Two women come running towards us and Steph passes Harper over to the shorter one. She hugs her like she’ll disappear if she lets go. “This is Y/n and Rayna, they found Harper. Guys, this is Katrina, Harper’s mum, and Kyra.”
I smile at them both, my eyes lingering on Kyra as she smiles at me. “It’s nice to meet you both.”
“You too, thank you for keeping her safe.” I nod and shake Kyra’s outstretched hand. Her touch sends shivers up my spine and I can’t look away from her eyes. Someone clears their throat and we pull away from each other and look away with red tinted cheeks.
“We should get going, thank you again for bringing her back to me.” I smile at Katrina. “Yeah of course, it was great meeting you Harper.” She pouts and shakes her head. “Don’ go.” I look at her with sad eyes, Katrina looking between the two of us and sighing with a smile.
“Why don’t you give me your number and I’ll message you? Harper would love to see you again.” She hands me her phone and I put my number in.
“Kyra would like your number too.” Steph says with a smirk, Kyra smacking her shoulder and blushing. “She can get it from Katrina.” I say as I walk backwards with a smile on my face. “Call me.” I say to her before turning around and leaving with Rayna, looking forward to hearing from them again. Especially Kyra.

Girls Like You (Katrina Gorry x Reader)
A/n y'all wanted part 2, so here she is 😊
Warnings: teeny mention of bad times. Little bit of mention of some violence, not much, though. Mentions of mental health. Some mention of illness.
Also, buckle in, guys. She's a long one.
Part one
Tumblr media
Katrina was sure she'd left her favourite shirt on the top shelf. That way, it was away from grabby hands and accidental spillages. Of course, now that she actually needed it, it was missing.
Harper's sat on the bed, playing with an electronic drawing pad. (She made the mistake of giving her actual non-toxic markers one day. Never again.)
As she digs through the large pile of clothing now on the floor, there's a small knock at her bedroom door.
"Hey, Min, just me and Kyra, you need help with anything?"
She sighs softly, standing up again and walks to the door, pulling it open.
"Yeah, I can't find my favourite shirt. Have you guys seen it?"
Charlie thinks for a second.
"You mean that blue sleeveless one?"
"No, the white button-up."
Charlie frowns for a second.
"Don't you own like ten of those?"
Katrina shakes her head. "No, Harper keeps spilling things on them, and at the rate she's doing it, my washing machine can't keep up, so I'm pretty sure I'm down to one again."
She rubs at her face softly. This really wasn't helping her nerves now. Charlie sighs softly before pushing the girl to the bathroom.
"Just put on your other clothes, and get ready. I'll have a look while you finish up."
"Thanks Cha."
She waves her off and continues digging through the mess that she'd probably end up having to lock in the wardrobe and clean up when she got back.
She puts on a pair of blue denim shorts and a simple tank top, so she's not wearing nothing when she steps out.
Twenty minutes of makeup, and another twenty for hair, later, and she walks out of the bathroom.
She can see Charlie sitting on the bed beside Harper, chatting with the small girl, keeping her occupied while she draws as well.
"Oh wow, is that a soccer ball?"
The girl eagerly nods her head.
"That's so coool. I love it. Who'd you draw it for?"
"Mummy! Soccer makes her happy, I made it for her."
Katrina's heart just melts that little bit more. Charlie turns to Katrina with the same expression, hand over her chest.
"Any luck?"
"Yup, it was on the top shelf in the corner still."
She rolls her eyes, and Charlie tosses the shirt to her.
"Of course it was."
She puts the flowy white shirt on and checks her reflection, huffing slightly.
"Nerves?" She hears from behind her.
Charlie's watching her with a small smile.
"Little bit. Nothing I don't normally deal with. In theory, this should be the easiest thing I've done all week."
The blonde only leans her head into her palm. She knows that's not really the case.
"Buuuut?" She prompts gently.
"But.. ugh, I don't know. She makes me a little nervous, is all."
"A little? Min', you've been jittery all week. What's making you so nervous? She obviously has the hots for you, and she set this date up, despite the fact you asked her out, so she obviously wants to go out."
"I know, but like, what if I end up being a disappointing date or something?"
Charlie gives her a pointed look.
"You're kidding, right? Min', I love you and care about you, and I'm gonna say this in the nicest way possible while your child is currently crawling all over me." Harper grins up at the defender.
"You are the nicest, sweetest, protective, and most caring person and a brilliant mother and one heck of a footy player. If you're disappointing to her, she's losing out on a world of love that she won't ever find elsewhere."
Katrina looks down, fighting a small flush creeping up her neck.
"Okay, but what if the fact that I have a child scares her off?"
"Are you serious? You better not be."
Katrina only blushes more at that. Charlie sighs softly.
"Min', aside from the circumstances you both met in and the fact she met your child before meeting you. She said yes to a date, knowing full well you had a kid. In fact, she messaged you just yesterday, asking if the date went well enough, Could you both spend your second date doing something with Harper. It's been four days, and she already loves this little human being. And I certainly don't blame her."
She trails off, giving Harper a big kiss on the cheek, making the girl giggle.
"Yeah, okay, I get your point." A smile makes its way onto her lips at the sight.
"You better. I'm serious Min', you're too good for her not to know what she'd be missing."
She gives her a grateful smile.
The older woman sits back on the bed, and Harper jumps out of Charlie's arms and into her mother's.
"Hi!"
"Hello, little miss."
It makes her little one giggle again, and she hugs her tight, Harper is very much happy to do the same. She's so grateful to have her. She's been light in her life for the two years since she'd been born.
A ping on her phone pulls her back to reality. It's from you.
"Hey! I'm on my way, be about twenty minutes or so? Say hi to Harps for me.😊"
There's a tingle that runs through her when she reads the message.
Charlie just gives her the I-told-you-so look.
Katrina gives her a small shove and texts you back.
"Hey, all good 😊See you soon 😉. Also, will do!"
-------
"I'm still nervous, Ash, It's my first date in like four months. What if I fuck it?"
"Dude, just don't fuck HER on the first date and it's fine."
Your sister's voice plays over the speaker in your car. You'd called her the moment you left the house, nerves grating you down a bit.
You roll your eyes at her.
"Yeah, there's no chance of that happening on the first date. You forget she's got a kid that she still has to go home to. Plus, she doesn't seem like the type to have sex on the first date and take off."
"She doesn't have to stay the night for you both to-."
"Alright! Jesus, I get the point. But still, she seemed genuinely nervous about asking me out."
"Wait, so why are you arranging the date then?"
"I don't know? I messaged first, she was happy to let me take the lead on that one, I'm assuming she's just a little busy, that's why I jumped in. Figured it would be nice for someone to take her out."
She pauses for a second.
"You said she's a professional football player?"
"Yeah why?"
"What's her name again?"
"Ashley, I'm not letting you stalk her, you already scared my last date off, I'm not letting you scare this one off too."
She gets defensive.
"I was not going to stalk her, I was just curious where she plays is all."
"Uhuh, right. Thats exactly what you were looking for."
"You want my help or not?"
"Not if you're gonna internet stalk the poor woman."
"I'm just making sure she's genuine and not some serial killer."
"Oh my fucking god, Goodbye Ashley."
"I was just looki-."
You hit the hang up button. You were just about to pull up at Katrina's place anyway.
You pull over on the side of the road and quickly check yourself in the mirror.
You went with a rolled up white rolled see-through button up tucked into a pair of black jeans and a black bra underneath. That and a pair of your lucky white skate shoes.
You try and steel your nerves a bit, wiping your palms on your pants and spray a quick bit of mint breath freshener in your mouth.
You get out of the car and make your way to the door and hit the door bell.
----------
"Ooh, shes heerrreee." Charlie takes off down the stairs.
"Charlotte Layne Grant! Do not answer that door!"
By the time she tells Kyra to watch Harper and runs down the stairs she's already got the door open.
"Hey, Y/n! She's just coming down now. Now, no funny business, we want her home by no later than ten and- Hey!"
She gets shoved away from the door by a very annoyed looking Katrina.
You watch on, biting your lower lip to hide a laugh, flowers in hand.
You hear her scold the blonde mildly and then she returns to the door a little flustered.
Her hair is down straight but tucked back just over shoulders. The white flowy shirt, rolled back to just below her elbows, shows off her wrist tattoos and her collarbone. Your eyes trail over it before meeting her eye again with a small grin noticing her having done the same.
"Hey, you."
"Hi." She says it with a grin of her own.
You offer her the flowers, and she pulls you towards her into a hug. Your arms wrap around her, keeping the flowers from being crushed. She's only a little bit shorter than you, so you're able to rest your chin on her shoulder as her arms wrap around you.
It's a short embrace, but she leaves a lingering touch to your waist as she lets go looking up at you.
She takes them inside for a second while you wait and returns swiftly.
You step back, holding out your hand for her's.
"Ready?"
She takes it, her hand warm in yours.
"As ever."
As you both walk down the drive and you open the passenger side door for her to step in, she gives you a grateful smile and a small peck to the cheek. You hear one final yell from behind you.
It's Charlie at the door, sporting a glare. "Home by ten." And gives you an I'm-watching-you gesture. You chuckle and salute at the blonde while Katrina yells back.
"You better be watching my daughter, Charlotte Layne."
Charlie's eyes widen slightly, and the front door slams shut behind her when she takes off inside again.
You close the door once she's settled and return to the driver's seat.
"Alrighty, Clicked in? Let's go."
As you pull away, she watches you carefully, waiting for an explanation as to where you guys are headed.
You hum softly. "So, I wasn't sure entirely as to your preferences, so I've got a few places we're going to, if you agree that is, we don't have to go if-"
Her hand rests on yours, your arm having been leant on the centre console.
"I'll go where you've picked for us. Im not fussed, I'm just here with you."
You smile and nod, her fingers intertwining with yours for the rest of the ride. When you pull up in a spot beside a blank modern style building, there's a little confused look on her face that's adorable.
"C'mon, you'll see once we get inside."
You nod your head towards the place. Katrina raises a brow slightly but decides to trust you as you both step inside.
It suddenly makes sense to her as you both step into a crowded bar.
It's an open mic night. In a gay bar.
It's somewhere you're a regular at, to the point where the bartender, Aiden, yells out to you the moment you both step in the door.
"Ayyy, look who's here, ladies, theydies and gents!"
There's a few cheers around the bar as some of the locals spot you. The bar isn't packed, there's only maybe forty or so people in the room, but there's a stage and a mic setup where the current half tipsy singer has stopped to cheer as you come in as well.
Your face flushes as you turn back to Katrina, a really curious look on her face now. "I'm a bit of a regular... for the karaoke, that is." You rub the back of your neck.
"Well then, miss singer, sign me up, let's see what you've got."
You smile and lead her over to the bar.
"Ms L/n, the usual?"
You shake your head at Aiden.
"Virgin tonight, and another entry for, oh, Katrina, this is my best man, Aiden. He's the one who built this bar from the ground up."
He shakes his head as he fills a glass with some lime juice, sprite, mint, and a little soda water.
"Not on my own. Your girl here runs the place when I'm not in town."
Katrina raises her brows at that. You just smile sheepishly. It certainly explained why you were a regular then.
"Okay, I may have lied a little bit about only coming for the karaoke. But it definitely is a highlight, I swear."
She just gives you an amused look.
"What about you, love, anything to drink?"
"Just a soda water, thank you." He nods and pours her drink. He processes the drinks, but when you go to tap your card, his hand jumps in ahead of yours with another.
"Little bugger, you're gonna get me in trouble, man. Paying for my drinks."
"Who said I was paying for yours?"
He playfully winks at Katrina beside you, and you tut and whack him softly, knowing he's joking with you.
"Don't mind him. He can't keep a husband, so he steals my dates instead."
He puts his hand to his chest, giving you a mock offended look.
"How dare you? I'll have you know, it's husbands, not husband."
You stick your tongue out at him. "Too bad none of them could teach you to finance either."
He raises his hands in surrender, with a small laugh. "Got me there. What's getting added to the queue tonight ladies?"
You look at Katrina, but she just gestures for you to take your pick.
"You're the karaoke expert."
You raise your brow but take the tablet from Aiden. Putting in an intrumental that you know well enough and she'll probably know.
"Up for some gender bent Maroon 5?"
Katrina nods and you both grab your drinks.
You take a seat at one of the open tables.
As you both wait for the queue to progress, you talk about what led you to take over part ownership and what Katrina's life is like playing professionally.
"Honestly, he was desperate for someone to babysit the bar at the time. He knew me from back in Uni, knew I'd graduated with some certs in business management, finance, and accounting. So he calls me up and asks me to take over for a few weeks. I kind of latched onto the place after that, and now I do his yearly taxes for him in exchange for a few free drinks and a lifetime entry to the karaoke. What about you, what's the league like?"
"It gets kind of busy during the season, particularly during the summer months. I get asked to play in other spots, and it gets complicated. I play for the Brisbane Roar currently, so media duty is something I get asked to do regularly."
You raise a brow at that. You knew she played professionally, but to what level? You had no idea.
"That's really cool, and that's November through April, right?"
She nods.
"I was in Sweden for a bit with Harper, but I wanted to come home again. At least for a while."
You nod in understanding.
"I was actually in Sweden for about six months doing international work for a company I used to work for."
She tilts her head slightly.
"Really, when was that?"
She takes a drink.
"I came back about a year ago, so June through November."
