Not a Fairy Tale Ending | Ali Krieger x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello! Thanks for the kind messages while I have been away studying for the LSAT. Just also want to say that this is completely fiction and Ali would NEVER act this way. Again requests are closed...thanks for understanding.
From prompt list: 20. "And I… I still love you, even after all of this time".
TW: Emotional manipulation, anxiety/panic attack symptoms, NSFW alluded, no happy ending...well kind of
WC: 2420
My face remained calm as I looked towards the teleprompter and not at the newer pundit on the other side of the table. My knee quietly bounced under the table and did not stop until one of the other pundits leaned over and said “hey, you never get nervous…I get it but you got this like always”. I only nod as my attention does not waver from the teleprompter.
God, I wish it was nerves…it was more like years and years of emotions physically manifesting themselves. Sadness in my chest, anger in my arms, fear in my legs, and finally yearning in my eyes.
The director behind the camera signals me to start.
“Welcome to Morning Footy here at CBS Sports, where you get all of your football news. If you are new here, My name is (y/n)/(l/n),  former two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion with the USWNT, and former midfielder for Arsenal and Wolfsburg”.
I finish introducing my fellow pundits and then subtly take in a breath before I start, my knee beginning to bounce betraying the calmness in my voice as I begin.
“And today we are introducing our newest pundit for the month, fellow two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, and recently NWSL champion, Ali Krieger” I could not feel my hands as I clapped as I looked over at Ali. The last time I had seen her in person was at my retirement game that we had with Ireland and I could not even remember when that was.
Her smile was cordial and genuine from what I could tell from across the table.
“Ali, you’ve played with and against (Y/N) before, it must be nice to see a familiar face here huh?” the pundit beside me patted my shoulder, bringing me out of my slight daze.
“She's been an amazing player since the beginning and now a pundit! I tell you she swore up and down that she would do coaching and never be a pundit” she teased as the pundits looked at me as I just shrugged my shoulders.
“The way life works you know” I said sheepishly, my knee not bouncing any slower than it was a minute ago.
Ali continued, “Still I would love to go back and just partner up with her in training again like old times.”
A little laugh escaped me as my fists were clenched underneath the table
“Sure you would,” I thought to myself.
______________________________________________________________
I had my first cap with the USWNT in the 2007 Algarve Cup in Portugal…fresh out of UNC and was signed by Wolfsburg. I hadn’t had any serious relationships and I was fully out. I think then I was the happiest I had ever been…then I met Ali Krieger. It was from a distance and by that I mean the passing glances and touches from when I would either get a ball from her or she would get the ball away from me.
She was at Frankfurt and I was at Wolfsburg and we were eventually introduced by our teammates solely on the basis that we were two new Americans in Germany. I remember only bits and pieces from then but I remember that she looked at me with admiration as I already had a couple of caps with the USWNT and that was something she was aiming to do in the next year. I liked the attention that she gave me after that match because it was genuine.
I was called into camp for the Four Nations Tournament in 2008 and for the first time I was not considered a bubble player. I had proven myself worthy enough for a semi-permanent spot on the team and that was truly an honor. Ali also made it to the camp meaning I was no longer the baby of the team.
We were all gathered around and Rampone started her usual speech before the practice and introduced the new debutants at camp.
“Ali, you’ve played against (Y/N) before. It must be nice to see a familiar face here huh? You both can pair off since you’re familiar with each other” Rampone patted her shoulder after the talk.
Ali nodded towards me, “Can I see if anyone else is available, I don’t want to bother (y/n)?” Rampone shook her head.
“She doesn’t bite I promise…right? (y/n) you don’t bite?” She says towards me as I take a drink from my water bottle.
I respond with a confused look towards her, “Uh….no?” and with that Rampone gently pushes Ali towards me.
I toss her her water bottle, “Rampone likes to stick the babies of the group together on the first day of camp, sorry about that”
Ali sighs, “Nah it’s no problem…just want to get to know more people here…not that you’re not great or sorry… I’m being stupid”
I shake my head, “hey no I get it, I mean it took me a bit to get to know people, but if you can’t find another partner, I’ll still be here to take you so don’t worry”
Ali smiled at me and said thanks before leaving and pairing up with Wambach…I did wish that Wambach turned her down but it’s alright because Ali did come to me after Boxx rejected her partner offer a couple days after.
______________________________________________________________
I was always the backup for Ali, I didn’t mind it…camp was lonely at times and when she would be with me I felt less alone. I let myself be there for her when she was sad, lonely, angry at the world, but she never did so for me…I didn’t realize that until much much later.
“So, as former national teammates y’all were close right? How was (Y/N)? Any dirty secrets you can spill?” the pundit beside me joked as he elbowed me once again. I only, playfully, roll my eyes at him as Ali answers the question.
