Would anyone like to read a dystopian apocalypse story inspired by the last of us, mw2, and metro 2033??? Is it okay to write an oc instead of a reader??? Idk how this works. Does tumblr have a place for whole novels instead of just x reader stuff?
I also plan to write for fandoms but this is my big pet project.
A list of what I write for;
The last of us
Metro
Call of duty (black ops and mw2)
Stranger things
I will eventually make a list on who I’m confident writing. I am a college student tho so please bare with me.
I think it’s worth commenting on the difference between the Fallout and Metro games. Both are post-apocalyptic games where former citizens of the United States/Soviet Union have formed their own warring factions for control, both feature factions that are analogous to political movements in their nations past and present. Many can be compared, Metro’s black line and the brotherhood of steel, the enclave and the brown line being controlled by the former government. I think both series are made around the same theme, not the end of the world, but the end of civilization, and the way people would react, the way people would try to rebuild. The main differences are cultural and regional - no fallout faction compares to the explicit communism of the red line. Most of metro is set in the Moscow metro, a huge cultural icon for the soviets, where so much of Fallout is set around iconic American landmarks, Washington DC, Las Vegas, national parks. Even the radioactive mutants are cultural - the packs of wild dogs in Moscow, the scorpions being a symbol of the west, the differences are fascinating, especially because the factions are so comparable. I firmly believe that Fallout is American Metro and Metro is Soviet Fallout.
It’s also worth noting that both games are stupid levels of fun to explore.
I finished Metro 2035 and with that the whole book series and god damn the first time i read these so much stuff went over my head i enjoyed and understood them so much more this time, they're very good. so yeah i got metro brainrot now
Dmitry Glukhovsky, writer of Metro 2033, now on Russia’s Wanted list
https://charter97.org/en/news/2022/6/7/501564/
I’ve been watching him on Twitter since the invasion started and he has been vocally against the invasion of Ukraine; and coordinating his followers to use a VPN. So its not surprising they’re after him now. From a fan of more than a decade...I hope he is somewhere safe.
Of course the Russian government doesn’t like someone who is anti-war, who writes about being anti-war, and inspired a video game series that stands as an incredible work of art. 4A Games has also gone on to include the Metro games in Ukraine charity bundles.
Do you think hunter ever went back to exhibition to tell artyom and sasha that he was alive? Or did they have to find out through disparate rumors, like how hunter learned of artyom's success
Hi thank you for the ask! I’m gonna be so for real with you I do not remember a lot from the second metro book.
From what I do remember, I feel like it would be more realistic (and true to the sort of stuff Glukhovsky writes) if Hunter doesn’t come back to exhibition. On the other hand, Hunter is a very determined and ambitious guy, even though he was beaten down a lot after the first book.
At the very least I’d say he would send messages to exhibition in whatever way he can, especially since he and Sasha were friends and he obviously saw potential in Artyom or he wouldn’t have given him his quest in the first book. I’m sure they’ve heard rumors and legends about him as well, though.
IDK WHY THE VID GOT WEIRDLY CROPPED AND THEN THE QUALITY DROPPED AND I RAAAHHH (i am making this for a school project, yes i will force the entire class to look at pavel)
