Today we have Falkus’s theme song!

At the beginning, the smooth piano is all about when he was a caring god. The piano gradually turns into electronic beats (untill 00:30) which is about the time when Falkus slowly lost his mind, began to realize the truth about his Elders, and had enough of being a selfless weapon.

From 00:33 to 1:07 he realizes that he wants his freedom no matter the cost.

From 1:08 to 2:03 we have the embodiment of his new chaotic nature.

From 2:03 to 2:30, Falkus learns that he can use this half-Metalrealmer as a weapon to execute his plans, but stealing her from Raiden is not an easy task, so it’s either a win or a loss for him.

From 3:20 to 3:46 (you may want to turn down the volume) we get another embodiment of his fucked up mental state lmaoo

For the "helping people name their OCs": My OC is a god. He's the god of all metals and is protecting a realm. (yes he's a mk oc) He's able to manipulate every kind of metal, and I want his name to be related to that. His previous name was Demiral which in Turkish means "Iron hand". The new name can have the same meaning. Since I also want his name to be unique, feel free to apply random changes to words.

I hope the information helps.

Hopefully I don't need to know mk (mortal kombat..?) lore to help in this. Also, God of metal, is one of the coolest concepts I've heard in a while now! Demiral "Iron hand" is, also, one of the coolest names! I applaud you.

If you'd be fine with a more "basic" name, Uranium or Mercury - which are types of metal, could also make for names! For word remixes/combos of the two, I present: Marconium (nickname could be Marco lol), Ercura, Mercu, Raecury

Antimony is one that I liked the sound of. From some brief searching, I found it to be the name of an element which is classed as a half metal. Maybe not as accurate but it's a cool word! If none of my suggestions are satisfactory I recommend just googling names related to metal.

For the different languages route, I present:

Ferro/Ferri (Italian for iron) or any remixes of the word (ex: Ferocia, Ferriel)

Rauta (Finnish for iron)

Argentum (Latin for silver, also where the Ag name comes for the chemical component) or any remix thereof (ex: Argan, Argun, Argen, Grentum, Gernam)

Just based on vibes:

Voclun, Falkus, Graneon, Asfel, Signum, Krome, Endyon

That's most of what I could come up with on the spot (kinda). I hope it helps!

Rise of the Villains: What’s the cult of the Elder Gods?

Note: In my mk au, there is a cult on which Ombra wants to take revenge. She takes her plan to a global level, massacring many cultists and their families. In this post, I wrote a summary of their origin.

After defeating the One Being, it was The Elder Gods turn to feed off his energy.

But as we know, OB maintained his consciousness and kept fighting the Elder Gods in many ways.

All of the realms, including the nature and creatures in them are a part of the OB, and the more aware their consciousness becomes, the more willing they are to fight the Elder Gods. In other words, the truth becomes clearer for them.

The Elder Gods know this, so they decided to use a weapon called “religion” to control the mortals and even the gods. They made a religion and devided it into several cults, and put each of protector gods in charge of them (to be worshipped and stuff). Without the Elder Gods intending it, however, more minor cults/religions were born.

Using this religion, they control the minds of the inhabitants of the realms to prevent any violations against themselves.

The first being who defied The Elder Gods, especially on this matter, was Falkus which put him through a lot of trauma.

Also, Ombra is one of these poor souls.

I haven’t participated in ages, but here’s a good ‘ol song which describes the end of “Rise of the Villains: The Shadow” (prequel to Darker than Black) perfectly. It speaks about the time when Atoosa (Ombra) discovers a harsh truth about the cause of the death of her parents and the protector gods especially Raiden, after being a low level servant ar the Sky Temple. That very truth is that the protector gods are involved in a cult which killed her parents and many more innocent people (in that flight incident). However, this is only a portion of the main picture. Atoosa faces a tough decision: take revenge and be free of the chains of their control forever, or linger beside Raiden, and endure the chains of being a good girl who watches her life burning in flames.

Catch me as I fall

Say you're here and it's all over now

Falkus finds me, and tells me what I need to hear. Raiden, the very man I have feelings for, is on the same side with my parents’ murderers. I don’t want to believe it, in fact, I want him to catch me and save me. I want him to say that he is here for me, and that nothing is going to go wrong, so I won’t drown in this pain.

Speaking to the atmosphere

No one's here and I fall into myself

This truth drives me into madness

Well, Raiden doesn’t do it. He’s loyal to his belief, to his mortals. No one is there to save me, and show me only a glimpse of light.

I know I can stop the pain if I will it all away

If I will it all away

There was only one way to stop this pain, and to free my rage. I can’t just sit here watch those vermins walk around and control my fate. I had enough of being a puppet to their will, and have my dreams and hope being taken from me. Yes, there is only one way and that is revenge. I have to be the one to have control over them.

Don't turn away (don't give in to the pain)

I made my decision. I was determined to join Falkus to make them all perish. But Raiden tries to stop me not because he loves me but because he is afraid of my worst.

Don't try to hide (though they're screaming your name)

I don’t want to hide anymore. But Raiden seems to want to protect us all from a known future. (Delia’s prediction about Ombra)

Don't close your eyes (God knows what lies behind them)

I am not going to neglect the reality anymore. Falkus offers me his hand, and opposing to Raiden, he is thrilled by what I am capable of.

Don't turn out the light (never sleep, never die)

And Falkus doesn’t want me to stop.

I'm frightened by what I see

But somehow I know that there's much more to come

Killing each and every one of those cultists is undoubtedly a scary set of flights, and once I take the first step, there will be no turning back. But it will quench my rage, and help me feel better; perhaps even the world.