I did not look at Ali as she said the following, my refusal to look at her could easily be interpreted as shyness or not being able to take praise.
“Oh (y/n), she was such a great player both on and off the pitch. She was always there for me especially when there was nowhere else to go. I was so glad to have been able to celebrate with her at her last game ever. She means a lot to so many people…(y/n) you mean a lot to me especially”
I did not feel my body at that moment as I slowly breathed in her words, my body now felt like I was in the middle of the ocean and I did not feel the bottom.
______________________________________________________________
I don’t know why it always happened while we were with the USWNT…club was when I had some reprieve from Ali but I also missed her…it was such a double-edged sword. She was a drug and I was addicted to her.
We were called up for the 2011 World Cup in Germany. I remember Ali talking to me sharing that she was talking to this other footballer during the camps leading up to the World Cup.
I did my best to hide the jealousy I held when she spoke about the player with such admiration…I was just there to hold all her love for another…and then be there to hold the pain when caused by another…
I heard a small knock on the door of my hotel room, I looked up from my book and looked at the clock, 8:42 PM…
“Tobs? Don’t tell me you lost your key card again?” I call out but get no immediate answer.
A small recognizable “It’s me” sounded through the door. Tossing my book onto my bed and opening the door to only be engulfed in a hug by Ali was what I distinctly remember.
Her tears wetting my old UNC shirt as I immediately pulled her in, “Hey, Hey, hey…what’s wrong?” My hand gently rubbed her back as she continued sobbing into my chest.
“She broke up with me” came out muffled as I felt her fist gripping at my old shirt leaving it wrinkled when she finally let go.
I did not say anything and just led her to sit at my bed while I stayed crouched in front of her.
“Ali, I'm so sorry, you really did not deserve that, honestly. Who in their right mind would think to do that while you're in a tournament… ” I say softly as I grab her hands and warming them in my own.
Ali looked at me, tears streaming down her face, “I thought I meant a lot to her you know…like you have always been there for me and I thought she would too but she left me”.
My body moved on it own as I engulfed her in a hug and saying, “I will never let you go, you mean a lot to me and you will find someone who will also show that”
My memory becomes unclear because when I pulled away she had my face in her hands as she brought me into a kiss. I had dreamed of that moment for so long and it was happening. My thoughts at that moment were that she had chosen me…she chose me…
A quick call to Tobin to let me have the room for the night and everything seemed to be my fairy tale ending as soon as she kissed me again and saying “ (y/n) you mean a lot to me especially”
She would come to me the next morning before the Brazil/US match to say that she made a mistake and that she hopes that I can just forget about it and that we can still remain friends. I nodded and saw her walk off to eat with some other players while I elected to go back to my room saying I needed to call home…my eyes burned as the tears filled my eyes once I was out of sight.
We won that game…but I agree with the critics…it was my worst performance of my career…so much so that I was subbed off at the 70’ minute.
I got so much backlash from the media for my “attitude and lack of decorum” when I was seen kicking my seat before sitting down at the bench…I was frustrated, angry, and sad…not because of my poor play but because of how much Ali had affected me.
She did not see the look I shot her when she turned away from me after patting me on the back after the game going , “Hey we all have bad games, don’t think about it too much”.
______________________________________________________________
I quickly turned away playing the shy card as best as I could.
“Nah, don’t say that…we were all like family on that team…I’m not special” I say with such a fakeness that it actually made me feel ill.
The director finally signaled the end of the segment to break for a short snack and conversation. Normally, I would stay at the table and eat my blueberry Costco muffin while chatting about the Premier League with my fellow pundits…but I wanted to leave immediately and hide in my shared dressing room…
I got up from my seat at the table and before I could get 10 steps away from the set, Ali called my name. Before, hearing her say my name would make my legs buckle beneath me but now it made me want to walk away from her faster. I didn't. It seemed that my feet were frozen to the ground.
She caught up to me and grabbed me by that arm leading me away even before asking.
“Can we talk privately?”
I sigh, as I lead her to my shared dressing room and lock the door behind us.
Words of encouragement flooded my head as I finally turned around and with as much confidence I could muster.
“What did you want to talk about?” I say as I cross the room and sit down at the nearest chair in the room.
Ali, wrung her hands, “I just wanted to talk…the whole thing with Ashlyn has been hard and it made me realize how much I missed you…how you used to always care for me and life has been busy so we never really talked much since you retired…I just wanted to see if we could possibly try this again?”
She got closer to me and I immediately stood up which caused her to reach out to grab my hands.