"Was it meant to be that long?"
"No, it was supposed to be a permanent move, but I got homesick too quickly, didn't know anyone, and I was living on my own for five out of six months."
"So you told them to bring you back?"
"Ha, no, I just quit. They refused, so I left and never turned back. They were underpaying me anyway, I don't regret it whatsoever. Life is less stressful when you work for yourself."
"So what do you do now?"
"Well, when I'm not here doing Aiden's paperwork, I work as a freelance financial advisor/accountant, it pays decent but the residential market in Brisbane is kind of crap, so I live with my sister and her wife in the meantime, do you do anything between seasons?"
She kind of hesitates for a moment, but as she goes to speak, next in the queue is called up.
"That's us." You take a long sip of your drink and hold out your hand for Katrina to take.
She looks a little nervous, now suddenly overcome with a little stage fright.
"C'mon, these guys aren't scary, just drunk and happy to listen to us sing gay shit all night."
She puffs out her cheeks and takes your hand.
You lead her ip the stage and the small audience in the room cheers.
You take the mic for a second.
"Evening everybody, another night in for me. Bringing you Girls Like you by Maroon 5, covered by yours truly, aand."
You gesture to your date.
"Katrina, my new partner in crime."
You nod at Aiden to hit play.
It's a soft piano based melody compared to the usual guitar intro she's used to, but she knows the song.
Spent 24 hours
I need more hours with you
You spent the weekend
Getting even, ooh ooh
You start out singing, hoping to calm the girl's nerves and let her get used to the atmosphere as well.
She's pleasantly surprised by your singing voice, although given the cheers you got, she'd suspected you weren't exactly terrible either at that point.
We spent the late nights
Making things right, between us
But now it's all good, babe
Roll that Backwood babe
And play me close
You gesture the mic to her, grabbing her hand to pull her closer to you and nudge her to sing with you.
'Cause girls like you
Run around with gals like me
'Til sundown, when I come through
I need a girl like you, yeah, yeah
You grin when she sings into the mic with you. She's pretty good, actually. It shouldn't surprise you, though. The smoothness in her voice makes your heart jump a little.
Girls like you
Love fun, yeah me too
What I want when I come through
I need a girl like you, yeah, yeah
You start to sway a little, and her hand squeezes yours as you meet her gaze. You use the moment to watch her sing. Her blue eyes are sparkling under the orange-yellow lights. Her eyes crinkle slightly, and her nose scrunches when the guys in the audience cheer and whistle.
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
I need a girl like you, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I need a girl like you
She blushes when the crowd cheers louder and lets you take over again.
I spent last night
On the last flight to you
Took a whole day up
Trying to get way up, ooh ooh
The mic stays in your hand this time, and Katrina steps back a little to watch you sing. The way you smile brightly while singing, the way your eyes close as you let the music take over you, it has her heart racing a little.
We spent the daylight
Trying to make things right between us
And now it's all good babe
Roll that Backwood babe
And play me close
You motion her back over and she bites her lip, hiding a smile as she shakes her head, wanting to hear you sing instead. You raise a brow as you continue, stepping and grabbing her hand to pull her back towards you.
'Cause girls like you
Run around with gals like me
'Til sundown, when I come through
I need a girl like you, yeah yeah
You brush your shoulder with hers, your other hand settling on her back and you feel hers settle low on your hip, you turn and give her a wink as you continue.
Girls like you
Love fun, yeah me too
What I want when I come through
I need a girl like you, yeah yeah
Your hand is warm on her back, and she can smell your vanilla perfume from her position beside you as it floods her senses. Your voice is soothing, calming her more energetic side and allows her to relax into you as she sings with you.
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
I need a girl like you, yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
I need a girl like you
The song rounds out and the audience applauds you both, whooping and clapping and you take a playful bow and turn to Katrina to applaud her as well, giving her a proud smile.
You both step down off the stage, a little hot from the heat of the lamps facing the stage.
"So we gonna talk about the athletically talented mother soccer player being able to sing?"
She coughs slightly and turns her head away. "Nope."
You try to meet her eye again, a small pout on your lips.
"No? Aw c'mon, you were so good up there."
Her face flushes as her head whips back to you.
"Says you. When was that gonna come out? Professional singing level talent."
You end up with a blush matching hers.
"I.. never really pursued it. Not worth it in my opinion."
A raised brow in your direction.
"What? Just not something I was interested in pursuing. Was never stable enough for people so.."
Her face softens, realizing exactly what you meant there.
When her hand grabs a hold of yours again, there's a small tingle that runs up your arm.
Instead of commenting further though, you nod your head at the door.
"You hungry?"
She knows you're avoiding it but she's not going to push, not on a first date. She could actually eat though, she hadn't had food since that morning, a little too stressed about the date and also making sure there no possible way for Charlie and Kyra to screw up looking after Harper again.
"Yes, who knew singing worked up an appetite?" It's said in a joking tone, and you laugh with her as you wave goodbye to Aiden and some of the others.
The moment you step outside, the warm afternoon air has set in with a light breeze. You jog over to the door when you get closer to the car again, opening it for her with a cute bow that makes her laugh. God, you could listen to that all day.
"Such a gentlewoman."
You grin and wink at her, before moving to get in yourself.
"Alright, where to next?"
"How's seafood sound?"
Katrina's face lights up.
"And you just became my favourite person. Seafood sounds perfect, lead the way."
Your laugh gives her butterflies and she swears her heart stutters for a second.
"Yes Ma'am."
And with that, you drive for about twenty-five minutes to a place closer to the water. A little restaurant you'd picked up on while out with your sister.
Katrina's hand is in yours the second you pull out onto the road, her fingers interlocking yours. You graze your thumb gently over the back of her hand. You talk about her early days as a player, her days in the academy and you almost get into her being asked to play somewhere when you pull into a spot.
The restaurant is a quaint little spot, beach themed, because of course it is, and a bar stands on the outside facing the water. Stools line the counter and the waft of cooked fish blows your way in the ocean breeze.
"This place is so good. I come out here when I need to process and just get away, even if it's not too far from home."
"Smells good too."
You wander up to the bar and take a seat behind one of the extended counters meant for two people with the bar window to your right and Katrina sits on the other side.
You order from the employee through the window and get your food without issue.
The woman's soft groan from her first bite makes this worth it.
You chuckle. "Good, right?" She covers her mouth slightly, cheeks reddening as she nods.
She swallows. "Seriously, where the heck do you find these places?"
You shrug, "Honestly, I have no idea, I like to think luck has something to do with it."
"Luck?"
"If, and this is gonna sound bad, I don't really do it so much anymore, but, if I'm having a rough day or I'm feeling lost or just, I need a breather, I tend to wander out into the world for a few hours. Furthest I've gone is like, four hours further inland. Exploring has always been my mental stabiliser. Keeps me cool, keeps me calm when I'm stressed. I don't crave it, and I don't expect it when it does happen but it just kind of happens."
"Where's the worst you've ended up?"
"Well, there's been a few and honestly in my younger years I was kind of stupid too, so I've ended up where I really shouldn't. I was down in Melbourne for four months when I was twenty. In the last month I was there, I ended up wondering somewhere on foot. Keep in mind, it was just a crap way to go about it."
You kind of look off into the waves as they crash.
"But, I ended up being fired that day by a contracting company, they decided they didn't like the fact I was so young and that I wanted more for my qualifications than 10 bucks an hour. So I just left my apartment. Ended up with a missing wallet and a black eye. Turns out my dumb ass had walked where it shouldn't have and pissed off some gang members. After that one, I moved back home again to just focus on my studies."
"I'm sorry that happened. What about the best place you've been?"
You wave her off.
"Honestly, I'm past that. That's nothing. I'm lucky, but it was definitely my dumb ass that got caught out. As for the best place? I mean, Aidan's place. We met while in Uni and I stumbled into the bar one night after a rough day about two years later. He picked me back up and we became buddies after that."
"Alright, what place surprised you the most?"
"The four hour one, I wasn't expecting to find much. I found something, though. I ended up going on a hike and found this amazing lake that just went down forever. Massive open mouth cave and a waterfall. It just looked so untouched and peaceful. It was so green and colourful and it just makes everything in the city feel so grey."
You push around your food. Take another bite and then gesture to Katrina.
"What about you? Before you had Harper, what was going on then?"
"Depends, which part?"
"Why have Harper?"
"I've always loved the idea of having kids. At first, I kind of wanted to wait until I found someone to have a child with, but in my profession, that just doesn't come easy enough. I ended up out injured and right before I came back. That was the moment where I was like, 'Screw it, with or without a partner, I want my own child.' So I walked into an IVF Clinic in Norway, picked the donor I wanted, and started right away. My timing was perfect, and the first try was a success, and now I have little Harps. There isn't a single day in my life where I ever regretted my decision."
Your hand slides across the table as she talks, her's sat unoccupied, and as you listen, you slowly grab it. Letting it sit in your palm and without much thought, she let's you.
You toy with her fingers, running the tip of your index down each one. And then half intertwine them. She squeezes your hands closed, and it settles you fully for the first time since you moved to Sweden and back. Or before that even.
"She's been a light in my life, I feel so lucky to be her mother, ya know, it's Harper's world, and I'm just living in it. The girls on the national team are so good with her."
Your head perks up at that. National team? You ask exactly that.
"National team?"
Katrina's expression winces, realizing her slip up.
"Oh yeah, that too. I've been playing with the national team since I got called up in 2012."
Your brows raise at that.
"As in..."
"Australia. For Australia."
Oh. That. Was. Not what you expected.
"Wow, that's really big. Congratulations..? Sorry, that sounded weird. That's amazing, though. I can't imagine how much hard work that is. I mean, for real, a kid right in the middle of that, and you come back to play. That must be some strength you've got."
Her head ducks slightly.
"Honestly, I'm just glad it worked out the way it has. Harper has twenty aunts and two unofficial sisters that look at her like she's hung the stars. That and achieving my dream is all I care about. Harper, more so. I think, if having Harper had taken me out. I would've okay with that. I'm perfectly happy with it, actually. If anything, having Harper actually saved me a bit, too."
"How so?"
"I ended up with an infection, and it ended up swelling up the muscles between my two pelvic points. The pregnancy actually completely took out the swelling entirely. The pain just stopped one day and never came back. Even after Harper was born."
"I really admire the level of resilience you have. To push back on any expectation, to say fuck it, if that's what you want, you'll make it happen. It's actually really attractive. I'm sorry you had to go through so much though."
She shaked her head, squeezing your hand.
"I wouldn't go back and change a thing about how it happened. It's turned me into the person and player I am. I don't regret any of it."
You smile, watching her eyes as they flick down to your lips for a second and then away. You don't know if she noticed she did it, but you did.
Your hand loosens from her grip, fingertips tracing her wrist up to the tattoo on her forearm and then back down to her palm. Her skin tingles with every touch.
It feels mildly intimate, and you realise she's been silent this whole time, watching you do this. You look up to meet her gaze, a small apologetic smile.
"Sorry, little distracted, I am listening though. Continue?"
She just gives you a soft smile in return.
"What about where you grew up?"
You ponder for a moment.
"I grew up in a small town in New South Wales, actually. We moved to Brissy later, but that's another story. A place like a couple hours south of Sydney. It's really gorgeous there, I haven't been since I was a teenager but the place was really nice. Most of the folks living there were friendly. The schools were kind of crap but that's just the public system. We had a place in the more urban side of the region. Small brick house, big gum tree in front. Good sized backyard. The town had yearly markets. They were okay. Mostly to bring in tourists, though. It worked, and the place ended up really busy right before we left. I loved it when storm season came around. The rain was always a relief to have after hot summers. I love thunderstorms. The rain always helps me sleep better, too. Just anything rain, honestly."
While you speak, she repeats your earlier actions, fingers trailing gently over the veins in your wrist or the slenderness of your fingers. They trace the once obvious scars left there. They're subtle, but they're there. Years of healing over the top of what she assumed was a particularly dark time for you. Your hands are soft but are mildly scarred in their own right. A small scar above your wrist. A big one across the back towards your thumb.
"The town was a part of a bigger community region. The next town over was known for the museum there for one of the more famous sports folk of Australian history. There was the cricket oval in town, too. Just an average joe half rural town to live in honestly."
Her fingers continue their path around your hand, tracing the creaselines in your palm and the callus that sits just on the inside of your left pinky.
"What about your home life? What are your parents like?"
"My parents were... okay. Not great to be real with you. Hence why I'm staying with my sister rather than my parents. Kicked me out at seventeen and haven't looked me in the eye since."
She feels a small amount of anger flare up in her chest.
"Why would they do that?"
"Same cliché as any. Found out I was into girls over guys. Tried to have me cured. My sister had already moved out when this was going on. She knew they were strictly homophobic and took off the first second she could. I don't blame her for that. When they realised I wouldn't conform to their bullshit, I was kicked out. To experience the cruel harsh world, they said. The assholes just realised their children wouldn't give them biological and 'natural' grandchildren."
You roll your eyes as you remember the disgust and disappointment in your birth-giver's eyes.
"What the hell kind of parents do that to their own child? The one they're supposed to love and protect. And care for. And-"
Your hand squeezes hers, and you push the now empty plates aside to grab it with the other.
"Hey, I'm okay. Im fine. I dont miss them, and they'll never get the chance to miss who I am. They'll never get to hear about who I meet or who I'm with. I'm dead to them for all I care."
