Miraculous Descendents Chapter 9: A Storm Is Brewing
Previous Chapter
Nate and Marinette were sitting in Nate's room playing video games.
Nate's room was about the same as Marinette's but with yellow walls. It also had a TV hooked up to multiple gaming systems. Set in front of the walls were shelves full of DVDs and books. There were posters also on the walls of the room.
However, they had another member with them today instead of Tikki. The person was a five-year-old girl.
The little girl had tan skin, brown eyes, and long blackish-brown hair in two pigtails.
The girl wore a white long-sleeve with pulled-up sleeves and purple overalls with pink flower petals. She also wore red flats with a strap on the top of the foot.
"Go, Marinette, go." The little girl called excitedly.
"I'm going, Manon." Marinette grins.
This is Manon Chamack. The daughter of Nadja Chamack. The newswoman who broadcasted Hawkmoth's announcement. Nadja Chamack is actually Sabine's friend from before she married Tom and moved into his hotel. Because of that, Marinette has babysat Manon a few times for Nadja. Today was one of those days.
"No, no, no!" Nate shouts in annoyance as he tries to beat Marinette.
They were playing a racing game where anything goes. Nate suddenly found his cart hit by a rocket. When this happens, he glares at Marinette while saying.
"Seriously, right on the finish line!" He shouts in anger.
Marinette only gives a playful smirk as Manon cheers.
"Yay, Marinette!" Manon shouts in joy.
Manon begins running around the room excitedly while cheering.
Nate watches this and leans toward Marinette.
"She is a ball of energy. How did you babysit her by yourself?" Nate asks with wide eyes.
"She's a good girl once you know how to handle her. Watch." Marinette tells him before looking at Manon.
"Manon, remember that weather girl contest you were excited about?" Marinette asks.
Manon stops and immediately runs towards Marinette excitedly.
"What weather girl contest?" Nate asks with a raised eyebrow.
"KIDZ+ Television has been holding a contest to see who their next weather girl will be. The finalists are two kids from our school." Marinette tells him.
Nate gains a surprised look on his face upon hearing that.
"Seriously, this should be interesting," Nate says.
They changed the TV to the KIDZ+ Television channel. They are now watching an adult male in his mid-twenties announce the contest.
The man was bald with tan skin, dark brown eyebrows, and brown eyes.
The man wore a light blue v-neck shirt with a buttoned collar, white pants, and black and white sneakers.
"Welcome back, everyone. I'm Alec Cataldi, the host of this contest. We've still got some time before the votes come in for our next weather girl. So, let's use that time to go over our lovely finalists." The host said enthusiastically.
The TV changed to a split-screen with two teenage girls on it.
The first girl has light skin, long ash-blond hair in low-angle twin tails, and light blue eyes.
She wore a light blue sleeveless dress under a white jacket and cyan flats. The girl is holding an umbrella with the same color scheme as her outfit.
The second girl has light skin, brown eyes, and shoulder-length dark blue hair in a bowl-cut.
The girl wore a navy blue long-sleeve shirt with white flowers. She also wore white pants and ruby low-heel pumps.
After showing the two, the screen went back to Alec. Who smiles and says.
"For those who don't already know, let me tell you about them."
Suddenly, the background swapped to an image of the first girl.
"Our lovely parasol princess is Aurore Beaureal. A student at Françoise Dupont. Her father is a gondolier, and her mother works at a hospital as a nurse. It seems they enjoy helping people. Whether it's with love or their health." Alec said with a smile.
The second girl's image then appeared behind Alec.
"Our Parisian Dorthy is Mireille Caquet. She is also a student at Françoise Dupont. Her father is a librarian, while her mother is a dentist. Not only that, but Mireille often volunteers at the local animal shelter.
"And here's a crazy coincidence. Not only are these two in the same school and grade. They are also in the same class. What are the chances of that?" Alec enthusiastically asks as an image of Françoise Dupont appears behind him.
Nate cocks an eyebrow at this information.
"Okay, that is a weird coincidence." He tells Marinette and Manon.
"Yeah, I was surprised too when Manon told me about the contest." Marinette nods.
"Yay, Mireille." Manon excitedly cheers.
"Now, remember that if you want your favorite finalist to win, you'll have to submit your vote on our website. The voting will close this early afternoon, so you better hurry." Alec says with a smile.
Manon bounces up and down excitedly and looks at Marinette pleadingly.
"Can I have your phone, Marinette? Please, please, please." Manon pleads with puppy dog eyes.
"Okay, Manon," Marinette says as she pulls out her phone.
However, Manon snatches it the second she gets it out of her pocket and runs over to the bed while excitedly going to the website.
"I think we'll have to get you a new phone." Nate snickers in amusement.
Adrien was currently listening to his Kwami. Who was questioning him about the show he's been watching for the past two days. All the while, said Kwami was relaxing on his cheese wheel.
"Why do the monsters never attack the mecha parts? If they know it will be more powerful as one being, why not stop that? Most obviously lack any honor. For that matter, what happens to civilians during those battles. They can't have evacuated that quickly." Plagg states to Adrien.
"I'm not sure, Plagg. It never really displays those scenes in the show." Adrien tells him.
"Well, I'll say the franchise isn't bad. I've seen worse during my time. Though, characters here and there come off as rather bland." Plagg tells him.
"Then you'll probably enjoy the American version of the series less. Specifically, the more recent ones." Adrien tells him with a chuckle.
Plagg doesn't say anything and stares at Adrien with a smirk. Adrien gets nervous and asks.
"What?"
"Oh, nothing, just couldn't help but notice you seem to be more comfortable with me now." Plagg smirks.
Adrien gains an embarrassed look and goes.
"Sorry, I wasn't expecting you to talk about one of my favorite franchises. I couldn't help but make the joke."
"And back to square one." Plagg flatly says with a deadpan look.
After a little bit of time, Adrien remembered a question he wanted to ask Plagg.
"Hey Plagg, can I ask you a question?" Adrien requests his Kwami.
"Sure, kid, I'm your mentor after all. It's in my job description to give you answers or advice every so often." Plagg lazily said.
"Why does Ladybug have three powers?" Adrien asks.
"Well, unlike me, Tikki always liked to spoil her Chosen. I prefer to make them start from scratch. Especially when my Chosen are like you." Plagg tells him.
"So, it has nothing to do with her herself?" Adrien asks curiously.
"Oh, no, it does. That girl seems better grounded than you. That's most likely from a better support system. However, I can tell that you and she have a similar aura. So, you'll likely get up to her eventually." Plagg tells him.
Adrien stares at Plagg for a time contemplating Plagg's words.
"I wonder if that'll be true; maybe I can ask her? We haven't spoken since Stoneheart." Adrien thought to himself.
Indeed, Hawkmoth had been quiet since Stoneheart. He and Ladybug also didn't know how to contact the other either. That's a problem they should probably fix after the next Akuma.
"Also, why doesn't the military get involved with those heroes? I would think they'd be trying to take control of that giant robot." Plagg tells Adrien.
At the KIDZ+ TV station, Aurore and Mireille are getting ready for the contest. They were both in separate dressing rooms given to them for the contest's duration.
"This is my big chance. Mom and dad are going to be so proud of me. I have got this one in the bag. Mireille is way too shy to be on TV." Aurore giddily said to herself.
She looked at the mirror and made sure her hair and outfit were presentable. When satisfied with herself, she grinned.
"You have got this. You are a storm, and nothing can stop you." Aurore told herself.
Mireille was doing something similar in her room.
"I can't believe I managed to get this far. Theo said he thought I had a good chance, but I didn't expect to get to the finals." Mireille told herself in the mirror in a slight panic.
She then put her head into her hands and groaned.
"Oh, I don't know if I can do this; this feels like too much," Mireille mutters to herself in a slight panic.
"Jean said experiencing being on TV might help my confidence, but this wasn't what I expected," Mireille mutters to herself.
In another part of the building, Alec was talking on his phone.
"Yes, I want the balloons like that. Yes, I'm sure." Alec tells the person on the phone.
He then hangs up and puts his phone in his pocket.
"This is going to be amazing for ratings. Audiences love this kind of thing." Alec told himself with a grin.
After a few minutes, the contest started. Both Aurore and Mireille walked onto the stage. Aurore walks with a confident stride. Mireille, on the other hand, looked nervous. Alec walks to the middle of the stage with his cheery grin.
"It's finally time, everyone. Who will be our next hit weather girl? Will it be our Parasol Princess, Aurore?" Alec says as the camera zooms to Aurore.
Aurore waves to everyone watching and opens her parasol. She then rests it on her arm.
"Or will it be our Parisian Dorthy, Mireille?" Alec asks as the camera swaps to Mireille.
Mireille looked at the camera with a shy smile.
"Well, that is up to all of you. Just send in your votes, and whoever has the most votes at the end will win. Your favorite contestant's fate is in your hands. Good luck." Alec cheerily said with a smile.
Manon excitedly stares at the TV and presses her vote for Mireille.
"Go, Mireille," Manon excitedly said.
"I guess I'll vote then," Nate said as he pulled out his phone and went to the site.
However, Manon quickly steals his phone and votes for Mireille.
"Hey, that is not okay," Nate tells Manon.
"Manon, you can't take people's phones like that." Marinette chastises the girl.
"But I want Mireille to win," Manon whines as she clutches Nate's phone.
"That doesn't mean that you can take his phone. Now, give it back to him." Marinette orders while pointing at Nate.
"No," Manon says stubbornly.
"Manon, now," Marinette tells her with a slight glare.
"No!" Manon shouts before running.
"Manon, give me the phone," Marinette tells her as she and Nate start to chase her.
"Nooooo," Manon whines as she jumps on the bed.
Marinette and Nate quickly move to opposite sides of the bed.
"Can I please have my phone back, Manon?" Nate asks the little girl.
"Am I in trouble?" Manon asks.
"If you give me the phone back, then no. At least for me. Marinette?" Nate asks his step-cousin.
"Manon, if you don't give the phone back, I will tell your mom," Marinette warns her.
Manon looks at the phone before giving it to Nate.
"Sorry." The little girl tells him while looking down at the bed.
"You're fine, but don't do that again," Nate tells the girl as he takes his phone.
Manon doesn't say anything, and Marinette says.
"Let's finish watching the contest."
Manon perked up and immediately put her attention to the TV excitedly.
The votes were open to the audience for about an hour. To the step-cousins, Aurore, and Mireille's surprise, it was an overwhelming victory in Mireille's favor.
"Wow, will you look at that? An 82% in favor of our resident Parisian Dorthy. What an unexpected upset. Everyone, give a round of congratulations to our new KIDS+ Television weather girl, Mireille Caquet." Alec said as he began clapping towards Mireille.
A recording of cheers and claps played for Mireille as the camera focused on her. Aurore stares at her opponent in shock.
"82%? But we're both finalists. Plus, I've always done better than her during this contest. How did this happen?" She quietly mutters to herself in shock.
Gabriel senses these growing negative feelings in his office.
"Interesting. It seems someone is feeling a mix of shame, jealousy, and public humiliation. Not just any form of public humiliation, but the kind you would feel when on television." Gabriel thought as he stood up slightly.
Alec walks over to Aurore and smiles while telling her.
"Man, she crushed you. I guess you better luck next time." Alec tells her.
Aurore angrily glares at him before storming off.
"What's the big deal? You only lost by half a million votes!" Alec shouts toward her.
"Ah, and now anger has been added to her feelings. She will be perfect for my second Akuma." Gabriel thought with a smile.
Nooroo appears from the brooch under his tie.
"Nooroo, dark wings rise," Gabriel says as he transforms into Hawkmoth.
After he does this, Gabriel says something else.
"Kaleidoscope."
Akuma butterflies appear around Gabriel and transport him underground into his secret bunker. When he arrives, the dome window opens up to his glass window.
"It is time again," Gabriel said as he held out his hand.
He formed another dark energy construct of a butterfly.
"Fly my little Akuma, and let us form a contract with this girl." Hawkmoth orders.
Aurore angrily walks into the station's elevator. After the doors closed, Aurore fell to her knees and started crying.
"Why, why did she get so many more votes? How did I lose to her that badly?" Aurore cries to herself as she folds into a fetal position.
The Akuma slid through the closed elevator doors towards Aurore. Aurore looked up in time to see this Akuma. When she saw it, she panicked and swung her parasol at it.
"Getaway, I saw you on the news a couple weeks ago! I know what you want!" Aurore screams as she tries to fend off the Akuma with her parasol.
However, the action did nothing but help the Akuma. The Akuma enters the parasol, and Aurore seems to shut down. After her body stops moving, a butterfly outline appears in front of her face.
"It is not what I want, but what we want. I am here to give you the power to right the wrong done to you. In exchange, I want you to get me the Miraculous." Hawkmoth tells her in a somewhat soothing tone of voice.
"Yes, Hawkmoth," Aurore tells him as an evil smirk appears on her face.
Black smoke envelops Aurore, and when it dissipates, she is in her Akuma form.
Unlike Ivan, Aurore didn't turn into a monstrous being. She instead looked far more like a human supervillain.
Aurore's skin was now a pale grayish color, and her hair was now two-toned with dark purple hair and pale blue spirals. Her twin tails were now in a stinger-like style.
Over Aurore's face is a jagged black domino mask with lightning bolts going down the cheeks. Covering her entire body is a tight blackish-purple and blue two-piece dress with a bell-like skirt. On her abdomen is a light purple lightning bolt. There were lightning bolts on her legs. Her dress had puffed up shoulders and had long white gloves that covered the entire arm with lightning bolts above the elbows. Matching her cloves is a pair of white knee-high low-heel boots.
Her parasol has also changed. It was now dark purple with a pink pearl-like tip and rounded corners.
"It's time for the weather girl to make her forecast prediction, and Stormy Weather says that the people of Paris are in for some villainous weather," Aurore says with an evil smirk on her face.

