And then there is the thing with the guests... AND I RECORDED THE WHOLE THING. And a interesting thing is that they actually had a small talk show... Not at the end of the musical like Anza & co. had the Special Live in the middle of the musical like they had with Riona in the previous performance I went to see. So it features the Amour Eternal & Le Mouvement Final Inners, Yume Takeuchi(Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury), Karen Kobayashi(Rei Hino/Sailor Mars), Kaede(Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter) AND Rimo😍Hasegawa(Minako Aino/Sailor Venus). Apparently Hotaru Nomoto(AE-LMF Sailor Moon) was supposed to come but wasn't able to due to time management issues but she wrote a letter which Yume read. So Ms. Frozen asked them few behind the scene questions from their performances(which I'll go intro greater detail on a later post) And gosh Rimo was being so chaotic I loved it💛💛

While I'm very happy about it, it makes me wonder why Anza & co. didn't have a talk show... What a missed opportunity

AND They performed Speed of Light at the end of it. (starts around 21:45) So while they may not have sang multiple songs like Anza & co. I think it's safe to say that the other guests also sang something (hopefully other songs than Moonlight Densetsu tho)

They also appeared at the end and danced the end part of Moonlight Densetsu!

Krieg der Gedanken - Was ist das "Projekt Brainstorm"?

Stell dir vor, du könntest deine Gedanken, Gefühle und Träume aufzeichnen und abspielen wie ein Video oder eine Tonaufnahme. Der ehrgeizigen Wissenschaftlerin Dr. Lillian Reynolds und ihrem Team gelingt dies in dem Science Fiction Film "Brainstorm", der 1983 in den Kinos lief und damals an den Kinokassen floppte. Die Technologie der Story sei zu banal, die Charaktere hätten keine Tiefe. Nun, betrachten wir diesen 40 Jahre alten Film, der einer meiner ersten Science Fiction Filme überhaupt war, und der trotz Kino-Flop einige Rekorde gebrochen hat: Er ist nicht nur einer der am meisten im TV gezeigten Filme sondern zählt zu den von mir persönlich am häufigsten angeschauten Filme - noch vor "Zurück in die Zukunft" und "Star Trek".

Die Story: Einem Team von Wissenschaftlern unter der Leitung von Dr. Reynolds (gespielt von Louise Fletcher) und Dr. Brace (gespielt von Christopher Walken) gelingt es, eine Technologie zu entwickeln, mit der man die Gehirnwellen eines Menschen nicht nur registrieren, sondern auch auf ein Magnetband aufzeichnen kann: Körperreflexe, Geschmack, Geruch, Gehör, Tastsinn, visuelle Bilder - alles kann aufgezeichnet und für jeden, der das Band wieder abspielt, "nachempfunden" werden, und zwar "als wäre man selbst dabei" (Zitat aus dem Film). Man hat "sogar das Gefühl, gerade etwas gegessen zu haben", wenn aufgezeichnet wurde, dass etwas gegessen wurde.

Die Wissenschaftler arbeiten für die Firma "General Electric" unter der Leitung von Alex Terson (gespielt von Cliff Robertson), der die Technologie für eine kommerzielle Nutzung marktreif sehen und "die Kommunikation in eine neue, nie da gewesene Dimension katapultieren" möchte.

Lillian und auch ihr Kollege Michael sehen dies eher kritisch, beugen sich jedoch ihrem Chef, der ihnen Mittel zur Verfügung stellt, ihre Erfindung zu perfektionieren. Dabei holt er auch Karen Brace, Michaels Frau ins Team. Die beiden haben sich getrennt und stehen kurz vor der Scheidung.

Einige entscheidende Szenen machen die Tragweite der Erfindung deutlich: Das Militär ist an der Erfindung zur Nutzung von Gedankenkontrolle und Gehirnwäsche interessiert, Dr. Reynolds wird als fanatische, herzkranke Wissenschaftlern immer verbissener und gestresster und wehrt sich gegen die Pläne ihres Chefs Alex ihr Projekt dem Militär zu überlassen.

