Arthur returns and is fasinated by everything, most of all: the new food.
Merlin and Arthur come back from the supermarket, which was an entire fiasco in itself, and Arthur rumages through all the bags and pulls out all the food he forced Merlin to buy because it looked good.
Arthur pulls out a jar and reads the label aloud: pea nut butter. Theyve managed to make butter out of peas??
Merlin: what? No, peanut. Its a nut. Like a chestnut.
Arthur opens the jar, with little struggle thank you very much Merlin and sticks his finger in it and pauses because Merlin is glaring at him: yes yes yes, I know, manner and all, but no one is watching
Merlin being internally panicked and holding several epipens that have materialised out of thin air: yes. Manners. Obviously

my dad said arthur is too scrawny for how he would've been in that era for a warrior realistically and I had to look this man straight in the eye and say "I'm gonna be honest, the historical accuracy is not even close to why I watch this show"

Okay you know what? No I'm not going without analysis of The Eye of the Phoenix.
"You must be Courage." "No, I'm Prince Arthur of Camelot."
Arthur is essentially courageous. He doesn't even recognise it for what it is. But when he's told explicitly that he represents Courage, he insists that he's only himself because his own self is courageous. He is essentially, innately courageous. And it's so normal to him that he doesn't even recognise it.

What pains me about watching Merlin is that you already know Arthur is going to die one way or another, be it in the Original Arthurian Legends or in Fate Series's adaptations to said Legends.
Arthur will ALWAYS Die, and it leaves him to be the Once and Future King.