Katrina takes a small breath and uses your grasp on her hand to calm a bit before shooting you an apologetic look.
It's the first date, dude. Chill pill. So she tells herself.
Your heart swells at her protectiveness. She really was born to be a good mother.
"I hope they never get to see this side of you. Or who you are and who you'll be in five or ten years."
You blush lightly.
"Thank you." It's a soft murmur, and you duck your head slightly.
She smiles softly, and her thumb rubs at your hand.
You gesture to the worker and hand back your plates, and move to the register to pay.
There's some bickering, but after a sneaky slip of the card to the worker, you end up paying for it. Though that does earn you a soft shove and a whine when she hears the eftpos machine beep.
You chuckle softly.
"We better get going. I've got one more place for us to go, and I want to be there before complete sundown." You say lightly joking.
"Well, come on then!" She jogs ahead with a grin on her face, dragging you with her.
You play your routine part of valet and it earns you a tip, consisting of a kiss to the cheek that's far too close to the corner of your mouth and it makes you freeze for a second. She just chuckles, and you shake your head lightly and shut the door.
"It's about a half hour there, so feel free to pirate the aux cord."
You dig it out of the console and offer it to her.
"Aye aye, captain." She gives you a wink while she plugs in her phone.
You hear a familiar tune, and you immediately shoot her an impressed look.
"You, Ma'am, have amazing taste."
She smirks and nods as she starts singing along to the lyrics.
The drive passes by quickly with both of you yelling to various songs.
There's a small beach cove that opens up to a really nice view of the ocean. And it allows the sun to come down on the majorly clear water with a nice sparkle, too. You'd only come across it about a month ago, but it was a regular spot for you.
There was something else you'd wanted to do for a bit of fun, but it seems stupid now, considering her profession.
When you pull in to the driveway leading up to the spot, she gives you a funny look.
The driveway is completely surrounded by shrubbery, so it doesn't really surprise you.
She makes a joke, "Is this where I'm supposed to find out you're secretly a serial killer?"
You roll your eyes good naturedly and give her a slight push as you get out. She jumps out with you, and you both make your way up the path.
The dirt path turns to sand, and you stop, starting to take your shoes off.
"It's only getting sandier from here, so you might wanna take your shoes off."
She nudges you softly and does the same.
"Yeah, I did have another thing for us to do, but I'm afraid you'll kick my butt if we do it."
She has a mischievous look on her face.
"It was beach soccer, wasn't it?"
You smile sheepishly and give her a slight nod.
"Oh, you're on now. Go get it."
You raise a brow at her and jog to go get the ball and some mini cones.
The sun's just starting to set as you return with the stuff and a bag slung over your shoulder that you'd forgotten to grab.
Katrina's standing there staring out at the water when you walk up again. You quietly set the stuff down on the sand and move to stand next to her.
"You find places like this all the time?"
"Sometimes, it's a hit or miss kind of thing. This one was pure luck because I hadn't even meant to come down this way. It was the next street over."
"It looks amazing out here."
"Water is pretty good too."
She raises a brow in your direction but doesn't say anything. You move to set up the cones and lay out the blanket that was in the bag you had.
The moment you start, you realise how physical playing with her is. You keep up for the most part, but at one point, she wraps her arms around your waist to try and steal the ball and you both topple over, her landing sitting on you, legs either side of your hips.
The smug grin she gives you makes your heart flutter, and you lean up on your elbows.
"You give up yet, newbie?"
You give her a mock offended expression and accept the hand up she offers when she stands.
"Surrender?" You think for a few seconds.
You stride over to her, a mischievous glint in your eye. You lean down slightly and whisper in her ear. Her head tilts slightly.
"I'll think about it." At that, you take off with the ball.
"Oi, little cheater."
You cackle and try as you might to keep the ball away. She ends up stealing it from you. Her foot sits on the ball, hands on her hips as she watches you. You're practically dying at this point, huffing. Man, you needed to hit the gym more.
"Surrender yet?"
You flop onto your back onto the sand and give her a pleading hands motion.
"I think I'm dying here."
She just shakes her head at your antics and drags the blanket over to you, leaving the ball by the cones.
You both settle on the blanket, the sun finally going down enough to enjoy the view fully.
You sit, leaning back on your hands, and she does the same beside you, legs crossed.
As your breathing calms and the late afternoon breeze sets in, the waves start to crash a little more than the tiny laps at the sand that they were.
Katrina sighs softly, taking in the feel of the open air and the salty wind and the smell of harsh greenery.
The serenity of the scene put her more at ease than she'd felt in a while. She sits up a bit and shuffles closer to you, shoulder to shoulder, and nudges you softly.
"Thanks for bringing me out tonight."
You smile, "Thank you for agreeing to come out with me."
"I feel like I should be saying that."
"Maybe, but I'm the one that planned."
"I still asked first." You poke your tongue out at her cheekily, and she just laughs.
"Goof."
You clutch at invisible pearls.
"So mean."
"Oh, I'm sorry." There's a jested look on her face, and she moves to straddle you. Her hands settle on your shoulders, and yours find her hips.
You playfully huff with a half smile.
"Better be."
Her eyes flicker down to your lips, gaze darkening as the air around you shifts, your brow raised slightly when she meets your gaze again. You let out a shaky breath as her hand slides up to cup your cheek.
"Kiss me?" It's mumbled, but she still hears it.
Your lips are parted slightly.
"Don't even have to ask."
She leans down and captures your mouth with her own, and your eyes drift shut. The noise around you drifts away as your lips move together.
Her fingers tangle in your hair, tugging you closer to her, deepening the kiss slightly. One of your hands slips up to settle in the small of her back, holding her against you.
She pulls away from you with a playful nip to your bottom lip. You steal one more kiss, and her hands settle back on your shoulders, pushing you onto your back.
You raise a brow at the spark in her gaze, and she kisses you again, hands settled beside your head.
You stay there for a while. Until you're both breathless and have to come up for air.
Your pupils are dilated, and her hair is slightly mussed from you, having had your hands in it just seconds earlier. Her fingers are tracing at the hem of your shirt, just barely having dipped under the fabric to feel the skin beneath.
Her hands are cold, but they leave heated sensations where they travel along your stomach. It sends shivers down your spine, and you have to resist moving your hands where they probably shouldn't go. Not here or now, not yet.
She has the same thought and has to pull her hands back slightly, going back to settle beside your head.
Her teeth nip at your lower lip again. And you groan softly, going to kiss her again, only for her to pull away slightly, an amused look on her face.
"We're both gonna get in trouble if we stay out here any longer." You look around, noting the sun's gone down fully now, and the sky has cleared to stars, twinkling brightly.
"I forgot, we're both on curfew here."
She slaps your shoulder, a cute pout forming on her face. You kiss it away, and she groans, feeling her phone buzz in her pocket, and she pulls away again.
"Seriously, those two will kill me if I don't get home before ten. They hate being left alone with each other for too long, I have to play referee to keep them from fighting after a while. They love each other, but they get along about as well as sisters do. Plus, Harper is most likely loaded up on ten tonnes of sugar, so I'll be putting her to bed after that, too."
You chuckle, nodding in understanding.
"Mine's gonna report me missing if I don't get home soon too."
Katrina reluctantly gets off you, and you both pack up the gear and walk back to the car, shoes in hand.
The drive back is pretty quiet but peaceful. There's music playing softly in the background.
Your linked hands sit in her lap for most of the drive, and you get an occasional hum out of her as you sing softly along.
You get her home at about 9:30pm, having stopped halfway back to raid an ice cream freezer in a servo and some more kissing in the carpark. Almost reminding you of your teenage years, sneaking around kissing girls in the back of your parents' jeep.
Only this one feels a lot more passionate. Permanent. There's a lot more emotion behind each brush of her lips against yours, and it leaves you aching for more. To feel her pressed into you.
"I'd let you walk me to the door, but I'm afraid Charlie might actually interrogate us both."
It's only half joking this time. Knowing by now, that was well true.
"Let you out with a kiss goodnight instead?"
Her breath is ragged. "Please?"
Katrina's feels like she's addicted to your kisses at this point. A breath of fresh air. Your touch sends tingles through every nerve ending in her body.
You get out of the car, and when you open the door, she hops out and grabs you by the shirt, pulling you down into her, and smashes her lips on yours.
You steady the both of you, one arm leaning against the door frame, the other around her waist while her fingers tangle in your hair.
You finally pull away, leaving one last peck to her lips and a dazed look on both of you.
"Message me when you get home safe?"
"Of course."
She smiles and slowly steps away from you, hands slipping off your shoulders with a lingering squeeze.
"Good night, hot stuff."
"Good night, sleep well gorgeous. Give Harps a hug for me."
She nods and turns back to the house. The door slamming open makes her jump.
"Excuse me, young lady, you're one minute past ten 'o' clock. Why are you late?"
Her face flushes red, and she groans.
"Charlie, I swear to god."
The blonde just shakes her fist at you, still leaning against your car as you watch her go inside. A small smirk appears on your face as you wave to both of them and get back in, driving off.
Katrina brushes past the girl, and she calls out after her.
"You're so grounded"
She rolls her eyes, and as she goes upstairs to find Kyra and Harper, she can't drop the giddy grin on her face as she bids Kyra good night and puts Harper to bed.

I was the anon that requested the Charli fic I loved it would love a Katrina gorry fic also if you write for her
Ask and you shall receive (I’m not kidding guys when you send a request I will most likely do it, I only won’t if I don’t physically find them attractive or don’t know the player well enough to write it fluidly)
okay but here is my beautiful mini.
Tumblr media
plot: y/n had only joined the Matilda’s about a year before mini left to have her baby and she was her biggest supporter through it all, well until you get transferred to Chelsea
warnings: pregnancy, idiots, and I’m not sure what else, timeline doesn’t add up but deal with it
Tumblr media
“Thankyou Tong for this opportunity I won’t let you or the team down I promise” you smiled into the face time which Tony nodded at “Well you’ve been an important necessity for this team for a couple of years now so I don’t imagine you wouldn’t” he laughed and you joined him.
“I’ll let you get to it now, I have some many more calls to make” he said as you nodded, thinking to the younger players in the team “I’ll let you get to it” you smiled and ended the face time.
“Was that Tony?” Katrina asked from behind you and you nodded “wants me to play for the next camp, which you in a few months time should be able to play” you cheered as she held her very pregnant stomach.
“It would have been another year if I didn’t have you” she smiled and you playfully rolled your eyes “please I just say here and looked pretty most of the time”.
“Yeah you did” she confirmed and you blushed, you weren’t sure when you started to have feelings for the midfielder, you were actually quite scared of her when you had your first call up for the Matilda’s and then she left to have Harper and you put your hand out to help, you loved the closest after all.
“I do have a question for you actually” Katrina said as she sat next to you on the couch “shoot” you smiled “how come it took you so long to join the Matilda’s, I know for a fact you have been called up many times before you finally joined”
You shrugged your shoulders “I had terrible anxiety in my early 20’s” you admitted “as you know my family weren’t the best at encouraging me after I came out” you said and Katrina nodded.
She knew about your family problems after a night where you maybe had a few too many at your stay at home New Year’s Eve.
“So I never thought I could do our country well enough” you said and Katrina moved her hands from her bump and onto your hands “You were and still are now, Jesus do you remember how the media blew up after your debut” she asked and you shook your head with a smile
“It was a bit funny” you shrunk your fingers “A hatric against Canada” Katrina almost yelled as she squeezed your hands.
“Yeah which you assisted two out of the three times” you said “I know I am pretty good” she said with a smirk and you rolled your eyes “okay now” you laughed and tried to walk away but Katrina pulled you back down again.
You looked down at her with a smile and she was looking up at you with eyes you’ve never seen before “you are amazing y/n” she said and her eyes darted down to your lips as you did to hers.
You couldn’t control yourself, not when she looked so beautiful.
You leaned in slowly before Katrina took the initiative and put her lips on yours.
It wasn’t rushed and it wasn’t crazy, it was nice and lustful but then you remembered and pulled away.
“What?” Katrina asked softly and you dropped your head “I haven’t been honest to you, I was planning to tell you soon but I just haven’t had the chance and-“
“Y/n what is it?” Katrina asked again as she lifted your head up with her fingers “Chelsea has offered me a spot on their team” you admitted and Katrina nodded her head “then take it” she said
“What?” You asked “Chelsea is amazing” Katrina said as she got up “But Chelsea is in London, you’re here”
Katrina looked away “but it’s better for you, I’ll have Harper with me, I’ll be fine” she said as she tried to hide the tears welling up in her eyes, you didn’t hide them well as they started to roll down your cheeks slowly.
“You- you want me to leave?” You asked
“I want you to do what is best for your career and chelsea is that, Melbourne city isn’t doing anything for you, Chelsea will make you a known name, just like Sam” she said and you rolled your eyes “what if I don’t want to go”
Katrina scoffed “then your stupid”
“Am I stupid for wanting to stay here and look after you and Harper?” You asked bitterly “yes” Katrina said, still refusing to look at you “Harper is mine” she stated “always has been you were just near and you decided to help me”
“Okay” you said as you stood up “I’ll go tell Emma” your croak in your voice evident to Katrina that you had been crying “you do that” she said as she wiped her eyes, you stayed still for a moment hoping that Katrina would ask you to stay but she didn’t, she stood still.
