2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

That Cartman has stuffed animals! Though I hate him as a person (but love him as a character), the scene where he had a tea party, and the other where he played toys with Bebe... all strangely endearing.

I'd also say that he is canonically good at singing/rapping. Let's be honest, his rap in 'Put it Down' went hard.

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

Total Drama series. There is no real reason for this other than I'd pay good money to see how Cartman interacts with Chris, Heather and Alejandro lmao. He would also do a great job at scheming his way to the million dollars.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

'Poker Face', by Lady Gaga haha.

6. What's something you have in common with this character?

Just our love for cats and stuffed animals, that's all. :)

I have no idea if this counts, but it's one-sided Kyman from Cartman's side. I stress on the "one-sided" part, because I genuinely can't see Kyle reciprocating at all, and mutual Kyman simply does not spark joy for me. Whenever I come across untagged Kyman in fics, I immediately leave lmao.

Kyle and Cartman is my second favourite dynamic to watch on screen (after Stan and Kyle), not only because their rivalry is funny af, but there's just something so fascinating about Cartman's fucked up obsession with Kyle... and not in the "man this is so cute!!" way, but in the "wow what the fuck is wrong with you. I wanna study you under a microscope" way.

16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?

Apart from the obvious illegal ships, it's a tie between Heiman (for obvious reasons) and the flavour of Kyman where Kyle reciprocates. I'm also not a big fan of Candy either, though I'll admit that their battle interactions in TFBW made me laugh hard.

17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite that you're fine with?

Although it's a ship I'll never seek out in fanart/fics, probably Kenman. Not something I feel particularly strong about, but if they're a side ship in a fic then I'm cool with it.

If I really had to list out my current ships idk if I could adequately considering my feelings change all the time, but:

I've given Kyman the most focus but I'm not sure if its OTP status anymore. However I am not really as passionate as any other ship so I guess I don't have an OTP right now

Style, Stendy, Buttman, and Candy might be the ones that I comfortably consider other main ships of mine

I'd say various other ships are more in the "sure I ship that" category and that consists of Creek (idk if I've really focused on it a lot despite its canon status), Kenman, Stanman, K2, Stolkien, and Dip

That might not be all of them but its most of the ones I give any thought at least.

hmm 🤔 well similar to buttman I haven’t thought much about kenman before either so imma spitball as I go again

kenny and cartman are bffs, no doubt. kenny is more likely than any of the main 4 boys to laugh at his jokes, go along with his schemes, etc. obviously cartman gives him shit constantly for being poor but kenny is perfectly capable of dishing it back (“if cartman's gone, why are we still calling ourselves coon and friends?” “because it pisses cartman off beyond belief. and I find that extremely funny”)

one of the only times that cartman shows true grief is in the episode “kenny dies”, and he also goes to insane lengths to try to find a cure using stem cells (though that plan kinda went off the rails because…it’s cartman lol). it’s also very telling that in post-covid, kenny and cartman stayed friends even after the gang split up, and kept in touch for nearly 40 years. that’s a LONG ASS time! these dudes genuinely care about each other.

something I find particularly interesting about their relationship is that cartman is the only one in the series that has any kind of memory of kenny dying. yes it was in an earlier season but in the episode “cartmanland” he was aware that kenny dies all the time. if cartman is uniquely capable of understanding kenny’s immortality, even fleetingly, kenny would appreciate that more than anything else in the world because he’s been so alone for so long being forced to keep that part of himself a secret. it’s honestly tragic. like the coon and friends episodes still make me pretty emo when I rewatch them because of kenny’s desperate attempts to make his friends understand and remember his deaths. also (while fucking hilarious) the whole mintberry crunch subversion completely devastated kenny, thinking he was so close to an answer and having it slip away once again. and cartman sending him to the shadow realm for extremely petty reasons sure as shit didn’t help either

I have a headcanon that cartman’s brain is so fucked up compared to the average person that he can sometimes get past whatever magical memory erasing goes on when kenny dies. so like if kenny has a particularly brutal death, cartman unknowingly finds himself being extra nice to him the next day, like giving him food or inviting him over to play video games on his fancy new console. he doesn’t exactly remember why he’s doing those things but deep down he knows he should, and that it’s also probably best to put aside the poor jokes for a while. and that’s saying a lot for cartman.

