I can’t believe that I made this Anacondrai lady and just left her in the dust for a bit goddamn

Anyways, Here’s Belladonna. Tall Anacondrai lady, mother to Vasuki, wife to Slithraa, and famous archer to the Anacondrai tribe. She was also known for her ways of wanting to make peace. I guess you can compare her to Valka in HTTYD 2. (That’d make Slithraa, Stoick and Vasuki Hiccup which is going to be kinda ironic with Katherina being a child of the Azure Dragon Samurai.)

The last of the notable Serpentine members of this group is none other than Attor, a Venomari spy/scout, basically a rogue.

Before joining the Rebellion he was planning to actually to be a warrior by climbing the ranks, however that changed when a fight went wrong and he spilled blood of another warrior, making some hatchlings lose their parent.

Now he’s more of a spy/scout for the Serpentine Rebellion, often reporting back from the inside, and picking up info from the meetings in Ouroboros, which is when he passed on the information that Pythor seeks to release the Devourer and that the Anacondrai had imprisoned a Master of Wind who was “gifted” the ability to see events in the future by the Anacondrai alchemists in their tomb. (Like I said, in my AU the Serpentine War dragged on a bit and it would be ten years before the pilot episodes/season one. The HoT would be one of the battles happening during it, but let's put the time siblings on the back burner for a hot minute and let me cook.)

When he joins the Serpentine Rebellion, Knucker would be taking the Venomari teen under his wing, training him, while Melusine would comfort and teach him the herbs and other medicines. (The two may as well have adopted him.) This would eventually lead him to make poison with some herbs and he would learn how to refine the Serpentine venom from liquid to a gas.

My little Venomari boy is about to commit war crimes with his substitute parents.

I may have been late for World Snake Day but I’ve got three of my other serpentine OCs done and I think these two deserved their own post. You can’t expect me to separate the tall Venomari wife and short Constrictai husband.

Also, tail accessories, weaponry, etc is really fun to draw on serpentine with long enough tails.

Now the best way to describe these two is that they are side characters but they are important.

On the left is Melusine. She's a Venomari woman and a mother to a Constrictai-Venomari hybrid (who won't be relevant until Next Gen and/or Dragons Rising if it needs to be redone but I digress). Now she did have a mate before the Constrictai but she had lost that Serpentine man and their nest during the First Serpentine War. The war dragged for a bit and because of that tribes were beginning to work together which eventually lead to her meeting Knucker.

Now Knucker is a fine Constrictai warrior, one of the finest actually. He’s more considered hands-on brawler type of fighter. In Serpentine culture, strength is above all else because it means strong warriors and even stronger and healthier hatchlings so he was well-respected in his own right.

He was actually alright in the ways of being a warrior and nearly scoffed at the notion of peace. At least until, he saw too many die under his watch and he was left to rot by his general too. This would be around the time Mel would meet Knucker as she was a medic as well in the war. The two would bond and eventually twine tails and of course end up separating in their tombs before reuniting.

Melusine is the one who convinced the Constrictai warrior to leave the tribes and follow up on the origin of the rumors about a Serpentine Rebellion so they could stop Pythor's plans on releasing the Devourer, hopefully prevent a Second Serpentine War, and advance further with humans so their own hatchlings wouldn't ever have to worry about fighting the moment they left the nest.

So basically a battle couple of Serpentine with the eventuality of them becoming Papa Wolf, Mama Bear.

The next piece will be Attor.

Aspheera in my style.

First off just to get this out of the way, I don’t believe she has sniddes no matter how funny that would be. It’s just the breast plate she’s wearing that makes her look like she’s got them sniddies. (The only time I ever like sniddies is when it’s either Zummeng’s design on her characters or like how this one Instagram artist did it with the explanation of snake tits actually being where they store snacks or small eggs. I only accept that.)

Secondly, yes she is getting a rewrite in my series as well because she definitely deserved more than just the revenge but she got stuck with. I’ll still let her keep her need for vengeance but… Imma add in emotional manipulation with my Basilisk guy and her actively try to be cordial with Wu and proceeds to backstab him in the end. She’s gonna play the long game just for that.

Her look is based off of samalamb-bases (In fact that's where I got the anthro legs from).

