barbie doll not in a barbie world
We know John based Alecto’s body on his favorite Barbie doll. Does that mean Alecto literally has Barbie Doll Anatomy as per the trope?
Like, no body hair, no female-presenting nipples, nothing but featureless smooth skin between her legs?
Because I agree that John didn’t intentionally put Alecto in a doll-like body to make her “sexy.” But what if - accidentally or not - he instead made her sexless?
So first of all, we know that Alecto-as-Nona finds Harrow’s scrawny, lumpy-brain, unattractive-by-popular-vote body to be beautiful. And yet, in Nona the Ninth, Alecto describes her own body as a “hideousness.”
Now, it could be that Alecto hates the body John made her just because he got the proportions kinda wonky, or because there’s something unique to the Alecto-body that keeps her trapped there unlike when she’s in Harrow’s body.
But I can’t help but also think of the passage where Nona describes the “cradle creature” that she drew to the Angel. Because she doesn’t defend her drawing on how creative, or beautiful, or accurate the doodle was:
Nona looked down at the animal she had drawn, and thought perhaps she understood. She said, “No, I made it up. It does work, I promise. See these things? They're its ears,” she said in much the same tones as she would have explained to Kevin. “This thing is its nose, and you can’t see it because I didn’t draw it, but the mouth is under here. When it was first born it used to live in a river, but then it got cold so it had to get large. I know the legs can’t rotate, but you don’t think that’s stupid, do you?”
Nona the Ninth, p251
Instead, Nona is completely focused on the fact that despite her doodle’s unusual features, it’s an animal that “works.” It’s a being that could live.
Is Alecto… not a being that “works”?
At the very least, Nona doesn’t seem to like or need normal human food. Presumably, Alecto was the same way. So her lacking an anus or genitals likely wouldn’t be an issue given that this is a woman who thinks rubber and graphite are a yummy snack. Also who, per Mercymorn, might not even have DNA.
So why would this matter?
It’s because there’s something especially potent and horrifying about taking the soul of Earth, of Mother Nature herself, and then forcing her into a body without a functional digestive tract or reproductive system. Not, to be clear, that people lacking those things are in any way less human or less worthy of life. It’s just… speaking of life and nature in the most broad and planetary terms, ’can eat and reproduce’ are the significant features that set living organisms apart from rocks. The uniqueness of which is also what sets Earth apart from every other planet in the solar system.
Plus there’s the way Gaia (the ancient goddess, not Kiriona) was somewhat associated with fertility and the harvest. Meanwhile Christmas tree fairies, Renaissance angels, Adam and Eve in their innocent state, Galatea the statue, Frankenstein who was denied a mate… they’re more associated with the opposite of that.
So when it comes to the symbolism of Alecto, there’s these Classical thematic connections between womanhood and abundance and fertility, now being placed in dialogue with a very Christian idealization of abstinence from food and sex. It’s Muir using two mythological building blocks and putting them in tension with each other.
(There’s also the building block of Māori traditions that Muir draws on with Alecto and her saltwater, though I am nowhere near qualified to comment on that… would love to read more about it, though!)
Last but not least, there’s the modern context to consider. Alecto’s body is specifically a Hollywood Hair Barbie. Hollywood formerly of the Hays Code, Hollywood now in the age of “everyone is beautiful and no one is horny.” The gilded facsimile of life, distanced from the messy, primordial desires underneath.
I don’t have any kind of grand thesis to tie all these observations together, but the juxtapositions are interesting, aren’t they? Especially in a series that is less shy than many about normalizing queer (often female) desire. In that context, taking such desires away would be a hideousness, wouldn’t it?
.
And you know, while we’re on this subject… it’s unclear whether Gideon can eat or feel arousal in her revenant form either. (Yes, I’m sure fanfic writers have opinions on this, but I haven’t gotten to post-Nona works in my chronological AO3 binge and we’re just talking about the text of NtN here.)
Did John take those pleasures away from Gideon too?
I hadn’t even really thought about all the Kiriona/Alecto parallels, but they sure are plentiful. John puts both women into bodies that seem superficially wonderful yet which they both resent and dislike. And they also both act/consider acting as John’s cavalier, with the implication that this is because they don’t have any other options or people who care about them. At least John seems to like their company, even as he manipulates and hurts the ones they love.
