found family coworkers (definition multiple) of all time [image description under cut]
Comic 1:
First panel, Ingo and Akari are standing together. Someone off-screen asks “oh, is that your dad?”. Akari has an awkward smile and replies “oh, no no. he’s my...” There’s a long pause as she looks at Ingo. He’s leaving it up to her. She finishes, “He’s my coworker... friend... guy.” In smaller font, she continues “yea. that.” Comic 2: A dramatic panel of Volo, looking pissed off, shouting “who are you to interfere?!!” Ingo tugs the brim of his cap lower. The upper half of his face is in shadow, while his eyes stand out. He looks threatening but has his expression is his characteristic neutral-frown, and he says “...I’m her coworker friend guy.”. In the final panel, Machoke is throwing an incredible amount of punches, a reference to Star Platinum from Jojo. Ingo is pointing with one hand, his battle pose. The background text reads, “What does that even mean??” Volo is experiencing off-screen violence.
Comic 3: The comic is titled “Reunion”. In the first panel, Ingo shows off Akari, with a faint smile on his face. She is labelled “best girl (assigned by god)”. He says, “Emmet, this is Akari, my coworker. She’s the reason I was able to return to this station.” In smaller font, Akari comments to herself, “ooh... so this is the man in white.”
In the second panel, in smaller font Ingo notes “I think I remember now...” He says, “Akari, this is Emmet. He's also my coworker.” Coworker is underlined. Emmet is crying in the background, looking confused, conflicted, distressed, and happy. He says, “Brother...?” In the final panel, we see a framed photograph of all three together. Underneath are the words, Employee of the Month. Akari is dressed as a depot agent, and she and Ingo pose with peace signs. Emmet is red faced from crying, but he’s smiling widely. He looks happy.

Ilsa, I’ve seen you posting a lot of Trigun and well I’m intrigued by it, to say the least. But just for giggles, would you try to convince me why should I watch it? 😆🤚🏻
AHHHHH!
I didn't think Trigun was going to worm its way into my brain so much but here we are. There is so much to love about it and I adore so many of the characters for a billion different ways. The character type of someone who is made into a killing machine and then is slowly convinced to accept love and forgiveness is my favourite and is all over trigun. So many characters see themselves as monstrous but choose to do what they see as right for the sake of / with the help of their friends. There are moments of silliness and of tragedy, all with an incredibly interesting setting which slowly gets revealed.
Because of the recent release of Trigun Stampede, the community is really active rn (esp on Tumblr!) and it's really cool to see so many incredible fanarts, comics, fanfics and discussions being made. It's very fun to be part of a very active fandom, but also one that is 25 years old and has fanworks that are older than I am.
I really love it, and I would recommend it, but unfortunately I also have some caveats which I gotta mention.
What you gotta know before getting into Trigun is that there are 4 different canon versions and each one has its problems. I wish I could recommend X version as the definitive and best, but that just doesn't exist which is very annoying.
1) Trigun Maximum: the manga
Good: incredible nuances to characters like Wolfwood, Knives, Livio/Razlo. Vashwood subtext is off the charts and their dynamic is incredibly fascinating and central. This is the most detailed and complex story of Trigun and has lots of themes, characters and plot points that don't exist in other versions. Has elements of sexism and sexual violence, but (imo) to show how shitty the world is, rather than to revel in the misogyny. The tone is tragic, with equal mix of hope and pain.
Bad: the female characters of Meryl and Milly get massively sidelined in comparison to their depictions elsewhere. It's a very long manga and has (imo) pacing issues that limit the impact of emotional moments. The art style is beautiful, but notoriously difficult to follow, especially in the many long fight scenes (particularly bad in volume 5). There's lots of disagreement about 'correct' translations and it can be hard to tell which character is doing/saying/thinking what at points which can make it confusing and frustrating to read at times.
Overall: 7/10, I would recommend but maybe not as your first bit of exposure to Trugun
2) 1998 anime Trigun
Good: the silliest of Triguns with some great voice acting. The friendships between Vash, Milly, Meryl and Wolfwood are very sweet and engaging (although it would have been nice to see more of the four of them together). It's a fun overview of the Trigun story and has a very entertaining mix of comedy and serious emotional moments. Lots of hijinks and lots of fights. Milly and Meryl are core characters and get time to shine (it is impossible not to love Milly). This is personal preference but the animation style is kinda goofy in the way it changes styles to exaggerate characters' feelings which I love. The first 12 ISH episodes are very Saturday morning cartoon vibes without being too inane and childish.
Bad: because it only had the first couple of volumes of the manga to adapt from, the mid-season tone shift and later fights feel rushed, a little confusing and ultimately lead to a less satisfying conclusion than in trimax. The misogyny is noticeable, especially in the first couple of episodes, though is limited to a couple of comments in some episodes and doesn't (I think) make it unwatchable. The antagonists are rushed through and it's hard to work out who the 'main' villain is. Tone change is quite abrupt. Wolfwood is a less developed character with a less intense (back)story, Livio/Razlo doesn't exist at all etc
Overall: 7/10, this is what I'd recommend you start with. It has pacing issues and uncomfortable sexist comments, but I think they're outweighed by the strengths of the main casts relationships and the pure entertainment value of it. Not the most satisfying ending, but they were constrained so :/
3) Badlands Rumble (film)
Good: animation is SO crisp. Wolfwood is at maximum chest exposure and actually his character is pretty interesting here. Milly and Meryl are back, but in limited roles. Some interesting world building and Vash and Wolfwood go thru their divorce arc TM which is dumb and funny and angsty.
Bad: Wolfwood is far too pale. The first half an hour is made almost unwatchable by the decision to make sexism and sexual harrassement a way to pad out the runtime. Vash is such a creep it just makes for uncomfortable watching.
4/10 don't watch if you're not already invested, and honestly do yourself a favour by watching the opening scene, then skipping to the 30 min ish mark and watch knowing that Vash has some very tough dried meat in his front coat pocket.
4) Trigun Stampede anime
Good: really cool 3D animation and music. Has Wolfwood's manga backstory and some manga characters like Livio and Crimsonnail, but with very different characterisations. I really liked the episode looking at the childhood of two orphans and how their love for each other was manipulated against them both. Much bigger focus on Knives than the original and more elaboration of his motivations and plans. Zazie is SO much better here than in the original anime. No uncomfortable sexism yay!