I’m very much late on World Snake Day but I gotta post this one. I don’t have much bio on my other Serpentine OCs but more like simple explanations.

So you’ve seen him around here and there on my blog before if you’ve been around long enough.

More info is down below (Pic is based off this)

Here is Nidhogg, a Fangpyre warrior who took up archery during the Serpentine War and he was taught by Belladonna in his teens. (Take note, I made this AU before the timeline had been confirmed and the Serpentine War lasted quite a bit and happened ten years before something we would consider canon. Again, my AU, I’m throwing canon right out the door because the writers can go f—)

Anyways, he was basically taught by Belladonna and in turn he was taught about her more peaceful ideals by her as well. He didn’t understand her beliefs because he was still a Serpentine teen chasing after his people’s approval, but he did know enough when it came time to protect others which would eventually lead him to betray his own tribe in present day, much like Belladonna had during the late stages of the first serpentine war.

He’d also eventually meet Belladonna’s teen son, Vasuki when the Fangpyre met the Hypnobrai which would led to some interesting conversations.

Since World Snake Day is coming closer and it'll take me a bit to finish up the supporting serpentine cast, I’m just going to hand you my main snake boy.

Name: Vasuki Nicknames: Vasu, V, Suki Age: 18 (Rise of the Snakes) Gender: Male Race: Serpentine (Hypnobrai-Anacondrai) Appearance: He is a hybrid between a Hypnobrai and Anacondrai. Mostly he inherited his Hypnobrai father’s traits, looking more like an anthropomorphic cobra with blue scales, red eyes, and a rattle. However he inherited some of his mother’s Anacondrai features as well with having a purple dipstick fading on the end of his tail, darker, more black markings down his back, and a gem on top of his head. He has a yellow chest and torso with silver outlining it. He wears a exomis that he received when he joined the Serpentine Rebellion.

Personality: He is independent, honest, loyal, steady, reliable, persistent, courageous, diligent, adaptable, trustworthy, and insightful. While his father would rather have things easy, he knows the easy way isn’t the right way. He also shows a sense of defiance and hates injustice. Those two things play into motion when he found the Anacondrai Tomb and he figured out what had happened to his mother, Belladonna. Occupation: Warrior Affiliations: Hypnobrai (formerly), The Serpentine Rebellion and Artaxerxes (currently), The Ninja — associated by Katherina (currently) Hometown: Glacier Barrens

Status: Alive

Bio: Sometime when the Serpentine War was slowing down, Slithraa and Belladonna had conceived a nest of eggs together in the wilderness. When trouble began to rise again and this time, a third party had come in and began attacking young on both sides, the two were forced to hide their eggs in the Anacondrai tomb. Belladonna however convinced Slithraa keep one because she had a bad feeling something was going to happen (something did) and so he did. Vasuki’s young half siblings knocked him out of the nest and Slithraa had caught him just in time for him to hatch. Slithraa gave him the name Vasuki in honor of what Belladonna wanted to name him. Vasuki then grew up in the Hypnobrai Tomb of the Glacier Barrens, learning to be a Warrior among the ranks but yearning to get out of the tomb much like the others, if not more. He had no idea why, but he felt something was missing and that something was too far away to hold. One day a distraught boy would open the tomb and Vasuki would watch his father being hypnotized. The child didn’t know what to do with him but he watched as Skales move his plan into action. He didn’t like the manipulation put on the boy but he also had a chance to see the outside and to quell this feeling of missing something, so he went out with them.

Relationships: Slithraa: He does have a decent relationship with his father. He’s loyal to him, even after he lost his General title. He was the one who told him what happened in the Anacondrai Tomb and gave all the proof he could to him. At first it seemed like Slithraa didn’t listen to him, especially when Vasuki attempted to harm Pythor himself (while the Ninja were getting someone out of imprisonment), but later on when the Serpentine divided Slithraa joined Vasuki, defying Skales’ command to follow him, and eventually beating Pythor himself.

Pythor: At first it didn’t feel right to follow him, but when he learned the truth of what happened to his mother, he grew to despise Pythor for all he did, putting others in harms way and worse, cannibalizing his tribe to live on. He loathed his rule and one day wanted to take him out himself. However that led to his banishment.

Artaxerxes: The Basilisk Prince and leader of the budding Serpentine Rebellion had found him within Ninjago City’s limits. Artaxerxes allowed him to stay with them and with the growing group, they’d overthrow Pythor and his followers.