“Fine” you whispered before going to your ‘guest room’ that you actually hadn’t slept in for weeks as you slept in Katrina’s bed.
When you left Katrina finally turned around, tears running down her eyes as she kept her hands on her bump.
You packed as Katrina turned on the TV, watching a show that she didn’t care about, she just wanted to look like she wasn’t affected by you leaving.
When you finished, you went into the room “I’m leaving” you stated and she kept her eyes on the TV, scoffing you grabbed the remote and turned it off.
“I was watching that” Katrina complained “I’m staying with my parents, then I’m getting on a plane to London, I’ll stay with Sam and then I’ll get my own place I- I” you stopped “I don’t know why you’re so okay with this!” You yelled “because I care about you!” Katrina shot back
You sniffed as she rose “I care about you and that’s why you need to leave, go to Chelsea become a world known name, you can’t stay here and look after a child, it’s too much of a distraction”
“That is not your decision to make for me” you told her and she stepped forward “trust me y/n, you don’t want this”
Your eyes were watering again “just” you started “just let me kiss you one last time” you whispered and Katrina finally let her tears fall on her face as she stepped closer to you until her faces were inches apart.
She nodded before you grabbed the sides of her face and pushed her towards you, your lips melted together as you both tasted the salt from each others tears
“I love you” you admitted as you left your forehead on hers “you have to go” she said back and you sobbed and nodded “okay”.
When you once met again, it was about a year later against your national game against New Zealand, you were trying out your New players on the pitch and you still couldn’t believe that she had come back to play.
The first thing you noticed when she walked in was the young toddler that she held in her arms, “Harper” you breathed out as the little girl looked at you and pointed.
“Sorry” Katrina laughed before looking at you again “She’s seen some pictures of you before and now she’s finally seeing you in real life”
You had no reaction to the words as you stated at Harper “hey Harps” you smiled and walked closer to her “Katrina watched carefully as she took your emotions in, she saw your eyes and how they started to gloss over.
She was partially to blame of course, she practically kicked you out after you had helped her for 8 out of 9 months of her pregnancy.
“Do you want to hold her?” Katrina softly asked and you nodded “yes please” you said and Katrina smiled sadly “here” she passed her over and you held her perfectly.
Katrina had to stop her eyes from watering as you remembered the ways to hold a child as she remembered you searching it up when she was still pregnant.
Harper seemed to have clung on to you immediately before her snores filled the room.
“She’s gorgeous” you told her “just like her mumma” you smiled and Katrina blushed.
“It was silent again before she spoke up “I’m getting transferred” she piped up “that’s amazing” you smiled and she nodded “where?” You asked “west ham” she said and you tried to hide your happiness at her answer.
“So I’ll finally see you at the wsl” you smirked proudly “yeah I’m excited” she said and you merely nodded.
“I’m excited too”

Best friend's girlfriend| Sam and Colby x reader
You, Sam and Colby were friends from school. Even back in Kansas, but eventually you started to grow apart. However a few years passed and you and Colby got in touch again and became close. In fact so close that you started dating.
Dating Colby meant seeing Sam a lot as well of course. You were currently on the couch in their living room cuddling with Colby, sharing soft small kisses.
Sam passed by saying hi and glancing at you for a few seconds. You had no idea he was in love with you since high school and it really pained him seeing you with Colby, his best friend. He and Katrina broke up a while ago and seeing you so often brought back the old feelings.
You went to a bunch of investigations with them as well. Always very participant and willing to test your limits. You were like Sam in this sense. Which meant you were the one sitting in the devil's chair this time as you went to Zach's museum again. You had the headphones on doing the Estes method in the chair. Sam was asking questions.
“ Is someone here with us?”
“ Yes”
“ Do you recognize us? We were here before”
“ You…almost…mine “
That scared them. Because Sam had an intense session there and probably wasn't too far from being possessed.
“ Have you.. have you been trying to posses me back then?”
“That was a deep laugh.”
“ You can't touch or hurt any of us you do not have permission to do anything”
“ Need it.. don't…secret…love..her.. Sam!”
Both boys looked at each other scared and confused, before pulling you out of the chair. You were shaking and barely able to stand, Sam had to hold you so you wouldn't fall and as Colby went to hold you instead, he let go with a soft sigh. No you didn't belong to him, you belonged to his best friend.
It took a few months before the first big argument between you and Colby happened. You were upset that he still didn't confirm to people you were his girlfriend and he didn't show it. And you understood for a while but now it kinda made you sad. Especially with Stas being around Colby a lot and you were getting jealous.
“ It's not that easy!”
“ Why not?! Sam could say he has a girlfriend, do videos with her and you can't?”
“ Because it's different with me, the fan's would go crazy”
“ So what? I don't give a fuck about what they think I want to proudly say you're mine and I'm yours.”
That was the basics of the argument with little things just adding to it. After a lot of screaming and crying you walked out of the house, you needed to be alone.
When you came back to the house you went upstairs, but instead of going left to Colby's room you went right, knocking on the door before opening it.
“ Hey, can I come in?” …
Part two?

TW: injury (the dreaded 3 letters), fluff
2023 World Cup. Home soil. Co-captain with the love of your life. Playing in your hometown Stadium is one thing but playing a World Cup there? It's a whole other dream come true.
Sitting next to Sam, your knee is bouncing uncontrollably. She put her hand on your thigh and gives it a light squeeze, silently asking if you're okay. You nod and plant a soft kiss on her cheek. The starting lineup including you and Sam start to walk out to meet your mascots. You look around and everyone has theirs except you. A small tap on your thigh forces you to look down at your mascot. It’s none other than your mini me aka your niece Athena. You pick up the smiling and now excited to-year-old and kiss her squishy, chubby cheeks.
"You win Aunt y/n/n?"
"Not yet princess, Aunt Sammy has to score some goals first"
Sam turns around before giving your your niece multiple kisses.
You nudge Sam to start walking out and the roaring of the fans brought a wide smile to your face. Lining up, Athena starts bouncing on your hip in excitement. After the national anthem, you give Athena back to your sister and start to get prepped for the game. Your job back to the team just in time to hear Sam's pep talk.
"1...2...3... TILLIES!"
You and Sam do your quick handshake before you jog to midfield alongside Katrina and Kyra. The whistle starts and the battle for third place begins. Sweden have come in strong but you and your midfield trio have held your own. So far, Rolfö and Asilani have been targeting you and every time you get up, Sam looks more pissed than before. Around 30 minutes into the second half is where things went wrong. Recovering the ball from Stina was fine, it was the popping sound in your left knee that wasn't.
Screaming as you went down immediately saw the ref blow her whistle. Medics rushed to you, only for Sam to beat them. Same place your head in her lap as the medics touched around the rapidly swelling area.
"Even if it is what we think, I'll be there every step of the way"
Sam helped you off the field, with a standing ovation from the crowd and players. Sam turns back to the game and stomps over to Stina.
"What the fuck is your problem huh? She's injured because of you. You injured your teammates and the best midfielder in the game! I hope you're happy with yourself"
Stina looks visibly scared and your teammates push Sam away before she got herself carded. Sam made at her personal mission to win this game for you, even if that meant doing a few extra slide tackles and shoulder pushes. The final whistle blows after extra time and Sam is speechless. You watch on the small tv as Sam is in full blown tears and the medic said you can go out to the field.
Hopping down the hallways, you see the familiar entryway to the field. Taking your time, you finally get to the grass and you start looking for your short ponytailed beauty. Stina notices you looking around and decides to quickly apologise before Sam scares her off again. The poor girl was on the verge of tears until you reassured her it was nothing she did. You lock eyes with Sam and said your goodbyes to Stina.
You both meet halfway and Sam pulled you into a tight hug, burying her face in your neck. Crutches dropped to the floor, you gave back and even tighter hug as you hear what Sam's mumbling.
"Hey, look at me"
You almost whisper, holding Sam's face in your hands.
"You gave it your all and that's what matters. I love you through all the wins, losses, draws, fourth places. We've done this country so proud okay?"
Sam looks down at your knee and nods slowly.
"I love you too, I'll be here through it all. I'll take some personal leave"
You argue back-and-forth but decided she can take two weeks off. Sam turns around and squats down a little picking up the crutches.
"Jump on. I think there's some fans that want to say thank you to their hometown hero"
You roll your eyes and hop on the slightly older girls back.
You see your teammates first before doing a lap of honour. Right at the end, Sam stops just before a little boy with your jersey on. You direct Sam over and hop down, still leaning on Sam.
"Hey buddy, cool jersey you have on there"
"Y-you my favourite. I wanna be you when I’m older"
You pout at the cuteness at the boy who couldn't be older than 4. You decide in the moment to give the boy your jersey. You take it off and someone gives you a marker. You write a sweet message on it before giving it to him. His mum asked for a photo and of course you say yes. The boy thanks you numerous times and you give him a hug before leaving.
Sam comes back and put a jacket on you before carrying you to the locker room. She said she down at your cubby, which is next to hers, and gives you a look.
"i'm fine babe, really. Are you okay?"
Sam shrugs her shoulders and looks at you.
"I dunno. I wanted to win for you and I failed"
Sam hangs her head, looking at her boots. She hold back tears and you scoot closer to her the best you can.
"You didn't fail me baby. Every game you play for a club or country makes me so unbelievably proud of you. You can never fail in my eyes Sam"
Without warning, Sam pulled you into a bruising kiss, with your teammates wolf whistling and fake gagging.
"Marry me?"
Sam whispers as your foreheads touch.
"A million times yes my love"
“Now let’s get that knee better Mrs Kerr”
“MRS KERR?!”

baby blues || c.b.
summary: when you tell colby you're pregnant, he gives you a reaction you definitely weren't expecting.
shoutout to my sweets @brocksblueroses for the prompt idea. <3
you and colby had been together for a number of years, and at this point had already started talking about marriage and children. it was something that you both wanted. however, you and him were currently in very busy stages of your life, and really didn't have time at the moment.
despite that, you and him were definitely not taking the necessary precautions to prevent pregnancy.
"holy shit." you said with a sigh, staring down at the positive pregnancy test in your hands. this was the third pregnancy test you'd taken in two days, all of them coming back positive.
you quietly stepped out of the bathroom and maneuvered around the house. you found katrina in the living room, sitting on the couch. you caught her attention and waved her up to you. you led her into the bathoom and she stopped in her tracks when she saw the pregnancy tests on the counter.
"shut up." she said, gasping as she saw that they were all positive. "y/n!" she squealed, turning to you with a wide smile on her face.
"i can't believe this." you said quietly as she held you in a hug. "what am i gonna tell colby?" you asked, the reality starting to set in.
"the truth? y/n, he loves you. he's gonna be excited about this. i know youve been talking about having kids at some point." she said, squeezing your shoulders. you pulled away and looked up at her, tears starting to well.
"yeah, but not this soon. we don't have the time for this right now." you sighed.
"you'll make the time. it'll work out." she said, hugging you again.
a few days passed since you took your last pregnancy test. you'd gone to the doctor just to confirm, and make sure everything was on the up and up. fortunately, it was.
when you came home that afternoon, katrina had a celebratory spread laid out on the counter. cake, treats, snacks, and sparkling water, a bouquet of congratulatory balloons sat in the middle of everything.
"what's all this?" you asked, walking over to her in the kitchen.
"we're celebrating! i know it's just the four of us here, but you deserve to be celebrated. you and colby both." she said. you flinched at the mention of his name.
"right." you sighed.
"you still haven't told him?" she asked, and you just shook your head.
"im scared!" you whisper yelled.
"well, you have about thirty seconds to get over that." she said, and you raised a brow at her. "boys! come downstairs!" she called.
"katrina! what the fuck!" you said, your heart racing in your chest.
"fifteen." she said, handing you a flute of sparkling water.
"what's all this?" sam asked as he and colby moved into the kitchen.
"what are we celebrating?" colby asked, moving to stand next to you. his arm wrapped around your shoulders as he took a flute of sparkling water into his hand.
"well," you said, taking a deep breath. you pulled out of colby's arms and reached into your purse, pulling out the positive pregnancy tests, placing them into his hand. "i'm pregnant." you said softly.
you heard sam gasp, but your gaze was locked on colby. you watched as his eyes widened. his mouth had fallen open, and his brows were furrowed.
"c'mon, lets give them a minute." katrina said, taking sam upstairs.
"tell me what you're thinking. what you're feeling." you said, moving closer to him.
"you're messing with me. these aren't real." he said, tossing them on the counter with a huff.
"yes, they're real. this isn't something i would joke with you about." he said.
"we don't have the time for this right now! i have way too much on my plate and there's no way i can add this to the mix."
"you think i haven't been busy too? you think that i don't know that we don't really have the time for this?" you shot back. "why are you acting like this? we've talked about this being something that we wanted, but you're acting like you wanna take it all back."
"that's not what i said."
"actions speak louder than words, babe. and your actions are yelling at me right now. you and i both know that we weren't doing everything we could to prevent this, so it was bound to happen eventually."
"i'm not dealing with this right now. or with you." he spat before storming off upstairs. you watched as he walked into his room, slamming the door behind him. you flinched as it sounded, the tears finally spilling over.
you grabbed your keys and your purse, running out of the front door. you heard katrina calling out for you but you didn't stop. you pulled out of the driveway and sped down the street. you didn't know where you were going, but you knew you couldn't stay in that house.
your phone was buzzing in the cupholder next to you, phone calls and text messages coming through from katrina and sam. you ignored them and continued driving. you finally pulled over, the tears becoming too much to see through.
you grabbed your phone, bypassing the messages, and scrolled to the message thread with your sister. you tapped on her icon to call her, her immediatley answering.
