From the upcoming next chapter of Sins of the Fathers:

Azula found herself staring at the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors in her formal robes and makeup. Her heart beat more furiously than it usually did, not the bad kind of....everything...when Grandfather taught her lessons. Her gaze was wide-eyed and she fidgeted a bit, as the Kyoshi Warrior took her own measure.

Her eyes were initially wide too, and then they narrowed slightly before she scratched her head and then they went much wider.

"Oh," she heard the girl say in a beautiful voice as she seemed to flush, though Azula couldn't see it behind makeup.

"You OK?" Ty Lee's question jolted her and she breathed a bit of blue fire in a startled squawk. Her smile was wide.

"Agni's eyes," she said with a teasing lilt in her voice. "Do you have a crush?"

Azula shook her head. "N-No."

Ty Lee grinned more widely, "Oh you *do* have a crush. Wow. Escape the Palace and already finding people." She gave Azula a friendly nudge, and then her voice spoke much more seriously.

"You'll be fine here. The Earth Kingdom doesn't have laws like Sozin's, and I don't think Tzhuki or Suko or whatever her name was was that objecting to it."

Azula flushed more and scuffed the ground a bit as Ty Lee laughed, musically, pulling her into a big hug.

How long will they last? -I'm torn- part of me is like 'forever' but boy can I see them as also being this amazing couple who break up, not because they don't love one another- but because the long distance is too hard to maintain- also I love a good Sokka and Suko are besties forever vibe- and this is a dynamic I love in a bunch of Zukka fics where the two are still amazing exes

How quickly did/will they fall in love? -It was major crush vibes within a day of knowing one another- I think they felt it was love after they saw one another again the earth kingdom- and it escalated to them knowing it was love by the time they were in the fire nation.

How was their first kiss? we saw it in the earth kingdom - is was passionate, caring, and raw

Who proposed? -Sokka

Who is the best man/men? -Aang and Zuko

Who is the braid’s maid(s)? -Kyoshi warriors

Who did the most planning? -Sokka because he cares about good and flowers- while Suki mostly was just like 'as long as it feels like home and the people I love are there I don't care' and sokka is like 'you'll care when you see the meat platters I'm planning! :)'

Who stressed the most? -Sokka bc he's always stressed

How fancy was the ceremony? - Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.

Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? -azula

Sex:

Who is on top? Suki a lot of the time- it's easier on Sokka's bad leg and he loves the view- but sometimes Sokka is on top. Dynamics wise it's a total coin toss

Who is the one to instigate things? Sokka it like 65% of the time.

How healthy is their sex life? - Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now

Who is the more loved parent? -equal

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? sokka loves this sort of thing

Who cried the most at graduation? -sokka

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? -suki

Cooking:

Who does the most cooking? -sokka

Who is the most picky in their food choice? -sokka

Who does the grocery shopping? -equal

How often do they bake desserts? -not that often do they bake it themselves- sokka like savory cooking and rarely bakes- suki isn't much for the kitchen at all

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? -meat for sokka, something in between for suki

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? -sokka

Who is more likely to suggest going out? -suki

Who is more likely to burn the house down accidently while cooking? -sokka has terrible luck so I lean towards him for that and not his cooking skills

Chores:

Who cleans the room? -suki is good at keeping things neat- sokka is chaos and tons of stuff - but he knows EXACTLY where to find the green hair tie suki is looking for- it's next to the papers, under the bed, next to a large rock model Toph gave him.

Who is really against chores? -Sokka loves to moan about them

Who cleans up after the pets? Sokka- momo becomes his over the years

Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? Suki- which sokka is SHOCKED by

Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? Sokka bc stress is his normal resting place

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? Suki

Misc:

Who takes the longer showers/baths? Sokka

Who takes the dog out for a walk? Equal

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? either it's nothing for like 4 years or they go HAM (aka sokka goes HAM)

What are their goals for the relationship? -

Zuki/Suko is an interesting ship to categorize within the parameters of the ask.

On the one hand, it does present unique possibilities for fanfic. The classic bodyguard scenario is even better when there’s personal history beforehand, both good and bad, as well as them having such high statuses (fire lord and head of the Kyoshi Warriors). I could easily see a skilled writer doing something great with that concept.

On the other hand, I don’t care for the comics, and I am aware that it’s kind of been teased or something like that in them. It’s not the ship’s fault, but proximity to those comics does harm the vibes. I’ve also only read one fic for the ship, and that was basically just pwp, and it badmouthed Sokka, which is always a big no-no for me.

On the whole, I’ll give the ship the thumbs up. The potential is good enough that a good writer could possibly work past my feelings towards the comics. If anyone has a strong recommendation, I’ll gladly accept it.

I think fire nations Sokka - water tribe Zuko swap is my favorite of your AUs. Can I add that too the list? I know you just did one but you left us on a cliffhanger.

I actually didn't realize so many people would take the third post as such a cliffhanger. I structured it as one, but the second link is a drabble in which Suko is safely back with his sister and Aang, and the show itself has Aang temporarily captured by Zuko and rescued by Sokka and Katara at the same place in the timeline, so I figured that everybody would pick up on my using that same story beat in a slightly altered form. So I want to apologise for accidentally stringing you along.

Anyway, since I did already talk a bit about the Southern Air Temple, let's skip ahead to Kyoshi Island, the first and easiest of the many places where Suko has to decide whether to hide his firebending, or to use it to protect himself and his sister.

Aang heads to the island to ride the elephant-koi, a project that gets derailed by the Unagi. He's still licking his wounds when the Kyoshi Warriors get the jump on them and tie them up. The problem is that Suko is pretty sure he can burn through the ropes holding them, but that would reveal he's a firebender. But considering that they're talking about throwing them to the Unagi, what do they have to loose?

But then Aang reveals he's the Avatar, and suddenly he's the town celebrity, and Suko is left ranting angrily at the chief about his immigration and tourist policies, while Oyaji reassures him that his daughter was just having a little bit of fun with them, and they don't actually throw people to the Unagi unless they actually are Fire Nation agents.

Suko resolves that none of them will ever learn he is a firebender. Surely that's the safest strategy, and it's not like anything on this peaceful island with actually make him...

Okay there you go, in return for the fake out cliffhanger before, here is a real one.