So yeah, what is with this dude and turning people into his perfect dolls? Once might have been an accident, but this starting to look like a pattern my guy.

Disney Gives G’day With New Year’s Premiere Date For “Koala Man” Slated For January 9
Good people of Dapto, there's a new superhero in town. Koala Man ready to kickoff Disney’s 100 Years Of Wonder.
Koala Man will officially be bringing marsupial justice to Disney’s streaming platforms on January 9 on Hulu & Disney+ International with Star+ dropping the show on later date.
New images from the show have also dropped. Koala Man hails form Australian creator/animator Michael Cusack (YOLO: Crystal Fantasy, Smiling Friends).
Koala Man follows middle-aged dad Kevin and his titular not-so-secret identity, whose only superpower is a burning passion for following rules and snuffing out petty crime in the town of Dapto. Though it may seem like any other Australian suburb, forces of evil both cosmic and man-made lie in wait to pounce on unsuspecting Daptonians. On a quest to clean up his hometown, and often roping his frustrated family into his adventures, Koala Man stands at the ready. He’ll do whatever it takes to defeat villainous masterminds, supernatural horrors, or worse: jerks who don’t take their rubbish bins down on the proper days.
The series features the voices of Michael Cusack as Kevin/Koala Man; Hugh Jackman as Big Greg, head of the town council and the most popular guy in Dapto; Sarah Snook as Kevin’s forbearing wife, Vicky, a cafeteria lady; Jemaine Clement as Bazwell, a nerdy and ineffectual dandy who mentors Kevin’s son, Liam (also voiced by Cusack) and Demi Lardner as Kevin’s popularity-hungry daughter, Alison; with Rachel House as Vicky’s coworker Janine and local bowling club owner Louise, Jarrad Wright as Kevin’s neighbor/BFF/super hero sidekick, Spider, and guest roles by Miranda Otto and Hugo Weaving.
Koala Man is executive produced by “Solar Opposites” and “The Paloni Show” co-creator Justin Roiland and Walt Disney Pictures & Point Grey Pictures “Figment” writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit.
Michael Cowap also serves as executive producer. The series is produced by 20th Television Animation for Disney Television Studios.

Unusual radar signatures of icy moons in the outer solar system A study co-authored by Southwest Research Institute Senior Research Scientist Dr. Jason Hofgartner explains the unusual radar signatures of icy satellites orbiting Jupiter and Saturn. Their radar signatures, which differ significantly from those of rocky worlds and most ice on Earth, have long been a vexing question for the scientific community. “Six different models have been published in an attempt to explain the radar signatures of the icy moons that orbit Jupiter and Saturn,” said Hofgartner, first author of the study, which was published this month in Nature Astronomy. “The way these objects scatter radar is drastically different than that of the rocky worlds, such as Mars and Earth, as well as smaller bodies such as asteroids and comets.” The objects are also extremely bright, even in areas where they should be darker. “When we look up at Earth's moon it looks like a circular disk, even though we know it's a sphere. Planets and other moons similarly look like disks through telescopes,” Hofgartner said. “While making radar observations, the center of the disk is very bright and the edges much darker. The change from center to edge is very different for these icy satellites than for rocky worlds.” In collaboration with Dr. Kevin Hand of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Hofgartner argues that the extraordinary radar properties of these satellites, such as their reflectiveness and polarization (the orientation of light waves as they propagate through space) is very likely to be explained by the coherent backscatter opposition effect (CBOE). “When you’re at opposition, the Sun is positioned directly behind you on the line between you and an object, the surface appears much brighter than it would otherwise,” Hofgartner said. “This is known as the opposition effect. In the case of radar, a transmitter stands in for the Sun and a receiver for your eyes.” An icy surface, Hofgartner explained, has an even stronger opposition effect than normal. For every scattering path of light bouncing through the ice, at opposition there is a path in the exact opposite direction. Because the two paths have precisely the same length, they combine coherently, resulting in further brightening. In the 1990s, studies were published stating that