"hey, are you home? can i come over?" you asked, trying to hide the lump in your throat.
"yes, im here. come over." she said, without hesitation. you knew she could hear the sadness in your voice.
once you arrived at your sister’s, she answered the door with your nephew on her hip. the sight of them made you start sobbing on her porch. she immediately pulled you into her arms and hugged you tight before leading you inside. you sat on her couch sobbing into your hands before she spoke.
“y/n, talk to me. whats going on?” she asked.
“im pregnant.” you said, sitting up and wiping your face.
“honey, thats great! but why does it seem like youre less than excited about that.”
“colby had not such a great reaction to it when i told him.” you said, sniffling and holding back the tears that were threatening to fall again.
“oh no. i thought you guys wanted this? what did he say?” she asked.
you told her about the events that took place prior before you arrived.
“i know he’s stressed and work has been busy for him. for both of us.  but he made seem like he didn't want this anymore. it made me feel like he didn’t want me anymore.” you sighed.
“y/n, no. that's not true. that boy is head over heels in love with you. if he told you that he wanted to have a kid with you, then he means it. i do agree that he couldn't have taken his stress out on you, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want you. or want this with you. give him, and yourself, time to cool off before talking about it.” she said.
you ended up spending the rest of the evening with your sister, hanging out with her and playing with your nephew.
a few days passed before you and colby saw each other again. he had been texting you incessantly, but you weren’t ready to talk to him just yet.
“colby, what hell is wrong with you?” katrina asked him as she and sam sat with him on the couch. “that girl loves you and wants nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with you. and i know you want that too. now that its finally happening for you, you wanna throw it all away?”
“no, i dont wanna throw it all away. i want to be a father. i want to marry y/n. i love her more than anyone or anything in this world. i was having a bad day and took that out on her, and i know i shouldn’t have. but now she’s ignoring my calls and my texts, im afraid i fucked this up beyond repair.”
“well, it looks like you're gonna have to do more than that. prove to her that you’re ready for this.” katrina said to him.
and with that, he sprung into action. he got dressed and drove to the store. flowers, candy, and the biggest teddy bear he could find.
“hopefully these will help.” he said to himself after leaving the store. he drove to your apartment, taking a deep breath before knocking on the door.
you answered the door and inhaled sharply when you saw him standing outside.
“what are you doing here?” you asked quietly.
“can i come in?” he asked, chin resting on the top of the teddy bear’s head. you nodded and ushered him in, watching as he walked over to the living room. you stood there quietly before he spoke again.
“baby’s first teddy.” he said softly, waving the paw at you. you stared at him, suddenly overcome with emotion. you ran over to him, the teddy bear fell to the floor as his arms opened to accept your hug.
“i love you so much.” you said, your voice muffled by his chest.
“i love you so much.” colby repeated, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. he pushed you away and held your face in his hands, thumbs running across your cheeks. “we need to talk.”
you nodded and followed him over to the couch. he took your hands in his, pressing a kiss to each of them.
“y/n, i am so incredibly sorry. i know that i hurt you, and im so incredibly sorry for that. i was having a bad day, and i’ve been so overwhelmed with everything. but i know that doesn’t excuse how i spoke to you.”
“i appreciate your apology. emotions were high and we both kinda let them blow up.” you sighed, and colby nodded in agreement. “i hate that we let things happen like that, but your reaction made me feel like shit.”
“i know, and i’m sorry. i felt like shit after you left. i didn’t leave my room for two days.”
“i’ve been cooped up here for two days.” you laughed. you turn to face him completely, taking his hands in yours. “but we’re together now. how are we feeling?” you asked.
“nervous. excited. every emotion all at once.” he said, and you nodded in agreement. you reached towards your purse and rifled through it, pulling out your printed ultrasound from your doctor’s visit.
“there’s our baby.” you said, pointing out the tiny little dot that your doctor identified as your baby.
colby was speechless. you watched as his eyes started watering, a look of joy spreading across his face. this was the reaction you wanted to get from him.
“oh my god. i can’t believe we’re going to be parents.” he said softly, his gaze locked on the paper in his hands. you lifted his chin to meet your gaze again.
“and you’re really ready for this? this is something we both want, right?” you asked him.
“more than anything. y/n, i love you, and having a baby is something we already talked about wanting. i know it’s not an ideal time right now, for either of us. but we’ll make it work. i love you and i could never live with myself knowing that i let you go through this alone.” he said. you could fell the sincerity behind his words, and you were beyond happy to know that you were about to embark on the biggest adventure of your relationship.
later that night, you and colby were still in your apartment, getting ready for bed. you were laying down in bed, already starting to fall asleep, when you felt the mattress shift. you opened your eyes, and saw colby’s head next to your belly, the palm of his hand pressing against it.
“hi baby. this is your daddy. i don’t know if you can hear me yet, but i hope you know that your mommy and i are already so excited to see you. it’s been a crazy few days, adjusting to the news of your arrival, but we can’t wait until you’re here with us, and we can hold you and see you.” he spoke softly, his lips pressing just above your belly button.
he moved to the head of the bed, situating on his pillows. you rolled over to face him, moving to press a kiss to his lips.
“you’re gonna be a great dad.” you said softly.
“you’re gonna be a great mom.” he said with a smile, kissing you again.
you both made yourself comfortable in bed, colby’s arms tight around your waist, your back flush to his chest. you felt yourself get misty as a small tear ran down your cheek.
this was going to be huge adjustment, but you knew that you and colby were up to the task. you knew that, as long as you were together, you and colby were going to be great parents, and you were gonna raise a great kid.

Hey, can you do one where reader is easily scared and after long persuading finally agrees to go exploring with Sam & Colby and during exploring Sam scares her for fun/content and she gets super scared and starts crying/gets a panic atack and Colby gets very mad at Sam and comforts her and calms her down and it ends good/fluffy?
I kinda let this one get away from me. But I like how it turned out. I hope it’s okay and not too..much?
Fear - (c.b)
Pairing: Colby Brock x fem!reader
Warnings: blood, swearing, murder?
If you asked anyone, and I mean anyone, they would tell you my most evident personality trait was that I was startled easily. I was a red panda in human form. Then again, that’s what happens when at the age of seven a strange man finds his way into your home and creates one of the worst memories you’ll ever have. No, not a memory. A stain. I don’t like to think of it as a memory. Memories are meant to be good and that night was the beginning of a very long road to recovery.
I wouldn’t say it was an experience that set in stone who I was as a person but after that night I was always weary of the shadows. Never knowing what, or who, lurked in them.
I met Colby when I turned seventeen. He was just graduating high school and his career was taking off with vine. Although people said we were kindred souls and seemed attached at the hip, I couldn’t help but notice how he was this ray of light and I stuck to the shadows. Keep your enemies close, right? Even if they are dark corners or pitch black alleys that leave a pit in your stomach.
When Colby moved out to California with Sam, I followed. My mom had fallen into a dark spiral after that night and I had nothing anchoring me to Kansas with Colby leaving. He was my lifeline and I wasn’t ready to let go yet. So I stuck beside him through the different styles and creations he went through with his channel while the boys were discovering who they were. Eventually love found it’s way in. The late night talks were no longer just hushed words but sweet confessions and the lingering stares meant much more.
Finally, after months and months of different videos, Colby and Sam opted into testing out the investigation of the supernatural. And it fit. Suddenly the mood was lighter and the boys were content with what they were creating and publishing every video.
When Sam would ask Katrina to accompany them to the next haunted location, I could feel Colby’s eyes burning into the back of my head. I would never discourage him from what he loved to do but he knew how I felt about the paranormal and I knew how he felt about me tagging along. He wanted me to be a part of that portion of his life just as much as Kat was in Sam’s. Needless to say with every new location came a new argument. It was always the same. Colby begging me to just give a chance and then my immediate refusal.
He knew I was afraid of the dark. More so whatever was in it.
It didn’t stop there. He continued to ask every so often in different ways. Eventually it wasn’t even questioning. He would say ‘the Stanley has a nice little shop that sells crystals. I know you like those.’ in an attempt to peak my interest and finally after months of attempts, I gave in. My heart fluttered when I saw how big his smile was that day. How he pulled me into the tightest hug he could with an unspoken ‘I love you’.
Standing in front of Waverly Hills Sanatorium my heart was beating rapidly in my chest and my mind full of regret. I clung tightly to the jacket that was wrapped around my middle as Colby dug through the trunk with Sam. A soft tap on my shoulder tore me out of my thoughts and I reluctantly looked away from the intimidating building in front of me.
“I’ve been on tons of these. Nothing really bad has ever really happened.” Katrina said in attempts to reassure me. She squeezed my shoulder lovingly before turning around and walking back to the boys who were still looking in the trunk. I sighed heavily through my nose and made my way to Colby who was checking a few items to make sure the lights worked correctly.
“You promise this will be okay?” He looked up at my words and sat the instruments down before placing his hands gently on my upper arms. “You just know how I feel about these places and I’m already nervous about going in there and-“ he cut me off with a short kiss.
“I promise everything will be okay. You know I would never let anything hurt you.” Sucking my lip between my teeth I nibbled gently on the skin. He moved his hand to my chin and rubbed gently under my my newly attacked lip. “Don’t hurt your lip, baby.” With a heavy sigh, I release my lip and follow his actions with my eyes as he leans back down to grab the rest of the tools. As I followed closely behind the others into the old and worn down building that night so many years ago crept into my head.
Dad laughed loudly with his head thrown back as he held my mother close. The Christmas tree was illuminating the room with shades of pinks, blues, oranges, and reds as ‘A Christmas Story’ played quietly on the TV. Natalia was asleep on the couch beside me with her head resting in my lap and her soft snores filling the quiet space around us.
As the movie came to a close I saw dad kiss mom on the lips before standing up and walking in my direction. He lifted Natalia off the couch and ushered me off to bed. The night quickly grew silent as I laid there in bed too excited for Santa to be coming. Any minute now he would be here. As if he could hear my thoughts, I heard a soft thud coming from downstairs. My heart rate accelerated at the thought of catching Santa dropping off our presents so I shut my eyes and pretended to sleep. That was until a blood curdling scream rang out through the house.
Even at seven years old your mind knows when something is wrong. But your decision making skills still have a few years before you can justify the decisions you make. I hop out of the bed and sneak to my bedroom door. The house is quiet now. All I can hear now is my heavy breathing as I place my ear against the door. For a few moments it’s quiet. Until I hear rapid footsteps increasing in my direction. My eyes widen and I quickly look around the room for somewhere, anywhere to hide. Bed? No. Too easy. Curtains? Don’t be stupid. Closet? Yes! There’s a hidden hutch in the back that if you don’t know it’s there you’ll miss it. As quietly as I can I race to the closet and to the back under the clothes where the board is. I remove it quickly and just I place it back I hear my bedroom door open.
Seconds feel like hours as I force myself to steady my breathing. By now I’m shaking. I can hear whoever it is rummaging through my bedroom trying to find something. Trying to find me. After awhile it goes quiet but I don’t dare move, I know better. So I stay there until I see the sun peeking through the bottom of the board and I slowly crawl out. The birds are chirping outside but the house is deathly still. With every step I take towards my parents room my hands shake even more. I turn the knob and when I open the door my stomach drops.
I don’t know how long I’ve stood there before I’m racing to the bathroom and leaning over the toilet emptying the contents of my stomach. Silent tears roll down my cheeks as try to erase the picture of my father from my mind. That’s when I noticed the red splotches on the bathtub. My stomach twists at the sight and I slowly rise to my feet before looking over the edge of the tub. When my eyes land on Natalia I feel like headed. The stench in the air is suddenly all I can notice. I quickly retreat from the bathroom and head towards the stairs. When I near the top of them the door and opens and my heart drops. He’s back. He’s come back to finish the job. But that doesn’t happen. Standing in front of me is my mother who places her keys in the bowl beside the door that sits on a table. Her smile is usually infectious but now I can’t bear to see it. She shakes her coat off her shoulders and places it on the hook before looking in my direction. When her eyes land on me she gasps.
“What happened?”
I shake the thought from my head as we trudge deeper into the building. Once we’re at the heart of the location Colby and Sam begin to set up a few things. Katrina is in her own world eyeing all the rooms with wonder. I stand a few feet away with my arms close to my body. I keep my eyes trained on Colby like I’m afraid to look around. To some extent, I am. Colby might not know it and I wouldn’t dare tell him but I couldn’t help but notice the dark figure lurking in one of the abandoned rooms as we walked passed.
That’s the thing about trauma. As you recover they teach you ways to cope. Ways to decipher what’s real and what’s not. Even years after my father and sister’s murders there are times where I can’t tell the two apart. Every hooded man on the street is the monster that slain them Christmas Eve while we slept in our beds and my mother was committing another crime. It was normal for my mind to play tricks on me and although Colby wasn’t around when it happened, he quickly adapted to my needs.
“You still with us, buttercup?” Colby’s voice dripped of honey as he spoke. He was always so sweet to me, even when he didn’t need to be.
“Yeah. What are we doing?” Colby glanced over at Sam with a look of uncertainty before stepping towards me and gently taking my elbow in his hand.
