The end of Legacies has come, and to put it simply, I was not impressed.

To recap what did we get. The more important question, what did we get that we did not expect.

Half hearted mentions and explanations about Josie, check. With the added bonus of Hope mailing the weapon that can kill her? I feel the writers just put that in so if the show ever got renewed, or another spin off, or literally anything else, they can play ‘the super powerful weapon is missing and in the hands of bad guys’ card. Who the hell ships an all powerful red oak, god/Tribrid killing weapon in the mail? Bloody fucking take a day trip and deliver it in person, at least one Mikaelson owns a private jet she could borrow.

All the side ships and characters getting quickly endgame and happily ever after, including Finch becoming the alpha, Jed and Ben being happy after what ten episodes? And Cleo and Kaleb throwing in some possible spin off juice with happiness and a not fleshed out backstory, because there was no time. All of the above, check.

Alaric finally leaving the school after four seasons of pad parenting crap, check. With the added, stick me with continuity issues, of Hope and Alaric being super father daughtery. Seriously? I still don't understand what writer thought Alaric could be a father figure to Klaus’s daughter?

Mizzie finally getting together and getting a proper kiss, hell bloody yes check! With the added bonus, of an unexpected interruption curtesy of Caroline Forbes finally appearing, that is technically unexpected, expect I guessed it the second Mizzie’s lips touched.

And finally, a Klaus ‘cameo’ that is so painfully awkward and shoehorned in I would have rather had a Steroline or Delena reference, check.

Congrats Legacies, you ended as you began, predictable, painful, continuity challenged, and filled with too many characters to ever have a satisfying 42 minutes ending for.

The only bright spot in the tunnel of darkness, Caroline Forbes is the last vampire standing, now running the Salvatore school, with her secret Klaroline love child daughter, Lizzie, the Heretic; Lizzie’s darling sweet vampire, Klaroline parallel, best friend to lovers, boyfriend, MG; and Caroline’s darling honorary step daughter, Hope Andrea Mikaelson, the one and only Tribrid.

Got give a round of applause Legacies, You may have destroyed Klaus Mikaelson’s character to the point of retconning, but at least you finally woke up and gave Caroline Forbes the ending she deserved after years of trauma, abuse, and never being the one.

(Honorable mention to Lizzie, MG, and Hope who all got the happy ending they deserved as, at least in my headcannon, Caroline’s council of bad asses who will always protect her and each other.)

A/n: not quite sure how this rewrite is going honestly, i have plans for season 4

A banging at the door woke you up, leaving you to spring awake as you glanced over at the door.

"Yo, Y/n, come on, Landon and Cleo robbed a museum last night, we're gonna go check it out!" Kaleb shouted, not even asking if you wanted to come, instead he expected it.

"Sure, just let me get ready!" You replied, climbing out of bed and looking around for some clothes. You really needed to do some laundry.

"Where even are the washing machines here?" B/m/n enquired, ignoring the strange looks that Nora and Mary-Lou were giving her in that moment in time.

"Aren't you three a little young to be detectives?" The museum staff member asked, frowning as he looked between Kaleb and MG to you, as you kept a blank face.

"Those sunglasses..." B/m/n facepalmed, noticing the funny glances the three of you were giving, even as you were not wearing a pair indoors like MG and Kaleb were.

"I'm an intern." You explained, as MG and Kaleb looked at each other.

"This is our first case, so please, help us crack it. Are these the two perps that you encountered?" MG asked, producing a photo of Cleo and a photo of Landon to show the staff member.

"That's them! She stole the sculpture, and he, he beat the crap out of me. I'll never forget their faces." The staff member pointed at the photos, hesitating as he recalled what had happened last night.

"The fallen chicken changed in the prison world, doesn't make much sense but who am I to argue? We're ghosts after all." Mary-Lou commented, folding her arms in boredom.

"Well, sir, you're about to." Kaleb replied, stepping forwards and removing his sunglasses so he could compel the staff member, whilst you and MG walked further into the museum to examine where the sculpture was that Cleo stole, and what information there was about it.

Rolling your eyes, you blanked out MG and Kaleb talking as you read over the information on the sculpture Cleo stole.

"Huh, it was a sculpture of a anatomical heart." You murmured, before MG tapped your shoulder, revealing the motel card.

"Sweet, let's go!" You smiled, following Kaleb and MG out of the museum to head to the motel.

"What car did they take? The vampire's car he received from Santa only has two seats." Nora pointed out, leaving Mary-Lou to bit her lip, unsure of how to answer, and B/m/n just shrugged, not having looked at the vehicle that you, Kaleb and MG were travelling in.

"We've got about an hour before we see Cleo, you better plan out what you're gonna say." MG smiled, turning to Kaleb as the three of you drove to the Morning Bird Motel.

"Oh god." You shivered, feeling ill for a moment.

