⠀⠀⠀⠀"if it isn't michael kaiser." the said german prodigy walks through the doors of mae's lab, getting multiple stares and waves from all students alike. he bares his signature smile as he strides towards mae who was near the center of the room, arms crossed against the other with as she reciprocates his smile with her own.

"one and only." kaiser stands in front of mae who clicks her tongue, kicking herself off from leaning on the table before nodding her head and gathering her belongings. he's lucky she had also finished cleaning her station before the time was up too. her lab finishes at 10:30, and she couldn't bare to be late to her next class.

"don't have class?" mae asks, ignoring all the stares and whispers everyone was gossiping about the two of them. even her lab partner was felt speechless to see that the two of them were on speaking terms after his rejection during mid game a few weeks ago.

"i finished early, thought i'd go see the glory of japan herself." he had his way with his words, mae knew that from all the flirty texts they had exchanged over the phone, but this being one of the few times they actually communicated in person it was almost laughable, in a cute way. she rolls her eyes, putting the binder into her bag, "aren't you sweet. i must live in your mind rent free~"

"wouldn't have it any other way." mae turns around to a sly smirk dancing on his lips, he too found her amusing. the fact she didn't stutter nor melt in his presence was more than enough for him to assume she was enough to even speak to someone like him. the dancer grabs hold of her bag, slinging it over her shoulder and with a breathe taken out from her lips from exhaustion, "well, since you're here, escort me to my next class."

"demanding, aren't you?" kaiser chuckles at such a request, it sounding more than a need than a question. mae let's out a small grin, walking pass him, "not really. pretty boys like you do them without me having to ask." she stops a few steps ahead of kaiser, multiple other bodies passing her to exit the room as she turns to look at him. "so, you coming?"

the football player stares slightly agape at mae, eyes widening only a few centimetres to show his surprise— to how bold she was. it was almost refreshing, not many people could make him want to know more than mae has ever done. "geil."

kaiser walks forward to walk beside mae, following her out the door to where ever she needed to go next. many people stared at them, since they were such an odd pair and it was the first that mae was actually hanging out with someone outside the dance team, or the people she talked to from the volleyball team.

"what class did you have?" mae shrugs all the judging looks away, glancing at kaiser beside her who was also ignoring the looks of the crowd. "english."

"that subject's not hard. i'm sure with your looks you could persuade the teacher to pass you." the girl smiles innocently, though her words were easily jabbing at him in a not so friendly but teasing way. kaiser feigns being hurt, hand over his heart and pouts, "ouch, you think i'm failing?"

"oh, no, i just assumed since football is your only livelihood. you saying you're failing is something you said not me." sarcasm drips from her lips like honey laced with toxins, but kaiser was far from poisoned or bewitched by such words.

"sly mouth you got there. i wonder what else you could do with it." he raises a brow in amusement, clearly impressed how she could easily play verbal mind games with him as if it was chess. the girl chuckles, "lots of things."

"let's put it to the test one day."

"sure, if you're ever able to touch me that is."

"mae!" the sound of her name bursts the atmosphere that the two had originally, one that no one could easily have entered. mae’s head turns towards to a specific chestnut dancer of hers, "hey, kiyuri."

the two had stood in front of the door of mae’s class, kiyuri being caught off guard when kaiser also glances his head her way. "o-oh, kaiser?" she was distraught and surprised, not too sure on how to act since it was the first they had an encounter like this.

"yeah, he walked me to class." mae explains as she points her thumb at at kaiser, smiling at her dance mate. kiyuri scratches her cheek awkwardly, "i can see that..."

"this is my vice-captain, sarumi kiyuri. we take biochem together." as mae introduces the two of them they quickly exchange hellos, waving and kiyuri nodding her head in her way to express a small bow of greetings.

just as mae was to continue on with the conversation, her phone notification is heard through the trio. the two athletes stop and stare at mae’s pocket, waiting for her to check out what it was as she smiles rather forcefully to take away all the awkwardness.

"we just got our date for qualifiers." the email of their acceptance, time, location and other information is seen in the email that mae has received. kiyuri let’s put an excited gasp, taking out her phone as well to send the news to their other dance mates. "that's great! i'll let the groupchat know, when is it?"

"in two weeks." just right after mae had sent the details to the group chat and everyone celebrating to hear the news, kaiser had seen a glance of her messages. in that moment he remembers something; "that reminds me." kaiser snatches mae’s phones from her hands and she blinks, not really reacting in a negative way as she scoffs at the boy. "rude much."

she turns her head to see what he was up to, watching as he extends his arm and quickly takes a selfie. he presses a few more buttons on her phone before returning the device to mae, "as promised." she looks at the contact information that she had for kaiser, now having a photo for the said contact.