Katherina: Little did the snake know, this Kunoichi of Darkness would actually be tied into his life forever. She stuck up for him when the other Ninja mistook the Rebellion’s camp for another Serpentine camp when she returned to them with another recruit. He had been loyal to her since and stuck by her side through the battle against Pythor’s followers during and after Day of the Devourer. She even helped rebuild the City of Ouroboros before the Stone Army happened. More adventures awaited her and he was encouraged to follow, feeling like he couldn’t let her go like before, even if that feeling didn’t make sense to him for a time. He’d come to find out later why that was.

Fun Facts: - Despite looking like a Hypnobrai, he is still a hybrid, meaning that while he got his mother’s invisibility, he cannot truly ever achieve his father’s hypnotism. If he does hypnotize someone, it’s mostly using someone else’s eyes and his own words to do so. - His original name was “Slithers” when he was still a concept, meant to be a play on words for “Slithraa.” However when art of him began coming out, his name changed to Vasuki. - “Vasuki” is a name of a naga in Hindu Mythology. He is a king who has a gem on his forehead. - The exomis he wears resembles much like the Hypaspists of the Macedonian infantry would wear and he carries a spear and shield like Hoplites and even has a sword sheathed to his side.

Name: Artaxerxes Nicknames: Xerxes, Artie Age: Unknown (Speculated to be in his 100s/early 1000s) Gender: Male Race: Basilisk Appearance: He is a Basilisk man, a serpentine/lizard-centaur, with four arms, forest green skin, red stripes, a yellowish underbelly, gold eyes and a pair of horns on his head.

Height: 7’3” tall (10 feet long) Weight: 2,000 pounds Hair style: None Hair Color: None Eye Color: Sun glow yellow/Golden Tainoi Skin Tone: Forest Green

Weapon of choice: Claymore sword. Element: None Abilities: Constriction, Enhanced Agility, Durability, Senses, Speed, Strength, Prehensile Tail, Seismic Sense.

Personality: He is a rather competent and intelligent basilisk, able to adapt to a situation when he’s needed to be involved. He is brave and honorable, as seen when he’s helping the knights against a dark force and holding up his end of the deal. While it does come with risks, he is merciful and shown utmost graciousness like his father. Occupation: Knight, Royalty Affiliations: The Royal Basilisk Family (currently), The Serpentine Rebellion (currently), The Ninja — associated through Katherina (currently)

Status: Alive

Bio: Artaxerxes was hatched in a family of Royal Basilisks before the Serpentine and Humans divided. He was one of the younger hatchlings during this time and he lived in the Basilisk territory that was a crossroads for Serpentine and Humans. One of his older sisters was sent to marry the Serpentine (Pyro Viper) Prince but that Prince didn't always show up to meet her. Somewhere along the line, there was a betrayal between the races and the Basilisks took a major hit. The young Artaxerxes was ushered out along with his mother the queen, some of his younger siblings and a few elders. He watched as their home crumbled apart and the once proud, peaceful Basilisk Kingdom collapsed so quickly. Artaxerxes and the handful of the Basilisk race left were sent to another dimension, a place of knights, magic and more. During his years, he learned the ways of the knights while the elders picked up the sorcery, using methods of their world and adapting it to this one, which led to them finding/developing a very rare disguise spell known as Glamour, a spell that was difficult to come by (let alone get from any sorcerers who knew of it), to help him get into the human population to get help from the wizard who mentored the current knights. Unfortunately, it meant getting involved in their affairs against the forces of dark magic. In the end, although he was revealed as a four armed basilisk due to high strung emotions. It would take some time for the human allies to adjust to working with him and he'd be begging for any way to get back to Ninjago by then. He'd eventually gain their help to go home with his sisters and mother. Eventually, he'd hear news of the Serpentine being out and he would start building a rebellion that would hide underneath Pythor's snout until the time was right.

Relationships:

Halcyon: His father, the King of Basilisks and co-leader of the ancient Serpentine. This basilisk man was absolutely adoring all of his children since the day they hatched, even pushed nest guards aside just to see them and Artaxerxes was no exception. He was proud of every one of them and wanted to keep the peace between humans and Serpentine. Unfortunately in his days, it never came to be and his last actions was protecting him and whoever got to escape the battle. (Halcyon would later die and the few surviving Basilisks left in Ninjago would set him up in the tomb where he waits for his wife to return.)

