I started playing and watching the Mystery Case Files series and I wanted to make my own Master Detective OC. From what I’ve seen from the game series is that the Master Detective is possibly a female, but I also wanted to draw a male version as well.

I Realized Something That Makes Me Feel Like An Idiot For Not Realizing It Sooner...

It's Concerning Charles' Death/Defeat In Return To Ravenhearst & Then His "Miraculous" Reappearance In Escape From Ravenhearst. It's Easily Explained If You Pay Attention To Certain Details. One Detail In Particular Is The Letter Charles Wrote To Emma.

This Letter Right Here From Return To Ravenhearst. Let's Break It Down So It'll Make Sense.

The First Paragraph, Charles Is Asking Emma To Forgive Him For Killing Her Or Rather Assuming That She Eventually Will Forgive Him. He Also Notes That He Will Bind Her To Him, This We Know He Did So Using The Soul Machine.

The Second Paragraph, Charles Tells Emma That She Won't Have To Worry About Being Alone Because He Will Eventually Kill Rose & The Twins As Well, Which He Did, & Their Spirits Would Join Her As Part Of The Soul Machine Used To Keep Him Alive & Keep Their Souls Bound To Him.

The Third Paragraph, Charles Mentions That The Locks Will Keep Them Bound To Him But They Won't Last Forever & Will Eventually Rot Away But He Has A Way Of Preventing This. The Way He Does So Is By Using The Machine To Pass Between The World Of The Living & The Spirit World Or As He States "Remain Within The Void." He Uses The Souls Of Rose & The Twins Who Are Bound To Him To Traverse The Path Between So He Can Spend Time With Emma In The Spirit World, Who Is Also Unfortunately Bound To Him & Therefore Unable To Move On.

The Fourth Paragraph Mentions Victor, Who Charles Tasks With Taking Care Of The Upkeep On The Manor. Victor Obviously Has Used The Machine As Well, Considering He Has Lived Over 100 Years, Taking Care Of The Manor For His Father.

And The Final Sentence, Charles Gifts Emma The Locket.

Now, Here's How This Detail Makes Charles' Reappearance In Escape From Ravenhearst Make Sense.

In Ravenhearst, The Detective Finds The Pages Of Emma's Diary & In Doing So Figures Out What Charles Did & Frees Emma's Soul From Charles. Though The Attachments Cannot Be Seen, It Can Be Assumed That Emma Was Also Hooked Up To The Soul Machine, Which Is How Charles Had Bound Her In The First Place. It Is Also Possible The Locket Played A Part In The Bounding Of Her Soul Because The Spirits Can Use It To Help The Detective In Escape From Ravenhearst.

In Return To Ravenhearst, The Detective Goes Back To The Manor After Finding Out Charles Was Still Alive & Rose & The Twins Were Still Trapped. Using Her Intuitive Skills, The Detective Manages To Also Free Rose & The Twins From Charles & Shut Down The Machine. However, Shutting Down The Machine Essentially "Kills" Charles Because The Souls That Were Keeping Him Alive Are No Longer Bound To Him & Shutting Down The Machine Causes It To Combust, Destroying The Manor & The Complex Beneath It With Charles Inside.

But He Comes Back In Escape From Ravenhearst... How Is This Possible You Ask? Let Me Explain. When Charles Realizes What Has Happened, He Calls To Victor & Orders Him To Use His Time Machine That Is Nearby To Travel Back In Time.

Victor Travels Back To 1895, The Year Charles Kills Emma & Traps Rose & The Twins, & They Hatch A New Plan. They Start Building The Trap For The Detective In Addition To The Original Plan Of Trapping Emma, Rose & The Twins, Victor Having To Avoid His Past Self At The Same Time.

