It can't be true....Uncle Aemond was coming back home? Just like that? One day he was gone, he'd left her them, and he was just...coming back? Without thinking she began to walk briskly to her father's study, her long silver locks loose, she hadn't even let the maids finish adorn her in finery as she pushed the doors open to find her father drinking wine as he read through some letters. "Ah, my princess," Aegon said affectionately. "Come sit, my love." She didn't sit, only looked at him, and asked quietly, "Is it true, Father?" "Is what true, poppet?" He asked her. "Is Uncle Aemond coming home?" "Indeed he is, my darling. You know Lord Lannister has taken ill, and in his old age it's not likely he'll fully recover. The realm needs to stay on the path to peace, and- I need a new Hand. Your Uncle is returning to serve as my new hand of the King." She absorbed the news, nodding her head, feeling a swarm of emotions. "But- but he's been gone...for so long." She said, and her father sighed. "You'll not remember every gruesome detail- and I thank the gods for it- but the war was a brutal time, princess. Your Uncle was not the same man he was when it was over, nor I. I know you loved him dearly, but...he believed he needed to leave, sweet girl." Aegon told her. Leave me, she thought, then silently chastised herself- she wasn't six anymore.

"He was always fond of you, I'm sure you remember." Aegon said, as he kissed her forehead. "He didn't show much fondness, I must say, but when you were born, if there was any chance of seeing him smile, it was in your presence."

Of course she remembered- stolen honey cakes, time in the Dragonpit, flights on Vhagar, being read to at night, of the great history of their ancestors. Why else would it have hurt so bad when he left?

Oh Aemond has much to make up for!

thinking abt when i was in iran before getting femto LASIK at this insanely good eye clinic and the receptionist, without looking up, was like if ur nervous take one of these and pointed to a candy bowl full of beta blockers

#i saw the same candy bowl on like several other receptionists' tables and didn't clock it was full of tablets #anyway Irans medical care is in fact actually insane. still reeling from the fact that i got femto lasik just by calling the eye doctor #asking if he has time tmrw and he was like...yeah sure ill pop into the clinic #and also another surgery that was done like 1 or 2 days after the consultation. this isn't to say they do a rushed job #bc they are phenomenal im just baffled abt the speed of it all. ig im used to the uk where u have like...2 yr long waiting list #but tbf there are a) less qualified ppl here and b) there is def s better work life balance for medics #compared to iran #anyways #also most receptionists were like. recently graduated doctors. so theyd be on their reception shift and then when they finish that they #go straight into the clinic offices and start treating patients etc it was so sleek and fast as a process #anyway i also heard the most horrifying stories there bc this was during the protests do ppl would also come in bc like #their eyes were fucked up by gas or being beaten by the police etc etc it was rly heartbreaking sometimes

Ok so I haven't finished it yet But I'd like to ramble just a little about some thoughts on Marble Hornets so far that being: 1. WAY sadder than I had ever expected it to be 2. I find it really entertaining how the protagonist is honestly kind of terrible
