Manny’s Broken Horn Theories

Now that we know that Manny will get some kind of focus episode(s) in the near future, I’ll jot down some of my theories on how his left horn got broken.

Established Facts

Some information courtesy of Shea Fontana’s Twitter that will help inform these theories:

Manny “was raised by his grandmoo and grandbull”

Manny wants to be a veterinarian

Upcoming episodes will reveal that some currently established characters have invisible disabilities

Manny’s new iteration was designed with a conscious effort not to equate being large with being a jerk

Theories

Currently, the theory I find most likely is that Manny was involved in some kind of accident or targeted attack that both broke his horn and killed his parents, thus explaining why he’s been raised by his grandparents. This incident could have thus left him with lasting trauma that gives him nightmares, which could be something Twyla sees and helps him with when she enters his dreams in “Boogey Nightmare”. As seen with Lagoona’s strained family, the show isn’t averse to portraying unfortunate familial circumstances that real kids that watch the show have to live with, so having lost both of one’s parents fits in my opinion. Maybe the accident/attack somehow involved an animal (the equivalent of hitting a deer?), and it ties into his desire to be a veterinarian?

Second theory is that Manny’s effeminate mannerisms (you all saw the way he ran does the stairs and squeed in “The Case of the Missing Squeak”) made his father abuse him for not being masculine enough, to the point of breaking his horn. Eventually his father lost custody and Manny lived with his grandparents since. I find this theory less likely because it feels a bit too much for the show to delve into, even with the above point (especially with how Toralei’s mother & Heath’s fathers are most certainly getting improvement arcs, so an unredeemed abuser feels out of place).

Least compelling & interesting theory was just that Manny was bullied by monsters even bigger than him and they broke his horn. Shrug.

This is an outdated theory now that I’ve gotten to see Manny some more and learned that he was specifically designed with a conscious effort not to equate being large with being a jerk, but I figure I’d include it here for AU fuel and posterity: in the past, Manny used to be more like his G1 counterpart, a bully. Eventually he got into a fight with someone that could hit back, and his horn was broken. After some kind of wake-up call, he turned himself around and became a kind academic.

A 12 hour flight and one taxi ride to Tokyo Dome later, I found myself walking around backstage while waiting for my boyfriend to come back from his match.

Riley needed this, this reassurance. The certainty that I was indeed madly in love with him as much as he was with me. The certainty that the past was just that - the past, with no room for it being the present again or a possible future.

His over excited voice echoed through the hallway before he turned the corner to find me standing close to the Bullet Club’s locker room doors. Riley’s blue eyes lightened up once he saw me and a wide smile took over his lips “Holy shit! What are you doing here?!” His long legs ran towards me before he picked me up in his arms and captured my lips in a deep kiss.

The sweat from his torso stained the front of my red t-shirt and I could feel a pair of gray eyes deadly staring at us.

“This is G1’s week! The most important week of your career! And since I’m on vacation from work I thought it would be a good idea to stop by for some emotional support”

“Why didn’t you tell me they were gonna give you your vacation this month?! You’re spending the whole month here with me?”

“Yeah. And to be fair I wanted it to be a surprise so…” I smiled widely before brushing his wet hair away from his forehead “Are you ok with having me as a roommate for a month?”

A small snort left Riley’s lips “Oh no, that will be a nightmare! Replacing Ishimori’s loud ass snoring and farts for your gorgeous face and delicious body will be a real struggle. I honestly don’t know if I can handle that” He sighed heavily in fake disappointment before I giggled “You’re so ridiculous”.

Riley’s loud shocked gasp made my giggle turn into a loud laugh

“I thought you loved my sense of humor!”

“I do, my love” I pecked his lips “I really do”

One of the production assistants called for him while pointing at a door down the hall. Riley nodded once before placing me down on the floor “Look, I have to shoot a promo real quick, do you mind waiting for me here?”

“No, not at all. Go ahead, don’t keep them waiting too long”

“Thank you” He pecked my lips “I’ll be back in a blink”

The minute he ran towards the door where he would shoot the promo, I turned around to find the same gray eyes still staring at me.

The eyes I once loved were filled with something I couldn’t quite read. Perhaps it was anger or jealousy, maybe even hurt, no one could really tell.

When it comes to Jay White, no one can tell what’s really going on inside his mind.

“Him?” He frowned “So you’re together now or what? Why am I only knowing about this - whatever it’s going on between the two of you - now?”

“And why would I or Riley tell you anything about our private lives?”

“Why him?”

“Why do you care?”

Jay’s jaw clenched when he didn’t get a proper answer “You know I care about you”

“Funny how your actions prove the exact opposite”

“What the fuck did you want me to do, huh?” He closed the distance between us “She was pregnant! What should I do? Kick her to the curb?”