Ladybug the Law is the Law CH9
Sorry this is so late guys, i needed to get past a writer’s block and then i needed to deal with some other stuff, in RL.  and here it is finally and i hope to have a good gift for all of you this Christmas

Adrien looked at the black pants and a black jacket/vest with dark blue pockets he was wearing before looked at how he looked in the mirror with the rig and smirked.  “You know I look normal with black hair.”
“You’re just lucky that it’s a cold enough for some people to wear a jacket.” Marinette said as she looked at him holding the arms of the jacket and sighed.  “But it isn’t cold enough for the full piece so……”
“Yeah, good call with the zipper arms.”  Adrien said and Marinette shrugged.
“It was like that when I found it; it did give me a few ideas and it taught me a few ideas about some tricks to try out.” Marinette said with a laugh that caused Adrien to stare at her and blush and he heard Plagg snicker in the jacket vests pocket.
“Well this is pretty good. Why’d whoever give it to a thrift store?” Adrien asked and Marinette chuckled and smirked.
“I had to replace a zipper on one side, there was a stain on the pockets that caused me to cut them away and put in some new ones, that’s why they’re a different color.” Marinette said and Adrien ahhed.
“Thanks for this Marinette, I better go before Nadja gets here, see you after where ever we’re supposed to meet up.” Adrien asked and Tikki spoke up before Marinette could.
“The movie theater in the 17th near the Arc.” Tikki said from Marinette’s purse.
“Thanks Sugarclub, come on lover boy the sooner we’re done, the sooner we can talk to Fu and the others.” Plagg said from a pocket in the jacket and Marinette looked away with a blush as Tikki giggled.
“I’ll meet you and the others there, this way we won’t press our luck more then we have to.” Adrien said as he looked at Marinette and took a deep breath.  “And we will have to have a talk before Monday.”
“About…..” Marinette asked and Adrien looked at her.
“Us.” Adrien said and Marinette blushed and looked away.  Adrien bent over and kissed Marinette’s forehead and she blushed harder and he smiled at her as he rubbed her right cheek.  “I’ll see you at Fu’s.”
“Wait, don’t forget this.” Marinette said as she handed him a slice of cheese breed wrapped up and Adrien smiled at her and hugged her.
“Thanks Marinette, thank you for being you.” Adrien said before he quickly left through the door and moved along the streets towards a location he could transform and blushed a little bit for what he had done.
“Nice going lover boy, and what do you want to name your kittens?” Plagg teased and Adrien looked down as Plagg snickered.
“Plagg, will you keep it down?!”  Adrien said as he looked around, hoping that no one was nearby enough to see or curious enough to investigate.
“Relax, nobodies close enough to hear us.” Plagg said and Adrien looked around and force himself to relax a tiny bit but kept walking, his eyes looking around for any trace that someone had heard Plagg.  “And if anyone does hear they’ll probably think your phone is on speaker.”
Adrien kept quiet as he walked through Paris and away from the area of both the school and the bakery, he had to find a place to transform that he wouldn’t be seen.  “We have to be careful Plagg, especially now.  Once mistake and this will be like the time Marinette and I tried to see that movie!”
“You’re paranoid, but in your case that’s a good point.” Plagg admitted as Adrien walked down a blind alley a few moments later.
“Plagg, claws out!” Adrien said and within a moment he had transformed into Chat Noir and jumped upwards and began dashing over the Paris skyline.  You know I’m right kid
Marinette stayed still for minutes after Adrien had left until Tikki moved up and got in her face, grinning at her.  “I told you he would still like you Marinette!”
Marinette snapped out of her daze and still blushing moved upstairs and got the area ready for when Manon would get here, leaving Tikki to follow behind and giggle as she flew after her chosen.  Five minutes later Marinette was finished putting the last finishing touches on the living room when she heard the doorbell and gestured for Tikki to hide and hurried down stairs and opened the door and smiled when she saw who was there.
“Some one’s been dying to see you again Marinette.” Nadja said with smiled at Marinette as Manon hugged the designer.
“Marinette!” Manon called happily as Marinette laughed a little, glad that Manon was still the same given the chaos of the last few days.
“Hi Manon, my friend Alya is coming over later so let’s hope unlike the first time there isn’t an Akuma attack.” Marinette said and Manon giggled.   “Now I left out a juice box and cookies upstairs, who can I trust to be a good girl and go drink it and eat the vegetable cookies?”
“ME!” Manon called out and Marinette let her run to the stairs and walked up them carefully.
“Thanks again Marinette, I’m sorry for bothering you like this all last minute but I was originally going to have the day off but then my boss called me and I had to go in for a surprise interview. So everything is good then I’ll be back before noon.” Nadja said as she handed over a small bag and Marinette nodded.
“Don’t worry; this is fine. And I might be on hand to watch her during the mornings on weekdays in the future if you need me to.” Marinette said with a smirk as Nadja looked shocked.  “I’m going to be homeschool for the rest of the year at least, so I’ll get back to you about what days I might be able to handle her.”
“Did something happen at school?” Nadja asked and Marinette sighed.
“That is a long story that I can’t legally talk about until my expulsion hearing.” Marinette said and held up a hand as Nadja opened her mouth.  “LEGALLY I can’t talk about it, but once I can I’ll tell you the whole story okay.”
“I’ll be back in a few hours Marinette, thanks again.”  Nadja said and walked off, a frown on her face.  Why, in the name of everything on this planet would Marinette, Marinette of all the students in that school be expelled, this makes enough sense as….. nothing at all!  I think I have a new subject for my next investigation, the current state of the Paris Education department and schools! She thought as she looked at the school across the street and she hoped that it wasn’t as bad as she feared it was.
As Marinette moved upstairs she saw Manon as she drank her juice and smiled at her.  “Okay I’ve got a game, there’s a good movie you like or you could play one of the video games your mom brought.”
“Movie!”  Manon said and Marinette turned the TV on and she laughed as it started.
Marinette got out a drawing pad and started to work on a dress design as she sighed, happy that this would be easy for once.
“Hey Marinette, your parents said I could come up and help…… okay TV and movie, good.” Alya said softly as she came up from below.
Chat Noir dropped down into a back ally and dropped his transformation and Plagg flew into his pocket that Adrien put the cheese slice and Adrien could hear the kwami eat the food. He moved out the alley and saw Louise waiting by his car and moved towards him.  “Hey Louise!”
Louise looked up and blinked a few times before he realized who he was seeing.  “That you kid, I wouldn’t have known it was you if I hadn’t heard you!”
“Thanks, she does good work doesn’t she?” Adrien asked as he smirked as he got into the backseet and Louise got into the driver’s seat and started the car.  As they drove along Adrien looked at the windows and whistled.
“What’s with the tainted widows?” He asked as he felt Plagg move against him and waited
“Security feature that I got when my car needed to be replaced.”  Louise said and smirked at Adrien through the review mirror.  “Let me tell you, that modification really help me get my clients around safely.  And at least this way your fans won’t see you in the windows!”
Adrien laughed lightly as they drove through Paris, letting the radio takeover the small talk.  As they passed by a Limo Adrien went white as he saw the Gorilla in driver’s seat.  As the car passed by and he looked back and saw the limo drive away he breathed easily.
“Yeah kid I know, we passed your family’s car.  Don’t react, we’re almost there.  All we have to do is make it a few more blocks and we’re home free.”  Louise said and Adrien sighed as he leaned back. “Don’t worry, I’ve got this car after your mom disappeared and he doesn’t know what my license plate is so we’re golden.”
Adrien kept silent and Louise looked at him and frowned, not liking how Adrien was behaving.  Come on kid, I know that Gab did a number on you, but I really want to believe that there’s still a way for the both of you to heal.  He thought as he went over everything that he could do to get a rise out of him.  “Hey kid, your dad ever tell him the first time he met your mother she threw up on him?”
“No, really?” Adrien asked and Louise laughed a little.
“Okay, let me tell you all about how those two met.  It was college, Gabriel was putting together this fashion show and your mom was between shows at the theater so she decided to give it a try, IE her sis talked her into it.  Of course acting and modeling is kinda different so she was nervous as heck.” Louise said as he drove the car through Paris.  “Unfortunately her sister gave her a cure but it was actually meant to purge her system and well you can guess what happened when Gabriel walked up.”
“No way!”  Adrien said and started to laugh.
“Yeah, man o man he had this expression as what the fuck happened and then Emilie was apologizing and then Gabe went and changed into his spare clothing, it was his suit and then he started the show, and since it was high class clothing his complimented it and he got a great review!” Louise said and laughed.  “Emilie worked in a few more of his shows and then they started to date after they graduated and then well you know.”
“You know they never told me that story.  Any other stories like that?” Adrien asked and Louise laughed and shook his head as he looked into his past.
“Plenty kid, plenty!” Louise said as he looked into his past and snickered.  “I’ll tell you all about then once we’re inside there.”
“There? Oh.” Adrien said as he saw they were just in front of a blocky building with a garage door next to a black glass door with a card reader and a keypad next to both doors and he whistled.  “You know, I never noticed that before.”
“Yeah, I know what you mean.” Louise said with a sigh.  “Strange isn’t it?”
“Yeah.”  Adrien said as they drove up to the garage door and Louise opened his window and inserted a card into the card reader next to the garage door and put in a code before it started to open.
They drove into a well-lit garage with rows of parking spaces and a door on the other side with a card reader next to it.    Louise parked and then parked the car, Louise looked at Adrien and smiled. “Okay kid as we went into the door, it started to close and we just need to wait another minute then we’ll be able to leave.  And don’t worry about anyone talking about you being here, everyone signs a contract of confidentiality and if anyone talks, everyone is punished until the person responsible is discovered.”
“Oh.” Adrien said and looked at the garage door and saw it closed and then he opened the car door and Louise got out as well.
“Another fun fact, the door to the waiting room outside turns twice, no way for anyone to get camera shots of inside.”  Louise said as they walked towards the door to the building, it opened and a man in a suit with a face mask and thick glasses walked out and signed a few words to Louise who nodded at him.  “And the doctor is great with people who have particular objections and personal requirements to their treatment, hey man how’s it been?”
The man signed a few more words and walked away towards a car and got in, not reacting and Adrien looked at Louise who grinned.
“Motion sensors, this way the doors out only open when nobody is out of the building.” Louise said and Adrien whistled.
“They really work to keep their clients identities safe don’t they?” Adrien asked and Louise nodded with a laugh.
“Yeah they do kid.” Louise said as he opened the door and then walked infront of him into a waiting room with a girl Adrien’s age with black glasses, pink hair and she was wearing a nurse’s uniform with a black hat on.  Adrien noticed that she was wearing a grey choker around her neck.  “Hello, wait are you Sarah’s daughter Lisa?”
“Yes I am, are you the three 10 o’clock appointment a MERZETH?”  Lisa asked and Louise nodded and grinned at Adrien.
“And another thing, they give our appointments code names and password.  Yes, I am Mr. Duty.”  Louise said with a smirk. “Kid go with her, she’ll take you and I’ll be here when you get back.”    Adrien nodded and walked after Lisa who led him to a room and gestured for him to enter. As Adrien sat down in one of the chairs Plagg pushed his head out and looked at Adrien.
“I’m going to poke around a bit; this is about an hour right?”  Plagg said before he darted away, Adrien watching helplessly.
Plagg flew through the vents and smirked as he saw black cobwebs followed them until he reached a drop and moved down until he found a circle of the black webs on the side and phased through it into a small chamber with a black sphere of the webs that glowed, illuminating the space.
“I thought I felt you Webby!” Plagg said with a grin as he looked at who he had found.
“Don’t call me Webby stinky sock!”  A high pitched voice said as a spider like Kwami with four ‘stick legs’ sticking out of it’s back and it had it’s arms crossed.  “And what are you two doing here?!  I thought you all went with those people to Tibet centuries ago!”
“The order fell before WW2 Zera.”  Plagg said and Zera looked at him in shock and gasped.
“Then this Hawkmoth thing isn’t those guys trying to drag us out of hiding?!”  Zera said, shocked.  Plagg looked at her before wincing, remembering a few things the Order had done to get some of their holders to give the Miraculous over to their ‘care’.
“No, it really isn’t. So how about, want to talk your holder into fighting alongside us?” Plagg asked and Zera looked down, her mind elsewhere.  “What is it; your’s is on the side of the good right?”
“Yeah, but she’s not one who likes to fight.  I mean my powers are best with a team, my webs can hold foes down or help protect others, and she’s a medic!”  Zera said and then looked at Plagg.  “I’ll talk to her, I’ll say that I found you when I saw Chat Noir on the roof and you detransformed and you swung by while your holder was eating at a restaurant nearby.”
Nadia walked into the hotel and looked around, trying to find her crew when she spotted someone waving at her from the elevators.
“Hey Nadia, sorry about calling you in but we really didn’t have a choice.”  The executive said and looked at her with an apologetic look on his face.  “I mean nobody expect that to happen to him, really we didn’t.  I’m sorry; I’ll give you a day off with half pay so please I’m sorry.”
“We were just lucky that I could get a babysitter, that’s all I will say about this.  So who am I meeting with?”  Nadia asked and he sighed at her answer and bowed to her.
“An executive from a movie theater that is looking to open a studio nearby, and by nearby I mean outside the range of him.”  The executive said and Nadia looked shocked.  “We need you to well, read off a few question for the preliminaries and hopeful if nothing happens then we’ll have an interview at the studio.”
“That’s something; I mean it would be the first new business that’s come into the city in, well since this thing started!”  Nadia said and the executive nodded.
“Then you see how this could be big, right?” The executive said with a smile.  “And the studio might make a superhero movie first!”
“That is amazing.” Nadia said and looked up at the clock and nodded.  “But I have to be finished before noon, I promised the sitter that I’d get her before then and this was last minute.”
“Of course, I promise no more than an hour.”  The executive said as they walked towards the elevators,
“Nice, and I might have a good story about one of the local school within the next few days.”  Nadia said and the executive looked interested as the doors closed. Meanwhile outside the Agreste limo came to a stop in front of the hotel and pulled to a stop.
Nathalie got out and looked at the ‘Gorilla’ and nodded at him.  “Go park nearby, hopefully I’ll have Adrien and we’ll be back at the mansion in a few hours.”
The Gorilla looked at her and grunted and scowled at her, and Nathalie winced and looked down.  “I promise I won’t stop you if at the end of it all Gabriel and Adrien doesn’t make up and fix this, you can take Adrien to the police and testify okay?”
‘Gorilla’ nodded and Nathalie looked around at the hotel and walked inside, her eyes looking all over trying to find a clue that Adrien was there.   After a few moments a hand fell onto her shoulder and she turned to see the mayor looking at her with a smile.
“Nathalie my dear, how are you?  You usually talk to my people over the phone if you need the space, has something happened?” Chloe’s father, André Bourgeois the mayor of Paris asked as he stood there in his usual clothes.  Nathalie looked at him and smiled.