"Yo, you good?" Kaleb turned around, raising an eyebrow, "you're not gonna puke, are you?"

"Pretty sure Lizzie's trying to figure out who can be Hope's rebound, and she called herself and Josie Hope's best friends, so I'm slightly offended." You explained, running a hand down your face as MG gave you a sad look.

"Slightly?" "Did she just friendzone herself on Hope's behalf?" "What the hell does 'friendzone' even mean?" Your mothers argued between each other.

"Look out!" MG shouted, pointing towards the flaming car crash on the side of the road. Kaleb said something about ambulances not having arrived but you didn't listen, getting out of the car and hurrying over to try extract the injured from the crash.

"She didn't even hesitate." "Not everyone revives like our daughter does, my beloved."

"We're going to be late, and we stink of car crash... but hopefully those people will be okay." You admitted as the three of you got back in the car to head to the motel, trying to ignore how much the smell of car crash made you want to break down and cry.

Nora and Mary-Lou exchanged sad looks, recalling their deaths as they spotted the tears in your eyes.

"Hold up, weren't you supposed to talk to somebody?" MG asked, leaving your face to fall as you glanced at your ring, the crystals as dark as the night Kaleb was driving through.

"Fuck, Malivore ate Cleo! Floor it, Kaleb, we need to get back to the school!" You shouted, leaving MG and Kaleb confused, but Kaleb did what you said, speeding up to hurry.

"Her memories are no longer being taken when Malivore erases a person?" "Her angel magic is that strong." "There's something I should have mentioned... I don't think angel magic is the correct terminology." B/m/n admitted as Nora and Mary-Lou discussed with each other about your powers.

"Hope? What the hell happened? Malivore got Cleo?" You asked, hurrying over as Hope froze, tense as you pulled her into a hug.

"Turns out Malivore was Landon the whole time." Hope brushed off, but the deadness in her eyes left you looking at her worriedly.

"What?" "Makes sense, the mop head was too willing to abandon Hope, as much as he is an irritation, he's loyal." Mary-Lou admitted, leaving Nora to quirk a brow in amusement.

"Hope..."

"I need to do the spell to bring everyone's memories of Cleo back." Hope explained, heading towards her room as you followed.

"Remember what I told you once? Don't go where I can't follow." You reminded Hope, sitting on her bed as Hope set up the spell.

"Odd time to bring that up." "It's Y/n, what do you expect?"

Pulling your knees to your chest, you watched as Hope conversed with the twins, eyes widening as Hope asked you and the twins to come with her.

"Where are they going? Oh." B/m/n realised, recognising the corridor that they were walking down.

The gymnasium was in sight as Alaric, MG and Kaleb joined the three of you, the doors opening to reveal Malivore!Landon shackled and in a cage, smirking at you all.

"Well, this looks like a party." Malivore snarked, watching as Hope stepped towards the cage.

"We want our friends back." Hope declared, glaring as Malivore dropped the chains he was holding, stepping forwards to confront Hope.

"There's something I want too. Fate's a bitch, isn't it?" Malivore smiled, darkness in his eyes as Hope kept her face blank.

Folding your arms, you felt your chest tighten, glaring at Malivore but his eyes stayed on Hope.

"This isn't going to end well, is it?" "Like Malivore Landon said, fate's a bitch."

a/n: this was a request from a lovely anon :) i had a lot of fun writing it so i hope you all love it! i'm still pretty new to writing explicit content so bear with me!! (i'm also obsessed with naming my fics after songs, this one is by caroline polachek and i feel like it fits the bill)

pairing: hope mikaelson x fem!heretic! reader

warnings: smut (18+), dirty talk, lots of praise including use of "good girl"

"how the fuck did you do that?," y/n asks, exasperated. her girlfriend, hope, had just performed the most intricate spell she had ever seen.

"here, i'll teach you," hope responds, going through the spell again, step by step, explaining thoroughly to y/n.

"you're so cute when you get into explaining something, but i'm still so confused."

"come on, you're a tough girl. i'll go through it again. you do it with me this time."

so hope performed the spell again, slowly so y/n could follow suit.

the first few times y/n attempted the spell, she just couldn't get it quite right.

it was frustrating, sure, but hope was right. y/n was tough. she wasn't one to show much emotion outwardly.

but hope could read her well. they hadn't been dating long, but hope had put effort into learning her girlfriend's mannerisms.

"hey, it's okay. you're doing so good."

y/n can't help the warmth that starts in her stomach and only moves downwards at hope's words. hope's naturally sensual voice never helps.

"let's try one more time. ready?"

and they do. hope leads the way, performing the spell slowly at first but gaining speed at the final steps. y/n continues mirroring hope's actions, and it's clear that she's gotten the hang of it.

"lecutio," they both chant, as sparks generate in both of their hands.