“And conveniently enough she got pregnant when you asked me for some time apart”

“I’ve never cheated on you if that’s what you’re implying!”

“Right! You didn’t cheat on me, Jay. You just chose her instead”

“For fucks sake I didn’t choose shit! I had no choice, honeybee!”

“Stop calling me that!” I felt my jaw clenching with rage “And yes, you did! You had a choice, Jay. And you made your choice, now live with it!”

“What’s this, huh?” He pointed towards the direction Riley went “Is that your revenge? A little payback for what you think I did to you?”

“Do not assume that I would have a relationship with someone just to spite you, Jay. Trust me, you’re not that important”

A small laugh left his lips “Are you really trying to convince me that you have real feelings for him? Really? That loser? C’mon, bee. We both know he’ll never be on my level”.

The loud noise followed the burning feeling on Jay’s skin when my palm connected to his cheek, “You better watch your mouth! You will never be half of the man Riley is!” I pointed my index finger at his face “And I would be more respectful of his name when I’m around if I were you”

Jay opened his mouth to say something but a pair of hands pushed him away from me.

“What the fuck is your problem?!” Riley squared up to Jay and pulled me behind his back “Next time you get that close to her I’ll break your fucking neck!”

“Oh yeah? I’d like to see you try, tough boy!” Jay smirked “She was mine before being yours! As a matter of fact, she’s still mine. Because you’ll never own her the way I did and still do. But we both know that, don’t we?”

The growl that left Riley’s lips was a warning for the punch he was about to give in Jay’s face. I quickly pulled Riley away from the Bullet Club leader and placed myself in front of him in order to block his attempt of beating Jay up.

“Baby, look at me” I cupped his cheeks with my hands before pulling his head down “Rye, look at me!”

His blue eyes held a haze of confusion and pure rage “Don’t do it, he’s not worth it. C’mon, let’s go back to the hotel-“

“What’s the matter, huh? The great ELP can’t handle the truth?” Jay mocked “Or maybe he can’t handle some competition because deep down he knows he’ll end up being the loser he always is” Jay chuckled before taking a deep breath in “Can you smell it, Riley? Your despair sinking in? Your brain telling you that I’m right? That she IS mine and that she WILL come back to me? You know it’s just a matter of time, right?”

Unable to hear that anymore, I pulled Riley away from the locker room and towards the parking lot while Jay kept screaming behind us.

“That’s right, you little bitch. Run! Run, Riley. And enjoy your last days with her because soon enough she’ll come back to me!”

Yeah lol

Really though, for context. I bought a G3 pony in 2013 when I lived in Beijing. I found it in a marker and just... I dunno, I felt something really special. And then FiM was super popular then and I had started watching it before i even left for china, like, 2011 or 2012 or something. And I went with my first real boyfriend and blablabla I met him at 17 and he was 25 and I thought it was love or whatever and so when he broke up with me I was just. Devastated. Worst period of depression in my life. One night I was sobbing and wailing in bed so badly a neighbor banged on the wall and told me to shut up.

I also didn't have any friends and wasn't speaking to my parents and I was living alone and making decent money and had just. No hobbies or interests. I didn't do anything. I decided I wanted to collect ponies so. I did. I just bought everything. And yeah tbh at the time it felt good and I thoroughly enjoyed owning them at the time. I don't regret buying them or anything. It's just been a decade now and I'm ready to move on and let them go, and focus on things I care more about now.

Also I didn't get rid of ALL my horses. I left all my favourites in my room to reorganize later! I still have most of my G1 ponies, all my G2 ponies, my favourite G3 ponies, and my favourite G4s! I kept a brushable of all of them mane 6 and several other faves. All my nightmare moons and Lunas. And all my Equestria girls minis, all of my welovefine figures, my sdcc vinyl scratch, my Funko pop vinyl figures.

If you've seen photos of my tf collection you'll see it's almost entirely loose figures lmfao. I prefer loose. Strongly prefer loose. But my horses like. At this point some are too valuable to even consider opening LOL

Pls explain the difference between legacy vs deluxe vs warrior class? I feel like they vaguely mean something related to combiners

Ahhh, anon! You have encountered the way in which Transformers is like Starbucks: completely non indicative names for sizes of things!

(OK, mostly. 'Legacy' is not a size class. Legacy is the current collector-oriented toyline, so called because it has toys in it from many different continuities.)

But the other ones here are the toys' size classes. Hasbro has a... semi consistent way to designate at a glance the rough size and price point of each toy. So any given toyline will have a class of toys that is, say, very small and around £11 a pop. And one that's average and £20 a pop. And so on.

