In which Blue kidnapped uh uh I mean went on a trip with Giangio to Elysion Boulevard!

You may be wonder “How? Why?”

The short answer is mods, BUT that answer does not do justice to the absolute JOURNEY it took to drag this little man all the way down to the streets of Krat. And I just want to share this with you cause screaming out laughter at 2AM on a discord call with friends unfortunate enough to witness this is not enough apparently XP

So! We begin at the Path of Misery.

I crash the game approximately three times trying to get him out of there. Eventually I settle on a system of teleporting him along with me and (at risk of making the game a tad less stable) freezing enemy animations to get through unharassed.

Not that that matters much for Gio cause enemies don’t care much abt NPCs but they very very much care about Pino and Pino is the lynch pin that keeps the game areas loaded under our feet.

Next was the lift. This is where I fully expected our journey to end. It almost did because Gio was not meant to be on a moving platform and would fall upwards and outwards out of the lift and into the shadow realm (he’d fall out of the world and despawn)

It took me FOUR tries to find the spot to stand so I could hold him in place so he wouldn’t fly away.

Everything went pretty smooth at Venigni works. Hilariously enough I accidentally talked to him while trying to climb a ladder and the first thing he had to say was “Ah! Mercy! I beg you! Don’t kill me!”

Nah don’t worry Gio, we’re just on a field trip.

Finally! We reach town! I’m howling with laughter and my friends are on the other end of the line like “Oh my god, you finally did it but WHY?!”

Everyone thank Pino for his hard work in helping me carry this man all the way down here👏👏👏

“Why didn’t you just spawn him in down in the city?”

Because NPCs have a string of numbers after their ID that generates upon loading the map they’re in. Therefore even if I have their ID, there’s no way to get the numbers needed to place them down. Therefore I resorted to dragging Gio through all the places linked WITHOUT load screens. So theoretically this will work for other NPCs standing around in areas linked without load screens too!

Giovanni is the eldest of seven siblings who were all raised on the coast of Lake Como. They lived affluently thanks to a luxurious resort that’s been in ownership of the Fiore’s for decades. Despite being the heir of this estate, Gio disappointed his father by leaving Italy to pursue a new life in the United States. His family assumed he was simply young and foolish for his move, but the reasonings lay in dark secrets he never wants to unbury. Fleeing his legacy was vital to his survival. 

Although his father is still unhappy with Giovanni, the wound is soothed by the real estate empire his son has built in New York City. His new home is where he plans to stay, leaving Italy and it’s secrets behind.

This is gonna get controversial: I think Giocrusher is extremely overrated.

Now don’t get me wrong I like Crusher but I just don’t ship him with Gio and there are reasons for that.

Crusher’s primary trait is *checks notes* having a crush on Giovanni. It’s a fun gag but if that’s the only real trait he has then to me that makes it a boring ship. I feel like the primary reason why Giocrusher is popular is because Crusher’s a man. Jello has even confirmed on stream that for each arc he’ll have to make reasons for why Gio’s minions are EXCLUDED from the action.

While I’m not the biggest GioLori shipper there is one big reason I like it more than Gio Crusher.

Lorelai doesn’t worship Giovanni. In my mind, most of their interactions have been as equals even though Lorelai is leagues stronger. GioCrusher just feels kinda awkward when Crusher treats Giovanni as some higher being even though their own gap in power is smaller and their whole dynamic seems one-sided on Crusher’s part.

I am aware of the people who don’t ship GioLori because “Lorelai’s a bad person” but I’ve seen some of you ship Percy and Zora so that seems like a moot point. And I think there’s a good chunk of people who act like Lorelai isn’t going to change even though Prison of Plastic is just the beginning of her character arc. And the fact Lorelai has flaws makes shipping her with Giovanni much more interesting.

At the end of the series I’d be just as happy if Giovanni was still single or was dating Lorelai. I just think a lot of Epithet fans are giving GioCrusher more praise than it deserves.

The Unofficial Homestuck Collection: It preserves all the flash usage and even has features and mods like getting rid of slurs or changing color contrast and a bunch of other stuff!

Homestuck Made this World: A podcast that provides literary analysis of and fandom context for Homestuck. (From my understanding, fandom context ends at Act 7, though they still analyze the Epilogues. They just weren't in the fandom spaces at the time for it.)

Homestuck.net: An archive of a bunch of official and unofficial stuff. Links to Hussie's other works, official social medias, fan games, fan video and art archives, cosplay references, Homestuck analysis, and a bunch of other stuff!

that's extremely flattering thank uuu! i hope u found her fun! i recommend her to anyone trying the game for the first time, she's really intuitive and embodies a ton of what i think makes guilty gear strive so special as for mods i don't use a ton. my go-to ram color is this one which u can see in all the non-bracket clips i've posted in the last month or two. i especially like the way it makes her face draped in shadow on 7th heaven district (my favorite netplay stage). there's also the no white ram mod which i consider essential (similar mods also exist for gio and nago) even if i still consider the affected palettes unusable for online play cause she's still gonna look white on ur opponent's end unless they also have the mod. i also like this one of asuka langley but i only ever use it training mode sometimes
