Neptune vs. Venus Beauty

This is my own observation, so take it with a grain of salt.

🪞 Neptune beauty is when you zoom out of a picture, and you only see the best features that stand out. Bad features are hidden and blurred. Angles are extremely important. Everything is positioned purposely to create a specific impression or feeling, but you wouldn't know it's on purpose. Photography is ruled by Neptune. Neptune 1st house/dominants would intuitively get what I mean. You only see what Neptunians want you to see but never know it's all intentional.

🪞 Venus beauty is when you zoom in a picture, and every single detail is still perfect. Their pores are so tight that you can't even notice. Their skin is super smooth. Every feature is elegant, no matter what angles. Venus beauty with Taurus influence is more genuine, realistic, and detailed. Their natural face is pretty that they don't need much makeup.

🪞 Neptune 1st house/dominants may have certain features that are extremely beautiful and unrealistic in sizes, shapes, colors (very big round eyes, purple eye colors, big pupils, plum lips, etc.). People mostly focus on those out-of-this-world features that they ignore or forget their other imperfect features that are covered up very well.

🪞 Venus 1st house/dominants may have all pretty and feminine features and almost no imperfections, but their features are more common and average in sizes, shapes, colors, etc . Each feature doesn't stand out separately, but together, they harmonize perfectly.

🪞 Neptunians may have a short or rounder face. They may have big round eyes, which gives off their innocence. Their pupils are huge as if they're wearing lenses. The gap between their eyes and lips are close, making them look like anime character. Their cheeks may be a bit more full, which give them a baby effect.

🪞 Venusians may have an oval or longer face. Their ratio is perfect, not too big or too small but balanced. Their features are thinner and more delicate than usual (thin eyebrows, small cheekbones, delicate lips lines), which gives off their femininity.

🪞 Neptunians change their appearance with different makeup styles, clothes, hairs, surgeries, etc. They fit the glamorous styles. They experience all kinds of styles that transform them into their ideal dream self.

🪞 Venusians, with Taurus influence, look the best with light and minimal makeup that showcases their natural beauty.

🪞 Neptunians give off an image of a baby or kid. Venusians give off an image of a maiden.

🪞 Neptune's features may be a bit more chubby than Venus's, which are more delicate.

🪞 Neptunians look naive, while Venusians act sweet.

Neptune BLUE!

I spent a day-and-a-half on Friday and Saturday researching the planet Neptune in order be able to write a scene in Galaxy Federal about a Neptunian planet.

All my fiction entails a high degree of research, since I am an expert in nothing other than writing itself yet I seek to convey great verisimilitude and accuracy in my work. One of my greatest hopes for my fiction is that people will be able to read it and, when my prose touches on their areas of expertise, they'll be able to nod in satisfaction and say "That's how it really is." And, so, I am ever researching things as I write.

But most of this stuff is just flesh for the background. When, in contrast, a scene comes around where I have to research literally every part of it, it becomes a much more demanding exercise! In this case I wanted to be able to describe Cherry standing on a platform at the top of a Neptunian world, and, while this may sound like a simple ask—"It's blue, right? And cloudy?"—it's definitely not.

What is the composition of the atmosphere? What color is the sky above? What color are the clouds? Are there different types of clouds? Are they above or below? What are their shapes? What are the wind conditions? Relative to what? What are the temperature conditions? At different altitudes? What are the pressure conditions? What consequences of extremely low-pressure environments should I be aware of? Where do all the different sky and cloud colors come from? How do the colors compare to one another? What do the near-infrared and near-UV look like? Might there precipitation? What would it be like? What would the air smell like? How would sunset affect the colors of whatever happens to be visible? Is there any relevant photochemistry affecting atmospheric conditions, and if so what is it? Can the planet's rings be inclined outside the equatorial plane? What is its gravity? How bright is its sun?

Most of these questions need to be answered not in order to literally convey the information in prose, but simply to make sure that I don't accidentally get the narrative details wrong. There are resources that describe Neptune's highest clouds as reddish; others say white; others still say bluish—and all of them are referring to those clouds as seen from above, not below.

I do have some control over the variables. A question like "How windy is it?" can be answered "Right now, it's whatever you need for it to be." But that's sloppy, and I like to minimize my slop. So, for precision, someone like me would have to go and learn a little bit about the Neptunian winds—all while taking care not to overgeneralize Neptune's specific example. (Thankfully we have Uranus for a comparison, but unfortunately Uranus isn't always so helpful, as it basically looks like a sleeping kitten.)

Another confounding factor is that the Internet seems to be becoming a worse and worse medium for doing this kind of esoteric fact-based research. Many resources are simply not reliable (being little more than unaudited discussions on message forums), and the search results are forever clogged with irrelevant or insufficiently detailed results. ("Hey, kids! Did you know that Neptune is a PLANET and that it is BLUE?!") At one point I thought about just buying a whole book on Neptune, but I discounted that because, for one thing, scope creep, and, for another thing, Neptunian planetary science is a surprisingly active area of research and we are still learning fundamentally new things about Neptune's atmosphere even today. Lots of books about it are already outdated!