.......they will have you BELIEVE that this makes things simple, as surely this way you will know, no matter different toylines, gimmicks, whatever, what Kind Of Toy any given product is! And what it will cost! Except in reality that "consistent" labelling is constantly changed in small ways between toylines, so remembering what means which price point in what toyline is a fucking nightmare.

Still. Generally, they are as follows:

There will be a very small 'pocket money' line of teeny tiny toys for cheap. Traditionally, these have been called 'legends' scale, and that is what the fandom uses regardless of what Hasbro is calling it this week, tbh. Recently, they're calling them 'core class'. For some bullshit marketing reason. These are little wee toys that you nag your Mum to buy you in the supermarket and sometimes she agrees to shut you up.

Next up is 'deluxe' class. These are the 'standard' size of toy, usually. Think of, oh I dunno, Jazz. A normal Jazz toy is a deluxe class. It's the usual scale for the average character and often makes up a bulk of the line. (I think this is what Earthspark's 'Warrior' class is- it was for Cyberverse.) wait no there are ALSO deluxes there.

Then you will usually find 'voyager' toys. These are still standard toys, but they're bigger! Sometimes it's because the character is a bigger character in fiction, to keep scale, but equally as often it's because these are popular characters who people want to see big, fancy toys of. You will get a lot of Voyager Megatrons! Or seekers, or whoever's a fan favourite at the moment! (...maybe this is the earthspark warrior class? those toys look bigger.)

Then you have what is usually called 'leader' class. This is called that because it is the Expensive Optimus And Megatron Toys class! (I kid. Sort of.) But also, again, big special one-offs will often go here, like when it was a Big Deal that Jetfire, a G1 favourite who rarely gets toys as big as his character is supposed to be, got a fancy Leader class toy recently. These are the toys you get as a big treat for Christmas as a kid.

Finally, in terms of now-standard sizes, you have 'titan' class. These toys are the fuck off huge £150 Metroplex ones that make everyone's wallets cry. They are pretty much exclusively just gonna be characters who are canonically so big that you gotta make toys of them an Event. These are the ones you buy and realise ah. Wait. I live in an apartment. Where does THIS go. Kids who get these are. IDK, lucky. LMAO.

This is not always the case, as I said toylines swap things around a bit terminology, but generally the above is a good guideline. You then get things where toyline gimmicks introduce other kinds of 'bonus' classes, e.g. smaller-than-legends toys in Siege for the battlemaster gimmick. (This is why e.g. Rung's toy is teeeeeeny tiny, smaller even than legends class; he's a battlemaster!)

One final point. I have been using 'size class' as a shorthand here, and usually, yes, it's size that matters. But more accurately, the things that dictate what class a toy is in are a) amount of plastic used (which usually, but not always, translates to 'size') and b) engineering complexity. When designing toys, the class they are in dictates how many individual parts, joints, etc the designers get to work with. So, for example, Studio Series 86 Hot Rod is a Voyager class, but much smaller than most Voyager toys. Why? He's really overengineered for his size to make him as perfect as possible in both modes and give him a ludicrously specific transformation scheme (so he matches an iconic scene in the 86 movie). You get the extra quality, rather than the extra size, for that one.

i would so move farther up north since rent is cheaper and there’s more nature but the issue is that i don’t have a fucking car (and am also only a g1 driver and barely even practicing my driving anymore) therefore the commute to both school and work (i’ll probably end up finding work in toronto and surrounding areas) will be 1-2 hrs and a nightmare.

so then i’m like well maybe i should stay in toronto and find something to rent here or in the gta, but then you have 1 bedrooms costing $2,500 the least and basements around that same ballpark, and i don’t want to live in a basement! and i don’t want to live in toronto either anymore!

so i’m like ok let’s not go super up North like “cottage county” Barrie, simcoe, etc but maybe Newmarket, aurora, or even whitchurch-stouffville which is also like 30-40 mins away up North BY CAR !!! so i still need a fucking car because relying on public transport is impossible; and then i see that the rent there is still the exact fucking same as it is in toronto, if not slightly less.

fuck this for real ❤️

since you asked some questions about my nice little, no-entity au here are your answers (and I forgot I gave Frank and Julie's kid a name *sob*, also the au currently takes place in 2012)

yes the incident at the hardware store did happen and they did get away with it. once they buried the body they had a big argument about it but in the end, Frank apologized to them and they had an agreement that killing people won't be often and that Julie and Frank would be the ones to spill blood and Joey and Susie would help get rid of any evidence.

yes sometimes they still think about the murder/murders they caused (sometime after the incident Julie killed some lady, Frank Killed a guy and Frank and Julie both killed somebody together) they sometimes even get nightmares about it, Frank and Julie did use to enjoy their kills but ever since they became parents, they don't really like to think about it anymore.