Bad: I... don't like tristamp very much. The characters are watered down from their manga versions and Knives is just kinda evil because he was en evil child, rather than the much more nuanced version in trimax. Milly doesn't exist (yet) and they added in a new character Roberto whose role in the story is (or at least was to me) obvious if you know the basics of the hero's journey structure. Everyone has been twinkified and Wolfwood doesn't even have his tits out smh. Vash just comes across as having less agency and his motivations feel weak. I really just dont like a lot of the character decision here BUT to be fair, that's because I'm comparing them to the manga. But also, a main plot point is someone taking over his brother's body so that his sisters can get pregnant and it definitely still feels weird in context. The focus on the two brothers makes other dynamics a little weaker, and has led to a lot of incest-y fandom things which is ehh.
5.5/10 there are some things it does very well and it's very popular for a reason but I personally think the characterisations are disappointing. It's trying to strike a weird balance between being its own, new thing and also nostalgia for original elements, leading to some questionable pacing and plot choices. It doesn't even have Midvalley the Hornfreak.
I would love to be able to talk about Trigun with you and be passionate about the elements of it I love, but also I don't want to recommend it without giving you a fair picture of the parts I'm more critical about. I genuinely love the world building and characters, which are expressed best in the less accessible form of the manga but are also found in the animes. What I'd recommend is watching the original anime first, but also you might need to give it the benefit of the doubt for the first couple episodes which is where the dodgy 90s sexism is most obvious. I'd be super interested in hearing your thoughts and reactions to it if you did watch it, and also please bear in mind that my complaints about tristamp are personal and there are many who love that version so don't take my negativity as fact.

*glances at the raging cunt who keeps posting harassment to this fandom's tags every month or so*
Tumblr media
You know the last time I checked you're not a fucking reylo so beats the fuck out of us why you're up in our goddamn shit so often @watchingtheearthrise
Cait Corrain isn't active in this fandom. She's hardly a reylo, and if she's gonna act like that she's not fuckin' welcome here.
I think they may have wrote a few reylo fics a long time ago but they're not a big name writer and the fandom as a whole don't really know who the fuck this person is.
I've seen a few people online mention Cait's book is published reylo fanfiction but I can't find anything from the writer confirming it so we’re all just assuming it started out as a reylo fic.
Looking at it, it seems more like lore olympus fanfiction than reylo but again, until the author says otherwise we’re just assuming.
Cait did however talk a gullible friend into helping her sabotage other people's book reviews and when the lacky she coerced did it wrong because she didn't really explain her dastardly plan very well and the moment she realized how badly the 'friend' fucked up she threw that kid under the bus.
Tumblr media
But even that shit is kinda sus because these timestamps don't fucking line up. This conversation looks doctored to a lot of people meaning the only person responsible for being a cunt here is cait and you @watchingtheearthrise.
The friend is mentioned to be a reylo but you can't really put much of the blame on them since they were just doing what their cool(shitty) published writer friend asked them to do, assuming this friend is even real.
Cait didn't get mad she did a bad thing. She got mad she did it poorly and got caught. Which speaks volumes about Cait.
You being here assuming the worst out of this fandom every time someone so much as sneezes without saying 'god bless you' speaks volumes about you @watchingtheearthrise.
Please for the love of fuck would you find a fucking hobby to pour this endless passion into.
You know something really fun that I've spent a lot of mental energy on over the years and has brought me great pride and joy is this Star Wars Episode 9 rewrite comic I've been working on.
Legit!
I got character sheets and new alien designs.
Tumblr media
Most of the script is wrote out, I'm currently working on storyboards and page framing.
Tumblr media
I'm only as far as I am because I have a life outside the computer and can't dedicate endless hours a pet project but it's got 2 of my favorite things in it:
A narratively cohesive continuation of The Last Jedi-
And furries.
Because fuckit why not it's my fucking comic.
You're welcome to laugh, and I know you will because you're a huge pile of shit, but doing this has been incredibly cathartic.
we live in a world were we have increasingly little control over basic shit in it. Media can feel like it wants to make money more than it cares about the story and character development and if I want media I’ll actually enjoy well goddamnit I guess I’ll make it myself.
I want it to be good. I want the salt of the fact a random furry wrote and created a better Star Wars EP9 to burn. I think thats funny.
I personally didn't like EP9
(Notice how I dislike EP9 but don't go out of my way to harass people who like it @watchingtheearthrise?)
So I decided to just make my own. Instead of being asshole to people in a fandom who do like it.
(Notice what I'm doing there @watchingtheearthrise?)
I don't see you in here when the fandom does nice shit like donating a shit ton of money to Adam Driver's arts for the military foundation.
I didn't see you in here when Thea Guanzon, a southeast asian reylo's published book became a new york times bestseller.
I don't fucking see you pop in when the dedicated members of this fandom post art and stories and celebrate the thing they love.
Don't let a single person who is acting shitty color your entire opinion about a whole ass fandom man. God fucking knows if I took this approach with finnreys I would just assume all of them are huge pieces of shit because nine times out of ten the people posting anti hate to the reylo tag are finnreys.
But since I'm not a complete fucking dumbass Like Some People Here
Tumblr media
I'm able to use some common fucking sense and see it's not the finnreys that are shit.
finnreys are fine.
It's just like... 4 unique people with a lot of extra accounts.
real fucking bold to comment on someone making extra accounts to do nefarious things online from someone who already does that.
I’m pretty fucking sure at least 6 of the antis I regularly come across in this tag Are Your Accounts @watchingtheearthrise. You admit to 2 extra ones you’ve used to harass people in this fandom in the past In Your Fucking Bio
Tumblr media
( I love hate how you have reylos in your DNI but paradoxically will not stop posting to this fucking fandoms’s tag I swear to Jesus Fucking Chri-)
God fucking bless you @watchingtheearthrise I hope you find someone who helps you learn how to not be such a festering cunt.
I started out this post not even know who the fuck Cait Corrain is. I still don't give a fuck because shit people can go fuck off into oblivion for all the fucks I don't give but since some asshat antis can’t be fucked to do a goddamn second of research I guess much like that ep9 I'm rewriting I’ll just fucking do this too.
Cait's a reylo about as much as you @watchingtheearthrise and you’re both welcome to let the door hit y’all on the ass on the way out.