"awh, you look like that fuckin' mr koolaid man, so cute." she giggles, lifting up her phone and pointing at the selfie that kaiser had taken in a teasing matter. though rather than be offended, kaiser took out his phone and pointed at the profile picture he had of mae who was eating. "stop it~ and here you look like a chubby rabbit that turned into the marshmallow man. aren't you adorable?"

Elshe nodded, poured chocolate liquid into the empty glasses, covered the fire with a transparent cone with a cut top, and spread a blanket on the grass. Kiyuri stood up, reached for his glass, and took a sip. Today, Kiyuri decided to drink slowly, feeling and remembering the changes in his mind. The world around him began to spin slowly. -Can you not run around me? - smiling asked the young man sitting next to Elshe. The handsome man stretched out, exhaled a velvety languid moan, he was sure that he was hanging in the air, above the mat. It was calm and pleasant. It seemed to Kiyuri that just a little more, and he would understand all the secrets of existence. Maybe even he can come back to reality. Yes, he needed it, he wanted to take a break from his thoughts, thoughts that bothered, annoyed, much less were pleasant. He would have wanted to see so few people in reality, next to him … The light, lulling darkness was cut through by Elshe's dark gaze. Kiyuri smiled. Elshe turned out to be a thought about reality. “I wonder what your name is,” Kiyuri asked, but did not hear his own voice, only some kind of velvety, viscous cooing. “Maybe it’s my voice, I just don’t remember it,” Kiyuri thought. The man silently smiled, took Kiyuri's hand in his and pulled the young man up into the night sky with him. "You're just like alive," Kiyuri decided not to speak out it loud, thoughts often were offended when they were called thoughts.

Tale of the Nine Tailed: Eps 15-16 Predictions

Unfortunately as TOTNT draws to an end, so shall these posts! This will probably be my last post concerning TOTNT unless there is something of great importance that happens in the finale that would warrant a discussion. Overall, everything in the series made sense if you actually did your fair share of research of mythology from around the world. Anyways, I will try to make this post as short as possible for your sake and mine!

Predictions Based on Ep 15 Preview

One Last Date

There’s not much to say about this portion except that Ji Ah and Lee Yeon just go on one last date before everything blows up!

Let’s Get Sato’s Moon Mirror

The Imoogi will go to get Sato’s Moon Mirror by killing him. Based on this scene, it looks like this will occur in a bathroom (notice the paper towel dispenser and mirror?).

Hello Mother, It Has Been A Long Time

The Imoogi spirit has been inhabiting Bok Gil’s immortal body. Taluipa will be shocked to see that her dead son body was being used by the Imoogi. Out of anger, she will try to turn him into stone. However, since Terry now has the Moon Mirror, he will use it to deflect Taluipa’s Medusa stone turning power. This will cause her to turn into stone instead.

After killing Taluipa, Terry will change Ji Ah’s death date to ensure that his other half can now live freely. Then Terry reunites with Ji Ah outside of the Office of the Afterlife to go over the next part of their plan.

Betrayed On All Sides

Lee Yeon not having been aware of what all has happened, will return to his apartment. It is there that he will see Ji Ah standing at the window. Ji Ah will turn around to reveal she’s once again taken over by the Imoogi. At that moment, Lee Rang, Shin Ju, and the Snail Bride will sneak attack Lee Yeon to get his body. Lee Yeon escapes by knocking them all out.

Final Showdown

Lee Yeon realizes the Terry Imoogi has betrayed him so Lee Yeon decides to head to the Office of the Afterlife to stop him once and for all. Lee Yeon will find that Taluipa has now been turned into stone at her desk (see Taluipa’s stone statue in red circle).

As Lee Yeon is fighting Terry Imoogi, Ji Ah Imoogi arrives at the scene and blocks Lee Yeon from stabbing Terry Imoogi (see red arrow of Terry hiding behind Ji Ah Imoogi).

Ji Ah temporarily regains control of her body and tries to end her life with the CEO’s gun. Also, note the brown couch (red arrow) in the background of Ji Ah, showing that this occurs at the Office of the Afterlife. Ji Ah will fail at killing herself because either Terry Imoogi has stopped her or the Imoogi inside of her has gain back control.

Save Yuri or Save Lee Yeon

Lee Rang wakes up and immediately heads to the Office of the Afterlife where Yuri is there to stop him. Her eyes look pretty dead so my guess is that she’s probably being compelled by the Imoogi to block Lee Rang’s path to Lee Yeon.

Lee Rang is faced with an obstacle similar to what Lee Yeon had to face 600 years ago, which is who to save when both people are considered equally as precious. I think Lee Rang will probably knock Yuri out or maybe Shin Joo will if he tags along with Lee Rang to the office.