I found myself back in that hotel room, back to teary eyed Ali Krieger begging for my comfort…knowing that I’d crumble and give in…
“Stop” my voice firm as I moved my hands away from her…
I step back and tried to keep my voice from cracking as she looked at me confused,
“Ali…I can’t…I don’t want to do this again…I was never your first choice always a back up until you found someone…” She steps forward trying to interrupt me and grabbing my hands again but I move away.
“Ali…no” my voice finally breaks…
“I loved you Ali…since we first met…And I… I still love you, even after all of this time but I can’t do this anymore”.
She remains frozen as I continue, “You can’t just come to me after your heart is shattered expecting me to be there for you…expecting me to just give in and kiss you and so you can have a temporary happily ever after…this is not a fairy tale ending Ali…I don’t want to do this again”.
I grab something in the room to give reason to me being in here and get to the door, “I’m not changing my mind…I deserve to get the same love that I gave you for years…it just will never be with you…I’ll see you back at the table”.
Ali stayed behind…she returned minutes later…we never spoke about it or to each other again…the cordial smiles and banters on the camera that month would be the last time I ever spoke to Ali Krieger…and, for a moment, after her time as a pundit ended I felt that same feeling of freedom when I left UNC…before meeting Ali…and no one outside of us two, the public, my fellow pundits, the fans were none the wiser.
Well until I told my, now, wife about it…because she became the true fairy tale ending to my story as we kissed at the altar and that’s all that really matters now.

One day I will stop falling in love with you. Someday, someone will like me like I like you.
You stand alone in your apartment, leaning against the countertop, sipping on coffee and eating pie from downstairs. Memories from Josie’s earlier tonight replay in your head. The gentle laughter of your friend Matt as your friends Foggy and Karen tease him over something you don’t even remember. You can’t help but smile at the thought, with a little bit of shame burning the back of your neck.
You went to Columbia Law with your friend Foggy. You two had been best friends since you were young, and you two complimented each other perfectly. When he introduced you to Matt, he just became another puzzle piece that slotted perfectly into your friendship.
It was nice to have friends that cared about you so much through law school, a time that you struggled with, as most students do. You were amazing, but it didn’t come to you naturally. Many nights were spent in the library with tears welling up in your eyes, and you nearly tore your hair out every night trying to wrap your head around the topics you were so passionate about.
But they were always there for you.
You wished that you could tell Foggy or Matt about what you had been going through lately, but you knew it would strain your relationship. You were hyper-aware that Foggy would be disappointed. He had always been scared that Matt would sweep you away from him. If you confessed these feelings to him, he’d be happy for you, but the tiniest part of him would be disappointed. You were his best friend, and although Matt had always gotten the girls, at least Foggy had the comfort that you never dated Matt.
To be fair, in law school, you didn’t have a crush on Matt. You two had flirted occasionally, but no more than you did any other guy at the bar you wanted free drinks from. But due to a recent breakup, your heart had started to flutter at things it never had before.
His smiles when one of his friends enters a room. His soft, bashful chuckles when one of you teases him. His tone when he shoots a comeback. His hand holding your arm as you guide him to his apartment. His arms wrapped around you when you need to cry.
You consider yourself lucky to have your ducks all in a row—except for this. You had your own firm with your best friends, defending the innocent like you had pledged to do when you were studying for the LSATs. You had a decent apartment for Hell’s Kitchen, right above a local bakery. Your life was pretty damn good, and you were fine this way. You didn’t want to do anything to fuck this up.
You knew Matt didn’t like you back. You’ve heard the way he’s felt about women before, and you knew it didn’t describe how he feels about you. The way he flirts with them is different from the way he flirts with you.
Lately, he’s met women at Josie’s, and the morning after you’ll hear Foggy tease Matt about the tryst the night before. You’d analyze the way he talked to her, the way his body language shifted around her, and you knew that it wasn’t the way he treated you. You always go silent during the morning debriefs, just stirring your coffee, smiling, and nodding along. Then you’d go to your office and work on the case, and try to deny the jealousy you felt writhing in your stomach.
A knock at the door snaps you back to reality. You walk to the door and open it up to Karen. Karen Page. She had quickly become one of your closest friends once she joined the firm. You had even coached her on her feelings for Matt, though at the time it didn’t pain you as much as it would now.
“We need to talk.” She says to you, concern lacing her words. You had left Josie’s early, claiming a headache, and refusing to let anyone walk you home. Matt had slipped away from you three and started flirting with a beautiful woman, and you couldn’t handle it, not after such a hard and disappointing case. Karen knew you too well though. She probably left not too long after you did.
“Come in.” You gesture her through the doorway and shut it behind her.
“I just noticed for the first time tonight. How long have you liked him?” She slides her blazer off her body and lays it on one of your chairs before she sits down. You take a second to consider her question.
