pleasantview reborn: the lotharios

i recently realised that i've hit round 4 in my pleasantview reborn save but never actually introduced any of the families... oops! time to remedy that... starting with the iconic lothario family at 165 sim lane!

i use @skittlessims' gc pleasantview sims, so a lot of my sims are going to look very different!

family bio:

The Lotharios are a reclusive, enigmatic bunch. Old money might have given Don and Cassandra a good start to family life, but was it enough to give them a happy marriage? Will Fabio finally crack under the pressure society has placed on him, the eldest heir to the Goth-Lothario fortune? Will Idalia grow up to be a perfectionist gentlelady like her mother, or a sailor of the seven seas? And through all of this, will Nadia get a good shot at a drama-free childhood? Rumours abound of the disagreements going on in the Lothario clan, and none of them are pretty.

Don Lothario

Once upon a time, Don's life was so full of ladies, the only reprieve he got was sleep. Now that he's gotten older and mellowed, though, all he's seeing are the consequences of his own actions. Namely, the many angry ex-lovers he spies whenever he takes his kids grocery shopping.

Cassandra Goth-Lothario

Quiet and mysterious, Cassandra has always been far more sophisticated and intelligent than her years. A doting, if strict, mother to her children, and an enigmatic figure in the science community she's soon to inherit, there is only one thing that Cassandra can't seem to solve: her husband's wandering eye.

Fabio Lothario

Handsome and polite, Fabio grew up in the stifling Goth-Lothario clan, constantly being reminded of his duties as the only Lothario son. He likes beans and would like to start a farm one day, though parental pressure to carry on the Lothario legacy threatens that dream.

Idalia Lothario

The social norms imposed on the Lothario siblings from birth seem to have had no effect on Idalia, the eldest daughter of Pleasantview's most notorious power couple. While as artistic and refined as her mother, and as attractive as her father, she seems to have inherited a penchant for the criminal from some long-lost Goth ancestor.

Nadia Lothario

Shy and nature-loving, Nadia keeps carefully to the Goth tradition of mystery. She has few friends and prefers her mother's plants to parties.

Baxter (Cat)

Baxter’s quite a curious kitty, though not the smartest. His loyalty to his longtime owner, Cassandra Goth, is infamous in Pleasantview.

I have completed a full year in my Megahood! (Pleasantview and Strangetown + universities)

This is part 1 of my Megahood update! Part 2 will be covering Strangetown. (Apologizes for bad screenshot quality)

I will be going in order of the screenshots, but this is not the order I play in!

Caliente: It’s just Nina in this household, she’s pretty high up in the Athletic career and her LTW is to woohoo with 20 sims. There’s not much going on with her (I speed 3 her a lot), however she’s currently pregnant with Daniel Pleasant's baby (not showing yet).

Pleasant: Just like Nina Caliente, Daniel is alone in his apartment. He maxed the Athletic career, and completed his LTW of becoming a Hall of Famer. In the first round, Mary-Sue caught him cheating and divorced him right away. His daughters don’t talk to him anymore, and he doesn’t even know his grandkids.

Broke: Dustin and Angela moved into the trailer park after graduating university. Dustin is high in the Criminal career and has the LTW of becoming a Criminal Mastermind. While Angela is just starting out in the Oceanography career with the LTW of becoming the Hand of Poseidon. The couple had twins from a risky woohoo, Paige and Olivia Pleasant. Dustin and Angela are unmarried, but are still head over heels for each other.

Goth: Alexander and Lucy just graduated university. Alexander is unemployed with the LTW of becoming the Head of SCIA. Lucy is also unemployed with the LTW of sending 3 kids to university. The couple is just dating with no plans of getting married yet.

Oldie/Dreamer: Mary-Sue is the head of the house, she still works in the Politics career with no sign of retirement, and her LTW is to earn 100k. Lilith moved back in after university. She’s in the Military career with the LTW of becoming the General. After Dirk graduated university he moved into Mary-Sue’s house. He’s also in the Politics career, however he has the LTW of being a Business Tycoon. The couple quickly got married after having their twins, Mateo and Nadia.

Dreamer: Darren and Brandi got married right before Dirk went off to university. Darren works in the Architecture career and has the LTW of becoming City Planner. Brandi works in Education and has the LTW of becoming Education Admin. Brandi had 3 children with her late husband Skip Broke, Dustin, Beau and Ameila. Beau isn’t doing great in school because he’s more focused on playing the bass and drums. Ameila is unborn baby Broke, she recently aged up into a teenager and is doing very well in high school. The youngest member of the household is Landon Dreamer, the only child between Darren and Brandi, he recently aged up into a child.