Do you think there's a connection between the 80s and 90s comics mostly only mentioning him offhand without actual appearances and modern comics like Twojar or One Bad Day making him more violent and increasingly taking away his gimmick ? Because I feel like it's two different approaches to the same idea of wanting to have a villain whose thing is being 'smart' on hold in case they want a story where Batman shows off his mental capabilities but not wanting to deal with everything else that comes with the character like the goofyness or having to come up with riddles that don't suck
oh man okay this is such an interesting question and I'm so excited to be able to revisit it when my reread gets into the 2000s and have more perspective to offer
for the time being I do think that it's fair to say that making the Riddler a central antagonist in a story is challenging because he has, like, a relatively narrow gimmick compared to a lot of other rogues and having to actually come up with riddles is a tall order that a lot of writers simply don't want to fuck with.
personally I think the best way to embrace this is to just acknowledge that the riddles are going to be balls to the wall stupid and let the audience understand that Batman is equally unhinged for being able to solve them at all. Batman '66 is frankly great at this, best exemplified in this scene from the movie that no other Batman adaptation has topped yet:
youtube
what are any of you talking about! you sound crazy! they are right though, and that's what living in Gotham does to a motherfucker.
for the record I think Batman Forever also actually does this really well without being quite as unhinged. the riddles are actually pretty solid and straightforward; Bruce solves them easily but the real challenge is in putting them together at the end to figure out who's actually behind everything. (it's Jim Carrey, serving cunt.) it's maybe the only part of the movie that actually shows any restraint at all, and I respect that.
the thing is that this approach kind of falls apart if you want to do a more grounded take on Batman that presents the Riddler as the legitimate threat despite being a man who on purpose calls himself the Riddler. I dog on Batman 2022 a lot but at least there you can (charitably) read Paul Dano's shitty little puzzles as being intentionally messy owing to the fact that his Riddler is, you know, a sopping wet miserable catholic redditor who's really just trying to kiss Batman. I do genuinely like that his master plan is incoherent enough that Bruce doesn't crack all of it and misses vital pieces, it's a nice spin on an inexperienced Batman + the complexity addiction that Riddler schemes are so known for.
and like, to be clear, I do still think that Riddler sucks, but other attempts to make him a serious antagonist are so much worse. you mentioned War of Jokes and Riddles and One Bad Day, the latter of which I do think is just. appallingly misguided on literally every imaginable front and betrays an embarrassing lack of understanding of what people actually like and find entertaining about the character in favor of scrubbing him down to a bog standard Hannibal Lecter-flavored evil genius serial killer manipulator.
which is a fine stock character, where would comic books be without easily recognizable bad guy archetypes, etc, but god, not the Riddler. where the fuck is the fun in that? he's just a silly little guy in a leotard. please, stop trying to make this guy scary.
Tumblr media
for god's sake. he's just a baby.
anyway I get why it happens though and it's Marketing, and I think specifically the very online and instantaneous nature of fandom in the 21st century. detective comics comics needs people reading their comics and, maybe even more importantly, talking about their comics, and that means leaning really heavily on well-established characters the people give a shit about. most readers are going to be more interested, even passively, in the Riddler than Random Smart Guy Murderer #623, because he's been around for a long time and he's a very ingrained part of the lore.
but everything has to be a fucking event with high stakes now, again because attention is currency, so it can never just be, like, "oh no, the Riddler has Batman trapped in a giant hamster maze," it's the Riddler and the Joker beefing and also the Riddler murdering Kite-Man's son for ??? reasons ??? idk man look how fucked up he is! this guy's serious! he has a question mark scar on his chest! please take him seriously!
and also, back to the first point, it's frankly just easier to write a generic egomaniac smart guy than it is to come up with riddles that are even a little bit good or interesting enough to carry an entire plot. I bet Tom King really thought he was doing something when he settled down to write One Bad Day and decided that the riddles were actually just a fucking power inhibitor the Riddler was putting in place to stop his massive brainmeat from killing everybody he came in contact with, but I think it's actually the sign of Tom King being a lil punk bitch, actually. just admit you don't have the sauce to come up with a riddle and pass the gig onto someone else!
anyway this is why most of my favorite Riddler appearances have him in a supporting role rather than serving as a primary antagonist (think Batman: Unburied, King Tut's Tomb, the Long Halloween/Dark Victory/When In Rome triptych), and his best antagonist appearances have him working with WAY lower stakes that's mostly just trying to get Bruce to pay attention to him (Vol. 2 of the Batman Adventures and Strange Love Adventures 2022).
tl;dr stop trying to make me take this man seriously

Hi I have an odd question I’ve recently decided to get back into my old personal Viggo lives comic: “Beyond the Horizon” after seeing/reading other’s rtte art, theories, fics, and head canons on it (tbh your VLAU fic was definitely the kicker that made me want to get back into my comic) but I don’t want to seem like I’m copying or stealing ideas so I was wondering if you had any alternate names for Viggo’s Skrill (also some writing tips would be very helpful since I’m very rusty ;-;)
i mean
this is how i named viggo's skrill to begin with. just a random fucking chapter of a fic i started in early 2022 and abandoned until recently. i justified my choice of name because this bitch from black butler is also called beast and i think she's hot
Tumblr media
in VLAU that story viggo referenced liking as a child about the boy with the magic eye was a reference to black butler i shit you not. i don't even like black butler anymore i haven't watched it in years and don't plan on watching it again any time soon.
i find using the Wings of Fire format of names really helps when naming dragons. lets look at the character names in WoF: Clay, Sunny, Starflight, Tsunami, Glory, Moonwatcher, Kinkajou, Deathbringer, Winter, Peril, Quibli and Turtle are some of the significant ones. go for something weather/sky/space themed for a skrill. just like that. combine weirder shit for the viking feel like hookfang or stormfly. but then you've also got like skullcrusher and cloudjumper so it's good. and then just words like barf, belch, toothless and grump so that works. steal the name Thunder from NR out of spite.
you can also search for old norse words that we're aware of and just find one that sounds like a name with a nice meaning if you want to be fancy and preppy.
another way i like to do it is steal species names from the httyd books like i'll just open up my copy of the incomplete book of dragons until i find something nice like... stickyworm? no... vorpent? no... toxic nightshade... NIGHTSHADE that would be a good name for a skrill you can use that if you want. doomfang seems like more of a dagur name than a viggo name but thats still a bangin skrill name.