“No, I just thought I’d hit the café here and grab a coffee.  With everything that happened lately I thought it might be best that I grab one from here.” Nathalie said and Andre sighed and shook his head.
“I know just what you mean my dear.  With all Hawkmoth and now this newcomer, what’s her name, Karula Zayura….. whatever. First it was how people just needed to feel strong emotions and now what she uses to make monsters, I just don’t know what Paris is coming too.  Thankfully tourism hasn’t fallen too much.” He said with a laugh.
“I think her name was Mayura, and it’s never a good idea to taunt the crazy Mr. Mayor, I would have the name memorized before any speeches.” Nathalie said frostily and Andre nodded.
“Of course, but with the special guest I have……opps!  Please forget I ever said anything my dear, and don’t mention it to Gabriel.” Andre said as he looked at her.
Nathalie kept silent and looked at him and barely kept a smile down.  “So you don’t want Gabriel to know about it then?”
“Just until the announcement my dear, a day at most and then go right ahead.” Andre said and he shrugged. “I know it sounds convoluted but that’s what they wanted.”
“I understand completely, truly I do.” Nathalie said and smiled at in self-thought victory.  “Just for the sack of wondering, is the guest in the ninth Suite, that has nothing to do with this one right?”
“Oh of course, we were obliged to give that room to them, a point of honor as you can guess.” Andre said and then looked at the clock and then nodded.  “I’m so sorry, but I have to leave, I have a meeting about a concert and well I don’t want to be late.”
“Of course, I’m sorry that I took so much time from you.”  Nathalie said and watched him leave before taking out her phone.
Nath; I have two pieces of evidence that he’s here, plan is a go
Gabe;  Good, I’ll see you with him hopefully, good luck.
Nathalie walked towards the café and looked around the lobby, she was sure Adrien was here and once Gabriel found the right target, she would have her chance.  Once it started she would go up to the top floor and then she would find Adrien and talk to him about everything as the Gorilla drove them away from the attack.
“When you have that court date, call me.  I want to have a talk with your nutritionists, a talk involving my hands around his neck.” Doctor Albert Wayzong said with a glare as he looked at Adrien.  When he had seen Adrien’s results it had taken some fast talking before he hurt Louise and then after hearing that Adrien was filling for emancipation and he calmed down a bit after that.
“Thanks doc, I really appraised it.” Adrien said as he shook Albert’s hand.  Doctor Albert Wayzong was a middle aged man with a bald head and had blue eyes and a small beard.  He was wearing a blue shirt under a white doctor’s coat and black pants.  Adrien leaned against the wall and after a moment he felt Plagg press against him from within his coat and he kept a grin down. “And this place is great; I mean you’ve got great service and well you really take care of your clients privacy!”
“Don’t thank me my boy, this place was set up after one too many paparazzi broke down my old place. And helping you, well that was part of my weakly charity work.  Keeps my optimism alive and I get to stay in practice.”  Doctor Albert said with a laugh.
“Goodbye, come again!” Lisa waved as she sat behind the counter.  As she looked down at her pocket she frowned and looked up at the doctor and cleared her throat.  “Sorry doc, bathroom breaks be right back in a bit.”
Adrien and Louise walked out and got into Louise’s car and then they were on the road outside of the building.
“Okay, so where do I need to take you Adrien?” Louise asked and Adrien looked at him.
“Back to where you dropped me, that’s all I need to get back to my friends.” Adrien said as he felt Plagg push against him from his pocket.  Louise smiled at them and shook his head.  “Anyhow, I’m sure that with how the doc reacted to your physical that part of the case is won, just give me a few more days to look over everything my investigators have found and your own interview I think we’ll win, but I am sorry you had to do this kid.”
“I know Louise, I know.” Adrien said and looked thoughtful.  This is going to be very hurtful no matter what happens, I guess in the end I have to hope that dad wasn’t this way on purpose. But I don’t understand how he could have done this otherwise. He thought as he looked out the car’s window, not paying attention to anything until he felt the car stop.
“We’re here kid, are you sure you’re okay?”  Louise said and Adrien nodded and got out of the car and bashed towards the alley, slipping down it and after a few moments he found the dead end he had dropped his transformation before.
“Well kid that was hopeful.” Plagg said as he grinned at Adrien and smiled.  “I can’t wait to talk to the others at Fu’s!”
“What is it Plagg?” Adrien asked and Plagg grinned wider.
“Let’s just say that I might have helped us win a victory today, and I really hope I did something right this time!”  Plagg said with a grin.  “But I’ll talk about it later, let’s go kid!”
“Right, Plagg, Claws out!” Adrien called out before transforming into Chat Noir and then he leapt upwards and moved towards the meeting point.
“Thank you so much for this Marinette, this was such a blessing.” Nadia said as she held Manon’s hand as she smiled at Marinette.  Nadia looked between Alya and Marinette and then looked between them.  “Are you sure I can’t get you to tell me what happened at your school?”
“No, I really don’t want to talk about it.  But I will tell you when I can okay?” Marinette promised and Nadia nodded.
As Nadia walked away holding Manon’s hand Marinette waved as she watched them walk away and Alya looked at him and laughed a little.
“That wasn’t as bad I feared you know?” Alya said and Marinette nodded.
“Manon’s very sweat, either just right or is a complete monster that destroys everything.” Marinette said and then looked at her watch.  “Come on, we’ve got to meet the boys!”
“Yeah, but you know that she won’t give up right?” Alya asked at they walked away from the bakery. Marinette sighed and nodded.
“Being you’re friend taught me that about reporters.  And I hope we get paperwork back after that tells me at least what this will be.” Marinette said with a sigh that turned into a glare.  “My parents and I talked about it; if we have to we will sue the school and or my former principle and trial by public works too.”
“Ladies, hey!” Nino’s voice kept Alya from reacting and turning towards his voice she smiled and kissed his check.
“Hey you ready for this?” Alya asked and Nino grinned and looked at them.
“Yeah, we’re just waiting on Maxie and his bot?” Nino asked and Alya nodded.
“Don’t wait for me everyone, I’m here!”  Max said from behind them and Marinette jumped and looked at Max as he stood there and smiled at them.
“Learning to walk silently bot boy?” Alya asked and Max laughed and rubbed the back of his head.
“Well, all those times I ran and hide from Akuma’s had to have done something to me sooner or later.” Max said with a smirk.
“Let’s go, we have a nice walk until we get there.” Marinette said a she walked off, her eyes looking all over until Alya looked at her and cleared her throat.
“Uh girl, are you looking for someone?” Alya asked as Nino and Max looked at Marinette as
“I’m looking for Lila, she can’t follow us.” Marinette said and the others looked at each other and nodded, all of them agreeing that if Lila found out anything about this then it would be bad.
Sabrina smiled at Chloe as they walked through the streets, glad that they had spent the day listing to the bands and having lunch out.  “So think we’ll have to do that after Marinette’s hearing?”
“Probably yeah.  I mean I wasn’t a great student but they should have called me out on a lot of the stuff I did.” Chloe said with a scowl as she looked away.
“You really don’t like Miss. Bustier at all, do you?”  Sabrina asked and Chloe got an ugly look on her face.
“If there are word that describe how I feel about that bi…..witch I don’t know them in French, English or Chinese!” Chloe said with a growl.   And that’s why I really didn’t think that teacher bitch deserved Marinette’s work like that, sorry Mari but sometimes there is collateral damage. Chloe thought with a frown as she looked away from Sabrina and sighed.
“Hey what are they doing?” Sabrina asked suddenly and Chloe looked up and saw Marinette, Nino, Alya and Max walking on the other side of the road and Chloe looked closer when she saw Marinette was looking all around.  “Are they going somewhere?”
“And they don’t want anyone to know.” Chloe whispered as she pulled Sabrina to a storefront.  “Don’t look at them, look at their reflection, and keep your eyes focused on Marinette.”
“Chloe?” Sabrina asked before she could see Marinette look all around through the cars passing by the window.  “What is this?”
“Marinette probably doesn’t want Lila to find them so let’s follow so we can intercept her.” Chloe said as she led Sabrina parallel to Marinette and friends.  “Come on, let’s help her out since we couldn’t during the attack.”
Sabrina laughed a little and let herself be dragged along behind her
Chloe looked at them as they followed Marinette and the others, a frown on her face as they
As the four friends moved turned down the alley Chloe frowned and moved quickly and quietly towards it as Sabrina followed behind.
“What is it Chloe?” Sabrina asked and Chloe ignored her.  “We saw where they were going, and Lila isn’t around here as far as we know.”
“This theater, it’s had the same owner for years, they always pay their taxes full even when they have terrible business, dad’s been……” Chloe trailed off as she saw Chat Noir drop down by them and a flash turned him into Adrien with a black cat kwami floating by his head.  Sabrina’s mouth dropped open as Chloe looked from Marinette to Max, Alya and Nino and suddenly Chat Noir flashed and Adrien was standing there with a little creature hovering over his shoulder. “Oh my. god.”
“Adrien, how was the checkup?” Marinette asked and Adrien frowned a little.
“Not as bad as I feared but better then I hoped, I’m getting a bit underweight and well Plagg said that while the Miraculous help us use energy in a balance and heal us, it can’t make things from nothing.” Adrien said and rubbed the back of his neck.
A sound from the door caused them to look up and see Master Fu looking out at them and smiling with a look that had a hint of mischief in it.
“Ahh there you all, come in come in.”  Fu said as he gestured for them to come into the door and then pointed towards a doorway farther down.  “This way my young friends.”
“I can’t believe it, I mean it’s so obvious.” Chloe said dumbly as she watched them walk into the door and then she ran towards it after it closed and then calmly brought out two pieces of metal and got to work on the door
“Chloe what are you doing?!” Sabrina demanded as she watched Chloe work.
“I’m not giving up a chance to give that old man a piece of my mind for throwing Marinette and Adrien at Hawkmoth!”  Chloe said as she unlocked the door and they saw a hallway, a door closing a few feet away.
Fu led the way into his apartment under the theater and opened the Miraculous Box and let the kwami out, but only those who had partners who went to their humans as they all sat down and Fu brought out a tea set and cups, filling them with tea and.
“Welcome, one and all.” Fu said as he bowed to them.  “I had lost hope that I would ever sit with chosen of the Kwami again.”
“Is there a difference between us and Hawkmoth and his blue witch?” Alya asked and Fu nodded before looking at her with a glare and she swallowed.
“Yes, but I must insist that you keep it from your blog.  If Hawkmoth or anyone else finds out about it!”  Fu said and Alya nodded.
“Chill, I’ll keep quiet, I promise.” Alya said as Trixx giggled from her place on top of Alya’s head.
“I told you she was a true Fox!  We know when to find and when to hide!” Trixx said and Alya looked at her.  “And we choose you Alya, we choose all of you.”
“Indead.”  Kaalki said and nodded.  “Each of you have traits that we Kwami……. The closest word in the common tongue is resonate but it fails to catch a few things.  This was so much easier when people spoke Altantian.”
“The problem with the wish, as Plagg has said is that it is balance in its purist form.  To make a selfish wish, that causes the universe to deal the same damage to the wisher.” Fu said as he put down the teapot and looked at them.  “To save a life of a loved one, a loved one is struck down.  To cure of a terrible diseases, then they get another one just as bad.”
“Wait, Atlantis was real!? What happened to it?!” Max asked and Adrien only pointed at Plagg.
“He did.” Adrien said and every human aside from him, Fu and Marinette stared open mouthed.
“To be fair, I had no choice.  There was this monstrosity that was part animal and plant, and Tikki’s powers can’t destroy life.” Plagg said and looked down.  “Unfortunately it had it’s roots all under the island and well.”
“And this wish couldn’t be used then why?” Nino asked and Tikki nodded.
“My holder at the time, she died before and her body fell into the sea.  I slept for hundreds of years until it made it to shore and I found someone I could see would use it right.  I meet Plagg again about three hundred years later in the early days of Rome.” Tikki said and looked down at the floor.
“What happened to you Plagg?” Adrien asked and Plagg shrugged.
“Me and my holder had a fallen out with the survivors and fought our way free and with like-minded people escaped to what you all know as Africa and I spent the next few hundred years fighting against them, and then I found Tikki and a few hundred years later the Guardians found us.” Plagg said with a scowl.  “The survivors really went mad after that.”
“So what was Atlantis like?” Max asked with stars in his eyes.
“It had a caste based society, only it wasn’t based on birth but potential and what they would like. They had an understanding of sociology that is still unmatched so their tests helped a lot of people find their passions.”  Wayzz said with a laugh as the Kwami grinned.   “One of our missing siblings was usually partnered with a member of the Healing Caste, and they passed on many things to the Guardians.”
“Amazing, but back up a bit okay. Then you think Hawkmoth is after the wish to save someone?” Alya asked and Marinette looked down before she nodded as a scowl grew on her face. “Why, what happened?”
“It was the last time we fought Mayura.” Adrien began and looked at Marinette who was just a s messed up as him.
“The day that I was expelled and that mass attack fizzled out, Mayura made an appearance.  She tried to trick Adrien with a Ladybug Senti-Monster…… I gave the item that created her to her and Mayura, she just killed her by recalling the energy used to create her.” Marinette said as she hugged her arms and looked down, never noticing that Adrien had hugged her as well or the stormy expression on her face was mirrored on his. “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget the look in her eyes as she died!”
“Oh Mari…..” Alya whispered as they all took in what she had said.
“Dude….. that’s evil on another level.” Nino siad and even Max with his limited social skills knew that this was beyond anything.  Even Fu looked both mad and sad.
“In fact, all that I know that shouldn’t have been possible.  Once the Imok has it’s item, you can’t just recall the energy used, and as someone who has created one I should know, you need the item to destroy banish it away, otherwise you can’t.”  Fu said as he looked at the children before him.  “But what happens next is why we think this.”
“She got sick, like she almost passed out.” Marinette said and looked at them with a haunted look in her eyes.  “And then Hawkmoth appeared and saved her.”
“Hawkbutt came out of his lair?! Dude.” Nino breathed and Alya looked shocked as Max’s glass slipped off his head.  A gasp caused them all to turn and see two figures at the stairs, Chloe and Sabrina.
“CHLOE?!?” Adrien gasped and Marinette face palmed as Pollen who had been hovering by the gamohpone shot towards her and hugged her cheek.
“The puns, how caring Marinette is, I should have seen it.” Chloe said and Sabrina looked out from behind her and waved.
“How the hell?” Alya asked as Fu looked on and stroked his beard and Chloe shrugged.
“Sabrina saw you four move along the streets and I saw Marinette looking around and then we saw Adrien transform back and then I picked the lock.” Chloe said with a shrug at the looks she was getting.  “What, I had to do something to pass the time when I was younger and stuck in my apartment while dad was out, learning to break out was something to do, at least until he moved me to the roof.”
“Come in, the both of you, let us talk for a bit.” Fu said as he looked at Chloe and Sabrina, his eyes on them and with a curious glint in his eyes.  “I have wanted to talk to you for a while Miss. Bourgeois.  And this is as good a time as any.”
“Good.  I wanted to talk to the person who chooses kids to fight Hawkbutt anyway.” Chloe said as she glared at Fu as he grinned as the others looked at her.

