Confession time:
I used to play Gardenscapes when I was younger. Not any of the mobile kind - but the desktop one that you could find on Big Fish Games.
It was a lot of fun and super relaxing to me at the time. I've never played Homescapes or anything, but I might revisit this someday just to see if it still holds up.

A post that isn’t Mystery Case Files related 😅
The characters are from a hidden object game called Dark Parables: The Red Riding Hood Sisters. The first drawing is Ruth and the second two drawings is Briar Rose.

Sometimes, especially back then, I watch playthroughs' of hidden object adventure games. Dana Knightstone, Awakening, Princess Isabella, Dark Parables, all those Big Fish games. I wonder if Big Fish is still around and making games right now?

Frogwares’ Sherlock Holmes Casual Games
The Mystery of the Persian Carpet was Frogwares first attempt at getting into the casual adventure and hidden object game market, even getting Big Fish Games as a publisher. For those unaware, Big Fish Games are the undisputed kings of the market, even to this day, and were major players in the huge casual game explosion on PC and mobile. Frogwares getting in on the scene makes sense, and they’d make two games under Big Fish Games’ banner. The first of them is…quite bad.

What playing Hidden Expedition: Everest does to a person
First playthrough: [focused solely on the hidden object scenes and puzzles] "There isn't much plot to this one. Just a lot of scattered, unrelated clues to pad out the play time and pretend to educate us about the world we live in."
Second playthrough: [notices the aliens in the background] "Wait... there actually is a story here, just barely."
Third playthrough: "THERE ARE SO MANY ALIENS THE MOUNTAIN IS CRAWLING WITH THEM! HOW WAS I SO BLIND?! ALSO IS THAT A VAMPIRE?!"
Fourth time, watching someone else's playthrough and taking notes: "How...did I skip over the yetis? Think of the implications!"

Out of interest, what are your favorite Big Fish Games? Mine are the Dark Parables and Christmas Stories: Collector's Edition series.

This character is Rapunzel from Dark Parables: The Ballad of Rapunzel
When I was watching a walkthrough and cutscenes from YouTube for references for this character I didn’t know there are different endings in the gameplay. It was enjoyable though.
I might work on her sister Belladonna soon 😊
