Cows milk was made by nature for calves not humans!! Cow’s milk contains casein, a drug-like chemical that is addictive, so as to keep calves coming back for milk. But do we need casein? Well since this protein has been linked to cancer, food addictions, diabetes, etc, the answer is obviously not..! We weren’t designed to consume milk from our mothers after weaning, so why would we then breastfeed from another species? we are supposed to get our calcium, vit D and protein from other sources, just like all mammals. Cows are kept pregnant constantly to keep up milk supplies. so you are also drinking extra hormones from pregnant, lactating cows. Millions of humans suffer lactose intolerance, Lactose is a sugar in milk that’s hard to digest and high in calories. Skim milk is not low calorie, despite marketing claims, It contains 12-13 grams of sugar, from lactose. This contributes to higher insulin levels, and added calorie intake. A glass of unsweetened almond milk on the other hand and you’re looking at 30 calories, 0 grams of sugar, 50 percent more calcium than dairy milk, and only 2 grams of fat. Dairy is linked to osteoporosis and bone loss. A study published by JAMA Pediatrics this year, followed over 100,000 men and women for more than two decades, from teenage into adulthood. They found those who consumed dairy had no greater protection against fractures or bone loss compared to those who didn’t. A study in The BMJ ( a peer-reviewed medical journal) found that dairy was associated with a much greater risk of bone fractures and death. Milk processing contributes to levels of CO2 from greenhouse gas emissions, which causes climate change. The dairy industry try to make you think you need milk but you don’t..