and uhhh writing tips uhhhhh. i mean i don't got nothing tbh. be as self indulgent as you want. not everything has to live up to the standards of Scholars Mate and Choosing to Forget not everything has to be that good. my VLAU is genuinely just 17+(?) chapters of fluff and angst and vigcup being adorable and its just me projecting a bunch of my stupid little OOC headcanons onto my stupid little adhd blorbos. my other fics were either me being angsty, me listening a little too much to the httyd soundtrack, me just fucking daydreaming about random shit, or me going HAHAHAHAHAHA LETS MAKE VIGGO'S LIFE A LIVING HEL. i find inspiration from the most random shit. i took a bath once and when i hopped in my cold little toes burned like fire in the hot water and then i tried this coconut shampoo and now i have an entire WIP based on that one experience. there's no fancy thought or writing process behind it there's no "first drafts" (probably cuz i edit as i go lmao) there's no immaculate planning every little detail of the fic. it's just little magpie me going "oh shiny oh shiny oh shiny oh shiny" and then making a mosaic out of all the shitty pieces of glass i've found and somehow a couple people find the mosaic pretty so i am proud because i worked hard on it. and lemme tell you, writing self indulgent fanfiction where im not trying to please anyone except myself is so much fun like i've literally written about viggo being the twin's cousin and i literally made viggo a soft poetry boi and its just fun. i know some people aren't into that or aren't interested and thats fine they don t have to read it. write for yourself you don't even have to be good at it just do it who cares. thats the best advice i can give. just do whatever the fuck you fucking want

#HARPERSMOVIECOLLECTION
2023
I re-watched Desperado (1995)
After watching a shitty action movie that bored me to tears I decided to watch an action movie that entertained me a lot as a kid, to see if it still entertained me.
The Mariachi, carrying a guitar case full of weapons, goes after a brutal drug lord named Bucho.
I don't love Robert Rodriguez as a director. I think he has a 50/50 record. El Mariachi, his first film, is definitely an amazing use of a meager budget. Both From Dusk Till Dawn and Planet Terror are fun and ridiculous horror films. But, movies like Machete and Once Upon A Time In Mexico are dissapointing to say the least. Rodriguez's strength has never been story. He does his best work by making things fun and exciting and throwing in cool over the top ideas to make up for lackluster writing. Sometimes that mixture doesn't turn out well.
Desperado is probably his best moment. The sequel to El Mariachi, which was good but not enough, and the prequel to Once Upon A Time In Mexico, which was bad and way too much.
The best and most solid writing comes in the beginning. Steve Buscemi walks into a Mexican bar and regaling and scaring the patrons with a tall tale about the Mariachi. It's a damn good scene and an interesting way to enter the world of this film. From there it's just cool ideas and action sequences. Not exactly a bad thing, but not exactly a plot driven film. At one point Rodriguez tries to throw in the idea that the Bad Guy is The Mariachi's brother, but it's an afterthought and pretty pointless. He also throws out the idea that there is more than one Mariachi and a few of them actually show up, to be quickly killed off and that's a pretty pointless bit too.
Desperado is a western. A Mexican western and action film to be precise. A loner hero strolls into town to take out the big bad who has a stranglehold on the people. There isn't much more to it than that and we don't need more. There are nice touches that replace plot throughout. Little flashes of stuff going on that do manage to do some world building and some minor character development.
Antonio Banderas as the Mariachi is just plain cool. He plays it cool and fills the character with little hints of suffering and personality. The supporting cast is also a joy. Cheech Marin, Steve Buscemi, Question Tarantino, Salma Hayek and a little bit of Danny Trejo looking menacing. All of them making this a better experience.
The action is ridiculous, violent and fun. There's a lot of the 1990's in this film, as well as a lot seriously over the top stuff that turns this into a comic book of a movie. There is no care if something looks impossible or dumb, if it seemed cool to Robert Rodriquez at the time, it made it into the film.
The overall sense of fun makes up for the many missteps. It's an undeniably good time. Although, the lack of a well thought out story does cause some lag. There isn't enough here to give the movie very high stakes, which I suppose is why Rodriguez tacked on the "Brother" story out of nowhere. And, toward the end everything starts falling apart. The movie even leaves you with a few questions. Like, after Mariachi kills his brother, how did he escape the compound? The movie doesn't tell you, it just fades to white and then we are somewhere else entirely. Like wtf is that? The movie has problems, for sure and for something so simple it gets pretty messy.
Movies don't need to be perfect. Directors don't need to be perfect. Writing doesn't need to be perfect. The basic point of movies is to entertain and Desperado is entertaining, even though it could have been much better if more thought out.

WIP game
Rules: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have wips. (You can make your own post or reblog this one!) I have deemed that this isn’t just for writing either. Sketch titles? Comics? DND campaigns? If you have an unfinished project, it counts!!
Tagged by @deathcomes4u
okay, this feels like a call out post alskdjfldsjf i'm only doing DP again because since the last time i did this in april?? my wip count has grown exponentially and that's already too much. (literally i think i did this in april and i only had like 29??) i'm gonna split it between au series and non au series stuff because i do have other ideas!! i just never write them
the world is having more fun than me (tonight) wips
we're going in chronological order because that's how i have them organized
mateo's jealous of tony - literally exactly what it sounds like. i was rereading "college is a time of firsts" and i wanted to expand on that because honestly i didn't pay enough attention to it at the time, and i think mateo deserves to be a little jealous, as a treat
morning adrenaline rush - a scrapped chapter from "i'm not okay (i promise" that i think works as a standalone. i'm just polishing it up at this point
cape - stupid fucking work that i haven't named and i can't seem to fucking write. it's supposed to be right before "longer than the song of the whippoorwill" to provide some context but i haven't written it!! so it wallows
quit telling everyone i'm (permanently) dead! - working on the last chapter after invisobang
INVISOBANG - i can't wait to share this one 😈
by all means, i'm getting mad (that don't mean i don't feel sorry for you) - danny visits dan in prison and things are fun and not at all angsty!
intermediary winter break fic & ectober 14 - literally what it says. ectober 14 i think is the one where i have nikau arrange a ringtone for danny and it's the show's theme
heaven's grief brings hell's reign - more smut! this time with even more angst! this is the end of the [invisobang] arc.
clockwork post IB fic - i want to write out some clockwork stuff as a "prequel" to IB, but it's gonna go after, i tihnk. timey wimey stuff.
mateo post IB fic - i have a scene i want to write from mateo's pov that i don't have time or space for in IB, so it's going here, probably!
first date fic - spring semester! new arc! danny and mateo are going out on their "first" date to the boardwalk and their friends are being more emo about it than they are (might become rated E, not sure yet)
big date fic - a series of dates i wanted danny to go on with tony before i deicded tony was a shitty person and these are better dates with mateo anyway. will probably write them all in the same work but then mark where they go in the timeline in each chapter
mateo gets interrogated by vanessa - this one has IB spoilers but it's gonna be fun. they're relationship is gonna develop nicely
you're the best thing to happen to me - a oneshot i wrote on tumblr a while back that i'm gonna polish up and post
sin francisco - i want to finish this SO BAD but IB has taken every brain cell i have
fishin' in the dark - mateo comes to amity for their first summer together and danny shows him what it's like to be a kid out in the middle of nowhere. bonfire party turns into skinny dippin, all set to nitty gritty's fishin in the dark.
