Kobra kid got his name from watching an old karate kid vhs at Dr. D's that was so worn out when kobra found it, the sound would cut out sometimes and the static was so thick at some parts you couldn't even make out silhouettes.

He kept the tape after he and party left Dr. D's to live on their own. Once the killjoys met the girl, he would show her the tape whenever they were at the radio station.