the CBOE was one explanation for the anomalous radar signatures of icy satellites, but other explanations could explain the data equally well. Hofgartner and Hand improved the polarization description of the CBOE model and also showed that their modified CBOE model is the only published model that can explain all of the icy satellite radar properties. “I think that tells us that the surfaces of these objects and their subsurfaces down to many meters are very tortured,” Hofgartner said. “They’re not very uniform. Icy rocks dominate the landscape, perhaps looking somewhat like the chaotic mess after a landslide. That would explain why the light is bouncing in so many different directions, giving us these unusual polarization signatures.” The radar observations Hofgartner and Hand used were from the Arecibo Observatory, which was one of only two telescopes making radar observations of icy satellites until it was severely damaged by the collapse of its support structure, antenna and dome assembly and subsequently decommissioned. The researchers hope to make follow-up observations when possible and plan to study additional archival data that may shed even more light on icy satellites and the CBOE, as well as radar studies of ice at the poles of Mercury, the Moon, and Mars. "I believe in equality in battle," she raises her hand up and places another on top of where her heart is supposed to be, eyes closed. This reminds some people of some comedic moment before a massive beat down happens, but in this case? The beat down has already transpired with beasts and monsters behind the Apostle as she acts like nothing what happened was her fault. "Equality of getting their asses handed to them, naturally." So unserious, Zarina shrugs it off while looking away from the young man in front of her. There is too much laid-back body language in her, all too relaxed and all too unbothered. "If you wish to learn the ways of fast mass destruction, Trailblazer, all you need to do is ask. I taught a guy who used a baseball bat like you; he became a hero," Kevin, I hope you're resting now. "But really, Himeko would actually skin me alive if we're later than we already are. So can we just gather materials and go back? I don't want to kneel and apologize to Himeko again." It never happened, but she has to make the situation comedic and extraordinary. "Or do you want to make Himeko mad, Caelus?" Now she's staring at him as if studying him, wondering if he'd like to do that. Is he confident and brave (foolish) enough to not fear Himeko herself? Not that she actually fears the red-haired maiden, but this is just too funny not to create a comedy out of.
"Wait, you got some teaching bones tucked into you somewhere? That somber mood of yours actually allows that?"
For Caelus, the fine art of finding joy within battle, embracing the moment that the rich experience endlessly becomes was a worthwhile endeavor. That goes for the weak in the greatest struggle, and as equally viable for the cosmic forces that can rendered the current opposition into limbs. Beheaded, bisected, torn viscerally and fading into data like embers back to the Fragmentum's obscurity. Those golden eyes wouldn't flinch to the view of Zarina's exercise of might. Amidst their conversation, a massive shadow would begin to loom over them, the heat of stars pulsing vividly from the cores of their body as a bestial growl escapes.
Naturally did the entity find itself ignored. His disposition was too concentrated on the poised question to the quirk of the warrior's brow. Now he's certainly not ignorant to the wrathful flame that can be coaxed from Himeko's totality when a schedule meets it's hiccups. "So a golden chance or a concern about punishment? A Home Run or the Sacrificial bunt." His lips found themselves poised in a growing smile, a ravenous sense of potential thrumming in his veins akin to an engine.
As the welcomed weight of his bat finds itself positioned skyward, for an instant the skies begin to dim, the very clouds above parting as if being fashioned apart through the extent of his own will. The progress that found itself burning through blood, bone and soul was also breaking threshold upon threshold. So here Zarina remains, holding the intrigue to actually add a personal tweak to such a design, to let that mere faucet expand into a raging river?
Caelus solemnly swears that HooH's presence was holding over this area, that boundless energy holding a 'closed gaze' to what seems like such a casual choice.
For Equilibrium intends to make such heights an impossible hell to realize.