Rauxshana: His mother. Sweet, stern but wise. She and a few elders help teach Artaxerxes the politics of running a kingdom for the day he would be ready for coronation. He tried to ease her burdens of being a queen and brood mother to his siblings by using Glamour to get missions to pay for any supplies. She appreciates the help, especially since she was getting older. Artaxerxes promised that no matter what he’ll succeed where his father couldn’t. Ensure peace between the races so no battle would ever have to be fought again. And he promised her that he’ll get her home to be reunited with her husband, his father again.

The Serpentine Rebellion: In a way, this wasn’t his own army. This was his own tribe of mixed Serpentine who see Pythor’s madness and want to put an end to his reign. This group would later grow from the original seven with more Serpentine and they would rebuild all of the Serpentine world, regaining lost knowledge, arts, etc.

Aspheera: She is a strong sorceress, but he’s a Basilisk who dealt with sorcery and has a size advantage over her. He did defeat her and by Serpentine tradition of old, if a strong Serpentine woman was defeated, then the winner is her partner. She refused such a thing, but then strung him along until she could get her staff back. Despite the closeness (and a lot more) he thought they had all that time, he made the same mistake as his father had. Trusting the wrong person. She was far too deep in her vengeance to want anything else. It is currently unknown if she does get redemption or feel guilty for playing the long game and stringing him around. (Story might change.)

Fun Facts:

Formerly, he was known as Tezcacoatl, a name of Aztec origin meaning "reflecting serpent; king." However, I changed his name to Artaxerxes because of the origin of the Basilisk being in Persia. So, like his mother, he is given a Persian name and Artaxerxes fits better with the meanings being "true reign" and "having a kingdom of justice", foreshadowing his own destiny.

As you can tell, he was mostly based off of a Komodo Dragon, but there are other inspirations sprinkled in too. A few of them being a Basilisk for obvious reasons, knights of course, a Horned Viper (ironically what Aspheera and him would make if given the chance XD... Hmm..), Ophidiantaurs, World of Warcraft's Dragonspawn, and D&D's Dracotaur. There's a bit more but this is getting a little long.

He originally had orange spots decorating his back and they were going to turn into natural armor plating on him, but with the redesign, they didn't match his skin and in the end, he ended up with red stripes. Nothing too flashy which I ended up enjoying much better.

Yes he did have natural spikes on his back but the design change now makes it seem like the spikes were always his armor.

He was planned to have yet another ability. It would be something like an acid based attack, where he would er, puke up acid from his stomach and spew it at an enemy. This however would be scrapped and given to the women in his family. The Queen, his mother, made it a point to use it for execution and showing who had the real power of the Royal Basilisks.

It is undecided if he has the ability to petrify someone or not.

So anyways here's some info of hers down below

Weapon of choice: Mother's katana and Father's sabre. Varies most of the time. Element: Darkness Manipulation Abilities:

Shadow Generation -The power to generate shadows and darkness. (inspired by Lord Garmadon during the pilot episodes. We should really extend the use of that or give reason why he gave that up. Shade is capable of this as well but it was only ever in the mobile game.)

Shadow Camouflage - The power to become invisible while in shadows. (inspiration: Shade and the Shinobi from Samurai Jack)

Umbrakinetic Combat - The power to fuse manipulation of darkness with physical combat to create a devastating form of martial arts. (As it says on the tin)

Umbrakinetic Constructs - The ability to create objects and other constructs out of darkness. (Why her weapon choice varies. It is unknown if she could create entire structures or environments yet)

Personality: At first, she is standoffish, but getting to know her, you learn that she's been through a lot before encountering the Ninja and becoming one of the Kunoichi. She's tough but kind, known to be analytical but fun. Call her genre-savvy if you will. Occupation: Kunoichi Affiliations: The Ninja (currently), Serpentine Rebellion — through Vasuki (currently), Dragon Samurai — through her mother and "aunts" (currently), Elemental Masters (off and on) Hometown: (Spoilers)

