Still thinking about the little detail of Godzilla’s first rampage among the sea of nameless background people fleeing you can constantly see characters desperately trying to pick up, carry or drag people who trip as they run

Sitting down to watch godzilla minus 1: aw fuck yeah, super awesome giant monster
Godzilla minus 1: Your past burdens aren't yours to bear alone. Leaning on the help of others is what allows you to move forward. You don't have to sacrifice yourself for the future, the future is something we all build together.

I wonder what gifts they gave him. Knowing this, it really makes me reflect on the fact that had the mechanics not panicked, Godzilla would have probably left. Shining the light on him must have startled him. He must have had a peaceful symbiotic relationship with the Odo Islanders.
It’s not impossible, I mean, 200 years ago there was a story about a pod of Orcas in South Australia that would help whalers, hunt whales by driving them towards their ships and in exchange the humans would give them food.
Perhaps MinusGoji had a similar thing. They’d exchange fruits or livestock in exchange for him bringing fish from the deep.
And then he got nuked which really fucked him off to no end and now he’s just an angry spicy iguana.
MinusGoji has more depth than we thought and I love that.

can I just say that minus one dividing the main godzilla theme in 2 parts -- the beginning part that plays starting from the halfway point of the movie whenever godzilla approaches, symbolizing the pure unstoppable terror, and the bridge which plays when the soldiers start making their move in the climax, representing their unwavering resolve to fight back-- is pure unadulterated genius