“Sam wants us to split up.” I shrugged and tugged my bottom lip between my teeth again.
“Okay. So us then Sam and Kat?” He shook his head. “Then who?” He sighed heavily and used his free hand to brush my hair out of my face and behind my ear.
“We’re gonna go off on our own.” My eyes widen at his words and I immediately shaky my head. “Just listen-“
“No, Colby. You already know I’m scared out of my mind being here. If I go off on my own I’ll probably have a heart attack and then you’ll be reaching out to me with your ouija boards and shit.” I knew I was being dramatic. If there really was an afterlife, or if ghost were real, how could my dad have not reached out?
“It’ll only be for half an hour. Tops.” My bottom lip is raw now from the constant chewing and I sigh heavily. If I don’t do this, I’ll ruin their video.
“Fine. Half an hour.” We all go our separate ways with a different camera. I turn mine on and begin recording. “I would just like to reiterate that I think this is a dumb idea. You never split up in horror movies. Well, they do. Which is the problem.” I hear a thud from a room in front of me and hold my breath. “Did you hear that?” My heart is already hammering in my chest as I continue forward. “I’m not brave enough for this which is why I’m talking to you.” I say looking at the camera. “At least if I die, you’ll have my last moments captured on camera. Hopefully my last words are something cool.” Another thud. “Is someone there?” I ask to the openness around me. My eyes are starting to brim with tears and I quickly blink them away before looking down at the camera. “I’m not about to cry in front of you guys.” I continue down the hallway and just as I’m about to round the corner I hear a soft whisper behind me. “Guys.” I say softly to the camera. By now I’m shitting myself. I’m shaking life a leaf.
“Ring a round the Rosie, A pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all fall,” there’s a soft pause between the creepy sing song music before I feel a breath on my neck. “Down!” I let out a scream and the camera falls from my hands. The tears begin to fall as I start to crawl backwards covering my eyes with arms.
“No!” I cry out as I feel my back hit the wall. “Leave me alone!” My breaths come short and fast as I wave my arms in attempt to keep myself safe. “No!” My cheeks are stained now and I don’t dare look up. My head feels like at the lack of oxygen and I feel my eyelids growing heavy.
“What the hell?” I don’t register the voice immediately due to the haze I am but when I feel hands on me I’m pulled out of it as I let out another scream. “What did you do?” The voice is full of anger.
“It was just a joke, Colby. We were just trying to get some good content for the video. We didn’t know she would react like this.” Another voice piped up. The hands that are on my body are gentle.
“Can I touch you?” I don’t know if they’re questioning me but I nod. Whoever this is isn’t a threat and I need help calming down before I pass out. “I’m gonna put your hand on my chest, okay? I need you to match my breathing. Can you do that for me?” My eyes are closed but I nod in response. I feel the heavy rise and fall of their chest and I attempt to mimic it. “Good. Just focus on my breathing.” As I focus on the rising and falling my mind drifts to the blueness of Colby’s eyes. How they remind me of the ocean. How deep and vast it is and suddenly I’m grounded. I open my eyes and there are those blue eyes. “I’m right here.” I let out a sob and throw my arms around his shoulders. He’s quiet but I can feel him softly rubbing circles into my back. When I open my eyes I examine the room, from Sam and Kat who are stood with faces full of guilt, to the broken camera on the ground next to us.
“Oh, Colby!” My lip trembles again at the realization I broke his camera and he shakes his head before ‘sh’ing me.
“It’s okay. I’m not mad at you.” He says putting emphasis on the you. Sam shifts his weight and I glance up at them with teary eyes.
“Why?” Katrina won’t even look me in the eyes and Sam is focused on his shoes.
“We wanted good content for the video and Kat has already been in so many. Since it was your first video it was kinda just-“
“A hazing thing?” I ask and Sam shrugs. I know he feels bad because I’ve been friend with him just as long as I’ve been friends with Colby. The only difference? I left Sam in the dark about what happened to my family.
“You knew how hard I fought to get her to be in a video and you do this? She’s never gonna be in one again. You realize that right?” Colby is fuming. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done?” Sam is still confused. He doesn’t understand why a simple prank would cause a full on meltdown and although it was in poor taste, it’s not entirely his fault. “Seriously, man! Use your brain.”
“I’m sorry, Colby. We were just trying to have some fun.” Sam argues.
“Fun? You’ve been her friend as long as I have. You know she scares easily and you also know she has panic attacks. Hell, you’ve been there for a few. What would make you think this was a good idea?” Sam shrugs again.
“We were banking on her getting scared, Colby. We didn’t know she would react that way.” He pauses and looks over at me. “I’m sorry. If we knew, you know we wouldn’t have done this.” He looks back to Colby. “You’re her boyfriend. You know more than we do. You know more than I do even being her best friend. Let’s just finish this and go to the hotel.” Colby scoffs before rising to his feet and helping me up.
“No. You can finish this and I’ll take her to the hotel so she can relax. After that I’m not letting her stay another minute here.” Colby takes my hand and pushes passed Sam who gives me an awkward smile. “I can’t believe him!” Colby says once we’re safely in the car.
“He didn’t know.” He huffs.
“He doesn’t need to know. That’s the problem. He knows how much I wanted you to come and he pulls a silly prank that sends you into a full on panic attack.” I can tell he’s still angry by the way he clutches onto the wheel. His knuckles are a ghostly white and his jaw is clenched so tight I’m worried for his teeth.
“It’s not his fault he doesn’t know my family was murdered. Aside from the people that saw it in the paper seventeen years ago, I don’t think a lot of people do.” It’s silent for a few moments before I speak again. “I’m sorry.” Colby’s grip loosens and he looks over at me quickly.
“Why are you sorry?”
“You have to deal with all this. You shouldn’t have to and I’m just sorry.” Colby pulls off the main road and puts the car in park before turning his body towards me and taking my hand.
“You are not a burden to me. I love you and everything that comes with you.” I go to speak but he quickly cuts me off. “What ever that may be. No matter what that may be.” He presses a gentle hand against the side of my neck and leans closer. “You are the sun that lights up my world and the moon that moves my oceans. There will never be another you. Trauma and all.” A tear escapes my eye and rolls down my cheek and he kisses it away before pressing his lips against mine. “I love you.” He rests his forehead against mine for a moment before leaning back and putting the car in drive.
“I love you, Colbs. I never thought fairytales were real.” He looks over at me with a dazed smile. “They are. You just have to know where to look.”

Joker Out, Paris (Café de la danse) 22.3.2024
I arrived at the venue around 14ish, and was third to last in the EE queue. However queueing is part of the party! I exchanged sooo many bracelets and met amazing people, some of which I just met that day, some I knew from Discord or tumblr or earlier gigs, couldn't have been happier. Got selfies with Bojan and Jan?? Hug from Bojan??? HELLO. That would never happen in Finland. I described his hug as jämäkkä and turvallinen, which roughly translates to sturdy and safe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some of the bracelets I made for the concert!
Met someone in the queue who had hawk's eyes and who encouraged me to go and ask for a selfie with Jan, and later on she spotted Bojan on the street 100 m before everyone else did. I had a chance to give Bojan 3 2 ananaslonkero -bracelet that I'd made, with a tiny drink charm. If the main joke in fandoms is that a hug from your blorbo would cure you? well it's true. Getting a hug from Bojan removed some stiffness between my shoulder blades that I didn't even know was there. It was literally easier to breathe after the encounter. I also kept vigorously shaking for 3-5 minutes afterwards, so much that some people asked if I'm ok. Just released years worth of trauma ig. Also LOTS of happy hand stims throughout the day, my autism was showing lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jan was outdoors SMOKING!!! And Bojan had charmingly dirty hair! He was taller than I had thought.
ANYways the gig !! I ended up on Jance side, which was nice as I was on Kris' side in Helsinki. Whole stage was about as wide as K-18 section at Kultsa, and I think they suit better on smaller stages.
We got Vem da Gres and Gola in soundcheck! I was wearing Vem da gres -bracelet that I got in Helsinki a few weeks ago and thought about that person for a few seconds!
Gola was ok. Bojan got disney mickey ears, and he was wearing my 3 2 ananaslonkero bracelet. Bojan also got a maca plushie that he was NOT scared of, he even made it fly.
Tumblr media
Kris left the stage as soon as the last notes of Gola were over, other boys stayed jamming in accelerating speed for couple of more minutes. I showed them my UM sign that only read "I want to sing UMAZAN" at that point. :')
20h02 was ok, didn't connect with their music at all though. JC Stewart seemed a bit sick, but sounded good nevertheless. Finished my sign.
They started with Katrina and Bele Sanje, and people were singing even guitar riffs along. Dopamin hit like dopamine followed by Ne bi smel, Nace was staring at me several times during those songs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liinu's superb edit of staring sc Nace and struggling Kris and Arcti's edit about Jan's forgotten library books made my day
People were already singing along to Sta bih ja, and Bojan was sooo happy (and sweaty. We were all very sweaty, the concert hall was ridiculously warm.). Kris disappeared for a moment in the beginning of Sta bih ja, and Bojan looked like a lost puppy (wait, where is kris?? about 5-10 seconds into sta bih ja). Bojan said Kris didn't like how Jan played the riff and that's why he left the stage :P. Jan flipped a bird to him.
Tumblr media
Decibels raised by about 20 when they played Ona and Demoni. Turns out they might be the easiest to sing along for absolutely everyone, not just for people who speak Finnish. Bojan looked me directly into eyes during second verse of Demoni for several seconds, and I felt so seen (in a good way). EE was definitely worth its price.
In Helsinki I felt like the setlist was over before it even started, but in Paris it felt more like we were really dancing and playing until the stars fade. I think it had something to do with how much they interacted with each other and with the public during each song. In Helsinki they seemed like they had forgotten how to be on stage, and there was just TOO MUCH SPACE, whereas Paris had Nordic Tour energy.
Tumblr media
They all moved a LOT on stage!! Kris was on jance side several times! Nace had a mating dance thingy going on with Kris at least twice, Jan once. Jan interacted with the public on Kris's side a few times. Bojan almost run into Kris at one point - no wonder he caressed Kris's arm to let him know he's there before grapping his hips?? and dancing behind him??? during Behind those eyes. It's cafe de la danse after all.
Tumblr media
Def thinking "THIS is how we'll trend on tumblr tonight" right after the famous dance
Everybody's waiting and soooooo many people raised hands when Bojan asked in his spiel before the song if anyone here suffers from panic or anxiety attacks, and I think it made everyone feel less alone. He sang I'm the problem it's me -line to make things a bit lighter before proceeding to the song.
Tumblr media
We got Omamljeno Telo and I felt SOOOO HAPPY (but also sad for Moonu) but also SOOOO HAPPY it was on the setlist, I think I screamed VITTU JES on top of my lungs (manifesting it for Ruisrock huh). Famous water spray on Jan during OT, and it shows I've grown old, because instead of "yeeeess I want Bojan's spit on me" I went "rat disease, why am I not wearing a mask".
Everyone sang along during CD, not in French though even if there was a fanproject French translation published a whole 28 hours before(....). Plastika hit like a hammer once again, but I think I was already waiting and stressing for UM, so I didn't mosh for example. Which, good idea, because my neck was soooo sore after Helsinki.
Bojan announced the karaoke song, and asked which versions we have today. He saw my sign, asked "Slovenian version?", to which I "said" (from 4th row on Jan+Nace side) Finnish version, and he heard it and corrected himself and said perfect. I was not afraid at all even if I knew I'm probs going to sing in front of about 500 people in 5ish minutes???? How??? I'm usually a ball of anxiety but here I was just proud and excited to sing my version of it.
I loved the Bretogne/French version (I've still no idea what were the words, but it rhymed super well and she sang well, but that was def NOT paris region French), cringed at some of the "translations" because they did not fit the lines and did not rhyme, sang along to Slovenian versions in Finnish, felt bad for one of them as the karaoke singer started at the wrong moment and Bojan spent most of their special moment trying to orchestrate the band.
When Bojan approached with "I think we still have a Slovenian version, OH NO, A FINNISH VERSION" I chortled, and felt the last bits of nervousness disappear. (Cue "some boat, titanic, oh no".) I had my ACTUALLY finger pointing moment, which, on point with my personality, telling him it's a hybrid version. I don't know what he meant with SUOMI SAA, but it was NOT full-on Suomi SAATANA, that much is certain. I quite like the idea/interpretation he was making a pun with SAA(tan)Are you ready? But who knows. Sad about missed chance to answer "ArE YoU???" now that I think about it, but at least I wasn't the only one who failed the moment :') . Speaking of cursewords though, a histronic youngster next to me did shout vittu though! I loved my spot but she was super annoying throughout the evening.
The Finnish version is in the beginning of this one, and the Arabic version right after Finnish version is AMAZING. The French version is on the first part, as well as Bojan going "uuu Finnish version? perfect".
Started in Slovene, which made him have a Ok?? face, but when I switched to my own Finnish version that rhymes with the Slovene version, he raised his brows and seemed so impressed that I just nodded to him, sending telepath(et)ic messages that yes, our languages match and rhyme, about time you collaborate with Jere. I think he remembered I asked for a hug in the afternoon, because he did not hug everyone during karaoke. Afternoon hug was better btw.