When The Time Comes To Pass Once Again For Charles To Be Defeated, How Is He Not? He Never Was. When The Detective Shut Down The Machine, It Essentially Cut Off His Means To Pass Between The Living World & The Spirit World, Trapping Him As A Spirit. Then When Charles & Victor Created The Soul Machine 2, Charles Was Granted A Physical Body, Using The People They Kidnapped To Do So, Also Eventually Using Those People To Resurrect Emma, Rose & The Twins & Luring The Detective Into The Trap.

So Charles Manages To Come Back Cuz He Never Really Died. He Was Just Trapped As A Spirit When The First Soul Machine Was Destroyed & Was Granted A Physical Body Again With The Help Of The Second Soul Machine, Created After Victor Went Back In Time.

This Also Explains How Charles Dies For Real In Escape From Ravenhearst. He Is Physically Alive & Not Traversing Between Anymore.

I Feel Like An Idiot For Not Realizing This Sooner. I Guess It's Time To Get On The Ball On Playing The Series Again So I Can Get To This Point.

I saw a post about Megure and Takagi talking about the over-saturated amount of detectives strolling around Tokyo in Detective Conan. I think OP counted like 15 of detectives and then noted that Conan was responsible for at being at least 5 of them (Conan, Shinichi, Kogoro, Sonoko and Agasa).

And like yeah, sure there are a bit too many - but mostly because of spiders georg here being so good at solving crimes that he needs 5 aliases in order to not stand out as much.

Hi, what do you think of the latest chapters, especially the school case? Are there any hints regarding the plot? Do you think Maria is a suspicious girl?

File 1110-1112 Review

There were multiple hints/developments regarding the main plot in this case.

For starters, we had Gosho finally giving us a clue to the state of the shrunkies body when it comes to aging. Conan questioned why he didn't grow a centimeter every time his height got measured (File 1110), which Haibara deflected to answer by playing it down.

This is as good of a confirmation as any that Conan, Haibara & Mary cannot age in their shrunken state like Vermouth, which not only implicates Vermouth further to have taken a variant of APTX in the past but also that the shrunkies have to take the antidote by the end of the series to regain a normal life back.

Another part that caught my interest is the fact that Gosho used specific yen numbers in association with Haibara & Maria in the case, that had interesting potential to be chapter easter eggs that could be serving as foreshadowing/references to Haibara & Maria. Haibara was gonna pay 258 yen & Maria was gonna pay 302 yen.

If you look up the which chapter these numbers correspond to, Haibara's is a reference to desperate revivial case, where she completed a prototype antidote for the first time and was questioned whether she was gonna take the antidote or not (File 258).

Maria's is a reference to Sunset mansion case, where the Boss of the organization Karasuma Renya was first introduced (File 302).

This is the second time Maria has been indirectly associated with the Boss of the black organization, seeing as her reintro (File 1006-1008) was the same case that revealed Karasuma Renya to be the Boss of the black organization.

It looks like it's by design that Gosho dropped these antidote easter eggs for Haibara, just after teasing the idea that Haibara can't age normally, as well as these continued Karasuma Renya easter eggs for Maria. It's hard to say in the current stage what future awaits Maria (especially if there is any connection to Karasuma), but there are handful of clues to that she is more than your average side character, just by the nature of her characterization (her name, english influence, being the next transfer student after Haibara).

The following chapter potentially gave us the awaited answers to the mysterious Kohji case uploader. Yusaku reveals the suspicions that Wakasa was behind the Kohji case info uploads, and that she monitored the IP address of PC:s that entered the website, which in turn lead her to Conan who used Agasa's PC (File 1111).

This part seemingly resolves the mystery behind the Kohji case uploader, however, it doesn't fully resolve/explain why Wakasa set her eyes on a random curious kid, or how she realized his true competence/value to the point of joining an elementary school. I think this part of Yusaku's suspicions could be complimented with the idea of Asaka having sources that directly confirmed Conan as a valuable asset/player against the organization (i.e Kir, if Asaka is a CIA agent).

Yusaku then started to warn Yukiko about the possibility of Asaka being the type who would go through any lengths to achieve her goals (File 1111), which Gosho seems to wanna emphasize a lot to clarify her character type, as seen even with Rum's subordinates mentioning her potentially using teachers and kids as shields from bullets (File 1112).