Lothario: Don and Cassandra got married and very soon after had their son, Brooks. Don is in the Medical career and has the LTW of having 20 lovers. He has yet to be caught cheating. Cassandra works in the Science career with the LTW of reaching Golden Anniversary. After the couple got married, they very quickly had Brooks. Brooks is a lot like his mother, he’s more focused on making money rather than dating. After a very long time of Brooks being an only child, Cassandra got pregnant from risky woohoo. She gave birth to her second child, Tessa Lothario.

Burb: John and Jennifer have 3 children together, Lucy, Easton, and Grace Burb. John is high in the Education career with the LTW of having 6 grandkids. While Jennifer is only halfway through the Law career, her LTW is to Become the Law. Easton is the couple's only boy and the middle child. He is dating Celeste Curious and is doing decently in school. Grace is the youngest child, and she’s a huge mommy’s girl.

Goth: Dina married Mortimer and had their daughter, Delilah Goth. Dina is high in the Slacker career and her LTW is to become a Professional Party Guest. She’s not close with her daughter, due to Dina bringing strange men home every night. Delilah doesn’t have many friends, nor is she close to her half-siblings, Cassandra and Alexander. She spends her time painting and going on walks with her dog.

TW: death, parental loss, homelessness, murder, juvenile detention, prison. ● Nova was raised by a single mother, Rose Dodson, their father never in the picture as he had abandoned her the moment he found out she was pregnant. ● It became clear at a very young age that Nova was advanced and at only four, he took a Mensa test and was admitted as one of the groups youngest members with a score of 142. ● By age eight, Nova seemed entirely sure of who they were; they spoke to their mother about their identity and their future and Rose was nothing short of supportive, embracing her child and supporting them the way they always had. ● Unexpectedly, Nova's mother fell sick and passed away by the time he was twelve and they were placed with relatives. However, due to not knowing how to handle him, Nova was bounced around and eventually, ended up drifting between relatives homes, couch-surfing with friends or simply sleeping on the streets. ● At fifteen, after getting involved with the wrong people, a robbery Nova was a part of went wrong and he was charged with felony murder. While most of the life of a star is stable, as it burns through its fuel and begins to cool, the outward forces of pressure drop until it's low enough for gravity to take over and cause it's collapse — a supernova. It's chaotic, bright, powerful, beautiful. It's also essential to life, a source of elements including the very iron in your blood and in their wake, can leave either a black hole or a new star. Balance was taken from Nova a decade ago, forcing them to drop further and further downwards, a decline they had long since lost control of until gravity or fate intervened. What was becoming a shell of the luminary Nova had once been was thrown into chaos; a new world, a new environment and perhaps, a new start. Chaotic, bright, powerful, beautiful. It was essential to his survival, his life. The only question that remains, what will be left in their wake?

RELATIONSHIP TO GREER;

Nova's relationships to Greer seems to exist more on a hypothetical than any reality. Their arrival was meant to be a new and exciting change, a return to the life they were meant to have, one that ended up all but cloaked by the darkness of Greer's missing status. It seemed to be everyone's focus and to some degree, Nova was thankful for it, his arrival able to slip mostly under the radar. After all, who held interest in your story when the school's golden girl had up and vanished?

I signed up for a one-shot LARP this weekend. The Dance and the Dawn:  “A gothic fairy tale. Doomed lords and ladies seek redemption through True Love at a midnight ball.“ Not wholly “my thing” but there’s waltzing as a game mechanic and dueling. I was cast as Their Honour, the Lord Joachim Selle, Wielder of the Tiger Sword, which thrills me. A non-binary Lothario type character is nothing I’ve played before, nor do I believe anyone who knows me would ever cast me as. I’m allowed to costume with one of my swords during the non-dancing/non-fighting portions of the game and I’ve just the perfect thing. 

Have been quite inspired by all the Gentleman Jack content drifting across my dashboard as well as too much Nadia from the Arcana. I had wild luck at a thrift store and nabbed nice men’s pants, suspenders, shirt, and vest (which I’ve tailored to fit me) and am going with a “tiger”/”Indian”/”orange” theme to offset that. The important thing is that I’m going to wear a cravat and a sword. I’m very excited. 

Also stitched the textblock for a book requested by a coworker. Have shifted to printing at the library for my books- cheaper, slightly lower quality, but no one is scrolling through my PDFs, questioning the legality (or perhaps passing moral judgement) on what it is I’m doing... Also dropped off book at county fair. Turns out my $3 entry fee & item entry earns me two free tickets! Score!

Party Time.

“What a lovely party. The decorations look amazing.” Mae said looking over at Judith.

Inhaling deeply. “Thank you, it took hours.” Judith replied blowing a hit of smoke up into the air.

“You’re new staff has really been doing a great job keeping up with this place.” Mae exclaimed. 

“They do alright.” She answered back.

Judith paused as she went to take a drag of her cigarette. Looking around the room she notices the Lothario family.

“Do you see Ms. Colacchio, she could have at least dressed for the occasion.” Judith growled inhaling deeply.