It could have been last week when you ran into him at the bakery below you. You four had gone there a few times, but you usually wouldn’t see your friends there since it was in the opposite direction from the office. You, however, went there every morning and picked up breakfast before heading to the office. You were checking your phone while waiting for your order, doing some research on your client before work when you heard Matt’s voice order some fresh bagels. Was he here for you? It wouldn’t make sense if he had come just for the bagels, there were bakeries closer to the office. Your heart skipped a beat at the thought. You looked up and saw him pay the cashier, and as he moved to wait for his order you walked over to him and greeted him.
“Matt, what are you doing here?”
“Getting bagels for everyone.” You watched as he turned his head towards you, your heart fluttering at the smile he gave you.
“Foggy will be happy about that.” A soft chuckle fell from his lips.
“No more joking that Landman & Zack was a better deal than us.” He gestured his cane to accent his point. Your orders came out at the same time as a fresh batch exited the oven. “Do you mind if I walk you to the office?”
You couldn’t help but tease him for the request. “Are you sure I won’t be the one leading you to the office?”
He feigned offense at your joke, “What are you insinuating? That I can’t handle myself? I’m a big boy, you know.” Your heart jumped at the way he teased you back. You scolded yourself. You reacted three times in just a few minutes to him. You silently thanked God that at least you could keep your physical reactions private, as they would immediately give you away.
You put his hand on your arm, and you both started walking toward the office, chatting with each other about the cases on the docket.
It could have been a few months ago when you and your ex had broken up. You two had fallen out of love, and it had been mostly mutual, but it still hurt to leave someone who had been your second half for such a long time. You had Foggy, Karen, and Matt over to your apartment later that night so you could drink your sorrows away. They all had taken turns making fun of your ex, saying that they weren’t right for you, that you deserved better. You knew this wasn’t true, but you still smiled appreciatively at the gesture. Karen was the first to leave, she had an investigation she wanted to get an early start on the next morning. Then Foggy left, he was going to have a meeting with a client and he wanted to get a full night’s rest. They left just the two of you in your apartment sitting on your couch with beers in hand.
“Fuck them.” You faked your anger, knowing it felt better than sadness. You paused and sat as the alcohol coaxed you into spilling your real feelings. “I loved them. So much. I can’t believe it’s just over.” He moved closer to you to place a hand on your shoulder.
“I know. Breakups are hard, especially when you both love each other. But you'll push through. You’re an amazing person. You’re one of the strongest people I know. One of the best.” Matt’s words were reassuring, but they just caused tears to form in your eyes.
“...Can I hug you?” Your eyes started overflowing as you made this simple request.
“Of course.” He set both of your beers down on your coffee table and moved closer to you to scoop you into his arms. Your head and hand rested against his chest as you let the tears fall. You felt bad from soaking his nice button-up, but your sadness overpowered your reservations. You two stayed like this for a while, and you took comfort in the way he rubbed circles into your shoulder and the gentle rhythm of his heart.
You felt comfortable with him in a way you didn’t with anyone else. Not Karen, not Foggy, not even your ex.
It could have been about a year ago. You and Matt had gone on a trip to a nearby state for a case that you were working on. Although he was being tried in New York, your client was being held in a prison in Detroit temporarily. Foggy and Karen stayed back to hold the fort and work on other cases while you two spent a few days in Detroit. The drive was painfully long, and at the end of the day, you couldn’t wait to stretch your legs and walk around. You had to guide Matt, something you haven’t had to do in recent times. He hasn’t been somewhere that he didn’t know like the back of his hand in a while, and you relished the feeling of his hand on your arm.
You had booked a hotel room for the two of you, with two queens. However, when you checked in, your heart sank.
“I’m sorry, but due to a shutdown in our system, we are overbooked. We tried to contact everyone affected, but I guess you must have missed it. We have a room available with a single king though, will that be alright?”
Matt immediately spoke up. “That will be alright, thank you.” You frowned, wishing he had maybe consulted you.
After checking in, you two walked to your hotel room. “How did you know I would be okay with this?” You could hear the slight tinge of annoyance in your voice.
“I was going to sleep on the floor. You’ll get the whole bed to yourself, your partner won’t have anything to worry about.” Did you imagine the disdain in his voice?
“No, I can’t let you do that. I can sleep on the floor, or we can share the bed. We’ve done it before at Columbia, it’s purely platonic. They’ll understand.” You opened the door to the hotel room and then closed it behind the two of you. You gently guided Matt around the room and described the locations of everything to him, followed by descriptors of appearance.
After guiding him around, you took a shower and changed into your pajamas. “So am I sleeping on the floor? Or are we sharing the bed?”
Matt grabbed the pillows off of the bed and placed them on the floor. “I don’t want to make you or your partner uncomfortable. I’ll sleep on the floor, I’ll be fine.” You shook your head and picked up the pillows.