"Who says we--" That answer would be exercised with the sudden whip of his arm, just in time as the surroundings scathing glowered with the force of of scarlet Hellfire quickly approaching them. It'd be the thorough method of a decisive slam of that Curio that the answer come to fruition. The heavens wail, the lands split, and the once raging force of star bursting flame finds itself rendered to silence in the name of Destruction's Requiem tearing seamlessly through it's paltry attempt. Many notes in the name of a true masterstroke were missing, and even with this incomplete piece was the Solar Fragmentum beast rendered to pure matter through Destruction--
A ravine settles where it's body once remained, this particular Fragmentum zone dissolving as clips and bursts of static can be perceived by the eyes. It was the zone's final gambit, drawing forth another data copied remembrance of the Antimatter Legion would be the answer of vengeance, a sloppy yet aggravated and strong variant being collected from the experiences it gathered. Caelus himself would only watch as he remained side by side with Zarina, a look of expectation shining with mirthful welcome in his eyes. This chasm set before her, and the final foe was the resounding reply.
"Can't turn seconds into minutes. How about you wake up a lil bit and show a smile with this? If I'm getting a hand, I'd like you to throw a lil backbone into it."
Such a haughty request.

Lyman-Morse LM46 Semicustom Performance Cruiser
Lyman-Morse LM46 Semicustom Performance Cruiser.
The Lyman-Morse LM46 performance cruiser Hopgrasser is a stirring rendition of the Maine builder's new semicustom line.
Read more about the Lyman-Morse 46
The cold front had passed overnight, and even though it was the middle of July, the fresh northwesterly off the coast of Camden, Maine, had the crisp, clear aura of an early fall morning. In other words, it was a perfect day to go for a sail. Happily, given that I’d found myself aboard just about the ideal yacht to do so: a slick new Lyman-Morse LM46, a semicustom homegrown beauty constructed at the longtime Maine builder’s facility in nearby Thomaston.
Hopgrasser, the first of two LM46s to emerge from the shed, was company president Drew Lyman’s personal ride, so named by his young daughter, who’d found it linguistically challenging to put the “grass” in front of the “hop.”
The unique name is in keeping with a special, quite inimitable sailboat. Designed by New Zealander Kevin Dibley, a naval architect renowned for his flat-out race boats and graceful performance cruisers, the LM46’s objective is fourfold: light but solid build; handsome yet functional lines and accommodations; prowess in light, inshore breeze; and the power and strength for offshore sailing, including events such as the Newport Bermuda Race (which Hull No. 2, Arcadia, knocked off this past summer).
We’ll start with the build, the first of many things that separate the LM46 from the majority of contemporary cruisers; after all, these days you don’t see many wooden boats at your typical boat show. Lyman-Morse earned its reputation and butters its bread by employing cold-molded, infused-epoxy construction with Douglas fir and Western red cedar. An internal carbon frame stiffens the structure, and ties in the shrouds and titanium chain plates (the rudder and stock are also carbon). The composite deck is laminated with a foam core, again in the dual interests of less weight and more strength. My question about what wood was used to fashion the lovely cabin top was met with a laugh: Turns out it’s all composite (keep it light!), to which a vinyl adhesive with a wood pattern is affixed. Tricky.
In profile, this is one of those rare yachts that looks extremely quick and maneuverable just sitting alongside the dock. The understated sheerline dips ever so slightly from bow to stern, accentuating the low-slung, minimalist coachroof. A dedicated carbon sprit forward is home to both the ground tackle and the tack fitting for off-wind runners and reachers, and gives the profile a businesslike effect. Unlike so many modern boats, there’s no hard chine; in fact, the hull tapers inward in its after sections, a design that does the opposite of a chine and narrows the beam, the thinking being there’s less drag when sailing off the breeze. There’s also less freeboard than we’re used to seeing in most new production boats. To my eye, it’s all very striking.
The boat is powered with a straightforward 12-volt system with a Mastervolt Combi charger/inverter, a 60-amp alternator, a solar panel atop the cockpit dodger, and a set of lithium-ion batteries. The B&G Vulcan 7 instrumentation package is standard. A Yanmar 80 hp diesel with saildrive, coupled with a Max-Prop feathering propeller, supplies the propulsion under power.
Interior details were hardly an afterthought. The forepeak has a centerline queen berth, with access from each side. Alison Langley
As a semicustom boat, the LM46 has quite a bit of leeway in the belowdecks layout and accommodations, but the rather traditional setup on Hopgrasser suited me just fine: galley and nav station at the foot of the companionway, opposing settees/berths in the main saloon, a head and shower forward, and an owner’s stateroom forward. (And a real sea berth to starboard, for which I’m a total sucker.) A single head on a 45-footer is also unusual these days, but a second head is an option.
