Happy one year anniversary to this incident:

[context: I was showing my mother a picture of Octavian and she asked me if that was Park Jimin (she couldn’t see clearing cuz she wasn’t wearing her glasses, and she just assumed cuz of the hair colour) so this lil gag lead on to me HC-ing Tav’s mother to be Korean-American as a joke but now it has stuck and I can’t un-HC it. :)]

Yeah her name’s Augustina, Auggie for short.

It was actually a joke 😭 but I ended up drawing it and got invested. @thegodswereneveronourside helped me with it 😂💜

Basically Auggie is a cloud nymph, her parents didn’t want her so they left her at some random place. Said random place ended up being Octavian’s door step.

Apparently a series of things happen, which includes him babysitting and naming the baby Augustina (cuz he found her in mid August)

Octavian: Don’t name it! Or else you’ll get attached

Also Octavian: I dub thee…Auggie

Yeah that pretty much sums it up👆🏼 he only named her cuz he felt embarrassed by constantly referring to her as ‘baby’. But he got attached mainly cuz he was quite lonely and Auggie really kept him on his heels. He also likes the 24/7 company.

Now he carries her around using his toga as a makeshift carrier. Tav doesn’t really like kids but he likes the attention he gets while carrying Auggie around CJ. So he made an exception.

Also they both are fussy asf. And they both like irritating Reyna when they’re in trouble or need help.

How does Auggie feel about the Greeks? Has she helped changed Tav's opinions about them?

Yay first ask of the blog :D!!!!!!!

Ok so if we go by the timeline of this post

Auggie was quite little during the war arc and of course didn’t have any knowledge about the Greeks/Romans war and that her dad was the one who initiated the conflict. To her she just hated “Greg” (and she didn’t even know who this Greg was)

So basically she was raised during the period of peace and friendship between the two camps. In fact she was actually temporarily raised in CHB by the Apollo cabin while Octavian was getting therapy. She came to love camp half blood and later started living there for most of the summers while Tav was away getting treated.

She was never an Apollo kid but they made her one of the cabin 7 members. She grew up in a healthy and happy environment. And she got along with all the Greeks. She occasionally visited CJ during exchange programs or field trips.

So Tav actually went through his trial in CJ after all his treatment was over. Despite the severity of his crimes, he got off a lighter sentence cuz of his mental state and his daughter (who found out the truth and basically fought everyone to give Tav another chance). So he was then exiled from CJ instead. Tho he was still welcome in CHB. He chose not to indulge himself with the camp since he still had his hate left in his heart. Mostly he was just terrified of them now.

So now Auggie had a REALLY BIG impact on Tav getting over his hate and fear. Despite it taking a long time, it was worth it.

How did she help? Well:

First thing was she cleared out whatever rumours there were about the Greeks. Octavian believed in a ton of lies and Auggie had tried to convince him.

Auggie had lived a very happy life in CHB and was basically raised by the Greeks when Tav wasn’t there for her. The Greeks didn’t care who her father was, they took her in as their own and how everyone treated her normally.

She would tell Octavian about all the adventures she had and all the fun during the Greek VS Roman capture the flag games. And how the Apollo cabin had treated her as their own despite her not being a demigod.

Despite whatever Octavian did he was still welcome at CHB. Mainly cuz it’s help the father and daughter reconnect after their lost years.

A lil twist comes here (because i love myself a good and irrelevant plot twists hehe 🤪).

it turns out that Auggie was actually a GREEK wind spirit. And that Octavian basically raised and loved a Greek all this time. How did they find out? She was actually claimed in CHB but not as a demigod but actually as one of the resident magical creatures. So that was a real big shocker.

So in the end he ended up changing his mind. He still was a bit iffy but he wasn’t going to bother himself with the Greek stuff cuz now his main priority was to raise and protect Auggie.

So they lived pretty decent lives…if we ignore the occasional:

Tav: So you have more Greek friends than Roman?

Aug: DAD!!!

Tav: What??? Just saying that there should be a balance in friends

Aug: Papa I will take away your “#1 Dad mug” I gave you when I was 4 and give it to Auntie Reyna.

Tav: No Way!! Auntie Reyna won’t get shit! I’ve had this for 10 years!! *sips from said mug*

Aug: Sooooo. You’re ok with my friends...right?

Tav: *sigh* yeah yeah…as long as you’re happy…

Aug: :D

Tav: >:/

Why do you like Octavian so much?

I’ve got this question so many times 🌸💜🌸💜💜it’s like a yearly tradition 🤣

Well basically because he’s a complex character with no story of his own. He’s very flexible, like u can bend him into being whatever u like. You can make him a hero, an even worse villain, maybe someone who was misunderstood, or someone who was right all along. He’s a blank canvas, go crazy.

I’ve always liked such characters, especially Octavian cuz he’s so hated by everyone. Also there’s a thrill in diverting from a straight path, the path Rick set for him, boring ASF, bland! No flavour at all. Which made him perfect. Now he can be whatever we want :)

Now we move on to the REAL /j reasons why I like him:
