Okay but Kaidan and Shepard being complete idiots in love during missions.

The team's taking heavy fire, out of ammo and hiding under cover, then Garrus turns around and sees these two lover losers playing X/O on the sandy ground to decide who goes to retrieve the flare gun.

They're competing on who gets to "sacrifice" themselves. You see, both of you and Kaidan wanted to protect the other from the horrible threat of some random mechs with bad aim and 500 credits pistols. Shepard already made up their mind to do it but you still play with Kaidan because it's fun to watch him lose from getting distracted by you whispering a thing or two in his ear.

Maybe you're in a shuttle before landing while Admiral Hackett is debriefing you on the mission. Your helmet is off and you're sipping on some random drink you snagged from the Normady fridge before going off shore, you notice Kaidan glancing it at and you wordlessly extend your hand and offer it to him.

No, he doesn't take it. He just drinks from the straw while you're still holding the drink. Mumbling a small thank you afterwards with a slight blush dusting his cheeks, somehow Admiral Hackett isn't phased in the slightest. But Liara is staring at the two of you as if one grew a second head.

You strain your ankle and Kaidan thinks he gets to play the hero as he offers to carry you back. Except you're the commander Shepard and you take offence and end up being the one carrying him back, bridal style, his ankle is fine and you're still the injured one but you'll be damned if you didn't show your beloved how capable you are.

Doctor Chakwas ends up yelling at you when she sees the state your ankle is in when you're back, somehow you didn't flinch or show any sign of pain while carrying Kaidan and this just makes him swoon over you even more. Doctor Chakwas ends up yelling at him too for enabling you by giving these lovestruck reactions.

Whenever you land on a greener garden planet for a mission, you end up picking a couple flowers and pretty floras you spot along the way to bring back to him. Kaidan keeps them all in a vase.

Likewise, he tries to sneakly pick whatever pretty rocks or shells he finds along the planets the team visits, but you catch him more often than not. He knows and appreciates how you still pretend to be surprised when he shows them to you back on the ship.

Lastly, a cute kiss but both of you are wearing helmets so it's more like a cute helmet touch against another for good luck before a mission starts.

I just think it's incredible that Ashley and Kaidan fans aren't closer because bioware really shoved those two characters into a box and tried to lazily copy and paste them together but we managed to still enjoy them for their own individual personalities and journey's to the same point. They both honor the other's sacrifice for them and we should be honoring both. They rise to become Spectres in the most crucial time in the journey and are invaluble to both Shepard and the Normady crew. They're there from beginning to end and I love that about them.

Aria, Nyreen and Shepard make the most toxic yuri throuple ever.

A ruthless asari, a gentle turian and a wild card human who each have their own rules and moral codes that they allow 0 compromise on. It's a threeway of "my way or the highway"

Especially since this is Shepard's free time, it's their personal affair that they docked the Normady for and left Joker twidling his thumbs and playing footsies with EDI while they went to start a revolution with their two gfs.

It's also the king, soldier and poet in a way. Aria is clearly the queen of Omega, Shepard the soldier and Nyreen the ex-military biotic leading a resistance and watching over civilians. Not very poet like but in the times of war she is the closest thing to one.

They both mutually trust Shepard too, lack of history of backstabbing and all. Be it paragon or renegade, your actions will always gain the favour of one of them.

You can make Aria softer, you can influence Nyreen to be harsher, you're the weight that tips the scale in favour of one or another.

Aria can't be left with one of you alone because the other person ends up becoming like her, she has this influence and magnetic pull on people to naturally seek her approval.

Both you and Nyreen need to be there to anchor one another and make sure you don't lose your true selves to the queen's influence, the soldier and the poet working together.