anything you say can and will be held against you (so only say my name) - another smutty fic, this time it's pure smut. dunno where it goes yet, mostly because i just have the smut, i don't have the story around it built yet, but it lives here for now
with every sin i still wanna be holy - dan realizing he's tired being shitty and alone, and he would like to be a better person now pls. (also known as dan goes to therapy)
the weight of living - another dan centric fic where he gets out on parole and immediately starts causing problems for the specter squad. he's doesn't remember what it's like to live as a human, let alone a halfa, so there are some growing pains. angsty and comedic
jr/sr antics - a catch all for the last two years of their school. atm i think there's a couple of funny snippets that are now anachronistic because of IB things, but thats it
danny and mateo coreplay - uhhhhh i don't have an explanation for this one except blame the server
so shall it be - the beginning of the once more with feeling arc. angsty. sad. heartbreaking.
once more with feeling - emrys accidentally makes a wish and now the whole campus is stuck in a musical - and danny and mateo aren't handling it well
where do we go from here? - the end of the once more with feeling arc. angstier. sadder. heartbreaking-er.
here comes goodbye - the actual end of the once more with feeling arc and a recent addition. graduation! but make it heartwrenchingly sad!
hey there, shadow - the beginning of the kneel to the crown arc. smut. the kneel to the crown arc is basically just smut. i can't explain it, i don't make the rules.
misery loves my company - this may be a standalone or it may be part of "hey there, shadow" i haven't decided, but spectra gets her claws in mateo
my wish for you - danny makes a stupid wish and mateo suffers th econsequences - and when he finds out? he's livid. he and danny work out their anger. in ways. >.>
kneel to the crown - the culmination of the series that has too many spoilers so i can't even tell you what's in it. but it's a rom com. and it'll be great.
ghost king danny welcomes mom home - a phic phight fill i never finsihed that i want to work on
[anachronistic atm] - a series of friend date fics that mirror "such a big, big world" where danny spends time with the squad and i get mroe time to develop them
[anachronistic atm] - the haunt - sam wasn't kidding about opening a bronze style club in amity. that's all i've got so far, but i'll come up with something soon i think
non series au wips
danny grave fic or j13 origin - based on the song "johnny" by american murder song, it's either a "danny had to bury his body" fic or a johnny 13 origin fic, which i've already kinda started
danny stripper identity reveal fic - gray ghost fic, exactly what it sounds like lmao
dp as syfy's alice - this is based on this post by dreamwraith, actually, about the fallout from reign storm and the weird ambiguity of who was supposed to be king after. vlad takes it for himself (making him the queen of hearts) and the asserts his hold on the world, taking maddie as his king of hearts, making Jack the Carpenter... i have the whole character list written out now. it was originally gonna be everlasting trio but now i'm thinking it'd be a nice pitch pearl au. phantom as hatter?? sign me the fuck up
floral collab - paulina brings blood blossoms to class and danny's reaction causes him to reveal himself. one of a few reveal fics i have that i've just never finished
perfect - an angsty fic based on the song perfect by simple plan. i have a fic already titled after this song, but i want a truly angsty one where danny's reveal to his parents doesn't go so well...pitch pearl
tuck everlasting au - FUCK am i so excited to work on it. dark ages raised immortal phantom, plucky and naive danny, a tragic lovestory... i need invisobang to be over so i can work on this NOW
primeval crossover - british tv show from the same era as DP, deals with anomalies in time that bring them dinosaurs. the anomalies are actually portals in this au and the villain from primeval is the big bad danny was chasing that landed him and team phantom in london surrounded by men in black pointing guns at them. probably gonna be everlasting trio, which is new for me! i have dynamics written out, but that's about it
TUE but it happens bc danny says fuck - mostly crack but kinda wanna write it...
ghost light stripper au - danny is a stripper in this one and the specter squad takes mateo out for his birthday. pretty sure the plan is for this one to end in a one night stand that has them both addicted and suddenly they're kind of but not really dating while their friends just stare at the ceiling and pray for a braincell
ghost light ABO au - this one is also the servers fault. no i will not be taking questions at this time
in the shadow of your heart - my ghost light atlantis au 💖 it's already started and been posted, but i had to stop working on it for invisobang. i can't wait to get to work on it again. i've done so much work to make it logical to find the ghost zone and keep the atlantis bit of the au still close, it's gonna be great, promise
and they were history project partners UFS version - i wanted to turn one of my series au phic phight prompts into a UFS version because ti was there and if i hadn't already decided it was part of my au, i would've gone full fledged. (this one is red's fault 💖)
i'm not tagging 44 people, sorry, lmao but i will tag some of my favorite people 💖
@dreamwraith @cheezygoddess @pennerjones @i-think-in-metaphors @ectoplasmicsoda @redead-red @jadenoryuu @floralflowerpower
also u guys should totally send me asks about these because i love talking about my writing and i feel like i haven't gotten a chance lately with non-IB stuff 👀

「 ♤ WELCOME TO HELL!! ♤」
Hi! I'm Nugget/Ezra and I like to draw things sometimes, nice to meet you :D This is my main blog where I share my thoughts and my art.
My sharing side blog is @nuggets-showcase. (Nsfw blog you'll have to message me for).
This is my LinkTree!! If you need to find something (comics, stories, commissions) it's probably here!!
This is my Twitter and I am much more active there than I am here. Maybe if I get more interaction on this blog I'll consider posting here more but until then Twitter and Discord are my main places to post.
Gender is a mess so currently I use any pronouns, but put some effort into actually switching it up. If that's too hard then [they/them] is more than fine.
《|| Tagging policy here ||》
I'm into a ton of different things, including but not limited to: The Owl House, Steven Universe, Star Trek (specially Voyager but I love TNG too), Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, Pokémon, Rick and Morty, ATLA/LOK, and Magic: The Gathering. Currently MTG and SU are the things eating my brain alive right now but I really wanna branch out, so if you make or share content for anything listed above then don't be scared to @ me so I can give you a follow.
I'm neurodivergent af and royally screwed in the memory department so don't feel too offended if you try to ask or tell me something and I've got no clue what the hell you're going on about. Just give me a gentle reminder.
