Soap adventures!! This is what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks, lol…and a lot more than what’s pictured here, actually. Lots of gifts and samples for friends and family! You can see I’ve been playing around with my Sahuldeem ideas (I think I’ll share the fragrance combos in a separate post for those), but also is now a good time to mention I’m playing Overwatch again after taking a break for a few years? Couldn’t resist using a few of my favorite heroes for inspiration. ;)
Anyway! Fun times! More to come (and candles, too). ^_^

Making loofah soaps for that extra scrub!
Melt and pour soap is all over social media right now and we want to participate! As cold process soap makers, what we're used to is VERY different. So huge respect to melt and pour creators who are much much better at this than we are.

Another recent creation: Dirt, But It Makes You Clean.
This soap smells exactly like a fresh bag of potting soil, but fret not-- the specks are finely ground coffee, which gently exfoliates as you wash. Also included are small pinches of sifted nettle leaf, sage leaf, and lemongrass.

Hey, I made a new tutorial video for these cute little donut soaps. All the ingredients as well as where I got them are over in the description of the youtube video. This was a fun project and it made a lot of cute little soaps.

🛑 Craft Fail Alert! 🛑
We all have those moments when our crafting experiments don't quite go as planned, right? Well, here's a little peek into one of mine! 👀
This bar of soap didn't turn out quite like I envisioned. But you know what? That's perfectly okay! Crafting isn't always about perfection!
(But if anyone knows what on earth happened to cause these weird little bubbles, please let me know! I've never seen this before!)

Eco-Friendly Beauty: Making Sustainable Melt and Pour Soap
In today's world, as environmental consciousness continues to grow, so does the desire for eco-friendly beauty and personal care products. As we strive to reduce our carbon footprint and minimize waste, it's no surprise that sustainable alternatives have gained popularity in the world of skincare and cosmetics. Melt and pour soap crafting is no exception, as it provides an excellent opportunity to create eco-friendly beauty products that are both luxurious and sustainable.
1. Eco-Friendly Ingredients
Melt and pour soap crafting offers the flexibility to select environmentally friendly and sustainable ingredients. When making your soap, you have the freedom to choose organic, natural, and ethically sourced components. Opting for organic oils and butters, such as coconut oil, shea butter, or olive oil, not only benefits your skin but also the environment. By using sustainably sourced ingredients, you can support responsible farming and production practices.
2. Biodegradable Packaging
In the spirit of sustainability, consider eco-friendly packaging for your handmade soaps. Many conventional soap products come in single-use plastic containers, contributing to plastic pollution. Instead, explore biodegradable or compostable packaging options, such as recycled paper or cardboard boxes, cloth bags, or reusable containers. By doing so, you reduce the environmental impact of your soap products and encourage eco-conscious consumer behavior.
3. Minimal Waste
Melt and pour soap crafting produces minimal waste compared to other soap-making methods, like cold process soap. The process involves melting premade soap bases and adding your choice of ingredients, colors, and scents. This simplicity minimizes the use of resources and reduces the waste generated during production. Plus, any unused soap scraps can be melted down and reused, further minimizing waste.
4. Reduced Energy Consumption
Melt and pour soap crafting typically requires less energy than other soap-making methods, like cold process or hot process. The energy consumption is reduced because you're not involved in the saponification process, which involves chemical reactions and heat. This makes melt and pour soap crafting an energy-efficient choice, aligning with eco-friendly principles.
5. Customization and Sustainability
Melt and pour soap allows for the addition of natural exfoliants, botanicals, and essential oils. Many of these ingredients can be sourced sustainably and ethically, further promoting eco-friendly beauty. You can experiment with various eco-conscious options, like crushed apricot shells for exfoliation or organic lavender essential oil for a soothing fragrance.
6. Reducing Chemical Additives
By crafting your own melt and pour soap, you have control over the ingredients used. You can choose to exclude common chemical additives found in commercial soaps, such as parabens, sulfates, and artificial fragrances. This not only benefits your skin but also reduces the release of harmful chemicals into the environment.
7. Support for Local and Small-Scale Producers
Melt and pour soap crafting provides the opportunity to support local and small-scale producers of soap bases and ingredients. By purchasing from these sources, you contribute to your local economy and often receive products with fewer miles traveled, which can reduce the carbon footprint associated with shipping.
In conclusion, eco-friendly beauty can be easily achieved through sustainable melt and pour soap crafting. By making thoughtful choices in ingredient selection, packaging, and waste reduction, you can create luxurious soap products that not only benefit your skin but also the planet. Embracing this eco-conscious approach to soap making is a small yet significant step toward a more sustainable and environmentally friendly beauty routine.

I didn't have time to share everywhere before rolling these out since I was on a pretty severe time crunch pre-vacation, but I have a whole mess of non-fandom MP soaps available now. Lots of fun scents and colors and such!!