they all use to live together in a few apartments but when Frank and Julie discovered the fact that they were going to be parents, they decided to move out because I don't think Susie and Joey want to deal with a baby crying every night. So Frank and Julie moved into a nice house that was affordable.

yeah Danny is still the way that he is, he met Joey and Susie when they made their first comic and he made an article about it when he met them for the first time they felt some kind of weird connection as if he met them before. Danny's Friends with Joey and Suise but with Frank and Julie they kind-off have a friend-enemy-like relationship but he's not the biggest of their kid and Sarah hated Danny ever since she was a baby. when Danny was given a chance to hold baby Sarah, she instantly cried his arms and Danny wasn't allowed to hold her ever again one time Sarah managed to convince some of the kids to help her Gang up on Danny and attack him in the park, many of the parents were confused as why a bunch of kids attacked a 51-year-old man.

Susie and Joey really adore Sarah ever since she was born and Susie was crying when she first held baby Sarah, Joey tried not to cry but it didn't work <3 . Susie and Sarah would watch "my little pony: magic is Friendship" together, they would talk about mlp G4 and G1 and Susie even lets Sarah gently play with her old mlp collection. with Joey he's like the cool uncle, Sarah loves the comics he and Susie creates and she would always gets a copy of the new ones before they're released. Joey and Susie are particularly the people who would take care of Sarah if her parents are busy or if they want some couple time.

Awww this is all v cute, its v well thought out and honestly I can see a lot of this working! Honestly I'm just a sucker for anything Frank/Julie focused anyway, so call me biased, but jkfdslkfdsj I love this a lot ! I really appreciate the fact that you didn't have them just skip past their whole "murder shenanigans" n everything! ALSO DANNY BEFRIENDING SUSIE AND JOEY IS V GOOD! Also them being sweet with the kid is just lfdsjjlkfds, major aunt/uncle vibes and I adore that

Content warning!!

This is about last stand of the wreckers and it includes SPOILERS. I also really wished someone had warned me about how bad it gets. Honest to god I’m putting this under a cut because it deserves a trigger warning.

Warnings: violence, mentions of that one Saving Private Ryan scene, I shouldn’t have read the series at midnight.

The only reason idw hasn’t perished for being too gory is because they are robots not humans, Springer gets HIS FACE PUNCHED OFF and that scene where it’s finally explained by Ironfist via flashback what Impactor did- how jaded everyone but Springer was to his actions.

No one helped Springer, they watched as he desperately tried to save the Povans. I wanna hold that boy close now oh my god.

And oh my lord the TWO SIDEDNESS. Especially Rotormaster’s panels about being an excellent flier! And he just admits he was lying??? AND THEN GETS SHOT IN THE FACE??

Fun thing is: I connect with transformers more than I do with humans. Call it my autism or something but I would much rather live in a world where gender doesn’t exist and I’m a big tall robot. That being said, I think this hit me way harder than it should’ve.

Impactor in the beginning showing his weakness too. It’s not super obvious but you can tell he DOES NOT want to go back to g-9. He is traumatized and despite his literal war crimes I would give him a cup of chocolate milk. He needs to be comforted so bad. All of them do.

TW: death and Saving Private Ryan

There were only 4 deaths. Only 4 wrecker deaths and each one felt like my heart was being crushed. It was disgusting, vile, brutal just for the hell of it. I saw my favourite characters at their lowest. It was awful. The last time I felt like this I was watching the saving private Ryan D-Day scene. It didn’t make me cry but it gave me nightmares for three days. I really hope that sins of the wreckers is gentler.

The comic is a masterpiece and I commend the people who wrote it. The details and the writing made me feel for ironfist, pyro, and verity. Characters I did not know prior to reading the comic. I seriously felt like I was there with them and that’s probably the reason I was so affected by all the tragedy. I personally got to understand springer and Impactor a little better, and know why Fort Max goes into a fit in mtmte. I can’t be mad or upset about it because it was good- but I really think more fans should put warnings on the comics before you read them. I read some of the brutal DC comics and was not this affected by them. Probably something to do with attachment to the characters.

Still, I love it as much as I hate it. It really opened my eyes to how bad it gets in the war- as much as I want it to be the funni g1 stuff. IDW is great but I honestly think you should be over 16 to read that- I’m lucky I only read MTMTE when I was little.

Also this: I love prowl he’s my asshole. He makes calls for better or for worse and unfortunately he’s the guy you complain about when his call goes wrong. Still- I wanna kick his Praxian ass for not showing any empathy. Ultra Magnus is doing better than him (even tho I feel like he was kinda ooc)

Anyways that’s my two cents on Last Stand. It’s really bad but it’s done really well.