How To Analyze a Character
Have you ever been reading a fic and found the character is not recognizable that causes you to say “I don’t know who that is in that Marinette suit but that’s not Marinette.”
Or when you’re writing there’s that one character you need and you just can’t get inside their head to save your life.
This essay is going to delve into how to analyze characters and how they work in stories. It will help you both articulate why you do or don’t like a particular character or their interpretation, and help you in your own writing of that character.
Characters, as well as other elements of a narrative, can be broken down into collections of  recognizable elements often called “tropes.” (For the comprehensive taxonomy see tvtropes.org.) These commonly recurring literary and rhetorical devices, motifs or clichés can be combined in unique ways. They exist as recognizable and namable concepts because the same patterns are used over and over again in the creation of stories. We can use named tropes to describe what we are seeing in one story and relate it to other instances of the same phenomenon.
The advantage of recognizing the tropes that describe a character means that we can import into our understanding of them all of the other instances of that trope we have come across, and then compare and contrast these characters.
For example, both Chloé and Adrien exhibit the “Well Done, Daughter/Son!” Girl/Guy trope, desperately seeking the approval of a distant and withholding parent. (Faramir in the Lord of The Rings and Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion are also prime examples.) Knowing that they are both participants in this kind of relationship we can see how it plays out differently.
Gabriel seems like a deliberate ass, but occasionally manifests approval as when he played the duet with Adrien before sending him off to  the Kitty Section concert in Capitan Hardrock.  Audrey is entirely un-reflexive in her horribleness, dismissive rather than demanding and only ever recognizes Chloé’s worst feature as admirable. Kagami is also a “well done daughter!” girl and it informs how she relates to Adrein, Chloé, Marinette and Ladybug, providing both for character connection and thematic contrast.
On the production side, tropes can be used deliberately to construct a character to achieve a particular purpose. Adrien was created using the standard tropes of the fairy tale princesses beauty, musical talent, kindness to all creatures (even Chloe), kept looked up by an unloving parental figure. By creating a stereotypical Disney princess but swapping the gender it causes us to think harder about the assumptions we make about Princesses.
Symbols work the same way. We use symbolic images and language in media because it allows us to reference all the other ways and places that symbol is used. It becomes a shorthand for much bigger units of meaning. Pure originality would be completely unintelligible.
For example, Marinette displays two flower motifs on a regular basis. One is the cherry blossom spray across her shirt. Commonly this is associated with both love and passion, as well as purity and transitory beauty. In China, the last three are more closely associated with the Plum blossoms that decorate her purse, chair, and diary. Along with the additional significance of  perseverance and hope, we can see that her dreams for the future, however heard she works for them, may not turn out as she plans.
The cherry blossom, in China, is a symbol of passion, strength, and feminine power and sexuality. As Marinette has this symbol peeking out from behind her jaket on the left side of her shirt, it represents how her civilian persona hasn’t fully come into the power she displays as Ladybug. Adrien’s kwami was chosen to be a Black Cat specifically to call up all our associations with them and bad luck as a counterpoint to Ladybug and her Lucky Charm.
Pikachu, I Choose You!: Artistic Decisions
You would think this wouldn’t need to be said but remember, remember, remember: these fictional characters are not real people. Why does that matter? Because everything you see on the screen or on the page is the result of a choice made by the writer or artist.
Images and dialogue may be selected deliberately, thoughtfully, thematically, instinctually, carelessly, haphazardly, or stupidly, but they are there because the authors and illustrators and creators selected them to be there.
Remember that the characters only exist to serve the story and everything about them ideally should serve to move the story toward its conclusion.
This is especially pertinent in an animated–and especially a computer animated–show because everything has to be made specifically for the show and they are expensive to make(MLB costs ~$460,000 an episode). That’s why you get only one outfit for most of the characters, except when absolutely necessary.
Saving their production budget for other things is  why Theo Barbot has all of the odd jobs in Paris, there seems to be only one cop, Sabrina’s dad, and Alec and Nadja are the only people on TV. If you take a look in Bubbler, the first episode aired in the US, you can see that the school, the bakery, the hotel, and the Agreste Manor are all within one block of each other.
Tumblr media

What this production cost means for analyzing a character (or anything else) is that everything we see in a visual medium is important. Everything about a character has been picked for some reason. How they look, how they move–even how they stand says something about who they are as a person, who they are in their relationships, and who they are as an element of the story.
I did a fairly comprehensive essay on Chloé as a character so I want to walk through some of the things I looked at in order to write it.
Character at First Sight:
First impressions are vital. Because Marinette is picked to be our eyes as the OP starts (“In the daytime I’m Marinette,”) we know she is supposed to be our heroine and point of view.  Everything that happens after that is to be judged in relation to her. The first time we see Chloé in the show is a whole 5 seconds into the opening, when she and Sabrina walk past a face-planted Marinette. Immediately afterwards, Chloé runs back in to glomp Adrien and push Marinette out of the way.
From these few brief seconds we know that she is both rich and domineering, Sabrina is walking just behind her with a huge designer purse and bookbag, obviously in a subservient role. Chloé laughs at Marinette, which establishes her as an antagonist to the Heroine. Chloé pushing Marinette out of fram when she comes back shows that she exists in part to block our Heroine from Adrien, our Hero, whose expression shows he really doesn’t appreciate the attention.
Not even three seconds of screen time and we already know who Chloé is in relation to three people: Marinette, Adrien, and Sabrina.
How much time a character gets in the beginning of a story also sets up how much brainspace  we allocate them and our expectation of their importance. This is one reason I prefer Bubbler as the “first episode’’ (US viewing order) over Stormy Weather (South Korean/International Viewing order). Stormy Weather spends the first few minutes on Aurore, Mirielle, and Alex before getting to  Mari, Tikki, Manon, Alya, and Adrien. Bubbler in the same first minute sets up Marinette, her parents, Adrien, Alya, Chloé, and Nino and all their relationships.
By choosing your descriptions carefully you can get the reader to think of other things without directly mentioning them. Ladybug’s costume, mode of travel and name all callback to Spiderman (she even does the upside down hang in Dark Cupid), and even though the iconic phrase “with great power comes great responsibility,” is never stated its influence is felt in the persistent characterization of Ladybug as ‘all business’ in fic, even though she is more playful in canon. Master Fu is modeled after classic inscrutable mentor Mr. Miyagi from the original Karate Kid movies, it gives him an air of perhaps more wisdom and knowledge than he actually possesses.
Come on Let’s Vogue: How the Look of a Character Informs Us
Now let’s look at what we get from the elements selected for Chloe’s character design. Slender, pale, almost-white blonde hair, sunglasses on the top of her head, lots of blue eyeshadow, yellow jacket over a black and white striped shirt, white capris and black and white flats. All of this says she is the top of the social heap at her school. Combined with her glomping and trying to kiss Adrien and we can guess she is–or at least wants to be seen as–romantically “experienced”. Yellow is a happy color, it’s what makes a printed picture look bright. Often, though not always, it is associated with success and general goodness (i.e. a heart of gold) so she is initially portrayed as a person who doesn’t have any cares. White jeans and shoes point to both her status as someone who doesn’t have to work and a certain level of naivete.
But she also has this very gothy studded belt around her hips. It is very obviously not holding up her pants. This hints at the darker emotions and experiences at her core. The black and white stripes of her undershirt hint at the way she is held prisoner by her past.
Because we have been set up to see Chloé as the spoiled, rich bitch with everything she could want, when the facade cracks and we see just how awful her mother is it hits all the harder for us. Chloé’s invulnerable image is destroyed.
“What’s in a Name?”: Tagging as Character creation
Names are also a good starting place for getting into a character.
Bourgeois comes layered with the connotations of wealth, but not too much, and shallow conformity. Chloé is derived from the Greek Khlóe, or ‘young green shoot’ (of a plant), which can also be interpreted as meaning 'blooming.’ Khlóe is an epithet, or nickname, for Demeter in her aspect of the Lady of Summer. We know the writers know and are thinking of these meanings because of these lines in Sandboy.
Nightmare Adrien: Marinette, for your birthday, I’m going to buy you flowers—
Nightmare Adrien: —hortensias, roses and Chloés. (Marinette shrieks)
Not only does her name sound like that of a Homecoming Queen/Cheerleader/trust fund baby, but it also indicates she is immature but with potential to become something more.
Queen Bee is also laden with meaning as it is a term used to describe girls in their teens who are at the top of their social pecking order (see Queen Bees & WannaBes). It perfectly describes bothe how Chloé acts but also how she perceives herself.
The Things You Do to Me: Character Action
Characters in a story are what they do and more importantly why they do what they do. If Marinette becomes Ladybug for the first time because someone needs saving (first Ivan, then Alya), and Adrien becomes Chat Noir in order to escape the gilded cage that is his house, Chloé dons the Bee miraculous in a desperate (and unsuccessful) bid to catch her mother’s attention.
Attention seeking is part of every subsequent time that her hero persona appears in the story. Consider the implications of the fact that the signal on her roof is a Bee signal, not a Ladybug signal. The gestursal tic she has of always examining her nails, often with the other arm folded over her chest, is a visual shorthand for both her self-absorption and that her unpleasant personality is a defence mechanism.
Dialogue clues are also important, especially things that come up more than once. Chloé’s persistent lack of remembrance of the Concierge’s name (Jean-whatever) shows her to be dismissive of the people she believes to be “beneath her” which becomes horribly ironic when we find out her mother doesn’t seem to remember her name. That Marinette is always  Dunain-Cheng, emphasizing her parents status as tradesman and that Marinette is not pure French operates as a persistent put down.
Chloé is a Hero with an F in Good, primed by the writers for the Face–Heel Turn which happens in Miracle Queen. They telegraph this event by the choice to echo her “once a monster always a monster,” line from Stoneheart, in the S3 midseason Stormy Weather 2. There she mocks Aurore with “once a villain always a villain.” Highly ironic given the number of times Chloé has been akumatized and prompted it in others. Her bad heroing serves to show that actions and motives are not always aligned and to highlight the selflessness of the other heroes.
A great example of showing character through dialogue is Nino’s conversation with Gabriel in Bubbler. Nino was given a very distinctive, persistent, and casual speech pattern (“dude” in English), It’s so distinctive that Alya immediately recognizes that he is Carapace. The fact that he makes an effort to suppress it when he is trying to persuade Gabriel to let Adrien have a birthday party shows how much he cares about giving Adrien this gift. It’s part of what establishes him in our minds as such a great friend for Adrien (King of Bros!). Giving characters individualized vocabularies and speech patterns is one of the best ways to help distinguish them in both your, and the reader’s mind.
All Together Now!
As you read and experience more stories, you will recognize more and more common elements across the characters, places, events and ideas that make up the stories you read. As you recognize these building blocks, and how they can be combined and manipulated, they will help you understand better why certain characters do what they do in the story. You can then deliberately select them as you create your own stories to highlight desired themes, set up conflicts or call cultural resonances to your readers’ minds.  Remember what you write is a conversation between you, your reader, and the world around you. The more of the world you can bring into your writing the deeper it will impact your readers.