I enjoy research, thankfully, and I certainly put in a tour-de-force for this one, reading dozens of webpages and watching hours of videos. I dodged a lot of bullets because of my research, like not accidentally having my characters' blood boil by setting the air pressure below the Armstrong Limit. And in the end, I wrote a good, solid, 2,500-word scene. It's beautiful, and, I hope, it's breathtaking.

But even so, for all my research I was aware that I am still not actually any closer to being an expert on Neptunian worlds, and I knew that my research was very thin by this measure, and that my depth of understanding remains poor. And so I knew the likelihood for mistakes was high—and that's not even counting the areas where I decided to give up and let slop win. (In the end I just made up an answer for the question of what the air smells like.)

Sure enough, a few hours after I had finished writing the scene on Saturday night, it occurred to me: "Wait a minute, J! What would it sound like to talk in that air, if one were to breathe it in? It's almost entirely hydrogen and helium!"

I rushed back and did a bit of emergency research, and discovered the answer that I had feared, and had to revise the scene accordingly to ensure that anyone inhaling that air speaks in a high pitched-voice. And that, my friends, is why some scenes are better in writing than in movies!

Political Astrology: US Debt Ceiling

Post time: May 24th 6:26 PM PST

June 1st, is when the United States Treasury says it will essentially run out of money to pay all of its bills. The United States spends more money than it makes in tax revenue, which creates debt. Since January the Federal Government had reached the pre-allowed debt that Congress allowed in the budget. What is happening is that the government had been moving around since January in oder to pay debts and essentially continue operating the country.

Using the chart of the US Constitution, which gave filling to the country and Declaration of Independence. Additionally, the Constitution is being used since some have called for President Biden to use the 14th Amendment to settle this debt ceiling conflict. 

Sitting in the US Con 2H (cash/money, income, and tangible material possessions) is Admetos in Capricorn at 15°. Admetos is an Uranian astrology, trans-neptunian point, that presents similar to Taurus and the need for material security/stability, Admetos in Capricorn is thinking about its responsibilities, and how they can secure and maintain financial security (2H) @ 15° through trade (15° is a gemini degree=trade/communication) of tangible materials (admetos). 

However with the May 24th-25th transits, there is a separating Cupido in the US Con Admetos in the 2H. Cupido is rx in Capricorn at 6°. Cupido, another trans-neptunian point that is a mixture of Venus and Jupiter, dealing with partnerships, business, jobs/work. However, with this separation and Cupido at 6° (virgo degree), we may be looking at agreements (mercury rules virgo) diminishing (virgo makes smaller). Since we are talking about a country, and the 2H, we are looking at the potential of US cash/money (tangible materials) being minimized by agreements, or lack of. 

When we look at the dial, we can see more about the communication. On the dial, while observing midpoints, there is a direct midpoint at 6° (virgo degree) to transiting Cupido to US Conn natal (n) Jupiter/Neptune. What we get: Cupido (t)=Jupiter (n)/Neptune (n); signaling a scandal caused  through one’s own instability (or distrust) with others (Cupido). Currently, House Democrats, collectively, are willing and ready to raise the debt ceiling without condition. However, Republicans will not agree to raise the debt ceiling unless Demograts agree to the agenda of cutting social services. I think this instability will make the country’s relationships (Jupiter in 7H), and more so credibility (Neptune in 10H) diminish (6° = virgo). Zooming in, Neptune sits in the US’s 10H (reputation/careers), in Libra at 17°. Jupiter sits in the 7H in Gemini at 25°. With Neptune in Libra at 17° we are talking about a country that has attained a lot of power, and attention through leadership (17°= Leo degree of fame), from being diplomatic (libra). 

It is no surprise to anyone that the US has a lot of influence on global politics. With Jupiter sitting the 7H (partnerships including business), in Gemini at 25° we see the country initiating (25° = Aries degree) communication and trades (gemini) with others (7H). 

President Biden may take action himself or another man (transit Sun sits in the US Con 7H) with political influence cusp of 7H is 2° in Gemini (2°=extreme power/influence). Or a political figure may use this as an opportunity to exert power and influence (Sun in Gemini at 3°), through tech gadgets like phone (text or call), computer (email), or even social media being the bridge since Gemini rules communication. 

If we look ahead to the deadline: June 1st, 2023. In the transit chart for that day (not overlayed with US Con), there is a direct midpoint to Mercury in Taurus at 46°. What we get:Mercury (t)=Sun/Zeus; signaling a very serious, and public (Capricorn degree) communication (Mercury), that will lead to a desire to exert power in oder to obtain material (Taurus) security and stability for the country (Mercury in 9H). 