I don't have a DNI. People who often end up on lists like those also do not give a rat's ass about respecting them, so as long as you're chill in my blogspace then I don't really care what you do in yours. I do bite but only if you bite first... so I guess, to be more accurate, I bite back. Don't test me.
That being said: Do not mistake me not having a DNI list as support for whatever stupid and/or fucked up bullshit you're into. This blog is my safe space, not yours, and I'm not gonna actively defend or protect you for being fucking gross or shitty, and I'm not going to censor myself to make you comfortable. If that's a problem for you then the back button is in the upper left corner.
That's all for now! Have fun looking around I guess :P

For the artist asks, 2, 11 & 18 :3
2. 5 favourites of your own work?
in no particular order:
pokesona, the stars are falling (not posted, will be posted with this years redraw), jewel's house, sleeping jewel, jewel's bedroom (also an extra bcuz i really like it but couldn't find the compressed file to put here: be back soon screen)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i have a lot of fun drawing my pokesona, it was drawn completely using vector lines which was unbelievably enlightening
the stars are falling was first drawn back in 2020 and has become a way for me to compare how my art has developed over the years. 2020 only featured Jason (he/him), 2021 only had Zero (ey/em), and 2022 includes the former two plus Cleo (she/her, but shes bigender and also goes by Liam he/him), 2023 will include Jason and Ambe (she/her). its a way for me to basically do a benchmark test on my composition and anatomy and colours and shading. i always have a lot of fun drawing it and sometimes making whole new brushes. important note: this one was actually submitted to an art contest, sadly i lost but it was actually my first time since elementary putting my art out with the intent to be judged.
jewel's house was my first time drawing and designing a house and finding different places to incorporate hearts was literally so much fun.
sleeping jewel is just super cute and jewel's bunny hoodie is my favourite thing ever. i have it on my phone and could stare at it for hours.
jewel's bedroom is ALSO a redraw. i enjoyed trying to fit so many things in it, i enjoyed sketching, i enjoyed lining, i enjoyed colouring. though this is actually my least fav of the 5 bcuz i fully believe the idea that your art is only as good as its weakest point. that's not to say its bad or that everyone will approach it as critically as possible. not even to say that everything needs to be perfect. but when i was rendering it, i didn't want to shade. so i took a funky brush and just rushed thru shading. in fact you can see that when watching the speedpaint, i just kinda scribbled the shading. HOWEVER that doesnt take away from the fact i think the rest of it is really well done. i think i did well on the bed in particular and the fact that i stylized a real bed that we own and my actual childhood bed that i would die to get back (we owned two, mine was lost when mum and dad had to abandon my childhood home bcuz of shitty roommates and a shitty landlord) i enjoyed drawing my actual stuffed animals and my actual lolita dress. it like actually has sentimental value bcuz of all of that i just wish i did it better.
11. favourite comment you've ever received on your work?
uhhhh so like i dont usually recieve comments on my work aside from my family's "wow i could never do that" soooo well go with the comment you left on my bunny hoodie design bcuz as far as i can remember iirc it was the first time id gotten a nice comment about my fashion designs and i was really happy someone liked it bcuz im like super nervous about my silly fashion doodles :)
18. do you have any larger projects you'd like to pursue? like comics, shortfilm, a series, etc?
yes! id like House Of Misfits to be a cartoon, tho the show would probably be lighter than the short stories bcuz i don't imagine i could explore Amber's backstory on screen. im making a proof-of-concept website which is technically online and more than 70% unfinished.
i also have a coming-of-age novel i need to do research for called Saftey Blanket about a hijabi girl named Aminah in her senior year of highschool (if i made it a series wed get to see her twin siblings realize they're trans which would be fun but rn they are but lil babbies), id like to make a children's cartoon and a visual novel but i don't currently have any ideas for either.
btw despite the fact that i am an animator, i don't want to animate a show. i want to run a show. i don't actually enjoy animations longer than maybe 10 seconds.
i have a side project based around the album A Constant State Of Ohio by Lincoln that would be a very personal project around self image while having multiple personality disorders (and other problems), but i cannot for the life of me make an animatic. there's lots of ideas like this jostling in my brain, like a stop-motion animation of Through The Roof n Underground by Gogol Bordello, where i just simply cannot which i am fine with.
then theres the fact i do actually want to sew my fashion designs, at least that bunny hoodie if nothing else, and i cannot get my hands on any fabric despite owning a sewing machine

Do you have any tips for small artists?
i have no idea what level of technical skill u have so these are some pretty general tips but here u go! these are also mostly focused on fanart lol cuz that's what i like to make.
number 1 rule of art is that people like art that is interesting!!! it's gotta make them feel something or they will ignore it!! i used to draw so much art that was just like, a character standing there doing nothing. and i would try very hard to have nice lineart and pretty shading and all that good stuff but in the end a character standing there doing nothing is boring. if you have really good technical skills, then some people will still be like "wow pretty art!!" or "so photorealistic! how cool!" but generally speaking it's gonna take soooooo long to actually reach that level of technical skill if every drawing u make looks like this 🧍. if you wanna improve fast, you're much better off experimenting with all sorts of types of art.
so, what do people find interesting? lots of things!
ship art is an easy way to make an "interesting" drawing, b/c people like ships and b/c you've got a character interaction happening there. even if they're just leaning on each other or holding hands or something, there's personality in that. even when i was really shitty at art i always noticed that my ship art got more notes than art of just 1 character.
in general, character interactions always make things more interesting. u certainly don't have to only draw romantic ships--draw some characters who are friends hanging out and having fun, or draw characters who are family hugging each other, or something. or draw people fighting!!! if you're not yet used to drawing characters interacting, it can be a bit of a pain at first, but it opens up so many fun possibilities (and reference photos can always help you!! google images is honestly the best of all resources for that lmao although more specific stuff like adorkastock is great too).
even without character interactions, u can make drawings that try to evoke an emotion of some sort. dark and angsty? lonely? happy and cute? this is one of my favorite drawings ever and i think it's super, super visually interesting and tells a story without the need for more than one character or any sort of words/dialogue, just from the pose and the background and the whole vibe of it. it feels so peaceful and lovely. of course, it makes a difference that this artist clearly has a lot of technical skill, but if this same artist drew a picture of aang looking like 🧍 on a boring white background i would definitely not love this art nearly as much lol.
screenshot redraws are also pretty popular!! personally i would strongly advise that if ur gonna redraw a screenshot, you should be adding something interesting to your version. if you colorpick the exact same colors from the drawing and try to copy the style as closely as possible, it's a little boring, right? why would i want to see the exact same picture twice? one artist who does screenshot redraws really well is viorie (who i think has removed/deactivated a lot of her stuff, thus the repost, sorry):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like this is very clearly an artist that had something of her own to bring to the screenshot she was redrawing!! that's what makes it cool, appealing art, even though it's "just" a redraw.
