And I yearn to lift you. Not because I want to shine or even be remembered. It's because I want you to go on. I want Ferrix to continue. In my waning hours, that's what comforts me most. But I fear for you. We've been sleeping.

We've had each other, and Ferrix, our work, our days. We had each other, and they left us alone. We kept the trade lanes open, and they left us alone. We took their money and ignored them, we kept their engines churning, and the moment they pulled away, we forgot them. Because we had each other. We had Ferrix. But we were sleeping. I've been sleeping. And I've been turning away from the truth I wanted not to face.

There is a wound that won't heal at the center of the galaxy. There is a darkness reaching like rust into everything around us. We let it grow, and now it's here. It's here, and it's not visiting anymore. It wants to stay. The Empire is a disease that thrives in darkness, it is never more alive than when we sleep.

It's easy for the dead to tell you to fight, and maybe it's true, maybe fighting is useless. Perhaps it's too late. But I'll tell you this... If I could do it again, I'd wake up early and be fighting these bastards... from the start.

I love that yet again we see Cassian take a back seat so someone else can rally the troops, someone else takes center stage and the credit.

In this case, it's Maarva. Last time they spoke, he said he didn't understand why she was staying, why she wanted to fight a revolution against an impossible force.

But this time, he gets it. He lets her word be the rallying call for her home, he makes sure EVERYBODY gets to hear it, that the entire town gets called out to listen to her final speech as he goes in to rescue Bix in the shadows.

He runs from hiding place to hiding place as Brasso stands at the front of a crowd, walks them towards a wall of Imperial soldiers, and leads them in the fight for freedom.

Cassian isn't a Big Damn Hero. He's not someone whose name is known or remembered. He's not a leader who makes the big speech to a crowd.

He's a spy. He observes, he notices things, he figures out the plan that has to happen in order to succeed at the goal. He's the one who puts it all together and then steps away from the spotlight so he can do it all over again.

Diego Luna Reveals Which ‘Andor’ Scene Made Him Cry on Set

“Well, I was walking underneath Ferrix [and] the director started playing the words of Maarva. So I was listening to the music in a moment, and then the words. With the music, it was just before the words. Let's talk about the music. I'm walking underneath Ferrix, and I'm hearing the music, and I just started crying. I didn't want the character to cry there. It was like, “Shit, no, this can't be happening.” I got so emotional. So emotional. And it means a lot to me, on a personal level. That relation of Cassian and Maarva, and the way she ends up setting him in the right direction. I think it's such a strong, strong piece of Cassian's story, and I get emotional just by talking about it. It is, for me, the strongest relation, and it's clearly Maarva's example [that] sets him in that ride that will end in Rogue One. It was really tough to keep my emotions. To keep it strong because I didn't want him to break there. It had to be later on. I didn't want it to break there, and it was impossible.”