I love his little surprised smile right when I finish the first Finnish line on this one
I usually think quite a lot about how other people perceive me, but now I didn't give a single fuck, just enjoyed being the main character for 20 seconds, having this interaction with my blorbo. Forever grateful for the 4 different angles I received from friends I made in the queue, and 1 from a random guy who asked me after the concert if I'd like to receive a video he took of me singing. Even Vita was filming the whole thing with her big light + camera + phone ensemble. I often sing in my car, and even IMAGINING i'm singing karaoke makes my voice suddenly tiny and weak and compressed, so I'm overflowingly glad it went this well, you have no idea even if I've just bragged about it for 4 paragraphs.
I later realised I was the only one who didn't hold the mic themself, this is a clear example how I objectify the boys, seeing Bojan just as a mic stand.🫣😵‍💫
I got fluent Kiitos from Bojan, that guy needs to move to Finland he speaks Finnish so well. Also LMAO I forgot to sniff him in the afternoon, now I'm praying the snifff I took after karaoke wasn't too evident and doesn't show on Vita's video……….. Jere is wrong, Bojan does not smell like shit, but there were no parfume smell either? He just smells like nothing in a pleasant, pheromone rich way lol.
my translation: Sanje so tvojega okusa Aamuihin taas tuoksusi Neula ei haarukassa Sieluni on hukassa Etsimässä tietään luoksesi
I haven't figured how to translate the first line. I've been playing with "Makus' on tarrannut uniini", but it does not rhyme with the og well enough. Otherwise super proud of my version. Neula and haarukka are parts of compass, basically saying the compass is layed on the map the wrong way. 🧭
Tumblr media
This is how small the place was??? I was in 3/4th row, and the hat guy in the right corner was right behind me during the concert so the club truly was tiny.
Apparently bubbles were not allowed on stage in Cafe de la danse? But some people had brought their own so we had bubbles anyway.
Jure exchanged his drumstick to a breadstick. I laughed because a) it was a clever pun and b) such a stereotypically French thing to bring a BAGUETTE wrapped in a napkin to a concert. Also no wonder boys are always sick, I don't even want to know how many people touched that bread before it was on stage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Life is pain (in mouths)
We waited for the boys after the concert outside the venue in the rain, and they walked past quite quickly. Bojan stayed for 30 seconds to take a group selfie. <3
Tumblr media
Honestly so happy I traveled there and met amazing people and surpassed myself on so many levels.
I feel like 2004 again, because that's when I last made a post this long on livejournal and also when I last was this hyped about a group.
I loved band's AMAZING OUTFITS in Café de la danse, everyone had some idrija lace on them, and I'm afraid my next special interest will be bobbin lace.

I Don't Wanna Talk Right Now
Summary: After breaking up from a complicated relationship with colby, madison sees him again
Pairing: Colby Brock x Madison Golbach (Reader)
Content/Warnings: Fluffy angst, Passing out and mentions of starvation
A/N: This is set around the time Sam and Colby lived at their apartments
Tumblr media
The blonde haired girl walked through the door of Sam's apartment for pizza night as he promised it wouldn't be awkward for them after the big break up she had with Colby, she approached katrina as she saw the boy in the blue hair next to a girl, who was whispering over the music to him, madison rolled her eyes and got a white claw from the fridge «Just a couple of minutes and back to bed» She said to herself, feeling her chest burning with jealousy
In one way or another, she had to let go, as he explained it, he was scared and she didn't understood at first and then a couple hours after when she was all alone in her apartment with the heart shattered, she had got it, scared of commitment
Sam sat next to her, worried about his sister, he nudge her a little bit to get her attention but her eyes were on Colby, who was laughing and joking with Jake and Corey
"You ok?" Her brother asked, he always felt this protective feeling over her
"No, but I'll be fine, Sammy" She said and sighed exhausted, she had a long day of filming for her new show "He seems to be fine"
"He's faking it, he blames himself for it"
"As he should, anyways... I think I'll go back to my apartment watch Supernatural" She took her keys out and walked to the door
"Hey, do you want to take a box of pizza with you?" Sam looked at her with bright smile, she just nodded taking one box with her "I love you, goodnight" He said as she was closing the door "If you need anything text me or Kat"
She just nodded affirmatively, already making plans on her mind, Supernatural, that pizza and a glass of wine were going make her feel better
"Hey Sam, what's wrong?" Colby asked to his best friend
"Nothing, Colby" Sam said suddenly feeling resentment, he hurted his twin sister, if she was hurt, he was hurt and worried
Madison walked down the hallway finding her apartment, as she entered she left the pizza box on the coffee table, to go to her couch and curled up in it with her comfort show, she got lost on the plot of the episode as Dean Winchester was beating the shit out Castiel
"Demon Dean is something else" She said to herself, giggling "Am I i attracted to this?" Forgetting her pain for a little bit, and then the reminder come back when the blue haired boy was in her living room, startling her
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" He said carefully, smiling a little "You are still watching that?"
"Yeah... it's the fifth time" She was being distant, she couldn't even look at him "What do you want?"
"I just needed to know how you doing" Colby said, seeing her curled up in ball on the couch and watching Supernatural was not a good sign, which made him guilty "Are you ok?"
"Oh, I'm ok, you know, just peachy" Her mask was convincing at least it to Colby «Fake it till you make it» She said to herself
"Ok, just checking, Sam was worried" it was painful for both of them and awkward but they were still friends "Well…have fun with Sam and Dean" He said approaching the door
Madison felt like her thoughts were about to betray her, and intrusive thought came in and she let it win
"Did you ever loved me? Did that month meant something to you?" The blonde haired girl stood up and walked towards her ex
"Of course it did, you were my everything, you're still my everything and i was the happiest" He responded, not even thinking about it "I think there's nothing left to say still, we said a lot"
"there's still some things I want to say" The blue eyed girl said
"Go ahead" He told her, feeling like he was about get hurt, her words were always sharp
"Taking the risk of putting the little dignity i have left out there, I'm still hurt and i won't beg you to do nothing, not even apologize but" Her voice cracked
he was listening carefully, in all seriousness knowing perfectly she was about dig his grave and bury him for the last time
"Why?" Madison asked feeling the rage building up and boiling in her veins, Colby's eyes got big, surprised that was what came out her mouth "Why did you broke up with me, if you were so happy"
"I recognize i was stupid and sometimes i don't think things, if i was scared to commit i should've said that to you" Colby started to tear up remembering his mistake "I'm so sorry, i regret everything i said or didn't said"
The blue haired boy was begging for forgiveness even if she didn't asked him to beg, holding the girl that used to be his
"Please forgive me" He pleaded "I love you"
Those three words paralyzed her on the spot, feeling overwhelmed
"I'm sorry, Colby, i just can't" She was holding back tears while she was feeling the tight grip the boy had on her waist
"It's fine, i was not expecting you to run to my arms" As he said it, she did collapsed on his arms, her overworked starved body gave in at the comfortable touch of her ex boyfriend
She loved it, she love how touchy he was, how clingy he could get
Feeling dizziness because of the tiredness and fatigue, Colby fortunately fast enough to hold her tighter watching his ex girlfriend half passed out on his arms, he placed her on the couch
The blue haired boy took his phone out of his pocket, dialing his best friend's phone but wasn't picking up
"Maddie, what are you doing to yourself" He said knowing she probably wouldn't hear, he knew also how much loved her work, a complete workaholic just like him plus the break up, he just knew she wasn't eating properly or sleeping enough
He called his friend again, cuddling her close to his heart feeling the anxiety building up in his body, seeing she wasn't responding
"Hello? Colby where are you?" Sam said on the other line
"Sam, your sister, she passed out" Sam didn't even hesitated in leaving his apartment and all of his friends, colby felt her breathing heavily "Baby... hi" he whispered softly as she was opening her eyes
"What happened?" She asked confused, seeing Colby was holding onto her for dear life
"You passed out, have you eaten anything today?" He asked worried, she hated how much he knew her "Coffee doesn't count" She nodded negatively
Sam and Kat were on the door frame, the blond boy was ever more pale than he actually was, and Kat had a worried look on her face
"Is she ok?" Sam rushed by her side, while Colby was stepping out, letting Sam handle the situation
"Colbs?" she heard herself saying his nickname and couldn't stop from calling him, she did grabby hands extended to him
Before anything else they were friends, besides the heartbreak and the pain, he cared for her
"It's ok, guys, i can stay, i wasn't having fun anyways"
Sam hesitated to leave, not because he didn't trusted his best friend, but his overprotective self couldn't leave his twin sister
When Sam and Kat finally left, Colby started cooking something for her to eat, there was pizza but she needed something more nutritional than those carbs and greasy food, he made some noodle soup and brought a plate to her
She smiled tiredly at warm feeling of the chicken noodle soup Colby made for her
"Press play" He said sitting next to her, trowing an arm around her shoulders
"But you haven't seen season one" She finished the soup and made that adorable face to get a little more
"Put the first season then" He said from the kitchen, secretly loving being with her
Madison fell asleep on Colby putting her feet on his lap and holding on to his body while getting the best sleep she had in a while, suddenly Colby realized she was the one and little by little letting the fear of commitment and getting hurt go, she needed him but he needed her even more.

Daddy, Don't Be A Hero
Tumblr media
Summary: When Andy puts himself at risk during an incident at the courthouse, everyone celebrates him as a hero. But what happens when he goes home to face his angry wife and daughters, each of whom is determined to give him a piece of their mind? Andy Barber x Black!Reader, BiBi Barber, KitCat Barber, RoRo Barber, A.J. Barber
Warnings: Slight Angst, Fluff, Dramatic Barber Girls, Exasperated Andy, Slightly Scared Andy, Scared A.J., Angry Reader, Minors DNI.
A/N: Written for @lexivass - I know you probably pictured the kids being a little bit younger, but aging them this way seemed to read better. I hope you still enjoy it. Part of my Growing Pains Series. Semi-proofread, not beta’d. All mistakes are my own. Thanks for reading everyone. As always, feedback is appreciated and encouraged.
___
“Look, ladies, it’s really not that big of a deal.” Andy mumbles as he stares down his very beautiful and very angry wife, along with his three daughters, Bianca, Katrina, and Rory.
“Dad, you fought a gunman! Do you hear me? A gunman! As in, a man with a gun.” Each word is peppered by a clap of her hands. “This is not some small thing, this is not - oh my god. Oh, my god, I can’t even breathe through my face right now.” Hands on her hips she begins to pace the length of the kitchen muttering to herself.
“Bianca Boo -”
She throws up a hand. “Please do not “Bianca Boo” me. I’m trying to slow down my heart rate, okay? You’ve got my blood pressure runnin’ all kinds of high.”
Andy looks over at his wife who is currently leaning against the sink, her face unreadable. “Y/N, baby, the gun wasn’t even loaded.”
“BUT YOU DIDN’T KNOW THAT THEN!” All three of his daughters screech at the same time, making him jump.
“What - what were you thinking?” Katrina interjects. “That’s what I want to know. I think we all want to know. You have four kids, Dad. Four! One, two, three, four!” She points at each of his kids, and then herself. “I am in the middle of writing my college admittance essays. Do you really want me to be the girl who sends in a paper titled Hey! Let Me Tell You About the Day My Dad Died When He Didn’t Have To?!”
“No, I don’t, KitCat. I would never want that for you.” Her tired father responds with a sigh. “But guess what? Since I’m sitting right here, you don’t have to write that essay.”
What in the world ever possessed him to have three daughters? And where was his son? He needed back-up!
“You sure? Hmm?” She asks, her fingers going to pinch the bridge of her nose. “I could even add tear stains to the envelopes for added effect…”
“Okay, sweetheart, Daddy gets it.”
“Do you, Dad? Do you?” KitCat hisses at him through narrowed eyes. “Almost left us fatherless.” She mumbles, shaking her head. “Our poor Mama would’ve been a widow.” His seventeen-year-old keeps going as she turns and strides out the sliding door and into the backyard.
“Jesus Christ.” Andy groans as he buries his head in his hands. “Alright, everyone, I get your point. I put myself in a potentially dangerous situation and -” He is once again interrupted by Katrina, who comes waltzing back in the house just as quickly as she left.
“It’s hot out there. I don’t do well in heat waves.” Katrina growls. “And I’m mad that our father almost made that one,” she points at A.J. who’s looming in a corner, “the man of the house. We would’ve been doomed!”
“Hey!” Her fourteen-year-old brother yells. “That’s not fair! I can be trusted to spend Dad’s life insurance money responsibly. I’d take care of Mom, while graciously allowing the three of you to live out back.”
“And since you’ve drawn me into the conversation, let me say that I, for one, think what Dad did was really brave.” A.J. goes to rest his cast-covered wrist on his father’s shoulder.
“Thank you, son.” Andy mutters. When this was over, he was gonna go out and buy his boy a car.
“And, if you all take a moment to stop shrieking and calm down, you’ll agree with me. We should be celebrating this man, not berating him for his act of…of heroism…” He trails off when his mother and his sisters all turn their angry gazes on him.
“Be quiet before I fracture your other wrist.” Katrina grunts.
He nods once before slowly removing his arm from his father’s shoulder. “But then again, what do I know? I’ve only been around a few short years.” Palms up, he begins to back away.
“Really, Junior? You’re just gonna hang me out to dry like that?” Andy asks, a look of betrayal etched onto his features. And there goes your car, kid.
