I went over to the park and drew this view on a pre-colored page, using a kind of random assortment of mixed media tools I took with me—a handful of neocolor crayons, another handful of colored pencils, a few markers, a couple acrylic paint pens…what I realized is that even if you don’t do a great job of selecting a color scheme before you head out (I didn’t!) you still end up with a pretty nice limited palette because you have no choice but to use what you have! The page I started with (swipe to see, this is all acrylic ink) was a bit too dark, so that’s a lesson learned. Anyway this is all thanks to @ronkiponk’s excellent class on @domestika, but I also feel like I was putting into practice some of the things I learned from @marugodas’s class, also on Domestika. I had made this a while ago and I absolutely love this piece! It started off as a rough sketch practice but turned out to be a complete piece that I became so proud of! I even got this printed on a t-shirt!! *Surpriseeee!!*

Here's the t-shirt!! The print didn't come out great but I still loved it! It was my first one after all

I can't believe how this turned into this!

I was just random sketching while watching a video of JelArts. Her videos are super cool, really love them! And I was sketching along with her at 1 am :D

Woke up in the morning and got the sudden urge to get this one done into a full piece! And here it is!!

The first @wildlifewednesdaychallenge prompt for 2023 is a European mink which is a close relative of the European polecat and Siberian weasel. These critically endangered, semi-aquatic mustelids look softer, less murderous and cuter than the better known American mink.
