Dissonance Poisoning.

something something Project: Nexus succeeds and causes a catastrophic, Nuclear level event across Nevada. Few survive, those who do are slowly killed to Dissonance exposure. Showing symptoms similar to Radiation Poisoning. Alongside the mind, body, and reality altering affects of Dissonance. -Sanford and Deimos died soon after their injuries/exposure. Their injuries oddly reminiscent of their time in The Other Place. Leaving their last moments in pain and distress as their senses rotted away. -Tricky survived due to the Improbability Drive, but now is extremely "irradiated" and should be avoided. His form now resembling his MC7 look. Constantly drooling a mix between blood and Dissonance and his organs have since fallen out due to general organ failure and rotting. His lower jaw is barely hanging on. -Hank also died soon after his exposure, but gained the more "reality altering" affects. His behavior and appearance irregular. Looking more like soot and char, combined with the glowy features seen in Lamenters. He eventually collapsed due to organ failure and muscle atrophy. -Doc managed to get his hands on the Keystone Fragment not long before the event. Using it resulted in him gaining a bit of "immunity" to the affects of Dissonance Poisoning. While in reality it slows the symptoms and keeps his body from failing, but does not subside the affects it has on the mind. He is currently the only known survivor besides Tricky and is hellbent on looking for his Crews bodies. Only god knows why.

hello! It's been a long time right? Well, I'm slowly getting back to writing, So I'll start slowly, It's been a while since I read or watch anything else about Madness combat, so I'm sorry if the personality isn't very faithful to the original :((

I'm glad you woke up, I thought it would fail again, Your system is really difficult to understand so it would be a huge headache to try everything again ” The unknown voice says with a soft laugh next to you and you look at it for a moment, It looked like one of the creatures you had seen when it was turned on after so long, It wore a dark gray cap and had some bandages on its head, In addition to having a lit cigarette in its mouth

“ Hamm, hey, are you okay...? ” the creature seems to be confused by the long moment you were staring at it in a somewhat uncomfortable silence

You weren't confused however, nor scared or anything like that, the only thing that was going through your mind... Was how agonizing it was to see that cigarette burning in front of you, In a quick movement you take that cigarette out of your mouth. creature catching him off guard

“ H-hey! ” He was visibly even more confused by your action but a little irritated too, He tries to take the cigarette back but you crush it with your hand just like that

“ Why did you do that!? ” The Creature asks, visibly upset and a little irritated by what you did, You just didn't seem to care much about it and wiped your hand on your clothes and then looked at him with a neutral expression

“ According to information, cigarettes not only harm your health, causing diseases such as different types of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, among others, but also bring harm to the environment ” The Creature seems to be even more confused by his long speech about the bad guys with cigarettes, But soon he shakes his head and looks for something in his pocket

“ this is what I get in return? ” He speaks in a slightly sarcastic way but joking a little

“ I know I didn't ask to be turn on ” You give a direct answer and then get up from the table you were sitting at

“ Whatever, at least I still have more emergency cigarettes!~ ” The Creature says taking a cigarette box from his pocket and humming happily, opening it to get one, but you quickly pick it up again and then throw the cigarette box into the floor and step on it

“ ... ” The creature remains silent looking at his cigarette box crushed on the floor, then you look at each other in silence for a few minutes before he speaks again

“ you damned little shi- ”

okay okay so Doc is a priest under Jebediah, who is the bishop of the church he operates at. The Machine is more or less god and Phobos is more or less Jesus and aside from that it's the classic Gothic style catholicism

anyway Doc is a priest who's been down on his luck, lost his family when he was much younger, and has been with the church just to try and find some sort of purpose in life. he's sent to perform an exorcism on a kid who's been plagued by evil spirits, and that goes fine and dandy except he himself ends up haunted by Hank, Deimos, and Sanford, who are demons

Hank doesn't tend to manifest to the point where he can be seen, but when he does it's always as a dark shadowy figure and never a fully formed person. he's the most likely the physically lash out and throw things or even attack Doc to get his way, but he's seen a lot less frequently than the other two

Deimos and Sanford have a more passive influence over his thoughts and emotions but they do manifest pretty often. Sanford is the only one that other people are able to see, only because he lets them. he spends the first few weeks masquerading as a church member, "attends" mass, and even goes to confession with Doc. his angle is to get to know him on a more personal level, gain his trust, and increase his own influence

Deimos is one of those spirits that gains more power at night and causes a lot of sleep disturbances/paralysis/nightmares. during the day he'll manifest quite often and just be a nuisance, give the most unhelpful/violent suggestions to solving problems, and sometimes throw things or write on the walls both in an effort to make Doc feel like he's losing his mind and make him look like he's losing his mind since he's the only one who can see Deimos and Hank (when he's around that is)

the goal isn't necessarily corruption. Doc's soul is plenty stained on its own. sure he picks back up drinking because of them and yeah he'll wake up with scratches on his body from Hank, but really he just serves as an anchor to reality for them to operate off of. Hank isn't usually around because he's somewhere else doing demon shit and he needs the new meat suit to stay alive and un-exorcised unlike the last one. if people around town start mysteriously dying or noisy neighbors end up hospitalizing or Doc's landlord suffers from a nightmare-induced mental breakdown after trying to raise the rent? well that's no one's business

sometimes a guy is just three other guys inside one guy. that's basically what I've got for now but I do wanna flesh this one out more

Oooooo! That’s fun! Does the halo ever talk? Would it do so telepathically or through Jeb’s decayed mouth? Would it introduce itself as the Halo or Jeb? Or anything at all?

Also, what are the Halo’s thought’s on Jeb? Is it biased to him? Does it see him as hypocrite? Right ideas wrong methods? As the only right one there?

Also what’s stopping the halo from swapping bodies? Has it put too much into Jeb? Is it literally unable to separate from him? Has it made his corpse to fit in it’s influence/hold perfectly? Like when you use a pen so much it molds to your fingers. Has it managed sentimentality to a dead man? Is it respect? I’m very curious about the Halo’s perception. It’s sentience.

AGH FORGOT TO ANSWER THIS - I feel like when it speaks it comes from the halo, but the voice is Jeb's. It sounds slightly distorted. - The halo has no thoughts on Jeb, he's simply a vessel for the halo to use. - The thing stopping the halo from swapping bodies is the fact that other people can fight it's influence. If you were to put it on someone with a strong will then they can fight the halo off. If you're a dead body there's nothing to fight lmao!

Jebediah: surprise or not, he's a mage. Although most people perceive him as a warrior, because of the small armor inserts, his general physique, and his halberd. Tho it's actually a staff, not a halberd, why not use both weapons in battle? Overall, it's a pretty useful combination, although Jebedeean is no substitute for a full-fledged warrior. I haven't decided on his magic direction yet.