and of course my absolute favorite thing to make drawings "interesting" is to make comics. comics are the best!! u get to draw a whole story!!! lots of types of comics that you can make, too. a lot of the comics that i've made lately are my own writing and tend to be more serious, but if you're looking for something easy, fun, and simple, try drawing incorrect quotes or make art/comics that are based off of other people's posts, fics, or ideas that you thought were really cool (w/ appropriate credit obviously).
on that note, drawing fanart for other people is especially effective for putting yourself out there because it's often hard to get your foot in the door on social media when you literally have 0 followers and no one is seeing your stuff. you draw something for a popular fic writer or a humor blog, they're happy because they've gotten fanart and they reblog your art, you're happy because now all their followers are seeing ur stuff. lol this sounds so transactional but it's really a lot more fun than it sounds. make art for other ppl! make some friends! join discord servers, join group chats, comment nice things on other peoples' work, & check out fandom events, like big bangs or ship weeks or whatever. it's good stuff.
also, use different social media. it might seem like what tends to be popular in one corner of the internet is gonna be pretty well-received everywhere else but that's not always the case lol. tumblr, for example, usually puts a lot of emphasis on consuming content "from a fandom" rather than consuming content "from an artist"--it's hard to build an individual brand, people just want More Insert Popular Fandom Content and don't really care who it comes from so long as it fits a certain type of art; in my case, atla is a way more popular show than lok, so my atla art gets significantly more attention than my lok art does, despite the fact that i don't make that much of it. on the other hand, on instagram, people really like my lok/red lotus art because that's sort of my "brand" and my atla art tends to get less attention. (this works out for me because i like lok way better and i also have way more followers on instagram than i do here.)
& ofc when you talk about becoming a "popular" artist... i mean, i'm not gonna be the person who tells u "oh you should ONLY be doing this for yourself!! if you're doing it for attention you're doing it all wrong!" because obviously i love attention and i love making art that people like. i would not draw nearly as much if i didn't have fun sharing it! but if you let yourself get too sucked into the idea of making "popular" art, you're gonna feel super drained and fucked up and you eventually will burn out hard (ahaha.............). there's a balance to strike between "i'm making this art because it's fun" and "i'm making this art because i know people will like it." on tumblr, my atla art is way more popular than my lok art, but i don't care abt atla nearly as much as i care abt lok, so i'm never gonna like, make an in-depth comic about the atla main cast the way i have for the red lotus, the lok main cast, and kyoshi. what a waste of time! even when you're looking for advice about how to become a "big" artist, ultimately, you've gotta make the art that's fun for you, and with luck you'll eventually find an audience that also enjoys that type of art.

Gastrophobia (2008)
as of March 2022
⭐️⭐️⭐️
There are lots of things I really like about Gastrophobia. I wish I enjoyed reading it more.
I find the art style constantly charming and nice to look at. The chibi characters with simple shapes are really up my alley. I really like the crass, anticlimactic humor and I have quite a bit of affection for the cast of shitty people.
I love Phobia as a sexy meathead and a sassy mom who has no real skills but charges straight through every obstacle. I want to see more of Gastro/Pepsia as a sensitive black sheep baby bard. I find Klepto extremely charming as a grumpy, intelligent guy with the edge of male privilege palpably absent due to his utterly subordinate caste. Mania is a delightful unkempt, uncanny woman who feels like an extremely kind disaster waiting to happen. And I love Philia cause she's such a pain.
My favorite moment for Mania as trans representation was when she gave Philia a big hug and offered to be her mommy. Seeing her as a comfortable presence and a physically approachable provider of affection made me feel good.
I think when I am reading the comic I just don't get very much of what I like.
I think the core premise of Gastrophobia is weird comedy and maybe drama about these oddball characters in an exaggerated, morbid greek myth playground. As I read the archives, I kept feeling like the stories about this premise were in danger of being outnumbered by stories that veered off into a gimmicky, self-aware tangent. Sometimes it's AU episodes, sometimes it's video game or cartoon references, sometimes it's finicky lore explanations, sometimes it feels like the writing needs to make fun of its own tropes every other line. These are great as sideshows, but by the end I felt as though I'd read lots of self-referential paratext and very little of the "main comic" Gastrophobia.
More important than any of that, though, is how much I love Trivia the Sphinx. She is so cute and smart. I would marry her. It's funny that Trivia's lectures on dreams are the only pages Daisy says she doesn't like in her caption, because the line "Okay, now see how I dropped my original thesis and went off on some vaguely-related tangent? Dreams are kinda like that." is my most funny and memorable line of the comic. She makes some of my favorite expressions there too.

1/4 hi, it's me, anon who made you feel old (sorry about that - if it makes you feel any better, i never got to experience the joys of a shitty flip phone)! i'm not sure if you like people replying to your answers but i have exactly no-one to talk to about the oc so i hope you don't mind :) i really enjoyed reading your thoughts, and they made a lot of sense - especially the shift in the characters when harbor becomes a major setting, which i hadn't thought about before at all!
2/4 also, i think that, in hindsight, you're right about ryan not talking much in the first episodes, either, but here's what i noticed: in the first few episodes, he might not talk much, but he has these moments where he suddenly does talk a lot (for him), whereas later in the series, he mostly just gives short yes-no-uh-huh answers.
3/4 but even just in that first episode, we've got ryan spilling his backstory to marissa, and earlier, the social security speech. the latter of which is a whole thing on its own - i mean, i don't think we ever, or barely, get to see him show off knowledge (or just... random facts like that) in that way. honestly, i think this just boils down to me wishing we got to see more of the characters' hobbies/interests/just what they did for fun aside from hanging out.
4/4 marissa was social chair, but we barely got ot witness her doing that kind of stuff; ryan deciding he wants to be an architect is only mentioned every now and then. i dunno! either way, that's all from me, i hope you have a nice day :)
Hi there Anon - you are 100% welcome to respond to any answered asks, that’s how the marissa discourse operates! Sometimes it takes me a while to get around to my inbox, and I don’t answer asks in the order I receive them, but I always appreciate asks and make it a point to answer all of them eventually (unless Tumblr deletes the contents of my inbox).
Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think what you’re getting at it is the kind of meta-reality of television which is that, over time, certain specificities of various characters can become dulled, as the writers (and viewers) become increasingly familiar with them. In the earliest episodes of the show, the writers are still very much in exposition mode regarding Ryan, Seth, Marissa, so they have to feed the audience information that isn’t necessarily part of “the plot”...like Ryan is interested in architecture and Marissa likes punk music. But as the show moves forward, it’s not as necessary to share that kind of information because the audience has a good grasp of who the characters are. In the case of Ryan and Marissa specifically, I grant you that Schwartz and the writers didn’t really view their interests and hobbies as anything more than vague plot fodder...Seth and Summer less so, as obviously Seth’s comic book passion makes up a huge part of S2 and Summer’s interest in activism forms a big part of her arc in the later seasons. Marissa does a decent amount of social chair activities in S2, but the show is always so confused about whether or not she has any real passion for that kind of thing. To be fair, I think the main focus of a teen soap should obviously be the emotional drama as opposed to, like, specifically nailing down what everyone is doing after school, but especially in the later seasons, The OC does lose some of the specificity and grounded-ness of its first season.
I hope you are enjoying a safe and merry end to 2020 🌻

I don't know jack shit about homestuck but here you go! 3, 27 and 74! (I hope the questions apply to you) Oh and also 40 because I like when you ramble about ships even if I don't know those ships! ^3^
The 100 Homestuck Asks!
3 - How many times have you read HS?
It’s hard to count, I guess? I started reading it once and had to stop after the Cascade (about halfway). Then I re-read the first half to ‘get it’ when I read about the Alpha Kid’s session and finished the whole thing. Then I often worked with a YT queue of ‘Let’s Read Homestuck’ playing in the background. And I also often jump in and read a page or a hundred when my friend who is currently reading the whole thing for the first time reminds me of something awesome. So... Personally, fully, with my own two eyes with no breaks (that was a mighty binge, I tell you)? Once. Overall... hard to tell.
27 - Favorite carapacian?
I’d say The Mayor, because everybody loves the Mayor and the Mayor deserves all the love. I do also have a weakness for the Windswept Questant (White Queen) because her design is very pretty.
74 -  Earth C headcanons?
Everybody lived happily ever after, the end. Also, this was only the first planet they inhabited, later on, they traveled further to explore their new Universe. Good shit, good adventures, good fun.
40 - BROTP?
Ho boy. You like me ranting about ships and you picked one of the topics I can rant about A LOT.
Dave & Rose - they behave like siblings, squabble, talk shit, whine about each other, but despite that, both are ready to maul a bitch for the other AND die to keep the other one alive. 11/10.
Dirk & Roxy - they gave each other a hard time but boy if I don’t love how deep their pride and respect goes when it comes to one another. Especially since they grew up in similar circumstances and GET each other in ways that nobody else could. Good sibs again. Kick ass, chew gum, and have unhealthy coping mechanisms together.
Meowrails - at first I thought Equius was too overbearing towards Nepeta and that he was trying to keep her on ‘a leash’. But then I reminded myself that he kept her safe from the goddamn revenge spiral Vriska started and if Nepeta really wanted to do something, she would. I like the difference in height and personality between them. Nepeta being a very small, active, extroverted, and open one is a good balance for Equius’ big body and proper, stiff, and formal behavior. There are also those little things you notice like Nepeta having a blue tail, which meant Equius used his skills to help her with the Lioness life. Like how they’re usually shown together. Like how Equius trying to protect her while simultaneously knowing he’s too weak to keep her safe by his side, so he sends her away. Like how Nepeta was following him anyway and was ready to maul a mad clown because her moirail was hurt. All of it. I just really like them and I’m glad most of the fic writers always keep them together.
Dave & Dirk - jesus wept, that one long-ass talk between them at the very end of the story hit me so hard. Both of them talking about Bro, about Alpha Dave about how they grew up and what are their expectations of each other. This was one of the best convos in the whole thing for me. I wish I could see more of them, cause there’s so much good shit that can happen. Every fic with Dave and Dirk being good brothers in any older/younger configuration is A+ content for me.
John & Karkat - I know JohnKat is a very fun and nice ship and I don’t blame anybody for preferring those two as a romantic couple but... there’s something for me with them being close friends (or moirails, please gods, yes). They really had a very good relationship in the story, one that had a lot of buildup and growth. One of my favorite convos comes from their interactions. (hi karkat!) They are both leaders of their respective groups, self-proclaimed or not and they did work together (with a lot of help from Jade, that is) to figure out how to save everybody’s asses. They also seem to balance each other out, or at least John is a good balance for Karkat’s unending anger rants. Karkat is also a lot smarter than John and isn’t afraid to point out the other’s dumbassery, so there’s that. What also appeals to me in the idea of them being moirails is how it could be a lovely way to work through John “I Am Not A Homosexual” Egbert’s internalized masculinity stereotypes.
Now, let’s delve deep into the BROTPs that didn’t have much material in the comic.
Sollux & Dave - I didn’t give this pair any thought until I’ve read a few good fics with them being in a pale quadrant, and let me tell you... this shit’s good. Those two are assholes on the outside and would probably be the duo that annoys the everloving shit out of everybody in the close vicinity just with their banter. And I just think they’re neat.
Davesprite & Hal - those two would have hit it off immediately, even if only for being the fifth wheel in their respective “kids set”. Both seem more bitter than their ‘alpha’ counterparts. Both also seem more mature, due to being a bit older/wiser but also a little bit more broken. Both also got mighty forgotten by everybody which, not gonna lie, hurts me a lot. I have a lot of feelings about Davesprite and how much he went through and I also have a lot of feelings about Hal, who’s both a human stuck in the shades and an AI at the same time. I just wish to see the two interact and be bros they really need. They should be happy, dammit!
Roxy & Eridan - the scarf and sniper rifle duo! Ok, I love both of them because they are my comfort characters for various reasons and their stories hit home very hard, so I am mighty biased. But... They both have issues that seem to be polar opposites for the most parts and I really dig the idea of them moirailing the shit out of each other. Roxy being a very open person who is first to make friends would have no issues with befriending Eridan “Water Asshole” Ampora any time of the day. And I think he needs somebody who would listen to him properly and attack him with too much love at any waking moment but also somebody he would have to be actually responsible for. Also, like I said, both are snipers who also use another extra specibi, so I think they would make a lovely power BROTP.
Also, I do love the idea of Eridan painting Roxy’s nails because she never could get it right herself because she was either drunk or running with pumpkins and the polish looked shitty immediately after she applied it.
Ok, that’s about it when it comes to the BROTPs from the top of my head. Thank you for your ask!