“I mean, who wear plaid. This is a birthday party, Not a back yard BBQ in Oasis Springs.” Judith and Mae both throw their heads back in laughter.

“I mean who even invited her anyway?” Mae asked crossing her arms in disgust.

“Probably her cousin Antonio.” Judith scorned. “He is just as trashy.”

“Miss. Ward, I was just coming to let you know more guests have arrived.” Carter interrupted abruptly.

“Where is Nadia?” Judith asked blowing out another hit of smoke.

“Um, Well. I think she’s in the kitchen fixing up some more horderves.” Carter replied.

“Tell that girl to stop what she is doing and go greet my guests. There is enough food out here already to keep everyone preoccupied.” Judith grunted taking another deep inhale off her cigarette.

Carter crossed his arms.

“Ma’am.” He nodded with a smirk.

Judith smiled and squinted her eyes at him trying to hide it from Mae.

“Also, If you don’t mind me saying. Smoking is bad for your health.” He said covering his mouth like a child who just tattled on his big sister.

Judith laughed and took another drag, but this time she blew a ring of smoke at Carter which expanded by the time it reached his face keeping its perfect circle as it passed by his head.

“Thanks miss.” He coughed plugging up his nose.

The two just stared at each other for a moment completely forgetting there were other people in the room.

“Umm...well this is awkward.” Mae suddenly chimed in.

“Oh Mae! I’m sorry I forgot you were standing there.” Carter smirked awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. “I apologize, someone as beautiful as yourself shouldn't be easily forgotten.”

Mae Blushed.

“Alright Carter, That's enough.” Judith said angrily putting her hand on her hip.

She felt the burn of jealous rage rush through her blood.

“I’m sorry Miss. Ward, I was just giving your friend a compliment.” He replied uneasy.

Mae put her head down in disappointment. She wasn't sure how to react. Judith looked at Carter and then back at Mae.

“I’m sorry Mae, You know I Love you.” Judith laughed as she turned to face her.

“I know, I love you too Judith.” Mae started to giggle. “You’re a bitch but I fucking love you.”

The two girls laugh.

Looking back over at Carter, Judith spoke but her giggly happy tone changed immediately.

“Why are you still standing there. Chop, chop!” Judith scolded swatting him away. “Go tell Nadia to finish up the horderves quick, then greet my guests.”

“Oh shit! Your guests!” Carter slapped his forehead then turned to run getting tangled up in the beaded door curtain and stumbling all the way into the main hall.

Mae and Judith burst out into laughter.

“Anyway, Thank you for coming Mae, I will catch up with you later.” Judith kissed her on the cheek and headed out the door towards the bar.

Pouring herself a glass of wine she see’s Carter run back by into the party room with a semi panicked look. Shrugging her shoulders she placed the glass of red wine on the bar and walked around to the other side. Taking a deep breath she sits down and deeply drank from her glass. The wine rushed past her teeth causing her taste buds to spasm as the flavor soared into her mouth. Swallowing hard, she places her glass back down on the bar top.

Bollywood Movies Part CXCVII: The Mollywood Takeover Part XXXIII

Shankaran (Jayasurya) is an illegal immigrant and Kathakali dancer who works in a restaurant. Saraswathy (Nadia Moidu) is a housewife who becomes suspicious that her husband (Murali Menon) is having an affair. Sibin (Nivin Pauly) is a lothario who finds himself falling for his friend’s (Sinu Pillai) new wife Gauri (Remya Nambeesan). Joy (Mukesh)  has to deal with family problems.

English: An Autumn in London is a decent movie about Malayalees in different social statuses living in London and the troubles they face. I especially enjoyed Shankaran’s and Saraswathy’s stories. Favorite songs are Mayumee and Akaashame. Both songs are audio only and don’t have subtitles.

Sidharth (Indrajith Sukumaran) moves to Bangalore for his job. While looking for a place to live, his girlfriend Veena (Remya Nambeesan) suggests he stay with her friend Icha (Nivin Pauly). Things take a turn when Sidharth notices Icha following him when Icha is also in a completely different place in the company of others.

Arikil Oraal is an interesting thriller that keeps you guessing until the end. Parts of it did feel contrived, especially towards the end. Nivin Pauly definitely showed off his versatility here. Favorite songs are Hey Ithuvazhi and Kanavil Kanavil. Neither song has subtitles.

Rameshan (Nivin Pauly) loves cricket, to the detriment of his studies. His father (Joy Mathew) tries to discourage his obsession with cricket, but to no avail. Later, when Rameshan’s son Kannan (Bhagath Abrid) shows an interest in hitting things with sticks, Rameshan decides to make him a cricket player.

1983 is a great film about family, cricket, and following your dreams (even if they’re dreams for your children). It was a fun watch. Also, the film is a tribute to Sachin Tendulkar. Favorite songs are Thalavettam Kanumba and Olakaam Choodumaayi. Neither song has subtitles.