New Transformers Earthspark trailer

Watched it, loved it aside from a few things that are confusing the hell out of me. The things I loved though were Soundwave as a confirmed con and Arcee. Like yay!

The problems though...oh god...every bot on the show besides Megatron, Soundwave and a few of the humans have like this funky face design that looks like they weren't completely finished modelling them in whatever program they used. Everything else about their designs aside from one other issue is perfectly watchable but Optimus and Arcee's faces are like nightmare fuel man. I got to continuously watch the show to get used to it because it is throwing me off so bad.

The second issue I started noticing among the bots is the style of their bodies. Some bots look like they are from Prime, some look like they are from the War For Cybertron Trilogy and some look like they are from G1 or Cyberverse. Like, their designs look almost as if the animators couldn't decide which show to be inspired by but that makes some characters look out of place, especially the two bots born on Earth (can't remember their names yet) who look like they are from Prime in comparison to Bumblebee whose look is clearly inspired by Cyberverse and Swindle whose not much different in design from his WFC counterpart. I can live with it but it looks out of place in some moments.

And I'm not going to comment on Megatron's brief accent because...I guess we've had an American and a British accent for him, might as well expand the vocal range to...I'm not a hundred percent sure but I think it might by Scottish or Irish hints in there. He only says one line but it sounds heavier on a few syllables than an American accent that's for sure.

I'm pretty excited for it still. Like I said, to me, it's just I need to see more to get used to it. Once the show officially releases, I'll watch it and get an understanding of its dynamic to make an absolute call whether it manages to pull off what its showing.

Previously on Living a Nightmare;

Riley received an AMAZING chance card and jumped all the way to the top of the comedy career! He quickly became an overnight sensation and is now a one star celebrity! This is definitely Riley's biggest accomplishment and it means we'll have to spend a lot less time at work as the legacy progresses which I'm happy about!

Immediately after being promoted, Riley was flown out to Del Sol Valley to film his very FIRST comedy special titled "Hot and Heavy". It was a resounding success! "Hot and Heavy" was one of the most popular comedy albums of the entire year, and Riley has the plaques and posters to prove it. His life has skyrocketed in a very short amount of time. He's got a beautiful girlfriend, a job that he loves and grand ideas for what the future holds for him.

Monica decided she was ready for more and autonomously asked Riley if she could move in! They're both so infatuated with each other and don't want to waste any more time not being together.

Under the cut you can find some a lot more info on the gameplay aspect of the legacy and my future plans for the Burns family!

First of all, I had to extend the short lifespans just a LITTLE bit. Short is TOO short y'all, I can't. I still made them shorter than the normal lifespan. Lifespans are as follows:

Baby: 2 days

Infant: 6 days

Toddler: 8 days

Child: 11 days

Teen: 14 days

Young Adult: 18 days

Adult: 25 days

Elder: 8 days

We'll play out this first generation with these lifespans and see how it goes, I may have to adjust it a bit but I'm not sure. I really did not realize how difficult this challenge was going to be, because I get attached to my gameplay sims very fast. They're all gonna DIE so quickly, pray for me. I'm honestly excited to see how much progress we can make in a short amount of time though.

As far as future plans, I'm completely over Strangerville and it's annoying NPC's. I did not beat the Strangerville story and I was using a mod to toggle the story on and off, and sometimes I would forget to toggle it and it's just so frustrating. there should ABSOLUTELY be an option in the gameplay settings to turn the story off.

We are officially going to be moving to Chestnut Ridge! I figured it would be fun to try out some horse ranch gameplay and own a huge ranch. We're going to be taking out a loan in order to afford it, and Riley is going to keep working for a while as a top comedian before he retires and dedicates all of his time to the ranch. We're going to be attempting to survive by selling nectar, breeding horses/doing competitions, and farming! Monica may also pick up crocheting or cross stitching as a side hobby. Maybe canning?! I haven't done any canning at all yet! I know it makes little to no sense for them to be moving to a huge ranch from a very rundown home, but since Riley shot to stardom so fast I like to think he realized the first thing he wanted was a nicer home.

I think it fits Riley PERFECTLY. He's always wanted to make his own nectar and being a country boy at heart, Chestnut Ridge won't feel too far from home. Monica is also an animal enthusiast and VERY excited to get some animals, so it's going to be great for both of them. They've been doing some house hunting lately and they've almost found the perfect place. I've already moved some of their friends to Chestnut Ridge and given all of the original Chestnut Ridge townies little makeovers! I also added a couple more sims to the world just to fill it up a bit more. Riley and Monica will be making TONS of friends I'm sure. There's a bunch of couples ready to have babies at the same time as them which I'm excited about, gotta make sure our kids have friends!

