New Horizons Status Report #27 (Day 18)

Session 1

No special announcements today, but apparently the seasonal aspect of bamboo recipes is that young spring bamboo... only appears in spring. My house extension is complete, and with it more storage

I say good morning to Jeremiah, and become True Friends with him! I found a recipe from "Rocket" for an apple hat, and a lost book on the ground. I ask Jeremiah about the lost item, and he says it might be Knox's

MrBeaver C.J. is in town today, and I take up his seasports challenge, though I drop off some football fish for a collectible first. This time, I have to catch three small fish in a row! I fumble my third catch, but quickly rack up another combo of three, ending with a new pale chub, meaning I pass!

My foreign island cherries alone sell for 24,000 Bells, and my fossil from yesterday is an old diplo neck, so I can sell that too. I check my mail: room-warming gifts from Paula (coffee grinder) and the HHA (rice cooker), and my Nook Shopping. Knox swings by the museum and I return his book to him, and he gives me yet another homework set

I swing by Resident Services and get this loan underway. I also order a lighthouse in the mail and donate 50,000 Bells to the red zen bridge project

Session 2

It's a very breezy day on Ryland. I dig up a couple of fossils - an acanthostega and a trilobite, both of which we already had. We've been getting tons of repeats, so I check the dinosaur exhibit to see how much progress we've made. There are plenty of things there, but plenty more we're missing

Pinky talks to me about Project K, and gives me a cypress plant to place somewhere. I figure the campsite will be a great place so I put it there

I check on our clifftop windflowers, and we've got purple windflower buds! I move them over and pay another 50,000 Bells to the red zen bridge, then dig up yet another trilobite. Then I visit the Able Sisters, and apparently I'm Sable's favourite customer *blush* I buy a bunch of clothes, including a really fancy coat

Speaking of clothes, people all over the island are wearing my custom shirts! And speaking of shirts in particular, I get a cycling shirt from my best buddy Boots when I give him a Bunny Day wreath! And speaking of wreaths, I give windflower wreaths to Knox and Mitzi (after I catch a fly off her) and get a fischerhemd from Mitzi (which I already have one of) and a handcart from Knox

Session 3

Aurora gives me a giant ribbon to wear. It's amazing. I buy two Nook Miles Tickets and jet off

First mystery tour: rocky mountain. I find a message bottle from "Maggie" for a classic-library wall, which I already know.

I go to the clifftops to access the orchard and find Celeste! She gives me the recipe for the Aries rocking chair. Zodiac item no. 1: obtained! I also FINALLY catch an Atlas moth on the raised cliff, and find Wisp as well! Mitzi catches me catching a soul piece, but she's too absorbed with teaching me Sadness. Olaf is nearby, though, so I hope the museum's outdoor exhibits were enough to distract him - but with C.J. streaming two pieces that were floating right by him, it may be a lost cause

I show my Aries fragments to Celeste before I make the rocking chair, and she tells me the legend of Aries. TL;DR: Zeus does something good for once, sending a sheep with a golden fleece to save two princes whose mother hated them. I return Wisp's spirit to him, and this time he gives me the expensive furniture item, a cat tower! Olaf gives me the recipe for a document stack and Knox gives me a b-BONE COSTUME?! Knox, who did you kill?!

I give Pinky a fischerhemd and she loves it, so she gives me a dolly shirt... which is another duplicate item for me. I give it to Aurora, and she likes it. Then I jet off to another faraway island

Second mystery tour: koi pond island. I find some cool swag: two! gold nuggets! in two separate rocks! and a fossil! Unfortunately, koi and water eggs are the same size underwater, so I'm fishing up nothing but eggs

Aurora started singing! And Knox joined her! You have no idea how happy I am right now, I've been waiting weeks for this to happen. While they serenade the world, I shoot down a recipe for cherry-blossom branches

Eventually, though, I had to move on. I get my fossil checked, but it's a megacero tail, and the megacerowhatever is already complete, so I left a grade-A concert performance for nothing D:

...except they're still singing when I come back, HELL YEAH!

(God, I'm actually crying tears of joy over this, holy wow)

I find an exit sign and a cute sofa in some cedar trees, and catch a jewel beetle on a stump

It's been an hour and they're still singing. I decide to save and quit right next to them so they'd be the last thing I heard today