"look at you go, y/n! i'm so proud of you. you did such a good job," hope praises, taking y/n's hand in her own.

the feeling in y/n's body returns stronger this time, and she can't help the furious blush that comes across her face. she finds herself hoping that her girlfriend couldn't tell how her words were affecting her.

y/n's favorite part of her week was the "history of magic" class she shared with hope. the pair would always sit side by side, both dilligently taking notes on the course content while also slyly exchanging looks of admiration once in a while.

"does anyone remember the year "icaeus" became officially recognized as a spell?," the instructor speaks, scanning the room for willing students prepared to answer his question.

y/n raises her hand, much to hope's enjoyment. she admires her girlfriend's academic confidence, especially because many people see her as guarded and overly intimidating.

"around 3000 B.C.," y/n answers, not even referencing her notes.

"that's correct, y/n. someone's been paying attention," the instructor says through a smile.

hope leans closer to y/n until she's just inches away from her face. "damn, my girlfriend is smart. great job, beautiful," she says, smiling mischievously.

y/n has to physically stifle a sinful noise, although she manages to play it off with a playful eyeroll directed at hope. confident that hope didn't notice her initial reaction, she continues listening to the lecture of the day.

a wickery match was in full swing, an even mix of witches, werewolves, and vampires all happily participating, including hope and y/n.

not only is y/n tough, but she is also quite strong. nobody else in the game could throw the ball quite as far as she could.

after being passed the ball by kaleb, y/n realized she only had one possible move; throw it all the way across the field to a completely unguarded mg.

she knows it's not going to be easy, but doesn't hesitate to use every muscle in her arm to get it as far as she can.

to everyone's shock, the ball reaches mg seemingly effortlessly.

"holy shit! y/l/n, that was amazing!," lizzie shouts, her enthusiasm for the game obvious.

embracing the attention, y/n graciously recieves high-fives from the fellow players.

hope wraps her arms around her from behind, squeezing her girlfriend in an affectionate hug.

"you did so good today, y/n. i'm so proud of you."

this time, y/n whines. she hopes its quiet enough that hope doesn't hear it, but with her werewolf hearing, she's sure she must have.

y/n lays in her bed, several pages deep in a new novel when she hears a knock at her door.

"come in!," she shouts, almost certain she won't be surprised by who is standing in the doorway.

"hey honey, whatcha reading?"

it's hope, closing the door behind her and plopping into bed alongside her girlfriend.

"just this new fantasy novel. you know, like castles and shit."

"sounds like fun, but i think i'm more interesting."

nodding in agreement, y/n puts a bookmark in her novel and puts it on her nightstand. she lays next to hope, gently putting her head on her chest.

"can i ask you a question?," hope speaks after a few seconds of silence.

"anything," y/n responds.

"is there anything i say that... you know, has a particular effect on you?"

"effect on me?"

"yeah, you know ... something i do that.. you like?"

"i don't know what you're talking about."

y/n is lying through her teeth, and they both know it.

"i just happened to notice, you know, a pattern of behavior."

"what kind of behavior?"

"just, you know, some blushing. extra blushing. maybe even some interesting noises."

"fuck, you heard that?"

"oh, so you do know what i'm talking about."

"no!"

hope knew y/n wouldn't stop denying her desire for praise, and she knew exactly how to force the truth out of her.

"here, let me try something," hope says, looking y/n directly in the eyes.

"okay?" y/n looks directly back, although she is confused by hope's response.

"you are such a good girl, y/n," hope slurs, her voice sultry.

before hope can even register what is happening, y/n's lips are on hers, passionately moving against them.

"so i guess i was right then, huh?," hope teases when the pair finally separates to breathe.

"shut up, mikaelson."

"lay down," hope responds, y/n happy to oblige.

and hope does, stripping y/n naked in what feels like a matter of seconds.

Where Male Reader gets angry at a school game, where their not suppose to use their powers, so their playing as 'regular' humans, but then their rival team ending up winning the game halfway through by playing dirty. Landon tries to get the Male reader calm and relaxed, by ordering/getting their favorite food from The Grill, getting Male Reader's dorm mate away for the night, and having a small movie date there?? With a sweet little kiss at the end??

You never cared for the annual Salvatore prep versus Mystic Falls high flag football game, the biggest reason being that your childhood bully Michael from the rivaling school always took it as another opportunity to torment you.

Of course if you guys used your powers you could easily win the game but like every other year you made a promise to not use any powers and act like ordinary teenagers.

Before the game started Michael was talking trash as always and Landon tried to stand up for you but Michael just laughed him off, "good luck out there losers."

"God I wish we could use our powers to kick their asses," you huff.

"Don't let him get to you, he's just being a jerk," Landon says, taking your hand and guiding you back to your friends who are strategizing for the game.