I think that's it for now, but I did just want to say thank you so much to anyone who shows any kind of interest in following along with my gameplay. I know I've been widlly inconsistent and have rarely been posting gameplay, but I truly believe that's about to change as I dive back into this legacy and get things rolling again!

Party Crashers

Hey there, unconventional lubrications. You know how it goes around here. Whenever we get in a new shipment nowadays, it usually means there's also another finale right around the corner. And one good finale deserves another, yeah? So let's all get into that last issue of our MLP crossover~

Here's the cover:

So, for our final cover, should we include any of the G1 or FiM characters? Nah, let's go with the actual stars of this miniseries: the S'monies. Let's face it, they've gotten a lot more screen time and character development than any of the ponies this crossover was supposed to actually be about. Look at them, descending from on high into a nightmare circus or something. Dunno where that bright light's coming from either, but it does not seem suitable for these characters~

Do we need a recap? Last time, we finally crossed the generation gap and had North Star and friends come visit Equestria to help look into their Smooze problem. We now continue with that problem still ongoing. Twilight, never one to simply accept a problem without scientific research backing it up, conducts a live test of the Smooze infection on "volunteers" Minty and Lickety-Split. Hey, they're not from her universe. Anyway, the trial works, and Twilight demonstrates her conclusions as well: how to use the Rainbow Locket to remove the infection without harming the possessee.

A new wrinkle enters the plan, unbeknownst to our heroes: the witches Grackle and Dyre flip their way into Equestria. They maintain their human forms, which, if you may permit me a moment of fan...being, I guess is because they're not from the Equestria Girls universe? So only that dimension switches forms on traveling between it? Given Grackle and Dyre already being technicolour humanoids that even Doug would be proud of, they would've blended in perfectly as ponies. But I guess that would've been too much story to tell, seeing as we're on the last issue already~

Anyways, the witches enter Equestria and... are immediately sidetracked by the smells coming from Sugarcube Corner. Can you blame them, they've been living off witch food and volcano tacos their whole lives. They even say they completely understand why the S'monies went off-mission, if confronted with smells like this. The pair drooling over the window quickly gets the attention of the patrons inside. And even if they weren't Smooze-infected, a riot chasing the witches out of town was probably inevitable. A literal witch hunt!

While the witches regroup and eventually meet with Black Belle and Shadow Storm, Pinkie Pie drops in on Violet Shiver, complimenting her on taking the initiative to decorate. She even gives her a gift, an outfit to wear to the Bestie Festie that night. Violet is so touched she's teary-eyed. Now she's got the conflicts of interest, lamenting she hates the choices friendship makes her take. Fortunately, the choice is taken out of her hooves when she herself gets infected by her own Smooze decorations. Well, we've got our final boss for the crossover now~

Shadow Storm and Black Belle show the witches around town, pointing out all the destruction and discord they've sowed. However, when a riot breaks out around one of Black Belle's prized students (everypony's favourite babby changeling Ocellus), she quickly steps in to protect her. The lot of them duck inside an oddly abandoned-looking Carousel Boutique and put together a disguise for Grackle and Dyre. It's a two-person horse costume, and the colouration and star cutie mark make it look a lot like the G1 one character Majesty. If you don't know, do yourself a favour and go look up some old stories and comics with Majesty~

Our heroes, both G1 and FiM alike, also turn up at the party. Twilight gives an introduction, adding a shout-out to our G1 cast. Before she can turn the announcements over to Rainbow Dash, though, very suddenly the Smooze tentacles all begin attacking the crowd. A big fight scene quickly breaks out, with the possessed Violet leading the charge. She and Twilight begin fighting, while everypony else runs crowd control. Even Shadow Storm helps, tackling the witches to get them out of harm's way, knocking their costume off in the process.

Black Belle strikes against her own friend Violet to protect Ocellus and Yona, and Violet backs off, if only to taunt Grackle and Dyre. Is this the kind of revenge they had in mind, she asks the witches, showing the various ruins and entangled ponies. And Grackle literally ignites with rage. What she wanted was to make their moms proud. But you see, what had been a prison for the witches' mothers was a home for them. Heck, the exile had caused the daughters to be born in the first place. Was that so bad? And Grackle and Dyre stand with the ponies against the Smooze-possessed Violet.

Grackle uses all her dark energies to turn back on Violet and burn out the negativity of the Smooze, combining the final blast with the Rainbow of Light. The Smooze-infused decorations all burn out, and even the S'monies are all struck down. Without the Smooze, though, they begin to fade out. It's half their genetic makeup, and they can't remain. It's very big tragic, even with Pinkie still hoping to wear her matching "Best Friends" shirts with Violet. And Ocellus leans in to give her beloved teacher Black Belle a hug, and...