Will you catch me if I fall for you?
Elu Marvel AU
mostly written for @anxetyt1me and everyone else that are going to enjoy this
Summary:
Eliott is an ambitious archer boy who decides to join the Avengers when an opportunity crosses his way. Little does he know that his heart is going to be captured by one of the twins HYDRA experimented on. Lucas and his twin sister Manon just survived the attack of Ultron in Sokovia, but they are already training to become Avengers. The boy is a cheeky bastard who likes playing games. This time his target is Eliott and he can always get what he wants.
Enjoy *finger guns*
Eliott knew the compound will be huge, he saw it on tv, but he was still in shock as he got out of his taxi. He paid for the ride, it wasn’t cheap, but he was willing to sacrifice all he had just to get here. He grabbed the strap of the quiver attached to his torso, feeling the weight of the steel arrows and his bow pulling him down. It felt like his legs were turned into concrete, heavy and immovable. Every step was like an eternity, his palms started sweating as he made his way inside the gigantic front yard towards the Avengers building. There was a chopper on his right, just waiting on the parking spot, ready to fly away at anytime. He knew the people who lived inside wouldn’t use it, they had flying supersuits, special wings, superpowers and quinjets. They liked to make a fancy entrance, especially Tony Stark. Not like any of this mattered in this exact moment.
He swallowed the lump in his throat, continuing his road towards the front of the building. Feet still heavy, heart thumping, threatening to burst out of his chest. Now that would be a good introduction.
As he got closer, he had to squint his eyes, protecting it from the piercing sunlight that was reflecting from the gigantic windows. The weather was nice, not too hot, soft clouds swimming through the endless, blue pool above. He stopped, looking at his outfit. Black leather, tight and well fitting, belts snaking around his waist, his thighs, keeping his throwing knives - silver ones with handles carved out of bones - safe. Boots perfectly melted on his feet, thick sole, strengthened with steel. Hands covered in leather gloves that let his fingers free, except the index and middle finger on his right one. Designed especially for professional archers like him.
He got kicked out of his thoughts rather literally when a blue flash appeared out of nowhere. During his years of hard practice and training, it was clear that his senses were extraordinary, just like his reflexes, but he still had problems focusing his attention. That’s what made this situation possible where he was laying on the ground, the handle of his bow hardly pressed to his back as a feet on his chest placed pressure on him. Gasping for air he tried to open his eyes, which wasn’t so easy considering the sun was shining right at his face, but then a shadowy silhouette leaned over him. His eyelids fluttered open, trying to take in his surroundings and for a second Eliott was sure it would be less blinding to stare at the sun.
The boy was gorgeous. Fluffy brown hair surrounding a beautiful, smooth face with perfectly curved nose, pink lips and those damn blue eyes. Eliott wasn’t a poetic boy, but he could write long essays about the beauty of just those irises alone. He knew he was staring, mouth agape, not able to form the words, but it seemed like the boy had a clue who he was. With a slight movement he tilted his head to the side, cocking an eyebrow. The smirk that appeared on his face was probably the most beautiful thing Eliott had ever seen, hands down.
“You are the boy Clint is waiting for?” He spoke up and fuck, his voice was soft and smooth like warm honey, having a slight french accent, which just made him 1000 times more attractive. His foot was still pressing the archer boy down, not like he had any problems with it. He could put a leash around his neck, there wouldn’t be a complaint coming from his side.
After long minutes of just staring into each other’s eyes, Eliott realized that there was a question he needed to answer. The boy above him didn’t seemed to be annoyed, on the contrary there was a playful spark in those ocean blue eyes. Trying to take a deep breath wasn’t a good idea considering he was pinned to the ground, but he did anyways, just to help himself find some confidence to speak with this angel.
“Yes…” he muttered, voice sounding rather raspy. “My name is Eliott.” He managed to say it, but he kept finding himself at a loss of words under the gaze of the person above him.
“Welcome to the Avengers compound, pretty boy.” He said, leaning down even more and with that placing more pressure on Eliott’s already hurting chest. “You are going to have fun.” He added with a cheeky smile on his pretty face. Eliott knew he would already do anything for this boy without a single question just to see him smile again. He was pretty much fucked.
“Lucas, what are you doing?” The high pitched voice came from where the entrance of the gigantic building was. Eliott could see the outlines of a girl, slim body, wearing black skirt, a grey shirt with a scarlet red jacket. Her curly hair was like a brown waterfall, surrounding a pretty face. Eliott could notice the similarities between her and the boy, Lucas’ features, not mentioning the soft French accent of both.
“Nothing.” He replied and within a blink of an eye the pressure was gone from Eliott’s chest.
He could only see the blue flash as the angelic boy returned to his sister. Now he knew who they were, the Lallemant Twins, Lucas and Manon. Orphans that were used by the psychopath HYDRA scientists, experimenting and torturing them, making them have special powers to then use them as weapons against their enemies. But they got out, sided with the Avengers and helped them defeat the army of Ultron, the crazy robot that tried to drop the city of Sokovia on the Earth to destroy humanity with it. Of course Eliott didn’t know the details, but he had seen a lot of videos, read articles and interviews with people who were there during the battle. Lots of the citizens died or got hurt, it was a hard price to pay for saving everyone else. That’s what it means being an Avenger, Eliott knew it.
He slowly got up from the ground, being sure that his back has a bow handle shaped hole now. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t take his eyes off the boy, who was now having a quiet conversation with his twin sister. He just realized what Lucas was wearing and he just didn’t know how to process that sight. The pants were fine, loose ones, black colored with two white stripes on the sides of his thighs, but the top… He was wearing a well fitting, long sleeved shirt, a combination of dark blue and grey mixing on it with lighting bolt shaped white stripes just on the place where his stomach area started. And it was tight, like really tight.
Without realizing that he started walking forward, he suddenly found himself being close enough to catch some of their talk. It turned out to be difficult to focus on the actual words being said while seeing and hearing Lucas speak. The boy was just so soft and beautiful, Eliott couldn’t believe he actually fought with an army of lethal robots alongside big names like Clint Barton, Thor or Captain America. It just seemed impossible for this soft looking boy to hurt even a fly.
“-cking care what he said, I’m going to handle this one.” Lucas sounded just a little bit frustrated as he was talking to his sister. Manon looked at Eliott over her brother’s shoulder and then let out a frustrated sigh.
“Fine, but I am not going to save your ass from Clint again.” She said and with a smooth movement she spun around on her heels, disappearing behind the glass door.
Eliott just stood there dumbfounded, as the other turned to him, wide smirk plastered to his face. Realization hit like a truck, only noticing now how small the boy in front of him actually was. He could hug him from behind, resting his chin on the top of his head easily. And damn if that didn’t make him want this brunette even more.
“So, why are you here actually?” Lucas asked, trying to sound nonchalant with little success. He opened the door for the tall one who nodded as thanks, walking inside.
~°~
Eliott was glad when they arrived to the training room where Clint Barton waited for them. Their walk was really awkward, at least to him, Lucas seemed to enjoy circling around him, asking the most random things. ‘How old are you?’ ‘Where are you from?’  ‘Are those knives on you thighs?’ ‘Wanna try throwing one at me?’ ‘Is this your natural hair color?’ ‘Can I touch your hair?’ ‘You wanna touch my hair?’ Of course he could barely stutter out a few words, completely embarrassing himself. This was the first time he felt so nervous around someone that he lost his voice and wasn’t able to speak. Usually he had too much confidence, being aware of his looks and skills, but this very short and also very fast boy seemed to make him turn into a shy, stuttering mess.
As he stepped into the huge, empty room made out of steel and concrete. Half of the floor was covered in what looked like auburn linoleum, while the other half had epdm rubber flooring. In the middle stood the guy himself. The person Eliott looked up for ever since he heard the rumors about him. Clint Barton aka Hawkeye, the best archer in the whole world. Hair perfectly styled, oil green shirt loosely hanging on his well trained body, tight jeans wrapped around his legs, tucked into black boots. Suddenly his nervousness got doubled, hands getting sweaty. Lucas stepped forward, putting his hands on his waist. The man squinted his eyes at him before his face broke into a wide smile.
“There you are, you little bastard. I was looking for you.” Cint said, walking to the boy and patting him on the shoulder. “I see you found my visitor.” his eyes wandered towards the tall boy, who had to swallow, wiping off the sweat from his palms.
“Yeah, he’s fun, but very quiet.” Lucas responded, now turning around, another pair of eyes landing gazes on Eliott.
“I… My name is Eliott.” he managed to force out the words. This would be much more easier, if that angelic brunette wouldn’t be there with them in the room.
“Yeah, I know.” Clint said, looking at the boy next to him now. “Leave us alone, Lucas. I think you have training with Nat and Manon today.” he said cocking an eyebrow, sounding like a father who’s talking to his rather stubborn son. It was endearing to see this kind of relationship that Eliott could never had in his life.
His father left him and his mother when he was just a baby, not even bothering to pay child support or visiting his son. He grew up in bad circumstances, struggling with money, which lead his mother to borrow cash from the most shady people. That’s why she ended up with a bullet in her head, that’s why Eliott got captured when he was 12, being tortured and trained to be their deadly assassin. To their bad luck, they couldn’t erase all the memories he shared with the mother they killed, so he waited. When the perfect opportunity came, he killed them all and escaped. Since then he was roaming the countries, leaving Paris and all its filth behind. Until he found out that the Avengers are looking for rookies, training them to become fighters. So he called the number, talked to a few people and now he was here. After long years of suffering, loneliness and fear, he found the place where he can get a reason to live.
He got dragged out of his spiraling thoughts when a blue flash, probably Lucas passed by him, leaving with the feeling of soft fingers brushing through his hair. It was so sudden and unexpected that he almost lost his balance, barely saving himself of landing on his back yet again. That boy really liked to play with him, using his speed to get maximum advantage.
“I’m sorry about the kid.” Spoke Clint now, walking closer to Eliott, who quickly shook his head as weak try to get rid of the clinging feeling of the brunette’s touch. “I guess he’s excited. He is not allowed to leave the compound, so he doesn’t really have the chance to meet new people.” He explained with a soft smile on his face.
“How old is he?” Eliott decided to ask, because he was genuinely curious about the boy. It felt like something inside him was pulling him towards Lucas, like they were connected.
“He’s 17, too young if you ask me.”
“Life doesn’t care how old you are, it just throws shit at your face and expects you to handle it.” Eliott replied, looking at his personal hero, who seemed to be impressed by his words.
“I can’t wait for you to meet Nat, I think she would like you.” He said smirking.
~°~
A whole week passed, filled with long hours of training with either Clint or Natasha. They were really good, like real professionals, which made Eliott realize that his skills weren’t much above average compared to them. But this just kept fueling his determination to become stronger, faster, never missing a shot.
Sometimes as he met Lucas on the hallways or in the kitchen, but they didn’t have much time to talk both of them occupied with their own training. It still couldn’t make the archer boy forget about that soft touch or ignore the way sometimes the other was looking at him. Those ocean blue eyes haunted his dreams, chasing away the usual nightmares he had ever since he slaughtered his torturers. He knew they were bad people, that they deserved to die, if not for their other crimes, then just for killing his innocent mother. And still flashes of spilling blood, echoes of death screams and the sight of lifeless bodies were the only thing he could hear and see once he closed his eyes. Up until he met this gorgeous boy.
It was Tuesday, his usual training were canceled due to a mission both Natasha and Clint had to participate in. Something happened that involved a guy named Brock Rumlow, so Captain Rogers decided to follow the leads. Eliott only had the chance to see the actual big names from afar considering both Tony Stark and Captain America were busy people. He once had a chance to chat with Sam Wilson, he’s a sympathetic dude with great humor, Eliott liked him a lot. Then there was Manon, the quiet one out of the twins. She’s spending most of her time with either Vision, the android with crazy powers or Natasha, trying to learn how to use her abilities in battle.
Since there wasn’t much thing for him to do without training, he decided to spend his time outside by the river. He sat on the side of the wooden platform, back resting to one of the pillars that held the roof above his head. He looked at the sketchbook placed on his lap, opened on two blank pages, pen laying on his right ear. It was a long time ago since he had time to actually draw something, but he knew exactly what - or more like who - he wanted to draw. The person that got stuck in his mind ever since they met on the driveway of the compound. Someone with eyes so blue that the sky feels jealous, the ocean wants to hide by the sight of them.
He let out a deep sigh, dragging his eyes away from the sketchbook to the calm water, trying to enjoy the quiet. There wasn’t any noise coming from inside the building like always, no one was arguing with F.R.I.D.A.Y. or training with explosives. There wasn’t a thing that could ruin this perfect moment. At least he thought so, until a certain fast boy appeared out of nowhere, creating a wind that almost flew Eliott’s sketchbook out of his lap into the river. Thankfully he had enough consciousness to catch it in time, saving it from getting soaked. He shot an angry look at the short boy, who was standing in front of him now, innocent smile plastered to his face. He was wearing sports grey sweatpants and a white shirt with the word ‘Désir’ written on it. Eliott hated the fact how he looked fucking gorgeous in those clothes too.
“How’s it going?” he asked, running his fingers through the already disheveled hair. Eliott rolled his eyes, clutching his sketchbook to his chest to protect it from the chaos that this brunette was.
“I was doing fine just a second ago.” Eliott replied. Just because he had a crush on this demonic angel, it didn’t mean he can’t be annoyed with his behavior. During the time he had spent here, it became crystal clear that Lucas lived on annoying the hell out of everyone. Which wasn’t that hard considering his abilities.
“Wow, someone’s grumpy.” he smirked and crouched down just so their eyes could be on the same level. “I didn’t know you are drawing.” he said, nodding his head towards the sketchbook.
“Only when I have time.” He said, his sudden anger starting to fade away, giving more space to the fucking nervousness again. This boy was affecting him in ways no one ever did before, which was a tad bit scary. Like the way he smiled made his heart beat crazy fast. “What do you want anyways?” he managed to ask.
“Well, since we both have some free time, I thought we could hang out.” he shrugged and sat down now too, pulling up his knees to his chest, resting his arms on it. Eliott tried not to focus on the veins that were clearly visible on his hands and forearms like this.
“I would prefer to be alone.” He mumbled and that was the biggest lie in the history, because he wanted Lucas to stay, even if they don’t talk.
“Yeah, I don’t care. I am going to stay.” He said with a wide smirk, resting his chin on his arms now, long eyelashes fluttering at him. Eliott was afraid that his heart is going to burst out of his chest. “So… you are an archer boy and an artist? What other talents you have?” He asked curiously, wiggling his perfectly curving eyebrows. The tall one sighed and dragged his eyes away from the boy, just to make talking easier.
“That’s all basically. I am good at shooting and throwing stuff. I rarely miss my target.” His eyes followed a piece of grass floating down the river. This place was so calming and peaceful. It was a long time ago since he got a chance to appreciate nature and its beauty in any kind of way. He forgot how nice the summer breeze can feel on a heated day. How beautiful water looks when it’s mirroring the cloudless, bright blue sky. Everything in this world seemed to be so nice, innocent and sweet in this very moment, almost letting him forget about all the horrors he had seen in his life. All the things he had done. People he killed, tortured and hurt. These just faded away in the bright sunlight, the soft wind taking them far away, leaving nothing but serenity behind.
“What about the drawing?” Lucas voice dragged him out of his thoughts so suddenly he got startled, letting his sketchbook go that was falling towards the water. Everything happened so fast, but within a blink of an eye, his sketchbook as home from his sight. He turned his head towards the boy in front of him, the black notebook in his hands. “That was close.”
“Can you give me back?” He blurted out instead of saying thank you, which was not very polite, but he couldn’t care less. That sketchbook was too important for him.
“What will I get if I give you back?” Lucas asked, playful smile appearing on his face as he got up and took a few steps back, keeping the notebook behind himself. Eliott squinted his eyes at the boy.
“Nothing, that’s mine!”
“But I saved it for you, therefore I deserve a reward, right?” He kept grinning as the archer boy got up, trying to get his sketchbook back, but he started just swaying around quickly and flawlessly.
“No, it’s not how it works. Give it back, Lucas!”
“Come and get it, Robin Hood!” He smirked, sticking out his tongue, slowly backing towards the building. Eliott walked forward with a determined look on his face, but deep inside he kinda enjoyed this little play. Lucas was adorable as he used his speed to get an advantage over him every time he tried to get back the little book.
“You are so annoying! Give it back!”
“I want a reward!”
“What reward?” Eliott sighed, stopping now, placing his hands on his waist. The other one also staying put, looking at him mischievously.
“Stay there and close your eyes.” he replied, bouncing on his feet excitedly. It was just so fucking adorable that Eliott couldn’t resist him, so he just let out a defeated sigh, closing his eyes slowly. He could feel the wind brushing through his hair, his nose filling with a scent he couldn’t recognize at first. It was like the smell of air right after the storm. Then before he could react, soft lips touched his own ever so slightly and carefully like being afraid of rejection. He opened his eyes just a little, taking in the sight of Lucas being so damn close, his features seemed even more beautiful, eyelashes casting long shadows on his pink cheeks. Hair falling to his face, making him look like the young, innocent boy he actually was. And fuck if Eliott didn’t fell for him in that exact moment.
His hands moved on their own, grabbing the brunette’s waist, pulling him so close their bodies were almost pressed at each other and he captured those cherry lips with his own. He could feel the boy gasping into the kiss, the notebook falling out of his hands, landing on the wooden floor with a soft thump. Soft hands were snaking their way up on Eliott’s back, grasping into the black shirt he was wearing. Their kiss started off slow, searching, trying to see how far they can go with the other. In the next moment Eliott found himself pressed to a wooden pillar, the rough material digging into his skin, while a soft body was grinding on his front side. That was probably the best thing he had ever felt. With one hand he kept holding the boy’s waist, while the other was sliding down to grab his thigh, pulling him even closer.
After long minutes of kissing and trying to eat up the other’s face, Eliott pulled back, examining the boy, his flushed cheeks, swollen lips and his ocean eyes that were filled with desire. At least his shirt was accurate, which made the older one smirk. Lucas smirked back at him, fingers gripping into Eliott’s messy locks, pulling him down for an open mouthed kiss this time. Tongues swirling around each other. Not even the soft summer breeze could cool down their bodies now that they were burning in passion.
Their heated up making out session was disturbed by the sound of the Avengers quinjet landing not too far from them. The boys broke apart, looking into each other’s eyes, smiling like idiots. Before Eliott could say a word, Lucas grabbed his hand, squeezing it slightly and started to walk towards the building with him.
“Let’s go and welcome the others.” he said on a cheerful tone, trying to fix his mess of a hair with his free hand. Eliott let out a heartfelt laugh and placed a soft kiss on the top of his head.
“Sure thing, Sonic.” he muttered into his hair to which he got a disapproving look from the boy.
“Fuck off.”
“Nah, you convinced me to stay. Now you gotta deal with my shit.” his smile didn’t seem to disappear anytime soon and damn if that wasn’t feeling good. Lucas gasped, placing his hand over his heart, faked shock plastered to his face.
“Oh, mon dieu! What have I done to myself?” voice dripping from sarcasm, while he was still holding Eliott’s hand. The tall boy laughed, pulling him closer and disentangling their fingers just so he could throw his arm around Lucas’ shoulder, realizing how well he fits there.
“Just shut up.”
“Make me!” Lucas retorted, stopping in their tracks, turning his head to the side. That expectant look on his face was so alluring and sweet, Eliott couldn’t resist. Why would he resist? Therefore he closed the short distance between them, locking their lips together in a soft, slow kiss.
When the weight disappeared from under him alongside with the soft mouth that was pressed to his just a second ago, he almost lost his balance, landing on the floor. He heard laughing from afar, turning his head towards the sound. Lucas was standing in the doorway, leaning to the frame, swinging Eliott’s sketchbook in his hands victoriously.
“Come on, Robin Hood! We have to go.” he said with his cheeky smile that made the tall boy’s heart beating faster. He shook his head with a soft laugh, jogging towards the building where the other was waiting for him.
Now in this very moment Eliott felt like his life had a reason, that all those things happened to him in the past weren’t just to fuck him over, but to lead him towards this moment. He was meant to be here, meeting Lucas, falling for him. It sounded cheesy, so he would probably never admit it out loud, but in this playful boy he found his reason to keep going. And so he will, because he is not gonna let anyone take this away from him. Not this time.