Lee Yeon’s Decision

Lee Yeon will decide to go through with his original plan of taking Ji Ah’s half into himself. Lee Rang arrives at that very moment and is faced with having to kill his brother. However, I don’t think Lee Rang will be mentally strong enough to do it. Possessed Lee Yeon will then stab Lee Rang. Following this, Lee Yeon will temporarily gain back control of his body long enough to get to the River Styx.

I’ll Chase You Like You Chased Me at the River Styx

This scene of Ji Ah running in the Office of the Afterlife seems like it happens right after Lee Yeon has taken the Imoogi piece out of her (notice that she no longer has scales on her face or neck). Ji Ah is probably running towards the River Styx to prevent Lee Yeon from jumping into it. This parallels to past when Lee Yeon was running to the River Styx to save Ah Eum’s soul.

Everyone Has Been A Puppet

There are no coincidences in TOTNT. Every single character has been a puppet in King Yeomra’s grand scheme of finding his perfect replacement. From legends, it is told that King Yeomra was the first to have faced death. In doing so, Yeomra became the King of the Underworld. In Yeomra’s eyes, the candidate best suited to take over his position should also have to face a similar situation. Therefore, Lee Yeon will prove himself worthy by jumping into the River Styx.

Morals of the Story

1) People who remain good despite experiencing tragedies in their lives will get rewarded

2) Bad people are given opportunities to change their terrible fate by doing good deeds

3) Bad people who do not change their ways despite being given opportunities to do so will meet the ultimate punishment (being erased from existence entirely)

Final Outcomes for TOTNT Characters

Everyone will get a happy ending except the Imoogi!

Lee Yeon becomes the next King Hades

Ji Ah becomes an immortal, takes over Taluipa’s job, and she has a kid with Lee Yeon

Taluipa gets brought back to life and decides to leave her job to focus on repairing her relationship with Hyun Ui Ong

Bok Gil may or may not come back to life. I’m just not sure if his soul will remain once the Imoogi leaves his body. Although it would be nice if in the end Hyun Ui Ong gets back both his wife and son.

Shin Joo and Yuri have a happily ever after and many fox babies

Lee Rang lives a long happy life being Kim Soo Oh’s father

Ji Ah’s two coworkers will date or get married and live after happily ever after

Snail Bride gets her husband back and they too live happily ever after

Ji Ah’s parents live out what remains of their lifespan. When they do die, they will die knowing that their daughter will always have a life that is blessed with a family of her own

⠀⠀⠀⠀"that stupid arisaki won't know what came at him~" mae looks at the tweets of how many fans and people alike were congratulating them on their advance for quarterfinals in their group. though she bared such a beautiful smile that would many fall head over heels for her, shohei couldn't help but see the dark and sinister vibe she gave. the vice captain clicks his tongue, "nasty smile you got there."

mae ignores his words, shutting her phone off and directing her attention to her other vice captain, "hey, kiyuri." the lets out an audible 'yeah' that was more of a groan than anything else, also checking on the tweets. "your ex is a bitch." kiyuri's lips lay flat as she blankly stares at her captain's smile, "thanks."

"mae!" all three leaders of the dance team quickly turn their heads to a rather… unexpected voice. eyes landing on a football player in the crowd, one that was surrounded by gossiping fangirls. kiyuri blinks at the sight, "is that... kaiser?"

"yeah, it is... how interesting." mae moves her feet to walk towards kaiser, leaving behind shohei and kiyuri who look at each other suspiciously. when the football player notices the dancer’s advance he himself walks over to her, meeting in the middle of the distance that separates them.

"what brings you here?" mae teasingly raises her brow as she sees the bouquet of flowers in his hands. "who else? for you, of course." kaiser urges her to grab the colours of petals from him, one which she gladly took. "flowers too? danke."

"congratulations on your advance, liebe." kaiser grabs hold of mae’s hand and kissing the back of her palm— much like how they first met. she laughs, "we'll win all japan, so stick around to watch it happen." her free hand balls into a fist as she playfully punches kaiser’s chest. the boy chuckles and gives her a closed eyes smile, "i'll make sure to watch all your performances."

"so tell me, what do you want?" after they exchanged their greetings, mae got straight to the point of the conversation. "i know you skipped football practice for this."

"now, who told you that?" slightly taken aback at her blunt response, he’s more amused than shocked to hear it coming from mae. she winks at him, hiding half of her face in front of the bouquet with a small giggle. "that's a secret~ can't snitch on my spy like that."

"whatever you say." kaiser sighs, "how about we celebrate this victory of yours? on me, of course."

"cute. it's a date then."