Im Zuge dessen gelingt es ihr und Alex die "Gedankenmaschine" so zu modifizieren, dass auch "tief liegende Gedanken und Gefühle" aufgezeichnet und abgespielt werden können. Auf diesem Wege kommen Karen und Michael wieder zusammen, indem Michael alte Erinnerungen an glücklichere Tage Karen mit dem Gerät vorspielt. "Ich dachte, du würdest mich nicht mehr lieben" sagt Karen und beide zeigen, dass sie immer noch genauso füreinander empfinden als damals, wo sie sich ineinander verliebt haben. Zentral ist hier der Ort, wo die Brüder Wright ihr ersten ersten Flug mit einem Flugapparat geschafft haben als Metapher auf wissenschaftlichen Fortschritt, aber auch auf das Leben der Protagonisten.

"Du kannst uns gratulieren - wir haben es geschafft.", sagt Michael Brace in einer Szene und prostet einem Foto von Albert Einstein zu, das neben einem Modell des Wright Flugapparates hängt.

Doch der wissenschaftliche Ehrgeiz seiner Kollegin Dr. Lillian Reynolds überschreitet in einer alles sich wendenden Szene des Films eine Grenze, die vielleicht nicht überschritten werden sollte: Lillian erleidet einen Herzinfarkt, während sie mitten in der Nacht völlig alleine im Labor ist. Sie begibt sich unter Schmerzen und mit letzter Kraft zum Gedanken-Aufzeichnungs-Gerät, setzt das "Headset" auf und aktiviert das Gerät. Während sie den tödlichen Herzinfarkt erleidet und danach einen endlos scheinenden Moment der Stille ins scheinbar "Leere" starrt sieht man nur das Gerät auf "Aufnahme" laufen.

Das Finale des Films beschäftigt sich damit, dass Dr. Brace dieses "Todesband", welches Lillian ihm hinterlassen hatte, abspielen will und auch, Alex´ Pläne, diese Technologie für Gehirnwäsche und Gedanken-Manipulation einzusetzen zu hindern.

Infos zum Film: Dieser Film brilliert vor allem durch Bilder, Szenen und geschickt eingesetze, klassische Musik. Es gibt keinen echten Bösewicht, auch die Vertreter des Militärs können nicht als "Bösewichte" deklariert werden, sondern es geht den Protagonisten vor allem um wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse und die Frage, wie weit diese vom Menschen eingesetzt werden sollten. So wird in dem Film nichts "erklärt", sondern gezeigt. Es bleibt dem Zuschauer überlassen, wie er die "Gedankenbilder" von Lillians Todesband sich erklärt oder welche Auswirkungen dies auf das menschliche Gehirn allgemein haben könnte.

Brainstorm wurde größtenteils in Super Panavision 70 mm gedreht und war sowohl inhaltlich als auch technisch seiner Zeit weit voraus. Der Film entstand in zwei Prozessen: im Format 1,85:1 (35 mm) für die Realszenen und im Format 2,20:1 (70 mm Super Panavision) für die „Brainstorm“-Szenen des Gerätes.

James Horner komponierte die düstere musikalische Untermalung des Films und nahm diese in Hollywood mit einem Studio-Orchester auf.

Projekt Brainstorm war Natalie Woods letzter Film. Kurz vor Ende der Dreharbeiten kam sie am 29. November 1981 bei einem mit ihrem Ehemann Robert Wagner und ihrem Filmpartner Christopher Walken durchgeführten Bootsausflug unter ungeklärten Umständen zu Tode.

Christopher Walken war im selben Jahr 1983 auch in der Stephen King Verfilmung "The Dead Zone" und 1985 als James Bond Supergangster Zorin in "Im Angesicht des Todes" sowie in unzähligen anderen Filmen zu sehen.

Louise Fletcher erhielt u.a. 1976 einen Oscar für ihre Rolle als Krankenschwester in "Einer flog über das Kuckucksnest", war in vielen weiteren Filmen und Serien - u.a. in "Star Trek Deep Space Nine" und zuletzt in "Grizzly 2" (einem großartigen SchleFaZ) zu sehen.

Abschließend kann man über den Film sagen, dass er zu unrecht gefloppt ist. Seine Thematik war vielleicht seiner Zeit noch zu weit voraus. In Zeiten von der regelrechten Sucht nach Social Media und Selbstdarstellung gewinnt das Thema des Films vielleicht eine Aktualität, die er damals noch nicht hatte. Der Gedanke, man könne seine Gedanken, Gefühle, Träume und Ängste nicht nur aufzeichnen, sondern auch noch über der Internet mit der ganzen Welt teilen, ist zutiefst erschreckend, aber im Angesicht des realen technologischen Fortschrittes gar nicht so abwegig.