Status: Alive Bio: Katherina here is the daughter of the previous Master of Darkness, Luther, and Clarissa, Lady Azure of the Dragon Samurai. She is their fourth child after their eldest, Xander and their twin girls, Mariana and Veronica. She lived in a city far away from the world of Ninjago with her parents having left that world behind in order to not let their young get involved with any fantastical affairs of the like. However they couldn't escape the world of fantasy after all. Katherina was open to the world and she grew up in it. One day, during one of her adventures while she was a teen, she had lost her brother due to a blast of magic and it would be sometime after the event of her loss that she would be framed for something she didn't do, due to her powers waking up after so long, and her grandparents on her mother's side had given her a way to get out of trouble. Unfortunately this would lead her back to Ninjago where she was needed the most. With her panicking and her powers sometimes lashing out with her not being taught to use them right, she was eventually found by Wu and the team of Ninja with their most recent addition, Sam, their wind kunoichi. It took Lord Garmadon to sift through the Darkness to reach Katherina. (Recalling how Leila, the former Master of Shadow had done the same for Luther, their old "friend".) Kathy would eventually be taught her powers correctly (more like without accidentally leaving a door open to Overlord, but she doesn't know that yet) and she joined the fight against the Serpentine. However, it was one night on her own that she would meet a Serpentine Hybrid who, for some reason, she felt a strong connection to and felt the need to hear him out and help him in their endeavor to take down Pythor and his followers.

Relationships:

Luther and Clarissa: Her parents. They are semi-strict types and protective of her and her siblings. The protectiveness definitely shows when they find out she's with Wu, someone they tried so hard to avoid yet somehow got circled back to. Xander: Her older brother who she looked up to. The two of them went on their own adventures through the city they lived in, encountering so much and experiencing more than their fair share together until that incident happened. Mariana and Veronica: The older twin girls. For the most part, they were cordial with her like some siblings are. They were actually studying magic and sometimes Kathy would join, trying to hang out with them and sometimes being shot down, but not maliciously. When Xander died however, their demeanor to her changed, shutting her out nearly completely until she herself disappeared one day. Samantha: A kunoichi of wind who became her friend. Vasuki: He is a Hypnobrai-Anacondrai hybrid she had followed, mistaking him for one of Pythor's followers. After hearing him out and being led to the border of their encampment, the Ninja had mistaken her for being kidnapped but they find out it's not the case. Events come to pass, and Kathy and Vasuki are inseparable to the point of when she was done helping rebuild the City of Ouroboros after the Battle of the Devourer, he ended up following her and eventually becoming her partner.

Fun Facts:

Originally, she was a self insert in an RP years ago back on DeviantArt. That was until I gave her a different name and watched other material that would make up her backstory. If you've seen my old DeviantArt journals, you'd know what I had laid out for her. However the story did change quite a bit.

She didn't actually have an official ninja suit design that wasn't customized to her. The most I ever got was her color. Now her suit is based off of several things. There's the unused Leonardo concept, Karai's armor, and that one Ninja costume from this site. That's basically the three main things that helped.

The names her family members, notably her father and brother, are called aren't their real names but by middle names.

She is a middle child. However, her younger sibling Tsukiko would have been born around the time she became a teen, aka the time her powers were presenting itself, so she didn't get much time to get to know her.

There is a reason Vasuki and Katherina already feel so familiar with each other around their first meeting. Of course, that is spoiler related and only one other person knows about it.

She only has so few abilities because her father is keeping the other half of the Element of Darkness so she cannot reach true potential until after he gives it up. (He does not give it up willingly, of course. Especially after he's learned that using too much of the Darkness Element would lead Overlord to an open door. He doesn't want that for her.)

She will get an appearance in another fic. The current Ninjago fic I'm writing is another OC, one by a friend, and I still love her so.

I was going to give her the Romanian version of her name, Catalina, but the more I thought about it, I realized she didn't really look like a Catalina, not even a Catina. Maybe if she were vastly different, I would do so but Katherina had been stuck to her for so long that it feels wrong to give her another name.

Playing with the new Ohuhu markers I got for Christmas and here’s the last post of this year

Yeah GD is getting a helmet in my AU.

How’d she get a helmet? That’s the fun part. I gotta write that out.

Might not use the markers often because while they are smooth and thick, my sketchbook might not be able to handle it that much. They’re still so fun though!