I am unsure if the House and Senate will come to a deal. As I look at the overlay of the deadline to the Constitution, I do not think they will reach a deal by the date. Saturn the planet of repsonsibilties, inhibition, restrictions, and separation. The transiting Saturn creates a direct midpoint with the US Con Kronos/Admetos. Saturn (t)=Kronos (n)/Admetos (n); signaling inhibitions by the government (Kronos=authority) from being able to protect financial (2H) structures (admetos). A legal conflict may arise as a result since the country has debt to pay Saturn (t)=Moon/Appollon. Look out for a female civil servant or official to say or do something.

Do you have any thoughts on Neptune in retrograde?

Yes! Neptune retrograde happens every year and there are no major aspects to Neptune this time, so it's a pretty standard retrograde that will affect us less personally than the Mercury or Venus retrograde. What does highlight the Neptunian themes is that Neptune is currently in his home sign, Pisces.

Neptune retrograde can bring clarity, reveal illusions, secrets or deceit, or bring you face to face with your own self-destructive or self-deceptive patterns. For some, Neptune has little work to do this summer, but for those who have strayed far from reality, the next 5 months could be more difficult.

This is the perfect time to beat an addiction such as cigarettes, porn, etc, or begin any form of spiritual or psychological therapy. This can also potentially be a time of healing. For some people they will be diagnosed with a new illness they didn't know they had, however the awareness of the disease is the first step to healing! Others may discover that they were misdiagnosed.

This transit can also bring up old memories and difficult dreams or nightmares. Everything that is coming up is ready to be addressed, loved and released.

Hopefully many people will awaken from unfounded conspiracy theories in the rest of this year, realizing the foolishness of the Q Anon cult.

A puzzling, tangled, fickle way of conveying themselves

Things come quickly to the mind of messenger, so words get jumbled together and the listener has a lot to piece together, they can talk so fast it sounds like a new language. There can be a tendency to speak through humor, leaving others to wonder if what they’re saying is true or not. Or, a habit of speaking allusively; saying one thing and meaning another, people are left to decipher their riddles. White lies are common, but lies build up regardless of intent and when confronted the indvidual playfully behaves innocently, “who me? did I say such a thing? I say a lot of things.”

The indvidual can have quirky habits to help them concentrate that may confuse or irritate those around them, like whispering to themselves aloud, tapping their fingers, or fidgeting as if nervous even when all is well.

There is much to be said when this person speaks. i was assigned the words kudu, goblet, and foggy! okay, byrd, your words are tuxedo, plastic, and hardening—go!!

   The trophy room was… expansive. Dr. Elliot Chakarvarti eyed the President of Interplanetary Affairs’ expressions wearily—everything he was doing was illegal, but even if he was brought under review by a board of investigations, he owned half of them and had married or fathered most of the rest. Anyway, it had taken Chakarvarti this long to get in his good graces. He wasn’t about to risk that relationship to rely on a legal system that hadn’t worked since… well… ever. 

   Some said that power began to corrupt officials in the 2600s, when those in power no longer exploited the law because they were rich enough to openly subvert it. Others insisted there was still hope in the legal system as long as the right people were elected. Still others said absolute power corrupts absolutely, whatever, can we stop talking politics get back to our game of Neptunian Checkers now? Chakarvarti tended to agree with the latter, if only because he, too, wanted to get back to Neptunian Checkers. 

   The president gestured, goblet of deep magenta in hand, to the columns of glass display cases laid out before them. “I have specimen from all over the galaxy, my dear. The head of the noble stag-lion from HP-148-B. The black ivory of the obsidian freight beast. The leather,” he paused, like this was going to be impressive, “of homo viridi virins, the ancient primate that inhabited Mars!” 

   Another sapient extraterrestrial species driven to extinction through human bounty hunting. Chakarvarti wished wryly that the president had offered him a goblet of wine, too. It might calm his defense glands from leaking minimal quantities of toxic gas. 

   “Do you have any species from Earth?” he offered, feigning as much interest as he possibly could. “You see, that’s my area of expertise…”

   “You terrestrial zoologists!” the president chortled. “Of course I have trophies from Earth!” He guided Chakarvarti forward by the elbow, past the common species—the Keplers, the Marses, the X-9s—and towards the back of the room. “You aliens are always so fascinated with our little home planet. Well, I’m proud to say I’ve got the second-biggest collection of Earth species in the galaxy. Make yourself at home, Elliot!” 

   Chakarvarti, trying not to flinch at being called the A word, obliged, peering into the nearest glass case. 

   “Lithobates catesbeianus, first of its kind to be found complete,” the president said grandly. Chakarvarti looked at the fat, distended creature, professionally stuffed by the most reputable taxidermist, and tried to think of what humans called it. Sober humans who weren’t avid collectors. A toad, he thought. It’s a toad. 

   “Here’s a beauty, though I wish I could have gotten the set.” It was a single, elegantly curled horn. “These belong to the tragelaphus strepsiceros, the African kudu, quite an impressive species, such a shame they’re so rare…” The president clearly didn’t think it was a shame. He looked thrilled. “I’m one of only two to possess one of these horns, and damn those Andromeda bastards who have the other half of the pair…”