Yusaku then proceeded to analyze her motives for staying in Teitan Elementary for as long as she has, which was also questioned by Rum (File 1112), only to be revealed at the end of the resolution chapter that it'd because of her fixation on Haibara.

The rest of the case had very heartwarming stuff with the kids and their parents (especially Haibara & Agasa), including a unique twist where Haibara ended up becoming the culprit of a relatively harmless act, which was refreshing.

We also got to properly meet Maria's mother for the first time, who resembles her quite a lot (apart from having black hair like a full-blooded japanese).

We have had clues to Maria's foreign blood through not only her foreign name and light hair colour but also the showcased english influence when her grandma called the bird toy "bird-chan" (File 1007).

The fact that her mother doesn't seem to have foregin features could be an indication that Maria inherited the foreign characteristics from her father. There is therefore room for the possibility that Maria's father is an important foreigner/non-full-japanese character in the main plot. In which case, a mysterious foreigner-looking character that comes to mind that could fit that role is the driver of "Vader" (respirator elder), who recently got a keyhole feature for Volume 103.

Even if Vader ends up being Haneda Yasuharu (Kohji's father), we have no guarantee that the driver is a good guy. For all that we know, the driver could be Maria's father who is connected/related to Karasuma Renya himself (which would explain the potential easter eggs to Karasuma in recent Maria cases).

You woke up with a weight on your chest, held in a tight embrace. Blonde hair was splayed across your body. Chuckling, you ran your fingers through William´s hair. He mumbled something into your chest and nuzzled even closer to you, still fast asleep. Soft puffs of breath left his lips, and you could spot a dust of pink over his cheeks. He had been working a lot lately, and, you supposed, now his stress had finally caught up with him. He was exhausted, very much so, and you doubted that he would leave the bed today. You also doubted that you would be able to leave, considering the tight grip he held you with. But you didn´t mind. The days were colder now, so staying in bed a bit longer with your love sounded just right.

“Oh, thank goodness,” you sighed when you stepped into the warm café. “I´m definitely getting a warm drink.”

Yosano giggled. “Your fingers a so cold too, even though I´ve been holding them for the entire time.”

“I don´t know,” you whined as you rubbed your hands together in a futile attempt to make them stop tingling. “You´re the doctor, shouldn´t you know?”

“Oh, darl, I know plenty of ways to raise your blood flow, but I´ve been told before that my methods can be a little bit…unorthodox.” She had a teasing smile on her lips.

You flushed under the look she sent your way and looked to the side, effectively escaping her teasing, as well as coming face to face with the treats offered in the café.

“Akiko, look, they have our favourites.”

She giggled. “That´s why I wanted to go here.”

“Are you saying you were here without me already?” A gasp escaped you at her betrayal.

“No, Dear,” she caressed the top of your head, “Ranpo-kun told me about the Café, he was singing very high praise.” She reached out to take your hand in hers. “And, I only trust you more than the Masterdetective himself,” she hummed, leaning forward to press a kiss to your temple, before gently leading you to a table.

I've been replaying the Mystery Case Files series for over a week now. My favorites are Return to Ravenhearst, The 13st Skull, Escape from Ravenhearst and Fate's Carnival ^^ The newer games look kinda... off, and the series is pretty obscure, but it's still lots of fun! This guy is the detective protagonist of the series, his face is never shown, so leave it to your imagination

Hello MasterDetective, At the end of file 1090 when the car containing mysterious old man which you suspect to be Haneda Yasaharu passed, Everyone gave it a pretty long stare. Especially Conan, as it was shown to us that he kept on watching it even after it crossed him. Do you think Conan noticed something about it?

He might have simply taken note of its existence. If they show up again unexpectedly and he starts to suspect them, then he could for example refer to their first appearance around cops in Kyoto (File 1090), but I doubt he noticed anything valuable beyond that.