“It’ll be fine. Let’s share the bed.” Your heart rate rose at the thought, and you thanked God that Matt couldn’t see you blush. You had a partner, one you loved very much. You shouldn’t be thinking this way.
Matt changed and slid onto his side of the mattress, leaving plenty of room between the two of you. You fell asleep watching his face and hoped that in the morning, your heart would return to normal. You woke up like you often did at Columbia, in his arms. Platonically.
It could have been a few years ago. It was right after you all got the news that you passed the bar. You had gone to a bar to celebrate, and you had taken a few too many shots. Foggy and Matt insisted on walking you home, and you leaned on the two of them to keep your balance. Every time you saw someone while walking home, you cheered “We passed the bar!!” and if the person was nice, they’d smile, or maybe even cheer with you. As you stumbled, Matt kept a steady grip on your hand. Even in your drunken stupor, you blushed and pushed away the thought immediately.
“You guys are the best. I love you two.” You slurred as you made it to the front door of your apartment.
“I love you too! You’re the best friend a guy could ever ask for,” Foggy said in a voice that was a little too loud for the time of day, “Except for maybe you Matt!”
Matt laughed. His beautiful laugh. “No, I think you’re right. They are the best friend a guy could ask for.” You suddenly stand up straight after leaning on Matt, your face dangerously close to his. Maybe you imagined it in a drunken haze, but you could have sworn that Matt blushed. You shook the thought away and made space between the two of you.
“Do you two want to come in?” You asked as you fumbled with your keys, missing the lock a few times.
“I should probably be going to bed. Thanks for the invite though! I will see you soon!” Foggy walked away from your door without Matt, though you know he won’t go far without him.
Matt stepped closer to you, mimicking the distance you had placed between the two of you earlier. A blush crept up your face. “Goodnight. Congratulations again. You’re going to be an amazing lawyer.” He placed a hand on your cheek. You could feel your heart pound in your chest.
“You too.” You whispered back. You quickly turned and walked into your apartment before you made a mistake that sober you would regret in the morning.
You never had a crush on him in law school. Or maybe that was a lie you told yourself to save your friendships. It could have been that you had a crush on him from the first moment you saw him. From the first moment you saw red light dancing on his face from his glasses. From the first moment you saw his smile. Fuck.
“I don’t know,” You picked at your pie, and paused, “Maybe I’ve fallen for him every day since I met him.”
Until then, I’ll drink my coffee, eat my pie, pretend that we are more than friends.
Then of course I’ll let you break my heart again.

Adolescent Antichrist (Book 4) Chapter Twenty
Father Figure! Lucifer x Teen! Reader
Demon! OC x Reader
Chapter Twenty: Two Demons and an Angel Walk into a Church
Summary: Demons decide to kidnap (Y/N).
“Sorry for cutting out on our movie night,” said Em, smiling apologetically. “If the boss calls, I gotta go.”
“Lucifer can wait for Legally Blonde to finish,” said (Y/N), waving their hand. They leaned their head back over the coach to look at Em upside-down. “What did he want, anyways?”
“He had a visit from some demons,” said Em. “They wanted him to go back to Hell.”
“And Lucifer said no, right?” said (Y/N), slightly nervous.
“Obviously,” said Em, sitting down. “He’s not leaving you, Birdie.”
(Y/N) smiled and pretended to roll their eyes. “Yeah, yeah, I’m not worried.” They crossed their arms. “But I thought that demons weren’t able to get to earth.”
“Long story,” sighed Em. “They’re not supposed to be here, and Lucifer told them to get packing.”
“Oh, good, a problem I don’t have to solve,” sighed (Y/N) thankfully.
“Yep, Lucifer’s even doing cleanup by letting Chloe and Maze know about the situation and what happened,” said Em.
“Wonderful,” said (Y/N). “I get a night off.” They grinned.
“Well, you definitely earned one, Birdie,” said Em. “So, what did I miss?”
“I paused the movie,” said (Y/N).
            “Really?” asked Em.
“I mean, yeah. This is our movie night. It’s for you and me to watch together,” said (Y/N). “So I waited.”
“Thanks,” said Em, turning red. (Y/N) really was the sweetest when they wanted to be. There was a reason Em had a crush on them, after all.
“Stop thanking me and just sit down,” said (Y/N). “It’s time to watch the movie.”
“Okay, okay,” chuckled Em, sitting down. “Where were we?”
“Elle is studying for the LSAT,” said (Y/N).
“Good for her,” said Em, settling in with (Y/N).

“Detective! I was hoping you’d still be up working,” said Lucifer, walking into the LAPD. “Ever the over-worker.” He blinked in surprise. “And Maze! What a surprise!”