as for them potentially being in a romantic relationship? idk I personally don’t think kenny would ever really think of cartman that way and vice versa. I can see them going to each other for advice or talking more freely about their romantic relationships than than they do with stan and kyle (which we’ve seen, like cartman being the one bold enough to tell kenny they all think tammy is a slut). I can’t see kenny caring enough/having enough energy to actively try to combat cartman’s narcissism and bigotry unless it’s targeted towards him or his family like kyle would (again the kyman brainrot is strong lol). kenny’s got his own shit to deal with and while he values cartman’s friendship, he’s not looking to change his more harmful behavior.

also, sorry to other kenny ships like bunny or stenny but personally, I see kenny as mostly straight. I mean there is just so much canon evidence of kenny being actively interested in women’s bodies, even before puberty fully hits. like looking at girl porno mags all the time, that whole cheesing hallucination with the princess’s awesome rocking tits, his variation of heaven including many voluptuous naked ladies, etc. maybe he’s bi/pan, but I can’t help but want to see him in a relationship with a lovely beautiful lady who truly respects and loves him because dammit, kenny deserves some happiness in his life and he’s been pining after beautiful women for years. plus I think a long-term relationship with cartman beyond friendship would be too much work for him. he’s tired. let him rest. kyle can deal with cartman’s bullshit instead lol

This ship was never really on my radar when I was younger in the fandom! I never saw it a whole lot in art or fic. Getting back into south park now, while it's still not the most popular ship, I'm starting to notice it a lot more! Kenny and Cartman have so many genuine moments in canon and fanworks with them are surprisingly sweet that I can't help it becoming a top 5 ship for me! I really need to make art of it at some point jkhdbcsjhk

What are your favorite things about the ship?

Kenny and Cartman are best friends! They have the exact same immature sense of humor and are always laughing at each other's stupid ass jokes and pranks. There's so many moments where Cartman really wants to make Kenny laugh, and I love times where they're just hanging out while Stan and Kyle have their more dramatic A plot lmao. They're not the same level of inseparable as Stan and Kyle, but they don't need to be. Also Cartman being aware of Kenny's deaths is a MOUNTAIN of potential.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

So recently I've seen a lot of people saying that the ship Bunny (Butters x Kenny) Is wrong to ship due to Kenny being "the straightest character in the show" (direct quote). Now I'm not saying you like HAVE to ship it or I'll go GRRRR like if you don't like a ship neato cool beans but I honestly don't understand this logic??? Like you're telling me that Kenny being shipped with Butters is wrong because Kennys straight, but literally every character except Tweek and Craig (and my boy Bradley ofc) is canonically straight??? (As far as we know from the Canon atleast) SO like what's the difference between shipping Bunny and shipping Style for example?? Both are ships containing canonically straight character that people like to see as not straight which is more than okay but then whys one hated for going against the Canon whilst the other isn't???? Wheres the logic???? I've even seen people who say you can't ship Bunny for this reason yet then go on to ship like K2 or even Kenman something???? Like why are those suddenly okay for Kenny to not be straight for but Bunny isn't??? What am I missing??? Just say you don't like Bunny simple as you don't have to have a reason or have a ship be objectively wrong to not ship it (for example I dont ship K2 or Tyde simply because I just don't see those characters romantically, doesn't mean they're objectively bad and shouldn't be shipped by anyone). I’m sorry, I know this is nitpicky; but one of the most OOC things in this fandom is the Captain coming out and saying “I’m gay,”. Not only does that word have a completely different meaning to pretty much all of the ghosts except for Julian, but he also just… he would not say that. It’s a quite new term that feels more blasé and perhaps accepting, less formal. Considering cap is none of those, he’d either call himself (a) homosexual or not dare name it, i.e. “I find myself… attracted to men”.

This has nothing to do with the fic’s quality, though. Most, if not all, Captain-coming-out fics I’ve read so far have been great… Now I kind of want to write one