I wondered aloud about the two quarter berths aft, both wide open and not stashed behind doors, which I thought was in keeping with the airy quarters but something you’re more likely to see on a racer than a cruiser. “If you want privacy,” Drew Lyman said with a laugh, “get yourself a hundred-footer.”
Stowage for a weekend or month’s worth of clothes and gear. Alison Langley
This I discovered rather quickly as we motored out of Camden and hoisted sail, beginning with a powerful square-topped, full-battened Doyle mainsail. Lyman-Morse promotes simple sailing, with the ability to be off the dock with sails hoisted in less than five minutes. With that norther coursing off the mainland, the seaway in the lee was flat and fast: pretty perfect for trialing a boat that accentuates performance.
Surprisingly, there’s no backstay on the LM46, but rather a pair of check stays that require regular attention. The twin wheels, with Jefa steering, are situated just abaft the cockpit-wide traveler, and a double-ended German-style mainsheet arrangement trims the main, which has three deep reefs, which is my preference for long-distance sailing. It’s all smart and efficient, befitting a true racer/cruiser sensibility.
Hopgrasser draws 6 feet, the shoal option that replaces the standard 7-foot, 7-inch composite fin with attached lead ballast bulb (the Bahamas is definitely in its future; alternatively, there’s also a 10-foot version for owners of a more competitive nature).
Sailing the boat is loads of fun, and certainly athletic. Lyman said he’s still learning the boat but has discovered that the sweet spot when sailing upwind is a 20- to 22-inch heel angle, which you dial in by constantly playing and tweaking the traveler and vang, as you would on a dinghy or certain one-design classes. The Doyle headsail is sheeted in not on tracks, but instead on movable leads with multiple trimming options, which on the LM46 is certainly an enjoyable part of the exercise.
On our test sail, the puffy breeze was all over the place, dipping to around 10 knots in the lulls and kicking in at over 20 knots in the gusts. The one consistent factor in all this was the sheer joy in driving this ultra-sensitive, highly responsive sailing machine. In the lighter airs, Hopgrasser registered about 6.5 knots in upwind mode; that ratcheted up to nearly 10 knots just cracked off slightly when it filled into the upper teens. As far as top speeds are concerned, Lyman said that the second LM46, Arcadia, saw 19.9 on its speedo during the dash to Bermuda. No question—it’s a slippery hull indeed.
The LM46 is not inexpensive, but it epitomizes what my wise old sailing mate Alvah Simon referred to as “heirloom quality,” something so fine and lasting that it might be passed along in one’s family for years and generations to come. Those are high aspirations, certainly. But in the case of Hopgrasser and her sisterships, they’re attainable ones as well.

Epilogue
Two Months Later…
This morning, a pair of eyes are open slowly and it shows Terry, naked asleep, with Korvo smiling at him. Then, Korvo awakes him with a kiss.
Terry: yawns Morning baby.
Korvo: Good morning.
As Korvo snuggles with Terry, he thought of something a with a sad look on his face.
Korvo: Terry?
Terry: Mhmm.
Korvo: Do you… ever think about what our lives would have been like… is Shlorp hadn’t blow blown up? If we hadn’t been assigned to each other…
Terry: …No.
Korvo: What? Why not?
Terry: Because, I don’t like imagining my life without you in it.
Shedding tears of joy, Korvo gives Terry another kiss as the two alien husbands embrace lovingly. Then, the scene cuts to the living room where the kids are watching the Super Mario movie on Netflix.
Yumyulack: Come on Mario! Kick Bowser’s fucking ass!
Jesse: Yeah! Go Mario!
Sonya: Woo-hoo!
Pupa: Mario!
Terry: Hey, kids.
Sonya: Hey Terry! Wanna join us?
Terry: Sure. What’s going on?
Yumyulack: We’re just about to see Mario and Luigi powering up!
Terry: Oh, cool!
Korvo: Are you guys really watching that movie again?
Jesse however then sees her Mundane spirit nodding at her with a midnight pink twinkle in its eye, which helps tell Jesse something. She then takes a deep breath and follows her spirit with her Mundane sight without anyone looking or noticing her.