“Oh, good, Lucifer,” said Chloe, letting out a sigh of relief. “Listen, we have a problem.”
            “Oh?” asked Lucifer.
“Demons are roaming the earth,” said Maze.
“Then I have wonderful news for you!” said Lucifer brightly. “I already know; I saw them earlier.” He sighed. “Yeah, it seems that Kinley summoned them to take my back to Hell. His last-ditch attempt to squash the prophecy.” He grinned. “But don’t worry, crisis averted; I sent them packing. And besides, the demons in question are Dromos and Squee. Hardly the brightest bulb in the hellfire chandelier.”
Maze tsked. “I hate those two. Especially Squee.”
“Well, everyone hates Squee,” said Lucifer. “But either way, I’ve handled it all. And Emeranne was there, too, so she also is up-to-date with everything.”
“That’s great, but I’m still getting my knives and giving some to Emeranne in case those two idiots get lost on their way home,” said Maze.
“Fair enough,” said Lucifer, following Maze as she left the LAPD.
l
“Warner ends up all alone,” snickered Em as Legally Blonde ended.
“And Vivian and Elle are friends,” said (Y/N). “I love this movie.” They grinned at Em. “And, hey, someone needed to get you to watch the best human movies.”
“What else is on the list?” asked Em.
(Y/N) opened their phone and looked at their list. “Howl’s Moving Castle and Ocean’s 11 are the next two.”
            “What are those about?”
“Howl’s Moving Castle is an animated film about magic and curses, and Ocean’s 11 is a heist movie,” said (Y/N).
“Sound fun, I can’t wait,” said Em, smiling. She’d take any chance to be around (Y/N). They needed to figure out how to tell if (Y/N) liked them (and start flirting(?)).
The elevator dinged, and (Y/N) and Em turned around to look. Em’s eyes widened as Dromos and Squee walked in.
“Is that Kinley?” said (Y/N) in shock.
“My name’s Dromos,” said Dromos. “I’m just…borrowing this body.”
“The boss told you to go back to Hell,” said Em, moving in front of (Y/N) and pushing them behind her.
            “What’s going on?” questioned (Y/N).
“We have a bit of a demon problem,” said Em, narrowing their eyes. “But the boss told them to leave.”
“He abdicated the throne,” said Squee. “He isn’t our boss.”
“Em, did Dad do that?” asked (Y/N).
Em nodded, and Dromos grinned. “Aw, are you ‘Em’ up here? No wonder you’ve gone soft like Lucifer.”
Em just glared. “You should listen to his warning and go back to Hell no matter what you think. He’ll obliterate you if he finds you here.”
“Right, right…But we have some business to take of, and as long as we handle it before he figures anything out…” Dromos smirked. “We’re home free. And anyways, we’ll be going to Hell happily.”
“But we need a King, first,” said Squee. “And angel.”
Em reached back and grabbed (Y/N)’s hand. “Run,” she whispered.
“And we thought, why not a half-angel?” said Dromos, taking a step forward and staring at (Y/N).
            “Shit,” said (Y/N).
“Go, Birdie,” said Em, pushing (Y/N) back and lunging at Dromos.
(Y/N) actually listened to someone for once and ran for the elevator. Squee grabbed for them, but (Y/N) dodged, and shadows reached up to grab his ankle. They tripped him and jumped over his body to head for freedom.
Behind them, Em punched Dromos. He stumbled back before returning the attack. Em was a younger and smaller demon, so they ducked before trying to hit him again. Unfortunately, Dromos blocked and grabbed her. He lifted them and slammed them down on the bar counter. Em cried out as her head hit the marble. They weren’t an angel—this could hurt them.
Em’s cry got (Y/N)’s attention, and they faltered in their run to look back. And their heart cried out for them to do something. So, stupidly, foolishly (but what else could someone be when they cared for another?), (Y/N) stopped and raised a hand. Shadows grabbed Dromos and dragged him away from Em.
And it gave Squee the perfect moment to grab their leg from where he lay and stab a needle into them. The drugs entered their system, and (Y/N) collapsed. They groaned, and the shadows faded back to their usual darkness as they lost consciousness and the drugs took effect.
“Em…” they said. “Dad…” Their vision went black.
Dromos looked back to confirm that Squee was picking up Lucifer’s kid before looking back down at Em as she fumbled to get up and help (Y/N).
“Stay down, brat,” he said, picking them up and throwing them into the bar shelves.
Em collapsed to the ground behind the counter in a show of glass, and that last thing she saw was Squee and Dromos walking out of the penthouse with (Y/N).
l
“Maze, just how many knives are you bringing Emeranne?” asked Chloe as they finally arrived at Lux. Maze had taken quite some time to find just the right weapons for Em.
