give me one memory you don't like and I'll let you have a memory I'm very fond of. A memory of a peaceful spring day.

You lay in nice grass. Not itchy, not spiky. Nice, soft blades of grass gently tickle your legs and the sun shines softly on your back. Just the right amount of warmth. You smile and rest your head on your arms, content with the world. The birds gently sing, a peaceful calming song.

There's bright yellow dandelions around you, enough to make 100 flower crowns. You start humming a tune, joining the birds in their song. You close your eyes and enjoy this wonderful moment, sun warming your back and nature keeping you company.

You can make this trade any time, anywhere. All you have to do is hand me a memory you don't like so that I can hold it, so it'll be smaller and further away.

Listen to the birds and enjoy the sun.

Favorite animal: Honestly I love pretty much all of them but if I had to, like. Cohabitate with one? Cats. God's favourite bastards. Also partial to polyphemus moths, the common brown bat, june beetles, golden moles, the silky tree anteater, poison dart frogs, hawks, chimney swifts, and nautuluses, too.

Cereal of choice: I am. Not a cereal person. Fruit loops?

Are you a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner? Visual. 100%. Everything I do and use is organized by color. I will remember your birthmarks and tattoos and piercings and scars long before I remember your name or anything else about you. I forgot my own name once. It's bad

First pet: A big black cat.

Favorite scent: Oh, this is hard. I have a coconut shampoo that reminds me of my mom, and a white musk and oud perfume that makes me think of Cairo, and a plum/vanilla/white musk lotion that smells like the last week of school before summer vacation. A bottle of my dad's cologne he let me keep for my 16th birthday. Frankincense. Lilacs. Sunscreen. Cedarwood. Pine chips. Pumpkin. Clean laundry. I dont think I can pick just one.

Do you believe in astrology?  Not even a little bit. Sure is fun, tho!

How many playlists do you have on Spotify/Apple Music? Playlists in general? Too many. Couple dozen, probably. One for every occasion.

I love to draw and oaint and sculpt and sew, but spend a lot of time at work and have some issues with hypersomnia so it doesn't happen as much as I'd like. Wish I could promote myself better because I miss creating but... I don't know. Maybe I'll make something in the morning.

hi! would you happen to know any communities (tumblr, discored, something along those lines) for people with autoimmune disorders? not like a i hope we all get better toxic positivity thing because we arent going to get better and neither a place that kinda sends you into a spiral ig? i'm looking for a community where i would be able to share my struggles with people, listen to theirs, and ultimately just exchange tips on how to make life better for ourselves.

Hi. I just usually followed the #chronic illness, #ableism, #cripplepunk, #disability, #spoonie tags and also @thebibliosphere and @naamahdarling. @compassionatereminders is a general sort of positivity blog by a disabled person, I also follow @cbspoons

To be honest, nearly all my mutuals are disabled and mentally ill in some way so I've never felt the need to go out and actually find anybody? 🤔 I've stopped actively following the disability tags on here a while ago because I was so angry and depressed that seeing other disabled people in the same boat started to depress me more. And if I want info on something specific I just search the tag on here. Goldmine of info I swear.

If you want information however, you really can't beat Disability Twitter. It hasn't gone anywhere, Muskapocalypse notwithstanding, and it's been a huge convergence point for information sharing and advocacy for Long Covid in the West. Iman Barbarin would be your starting point, she's @crutchesandspice on Tumblr but more active on Twitter. The Fat Doctor is also an essential follow (except their tweets are protected so they have to approve your follow request) and so is Kivan Bay. Honestly there's a huuuge overlap between Trans Twitter, Fat Liberation and Disability Twitter because they all come under the disability justice umbrella. Downside as always is that it's all very US-UK-focused.

You can follow me too if you like (Inflammatory Bowel Disease, chronic fatigue, arthritis, bipolar, salad bar of mental illness), but fair warning, I am extremely suicidally depressed rn, even though I've been getting a lot of help finally. I put all my downspirals under a cut and tag the shit out of those posts, but this blog might not be the best for your own mental health just fyi. 😬

So, I just learned that somebody I know (online and mostly at a distance but still) just died. Young. And suddenly. It's a genuine tragedy ... and my reaction to such is to make something positive out of it. That something is: remember to enjoy what moments you can, and to remind the people who matter to you that they do matter to you, because you never know when that chance will be lost.

These are just the first names that occurred to me. If your name isn't among those mentioned, it doesn't mean I value you less; it just means that it would be kind of annoying to list all of my hundred-plus mutuals. I care what happens to the people I see here. I want you to thrive, and it delights me to hear about it. I want to see your writing, or your art, or your thoughts, or just news about your lives. Many of you have helped me get through my own troubles, whether you know it or not, and I appreciate it immensely. It’s like no this isn’t COVID this is a combination of CPTSD-Asthma-Sinus Headaches-Low Iron Level Issues-Period Is Regularly Irregular And Unfortunately Very Delayed which has lead to me going ‘….am I…really disabled?’ at myself. (Also I have no idea if this is an actual thing but the asthma-eczema related nonsense only started post me getting pneumonia so whether that’s a thing is…maybe.

Also @naamahdarling has gotten me to think ‘….do I have legitimate medical triggers’ and uh, I think I do.

Just in case anybody doesn’t know, the new total ban on abortion laws that are being proposed in various US states mean that America will, in those places, be more restrictive about abortion than Saudi Arabia or Iran. And in fact, in every Islamic country women are allowed abortions if the life of the mother is at risk because, just like Judaism, the life of the mother is considered more important than the potential life of the child. Judaism is, unsurprisingly, more open minded about this than Christianity or Islam but I think it’s still fairly restricted in Israel. Not as restricted as it would be in the Palestinian territories, but you get my point. I just wanted to say this that it’s always the impression that however conservative American Christianity is, Islam must be far more conservative but in this case Christianity ends up being the more conservative one. That being said, I obviously would not want to be a woman in a Muslim country right now but I felt like I would link this article and remind everybody of that browser extension, what is it? 11 foot pole or something where you can get around a pay wall. Might be useful in this case.

A great little talke about how a bigoted, homophobic Iowa town drove out nearly the entire staff of their only library becase the mostly LGBTQIA staff was including some Queer books against the wishes of the Christofascist townsfolks.

A Quote: “At the meeting in March, Brooke Kruckernberg’s mother [a bigoted resident] also spoke up, stating, “For each book promoting the LGBTQ lifestyle, there should be a book on display that discusses how God created and designed people as either male or female from birth, for life.”Greenlee later explained that, in reality, only 7 of the 5,800 children’s section materials involved queerness whatsoever. On the other hand, Christianity and Christian themes were featured in 173 Children’s books.Sadly, the reality and bare numbers of the situation weren’t enough to assuage the queerphobic community members’ protestations. Clearly, they wouldn’t be happy until queerness was erased from the library shelves — and staff — entirely.”