Make sure to leave a comment or your opinion on this ficlet! I am super nervous, cause I can’t decide if this is a good one or not, but I really wanted to publish it already.

SW2 is ridiculous! How would SW2 MC have been? I mean, in what developments of characters would your version of the episode have focused? (SINCE I WAS WITH YOU IF THERE WOULD BE A DEVELOPMENT TO SHOW)
I’d probably just roll with my original idea for it. When I first heard of the title “Stormy Weather 2″, my reaction was “Yes! One of my favorite akuma are coming back and this is the PERFECT opportunity for continuity!”
Believe it or not, my idea for the episode was also to call back to previous episodes. Just… not in the way they did it.
My idea for “Stormy Weather 2″ is that Marinette is at one of Adrien’s photoshoots since he invited her all the way back in “Troublemaker.” She reminisces on the first occasion in “Stormy Weather,” where she had to sneak into the park with Alya+Manon to see it and Adrien hardly even knew her back then. She takes joy in how she’s friends with Adrien now and that he invited her.
Meanwhile, Aurore is returning to the weather studio, having been called in by the crew. She’s a little salty about “Stormy Weather” but tries to be polite even though Mirelle is there.
Though actually, it turns out that Mirelle isn’t working out as the weather girl and decided to step down. She’s too shy, stammers, and can’t get the news out fast enough.
Aurore doesn’t like being second place, but accepts, even having an apologetic conversation with Mirelle after Mirelle sheepishly apologizes for "taking the place Aurore deserves."
However, while she’s getting ready for her first appearance as the new weather girl, she hears Alec in the hallway, talking on his phone (presumably to Nadja).
He’s making fun of Aurore. He talks about her “tantrum” over her loss. He talks about how she was “so childish” that she got taken over by an akuma. He talks about how he made fun of her when she lost (not that he feels bad for it) and that she never even made Alec a main target of hers.
Aurore tightens her grip on her umbrella, but tries to keep herself under control; this negative emotion feels uncomfortably familiar.
Then he drops the bombshell: the competition was rigged. The crew had believed Mirelle to be “cuter” and more easily manipulated to do whatever the crew wanted, so they messed with the voting so Mirelle would win.
Idly, a black and purple butterfly flutters onto Aurore’s umbrella and disappears.
Alec laughs, not at all ashamed about making fun of a teenage girl’s akumatization. He’s completely unaware that the girl he’s talking about even heard him. Though, would he really have cared about keeping those thoughts to themselves anyway?
Suddenly, the doors near Alec fly open due to a gust of wind. He’s knocked back by the force, his phone sliding along the floor as if even it wanted to be away from him.
Alec reaches for the phone at first, then stiffens as he realizes that his focus should definitely be directed elsewhere.
Alec glances back to the open doors–the source of the wind–and his blood runs cold.
Stormy Weather stands there, looking tall and intimidating from his place on the floor. She walks up to him slowly, each click of her heels causing a spark of electricity to be spread along the floor.
Alec is too terrified to noticed that her outfit is now sporting blues and yellows to go with her purple and white color scheme. Everyone in the room that Aurore had been in are already fleeing down the halls, leaving Alec to his fate.
Stormy Weather holds her umbrella out to the side, letting the umbrella float a few inches above her palm as it defies gravity.
She feigns sympathy. “Sad that I missed you last time, Cataldi?” she asks with a hint of innocence and a lot of contempt.
He tries to save himself. “A-ah, Aurore–”
She glares.
He immediately corrects, “S-stormy Weather! I can explain–I didn’t mean–”
“No, no, you were right,” Stormy Weather drawls, still with the innocence in her voice.
The umbrella falls back into her hand. She pauses, then glares, the innocence vanishing. “I made a mistake last time in leaving you be.”
She twirls the umbrella, then aims the tip at Alec. He flinches, trying to shield himself.
A few seconds pass. Nothing happens. Cautiously, he opens one eye, still seeing the umbrella pointed at him.
The umbrella lowers. Alec looks up, confused. Is he safe now? Is she sparing him?
Stormy Weather says nothing. Instead, she raises a hand. Her fingers twitch. The air starts to feel cold. Her arm flashes, then glows with the light of her umbrella, her hand charged with an icy energy.
She didn’t even need her umbrella to use her powers anymore, her umbrella considered to be too special to waste on a lowlife like him.
Everyone else had already fled, leaving Alec to his fate.
The classic Stormy Weather smug slowly overtakes her face. She aims her palm at Alec.
“We all make mistakes,” she said, her smug mixed with a malice. “Now I’m going to fix mine.”
She fires.
Ladybug and Chat have to be very creative when fighting the updated Stormy Weather. Stealing her umbrella is no longer enough because Stormy Weather can still use her powers without it. The umbrella has amplified powers compared to her body and is what she uses to make the weather go bad, but she doesn’t need it. The umbrella also needs to be broken to stop her abilities; a hard task given that attempts usually end with a lightning bolt to the face.
After managing to stop her, Ladybug checks on Aurore, who now laments the fact that “Alec was right” in a way since she let negative emotions take control and became Stormy Weather again.
Ladybug disagrees, assuring Aurore that negative emotions are natural and that the importance is in moving past them.
She also winks, noting that Alec probably won’t bother her again after today. Aurore smiles.
And things are just as Ladybug said. Alec still makes insensitive comments at everyone, but one look from Aurore shuts him up, as if he’s afraid she’s going to turn into Stormy Weather again. The crew loves having her around for that alone, and Aurore’s revamped confidence and smile as she talks about the weather make her extremely popular with the TV audience.
Back with Marinette and Adrien, they’re back in the park for Adrien’s photoshoot (that needed to be finished after it was interrupted by Stormy Weather’s… well, weather) and Vincent is eagerly taking pictures of Adrien.
However, Vincent’s still not feeling it. He looks around, as if for inspiration, then eyes Marinette. He rushes towards her, talking excitedly about how he needs a girl like her.
Marinette is confused (and feels a sense of deja vu), but Vincent insists, especially since Adrien invited her. Vincent pulls Marinette over to the fountain and forces her to sit next to Adrien, then readies his camera.
He encourages them to move closer together, saying that he wants to see some energy and chemistry. Adrien apologizes, but Marinette shyly insists that it’s fine.
Vincent takes a few snapshots and thinks they’re good, but he isn’t completely satisfied. Thinking quickly, he instructs Marinette to kiss Adrien’s cheek.
Marinette blushes pink, asking if that’s necessary, while Vincent assures her that he knows best. Adrien shrugs, clearly not minding, and besides, didn’t Marinette kiss his cheek before?
Marinette nods sheepishly, having to remind herself that this kiss isn’t supposed to mean anything and also that Adrien still believes that the kiss in “Mayura” must’ve been a friendly one. She steels herself up, then kisses his cheek, Vincent taking an enthusiastic snapshot.
As if he’s on a roll (as Marinette is internally squealing), Vincent then tells Adrien to kiss her cheek in return to build their chemistry and get a good shot. Adrien is surprised by the request, but shrugs; after all, these kisses are strictly friendly and professional, aren’t they?
Marinette expects him to ask her if a cheek kiss is okay, meaning that she’s wholly unprepared as Adrien leans down and kisses her cheek without hesitation. Vincent excitedly takes pictures while Marinette stiffens and blushes red.
The end card is Marinette staring dreamily at the photo of Adrien kissing her cheek, as well as Aurore being successful as the new weather girl.