“Enough for her to be properly armed,” said Maze vaguely.
            “Oh boy,” sighed Chloe.
Lucifer checked the time. “If (Y/N) is sleeping and all this wakes them up, I’m not going to be happy.”
Chloe smiled. “I think it’s nice that you’re worried about them.”
“Oh, no, their sleep schedule is screwed up anyways, it’s more that they’ll bite our heads off,” said Lucifer jovially, leading the group to the elevator.
“Right,” said Chloe, just smiling and rolling her eyes. She knew it was Lucifer’s way of worrying.
The elevator finally dinged at the penthouse, and the group stepped out.
“Oh my god,” said Chloe, eyes widening.
The entryway of the penthouse was fine, but the view of the bar was a mess. The entire set of shelves was destroyed, and glass littered the floor. Beside a body.
“Emeranne,” said Maze, instantly moving to her favorite demon’s side.
“Is she alright?” said Lucifer, hovering with Chloe.
“They have a pulse,” said Maze.
Sure enough, Em’s eyes were opening. “What the—Maze?”
“Yeah, kid,” said Maze. “And Chloe and Lucifer.”
Em didn’t listen to that and instantly sat up as she got her bearing. She looked around wildly. “Shit. Shit. Shit, shit, shit, we need to go!”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” said Chloe, grabbing Em as they stood. “Calm down, kid. You need a hospital.”
“No, no, it’s (Y/N). (Y/N)’s in danger!” said Em. She looked at Lucifer desperately. “I tried to protect them, I swear, but Dromos and Squee were stronger, and they drugged (Y/N), and I couldn’t get to them in time, and they stopped running to help me, and then those damn demons took them.”
“They what?” said Lucifer, eyes blazing red, and Maze and Chloe glanced at each other worriedly.
“Dromos and Squee took (Y/N),” said Em. “They want them as a king.”
            “King?” said Chloe.
“They need an angel as the King of Hell,” said Maze, making the connecting. “And (Y/N) is half-angel now.”
“Full angel, possibly,” said Lucifer darkly. “We have no idea how this ‘self-actualizing a child’ thing works.” His eyes widened in horror. “Which means them taking (Y/N) is my fault.”
“Hey, no, don’t do that,” said Chloe. “Don’t blame yourself.”
“(Y/N) wouldn’t want you to,” said Em quietly. “They’d want you to be cursing the demons out and fighting them, not blaming yourself.”
Lucifer nodded stiffly. “Right.” (Y/N) needed him. He didn’t have time for himself. (Y/N) was what mattered. “Detective, I need your help to figure out where they took (Y/N).”
“Of course, Lucifer. We’ll find them,” said Chloe.
Lucifer’s stomach twisted, and his heart clenched. He had to find (Y/N). He had to protect them. If he couldn’t…he wouldn’t recover.
l
(Y/N)’s eyes opened blearily. Their vision was still blurry, and when they tried to move, they found they were bound. It seemed to be overkill, but as they squirmed, (Y/N) realized the ropes were tight around their torso. Their wings couldn’t get out. The demons were trapping an angel, and they had taken every precaution.
(Y/N) groaned. They blinked, furiously trying to clear their vision, but the drugs were strong. I can’t believe Dad used to do this for fun, they thought. Finally, they managed to piece together that they were in a church. The irony was going to kill them before the drugs.
“Aw, look, the little angel is waking up,” said Dromos, kneeling in front of them.
“Two demons and an angel walk into a church,” said (Y/N). “You guys are a joke in the making.”
Dromos’s eyes narrowed, and he grabbed (Y/N) by the collar. “Listen here, you—”
“Dromos,” said Squee. “Keep your temper. Once this is all over, we’ll have what we want and can do as we wish.”
Dromos rolled his eyes but let go of (Y/N). “Fine, fine.” He glared at them. “But you better start watching your mouth. You’re the powerless one here. We make the rules.”
“You know, the more I meet Celestials and demons, the more I realize they’re just like humans,” muttered (Y/N).
“We are far superior,” said Squee coldly.
“Maybe in stupidity,” sneered (Y/N). “Do you really think this is gonna work? My dad, Lucifer, is going to destroy you. You’ve sealed your own death warrants.”
Dromos leaned in and smirked. “He’s not going to get here before we get what we want. So I’d suggest worrying about yourself.”
(Y/N) forced themself to glare through their fear. They wouldn’t give the demons the satisfaction of getting the reaction they wanted. But still…
            Dad, I need you.

Study motivation kinda elle woods guide
Hmm, ok, let me see what I can do for you!
How to Study like Elle Woods, AND stay MOTIVATED to do so!
Let's look at what her actual studying seems to be in the movie.
We see her reading notes, surrounded by books in that iconic image that's always all over studyblr/pink academia blogs, but I think that one's just for the visuals- and, god do they work!