“Sorry, Dad. But there’s more of them than there are of us.” He whispers. All four women watch as he quietly takes a seat at the table. “Live today, fight tomorrow. Just like in The Mummy.” He mumbles to himself, quoting he and his mother’s favorite movie. “Plus, I need my good wrist.”
Andy shakes his head and rolls his eyes.
Where was the loyalty that was supposed to exist between father and son?
“Daddy…” His little RoRo says softly as she walks around the kitchen island to wrap her arms around him. Surprised by the gesture, he gratefully returns the hug.
“Thank you, sweetheart.” He says when she pulls away.
“There’s no easy way to say this, but you’re old.” His wife lets out a snort before quickly covering her mouth with her hand.
“I am not.” Andy growls as he looks down at his body. Yeah, he was in his fifties and he was sporting a little more gray in his hair and in his beard, but he was still in good shape. He worked out every day, curled weights, occasionally bench pressed his wife…
“You are. And I get you want to be the hero, but you can’t do this type of stuff. If you wanna be a hero, then you can start by killing the spider that’s been living in mine and Katrina’s bathroom for the last month.”
“Oh, are you talking about Bertil?” BiBi interrupts. “He’s still there? Huh. Yeah, sissy. It’s time for him to die. See Dad, that’s the perfect job for you. Nice and safe.”
“Yup.” RoRo agrees. “Why don’t you do what other old Dads do? Like, go around the house trying to fix stuff that doesn’t need to be fixed so you have an excuse to go on an adventure to Home Depot? Doesn’t that sound nice?” She asks as she rubs his arm.
“I still have a job, kiddo. You and your siblings like to eat, don’t you?”
“But that’s what weekends are for! Trips to Home Depot and Lowes, and wherever else you can go to look at knobs and pipes and wooden things. You wanna live dangerously? Wear sandals with socks while you do it. No need to wrestle potentially armed crazy people. Bottom line, Daddy, I can’t go through this again.” She pats his shoulder and walks away, fanning herself as she does. “I’m not meant for this life.”
“Okay, kids. I think Daddy’s got it. Thank you. You can go now.” You tell them. Although, you can’t help but smile as you watch each of your four children hug and kiss your husband before disappearing.
You and Andy simply stare at each other for a moment.
“How ya doin’, Big Man?” You ask, finally breaking the silence.
“Do you realize that I just spent the last thirty-seven minutes getting yelled at by three younger versions of you?”
“Mmhm.” You nod. “I didn’t have to say a thing because they said it for me. It was almost magical.”
“Not from where I was sitting.” He grunts. “From my position it was downright unsettling. They even scared Junior.”
“Good. Our girls aren’t to be trifled with. I hope you see that now. Because you scared us today.”
“I know.” He opens his arms, and you can’t help but rush towards him. “I know I scared you all. You have my word that I won’t do it again, okay?”
“Okay.” You murmur as you press a sweet kiss to your man’s lips. “Okay.”
Andy finally allows himself to breathe a sigh of relief, only to hiss in pain when his wife flicks him hard in the ear..
“Ow! What the -?”
“That’s for making my blood pressure run high all goddamn day, you buttface!” You growl as you walk away, feeling like you can finally breathe again.

Diluc:
♪~Ghost Town: By Benson Boone~♪
He'd try any way to get out of singing to you, it's not that he's embarrassed, he's just scared you'll end up not liking what you're hearing. He sounds amazing though and each lyric is sung with so much soul...
Bennett:
♪~Walking On Sunshine: By Katrina and The Waves~♪
He walks up to the mic and just let's loose singing happily, dancing around without a care in the world...till he gets wrapped up in the wire and falls off the stage, the thought was sweet though! His singing wasn't horrible either!
Thoma:
♪~Dont Stop Believing: By Journey~♪
He is extremely red in the face, the entire time before singing saying that he's going to sound terrible...but as soon as he you realize that's not even close to true. He sounds perfect and he adds extra emphasis to the chorus.
Zhongli:
♪~Hallelujah: By Leonard Cohen~♪
When he sings it's like you can see the story playing out in front of you, it makes you wonder if he experienced anything like it. He sounds wonderful, his voice slightly lower than normal and it made your heart beat faster.
Albedo:
♪~Rewrite The Stars: Sung By Zac Efron and Zendaya~♪
He sings the song a bit slower than the original almost like a acoustic version and he's slightly awkward, but he sounds good. Through out the entire song his eyes are on you and at the end he thanks you for giving him the courage to try.
Itto:
♪~Thats What Makes You Beautiful: By One direction~♪
He goes all out, screaming the chorus loudly and putting a hand on his heart as the song comes to a close. He doesn't sound...the best, but he's so funny and cheerful that it doesn't matter.
Gorou:
♪~Just The Way You Are: By Bruno Mars~♪
He's so shy when it starts that he messes up the words, but after you give him a reassuring smile he forgets his stage fright and sings the best he can, he doesn't sound bad either! In fact he does really well and gestures to you whenever he gets to the chorus, making you blush heavily.
Tighnari:
♪~Time Bomb: By Zach Gordon~♪
He teased you till you'd sing, now it was his turn and he wasn't happy about it, everything sounded to loud, he already had a headache from the horrid singers before the two of you. However...he sang really well and it was like he had a special connection to the song. It made your heart flutter.
Alhaitham:
He refuses to sing, claiming there's no point in it other than for entertainment and reading a novel would give the same effect. He did say he that if he were to sing it wouldn't be anything sappy or romantic, most likely something classical and short.
Kaveh:
♪~Uptown Girl: By Billy Joel~♪
He's a absolute blast, his singing isn't perfect but he puts so much effort into the song and into his dance moves. By the end he's completely out of breath and your stomach hurts from laughing, your face is red with a blush.
Baizhu:
♪~Leaving On A Jet Plane: By John Denver~♪
He sings so softly, taking deep breaths between most of the lyrics and you can't help but worry about his song choice. He had soul...and he would sound good if there wasn't so many pauses...was he really going to be okay?
Xiao:
♪~Perfect For Me: Sung By Justin Timberlake~♪
At first he said he wouldn't take part in such a mortal activity, but eventually with enough convincing and promised almond tofu, he eventually agreed. You were in pure shock...he sounded amazing and despite the song being a sad one...he somehow sang it like a love song.
Kazuha:
♪~I Will Follow You Into The Dark: By Death Cab For Cutie~♪
His voice is very gentle and he sings so slowly, you could fall asleep to it, not to mention how good he actually sounds. Poetry and the art of sword fighting are just some of the many things he's amazing at.
Venti:
♪~Tale As Old As Time: Celine Dion~♪
Not only did he play his lyre but he sang so wonderfully, it was right out of a story book and you cheered for him when it was over. Little did you know you were his inspiration.
Heizou:
♪~Perfect: By Ed Sheeran~♪
It was a cheesy song choice and he knew that, but it was one of the few he knew all the words to. He sang it pretty well too, even grabbing your hand and dancing with you while he sang.
Wanderer:
♪~Walls: By Louis Tomlinson~♪
He tried every way possible to get out of singing, saying he'd rather eat garbage then sing a song, but in the end he'd been dared and now he had too. He actually put more effort into it then you expected and as he sang...you could tell he was truly feeling the emotions of the song.
Kaeya:
♪~Sexy And I Know It: By LMFAO~♪
You were dying of laughter, your blush redder than a tomato as he sang directly to you the ENTIRE song. Not to mention his dancing...that was questionable. He truly knew how to do a show and he winked at the end...
Chongyun:

He's completely blushed the entire time as he sings the sappiest song you'd ever heard and afterwords he had to eat three popsicles just to calm down...but it was all very cute.

Xingqiu:
♪~Dandelions: By Ruth B~♪
He sang so gracefully, each note hit perfectly on time and in key...it was beautiful, thoughtful. He had a light blush on his face but the entire time he smiled showing his true feelings through music.
Cyno:
♪~All I Want Is You: By Barry Louis Polisar~♪
The song was a little silly, with more puns then you'd usually like, but the way he sang it also made it feel...romantic? Somehow it became a very special song to you both and he hums it sometimes while at work.
Razor:
♪~Count On Me: By Bruno Mars~♪
He's not the best at talking, so singing really isn't his strong suit but he tried very hard and in the end he sounded adorable. He may not have remembered some of the words and he definitely wasn't in key...but he picked the song just for you.

Hi how are you and love your fics and would you write for Charli grant also Katrina gorry
heya!, I'm doing well thankyou I actually have a cute idea of Charli and the reader going to the Australian woman of the year awards together!!
Tumblr media
plot: Y/N and Charli are injured and can't go to the Matildas camp in Canada, therefor they are asked to represent the Matildas at the Australian Woman of the Year awards (imagine reader in the red mini dress Margot Robbie wore for a barbie premiere)
Warnings: fluff, mentions of anxiety (ik dates don't add up...live the fantasy)
Tumblr media
When you sprained your ankle at the Leicester vs Arsenal game you were upset that you couldn't take part in the last international camp of the year, you considered all of the girls like family.
Then Charli also injured herself, ruling you both out of the camp. It was then you decided that you could both go home to your families in Australia and spend your week there.
You forgot about your injury and instead got excited, you hadn't physically seen your girlfriend in about three weeks and you had missed her so much.
Kyra gave you so much shit for it.
When the plane to Sydney landed you knew she would be at the Airport waiting so you flashed a smile quickly to the person who thankfully didn't snore who sat behind you and made your way out of the plane.
You saw her from a mile away with her bright perfect smile and blonde wavy locks. She was the definition of sunlight in your eyes and every time you saw her you felt like you were falling in love all over again.
When you quickened up your steps to get to her you let go of your suitcase and engulfed her in a bone-crushing hug.
"hello to you to babe" she laughed and you squeezed her tighter "I missed you Chaz"
"I missed you too" she said and relaxed into your touch. You both stayed like that before she let you go and reached into her bag, bringing out two tickets.
"I may have agreed to something" she sheepishly smiled and you laughed "what did you do?" you ask and she held out the tickets to you.
"Woman of the year awards" you read out before she pointed at them again "you missed something"
You looked back down at the ticket and furrowed your brows until you saw it.
"Tonight?!"
"Surprise!" Charli smiled cautiously as she watched your face "I know they're last minute but it would be you and me representing the Matilda's whilst they're at camp and plus we get to dress up" she added on, grabbing your hands.
You gave in and smiled "Okay," you told her "I don't have a dress though, I didn't think 'big event' would've been something I should've packed for" you said and Charli laughed "They've got us dresses babe" she told you before giving you a soft kiss on the lips.
"Can we go home?" you asked with an overexaggerated pout "if I'm going to this thing I'm gonna need a rest to get rid of these eyebags" you pointed at your eyes and Charli grabbed the tickets out of your hand.
"Oh please you will be the most sexy woman there" she encouraged and grabbed your hand "let's go".
You were both at your family home, laying on your childhood bed, napping with your legs entangled together.
You watched Charli sleep with a smile, she was gorgeous, you didn't know that she was doing the same thing ten minutes ago when you were fast asleep.
You got up to the end of the bed and checked your phone for the time, three o'clock. You knew you had to wake Charli up to get ready.
But before you did you looked at the door that had the dress that Vanity Fair had chosen for you both, Charli had an elegant yellow gown and you had a red silk mini dress that you knew you would probably be thinking about the shortness of the whole night.
"We can switch" a voice popped up behind you and you faced Charli "No, you would look perfect with the yellow" You smiled and Charli moved up from the bed to you and snuggled into your side "You will look fabulous" she told you and kissed your shoulder "you always do"
"I'm just a little bit scared is all" you admitted and Charli nodded "like what if I fall-" "you want fall" "but I could" you told her before looking down "I have bruises on my shins from soccer it will be unattractive and the media would be-"
"hey" Charli turned your head delicately with her fingers to face her "We are there to accept an award because of our sport, it would be a little stupid if they think we walk out of the pitch with nicely tanned shaved legs with no damage to our bodies, plus we are only going because we have done damage to our bodies" she joked, hoping it would bring a smile upon your lips, which it did.
"I don't want you thinking about anyone in the media y/n" Charli told you as she stroked her fingers in your hair "think about you, or me, or even you and me, think of anything" she encouraged and pressed a small kiss to your lips.
"You always know how to make me feel better" you smile at her "anything for my girl" she smiled, and for the 1000th time that day you felt your heart melt.
"I love you"
"I love you too, now lets get ready"
It wasn't long until the hair and makeup people came and 'did you up' as Charli called it, her hair was curled and her eyes had a shimmer on them that somehow made her shine even more than her natural self.
You didn't think that was possible.
Your makeup was similar, only with a sharper eyeliner and you hair was in a low bun with strands curled at the front.
You walked out to your girlfriend talking to one of the media girls that you recognized from the world cup who was filming Charli answering a few questions in her dress which she stopped when you walked out.
"y/n freaking y/l/n" she stated before walking up to you and giving you a hug "you look gorgeous she told you before stepping back and looking at you upside down "and bloody sexy!" she added, making you blush.
You weren't gonna lie you did feel glamorous and you did catch yourself looking in the mirror a bit longer than intended.
"You're not too bad yourself" you told the blonde who couldn't stop smiling.
You both answered some questions, even including questions about your relationship that the viewers on tik tok would love.
"Cabs here you ready to go babe?" you called out as you got the text of the arrival of your uber driver, you turned around to your girlfriend taking pictures of you "Charli!" you called out and she laughed.
"You just look so good!"
