I used to think that all the Legendary Pokemon were the deities of the Pokemon world - and I know in a lot of the games and such it is actually said. Which is cool.

But I've just learned that even Pokemon that AREN'T Legendary are seen as deities in the Pokemon world.

Bronzong, for example. It's Legend's Arceus PokeDex entry is literally:

"Some believe it's bell-like cry opens holes to another world. It has been revered as a deity since ancient times."

Pretty rad actually that it isn't JUST Legendaries y'know?

I'm a naturally skinny person, I dont have to actually do anything to stay thin, but when I was on ADHD meds I was a lot thinner. Like, almost 50 pounds underweight. You could counte my ribs and see my spine. I got taken off my ADHD meds because i was so dangerously under weight. Do you know what my friends told me when I finally got up to a healthy weight? "It's too bad you're not as skinny as you used to be". We were in 6th grade.

Since I was in like 7th grade so like 12/13 I thought I needed liposuction on my face to be pretty. Because I thought my cheeks were too chubby. I thought I needed a breast augmentation because they were too small.

I continued to think I needed liposuction on my face until about a year and a half ago when, wouldn't you know it, my cheeks naturally slimmed because my body was still changing.

I dont really know where I was going with this but I cant believe how much society made me hate my body even as a little girl.

Random but damn ASOIAF/GOT really went out of it's why to villainize mental illness.

Like all the characters with mental illness were labled "mad", considered villains and needed to be rid off. From Targaryens to Lysa.

I'll never forget how D&D practically said that "madness" runs in Daenerys family and therefore it was inevitable she'd be a villain.

And within the story, no character offered to help them. Instead they all stood by, watched, judged and opted to isolate them. Some even used it as an advantage to manipulate.

It literally goes, "Oh, they're crazy! Lets watch or trigger the deterioration of their mental health. Then when they fuck up, we killed them and call the killers heros."

I can' think of one positive case. If I'm forgetting something let me know.

Sometimes I think about the most effectively disturbing display of budding domestic abuse in media is the one scene in Pieces of a Woman where the boyfriend throws a yoga ball at his depressed and grieving gf because she’s not doing exactly what he wants her to when he wants her to. It’s so demeaning and immature on the outside and underpinned by all the skin crawling vitriol he has for her on the inside. Great cinema, felt it in my guts.
