The story behind Yoo Ah-In's drug use is so sad.

Yoo Ah-In originally tested positive for marijuana which is illegal in Korea, but then tested positive for Propafol, a controlled drug that given to him illegally by different doctors over a two year period.

After that, he also tested positive for cocaine and ketamine, a drug that might have been illegally prescribed to him. Finally he might have also taken zolpidem in "excessive amounts." (not my words).

After this went down (really fast actually), all of his upcoming projects got cancelled.

The thing is, he has a sleeping disorder he was being treated for and apparently started taking other drugs on top of that. If you've ever had a sleep disorder, you would understand the toll that takes on mental health. I also remember he has (had?) a painful bone tumor so I get the impression he's been through a lot.

Look at his drug choices:

Zolpidem can be used used for insomnia

Propofol is an anesthetic used for sedation

Ketamine is also an anesthetic but can help with depression and anxiety.

Marijuana also can help with anxiety and sleep

These are drug are ones someone who wants to be unconscious would pick. This screams mental health issues to me and someone who legit needs therapy and help, not arrest warrants.

For me personally, I'm just devastated because he is SUCH a talent and his career is pretty much over. I don't think drugs should be illegal (any of them), but on top of that we should treat drug addiction as a mental health concern, not a criminal issue.

While it's kinda hot to have someone yank those ribbons, it's very liberating to do it yourself! In fact, I now prefer to do it solo.

I taught myself this for conventions and it's super helpful. The main trick is that you pull the laces to the front of your body and then slowly pull the back parts one lace at a time and then tighten by pulling the ribbon forward.

This is a great video that shows it (skip to 1 minute and watch till about 3 minutes :)

I'm in a drama slump so I'm wondering whats on your watch list these days??

I'm cackling cause while I'm not in a slump per say, I ran out of spoons this october dealing with my two jobs (y'all know this happens to me a lot lol) so I haven't been watching as much or posting but it's usually temporary so I'll be back more soon I'm sure!

I'm rewatching Moving (best life choice ever!) If you didn't watch it I like 100% recommend it for so many reasons.

I just finished the jdrama My Personal Weatherman and although their relationship was wacky af I really liked it!

I started A Good Day To Be A Dog and wow it's wild. Like, it's not "good" but it's very silly and I just love Park Gyu Young (the FL) so much. She is acting circles around the boys but like that was to be expected.

Do Variety shows count? I just finished New World (cute!) and I just started The Devil's Plan where like in all Korean variety shows, the rules are so complicated in the first challenge, I had to turn my brain off and have no idea what's happening. And I'm watching Love After Divorce 4 and oddly enough I'm like super into it??

I think it'd be a bit of everything, tbh

We'd try to comfort each other. I have a lot of pity for her (I have some nerve, it's all my fault), and I'd try to tell her that she is enough.

That maybe she doesn't feel like it, but she is loved, and needed and wanted, and whatever pain and sorrow she has gone through doesn't define her. That she is much more than a rabid, hurt animal.

And I think she'd just listen, at least until she broke down.

But most likely, we'd be silent. Both of us prefer to listen rather than bother anyone. So silent comfirt would be.