Trying to read a lot of post right now and trying to be open minded (which is, I'm ashamed of it, not my forte) because I'm confused about a lot of things and why we (Tumblr) didn't like this season. Just a heads-up before you read the rest : this is not sarcasm, my writing is not the best and I'm sorry about it, I'm not trying to say that you should love this season or feel comfortable with it, I just wish to share how I feel about it all and wish to know why we do not agree on others things. I also mostly write because it helps me sort out my thoughts and see things more clearly. I wish not to offend anyone and please let me know if I did.
There are some things I really didn't like :
- The thing I wish happened (like apparently everyone else) was the girls apologising. Because right now it feels like they never did any wrong when ......they did. And that's bad, because the only one that is pointed out as the bad person by the show is Ingrid. When she's not the only one who behaved badly. But that's what the problem is. The show doesn't even show us that the girls not supporting Imane is a Bad thing. None of them said anything when Ingrid was saying obvious bullshit or when Daphné is saying her usual shit. It's always Imane doing it. And no one going her way either. The only time someone other than Imane was being angry at a racist comment was Manon back in season 1 when she stormed out of the room after Daphné was being (once again) racist af and she told her that she didn't understood how  she could say so much bullshit. But that's all. So yeah I wish they would have made the white girls apologize for not being here for Imane. Ever. The fact that we got that amazing clip of Manon and Imane talking about how Imane never feels like she belongs and that we never ever got a following consequence of that discussion is ridiculous.
- Manon and Charles going back together. For obvious reasons. Like ? Urgh. No.
- Jamila talking back to Imane on pure coïncidence like she never abandoned her when Imane entered highschool with no explanation other than "sorry I don't think that we should talk anymore" ????? What ??????? And now they're BFF ????? When Jamila never apologized either ????
- That's a really small complaint that is nothing near as terrible as the other things I pointed out but there is a lot of small time mistakes. Some clips were clearly supposed to be aired on other days than the days we got them.
- Another small complaint but one of the things I liked the most about Sana's season was seeing her praying and the whole process that went with it. I feel a little robbed here. Those were moments that felt utterly beautiful and mesmerising to me when I first watched Sana's season.
But there is a lot of things I liked and I think are important to show on a french TV show mainly directed for a young audience :
- They adresses a LOT the day to day racism a black Muslim woman can get, they voiced the fact that it was racism a lot too and that Imane had all the rights to be angry at that kind of comments. They made it real too : Imane had to stop dancing because the teacher didn't want her to wear her hijab in the lesson. That's an actual debate in everyday life in france : we're living in an "secular country" (lol not really but that's what politicians like to say whenever they want to be islamophobic. Funny how our joke of a president actually said we had to reconnect with our catholic roots. Lol. Secular country indeed. ANYWAY) and that's why Imane doesn't wear hijab at school, because “no one” should wear signs of religion in public school (but hey guess little crosses or Mary’s face for catholic folks around their necks or David’s star for jewish kids around their neck is not a sign of religion right ? Because I’ve seen them more than once in school) . Perhaps you know that not too long ago there was a polemic about a french store for sports equipment announced that they wanted to start selling sports hijab for hijabi women and well our country went NUTS and the company had to abandon that project because they were sent death threats and whatnot by racist people. And the show addressing that issue (that is french people being racist) is important. The show showing us that wearing the hijab is Imane's choice is important. Imane voicing that being a black women who is muslim in France is making her life difficult is important. And they showed us that many time. With ordinary racism. With Ingrid being afraid of black girls for no reason other that they're black. They've showed us a lot of hardship that comes with it : people being ignorant and racist, people being racist because they're racist, people judging and assuming things because they heard that thing somewhere but never checked the facts. And the fact that Imane said on many occasion 'this is racism' was important. They give us an explanation on why in the first seasons Imane seemed harsh and that being linked with the racism she has to face everyday was really nice. They made Imane tell that she was not feeling like she belonged anywhere.
- I know a lot of people hated this but I'm glad she apologized whenever she did a bad thing. This is showing her growing up and be a mature teenager. This is showing up that she knows when to apologize but she also knows when she doesn't have to. I'm glad that Imane messed up. I'm glad she had a lot of communication issue. I was sad with her, I was ashamed with her but in the end I think we could all understand why she was acting the way she did. You can make mistake, you can realise that you made a mistake and still apologize. For me the drama was necessary. There was drama in every season of Skam and that’s kind of the goal of the show, to show that you’re allowed to make mistakes. The thing that was not handled well was the outcome of the drama.
- The family interactions and clips were incredible. Her mom being the 'bad cop' and her dad being more of the laid down dad type was perfect. Put Idriss on this and have them talk about why they think they're making their parents disappointed in themselves, why it's difficult to live as a Muslim in France, how they can talk to each other and understand multiple points of view too. How it's ok to be angry to feel emotions but to take them out on people who just wish for you to be happy is not the way to do it.
-The Lucas's talk. Again this is going with my first point but the fact that they added Imane saying that she's not the one who should have to be patient with racist people because they're ignorant was nice.
- The first four episodes were incredible and I think we all agreed on that. It was just Imane day to day life + her falling in love and enjoying life.
- Three of my favourite clips of the show : The bus clip, the chair clip and the mom clip. The bus was such an important scene where Imane was also asking questions to herself + all the cinematography that went into a simple bus ride was so great. The chair clip showing four very different Muslim girls talking about Ramadan and rules and how they're hungry, and love and sex and random things was so nice. They all had they're own way of talking, one reminded me of Emma because she had the same kind of vocabulary and way of saying things, one was more uptight etc. They all wear their hijab in different way they all say on different chair it was so nice. The mom clip, well, seeing a parent apologizing is not something I'm used to on TV show. Well they do apologize when they did extreme horrible things like killing someone but they never apologize for simple things like Imane mom did. The music in general used in the show is really nice and since season 3 Skam France outdid themselves on the cinematography part of the show.
That's all the things I can think about for now so what's the conclusion of all that ? I don't really know. As you may have understood I'm a white girl, I'm a part of some 'minority' groups (what's the word when it's not really a minority but still a group that is being pointed out as 'bad' by media and a large group of people ? The more I write the more I'm losing my English) like I'm a Bi girl, I have depression and I'm fat but I'm aware that's nothing to compare with being a woman of color and being a muslim woman. So yes, I think there is a lot of things that I did not understandd in why people hated this season and I should just accept WoC European Muslim critics and not try to say 'you're wrong' so I hope I'm not doing that here. I just wish to share my likes and dislikes of the season. Sometimes I have to think about an issue for a whole week to just kind of understand something I didn't agreed on before, so I'll be patient . Perhaps in two weeks I will just see the whole season on a different way. Perhaps I'm being too kind on the compliments (The other day I read that you shouldn't praise someone because they're being against racism because racism shouldn't exist in the first place. I'm still debating on that subject but I'm wondering if that applies here).
The thing is I'm still glad that this season exist. Yes it's really not perfect and yes the whole 'the girls never apologized or stand by Imane' is awful. I'm glad in the sense that I wished I could have seen this on TV when I was myself in highschool. When I was as ignorant as Daphné (...yeah... That sucks....I don't really understand how I managed to have friends). Because seeing that show, seeing all of what Imane had to go through would really made me oppened my eyes. It would have been a slap to the face and a needed wake up call. But yes, I agree, it was far from enough. So I'm a little on both sides. But as the same time I’m saying that this is an important season to see as a white ignorant woman, but perhaps that’s the whole issue ? That Imane’s season shouldn’t be made for white woman like a POV on a WOC every day life but just a story for Imane to live herself ?