Terry: Yeah. Why?
Korvo: Because, mind if I join in?
Terry is shocked, so are the kids.
Terry: Really? You mean it?
Korvo: Well, yeah. I mean, I never really—
But, then Korvo feels sick and runs upstairs.
Terry: Korvo?! Kids, stay here!
Korvo heads into the restroom. And after a few seconds of vomiting, he looks at a thing. Once Korvo put the test strip in his mouth puts it, he gasp and begins to cry. Then, Terry comes in.
Terry: Korvo? You okay?
Korvo: Terry…I’m…
Terry: What? What is it?
Korvo: I…I…
Terry: You what?!
Yumyulack, Sonya and Pupa comes in and wonder what’s going on. Korvo can’t take it anymore and he blurts it out.
Korvo: I’M PREGNANT!
Korvo then falls to his knees and sobs.
Terry: What?
Korvo smiles in tears of joy.
Yumyulack: No way?
Sonya: Really? We’re having a new baby brother or sister?
Korvo nods.
Terry: Oh Korvy… I can’t believe this is happening so fast.
Korvo puts a finger on Terry’s lips.
Korvo: I know. Isn’t it wonderful? The Solar Opposites are getting a new addition to the family!
Terry: Come here!
The two alien husbands starts kissing with tears of joy in their eyes. Yumyulack, Pupa and Sonya, but then Sonya notice someone missing.
Sonya: Wait a minute. Where’s Jesse?
Terry and Korvo stop kissing and grows shock.
Korvo: I have no idea.
They look around but then Terry sees Jesse at the beach, with his Mundane vision as he smiles, knowing what is happening.
Terry: We gotta head to the beach.
Soon, later, the Solars arrived at the beach where they see Jesse, looking at the ocean as the sun slowly sets.
Korvo: Jesse?
As the Solars approach her, Jesse takes a deep breath as her eyes starts glowing, which made Terry beam up with pride in joy, knowing what his daughter is about to do as he gives a signal to back away. Jesse transforms into her Mundane form and feels inside of her as she starts snarling and kneels down while the others watch her and decided to encourage her.
Terry: C’mon, Jesse!
Korvo: You got this sweetie! This is your come of age crowning moment! It’s time to unleash!
Yumyulack and Sonya: Go, sis!
Pupa: Jesse!
Mundane Jesse then roars as the sun fades away as night has begun. Then, she starts panting. The others cheer. Mundane Jesse then looks at Terry, who walks to her as she starts weeping in pain. Terry hugs Mundane Jesse and soothes her.
Terry: Shh… oh sweetie… I am so proud of you… you’ve officially became a brave young woman… just like you know you would… ever since the day you were born…
Korvo, Yumyulack, Sonya and Pupa then out their arms around Mundane Jesse as they exchange comfort words to her, while congratulating her as well.
Yumyulack: Nice job there sis.
Sonya: Congrats Jesse. You very brave.
Korvo: I am so proud of you sweetheart.
Mundane Jesse smiles with tears in her eyes as her family continues to hug her. Suddenly… They heard a monster attack with someone crying out for help.
Woman: far away AAAHH! Help!
Korvo: Huh?
Terry then sees an attack happening nearby.
Terry: Holy shit!
Yumyulack: What do we do now?
Korvo looks at Terry.
Korvo: Terry?
Terry: I say we kick some ass!
As Terry’s eyes starts glowing, a few hours later, the police arrives, only see to see a fish mutant on the floor, beaten up.
Police Officer: What the hell?
Suddenly, he hears roaring and sees Mundane Terry, Super Shlorpian Korvo, Super Shlorpian Yumyulack, Mundane Jesse and Were-Kraken Sonya on top of a skyscraper building much to people’s surprise but amusement.
Mundane Terry: Ready?
Then, their friends came and watch from below while wearing hoodies and their side effects from their monster forms. They smile at the Solar Monsters and run off to meet up with them.
Super Shlorpian Korvo: Ready.
Then, as Mundane Terry’s eyes glow as he growls, the five Solar Monsters then roars as the screen cuts to black.