Immobilized by my fear

And soon to be blinded by tears

However, something called fear is always there. I am willingly choosing to be the bad guy. I am crossing the moral codes my parents carved into the back of my mind. If I take Falkus’s hand and leave everything behind, I will become the exact kid my larents would despise. They wouldn’t want someone as pathetic as me to be their child.

Fallen angels at my feet

Whispered voices at my ear

They beg me to raise this hell, those on whom Raiden sees ugly horns of evil.

Death before my eyes

Lying next to me, I fear

She beckons me, shall I give in?

Upon my end, shall I begin

Forsaking all I've fallen for? I rise to meet the end

Shall I abandon everything behind? Shall I abandon the human in me, and become the monster strong enough to destroy another one?

Meet Lord Falkus!

He's the protector of Metalrealm, the god of all metals (can also manipulate them), and one of the most powerful beings in all the universe. Even the other gods and the Elder Gods have difficulties to compete with him. This is all because Metalrealm and its sacred magic and race need a protector as mighty as him.

However, due to some reasons (i don't want to spoil the story) he despises the Elder Gods, and has mixed feelings for other protector gods. He has acted against them somehow in the past, but they just have to endure him because Metalrealm bares more of the One Being's consciousness than the other realms, and must be preserved no matter what.

His mbti type is ENTP.

He knows how to work with computers and gadgets.

He smiles a lot, and it has nothing to do with his current mood.

He doesn't show his rage on his face. He's beating the shit out of you while maintaining his smile.

He doesn't feel "love", but there's a chance of making him toxically obsessed.

He's a very good dancer.

He just wants the Elder Gods to suffer.

Raiden and Fujin feel uncomfortable around him, but they want to befriend him to make things easier.

1. What flower/flowers is your character?

Ombra: Black iris. It symbolizes power, mystery and rebellion AND IT’S ALSO BLACK.

Falkus: Black iris fits him as well, but he is also a strelitzia. This flower symbolizes freedom and IMMORTALITY. Why did I choose “freedom”? Well, Falkus’s main goal is to gain his freedom and get rid of the elder god’s strings.

2. What fruit/vegetable is your character?

Ombra: You didn’t see it coming, but she’s a red leaf lettuce. It’s dark and a little beautiful from the outside, and has a bittersweet taste.

Falkus: He is definitely a bitter orange (citrus x aurantium). It smells really nice, but it has a sour-bitter taste. The nice smell is his nice outside, and the sour-bitter taste is his fucked up inside.

3. What drink is your character?

Ombra: She’s definitely an espresso. Bitter and Strong, but has a good smell which reminds me of her charisma and beauty. And its caffeine is like Ombra’s ability to make one aware of their surroundings (the real truth)

Falkus: Whiskey. It can be mixed with so mamy other liquors/fruits/beverages to create new drinks and flavors which is just like him being a social chameleon. Also, those new drinks are usually fancy looking, but that whiskey makes them taste bitter, and if you drink too much of them, it twists your mind ;)

4. What herb/spice is your character?

Ombra: Mint. Ombra is cold both inside and outside. Mint is refreshing and its scent floods you whole, just like how Ombra can conquer your mindset.

Falkus: Garlic. It’s delicious, but after you eat it, you breath smells awful.

5. Is your character reflective, translucent, sparkling or matte?

Ombra: Between matte and translucent. She has built walls of iron around herself, but sometimes you can see that her inside is as cold as her outside.

Falkus: Sparkling and reflective. He’s charming and friendly, and also social chameleon.

6. What cosmetic product is your character?

Ombra: Facial/body scrub. She unearths the truth, and wants everyone to see it.

Falkus: Concealer. HE CONCEALS.

7. What type of fabric is your character?

Ombra: Black leather. Strong and chic.

Falkus: Polyester. At first it seems beautiful, but wearing it can be uncomfortable. (At least for me okay)

8. If your character could rebuild the world exactly how they want, would it be an utopia or a distopia?

Ombra: Utopia. She wants peace. She has suffered injustice, and she doesn’t want EVERYONE to suffer it as well.

Falkus: Utopia. He also wants peace, and he wants to be free.

9. What drawing utensil is your character?

Ombra: Idk if it counts but she’d be a pencil sharpener. Think about the pencil as one’s mindset, she shapes it as she desires.

Falkus: Kneaded eraser. He can change his manners and is flexible, and he can erase those who took away his freedom.

10. Is your character served hot or cold?

Ombra: Cold. She’s cold and intimidating.

Falkus: Hot. He’s friendly and warm.

11. If your character was a dish, would it be served as a breakfast, a lunch, a dinner or a midnight snack?

Ombra: A fancy dinner. You have to take your time to learn more about her and her beautiful mind.

Falkus: A midnight snack. If you’re not careful and fall asleep afterwards, it’ll gradually hurt your stomach and esophagus.

12. What cookie type is your character?

Ombra: Gingersnaps. This is about her sweet side. I chose a spicy cookie because when she falls in love, she falls hard. I hope you get the connection T_T.

Falkus: Shortbread. It’s low in sugar. Falkus rarely catches feelings for someone. He’s not the sweetest lover, but eh the sugar is there anyhow.

13. What tea flavor is your character?

Ombra: The good ‘ol black tea ;). Dark, bitter and strong.

Falkus: Agua de Jamica. Sour and alcoholic.

OKAAY I’m figuring out Falkus and Quan Chi’s motivations! HAHAHA I’m totally not working on both of their bio’s simultaneously.

Falkus wants his freedom.

And Quan Chi wants power (this is obvious we all know that), and that derives from his fatal flaw which is being CONTROLLING.