When the game starts Michael and the Mystic Falls kids are so obviously playing dirty and by the second half of the match most of your team is on the bench with injuries.

During a play Michael literally knocks Landon to the ground without the ball being anywhere near him.

"What the hell! Do you seriously not see this? They are purposely hurting people!" You yell at the ref running to Landon and helping him up.

The ref shrugs and Michael grins, turning his back to you.

You're ready to lunge at Michael and start a fight but Landon holds you back.

"It's okay he's not worth it," Landon tells you but all you want is to get back at Michael for messing with Landon.

You shake it off and help Landon who is now limping get to the bench.

"If they hurt anyone else we are gonna have to forfeit, we are all that's left," MG states.

"Then we should just use our powers and beat them at their own game," you say angrily.

"I'm down for that," Kaleb quips.

"No guys we can't, we promised not to use our powers," Landon retorts.

"I'm with Y/N on this one," Lizzie adds, "if they want to fight dirty then so can we."

"You only say that because you want bragging rights over Dana," Josie says and Lizzie rolls her eyes.

"Landon is right, we can't use our powers no matter how irritating they are. We just have to get through the last quarter and be done with this stupid game," Hope sighs.

"Fine but if Michael hurts one more person I'm draining him of all his blood after the game," you threaten, everyone knowing you are very serious.

You begrudgingly make it through the end of the game, Mystic Falls high winning by 10 points and of course Michael rubs it in your face that they won once again.

You don't say anything to him knowing if you opened your mouth your fangs would surely come out to bite him right at his jugular.

Looking around you can't find your boyfriend anywhere which doesn't help calm you down.

"Hey, have you seen Landon?" You ask Rafael who was icing his shoulder after being knocked out in the second quarter.

"Huh, no I haven't seen him since he got hurt, maybe he went to the nurse," Rafael responds.

You head straight to the nurses office with no Landon to be found so you pull your phone out to text him.

'Where did you go??'

'Meet me at your dorm in fifteen minutes'

'Okay why?'

'It's a surprise'

You go to your dorm and wait for Landon to return, when he does he has bags full of food in his arms.

"Did you really go to the grill?" You say grabbing the bags from him as he's still slightly limping.

"Yeah well I knew you were upset so I snuck off during the last quarter and went to town to get your favorite for dinner. Plus I told your roommate to sleep somewhere else tonight so we can have a relaxing movie date," he explains, grabbing your laptop and setting it up on your bed.

"You are truly amazing, you know that," you say, wrapping your arms around his neck.

"I don't like seeing my boyfriend upset," he tells you, "I thought maybe this might cheer you up."

"I already feel so much better," you smile, kissing him sweetly, "now let's start a movie already and eat, I'm starving."

Legacies 1x04 Rewatch:

Just seeing all the comic book decor in MG's room makes me so sad that we never got to see him and Landon geek out together

The amount of (lame) TVD cameos in S1 was wild considering they did not keep that energy up

If I had a nickel for every time the Salvatore School made a fake exchange program with Mystic Falls High over a murder, I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice

"Who are you and what did you do with Hope Mikaelson?" Just you wait ...

The blatant use of TVD scenes for the exterior shots of MFHS and they couldn't even match the green filter of Legacies

Lizdon best friendism!!!

"Try not to deliberately alienate the entire student body." "I tried to be her friend when I was five and when I was nine and when I was thirteen." "I'm sorry we couldn't see why you were hurting back then." SCREAMING.

"Whatever spun this is gonna come back and eat us." We couldn't be that lucky. Imagine how much better the series would have been.

The S1 Core 6 did not get enough scenes together

THE MOMENT IT ALL CHANGED FOR LIZZIE. OH GOD OH GOD. HOLD ON TIGHT.

THINGS ARE SHIFTING.

"I'm a twin. I don't do anything solo." You just spent the entire episode without Lizzie because being a hero is too much pressure??? You spent the whole last episode apart from her too???? It's only the fourth episode?????

It's almost laughable how much Josie lies. Like every other word out of her mouth is straight up false and she knows it.

Still think Jed x Rafael should have had a thing.

I miss this Handon angst. THIS. THIS IS THE GOOD STUFF. Not the circular conflict they got stuck in later.

"Being a hero is not more important than being safe." This is your suicidal daughter, my dude. She does not care about being safe.

"She thinks she's too good to give you the time of day." Actually it's

"Don't disrespect her like that. We got enough monsters out here as it is. We cannot become one of them." MG YOU DIDN'T DIE THE HERO. YOU LIVED LONG ENOUGH TO BECOME THE VILLAIN. GOD DAMN IT.

Wait a minute. Josie was stuck in a spider web, almost dying, and Landon saved the day instead of Penelope Park making an appearance? Penelope would have never.

"If you threaten my kids, Sheriff, I'll be the one coming for you." No, maybe I get it. Maybe I do still get the attraction.