Fear? Not If You employ Transportation From Newark Airport To Nyc The suitable Method!
Tumblr media
Apart from travelling to the opposite airports of town, the NYC Airporter solely serves the borough of Manhattan. We solely supply the most dependable, full, and affordable floor transportation services between Transportation From Newark Airport To Nyc. When you are on the lookout for a first class airport shuttle to LGA, you need not look any further than Majestic Transportation Companies. Individuals look out of a house near the scene of the capturing. You'll soon understand exactly why so many individuals make New York City their residence. Electricians with IBEW Local 3 install solar panels on top of the Terminal B garage at LaGuardia Airport, November 9, 2021, in Queens, New York. The Commerce Department says it's investigating whether or not imports of photo voltaic panels from Southeast Asia are circumventing anti-dumping guidelines that block imports from China. A Commerce spokesperson defined that this process “is clear, internationally accepted, and has been the regulation of the land since 1930.” The spokesperson added that “imported photo voltaic cells and panels remain important to advancing present efforts, and Commerce is committed to holding foreign producers accountable to taking part in by the same guidelines as U.S. Chinese language producers JinkoSolar, JA Solar, Trina Photo voltaic, BYD, and LONGi Solar, which are the dominant solar element manufacturers on the planet.
Tumblr media
The companies subject to the duties embrace JinkoSolar, JA Photo voltaic, LONGi Photo voltaic, Trina Solar, BYD, Hanwha Q Cells, and Canadian Photo voltaic, all of whom are SEIA members. lga airport to nyc transportation is at about 28 %, and Trina and JA, which have been cited for dumping more severely, are much larger. In 2020, China started more coal plants than the world decommissioned mixed, much of it in the solar-producing area. It might signal bigger problems down the road, because the FCC seems to free up extra spectrum for commercial use. I did not see anyone else use their smartphone or watch to pay for their ride. Whereas all of those media stories, politicians, and assorted groups both quote or borrow heavily from the narrative of the Photo voltaic Energy Industries Association, at no time do they disclose that among its main members are the identical Chinese-owned firms which can be implicated not solely in the investigation of unlawful tariff evasion, however in using slave labor to produce photo voltaic components and coal-fired power to power the factories. Over the previous few weeks, one trade group in Washington has triggered a media firestorm about a Commerce Department investigation into trade violations on imports of solar panel elements.
The Division of Finance collects property taxes. Ahead prices for corporate power buy agreements are up 103 % in recent months, in line with a Bloomberg New Energy Finance survey. 19.Eight percent, based on figures from the Vitality Data Administration. As Bloomberg has reported, 22 senators from both parties have pleaded with President Biden to expedite matters at Commerce; key officials inside the administration like local weather envoy John Kerry have lobbied for a similar. Airline stocks were blended Wednesday on news that 10 carriers including all the largest ones struck deals with the Trump administration to get coronavirus-relief funds. The limited ones do not cease at every stop. ” But once more, if there was nothing to worry about from this investigation, there wouldn’t be any need for corporations to right away cease transport components to the U.S. But there are a number of factors beyond the anti-dumping investigation for the lack of shipments. The Commerce Division investigation involves attempts by Chinese-owned companies to evade anti-dumping. “Sam Ruda has led the Port Division during one of many most crucial durations in its history,” mentioned Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole.
Get to know what introduced these veterans to the Port Authority. The port has many sunken ships, a few of which can be seen, others that lie on the flooring of the ports waterways. As an alternative, Ms. Halem finally ends up ordering automobiles using Lyft, which might price nearly $50 for a experience, or virtually twice what she paid before the pandemic. We are still dwelling through a pandemic that revealed the dangers of centralizing production. That lesson has implications for solar, even outdoors of the environmental and human rights issues of leaving all manufacturing to China. Even before the war, European photo voltaic wholesale costs were rising, thanks to tight gas supplies. Thanks for reading, Shari. Wanaque, at West Brook Road & Route 511 for Stonetown Circular Trail & many trails in Norvin Inexperienced State Forest (Wyanokies). Countervailing duties (Ad/CVD) positioned on solar imports from China back in 2012. The main tactic is to route exports by third countries not topic to the duties, and pretend that the merchandise originate there.