Here's what I think she's actually doing that works for her
Studying with friends: we see her being coached and quizzed by presumably another sorority sister during the initial montage for the LSATs We also see her spending time with Paulette as she reads through a textbook during the Watch Me Shine montage.
Make studying an ENJOYABLE experience: for Elle, as above, we see her getting her hair done with Paulette, or sitting at her sorority's dining room table with pink candles lit. Her admissions essay video is also about how she applies the subject to her daily life, such as shopping or lazing in the pool with her friends. Sometimes you have to elbows-down grind, but sometimes its worthwhile to get as much fun out of studying as possible Elle pairs her workout with her studying too as seen in Watch Me Shine too.
CELEBRATE YOUR WINS! Sure, Elle had to miss a few parties, but she also gets a huge one thrown for her to celebrate the 179!
That's how you stay motivated to study too- make it something worth doing, make it feel like a rewarding experience. Get a group together with friends, and remember how worth it it'll be when you win!
I hope this was what you wanted, Nonny!

Decoding Entrance Exams: The Role of Coaching Centers
In the contemporary educational landscape, the term "entrance exam" resonates with a profound significance for aspirants seeking entry into various academic domains. Whether it's the rigorous MBA entrance exams, the competitive Common Entrance Test (CET) for undergraduate programs, or the demanding Law entrance examinations, these assessments serve as gateways to coveted educational institutions and career paths. This article delves into the multifaceted realm of entrance exams, exploring their significance, challenges, and the pervasive role of coaching centers in shaping aspirants' journeys.
Entrance exams represent a crucial juncture in the academic trajectory of countless individuals. For aspiring business leaders, MBA entrance exams such as the CAT (Common Admission Test), GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), and XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) are pivotal. These assessments evaluate candidates on various parameters including quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, logical reasoning, and data interpretation. Success in these exams often translates to admission into prestigious business schools, facilitating access to extensive networks, career opportunities, and academic resources.
Similarly, for those aspiring to pursue careers in law, clearing entrance exams like CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) or LSAT (Law School Admission Test) is imperative. These exams assess candidates' aptitude for legal studies, critical thinking skills, and comprehension abilities. Successful performance opens doors to eminent law schools, nurturing future legal luminaries and advocates of justice.
Undergraduate programs across disciplines also entail rigorous entrance exams, often administered through centralized tests like CET. These exams serve as a common platform for admission into diverse courses ranging from engineering and medicine to humanities and social sciences. They assess candidates' subject knowledge, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities, ensuring a level playing field for aspirants from various educational backgrounds.
However, the journey to success in entrance exams is fraught with challenges. The competitive nature of these assessments necessitates meticulous preparation, strategic planning, and unwavering determination. Recognizing this, a burgeoning industry of coaching centers has emerged, catering to the needs of aspirants seeking guidance and support.
Coaching centers have become integral to the preparation strategy of many aspirants, offering structured curriculum, expert faculty, and simulated test environments. These centers provide comprehensive study materials, regular mock tests, and personalized feedback, equipping aspirants with the requisite skills and confidence to excel in their exams.
Moreover, coaching centers serve as knowledge hubs, fostering peer learning and collaborative problem-solving. The interactive classroom sessions facilitate conceptual clarity and foster a deeper understanding of subjects, complementing self-study efforts. Additionally, the mentorship provided by experienced faculty members offers invaluable insights, strategic advice, and motivational support, empowering aspirants to navigate the complexities of entrance exams with resilience and resolve.
However, the proliferation of coaching centers also raises pertinent questions regarding accessibility, affordability, and ethical considerations. While these centers offer valuable resources and guidance, their services often come at a considerable cost, rendering them inaccessible to economically disadvantaged aspirants. Moreover, the commodification of education perpetuates a culture of dependency, where success is equated with external validation rather than intrinsic learning and growth.
Furthermore, the reliance on coaching centers engenders a sense of homogeneity, where aspirants conform to standardized preparation strategies rather than fostering individual creativity and critical thinking. This conformity-centric approach undermines the diverse talents and unique perspectives of aspirants, perpetuating a narrow definition of success based solely on exam performance.
In conclusion, entrance exams wield immense influence in shaping academic trajectories and career aspirations. From MBA entrance exams to CET and Law entrance tests, these assessments serve as gatekeepers to educational opportunities and professional pursuits. While coaching centers play a pivotal role in preparing aspirants for success, their proliferation underscores broader systemic challenges pertaining to accessibility, affordability, and educational equity. Moving forward, it is imperative to foster a culture of inclusive education that prioritizes holistic development, individual empowerment, and equitable access to opportunities, transcending the confines of entrance exams and coaching centers