The Woes of Having Neighbors, Chapter 9
It was Sunday, and just like every Sunday, Elide spent the morning holed up in her apartment deep cleaning the place. Counters were wiped down with bleach; photo frames, lamps, the TV screen, and decorative glass was dusted; the wooden floors were vacuumed and swiffered; her shower tub was scrubbed down; and drains were unclogged.  The dark haired girl’s mother had a job, once upon a time, in the cleaning industry and she had passed all her learned skills down to her only daughter.  Her father, with his background in the marine corps, had instilled discipline and commitment into her from the day she learned to tell time.  Take those two factors and add in the fact that Elide herself was practically never home due to either work of her friends, and Sunday was the only day of the week her household chores could be completed.
Unfortunately, most other people also felt like Sunday was the day to complete chores, too.  Fortunately, Elide was naturally an early riser and could usually finish her external chores--grocery shopping and laundry--before eleven o’clock.  Usually.  This morning, however, was different.  Instead of waking up naturally at six o’clock--a time that made Asterin hiss--Elide was woken up at five-thirty--a time that made her hiss--by the sound of a hammer pounding relentlessly into a wall in the apartment adjacent to hers.
Elide had been expecting a new neighbor for several weeks now.  The unit next to hers had been vacant for over a month and the landlord had been desperately trying to find a new tenant.  It was a good apartment, similar to her own with a few minor differences such as the colors of the walls. Elide hadn’t understood why it had taken so long, and had been relieved--if only for the sake of her landlord--when she heard it’d finally been taken off the market.  So at five-thirty in the morning, with her pillow over her head, Elide also couldn’t understand why her new neighbor felt the need to move in at such an un-godly hour.
Still, the dark haired girl was an opportunist if there ever was one, and she didn’t let let something as inconsequential as an early wake up ruin her day, so with a deep, almost monstrous groan, Elide had rolled herself out of bed and began her day.
Now, several hours later, Elide regretted that decision with every fiber of her being. It was almost noon and she had almost nothing to show for it.  Her new neighbor, who continued producing sounds akin to a construction site, apparently had also decided that move in day was the best time to do the laundry.  Her apartment building only had one washer and dryer in the basement, and never before had Elide had to wait to do a load before.  It was ridiculous considering the time of day, but Elide grit her teeth and moved on with her morning routine.
Or, she would have, if she weren’t out of almost all her cleaning supplies.  And since the local grocery store down the street wouldn’t be open until ten--since it was Sunday--she had to wait.  She hated waiting.
Elide tried going back to sleep, but couldn’t manage it thanks to that damn hammering.  Seriously though, what could they be doing in there that needed that many nails?  She tried watching TV, but nothing good was on at six in the morning, and the news just repeated itself after the first half hour of information.  Thankfully she had some bills to pay, emails to respond to, a checkbook to balance, and was able to get a head start on a project for work.  Still, even when she’d gotten through all that, it was barely ten, and after a quick glance in the laundry room--her neighbor’s clothes were done, they just hadn’t claimed them yet--she headed out to the grocery store.
It was the first thing that went right for her.  Sunday was normally the busiest day for grocery stores, but didn’t tend to become busy until at least noon.  With her list in hand, Elide easily navigated the familiar aisles and within the hour had everything she needed to last a month.  Standing in line and double checking that’d she’d gotten everything on her list, a crash sounded behind her, making Elide’s eyes widen and her body to freeze up.
“I am so sorry!” A woman’s voice cried almost immediately after the crash.  Turning around to see what had happened, Elide sucked in a gasp.  From what Elide could tell a woman had crashed her cart into a man’s, causing him to fall against a tower of canned soup.  No one was hurt, and besides a few dented cans, there wasn’t any damage, but none of that was the reason for Elide’s gasp.  She gasped because the man was Lorcan.  Lorcan, who had been shoved back into the cans, didn’t look hurt, but he didn’t look happy, either.
The woman who crashed into him continued a string of apologies while Lorcan, with his long dark hair pulled back into a loose ponytail, stared her down like a stone wall.  His face was void of all emotion, and it scared the hell out of Elide.  She’d met him while he was pissed, which, safe to say, wasn’t the best emotion to display during a first impression, but at least it was an emotion.  This Lorcan, the one she shamelessly spied from across the grocery, was devoid of anything human. He looked so cold, so uncaring.  Elide tried to explain it away--maybe he just wasn’t a morning person--but instinct told her something different.  And since that innate instinct of hers had gotten her out of many a dire circumstance, she turned back around and stepped up to the register, pretending that she had never set eyes on Lorcan Salvaterre.
Elide quickly walked her groceries back home, limping slightly due to the stress the extra weight her bags added to her already precarious ankle, and after getting back into her apartment, quickly hobbled down to the laundry room.  Huffing out a hot burst of air out her nostrils at the sight of her neighbor’s wet apparel still in the washer, Elide’s hands curled into frustrated fists as she walked back up to her home.  It was moments like these that Elide wished she had an ounce of Manon’s assertion, or Aelin’s charm, or even Asterin’s ‘I don’t give a damn’ attitude.  Maybe if she had just one ounce of any of those characteristics, she’d have her laundry done by now.
Forcing herself to take a deep, calming breath, Elide pushed the thought of laundry aside.  Wishing and hoping wouldn’t change her situation, she decided.  She needed to look at what she had before her and what she could do here and now.  So, with a hoard of plastic bags before her, Elide began to unpack her groceries and put everything in its rightful place.  Once she finished that small task, she began cleaning her apartment. Cleaning was good--cathartic, even.  It allowed Elide’s mind to empty and her body to go on autopilot.  She was able to unload and relax, and by the end of it, her mind and body usually felt as clean and uncluttered as her apartment.
Today was a bit harder, thanks to the surprise appearance of Lorcan at the grocery store.  What he’d been doing there in the first place, Elide had half a mind to wonder.  It’d been over a month since Aelin’s party and Rowan’s dark haired friend hadn’t been brought up since that night at the bar.  But remembering that night at the bar--Rowan’s brusque disappearance, Aelin’s frowning mouth--led Elide to think of things like Maeve, and who she was to Lorcan and why, why, why . . .
No, she stubbornly told herself.  No, I will not wander down that path for it is dark and full of terrors. She shook her head with a sigh, she was definitely watching too much TV.
Rubbing at a worry line in her forehead, Elide cleaned up her cleaning supplies and looked at the time.  It was past two in the afternoon.  Surely her neighbor had fetched their clothes by now.  There was only so long one could forget about one’s laundry, after all.  Even on moving day.  So with a steely determination, Elide hobbled down into the basement and with baited breath, turned on the lights.
And there, clear as day, was her neighbor’s laundry.  Untouched, undisturbed, and slightly smelling of mildew now.  Biting down on a shriek of rage that would make a banshee jealous, Elide turned heel and stomped--as best as her gimp ankle could stomp--back up the stairs.  Her uncle once said that if wishes were horses, beggars would ride, but damn if she wasn’t being carried by a stampede of wild stallions right then and there because right then and right there she slammed her fist three times against her neighbor’s door.
The hammering--that damn, rutting awful hammering--stopped and the door opened.  And there, standing across the threshold from her, was a shirtless and sweaty Lorcan.  Oh, fuck.
“Elide?”  Lorcan asked, his brows furrowing and his chest heaving deeply.  “What are you--?”
“Lorcan?”  She asked, almost reeling back from the shock of it.  Lorcan was her neighbor?  What were the odds?  He did mention moving to Rifthold last time they spoke, but, “You’re my neighbor?”  She asked, wanting to clarify.
He opened his mouth, about to respond, when a voice in the background called, “Lorcan?  Who is it it?”  The voice was deep and sultry, wild and ancient and utterly feminine.  A woman walked around the corner.  Her skin was marble white and her black hair darker than any Elide had ever seen before.  She was tall, too.  Taller than even Lorcan, with the figure meant to intimidate any and all genders. Elide knew, with every fiber of her being, that this was Maeve.  Nightmare made flesh, Aelin had said.  For once, she wasn’t being dramatic.
Maeve took one look at Elide, small, broken Elide and her red lips pulled back into a slight sneer.  “Who’s this?”
Once glance at Lorcan--with his mouth still agape and his skin turning ashen--and Elide could tell he wasn’t functioning properly.  Squaring her shoulders and mentally bracing herself, Elide looked the taller woman dead in the eye, “Elide Lochan.  Lorcan’s new neighbor.”
Lorcan’s head jerked and he snapped back into the present.  Maeve raised a brow and smirked down at Lorcan.  “Lorcan’s neighbor?”  She repeated, her voice like a stream flowing over rocks, “Don’t you mean ours?”
Elide blinked.  Once.  Twice.  She stopped herself before thrice.  “What?”  She asked, looking at Lorcan for all of two seconds before returning her gaze to Maeve’s.
Maeve wrapped an arm around Lorcan’s shoulder, her long fingernails reminding Elide of claws.  “We’ve just moved in,” she said, deliberately slowly, as if speaking to a child, “together.”
“Oh,” Elide breathed, feeling for some reason as though she’d been sucker punched in the belly.  She needed a moment.  Her brows furrowed as her brain processed all this new information.  “Oh,” she repeated, and realized that although it’d been over a month ago, something deep inside of her had held on hope that Lorcan would reappear into her life and they would pick up where they left off.  It was stupid, but she’d kick herself for it later.  Later, and away from the all seeing eyes of Maeve.  Maeve, who was smiling down at her like Elide was a fly caught in her net and she couldn’t wait to devour her.  No.  No, no, no.  Elide knew a push when she saw it, and Maeve had pushed her.  And godsdammit, Elide was going to push back.  “Right,” she drawled, rolling her eyes.  “Thank you for informing me about relationship status, but I really didn’t ask.”
Maeve’s eyes narrowed, “What is it you want again?”
Smiling as sweetly and as innocently as possible, Elide tilted her head to the side and said, “I just wanted to let you know that your laundry is still taking up space in the washer and officially smells like shit.”  She turned to go, but then stopped herself and added, “Oh, and if you don’t collect it within the half hour, I’m throwing it all in the trash.  Welcome to the building!”
It was petty, and could possibly get her into a load of trouble down the line, but Maeve’s glare, and Lorcan’s look of pure astonishment definitely made it worth it.

Me Rewatching ML: Puppeteer
I want Adrien to hear Marinette playing Chat Noir when they’re playing with dolls with Manon XD
I wonder how many of her items she has in her room Marinette made herself. The fabric of her chair I can see her making, apple blossom is like one of Marinette’s signatures and her favorite flower. Her mannequin she likely made since it has her signature. The rug I can see the possibility of her making since it matches a color scheme that she likes.
The next big question: what can Marinette not make?
FRECKLES.
I wonder if Manon wears her hair in pigtails because of Marinette? I bet she did.
SABINE SO SMOL. Nadja just towers over her.
Marinette tells Manon she can play with both, only gives her the LB doll. And when LB doll ripped, lets Manon have Lady Wifi, not the other hero. She wasn’t inclined to give up Chat Noir. I stand that Marinette was up to part from Chat.
Pretty much HM this opening speech: “Children throwing tantrums. I love it!”
Alya, the ultimate wingwoman, making sure her ship sails.
And Marinette reaches for her ear and holds it. I wonder if that’s a habit she does when flustered/excited; kinda like how Adrien rubs the back of his neck when sheepish and flustered.
What is the name of the black haired boy in a white shirt, who Marinette encounters quite a bit? Who are you? I think I’ve seen people call him Justin Extra?
I wonder just how fast an akuma can fly. I’m sure pretty fast since if a Butterfly is in trouble, or there is trouble, a Butterfly needs help ASAP; so the little butterflies should move quickly to that desired hero. Unfortunately this now makes fast villains.
HM seems to have some experience with children, is very good at encouraging and appealing to Manon. That’s probably the gentlest I’ve ever heard him talk to a victim.
Manon has to be dramatic all the time.
Lmao, love Marinette’s sneak out of sight.
So Puppeteer has full control of what the dolls do and say; no independent thought or action from Lady Wifi at all.
It’s really funny watching LW having a tantrum and angrily saying “Mommy said no!”
Adrien and Plagg sneak away from the Gorilla, and it’s evidently a challenge with Plagg declaring that they had just snuck away from him. And according to French dub, Plagg does have a fondness for buttery popcorn, and was looking forward to seeing a movie. Wasn’t it confirmed that he does like to watch tv? I think it was.
Oh so close!
I love the detail that when Marinette talks she’s in constant motion, even now her arms just move about.
So according to a poster, Gabriel’s fashion line is called Butterfly instead of Gabriel, and the text below Butterfly is too small for me to read. This could hint to the possibility of Gabe being HM, or to Mama being the previous Butterfly and Gabriel named his fashion line after her, with her being his muse. I’m inclined for the latter, cause HM found the brooch recently at the start of Origins, the start of the year, but Gabe’s fashion line Butterfly/Gabriel has been around for a while, at least it feels like it to me.
So Ladybug can call anyone on her yo-yo, not just Chat. I wonder if that’s restricted to Marinette knowing them or not.
Poor Plagg. Adrien made him drop a chunk of Camembert, I bet it was left there forgotten.
There is one kid in Paris for sure who thinks Rogorcop is cool. His mom does not agree.
And really ML, kudos to you for having multiracial families.
LB checks Chat out this episode.
LB regrets hitting Chat with her yo-yo. Like, really, where did that idea that she doesn’t adore Chat come from??
This ep has to be the happiest I’ve seen HM. He’s having a blast with Manon as his villain of the day. HM is good with kids, ish. I can see him in the trope of villainous dad who genuinely loves his kid, but is also a super bad influence too.
Lady Wifi is the fastest of Puppeteer’s puppets, with Chat Noir a close 2nd.
BYE CHAT.
Goddman LB can throw.
She really does whistle her own theme song.
15, Tikki slides out in view to give Marinette a wink. Manon could have seen her.
Aaaaaw, they go see the panther from Animan. I’m going to hc it was Marinette who thought of going to see the big black cat ;3

in time you’ll learn that “just” and “right” only mean the same thing when they’re coming from very specific people. please don’t cry.
seeing yourself for who you really are would be great, if you knew where to start looking.
your love will always be rooted deeper than any grave.
your contempt will always taste like grief.

take a long shower, wash your hair. wash the clothes you were wearing. wash the memories from your mind and body.
loneliness is the fracture that never heals quite right.
you can’t wrestle apologies from the sea or the sun, but fuck are you ever going to try.
the aftermath of your life affords you three real options: obscurity, legend, or horror story.

you are notorious for rubbing salt in the wound. cheap vodka in the wound. battery acid in the wound!
some are the bandage, some are the knife, some get creative.
words in couples carry weight: “fuck you.” “hell no.” “oh god.” “sorry, mom.”
nothing can stay.

you may have been gutted but your mouth is soft, your tongue is silver, and your teeth are gemstones cut to size.
when it all goes to hell just remember that it’s what’s inside that counts (though many would not find you very appetizing.)
remarkable that one plane of existence can host so much (and so little) distance. the spaces between people, ideals, fingertips, the sky and the sea.
assholery is incurable, unfortunately.

headcanons ☙ manon / fighting
for a fairly small woman, she hits like a fucking truck.
she started taking kickboxing classes when she was ten, and she’s been training in muay thai since she moved to paris for auror training. kickboxing is a little more defensive and fluid, and muay thai makes more use of the elbows and knees, but they’re both aggressive, tactical striking martial arts.
she’s an aggressive, tactical fighter. once she finds an advantage she’ll press it, but she’s not impulsive, and she’s got an eye for sizing up opponents quickly.
her magical dueling is heavily influenced by her martial arts training — spells timed and placed like physical strikes.
in real combat, she’ll always choose the fastest takedown, however brutal.
( the auror office’s laissez faire attitude towards outright killing death eaters during the first war suits her fine. )
sparring with friends, she’s much looser. getting to know the way someone else moves is fun, and she competes in local gyms’ kickboxing tournies more for exercise than practice. the ring is just a good place to fuck around with new techniques and work off some steam.
when she makes the younger order members spar with her, she’s a surprisingly patient teacher.