The S'monies do not fade out and disappear. The Smooze that was part of their genetic makeup may be gone, but there's still enough good in the three of them to keep them around. And they do still need the help at the school, after all. North Star begins building a bridge with the witches, saying that they're stronger than their moms because they could break the cycle of revenge. They're not sure where they'll fit in now, but anywhere's better than that volcano. They just need to explore a bit and find their place. And the G1 ponies also want to see more of Equestria before they go back as well. But that's another adventure, for another time~

This is an... adequate miniseries at best. There are certainly some good ideas in it! But it may have been too ambitious in its scope for only a 5-issue series, or it might’ve been rushed to an earlier ending than they hoped. I pointed out most of the problems in the previous review, and they stand true here. I do like the ending, though. Having the witches pull a heel-face turn and break the cycle of revenge is very suitable for this franchise. It’s also a kids’ series, so having the S’monies not fade away is fine and not contrived as it could be. Plus, I like a happy ending, and they did get the most character focus in the series. We’ve certainly had worse stories, but we’ve had a lot better too.

Next week, we’re not done with the generational theme in pony comics quite yet...~

A lot of my fandoms are things I've thought about and loved, most of them since childhood. But I guess I could go with G1 and IDW Transformers. Honestly, if it weren't for Tumblr, I never would've known they even existed!

N. Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)

This is more of a general take, really. It IS rooted in a fandom or two but I feel like it applies to almost any fandom out there.

An openness towards creative representation, AUs, and much other stuff as long as it doesn't exist within very serious boundaries. Questionable is fine, but there should be a massively detailed warning.

Accept that not everything is black and white; sometimes things are different shades of grey. History and life have always been that way and it's our job to always consider the grey zone in debate.

Stop. Fucking. Complaining. Please. I've had it UP TO HERE with complaints left, right, and centre. It's always from white American people trying to be woke and it can be very damaging to a fandom, especially if the allegations end up false. For example, I just want to enjoy memes and good fanart, not scroll through white people textposts about how something is like anti-black or pro-cop or ableist or N*zi just because of an overlooked minor detail from foreign developers and people who probably never knew about that shit! It HURTS a fandom and I WISH THEY'D STOP DOING THAT. LOOKING AT YOU RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE FANDOM I HOPE YOU GET FUCKED BY THE DLC FOR WHAT YOU SAID ABOUR KARL. (Note: This does not apply to porno. Do complain about that all you want because a lot of that is just fucking messed up man. Emphasis on fucking lmao.)

T. Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything)

I'll write two for every category!

For gender identity: TF2 Medic knows about every gender known to the multiverse, so if you request even a never-before-heard-of-gender surgery, he could effectively perform said surgery flaw(ed)lessly. Transformers didn't have a gender before the concept was introduced; they were rated based on storage capacity, survivability, and quality.

For sexual or romantic orientation: In the world of Minecraft, the only beings to experience sexual and romatic attraction are the Higher Powers, including The Player (but sometimes they don't either which is valid). The only Glamrock without a sexual or romantic orientation is Freddy, basically because the poor bear just can't grasp the importance of having one (let him live his lovely life pls).

For extended family: All the Creepypasta characters consider each other family, despite most claiming that they don't even like each other. Michael Afton likes to visit graveyards and talk to the people there, claiming them to be his wide network of extended family.

For sexual preferences: Herobrine's sexual preference is incompetence. Optimus Prime's preference is girlboss who can dom him.

For relationships with poetry: Let me make this perfectly clear: Megatron has MAD RESPECT for human poets, especially the ones who are Just Some Guy (like me!). King K. Rool in the DKC TV show keeps a secret compartment somewhere in his library, filled to the ceiling with poetry he's written throughout his entire crocodilian life.

For anything really (only one because it's LONG):

In Minecraft, things are a lot more complex than first meets the eye.

The hierarchy begins with the developers, with Notch being somewhat of an exiled God. They look like their average themselves, with some of them taking more creative personas or 'Skins'.

Then, we move on to the biomes. Each biome is a different entity on its own; think about Greek Gods. They each have forms of their own, all humanoid in appearance, but some preferring to hide beind their Skins as well.

We first start out with the basic biomes. Then, those biomes receive younger biomes to take care of from the developers, and so on and so on.

Some older biomes are soon replaced, but they still guide the newer ones. These newer biomes are the current biomes we have now. Sometimes they aren't replaced, just upgraded. When they retire, they become part of the dev team.

