A great many ships move through the Auric Range, trade flowing up through the Sierra Madre Line and out through the Santanna Blinkgate. Thus, an increased presence of Trunk Security and its subfirms. Of these subfirms the Boudreaux & Thibodeaux Concern handles design and production for mechanized chassis in what are termed “High-Threat Corporate Entanglements”.  This is all preamble of course, to introduce what many in the Range consider IPS-N’s finest security force multiplier- The Bonney.  The Bonney is what IPS-N terms a “High Kinetic Fire Support Platform” created by the hyperkinesis module integrated into the “nervous system” of the mech’s frame and the pilot’s spinal uplink. Doses of the synthetic nano-adrenaline released in microbursts throughout combat allow both mech and pilot to move faster and shoot better than anyone else on the battlefield. And to the mercenary forces of Ladon’s Corpse and Furthest West there simply isn’t better than an experienced Bonney pilot to turn any mission around.
Bonney, within the Auric Range, is seen as a veteran’s frame. This is not to say that IPS-N, through B&TC, will not sell the mech to any hotshot who comes through Santanna with Manna to burn (and in the Range, those men outnumber the veterans), they absolutely will. But the popular public consensus of the Bonney is derived from the screamsheets and newspicts that flow back to the Sisters from the dozens of conflict zones that decorate the Range- media that depicts the Bonney and her pilots as hard bitten mercenaries with the strange affect of someone used to a life that starts and stops on command. The critics say this is a side-effect of long-term “Chronos” exposure. The pilots say that’s just what it takes to survive beyond the grasp of the Sisters.

Prayer to the Muses
Alasdair mac Mhaighstir Alasdair - native of Moidart.
The skies of my ability are narrow enough,
though my desire is wide, to build a wall on such a big foundation.
I need a chiselled stone,
I need a polished stone,
though my will is torn,
I am bereft of skill, unschooled art is a thing without substance,
on a subject like honey.

Ardnamurchan Lighthouse is almost as far west as it’s possible to go on the island of Britain. And it doesn’t disappoint. It’s remote, wild and boasts spectacular views of the Small Isles 🤩 #ardnamurchan #moidart #kilchoan #glenborrodale #ardnamurchanlighthouse #ardnamurchanpeninsula #peninsula #britain #westcoast #highlands #scotland #hame #staycation #scotland2022 (at Ardnamurchan Lighthouse) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChGAkuXDKL7/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Castle Tioram, Loch Moidart.
The ruins of Castle Tioram stand on the tidal island of Eilean Tioram near the point at which the River Shiel flows into Loch Moidart. Castle Tioram is pronounced „Cheerum“ as far as I know.
The castle was the traditional home of the MacDonalds of Clanranald. Castle Tioram was built in the early 13th century on a rock on the tidal island. It is very possible that there was a much older fortress before but the castle was mentioned for the first time in 1372.
Castle Tioram was recorded as being in a poor condition when occupied by a garrison of government troops during the 1715 Jacobite uprising. It was recaptured by Allan of Moidart, who then, it is said, set fire to it to prevent its future use, before departing to meet his death at the Battle of Sheriffmuir.

Seven weeks in!
Up this morning to strike camp from beneath a lovely fallen but still growing oak tree and a soft bed of leaves, first up is lugging the gear back to the road and getting underway.
Around the corner it's a right turn off the busy A road finally at Lochailort and the road sweeps downhill over the River Ailort and begins a long ride around thebsouth side of Loch Ailort.
It's some lovely going on this initial stretch, with some mild climbs and a great view across the water, with craggy cliffs rising to the side of the road.
Around the corner the road passes through the nice little bay at Glenuig, and the strikes south heading into the hills for some stiff climbs through the trees.
After some heavy work the route finally starts to descend and leads into a beautiful valley with a very fun ride down past the mountains through Kinlochmoidart.
Over the river Moidart and the climbs begin again, with a road that initially is so up-and-down that it almost looks as if it's warped. It's a long tough slog uphill before finally beginning another long downhill through the leafy hills down to the River Shiel.
We have a gentle ride through Acharacle which is pretty enough that it calls for a stop for lunch to take in the quiet views here, before heading back up the hills and on to Salen.
With a beautiful view over Loch Sunart, I take the turnoff to the west and begin a long, grindy 25 mile stretch out to the end of this peninsula. It's going to mean riding all the way back again, but there's a payoff at the end.
The road starts out following a nice line around the waterside, before leading in to a series of climb after climb, which make for some really heavy going.
A ways in and the road begins ascending in earnest, with narrow roads and sharp gradients making for challenging going despite the great views over the water.
Past Ardslignish and its beautiful bay, the road continues its ascent around the volcanic hills, and as the road twists through the gap in the hills a mighty headwind begins to kick in.
Around the pass I encounter a couple of cyclists coming the other direction. They assure me it's all downhill after here.
They lied.
A bit more grindy climbing into the wind and a bite to eat and there is a good 3 mile undulating descent down into Kilchoan, before the route turns off and it's back into some stiff climbs once more.
Out through the moorlands and around a corner and finally I spy the destination for today rising between the hills.
A little further round and we hit Ardnamurchan Lighthouse! With Skye's hills visible behind it in the distance, it's a beautiful sight.
And just along the coast is another major milestone this journey - Corrachadh Mòr, the most westerly point of Great Britain! Three down, one to go!
With that, evening is well underway, and despite the sun shining, there is a good bit of windchill, so time to find a spot to hole up for the night.
TTFN!

The Midway is the logical extension of IPS-N’s purchase and conversion of Atropos from pastoral world to military-industrial nightmare. Developed to be used by “Protection Officers” and “Stabilization Delegates” of the IPS-N Admiralty PeaceCorp (the civilian equivalent of the Marine Police) in anti-riot and anti-rebellion actions in the megasprawls of Atropos. “What policing would require a mech?” a sane man asks. There is no policing that requires mechanized support- this is a tool of oppression, wrought by greedy hands and unleashed upon a populace who strive to escape it.
The Midway has only seen large usage in the Auric Range, as the local Admiralty steps up its attempts to contain and control the ever riotous population of Atropos and the colonial holdings in Ladon’s Corpse. DoJ/HR has nominally signed off on the design of the Midway, but not its usage, and hounds IPS-N for every deployment.
Occasionally in Atropos, one finds a Midway that has been brought down by the populace, stripped of corporate branding and reworked into a neighborhood protector, standing firm against incursions by Protection Officers and allowing for some respite from the megasprawl nightmare of the Fortress World that has made the mech infamous.

Rain every day, and winds strong enough to deter all the but the craziest masochists from anything above 300m. Frankly I'd expect nothing less from the west coast in October, and as ever it's therefore been a case of 'snatch and grab' whatever weather windows offer themselves up. In this kind of set up, if you don't use it you lose it!
In yesterday's case it was a couple of hours in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. So first up, a circuit taking in the Silver Walk and Castle Tioram, followed by a low-tide amble around Ardtoe.
I'd been to Tioram before but had been meaning to do the Silver Walk for a while. Yep, in this freakishly warm autumn it was both keddy and ticky.....but it was beautiful
Nice!