Then there come the structures. Wells, temples, and the like. They aren't the children of the biomes, rather they're entirely separate entities. A little on the lower level, but still separate. These entities do not have the ability to use Skins, but they have the ability to customize all the same. Think of old Minecraft mods and music videos, the weapons they hold, and so much more. They are capable of extraordinary design, but cannot change their look.

The Overworld structures tend to stick to one biome aside from notable exclusions like mineshafts and the new Warden area. The End structures are bound to their respective cities. The Nether structures are unbound and can move freely throughout the Nether.

The mobs come after these, and I think we need no explanation. They serve who they believe they should serve, sometimes pitting against each other in factions.

Then finally, the lowest of the low, the player.

The player may be low in the ranks, but that doesn't mean they're worthless. The devs give the players capability. To change, to conquer, to mod, to grief, and in all, to do whatever they wish. Though they may be the lowest of tiers, they can be far stronger than all the biomes and structures combined. We know what the player can do.

However, the player is vulnerable. To be banished and shamed to the level of player is a disgrace upon the world and the self. Weak, defenceless, shunned. Mobs turn hostile, friends turn enemies, and much much worse. They are able to mod the world and explore new ones, but they can't carry the power they once had. Think of trying to play Genshin Impact on a Blackberry.

Then again, as a player they are free to create. So perhaps maybe it's not all too bad. I mean, Bastion Remnant got banished to player status and is feeling fine as a potato farmer. Still can't change her physical though. Trapped forever in the body of a boar.

I forgot to mention Herobrine. Herobrine is a tough nut to crack because every single player has a Herobrine of their own. Some are brave, while others are shy. Most Herobrines are malicious while some have a much softer relationship with their players. Some are teachers, and some are overlords.

My Herobrine stands with the developers. His powers may be those similar to the player, but he is more powerful than all the biomes come together. He can bring the player to stand with him if he so chooses, sharing power and all that romantic stuff. He can essentially be giving them creative mode but with more power.

Few Herobrines gain this status. The few who do, may act as antivirus and experience enhancers. Applications started coming in ever since the Nether update when the devs freed Herobrine from Notch's cruel clutches on all platforms.

Z. Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go (prompts optional but encouraged)

I hate how I've got so many complex ideas about fanstuff when I'm in the most inconvenient of times. Like I'm sitting there, barbecue sauce on my tiddies, and I'm like, 'Well shit you know what would be cool? If we gave tbe robots more guns.' And I can't do a thing about it because I'm in a tight spot and everytime I write it down I forget about it which is also why I don't keep dream journals. On that note, the guiness world records for largest transformers collection is a bit tricky at the moment. Technically the current world record holder is Louis Georgio with 2,111, but the ACTUAL recorded record is 3,626 by AJ Ard- but he sold his collection so it no longer exists. So the thing is Alphonse, alone, has got Louis beat by a mile, but the guiness ppl aren't gonna update the record unless we top AJ. Also if you've never done anything with guiness before you have to pay for your record application bleh. It's a hassle. I SHOULD have the world record for most animators involved in a single collaborative project with just under 4,000 but man. Verifying that would have been a nightmare and the fee... W/e. I know I have that record and that's all that matters.

In any case! Me and Al don't actually have a lot of collection overlap and we've been tossing double buys into the sale bin lately. Which, on that note, if you're looking for a girlformer or something particularly old and obscure uh, ask I guess...? We have a lot of stuff. Alphonse has a G1 Megatron that has a broken gimmick- still would sell for like 100 bucks- that he just keeps around for his fucking humanformer soundwave cosplay lol. That's like. The situation we live in.

Anyway he has something like 2400-2500 and I have 600. It's probably like 3000 or just under that stripped of overlap. Like I said, there's actually not a lot of overlap.

However the record isn't for transformers figures. It's for transformers MEMORABILIA. which includes... Everything? So. Posters, pins, shirts, every freaking comic book, keychains, blankets... Everything?? And we only actually log figures in the spreadsheet. I own... A lot? Of comics? I've also got zines, tmuk, the collector club newsletter, old botcon merch, convention badges, badges, posters, decorations, shirts.... I have a transformers blanket I sleep with? Literally I am unsure how I would be expected to count these items like, I own the box for ehobby howlback but I don't own howlback. Does the box count as one? If that box counts as one, I display some boxes separately from their items like third parties, and what about stuff where you weren't really expected to keep the box like a cheap model kit so it really does feel like a separate item? Not sure on the rules there. What about like custom accessories? I've got a resin cast hoverboard for tailgate and I've got shapeways great swords for whirl and cyclonus. What about that custom whirl I did? It's half shapeways kit half rotf tomahawk. I still have the REST of him. Is that... Two?? It's one surely. But what are the standards? How did I define what counts as one item? Ah shit I forgot I also have video games and DVDs....
